    Renaissance Waverly delivered

This hotel is amazing. The staff were friendly and professional and quick to respond when we had planning questions. The reception was set up and staffed so that everything was taken care of with efficiency and attention to detail. The venue is beautiful and the Kennesaw ballroom was the perfect size for our dinner reception. Plus, as part of the Marriott Bonvoy program, many of our guests enjoyed the perks of their status during their stay at the Renaissance Waverly. Truly top notch hotel and wedding venue!

Today I had the pleasure of signing a contract for our daughter's wedding with the Atlanta Renaissance Waverly Hotel.

Working with April Cochran at the Waverly was a pleasure. She was attentive and professional, not pushy at all. She listened intently, took copious notes and treated us as though we were part of the family. Satisfying us was April's primary concern, and she did that perfectly. It's unfortunate we have no other children getting married!

What the Waverly does, is to provide every customer with an all-inclusive price. Their "Diamond" wedding package includes everything... the cheese display, appetizers, choice of main course, 5 hour premium liquor service all the way through to the wedding cake and coffee service. Also included in the package are items such as a dance floor and staging area for the DJ which other venues do not typically include.

Another venue my daughter and her fiancé looked at (which I will not name), boasts beautiful garden areas in which to take pictures and is also associated with a hotel. However, they will nickel and dime you. At this venue there is an extra charge for the wedding cake, coffee and tea service, dance floor and bartenders. Chivari chairs were also an upgrade and a complimentary room for the bride and groom on the wedding night was "negotiable". These costs add up quickly, and I personally find them insulting.

Regardless of who is paying for the wedding, it’s wonderful that the Waverly has an all-inclusive price. You take the number of guests, multiply that by the price of the meal, add the service charge and tax and you have the cost of the wedding. If that doesn't meet the food and beverage minimum April will work with you to upgrade the liquor, wine or add additional courses to the menu.

It would be in your best interest to at least look at the Waverly. Go to their website at:

Our wedding at the Renaissance Waverly was lovely and perfect. Elizabeth, our hotel coordinator, did a fabulous job. She was available for all of my questions and found out answers if she did not know them. The food was very important to my husband, as he is a chef, and it was some of the best food we have ever had. It was great food not just great wedding food. The hotel was very accommodating to our every need and the honeymoon suite was gorgeous. Our ceremony was in the Galleria Gardens across from the hotel. I could not have asked for a more beautiful and perfect wedding.

Sarah Vincenti at the Renaissance was a wonderful addition to all of the people who helped make our wedding a wonderful day. She was so helpful in setting up a room block for our guests and was able to give them a discounted group rate. She coordinated the very nice SUV transportation for the wedding party to the wedding ceremony and the transportation for our departure from the reception at a very reasonable cost. The suite that she put us in as the 'bridal suite' was absolutely amazing! It was so huge and all 7 of my bridesmaids and my mom were all able to get ready in it comfortably. If all that was not enough, she surprised us with room service champagne while we were getting ready! She really went above and beyond and I can not recommend her and the gorgeous hotel more!

    Thanks Sarah!!

Beautiful and great service! Kelly was my planner and Debbie was my sales rep and they were both wonderful the whole time! Debbie really worked with me on my budget. They have multiple choices for ballrooms and a GREAT chef who can make anything you ask for! And it was so convenient for my guests to go crash in their hotel rooms after the reception! I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

We had our ceremony at our local church and the reception at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel. It was amazing! From the moment we got there the staff treated us as if we were the only guests in the hotel. Anything we needed they brought right away. They really took great care of us and I give them 5 out of 5 stars! It made our wedding an amazing experience!

The staff at the Renaissance Waverly was great! Our wedding turned out to be a huge success. My wedding was originally supposed to be outside in the garden but since we have the water drought, they were extremely understanding when we wanted to move the wedding indoors 2 days before the wedding. That may not sound like a big deal but the support of the staff from your wedding venue/coordinator is HUGE. Other than that, the coordination and cooperation were great and phone conversations were frequent. Great rooms, great location, great venue as a whole. Would definitely recommend the Renaissance Waverly!

The venue was very beautiful and everything was well put-together and organized. They did a great job. However, they didn't tell us about a lot of the costs and two days before the wedding they asked us for $20,000 MORE than what we expected to pay, and what we told them we were capable of. They felt bad and helped us a little bit, but not enough to make a difference. They did not handle it well. The event was incredible, but be very very careful and make sure you pay attention to all the details and know all the numbers and are on the same page constantly.

We were so excited with all the Waverly had to offer for their wedding packages. Unfortunately, everything that we were told we could do and have did not happen the day of. First, our coordinator that works for the hotel told us she was sick when we got to the hotel after the ceremony (later on asked if she could leave in the middle of the reception...very awkward situation and EXTREMELY unprofessional b/c she did not have a back-up). She and her staff did not do what was discussed and promised per countless emails, confirmations and per the contract. We even stopped by the hotel 3 days before the wedding and everything was confirmed. We went over so many diagrams of the room set-up and finalized everything...the room set-up was not what we signed off on and it was a total disaster. Certain staff members were extremely rude and in one case refused to help a 90 year old guest with a cup of coffee...we were promised that the pasta station would be able to fix vegetarian pasta and that did not happen. I felt like my family spent the whole night "fixing" things behind the scenes that the hotel was not doing right as per our contract and discussions with the coordinator. We had the ballroom until 10:30 pm and I spent months working on a candy buffet for the guests only for the staff to decide that they wanted to go home early and packed it all up by 9:30 pm...and having some of my guests ask me if we had a favor after the wedding was over was mortifying. Not to mention that we found out so many guests asked what had happened to it...and none of my family, relatives nor bridal party was able to enjoy it either. Things started to get packed up before the event was even over. The staff started taking down all my floral arrangement and rolling away tables and chairs around 10 pm...we had 30 minutes left. The ballroom looked absolutely AWFUL and it truly embarrassed my husband and me.

We feel very hurt and EXTREMELY disappointed with how our reception turned out. Thank goodness for the other vendors that saved the day b/c the issues with the Waverly certainly just about ruined everything. I cannot honestly recommend them to anyone b/c I wouldn't want anyone to go through what we did with the Waverly. I feel that if the hotel and our coordinator was not able to carry through with what we asked for, they should have been honest with us during the planning process instead of saying "yes" only to make us feel lied to in the end. The hotel manager worked some items out with my husband and offered a discount. But a discount doesn’t fix what happened the day of or make things okay for a special event like our wedding.

They destroyed our wedding & no one cared. The week before our wedding our head count dropped, while our contract was based on a financial amount and not the number of people attending, they went out of their way to make my life miserable. They tried very hard to pull contracted items, such as chair covers, ice sculpture, center pieces, etc. After making me absolutely sick the week before my wedding, they gave in & followed the contract. However, my nightmare continued. The day of the wedding all help disappeared. My husband and I never got to taste anything from the cocktail hour (usually a plate is brought to the bride & grooms room for them to enjoy at some point). At the end of the cocktail hour our contact person was still nowhere to be found. My DJ, husband & myself had to usher people in. We had a couples table & every time we stood up, our table was cleared. The only bite of cake we had was when it was cut. Our slices were taken from our table. We had a specialty coffee table. I fixed my coffee 3 times & it was taken away every time. Then they took away the coffee altogether, so I had none. There was no silverware on the desert table. I had to argue with a very rude waiter for him to be bothered with bringing any out. The coordinator never made an appearance the entire night. I wrote to the hotel after our wedding was told that his staff denied everything and he was going to do nothing about it. If you want to spend a lot of money, have an extremely large amount of stress added to your plate by your venue at the last minute and have your wedding completely ruined, by all means, have it here.
