    Forever Grateful

    My husband and I were so grateful for our experience with Lisa. She was so detail oriented and made sure to guide us throughout the entire process. The venue itself was beautiful and spacious. I would definitely recommend this venue and their services.

    Amazing experience with an awesome team!

    My wedding was September 21, 2023. I had the pleasure of working with both Maritza and Lisa. They are two amazing women. They made sure I had everything I needed. They were quick to answer my thousand emails and were so understanding when I needed to make last minute changes.

    We made it happen in 3 months!

    My wedding was held here last weekend after visiting Renaissance for the first time at the end of January. As soon as I walked in I had a feeling this would be our venue, which was even more confirmed by meeting Maritza. Although she's only started working here in January, her years of experience with event planning was evident as soon as we sat down together. She made me feel at ease with the whole process and wasn't pushy with pricing or our budget at all. They were more than accommodating for hosting us on short notice and were responsive whether by email or phone. The event hall doesn't need much decoration as it's quite beautiful as it is on its own, there was enough staff and everyone I interacted with that evening was kind. Maritza was a true professional as my maitre d, and I'm glad I trusted her and Renaissance Event Hall! I was somewhat nervous that this seemed too easy for a day that a lot of people feel more stressed about, but we think our wedding was a success based on our experience and the feedback of our guests. Everyone enjoyed the food, which was one of our biggest concerns. Thank you!

    Amazing Experience

    We had a wonderful experience with Renaissance throughout the entire planning process and, especially, on our wedding day. The first day we went and looked at the space, Teresa answered all our questions and helped us design a wedding package that worked for us. Shortly after, we went for a "tasting" which turned out to be a multi-course meal with delicious appetizers, wines, champagne and amazing service. Their menu is huge and customizable for dietary restrictions. For the next few months, we e-mailed a lot with Marion, their event coordinator. She was extremely responsive and helpful for all our many questions as we worked out the details of our day. We also met with their manager, Bernard, who helped us and our DJ feel ready for the day. Our actual wedding reception at Renaissance was above and beyond all our expectations. Every detail we asked for was taken care of so that we could just relax and enjoy the day, including making sure we got to eat. The space is absolutely beautiful. There is an upstairs where we had cocktail hour. Then, we as the couple got to enter down a beautiful grand staircase. Downstairs there is a dance floor and a big open space for dinner. We are so pleased with the service, space, food, and the amazing time we had at Renaissance. I would give them more than 5 stars if possible!

    Lovely Space

    Renaissance event hall was very accommodating and flexible with whatever I needed. As soon as I walked in I fell in love with the space. Also I love that they are great with the price and accommodating to me and my fiancé who is vegan .

    Highly satisfied, couldn’t have asked for more

    From our first site visit Teresa made us feel comfortable. She was super easy to work with, accommodating and reassuring throughout the whole process. On the day of, Marion the maitre ‘D and Bryan the captain oversaw everything and made our guests feel welcomed. While we weren’t impressed with the entrees at the tasting, the food turned out great the day of. My only regret was that I didn’t get to try any of the hor deurves for cocktail hour; the bridal attendant did bring them into the bridal suite, I was just too frazzled to eat. Bryan was super attentive and made sure husband and I both got a full plate of dinner as well as both flavors of the sheet cakes.
    I have no complaints of the service and professionalism except for one minor detail: we had set up small LED tea lights at the edge of the stairs but were asked to move them to the wall in case of them falling off, but when I walked down during processional I ended up knocking over them with my train as I was on the right side by the wall.
    Overall, highly recommend this venue. Great value, lovely interiors, no lack of courtesy and thoughtfulness. We’re very happy with our choice.

    Brenda, Benard, and the rest of the Renaissance Event Hall (REH) team were fantastic from start to finish. REH provides a menu of options, which allows for each couple to customize their experience. You can choose between a buffet and sit-down dinner, a range of courses (including or excluding dessert), and multiple alcohol packages. Additionally, they permitted us to bring in additional vendors for part of the dinner and dessert, and make last minute changes when necessary. As for the wedding day, Brenda was present to ensure everything ran smoothly (which is especially convenient for couples who cannot afford a wedding planner). There was a member of the wait staff (Diana) assigned specifically to the wedding party; she ensured that everyone had a drink in hand and was wonderful to work with the entire evening. Guests raved about the food, and genuinely had a great experience with all REH staff members and facilities.

    At the outset, my wife and I were skeptical that a beautiful wedding could come at such a moderate price tag. But REH proved us wrong. REH succeeded all of our expectations at a price well below many other venues in the NYC area.

    Professional, Consultative, Competitive, Flexible, Creative, Attentive, Personable, Cooperative, and Outstanding Upbeat Attitude on top of incredible food. Great Value in a very fresh unique space. Management and execution is top notch. The rainy weather that day was meaningless in the face of happy guests that were fully enjoying themselves. If you are planning a wedding, you need to see this place and include it among your selection process. The agility and energy of the staff will make your special day so much more pleasurable and easier as they did for us - and that in itself made Renaissance Event Hall the best choice for us. Visiting several times before the event, sometimes after work hours, meeting the staff, trying the food and developing our ideas by coming there truly helped us develop a vision and an aesthetic in very comfortable circumstances instead of being under pressure with outside service vendors thrown in our face. The chemistry was magical and the best decision we made in 2018.

    I am a very driven person. When looking for a wedding venue we had very specific needs and wants. We visited thirteen venues in one week. The minute we walked into the Renaissance Event Hall we knew we had found the right place for our wedding. It is the perfect venue for a traditional event or a non-traditional setting like ours. The design is chic and modern without being overpowering. It is the perfect balanced canvas to create whatever you need, right down to the bathrooms with the amazing wallpaper.
    Teresa was warm and friendly. She sold us on the venue without being heavy-handed and gave us room to think and make decisions. They were very willing to work within our budget and didn’t make us feel like it would be at the expense of quality. They recommended top notch vendors and were very willing to work with our own outside vendors. We were also very impressed with the sample menu tasting. My husband and I are both foodies and while the design was super important to me, food was super important to him. Neither of us was at all disappointed.
    The food was spectacular, not what you would expect from an event venue. They were also very accommodating of our specific tastes and needs. Benard, who oversaw the details, was truly helpful. He heard all our requests and made all possible happen leading up to the main event.
    Benard and Teresa were very professional while still exuding warmth and friendliness. They even followed-up with a conference call with my husband and me two days later to check on us and confirm our night had met all our expectations.
    The rest of the staff who worked and took care of us on the day/night of our wedding were also top notch. We would absolutely recommend this place to friends, family and strangers alike. It was a truly gratifying experience working with Bernard and Teresa who helped to bring our vision to fruition. We would love to have another event to plan with them.

    Anyone who has underwent planning a wedding in New York City can understand how truly daunting it may be. My wife and I were experiencing this first hand until we were able to find the Renaissance, a true gem in Astoria. From the moment we walked in we were incredibly impressed with the space and it was true pleasure to work with Theresa and Brenda. They were able to accommodate us on every aspect that we wanted to incorporate into the ceremony and reception, all while working within the limits of our budget. On the day of the wedding everything was arranged as requested for the ceremony without any flaws. This followed through onto the cocktail hour and reception where the food was absolutely fantastic, service was extremely professional, and was promptly coordinate with the dancing, photos, and other festivities. Our guests were having such a good time that it took an effort to convince them the party was over! Theresa, Brenda, and the rest of the team at the Renaissance are a welcome relief to the potential headache that could come with trying to plan and execute a wedding in NYC. We hope to be able to work with them again for other events we may host in the future. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

    The Renaissance Event Hall is a hidden gem - we absolutely loved hosting our wedding ceremony and reception for 150 guests here and would HIGHLY recommend this venue to anyone looking for an intimate, elegant and unique wedding experience. I could go on and on but here are some highlights:
    THE FOOD: OMG. We hate boring, bland and tasteless "catering hall" food and that is NOT what you get at Renaissance. The team worked with us on a tasting menu and the food is absolutely gorgeous. You're going to get a top quality chef here not gross reheated frozen food. We especially loved the red snapper but oh so many amazing options. The desserts are also sublime.
    THE LOCATION: BEAUTIFUL AND EASY TO GET TO. This place is gorgeous. You will have the place to yourself for your event - this is AMAZING and not something you should compromise on as it makes a difference. It reminded me of a Great Gatsby-esque wonderland. Our decorations worked really well and it's close to the city and definitely get valet for your guests.
    THE SERVICE: TOP NOTCH. Everyone here cares about your special day. Like FOR REAL. Not just because it's a job but because they want you to have the most amazing day. Theresa, Brenda and Astrid (again, we could go on and on with all of the special people we worked with here) were great and again, will make sure the planning and execution of your day is exactly as you want it.
    Do yourself a favor and go visit this venue - you will not regret it! Thanks Renaissance!

    The Renaissance was really accommodating -- we met with staff many times leading up to the wedding, and they were always willing to see us and were generous with their time. The staff is friendly, and there's a laid-back feeling while still paying attention to detail.
    We worked with Brenda and Astrid was there on the day-of and they were both extremely helpful and competent.
    The food was really good and we received lots of compliments from our guests on both the food and the venue itself.
    Brenda was so helpful throughout the entire planning process and was able to accommodate all of our requests.

    Beautiful and unique space. Perfect for hosting the ceremony and reception all in one. They only host one event at a time so you have all of their attention and it's very intimate. We had 125 guests at our wedding and it was the perfect size. The food was excellent! The staff was attentive and professional throughout the night and our wonderful maitre'd, Astrid, made sure everything went smoothly and that we had the best night of our lives. Planning the event was such a breeze, Brenda and Theresa were prompt to respond to and accommodate our every request. I had been in talks with other venues before booking this one and I felt like I had to chase them down to give them my business so finally working with Brenda was a breath of fresh air. I would 100% recommend the Renaissance to anyone looking for a wedding venue and I'm even looking for an occasion to host something there again.

    Through Wedding Wire and The Knot we found this little Gem. Our wedding was everything we had hoped for. We couldn't be more grateful for Brenda and the Renaissance Staff for making our day feel so special. The food was amazing and my guest had no complaint.     For any couple looking for an incredible venue that won't break the bank this is it. You truly get your money's worth- as the food, decor and staff are comparable, if not better, than higher-priced venues. Brenda and Astrid in particular are phenomenal and will meet all your needs. they take the stress out of the process and are there for you every step. Your guests will be impressed and well-taken care of, as will you!

    Do not hesitate--book The Renaissance Event Hall today! The staff is incredibly knowledgable and works their hardest to make your event special. The ideas we had for our wedding were so much more than people usually do at weddings, involving costume changes, performances, bringing in our own lighting and sound people, etc. From the very first appointment the staff at The Renaissance didn't think twice. We would propose our idea and they would say, "Yes, absolutely, let's make this work." Their willingness to work with us and do everything they could to make our wedding run smoothly was a blessing. The food was exceptional, the space beautiful, and the staff so accommodating and on top of things. Astrid was invaluable the day of the event; she was so attentive, our cups were figuratively (and almost literally) overflowing! Brenda was the best person to coordinate the event with. Even when we asked questions two, three, four times, just to make sure we were communicating properly, she approached every concern with the utmost care, patience, and attentiveness. Teresa, an owner of the business, made us feel we were always in safe hands. Her enthusiasm for our wedding from day one made us feel completely at ease and confident that our wedding would be amazing. The fact that not only was she at our event, but she actively wanted to be there, showed us how The Renaissance isn't just running a business; they realize they are helping to create lifelong memories for the important events in your life. Planning a wedding (especially without a wedding planner) can be a daunting task, and we started our planning on the best foot possible with our first appointment at The Renaissance. We are just disappointed the wedding is over because we would love to continue working with them!

    Our Great Gatsby themed wedding had the perfect backdrop at the Renaissance.
    Cocktails have been superb!
    The piano during our ceremony made it feel soooo romantic.
    We didn’t get the chance to enjoy our wedding meal but all our guest raved about it.

    Everything is made in house from the hand crafted sodas our signature drink " Scholly" the best potatoes au gratin and the list goes on.
    The Venue is very well maintained and the booking and planing was effortless .

    My brothers and I threw our mom's 60th birthday on February 15, 2015. From the beginning of the process of booking the venue to the special night, Renaissance Event Hall and the entire staff were beyond what we expected.
    My siblings and I are very particular with the entire planning of my mom's special day. I made a detailed program and schedules for the entire night in which the Renaissance Event Hall & staffs elegantly and respectfully followed. It was such a smooth sailing party that everyone of our guests even our relatives were in such a great awe until now. My younger brother who was very particular about the decorations and the table arrangements, the Renaissance Event Hall and the staffs were understanding to our wishes.
    My older brother who handled the types of food & drinks. Renaissance Event Hall & staff thoroughly explained and showed us the varieties of food &drinks. We were content on how Renaissance Event Hall & staff accommodated one of my mom's dear friend for her special diet. Overall, to the staff from the coat check, servers, bartenders and everybody, we thank you for your excellent customer service.

    Last but not least, To Jessica Nieves and Gigi Gurbuz, we thank you for helping our vision to come true.. My family and I greatly appreciate you both for making my mom's 60th Birthday Party A Night To Remember.

    At first I thought the price to have our ceremony at the location was high but then I looked at the value in terms of not having to move from somewhere else and the convenience of it all and the value of it was worth it. The food was delicious and I had amazing interactions with the staff that was there. I was extremely satisfied and happy wight the results.

    My wife and I had our wedding here in April and we were overwhelmed with excitement. When we picked Renaissance, we were mostly pleased by the intimacy of having a private event and the awesome prices. Our wedding day was the best in food, drinks and service. Everyone still talks about the food and the wedding period. I would recommend this place to anyone.

    My husband and I recently held our small (65-70 people) wedding reception here and I must say that our day was amazing. The venue is very nice inside (even though there is some construction going on next door and scaffolding) and is more like a restaurant than a "hall." I was able to create a menu that suited my guests and culture (African-American, Hispanic etc) and we chose to have action stations and a buffet style, which worked perfectly.

    The price was very reasonable considering the fact that we had a ton of food, open premium bar all night, and the tables, chairs and linens etc were all included. All we brought were the centerpieces, the wedding cake (which they could have made), and our own uplights because we found them for a cheaper price than the venue's price.

    We had a coat check and although there was plenty of street parking in the area, they do offer a valet service. I should note that we had a large band and a DJ, which I swore would not be able to fit on the stage, but they fit!

    Renaissance went above and beyond to make my day special. Jessica crafted a perfect menu for me and my Puerto Rican theme, the food, desserts, and drinks were perfect. The Venue is gorgeous and service spectacular.
    I would highly reccomend this venue and would use it for any event in the future.

    My brother’s Wedding was amazing! We were hosted so warm and elegant at the Renaissance. I really love food and service there. The space is decorated with style and its special taste of kind late Victorian but modern style. The party was as we expected. Everything smoothly went with scheduled plan of the reception along the great atmosphere. I am next getting married in my family and will surely organize it at the Renaissance!!

    My fiance and I had come to the wedding expo and met Jessica. She was overwhelmingly helpful with everything and we were so impressed that we booked on the spot!

    We got a little folder with our picture and some champagne to celebrate locking in our date! The details were really great.

    The space:
    It's big, beautiful, and well kept. There are so many different options you have from a formal sit down dinner to a cocktail party. It's really impressive!

    The Food: Unbelievable. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. I can't say enough about how good the food was. It was always hot too!

    The service: Flawless. Everyone there was so nice. They were very diligent in taking away any garbage left behind, there was never a empty glass or dirty plate sitting around. Very proportionately staffed. They were all so nice and helpful, the bartender has a great pour! Everything was perfectly timed. This is how service is supposed to be. Those servers really cared.

    Communication/responsiveness: I never had a problem getting in touch with Jessica and she was always very willing to meet. Anytime we had a meeting I would immediately get an email confirming an appointment in the calendar. This is very helpful since my now husband and I are very organized.

    Value/Price: For what you get, it's worth every penny. There may be cheaper options in the area, but I would pay the extra money to have any event here.

    The best part - JESSICA!!!!: Jessica has been so helpful throughout the entire process. Not only is she in charge of sales and marketing, but she is also the head chef. We sat down with her to go over different options and customized packages to fit our budget and our taste. She came up with amazing options for the food that she was making up off the top of her head after we had discussed with her what kind of food we liked. I cannot thank her enough for my wedding being perfectly executed.

    Wow wow wow is all we can say… whenever we think of the absolutely amazing wedding we had at the Renaissance!! From start to finish they were so very helpful and efficient!     My husband and I had our wedding at the Renaissance Event Hall in March. Jessica was our wedding coordinator and she was just amazing. All Staff was so kind and so friendly. They made you feel like you were part of a family. The venue itself is so elegant and classy. Very warm and cozy. The food was phenomenal. I would highly recommended it. My family and I plan to have a family reunion there sometime in the next year. It was just wonderful.

    Renaissance is one very beautiful and nice place in Astoria, I am so happy that our wedding took place there. The first thought that popped in my head when I saw this place was...WOW… Beautiful doesn't even begin to describe it, the staircase are majestic, I felt like a real princess on the day off we put a lot of flowers on the railing and it looked amazing. The process of planning an event here was so easy , the staff is professional and read your mind. If you choose to have your event here you will not be disappointed at all.

    I had my surprise Bridal shower here and Wow....I was really SURPRISED!!!

    I didn't know this place existed. It was so beautiful and elegant. I was amazed by the ambiance with the modern decor and the fact that it has two floors. Cocktail hour was upstairs and the food was Awesome!! The best i ever had in a catering hall. Not your typical catering hall...Italian based menu. Drinks were also displayed on the beautiful bar(s)-(There's 2 bars!!). There was such a variety and the mojitos are the best! Most important for me was the service...everyone was so friendly and attentive, the entire night. Dinner was held downstairs which was so cool because I made a grand entrance with the spotlights on me...I really felt special. the tables looked so beautiful with the colored linens and chargers. My friends did a great job setting this up. They chose to have a buffet for dinner service and there was again a great variety of food and the buffet itself was this awesome.... a wooden pallet table with green apples and candles...So unique!!The place screams Unique!

    Overall I was very happy with how my party turned out. After finding out how much prices were for this hall.... because I was curious about my wedding.... I was happy to hear they were in my budget,...very reasonable and you get a lot for your money. They also allow you to customize your wedding by adding on unique decorations or using their sound system or uplights like my family chose for my bridal shower. I guess not everyone needs to have these add-on's because every wedding/event is different which is why I like that they don't try to make you get an all-inclusive package.     We had our wedding on 4/26/14 at Renaissance which was absolutely perfect. The service from the wedding coordinators to the day of was flawless. We didn't have to worry about anything, my wife and I were absolutely calm about everything. Our guests loved the food and the hand crafted sodas, the atmosphere and danced all night. We wished the cocktail hour to be a little bit longer, because we had a lot of people late. I would highly recommend Renaissance!

    Wow from the moment we walk in it was breath taking! I was bit bit scared because I thought in a placce like this the food would be the old traditional rubbery wedding food...was I wrongggg. Jessica took care of us. She listen to every request we had.she did not wanted me to worried about anything on the day of the wedding and that exactly what I did. ALL the detail, the decor the food everything was great..I still have people talking about the food how delicious n to the point it was..the waiter were all greatt very warm and friendly and very welcoming..please do not be intimidated Jessica is very accommodating she will make you feel like family and all you have to do is show up to your big day.     The Renaissance is one of NY's best kept secrets. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to see a very modern and inviting space.     We viewed a few venues before viewing Renaissance and was floored when we viewed this one...it's beautiful and simple and it fit our needs. The food was great from the cocktail hour to the main course and dessert!! The staff was very courteous and attentive and of course, the chef was amazing!!     My daughter's Sweet Sixteen party was fabulous due to the professionalism of the personnel. They guided us through the process with care and understanding. Made suggestions, food tastings, decor etc.

    My Sweet Sixteen was one of my greatest experiences. The service, lighting ,food, assistance, and organization was perfect. Jessica Nieves, our event organizer was great. She went out of her way for us and worked hard to make my party a success. Also she was more like a big sister to me and she still keeps in contact until this day.     Whatever review was written on The Renaissance of Astoria, PLEASE have in mind it was from YEARS ago. There is NEW staff and it WASN'T at all what was written!! Just look at their website and see for yourself!! http://www.renaissanceofastoria.com/

    Finding The Renaissance of the Astoria was sort of like finding a diamond on a muddy road. I had searched and searched for different places, but upon seeing The Renaissance of Astoria it was definitely "love at first sight". I was hesitant on how much a dazzling place as so would cost us, but at The Renaissance of Astoria they worked with our budget and offered us the best deal. Little did I know, it wasn't just appearance that was magnificent, it was every process working with them (especially Teresa Lisson). Teresa was an absolute pleasure to work with, she was always very friendly and helpful. Her passion for making your day special is evident from the moment of meeting her, she embodies so much professionalism and class which you will love the end product.
    The wedding day, what can I say, I am still speachless. My husband and I were overwhelmed when we walked in. It's not surprising that it lived up to our expectations. Everything came out just perfect. All the staff were friendly, professional and enthusiastic. The food and service were both excellent. The room looked stunning! So many of our guests remarked on how excellent the food was, how lovely the staff was, and how spectacular everything came out. A huge plus to The Renaissance of Astoria is that it is one event at a time, so you know you are getting 100% of everyone there, which we definitely felt like we were getting. I loved The Renaissance of Astoria, and would recommend it in a heart beat. I wish me and my husband can get married again to be there. -CP

    Finding The Renaissance of the Astoria was sort of like finding a diamond on a muddy road. I had searched and searched for different places, but upon seeing The Renaissance of Astoria it was definitely "love at first sight". I was hesitant on how much a dazzling place as so would cost us, but at The Renaissance of Astoria they worked with our budget and offered us the best deal. Little did I know, it wasn't just appearance that was magnificent, it was every process working with them (especially Teresa Lisson). Teresa was an absolute pleasure to work with, she was always very friendly and helpful. Her passion for making your day special is evident from the moment of meeting her, she embodies so much professionalism and class which you will love the end product.
    The wedding day, what can I say, I am still speachless. My husband and I were overwhelmed when we walked in. It's not surprising that it lived up to our expectations. Everything came out just perfect. All the staff were friendly, professional and enthusiastic. The food and service were both excellent. The room looked stunning! So many of our guests remarked on how excellent the food was, how lovely the staff was, and how spectacular everything came out. A huge plus to The Renaissance of Astoria is that it is one event at a time, so you know you are getting 100% of everyone there, which we definitely felt like we were getting. I loved The Renaissance of Astoria, and would recommend it in a heart beat. I wish me and my husband can get married again to be there. -CP

    Renaissance Event Hall was the 3rd and last venue we looked and it was definitely a breath of fresh air and a sigh of relief all at the same time. We were looking for a place to do both the ceremony and reception for 120 people. Not only did Renaissance fit the bill in terms of space- they also have many packages and options for every price point and you don't feel like you're skimping when you choose some of the more thrifty packages.

    At 120 people, we felt that the space was intimate but not crowded- all of our guests were able to fit nicely in the 13 tables for the reception. While there was plenty of space on the dance floor for everyone to dance all at once- it was not so big that it felt awkward when only a few people wanted to dance. My guests all felt it was a great romantic - but not over the top venue (i.e. no gaudy chandeliers)

    Brenda made us feel really taken care of - she not only listened to what we needed and wanted, she also offered plenty of solutions and advice when we were faltering in some of our decision making. Communication and responsiveness was really top notch.

    The food was really great and something that my husband I cared a lot about- they were flexible in adding tacos to the cocktail hour menu, even though they didn't offer it. My parents and guests are still talking about the roast pig carving station- it was so delicious and well prepared. They definitely listened to our feedback from our food tasting and incorporated our comments very well. There was some sort of miss-hap in the kitchen that led to a delay in some of the food being served for dinner- but the staff was so apologetic. In the end, it was handled in a way that our guests didn't really notice even though I was worried about the timing.

    To be completely honest I wasn't initially impressed with this venue. I was worried about fitting 120 people in the space but we were running out of time to find a venue and needed to make a decision. We went in for a tasting the food was ok but for everything we were going to get it was the best value so we decided to book it. The wedding planners were always available when I had a question and I could always stop by to walk around or show a friend the space. They really made me feel like I was in control. The day of the wedding was PERFECT! All of my worries were unnecessary. Paul and everyone did a great job making sure we had everything we needed and the food was SO good. If you are looking for an easy planning no fuss with great quality and value, this is the place for you.

    The first time i saw this place i fell in LOVE with it. i been looking for a place for my wedding for months. When i meet a woman by the name of "Teresa" which was the manger she was sooo nice. My wedding was 2yrs away and she didint care about how far it was she gave me her word when she told me she would help me make this the BEST day of my life,and she kept her promise.

    The staff been soo good to me everytime i would call to ask a question about something , or see how i was doing as the time was getting closer.My wedding was a wonderful turnout,i wouldnt change it for the world. The food was the BomB,thank you Jessica!! People are still talking about how beautiful I was and of course the place!!!!!! :) I just want to tell the Renaissance Team Thank You for everything and this would not be the last time you guys see me for a party in there,i would be back!!! Prob. my Baby Shower!!!!

    Beyond and Above service

    My friend Diana had her wedding her past December and it was absolutely beautiful, it is a stunning venue, the food and attentive service are really great!

    Great value, couple of mishaps but had a great time

    We had a beautiful wedding here and thought the venue was so accommodating during the wedding planning. We had 200+ guests so it was a large party and some of my guests didn't speak english so there might have been a language barrier. We would give it 5 stars but there were some hiccups during the wedding. 1. During the planning, we requested the food to be served as a buffet along with all of the cake but they saved the top tier for us...Our cake was split into 3 flavors and so they saved us the whole top tier which was my favorite flavor but I wanted my guests to have it, not me. 2. Also we had asked beforehand if we should get a Day of Coordinator and they said that it wouldn't be necessary and so we didn't hire one. We mentioned that our bridal attendant was a little too friendly and was in our faces too much. I had to kick people out of the bridal suite myself and she seemed a little frantic in general the day of which made us nervous. The venue said typically she would liaison with our Day of Coordinator but we didn't have one.....because they told us we didn't need one... 3. At the buffet, they were supposed to go to each table and call them to the buffet but after the 5th table, people started to go up and get the food themselves because they were not notified of when to go to the buffet. 4. According to the my husband, the cocktail hr was a little crowded in the balcony area for 200+ people which is why people went out into the outdoor terrace and into the bridal suite eventually since someone left the door wide open. At the end of the day, the venue is beautiful and we had a great time. Brian was our coordinator and he was a real trooper. There are always going to be hiccups along the way but do yourself a favor and get a day of coordinator for your own piece of mind.

    Very happy with everything they had to offer. No complaints about anything except that waiters should not rush to take plates away if guests haven't finished eating.

    We looked...we searched...we weighed our options...and we are SO glad we picked the Rennaissance for our November wedding. Jessica, our event planner, was fantastic. She is a foodie, like us, and took time to come up with inventive, non-conventional hours d'oeuvres for our guests that were seasonal, fresh, and delicious. The entire event went off without a hitch and our guests were talking about the great time they had for weeks to come. Not to mention the amazing value per person we received, given the amount of scrumptous food and quality of the open bar. Drunk guests = good wedding :) thank you all for the most amazing day of our lives!

    Jessica at the Renaissance event hall is very organized and she will get you through the whole process. She even comes to the bridal suite to check on the brides. The place is beautiful for pictures along with the service and food everything was great!

    The Renaissance Event Hall is truly beautiful, dark wood, wrought iron, light marble- just wonderful! We fell in love with it as soon as we walked in. The value is incredible- we were able to have a fantastic wedding for a VERY reasonable price there! Jessica was awesome to work with- she was super helpful and knowledgeable about food. I am a gluten free vegetarian but my fiance is not. She made sure that the entire menu was gluten free and that the kitchen was not contaminated by gluten. The food was really delicious and everyone was very happy with their meals. We were very happy with our experience there and would not have wanted our wedding anywhere else. That being said; we have a few "issues" with the way that everything went. The staff need to work on their communication between one another. We had a couple instances where we got emails asking for payments and information that had already been taken care of with someone else. Also, make sure that your coordinator is present for your rehearsal- even if they tell you it isn't necessary to be there; trust me: it is! We had a number of issues at our rehearsal that would have not existed if Jessica had been there. Also, (and this is just a personal preference) the night of the wedding the maitre de was a little too "hands-on", constantly asking questions and checking in with us. I found this really annoying and frustrating since we had already created a timeline and discussed what we wanted to happen. I just wanted to be able to enjoy the time with our friends and family.

    Our guests had an amazing time, they raved about the food and the servers and commented on how polite and nice the bartenders were and how they kept the crowd moving. As the bride and groom, the servers did more than just serve, they helped organize, kept us on track (and keep track of our lost items when we would lay something down), and were so polite! The guests loved the downstairs space and how it felt so intimate. We enjoyed the night thoroughly. We dealt with a number of personnel there during the planning stages and you should definitely meet with Teresa. She was on point with everything and fantastic to work with.

    My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception there on June 24, 2011. We have nothing but great things to say! The food was great... the service was exceptional. The staff there paid very close attention to the details of our special day and handled the night's events with ease. Never once did I have to worry that night. Everything ran smooth from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Renaissance of Astoria also respected our wishes and our limits due to our budget. And let's not forget how great the place looks...it was the PERFECT place for the small, simple, intimate wedding that we had. Our guests loved the warm, welcoming vibe of the venue and we preferred that environment over the huge halls that most venues have. Also, we loved how there was only one event- there was no worry about someone else's party overshadowing ours. We had 100% of the staff's attention which made our experience a very pleasant one. I would definately recommend this location to anyone who wants a unique venue.

    Unforgettable Thursday

    We had our wedding reception here in July 2022 and it was so magical! Maritza and Lisa were amazing coordinators and we could not have pulled it off without their help. Maritza helped us brainstorm ideas and coordinated everything we needed until the last minute of our special day. The wait staff during the event were friendly and very efficient. Food was great and abundant! The space is so big and inviting and we were able to decorate it just like we wanted. The dance floor was huge and the sound system was perfect. Cannot recommend this place enough, we absolutely loved it!!

    My prior venue was cancelled and The Renaissance looked so beautiful i couldn't resist, i called and spoke to Paul and he took all of my worries away. It was only a week away from the event and Paul made everything run perfectly and smoothly. Brenda helped out with decorations and linens/set up of everything. I was a bit scared when they did not set up until and hour before the event, but everything came together so perfect and magical.The entrance was my favorite part of the event, those stairs give a great entrance for all of your guest. Cocktail hour ran so smoothly and the food was so tasty. Since i had no time for food tasting i was a bit sceptical about the food, dessert and drinks. And being a picky bride, i can assure you the food was fabulous! Dessert and drinks were amazing as well. All of my guest were endlessly speaking about the ambiance of how romantic this venue was and how great the food and service was. They loved the chocolate cake for dessert and the anger steak for dinner. Even though this was an "engagement party" it was basically a wedding as everyone stated and it was just perfect! Paul and Brenda were very attentive and kind. The Manager of staff that took over the party was so kind and helpful with anything i needed! He knew exactly what my fiance and i wanted and delivered it perfectly. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone! Romantic, unique, amazing staff and amazing food , there is nothing more to say but , Renaissance Event Hall should be your number one pick! My guest are still talking about this party and venue, Thank you Renaissance Event Hall !

    Our overall experience with Renaissance was pleasant. Our point of contact was Jessica. She was really great and acted professionally everytime.

    We loved that we were invited to sample their menu. This helped us to make better decisions as to what we wanted our guests to have as well as really cement our decision about going with this venue. We were really pleased with everything we sampled.

    The only complaint we heard from our guests was that many of those who ordered steak did not get it prepared as they had asked. Most of the steak dishes came out rare. Also, some people had asked for a particular kind of alcohol that we definitely had paid for and they were told that they had run out of it. Mind you it was still early in the night. A few minutes later they were serving it.

    Other than that, we all had a good experience. The hall looked amazing, very neat and presentable. The waitstaff was great. Everyone was tended to quickly and efficiently. All glasses were filled, dishes were brought out quickly. And afterwards, dishes were removed quickly. The staff was really friendly which made everyone feel comfortable. They all looked polished and we loved the way they all came out at the same time from the kitchen, forming a line to walk to either side of the room. It looked really professional.
    We loved that at the end of the night, the staff was not chasing everyone out the door. They cleaned up swiftly around everyone and didn't start removing things from the tables before the event was completely over, as many places do and is so rude. The Renaissance staff was so accommodating they even helped us with numbers to taxi services, packaging some of the left over bottles of liquor we had brought in, and gathering some of the things we had brought that we needed to get back.

    Jessica really pulled the whole night together and kept everything moving very smoothly. Thank you!!!

    We booked Renaissance more than a year in advance of our ceremony. I of course was stressed that they did not contact me as the date drew closer and had to pester them as to what my next steps were in terms of ensuring payment and menu selections. Once that was all out of the way, I have nothing but rave reviews. Kevin was exceptional in putting together my design of floral arrangements. It saved me from having to get a floral planner to set up the arrangements. The flexibility was fantastic. The menu had changed in the time I had booked the space, however they let me use the original menu. The room was gorgeous and my guests loved the food. Kevin was great in setting up the timing of the night and he ensured that all went smooth. I highly recommend Renaissance if you are looking for a unique space in Astoria Queens.

    My husband and I were looking for a venue for an intimate reception of about 80 guests. We didn't have a big budget and didn't have much time to look for a caterer, decorator etc. GiGi at Renaissance took care of everything. She was always responsive to our emails and suggested ideas and looks when we were at a lost.
    I'd have my wedding here again in a heartbeat. The set up of the venue with the upstairs and downstairs creates a cocktail hour into dinner/dance transition seamless. All of the guests said they loved the food.
    We were a simple couple so it was perfect for us, food, lighting was taken care of and we had our own decorations to add to make it personal.
    The only downside is that it is not the easiest to arrive at if taking public transportation but for the price and venue hall, I think it's worth it.

    We had our wedding here recently and overall we were very happy. We missed the general food tastings that they offer, so had no idea what the food would taste like, but found that it was really great. Our guests enjoyed it too! They say that the max number of guests is something like 299, but we had just over 100 guests and I think any more would have started to feel cramped. I think this venue is perfect (if you are including dinner) for up to 150 guests max. They are currently expanding though so I imagine that within the next year, the new space will be able to comfortably hold a larger number of guests.

    PROS:
    -- Budget friendly (especially compared to most Manhattan wedding options!).
    -- one-stop shopping (they have options for everything you need, from food, to ceremony, to decor, chair decorations, lighting, etc.). We didn't have a wedding planner so this made it a lot easier to get everything we needed.
    -- Sound system is great, generally good acoustics.
    -- Elegant decor
    -- Food is good
    -- Nice lighting designs
    -- Discount relationships with certain vendors -- we used Astor Bake Shop for our cake, which not only avoided added "cake-cutting" fees, but they were nearby and were actually really great. The cake was so tasty!

    CONS:
    -- Some mis-communication with email, but overall easy to work with staff.
    -- Not the best area (about a mile from the closest subway stop), but easy enough to get a cab and close to many points of the city and you are inside anyway, so you hardly notice.

    Overall we were really very happy with this point for our wedding. We didn't have too many original decorations and it still looked wonderful, especially with the lighting design options that they offer. We had basic center pieces and chose the lighting options, but didn't really have any other flower arrangements and it looked beautiful.

    Book this venue for a unique event, if your looking for a carbon copy reception that your relatives had or someone you know, then by all means book elsewhere.
    This venue is unique and fun and beautiful, and most of all personal. You can make your dreams a reality here, your vision can be accomplished!

    We had a hard time finding a wedding venue in Queens that fit both our tastes and our budget. We both grew up and still live in Queens so it was important to us that we got married and celebrated here. It seemed hopeless. We finally checked out the Renaissance. The first thing that we noticed was the decor. The place is beautiful without being gaudy or stuffy and the layout is very unique. We loved the bar and the cocktail areas which overlook the event space. It has a warm and laid back yet classy feel.They offer a wide range of packages and they all are customizable which is great if you're on a budget but it also works if you have extra money to burn becasue they offer more expensive packages and even more little extra add-ons. They only hold one event per day so you don't have to worry about feeling rushed in or out and the attention is all on you. We held the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception there so that was pretty convenient. The staff was able to set up for the ceremony and then transform the space into the reception while everyone enjoyed the cockail hour upstairs. Everything ran on time and as scheduled whithout a hitch. The tasting made me very nervous because there were so many people there and I didn't think the food was that impressive. However, on the day of my wedding, everything was SO good and everyone raved. I attribute the great food and service to the fact that we only had 75 people as opposed to what seemed like hundreds at the tasting. I think if you are going to have a plated dinner for under 100 people you will be very impressed with the food and the service. I cannot speak for very large parties or the buffet option. Overall, I was very pleased. We had a great time. All of our guests had a great time. I've received a lot of compliments. The staff did a great job. They were very attentive to me and my husband and made sure we are taken care of the entire night.

    The space is overall very beautiful and romantic. You have the entire space to yourself. There's a wrap around balcony and an awesome winding staircase for the bride to make her way down the aisle.The outside however, is unimpressive and they need to do something about that. There was a changing of the guard 1 week before my wedding but it was handled tastefully and professionally. What brought my rating down was the robotic, dictatorial treatment I received from the maitre'd. The rest of the wait staff was fine. The food was just OK, definitely not extraordinary or above average. The other complaint I have is that I did not receive all of my stuff back and no one seemed to care about that.

    Great Venue, Needs a little Improvement.

    Rennisance event hall is a hidden gem, the decor of the venue is clean and modern, a rarity amongst banquet halls that I don't think you'll find anywhere else. the fact that everything is included will save you so much stress not to mention money. The food there is outstanding!! We got so many complements on the food, you could tell that they really put pride and detail into their food. The staff there was utterly delightful, super nice and accommodating especially our bridal suite attendant. There are only a few issues/cons that I will just quickly list below:

    • Communication leaves much to be desired, it was hard to get ahold of the Manager and staff and they where slow to respond via email, which caused me a lot of stress and worry.
    • Collaboration between the banquent manger, Matre D and Wedding Coordinator was poor, causing the day of to be hectic. no one know who was responsible for storing the cake and so when they realized that they didn't have a cake, minutes before we where supposed to cut the cake, they where running around like chickens with their heads cut off, all three of them came up to me on separate occasions asking ME where the cake was, are you serious? Also at the end of the night between the three of them, no one made sure that all my decorations, etc where placed in the proper location for me to retrive, I had things that where missing and broken, at the end of the night I couldn't find anyone so I had to go looking around the venue for my stuff collecting table numbers, etc, have you even known a bride to clean up after her own wedding? due to this, I was never able to recover my bridal bouquet.
    • The bridal suite could have been set up a little nicer, maybe some more mirrors, a carpet and some more couches. there where some odd bistro sets and picnic tables in there that looked like they belonged outdoors and they had this built in seating in the back that had rugged wood edged and nails that ripped my bridal robe when I sat on it. They should keep in mind that the bridal suite is somewhere where the bride and bridesmaids will be getting ready, relaxing and lounging for a long period of time, make it comfortable and private.
    • During the ceremony a guest knocked over a vase filled with water, for some reason no one on the staff knew what to do and they spent way too long trying to mop up water. this caused the schedule to be behind, which caused me to have to pay the violinists and extra $800!!! who has $800 lying around after saving up for 18 months for a wedding?

    I really think that they have a lot of kinks to iron out but I think they are getting there. my advice to you is to hire an outside wedding planner who is going to be very vigilant and on top of everything with them.
    Other than that is was a beautiful wedding!

    Too many negative things to say about the service. The hall itself is beautiful and they do one affair at a time. I did sue them for service issues surrounding the night of my reception and won.

    Everything was wonderful until the day before the wedding.
    I had planned on bring in champagne bottles as wedding favors and we had about 12 boxes to drop off along with a 6 foot signing board and other boards and frames. They were prepping for an event that evening and not once did any staff offer to help. Mind you, we were only given a short time frame for dropping off our stuff and in turn, I wasn't able to get my nails done for my wedding.
    Then, on the day of, from the minute I stepped into the hall, I was hounded for money from a pack of hyenas. My fiance and I had paid them in full a few days before the wedding. Turns out, they had calculated more people than I had told them from my place cards. There was a back and forth about how 10 people were not accounted for. I knew they were. As a bride, there is nowhere im supposed to keep an extra $700 they were asking of me and they kept on hounding me in front of my Bridal Party. I finally had to tell them to back off and handle it with my parents. My parents were nice enough to contact someone to bring them $ from home and until this person didn't come, Renaissance refused to let anyone proceed to the reception after cocktail hour until they were paid. Then, once my wedding coordinator argued with them, they refused to start dinner until they were paid. A good hour of my reception was wasted over $700. What happened after the back and forth? 10 people ended up not coming.
    I paid an extra $100 to get four 9x13 pans of leftover food. After the party was finished and all the guests were gone I went downstairs to the bathroom and saw ALL staff taking multiple aluminum pans of food home with them. Staff had already eaten prior to the event starting. Guess the extra $700 went towards feeding staff and their families.
    Overall, if I could do it over again, I'd have my event elsewhere. If it werent for my Day of Coordinator, shit would have hit the fan. Save yourself a headache.
