    Wonderful experience

    From the early stages of planning, the staff at The Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel was very easy to work with. They were quick to respond to all of our inquiries, and were very helpful in guiding us through each step in the planning process.

    Excellent Communication and Venue

    This is long overdue but here it goes. Recently (in March) my sister had her wedding at this venue and let me tell you: they are so easy and professional to work with. We had a Pakistani Wedding and since the beginning both Joy and Katherine worked with us to make this wedding a possibility. Being a brown family is not easy when you have too many changes and the ladies were very accommodating and understanding from the beginning with our changes. We had room issue too for the bridal suite and yet it was taken care of with utmost care and they even complimentary gave us 2 extra nights for the mishaps from their cleaning crew. The way they worked with us and our vendors was really helpful. Everything was transparent and the communication leading up to the wedding was very professional. Thank you!

    Alina/ Majid Weddiing

    I booked wedding venue at Renaissance Harborplace hotel Baltimore Md for my daughter’s Wedding on December 17th 2022. The two very polite yet professional, Joy Bird and Nadine Titer helped and supported me in every detail of any and all logistics. Nadine was always available so much so she supervised the event the night of 17th. Every guest was pleased with the standard of the services offered by her team. I deeply appreciate and highly recommend. Thank you again Nadine, Joy and team.

    amazing wedding venue!

    I had my new years ish wedding here - I cannot say enough about how wonderful the team and staff are! Karen Norris was our coordinator and made the day a DREAM! The coordination and communication was fantastic, the staff are phenomenal and the food was AMAZING! Highly recommend!

    Wedding Day Success

    Such an amazing team at the Renaissance! Karen was our coordinator— she was very accommodating and helped to make our day successful and seamless. The hotel was newly renovated, so our suites exceeded our expectations and were extremely spacious and comfortable. The food was out of this world delicious and our guest still call us to say how good it was. Thank you Karen, Casey, and the team at the Renaissance!

    Joy and her team as well as the entire staff at the Renaissance Hotel were unbelievabley accommodating. We celebrated our entire wedding weekend at the hotel and the service in every aspect was top notch. We used the Watertable room overlooking the harbor for our rehearsal dinner and had our wedding in the Maryland ballroom which we found to be very ascetically pleasing. The weekend was magical. Great value too!

    We are so so glad we went with the Renaissance for our wedding day! From day 1 when we toured the venue through every step of the process and our wedding day, the Renaissance and their staff were amazing! We got married in the Watertable Ballroom, had our cocktail hour in the Watertable Foyer, and our reception in the Watertable Ballroom. The space, the food, everything was absolutely perfect! Allison Craig was our event manager and she was more than accommodating. She made sure we had everything we needed, and was extremely responsive every step of the way. The fire alarm went off during our reception and Allison was super apologetic, even though there was nothing she could have done for it, but she gave us some extra time for our band to play which was extremely kind. When we got back to our room, there was a bottle of champagne waiting. We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day and are extremely grateful to the Renaissance for the part they played in it!

    My entire experience with the Renaissance was fabulous. My catering Sales Executive, Libby was phenomenal. She was pleasant and was able to accommodate my companies needs. Our event planner Joy was nothing short of amazing, she was able to bring our party to life. The entire staff a the Renaissance is great.

    Absolutely stunning venue! Edward Good and Susan Fortkiewicz were absolutely great! Susan answered every question we had while trying to chose a venue. Edward is absolutely the best! He was extremely accommodating and made our wedding exactly what we envisioned. From beginning to end, Edward did not disappoint. Our guests loved the hotel rooms and raved about how delicious the food was at cocktail hour and dinner.

    Devon and the Renaissance Harborplace were wonderful with planning the ceremony and reception and with making sure the night went as smoothly as possible! From getting ready to getting us lined up for our entrances, Devon was so patient and professional. She and the other members of the Renaissance Harborplace were experienced and calming, and we and our guests had a lovely time. I would wholeheartedly recommend this beautiful venue to any couple!

    The Renaissance Harbor place Hotel was the perfect location to book rooms for all my out of town guests. They were affordable and set in the perfect location to offer my guests the best the Inner Harbor has to offer. I love working with Gina Laurey in group planning. She was insightful and flexible given the nontraditional nature of our wedding. We absolutely loved the laid back atmosphere of the Water Table Restaurant. Even though we were their for our rehearsal dinner on an evening where lots of other weddings were taking place we felt every bit as special. I can't wait to stay there the next time I am in town!

    The Renaissance was the perfect venue for us. You can't beat the views and location, the space is beautiful, the food was amazing, and the staff was the best! Susan- the sales manager was great at ensuring everything we wanted could be accomplished before we signed the contract. She was wonderful to work with and checked in with us several times throughout the planning process. Our coordinator, Devon was amazing. She was super responsive and not once did she tell us "no- that can't be done". She made our day the best day of our lives! I would highly recommend for your elegant and unforgettable Inner Harbor Wedding!

    This is the second year I have worked with the Renaissance on our Gala. They make my job easy. They are there to support you from start to finish. The staff is professional and courteous and willing to help in any way possible. The food is excellent and the service top notch.

    We recently had our daughter's ceremony and reception at the Renaissance, and everything was wonderful. We worked with Edward, the event planner, and he was fantastic to work with - so responsive, and very focused on making sure the hotel delivered on everything we needed to have a day we will never forget. There wasn't anything we asked for that he didn't find a way to deliver. It was truly a wonderful experience.

    Great location. Spectacular wedding. Everything that we wanted. We worked with Susan as our sales manager and Edward Good as our wedding planner and they made the whole process very easy. From start to finish - perfection.

    We had our daughter's wedding at Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel and were very pleased with how our three days event was flawless.
    Melissa was in sales and My daughter and I felt at ease talking to her and working with the wedding contract.
    Edward Good made it happen. He was up to the point carrying through the minute details. He was always approachable.
    I have recommended this hotel and Edward Good to many of my friends who are looking for wedding venue.
    At last the whole staff was happy to serve 500+ of my guests.
    It was fun event for us, our families and friends.

    We had our wedding reception at the Renaissance and it was more than I could have asked for! The staff is amazing and Edward is fantastic!! Everyone keeps talking about how the food was the best they have ever had and the service was phenomenal! It's right in inner harbor and the rooms were fantastic!! We got champagne and strawberries and so did our parents! THANKS EDWARD!!! If we could do it all over again, we would! It was the city wedding I had always dreamed of and I'm so glad the Renaissance was a part of our story!

    We were extremely pleased with the ceremony and reception services provided by the Marriott Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace hotel! We had a small, intimate wedding (less than 25 ppl), and the staff there made us feel as if we were the most important event taking place at the hotel that day! Our initial conversation and meeting with Susan Fortkiewicz (Sr. Catering Sales Executive) was such a pleasant experience, that we were sold almost immediately on having this hotel host our wedding. Her personality, as well as her offers to accommodate our needs, made it an easy decision for us. Edward Good (Sr. Event Manager) was the "icing on the cake!" He became our "personal" coordinator throughout the entire event!! Every staff member that we encountered made our entire experience as special as we were hoping it would be! I would highly recommend both Susan and Edward, as well as the Renaissance Harborplace, for any event which you may have coming up in the future!

    We had our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception at the Renaissance and it was fantastic. We worked mainly with Edward Good- the event coordinator- who made sure everything happened just as we had planned it. We had a few specific things that we wanted placed at each table at the reception, along with homemade centerpieces, and the staff executed our vision flawlessly. Throughout the wedding process, Edward was responsive and helpful, replying to our emails immediately. During our in-person meetings, he was always sure to calm our nerves with any concerns that we had. Edward knows what he’s doing and can be very direct- which was appreciated on our end- but a more sensitive person might take offense. You can trust that he will take care of things and is on your side to make your wedding great. He upgraded our original ballroom to a bigger one, did our rehearsal for a large bridal party in under 30 mins, and helped us do a next day breakfast while giving us the Watertable room for privacy. The champagne and strawberries for us and our parents he sent the night of the wedding was also a nice surprise.

    The hotel itself was a lovely backdrop to our event. We had 2 sections of the Maryland Ballroom which was the perfect size for a 200 person wedding- plenty of room on the dance floor. The food was amazing and the drinks were flowing (note- servers would not serve shots). The room we had for day-of getting ready was beautiful and easily fit 8 bridesmaids, hair and makeup stylists and visitors throughout the day. Our entire guest list was from out of town and everyone was very impressed with their room. One minor issue was the distribution of gift bags to our room block- we had a few guests who did not receive theirs upon check-in. This was not the fault of the event staff, more likely a front desk issue, but just a note. We would highly recommend the Renaissance as a wedding venue- the food, the location, the event rooms, and the staff were all great!

    This place was incredible. Everywhere you went in the hotel someone was there to give you help. Edward the wedding event coordinator was fabulous. He was always available for us before the wedding and then he was there to make the entire weekend perfect.

    I cannot thank the Renaissance enough for putting on a beautiful, flawless wedding. We are still receiving compliments on how amazing the food was. The entire planning process went so smoothly. Melissa was great in the beginning making sure we were comfortable with the contract. Once the event was passed to Edward, he took the reins and answered every single question I had along the way in such a timely manner. I never had one single thing to worry about. He was such a pleasure to work with and made me feel 100% comfortable in the weeks leading up to the wedding. The reception was beautiful and not one single detail was left out. I have absolutely no complaints and I would recommend the Renaissance to ANYONE looking for a venue in Baltimore. It is a great location, especially for out of town guests, and they are more than accomodating. I could go on and on, but overall I'm so pleased with everything and wish I could do it all over again with them.

    The Renaissance Harborplace Hotel was my reception venue. The hotel was absolutely beautiful and it was perfect for our out of town guests as it is located in the heart of the inner harbor. We had 110 guests and the view of the harbor was breathtaking and served as a great background for our cocktail hour and reception. The food was incredibly delicious and the service was incredible. Edward Good was our reception coordinator and he is extraordinary !! Edward is the best; he is efficient, talented, compassionate, creative and organized. Once we met with him, I knew instantly that my reception would be ultra fabulous and there was NOTHING to worry about. Also, Edward goes above and beyond to honor the parents of the bride and groom and provide extra special services for the bride and groom on their wedding night. All of our guests had a fabulous time and we couldn't be happier with our decision.

    We had the most excellent experience working with the Renaissance hotel - from the sales negotiations with Melissa to the event planning with Edward to the actual wedding reception with the entire Renaissance team. They were so flexible and willing to work with us to make the event exactly what we dreamed of. Edward made us feel comfortable from the first moment that he would take care of everything - and he did. Honestly, they say that only the bride notices when things don't turn out quite the way she wanted, and I am definitely one of those perfectionists who would notice something amiss, but honestly, everything was exactly right. Edward was on top of everything. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. And, obviously, the location can't be beat.

    The Renaissance Harborplace hotel was a perfect location for our wedding. We were very nervous booking a reception/ceremony location for the sole reason that we were planning a wedding from Florida, but the staff at the Renaissance calmed all of our fears. All of the staff members were fabulous during our event weekend.

    Edward Good was especially great. He was always easy to contact and he did everything he could to make sure our night was perfect. The night before the wedding he had champagne and strawberries sent to our parents room which was such a special touch. We truly believe that we would not have had the wedding we did without Edward. He coordinated with all of vendors and made our night a priority.

    And of course, the Renaissance offered so much for such great prices! We were able to tailor a package to our needs and spent at least 1/2 of what our guests thought we did!

    We almost didn't book our wedding here because of cost, but the Renaissance offered so many things that made it unique to Baltimore. I didn't want a wedding we could have had at a hotel anywhere in the country. I wanted th view, the cake from Charm City Cakes and I wanted it right on the harbor. We booked the event through Kathryn Smith and she was able to help us create a more affordable package that had everything we wanted. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the Renaissance. The entire wedding planning experience was so great and I owe a lot of it to our wedding coordinator, Edward Good. He was fantastic about getting back to me promptly and making sure that we had everything planned the way we wanted it. He gave great suggestions and was really great about making sure everything went off without a hitch. He really listened to what was most important to me about our wedding day and I definitely felt like he was doing everything he could to make the day special!
    The food was amazing! Our guests were raving about the food. Everyone said we would barely eat on our wedding day (ate about half the entree before making our rounds), and they were right, but I'm glad our guests got to enjoy all the great food! The set up in the watertable ballroom was wonderful and fit our 75 guests perfectly. The executive suite that Edward upgraded my parents to, and the bridal suite my husband and I got were both absoulutely amazing. The hotel is beautiful and the views were amazing. Our wedding day was perfect and I am so glad that we ended up booking the Renaissance. I can't thank Edward enough for helping to make our wedding so perfect!

    I am so happy that I went with the Renaissance Hotel for our reception location. The majority of my guests were from out of town, and the location of the hotel was perfect. Everyone on the hotel staff was accommodating and I received complements not only from my guests, but my vendors as well.

    Edward Good was an amazing event coordinator and definitely helped make our wedding day spectacular. He was extremely responsive with his emails and phone calls. He worked with me and my parents and made sure that all our our requests were fulfilled. The bridal suite that we stayed in was unbelievable. He made me feel like my happiness was the top priority of the day. He not only focused on the bride and groom, but our parents as well. He treated my in-laws to an anniversary dinner at the hotel and made sure that both of our parents received champagne and strawberries the night of the wedding.

    We keep getting so many great complements about how wonderful and fun the wedding weekend was. The Renaissance Hotel was the perfect location for our wedding and I know that Edward Good did all he could to make sure that it was the happiest day of my and my new husband's life.

    The choice of venue is probably the biggest decision you have when planning your wedding. I am so glad that we went with the Renaissance. I'll be honest and say that it is not cheap to have your wedding there but they make sure that you get every penny's worth out of their service.
    Our planner Kristina was amazing. She was responsive, on top of everything, and I even saw her there at the end of the night gathering up disposable cameras. The food was amazing and there was tons of it. I got so many compliments on the menu. The bridal suite I got was awesome. We had our hair and makeup done in the room and there was so much space to get ready in. The entire staff was so friendly and helpful. So many of my guests have commented on how great the staff was.     The Renaissance was awesome and Edward Good is amazing! I can't say enough good things about Edward. If I could give him higher than a 5 out of 5 I would. He is very efficient and was extremely responsive from beginning to end. Also he is very good at keeping everyone calm and collect, while making sure all operations run smoothly. If there are any snags, you would never know about it. The food and drinks at the reception were awesome. We chose the Renaissance because they allow you to really pick and choose a lot of little details to personalize your wedding package to what you want. A lot of other weddings venues do not allow nearly the same flexibility that the Renaissance does. We went to tour a million other Maryland wedding venues beforehand and NONE of them really allowed much flexibility to deviate from their standard packages. Our bridal suite that came with our silver package was amazing! It had a boday, separate jacuzzi, huge mirrored area to get dressed (which is great for brides and bridesmaids to get dressed), and a separate living room space. It was gorgeous. The wedding and reception were better than we could have ever imagined. Our guests are still talking about how much fun they had and the out of town guests are now huge Baltimore fans.     Nice facilities, perfect location, amazing food and the best customer service! My husband and I held our wedding reception at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel and we could not be happier with our choice.

    First, the facilities were very nice. The hotel lobby and the guest rooms were very clean, modern and updated. Many of our guests were given harbor view rooms, which I would highly recommend. The view was just perfect!

    Second, the location was very convenient for our guests. Most of them were flying in from out of town and by staying at the Renaissance Harborplace, they did not need a car once they arrived. Everything they could want (good food, shopping, site seeing) is within easy walking distance of the hotel. (BTW, if you need your nails done before your wedding, there is nail salon downstairs - Nail Trix). Just ask for Suzie.)

    Third, the food was just amazing. The sesame chicken with mango salsa appetizer was delish and the filet mignon with steak butter was so tender and flavorful, but seriously, EVERYTHING tasted so good. I received many many compliments from my guests about the food.

    Finally, the customer service was just superb. Our event manager, Edward Good, did an amazing job making sure our wedding day was stress-free. The tasting was a lot of fun and very easy. He called our vendors the week of the wedding to confirm all the details. He was always reachable for all of our questions (and we had a lot) and responded very quickly. The days leading up to the wedding, which were very stressful, he was always available to help with whatever we needed. The day of the wedding, he made sure that everything ran on time. He really took care of us. With Edward's help, our day went super smoothly. We were able to just sit back and enjoy the day.

    The Renaissance Harborplace Hotel really was the perfect venue for our special day. I whole-heartedly recommend them to any bride looking for a reception venue.

    Absolutely a beautiful venue for a Baltimore wedding! My husband and I had our ceremony on the terrace and our reception was inside a ballroom. Everyone at the Renaissance was absolutely wonderful and accommodating. Thank you to the sales team for explaining all the various packages they offered. Renaissance's event coordinator, Edward, was awesome! He answered all of my questions- food tasting, venue set up, rehearsal, wedding day time line. Our wedding was executed flawlessly by Edward. All the wait staff was friendly and professional. The food was delicious!

    Our family and friends could not stop talking about our wedding for weeks!

    We had our wedding ceremony out on the Terrace then cocktail hour & the reception at the Watertable Ballroom.

    We had the silver package but, with the leadership of our wedding planner Edward Goode he made it feel like a Platinum wedding.

    All food at the hotel especially our reception dinner was excellent A+ quality. Guests were impressed and extremely satisfied.

    Every employee we encountered in the hotel during our 4 night stay was outgoing and friendly this was the best all around customer service I have ever received or witnessed coming from experience working in hotels.

    This venue is competitively priced compared to other area venues especially considering it is located at the heart of the Inner Harbor and offers views you won't find at most locations.

    My husband and I agree that we received excellent value for our investment and wish we could re-live the day all over again.

    This was the best venue I could have asked for. The location is amazing, and if you are looking to have an outside wedding but have the ease of being located at the hotel where you are staying than this is the place for you.
    1. The venue also comes with a day of coordinator which made life so much easier.
    2. We did not have to pay for travel to and from the ceremony because everthing was housed in one place.
    3. They have the ability to do a gobo and uplighting, for an additional price of cource, but at least I did not have to find the vendor on my own!!!!
    4. The food for the the cocktail hour and reception were also incredible.
    5. My bridal suite was huge!!!! It had a bedroom and seperat living room that fit at least 15 people easily with room to spare.

    All in all, simply and wonderful day. Absolutely no complaints.

    The Renaissance was the perfect choice for our wedding for the following reasons:

    1) The location was unbeatable since it is in the heart of the Inner Harbor. This was the perfect way for out of town guests to get explore Baltimore in such a short amount of time.
    2) We had both our ceremony and reception at the hotel and they did such an amazing job! We had our ceremony in the courtyard of the hotel and then the reception in the Watertable ballroom which had breathtaking views of the harbor. It was beautiful!
    3) The food was amazing! Everything was delicious!
    4) Our event coordinator Edward Good went above and beyond to make our wedding special even when there were some unexpected last minute surprises the day of the wedding. He was so professional and so capable and made us feel that he was there only to make our day as special as possible. I cannot say enough good things about him! There is really nothing within reason that he can't make happen. He even was able to get 2 specific bottles of scotch at cost that the groom wanted served at the bar!
    5) The hotel handles everything! Food, setup, coordinating vendors after you book them, providing a block of hotel rooms for out of town guests, brunch the next day. The list goes on and on.
    6) You get a wedding cake from Charm City Cakes as part of the wedding package!
    7) So many more reasons! Definitely look at this place!

    The Renaissance hotel was perfect! The view over the harbor was breathtaking. Edward was our planner and had 2 rooms set up for us, one for the ceremony and one for the reception/lunch. My parents-in-law were given a beautiful suite and our honeymoon suite was cozy and delightful. All in all I am amazed at how well it all came together in such short time.

    They provided our room block, a suite for DH to use the night before the wedding and for him and his groomsmen to get ready, and for DH and I wedding night, and catered our post-wedding brunch. We had about 70 OOT guests, many who had never been to Baltimore and they all stayed in this hotel. The rate they gave us was about $100 less than if they had booked it alone. Everyone loved the hotel and being able to walk across the street to the Inner Harbor.

    The event coordinator for the brunch was amazing and very responsive, and they handed out bags to all the guests who checked in for us. We even had champaign and chocolate strawberries waiting for us in our room on our wedding night. I have always had good experiences with this hotel in the past and continue to be impressed by their service.

    Our experience with the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel was absolutley stress free. Our coordinator was on top of all of the details and made our wedding day perfect. It was our dream wedding come true thanks to them. The food was outstanding, the quality of the venue was worth the money that was spent on out wedding. One of the perks from using this venue was that with our wedding package our cake was made by Duff Goldman from Ace of Cakes. We had a private meeting with him to design our perfect wedding cake. The day couldn't have been more perfect.

    EDWARD GOOD IS AMAZING!!! He was a delight to work with and KNOWS HIS STUFF!!! I am so happy that we had our wedding at the Renaissance. THe venue was beautiful, the staff and service was excellent, the food was DELICIOUS and everything was perfect.

    I had done a lot of research and when we just looked at numbers, the Renaissance was the best value! We went with the Gold Package and we got so much for our money!

    I could go on and on...if you are looking to have your wedding in Baltimore, you must consider the Renaissance--you will not regret entrusting such an important day to their hands!

    We are extremely happy with our experience working with the Renaissance. The sales team that we delt with was awesome. They listened to what we wanted and needed for our wedding and went above and beyond our expectations. They made sure the contract had everything we needed.

    Once that process was done, we met with the coordinator provided by the hotel. She was amazing. She helped answer all our questions and gave advice/opinions when we were stuck on something. She was with us the whole way, and made planning the wedding a breeze. We had a tasting with her to pick out the menu and cake, and at that time discussed the room layout/decor, and the schedule for the day. It made it very easy to be able to do everything at once, instead of having multiple meetings.

    The day of was perfect. The coordinator was on-call and available for anything that came up. She stayed with us throughout the evening to make sure everything went as planned and made sure everything (gifts, decor, etc) got back up to our room afterward so that we didn't have to worry about anything.

    We got a room block for our out-of-town guests, to make things easier for them. Everyone raved about the hotel and staff, saying that everyone was friendly and extremely helpful.

    We highly recommend booking with the Renaissance.

    Though it took a while for planning to ramp up to my liking, once it got rolling, it was wonderful. They could not have been more accommodating or helpful throughout the whole experience. We are so happy we had our reception at the Renaissance!

    Their customer service is outstanding. This is the main reason we chose this hotel for our wedding. Everything was spectacular. Professional, courteous, friendly, flexible, patient and extremely responsive. No question went unanswered. All our thoughts and ideas were taken into consideration. Renee Simpson and Joy Josey made our day beautiful. Joy is truky a joy to work with and she made sure everything went smoothly and our day was spectacular without any issues. All smiles.

    Though expensive, the Renaissance was a wonderful venue for our wedding. The location on E. Pratt Street across from the inner harbor was beautiful. The entire staff was courteous and accommodating. Our event coordinator, Devon Hassett exceeded our expectations for assistance. Chef Robert's menu of shrimp, crab and beef was full of flavor and creativity. The crab cakes were full of premium lump crab meat and the braised short ribs melted in your mouth. The Renaissance offered catering packages that made it more affordable for us. Our guests can't stop talking about the great location and food!

    I had my ceremony and reception at the Renaissance in Baltimore. Everything was wonderful and we had the most wonderful wedding. Edward Good was my wedding coordinator and he was excellent. He was responsive during the planning process and did a great job the day of. The only negative I could say is that the hotel seemed to misplace some of the items I purchased and used for the wedding (centerpieces and candles and such) however they reimbursed me very promptly. Overall I had an amazing wedding and would definitely recommend the venue.

    We are so glad we chose the Renaissance for our wedding ceremony and reception. It was really easy for our guests to have everything in one place. The staff was great. They are old pros at handling all of the mishaps and drama of a wedding in flawless fashion. We got a really great package so our guests thought we spent way more than we did. Folks are still talking about the food and venue almost one month after the event. Edward and Kathryn are great! They really exceeded our expectations.

    I loved this place! The reception room was gorgeous and everything was set up beautifully. The whole reception ran very smooth. We were able to have the cocktail hour outside on the terrace, which all our guests LOVED!! The food was AMAZING! It was expensive which would be my biggest complaint about the whole place. Also, the wedding planner from the Renaissance that was assigned to us was fabulous the day of. Everything ran smoothly because of him. He was though hard to get in touch with a couple months before the wedding but he was responsive at crunch time. Besides that I loved it and would recommend.

    Had a few bumps during the initial sales process, but everything turned out fantastic. Everyone was very responsive throughout and we had plenty of compliments on the food and service. There was some construction going on from the mall that caused a little issue for the entry way of the ballroom, but Joy had everything under control for us and made it so no one could tell. We had a fantastic bridal suite for all of the girls to get ready in and they even helped us coordinate a brunch for our family the next morning. If anything else went wrong that day, I have no idea because they took care of everything!

    Let me start by saying that our wedding was beautiful. However, that was due to the time and effort that my fiancé and I put in with little help from our event planner, Edward Good. I wanted to plan most of my wedding and was excited about the process. Although, having never planned a wedding before, I was looking to the event planner for some guidance on certain areas. While we did get information out of Edward, I felt like I was pulling teeth to get answers to my questions. Overall, he was fine, but left a lot to be desired. Every time we met with him, he had this arrogant attitude. At first, I thought it was a bad day, but it was every time we met with him. I never felt comfortable asking him questions because he was always so dismissive about my concerns. After our first meeting, I cried because Edward was so opinionated about everything. For example, I asked him for some suggestions on favors and he went on and on about how favors were stupid and a waste of money. Also, I asked about where the gifts would be placed at the reception, and he went into a long rant about how no one should be bringing actual gifts to the wedding. He said that everyone knows that gifts should be sent to the house prior to the wedding. Well, I felt stupid because I didn't know that, and I thought who is this guy to judge the guests at anyone's wedding.

    Throughout the wedding planning process, Edward always used the same excuses when he would take days to return my calls or emails. He always said he was so busy, and that the reason it takes so long for him to respond is because he is really focused on the wedding that is going on that week. I thought this was a little bit odd because I felt like part of his job was to make me feel like my wedding was as important as all of his 45 other weddings that he has every year. He just kept telling us that he would be really focused on our wedding the week prior to the date. Needless to say, that never happened. He was just as nonresponsive as always even up to the day before the wedding.

    On my wedding day, he acted the same arrogant way he always did. He acted somewhat irritated the whole day and night. I never saw the type of service from him that I think we deserved. Not that price should dictate the level of service, but I have to point out that we bought the platinum package for our wedding. If this is the kind of service Edward gives to platinum couples, I'd hate to see how he treats gold and silver couples. Our wedding at the Renaissance was wonderful, but could have been excellent had our experience with Edward been more enjoyable. I would be hesitant to recommend the Renaissance Harborplace to any other couple because of Edward Good. Our wedding was a success because of the time and effort we put in selecting our vendors and planning all the details with little help from Edward.

    Up until the wedding day itself, our wedding was going according to plan. We didn't not have any special demands except for room reservations for a family member. We had requested a room for my sister and her family for the evening of the wedding. They did a lot for us so we wanted to do something special for them. For the most part our wedding was fine. However, we requested a vegetarian meal for a guest and they were served buttered veggies. The appetizers were not butler presented per our contract. We did not receive a crab cake station in our holding room for the bridal party per our contract. All of these things seem minor to what happened regarding our room reseservations. When my sister went to check in, which took more time than it should have, the room had only one double bed. It was requested for two queen beds and we were assured by our coordinator Edward that we were not to worry. When my sister questioned him regarding the mix up he blamed me, the bride. She said why would my sister do that and his response was " to be malicious". There is absolutely no excuse for his behaviour. My husband and I have spent the last two weeks trying to resolve the issue with the Marriott corporation and it still is not resolved. If you plan on having a wedding at the Rensaissance do not have Edward Good as your coordinator. Request someone else.
