Marisa and John were incredible from the very beginning. my husband and I are very shy and were so scared of having to get our pictures taken for our wedding. we have been together about 8 years and have about 5 photos to show for it — we hate the camera! but Marisa and John were SO accommodating and made us feel comfortable immediately. they were so personable and so patient and SO TALENTED. not only did they make us feel comfortable but we could not be more ecstatic about how the photos came out. they were exactly what we wanted (we asked for lots of candids and to remember everyone’s happiness throughout the night). they absolutely nailed it. genuinely could not recommend this couple more!! -

Marisa and John were fantastic. We had agreed at the start of the wedding planning that we didn't want to skimp on the photographer and we are so glad we didn't. They are expensive, but truly worth every penny. You are paying for 2 uber-talented primary shooters who are both highly personable and genuinely fun to work with. They are a fantastic duo and made us feel comfortable the whole night while also being in the background - we didn't even notice they were there most of the time! We could not recommend them enough and they were an absolute joy to work with - responsive, organized, and very detail oriented. We are recommending them to all our friends in the NYC/Philly area and we are overjoyed we booked with them. -

Marisa and John area dynamic wife and husband photographer team!! They were truly a dream to work with!! They are the most genuine photographers we have ever worked with and they captured the best day of our lives so beautifully, organically and most importantly elegantly. We loved every single shot M&J captured and will treasure these moments forever. On the day of our wedding, Marisa and John brought the best energy and it felt like they were a part of our wedding party. We would work with Redfield over and over and over again across a thousand lifetimes, and we're so sad that we could only do it once. Marisa and John are amazing to work with, and we can't overstate how special it is to be able to work alongside a married couple who communicate with each other so well, divide and conquer so efficiently, and create such a natural rapport with the couples they are photographing.
Marisa and John shot our engagement photos, our rehearsal dinner, and our wedding, and we couldn't be more pleased with the results. Sharing only non-face pictures here for privacy's sake, but we cannot recommend Redfield highly enough. -

Hiring Marisa and John (Redfield Photography) for our wedding photographers had to be one of the best decisions we made. They captured every authentic moment perfectly. When you scroll through the photos you can just feel how much love there is, from the first look down to every guest interaction…it’s just perfect. They didn’t miss anything or anyone. This allows us to continue sharing this special day with everyone who we made memories with. We’re going to do what most people don’t after a wedding and send a photo to every guest in their thank you card as well as give them access to a folder where they can see all the guest photos from the day. We’ve already started sending these out and the response from guests has been so heart warming. For example, I got a message from a guest after receiving the photo in their card, “We love this so much. It’s such a beautiful picture of our family it could’ve been our Christmas card photo.” It’s amazing that we’re able to do that without even having asked for it. We’re blown away by how well they captured all the detail photos (reception, decor, etc). I spent countless hours over the last year making this DIY wedding dream come true. It was such an amazing feeling seeing it captured. Not only did they create the most beautiful moments for us to reflect back on but they made our day special just by being a part of it. They are such special people, and we’re grateful we’ve been on this journey with them! I cannot recommend them enough. -

Choosing Redfield Photography is a decision we will be ecstatic about forever! Marisa and John were an absolute dream to work with. From the initial scoping calls, setting up the timeline and portrait list for the big day, and overall logistics to make sure no important details were miss - they were such a breeze to work with. On the actual wedding day their professionalism, enthusiasm, and overall joyful vibe was exactly what we needed! My husband and I had never taken professional photos before, they made us feel so at ease and comfortable in front of the camera. They made sure we had all the important pics we needed from pre-wedding through the ceremony, and found some amazing spots to take a few post ceremony unique pictures at. We wanted to focus mainly on party pictures and they completely understood the assignment - our guests are still raving about how fun and how present our photographers were! We recently received all our photos back from our wedding day and they are absolutely stunning, and truly captured the essence of our incredible day. The joy we feel getting to relive this day through these gorgeous photos is hard to put into words, the selection and editing are simply flawless. We cannot recommend John and Marisa enough - our wedding from start to finish wouldn't have been the same without them! From the beginning when we were scheduling our engagement shoot, they were excellent communicators and flexible when dates had to get switched due to a family related emergency.
They asked all the right questions as we were getting ready to prepare the wedding, and worked with us to answer those that we didn't have a huge preference for. They helped us create a comprehensive shot list for the day and delivered on every photo we were dreaming of! Not to mention that they truly have the best vibes around. They helped both my husband and I feel at ease in front of the camera and throughout the day. They knew our wedding timeline front and backwards, and truly went above and beyond to make sure the day ran smoothly.
The photos they delivered were gorgeous, and we truly could not be more thrilled - if capturing the day authentically matters to you there is no better choice than Redfield! -

Hiring John and Marisa from Redfield Photography for our wedding photography was undoubtedly one of the best decisions we made for our special day! These two are more than just an incredible photography team; they’re like wedding day superheroes.
Right from the start, they went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and relaxed as we were getting ready. It felt like having friends around who just happened to be amazing at taking photos. And when things got a bit off track (because let’s face it, it’s a wedding!), John and Marisa stepped in seamlessly, acting like impromptu wedding coordinators (especially in those moments, when it can be hard to get the attention of the actual wedding coordinators as they might be dealing with another issue in the background).
But here’s the best part - they didn’t just focus on us. They zipped around, snapping amazing photos of our guests. Everyone felt special, and we heard so many compliments about how great they were at making people feel special and at ease. It's hard to describe how much of a sixth sense Marisa and John have to be at the right place at the right time and popup to capture so many different moments throughout the day (of not only us - but all of our wedding guests). Our wedding photos came out beautifully, and they really captured all our special moments!
Also, we added the engagement photo shoot with them, which we recommend as it really helps you build a rapport with them and get comfortable in front of the camera (it also helps that John and Marisa are the best hype people). We initially decided to forego it, but decided to do it a week before our wedding (and the Redfield team was super accommodating to let us add it). The engagement photos are beautiful, and we felt so confident and ready to hit our best poses on our wedding day.
Seriously, if you’re tying the knot and need photographers, you’ve got to check out Redfield photography. Best decision we made during our wedding planning, hands down! -

We struggled to put into words how deeply Marisa + John have touched us.
They're not just talented craftspersons, but wonderful human beings. Looking through the photos, we realized these are two parts of the same whole.
The level of kindness, ease, and genuine joy that they brought to our day made us feel truly comfortable in our own skin, and that shows up in the photos. They were an integral part of the wedding itself. John was a crucial member of my groomsmen squad, and I can see from the daytime photos of my wife, Rach (and Rach told me directly) that Marisa brought the same soothing/elevating energy that let us be our fullest selves.

THEY MADE US LOOK SO GOOD!!
Rach is radiant inside and out, and their lenses managed to capture her full spectrum.
Looking through the shots, she just pops out of the frame, and I can feel the love in her eyes and hear the joy in her laugh. I say this not to brag about my wife - but because I know that’s no small feat. (I take terrible iPhone pictures of her all day long and she hates them!!)
In truth, neither of us are particularly kind to ourselves when we look in the mirror. Somehow, Redfield managed to make us look and feel like dang supermodels.
The real magic of their craft is how your photos feel.
I think the word is "transporting."
The light, the color, the energy, and the movement.
Each shot brings us back to the micro-emotions of every single moment of that day.
The best day of our lives.

Marisa + John have mastered the art of the creative, candid, thoughtful wedding photo!! Every image captures the spirit and tone of our day, from small details in our house to the rambunctious personalities of our puppy and kids (and our friends, let's be honest) to the happy tears during a toast. They felt like friends from our first meeting, made sure to answer all of our questions thoroughly at every step of the way, and were just as kind and helpful in person as they had been with each email communication. To say we had a wonderful experience with them is a huge understatement: they were an integral part of our wedding vendor family, and we would recommend them without a doubt for anyone who wants to capture the best of any event. Such fun! Such great photos!
Thank you Marisa and John! We had such a great time getting to know you that we knew our photos would turn out great for our awkward-ass selves. We scheduled an engagement shoot to ease into being photographed, and it was the hottest day of 2021 - we were all dressed up trying to look cute and sweating bullets. I had zero hope we’d get a shot out of that day, but it was worth it to get comfortable. THEN the photos came back and they were fantastic! My mind was blown. Fast forward a few months to our January wedding, where it was 12 degrees and windy. Frigid. And somehow once again this crew braved the elements and managed to make us look good braving the elements.
The number of people who have told us we looked like we were in a magazine shoot is absurd. (Let me tell you, readers, we are not the modeling types!) Thank you for capturing our day, and for being chill when my mom and her crazy friends insisted on “one last photo” for about 20 minutes at the end of the night. We had a blast and I look back on the photos all the time. -

Redfield will be one of the parts of your wedding experience!
When reflecting on our experience with Marisa and John, it’s hard to decide whether to start with highlighting their talent or to share what wonderful people they are. That being said, it all comes together through every interaction with them as well as within the photos they capture. We began working with Marisa and John right as COVID hit and they were so flexible, even comforting, during all of the challenges that came with postponing our wedding. The planning and communication with the two of them was seamless. My husband and I quickly felt like we were talking to friends we had known for years and they were so helpful in answering all of our questions while making us feel assured for our wedding day.
On the day of the wedding, Marisa and John kept us organized while making sure they had photos to include everyone who was special to us. They interacted with us in ways that allowed us to relax and enjoy the experience during couples photos and family formals. The result was the most genuine and beautiful pictures!
Marisa and John are two of the kindest and most hilarious people who are eager to hear what you’re looking for and will deliver it. We highly recommend Redfield Photography. We were 90% sold on Redfield when our planner told us they photographed her own wedding and then quickly 100% after 5 min on a call with them. Marisa and John are some of the nicest humans and here's a couple reasons why working with them is so awesome:
- Responsive and helpful - No matter what it was (changing our date, scheduling our engagement shoot, doing extra editing on a photo for the save the date and thank you), Marisa and John were quick to respond and always happy to accommodate and go the extra mile.
- Lovely to be around - Given how much time you spend with your photographer the day of the wedding, it was really important to us to feel comfortable. Marisa and John bring this wonderful calm energy which kept us (me) relaxed once everything started, and at the same time are quick to smile and crack jokes which keeps the whole process fun
- AMAZING photos - Saving the best for last, Marisa and John are true talents and the photos are absolutely beautiful. I almost started crying when I opened our wedding day teasers because they so perfectly captured the magic and joy of the day. While the posed photos are beautiful, the ones where Redfield really outdoes themselves are the candid shots that really express "us". We are so grateful to be able to re-live our wedding day through these beautiful images and can't wait to get back our full set!
I recommend Redfield to everyone (and even gifted a shoot with them to a friend of mine getting married because we loved our experience so much). We will absolutely work with them again any chance we get! -

Redfield Photography was awesome from start to finish. We first met John and Marisa when posing for our engagement photos. They made the experience so fun and natural we were laughing in no time.
Needless to say, these photos turned out fantastic. Which got us so pumped they were joining us on our wedding day.
When the day arrived, we nervously split into separate parties to get ready for the ceremony. John and Marisa both have an eye for phenomenal photography. With little to no posed shots, they took awesome photos of our party as we got ready for the big show.
When it came time for more formal pictures, they blended right in with our friends, joking with us and kindly guiding us into great poses and shots.
Throughout the entire night, they were everywhere all at once grabbing shots of everyone, but they never missed a beat when it came to knowing exactly where we were and what was happening next.
A few weeks later, they shot us a very exciting email letting us know our photos were ready! Opening the file, we were blown away immediately. We could not have been happier with our photos!!
Overall, Redfield Photography was by far one of the best decisions we made with our wedding. We could not recommend them more! -

Marisa & John are two truly amazing photographers with the kindest hearts and utmost talent! I hired Redfield Photography for my wedding date in September at The Foundry in LIC. They are both incredibly attentive and extremely experienced. My family and bridal party loved having them there with us on our big day as well because of their attentiveness (they were so helpful with all the last minute wedding details) and fun-loving energy. They made us feel comfortable and relaxed during the entirety of the wedding day/night and they went above and beyond to get every single shot that we wanted. Incredible Photographers and Even Better People
Marisa & John did a phenomenal job capturing every moment and detail of our wedding! My wife and I have gotten such amazing feedback from all of our friends and family about our pictures. I typically do not like seeing pictures of myself and do not feel like I am overly photogenic, but John and Marisa were able to deliver so many pictures that I absolutely love in our engagement shoot and wedding. Besides the amazing quality of their work, John and Marisa are a pleasure to deal with. They are incredibly kind-hearted, flexible, down to earth, and committed to the couples they photograph. With the pandemic, my wife and I had to reschedule our wedding and adhere to Covid restrictions on the rescheduled date of our event. I've admired Marisa and John's work for years because of how they capture joy in such a natural and vibrant way and I still can't believe I was lucky enough to have them photography my wedding in August. We rescheduled, significantly downsized, and moved our now intimate wedding outdoors due to COVID and they were with us at every step. They helped set up the phone we used to Zoom people in and thoughtfully brought it over to us after the ceremony during cocktail hour so we could say hi to everybody. They made us feel so at ease on our wedding day because they are so down to earth and go with the flow. Everybody at the wedding loved them and wished they were another couple of guests! And not to mention the photos!!! They are joy eternalized. I'm obviously biased but our family and friends agree that they are the best wedding photos they've seen. How do we even begin writing a review that will fully explain how amazing Redfield Photography is? We’re going to try, but just know that when you see John & Marisa working and when you get your wedding photos back you’ll know exactly why you hired them in the first place. From the beginning they were so helpful in scouting locations, making a photo schedule that would work for us, and working with our planner to make sure everything went smoothly. We can’t imagine how our wedding would have gone without them, literally! It rained the morning of, but they got their huge Subaru umbrella and took our outdoor portraits like absolute pros. Normally you might be upset that it’s raining on your wedding day during your photos and right before your ceremony, but John & Marisa made it so fun that we forgot it was even raining. And the photos came out so moody and beautiful. They perfectly captured our ceremony, party, and details. The whole day went by so fast, but we’re able to relive it whenever we want by looking at the story they told through their pictures. It’s been over 6 months since our wedding but our guests still rave about how wonderful John & Marisa were and how stunning the photos are. Our day would not have been the same without them and we’re truly grateful that we were lucky enough to book Redfield. -

Absolute the best! The Redfield crew was able to delicately and politely take control of of the business end of our wedding day. Completely ensuring that everyone was where they needed to be for the best pictures. They even had the foresight to track down and freshen up a hammered family member so they didn't ruin our photos. It became quite apparent to me that they were also prepared for wedding day emergencies with a snack and Advil on hand. After the ceremony, the crew let us do our thing for some awesome party pictures. Their knowledge of what shots would work well made the photo process easier than I thought. Their willingness to lead and take control during the dressing, first look, ceremony, and cocktail hour made it very smooth and quick which allowed us to get back to our party. When it came time to enjoy our dinner and reception, its almost as if they became invisible, working in the background still getting great shots the entire time. Everyone invited to our wedding was photographed. Somehow, they made my fat a** look good and my beautiful wife look even more stunning. We received our photos a few weeks after the event and I cant believe how good they look. The edits are absolutely perfect. I am so incredibly grateful for their perfect mix of professionalism and friendliness. I'm happy that they could be a part of our big day. WORTH EVERY CENT. -

These are not empty 5 stars across the board. I remember when vendor searching how frustrating what I saw as "wedding rose colored glasses" inflation made me. Just want you, dear reader, to know that Marisa and John of redfield are absolutely every 5 star rating you see.
The photos are exactly what we wanted in terms of lively, colorful, not the "ethereal romantic boho" look . that I wanted, while remaining classic, elegant, and utterly captured our day.
M+ J found the best spots for portraits just around our venue and even for our engagement session (down here in Georgetown, DC) which is not their home turf. They found lush greenery in the midst of the city to add variety to our photos. They managed our large families seamlessly.
One other point, they are exactly who you want by your side on your big day. You may not realize now (I certainly did not ) but you will spend more time with your photo team (in my case, Marisa and my husband's, John) and video team, than ANYONE else on your wedding day. So....they're pretty important. If anything gets you flustered, your photographers are actually key parts of helping you regroup. They are sort of your sounding boards that day. Well, they may not be, but Redfield certainly performed that duty in addition to their photographic job quite well :)
In my moments alone (very few), I could turn to Marisa for reassurance, or a laugh (great sense of humor). the photos are incredible and we are honestly just obsessed with them. They send us so many incredible shots with the most vibrant colors and captured the emotions and excitement of the day. We get compliments CONSTANTLY. hire redfield and you will be so happy. -

As a photographer myself, I thought choosing this vendor in particular was going to be the most difficult for me. But after having one call with Redfield, their humble and down to earth personalities made me feel like I was chatting with old friends. At our engagement session in Montreal, Marisa and John helped us feel totally at ease and the photos are so beautiful and timeless!

That was the exact vibe I was hoping for, and I was delighted to see the same was true of their full galleries! In both our engagement photos and wedding preview gallery we look excited, happy, and in love. Not too stuffy, not too artificial like we’re models in a styled shoot, but like real people who are really enjoying our days.
Actually working with them in the moment is even better. They have a great energy that made my husband and I, two people who are over-analytical and awkward in front of the camera, really relax and enjoy ourselves. They’re equal parts flexible and prepared — they came to our engagement shoot with a few backdrops in mind, but were happy to stop as we spotted spots along the way that we thought we might like to do as well. They’re also really funny and have done a lot of interesting things with their lives, so spending time with them independent of them taking your photograph is a joy.
Come wedding day, they really gave us 150 percent. They pre-arranged and got permits for us to do portraits in a Philly pier that no one else had taken photos in yet. My family wasn’t great about staying in one spot for long for portraits, but Marisa and John were patient and never showed any signs of frustration. John even helped my husband tie his bow tie! They’re also extremely thorough, taking dozens of photos and variations of photos to ensure they never miss a shot.
As we got closer to our wedding day, we opted to add an extra hour or two to our contract. Redfield wound up another hour or two on top of that, just out of the goodness of their hearts.
Booking Redfield was one of the best decisions we made in our wedding planning process, and I honestly think you get a great value with their rates considering how much extra time and dedication they pack into their services. -

Alli Sent on 08/22/2018We found them via a reddit referral, and were drawn in by their seemingly goofiness, in-the-moment, and editorial style photos with a nice color editing. When we reached out, both were really friendly, their package was appropriately priced for the area, and they offer a lot of add-ons if you are interested. They seemed to have a goofy, but professional mood, and weren't overly serious (we found this important, you're going to be with this professional for 8-10 hours). They were really helpful in planning our day, reaching out periodically, payment was easy, and were generally responsive within 1 day, especially closer to the date. It was superb to have 2 photographers, and Marissa really clicked with the girls, and John had a funny temperament with the guys. They sent a few teasers about a day after the wedding and they were great--we are anxiously waiting for our next batch. The photographers also knew our location, were really on point with the sun and shadows and planning, and were good with the venue. They were also great with posing, and not awkward at all. Looking at some family photos, you can also see them in the background, so we expect they got great candid photos of us. I'd do it all again with these guys, and wish we did engagement photos with them (I was out of the country for most of our engagement and timing just didn't work).

Alyssa Sent on 01/27/2018I honestly don't even know where to start. The very first vendor that I chose was the photographer - I am a photographer so I knew that this vendor that I had to get right. In a large city it is easy to get lost among the hundreds of wedding photographers, but I knew the aesthetic that I was looking for, so I had narrowed it down to a couple. Something REALLY important to me and my now husband was that we hired photographers that we were going to get along with - they were going to be right there with us for the most important day of our lives, and we wanted to make sure that they were people that we would want to celebrate with. Due to this need for our vendors to essentially be a part of the festivities, it was super important for me to meet with them personally. Enter John & Marisa. I already knew that I adored their work (I'm really not big on the light, soft, glowy vignettes) and how they captured such important moments with incredible detail. Mike and I met John & Marisa at Good Dog, one of our favorite bars, to talk about our wedding and to see if we would be a good fit. We ended up talking about the wedding for 30-40 minutes but stayed for a good 2 hours. We basically fell in love. IN LOVE. Mike and I left that first meeting saying to each other how much we adored them, that we were in such great hands, that our photos were going to be absolute STUNNERS. Needless to say, we immediately hired them. The wedding itself just solidified these feelings for us. Nothing ever goes 100% right on your day, but having vendors that work on their toes and find the best, creative ways to make it better is so important. They worked with us, had fun with us, and we didn't want them to leave! When we got our photos back, we sat on our couch, looked at them several times crying at how ABSOLUTELY gorgeous they were, but more importantly how PERFECTLY they captured the feeling of our wedding, and of Mike & I. I would recommend Redfield a MILLION times over.

Sara Sent on 06/29/2017Never will I have enough kind words to say about Marisa and John or enough words to thank them for the amazing gift they gave us by photographing our wedding. They got it all, every special moment was shot for us to remember and relive our wedding day. But it's not just that it's all there, it all feels like how it felt. Their images are full of emotion, are beautifully composed and are truly just so thoughtfully done from capture to selects to edit. The detail shots are insane and as a wedding planner, that is HUGE. We're so in love with every bit of our wedding photos and with Redfield! Working with them is also the most fun, you'll be cracking up and enjoying every minute. It doesn't feel awkward or uncomfortable, it's easy and you can feel good just being yourself. Never enough words for Redfield, if you're on the fence, I'm telling you.... do it. -

Renee Sent on 10/19/2013Working with Marisa & John was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! They are so great and fun to work with (and spend the day with, which is important!). They captured our day so beautifully, and the photo booth was a huge hit with our guests. The pics from the booth were hilarious, and the turn around was so quick - we had photo booth pics mere days after our wedding!
Also, its worth noting that we planned our wedding from CA, and Marisa was always great abut quick communication - my emails were always answered quickly - and we Skyped our first meeting!
I would recommend Redfield to anyone without hesitation.
