Best wedding makeup team

Our makeup team was experienced, friendly, and incredibly professional. We were beyond happy with how our makeup turned out — it looked fresh, natural, and beautiful, and it lasted all the way through the end of the night. We brought inspiration pictures and they were able to seamlessly bring our vision to life. Everyone felt confident and comfortable, and the team created a calm, positive environment while getting ready. We received so many compliments, and we couldn’t recommend them more.

Wedding at the Geraghty!

One of my favorite wedding vendors was Rare Bird Beauties!! From the beginning they were very responsive, helpful and upfront on all costs and what to expect. I LOVE how they have their own hair extension business too. It helped me so much that I was able to go and get color matched and they handled everything else!! My makeup trial day was SO fun! The salon is full of other beautiful brides and it was a great time.

On my actual wedding day I chose Francesca for hair. I wanted an updo and it was so beautiful and perfect!! She is such a kind person and I loved how honest she was if something didn’t look perfect to her she needed to fix it! I chose Konstantine for my makeup and he was amazing!! He made sure I knew how beautiful I was and made me feel so important in Chanel makeup haha. I laughed and had the best morning with them!! All my bridesmaids had terrific experiences as well!!

I so highly recommend Rare Bird Beauties to knock your glam out of the park! I was referred by a client of mine who is a blogger in the Chicagoland area and uses them frequently for photoshoots! The owner and I hit it off after the first call and I knew this would be my glam team! Samantha, Nicki and Nastassia exceeded all of our expectations with hair and makeup for over 8 ladies! They were prompt, courteous and highly skilled! They were great in listening to what we wanted and open to any feedback to make it 100% perfect! I can't wait to use them again for other important life milestones!

Jen and Iona blew me away and made my wedding hair and makeup dreams come to life. They were an absolute joy to work with. Both were so professional, kind, and incredibly talented. Jen created the perfect hairstyle that stayed flawless all day and night, even through dancing and happy tears. Iona made me feel so confident and radiant with the most beautiful, glowing makeup.

They offer both airbrush and traditional makeup options, which was perfect for my bridal party and family. Everyone felt comfortable and absolutely stunning. My mom and sisters still talk about how much they loved them. Jen and Iona truly go above and beyond to make you feel like the best version of yourself. If you have the chance to book them, do it. Wonderful on-site hair and makeup experience with custom extensions.

I loved working with Rare Bird Beauties for my bridal hair and makeup! Everyone was wonderful to work with, from coordinating with Jen and Ioana, to my hair with Jacqueline and my makeup with Dawn, to our additional artist Brittany. Dawn’s makeup lasted all day during our 90+ degree wedding day, and Jacqueline created the hairstyle of my literal dreams. My extensions matched my natural hair so well that everyone was shocked I was wearing them. I am so glad that I went with my gut and booked RBB!

Amazing Glam Team!!

My experience with Rare Bird Beauties was perfect—enjoyable, stress-free, and made me feel beautiful. I inquired with many hair and makeup companies in Chicago and the first interactions I had with Rare Bird Beauties really made them stand out. They are bride-focused and will help you achieve exactly what you want on your wedding day. RBB created a detailed timeline, which was amazing considering we had a large wedding party to work with.
The trial experience with them was great and I had full trust in their skills and experience for the day of. I also got custom extensions from Rare Bird Beauties and it was a great decision! You couldn’t tell I had them in—they matched perfectly and really helped the style hold throughout the day.

Shout out to Courtney for my makeup and Anastasia for my Hollywood waves! Konstantin and Laura were incredible as well, and I was really impressed by the whole team for being so organized and doing hair & makeup for 13 people.
My hair and makeup both lasted all day and well into the evening as we danced the night away! Thank you to the entire team for making us all feel so beautiful!

Amazing Hair and Makeup Artists!

Rare Bird Beauties was the perfect choice for my wedding hair and makeup! My wedding was in Northern Michigan and I live in Chicago, so I found Rare Bird as they are willing to travel for weddings. They were so professional and easy to communicate with for scheduling extension appointments and trials - I was so impressed with their work each time. I worked with Lisa as my makeup artist and Rebecca as my hair stylist, and they were both incredible. I showed Rebecca a style that I loved and she replicated it perfectly - it also lasted all day on my wedding day without budging! Lisa was amazing as well - not only did she do my makeup perfectly as the bride, but she also made my sister, mom and mother-in-law so happy with their looks. The makeup looked natural while being super long-lasting throughout the long day. I would highly recommend Rare Bird and specifically Lisa and Rebecca for any bride-to-be!

Great Experience!

Working with Rare Bird Beauties was a professional and seamless experience. Rebecca styled my hair; she perfectly cultivated my vision and it looked incredible. Highly Recommend

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Rare Bird Beauties. We were lucky enough to be connected with Ioana and Jen and I highly recommend them both. They really listened at my original trial and were very flexible throughout the process. I wanted a natural makeup look and I felt like Ioana made that happen. For hair I was indecisive and Jen showed me two looks (similar but different) and gave me to time I needed to make up my mind.
They really helped make me, my mom, and my sisters look and feel beautiful! All 5 of us had only great things to say about our own hair and makeup and each others. If you are in search of a great team, I highly recommend going with Rare Bird Beauties.

Great and professional team

We used RBB for our downtown chicago, two-bride wedding. We had a unique situation with two brides & no bridal party, so our HMUAs were for us & for our family (moms, sisters & grandmas). We had our lead hair & makeup, and two secondary hair & makeup, which allowed our schedule to start later in the morning. Everyone loved their hair and makeup - all of our artists hit it out of the park! We also had one sister who went pretty “out there” with a dark blue sparkly 80s inspired hair & makeup, and the secondary HMUAs took the unusual prompt and delivered with an incredible look. They also did amazingly with our grandmas, really listening to what our grandmas were requesting so that they felt super special & beautiful for the day.
Specifically, we had Jules for makeup and she was AMAZING - we couldn’t recommend her more highly. The makeup was beautiful in person and in photos, and at the end of the night I got so many compliments about how the makeup hadn’t budged at all - and it truly hadn’t! We did a makeup trial with Jules which was great to make sure we loved our makeup. Both of us had very simple hair, so we opted against a hair trial, but it turned out perfectly on the day of. During our research, RBB was pretty on par with other HMUA teams in terms of cost, and they absolutely delivered in value. We’d recommend them to any couple, and especially if both people in the couple are wanting HMUA services!

Highly recommend for HMUA!

I worked with Rare Bird Beauties for both my wedding and engagement photos, and I have already recommended them to many people! Natalie (one of the owners) was extremely responsive and professional throughout the process, and I always felt in-the-loop. I had a lot of control over the hair and makeup artists based on my preferences, while Natalie helped to guide me towards who might fit me best. She also provided a hair and makeup trial for all 8 people getting services to make the day run smoothly.

During the wedding trial and the day-of, both artists were on time and extremely professional. I was a bit nervous about running behind schedule with 8 people getting services, but we were actually way ahead of schedule! The artists were also great at creating completely different looks for each person and were very open to feedback/changes on the hair and makeup. And as a luxury service, I feel like the prices were extremely reasonable.

100% Reccomend using RBB!

After seeing the results of one friend using RBB for her wedding trial I immediately booked them and it was the best and easiest decision I made! At my trial they spent so much time checking in and asking preferences to ensure the look was what I wanted the day of, and seeing the results (with the veil on too!) made me so sure and excited for the day of.

Jen and Ioana did hair and make up for myself, 4 bridesmaids and both mothers. They were prompt with the early start time, incredibly fun to have with us while getting ready, and spent time working with each individual to ensure everyone had the hair and make up they wanted. The morning was dark and rainy, so Ioana even went out of her way to get extra lighting from their studio to ensure the team had everything they needed for beauty.

On top of looking and feeling beautiful all day, everyone’s hair and makeup stayed in perfect condition despite walking through rain and windy outdoor photos before the ceremony. Throughout the entire booking process Natalie was so kind and helpful. Feeling confident and my best was such an important part of my wedding day and RBB made it all possible. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone who asks.

Great Service

The Rare Bird Beauties team was fabulous from the beginning. They were able to accommodate on-site services for a small wedding party and they were able to accommodate a trial to work with my travel plans (since we live out of state). Natalie was amazing at taking care of everything and answering all of my many questions. Isabel did a fantastic job on the bridal party hair. She was able to help all of us find an amazing style for the day to help us all look amazing! Fiona is a wizard of make-up! We all wanted to take her home as she made all of us look fantastic. Our wedding day definitely wouldn't have been as beautiful without Isabel and Fiona.

The BEST for weddings!

Rare Bird was the best to work with for my wedding! I did my hair and makeup trials as well through them. Sara was in charge of makeup and she absolutely killed it. Viktoriia did my hair and did long beautiful waves which were just gorgeous. I wanted to look and feel like myself, but also wanted to feel more glam on the big day. My bridal party and many others kept complimenting me all night on how natural and stunning I looked. I have gotten my hair and makeup done for many events, and I have never felt as good as I did on my wedding day. It was so amazing not having to worry about it. My bridesmaids, grandma, and moms also got their hair and makeup done and they looked incredible. The team showed up exactly on time, were so professional, and so much fun to work with. I also want to give a huge shoutout to Natalie, their new communication queen. I've been working with Rare Bird for over a year, and I noticed a lovely improvement in communication once she was hired! Natalie is so fun to work with and significantly decreased my stress levels. I have NEVER looked more BEAUTIFUL before!

If you are looking for your wedding hair & makeup (or for any special event)- STOP LOOKING NOW AND BOOK RARE BIRD BEAUTIES. From solely a customer service standpoint, they were absolutely incredible to work with and responded to any questions or concerns prior to the event/trial. During my trail hair/makeup, I really felt that they listened to everything I said and genuinely wanted me to feel and look beautiful. I even decided after that I wanted to make some edits, and they offered to call me to chat through the edits and ensure I was comfortable with everything before the wedding day.

Aside from them just being a pleasure to work with- the results are STUNNING. I have been in many weddings and I always fear the first reveal of a smokey eye and a red lip at 8am, when I said "natural". Rare Birds made every single one girl in the bridal party look SO STUNNING- like natural and radiant, but as a Victoria Secret model. My maid of honor even asked Jenn while doing her hair is she could cut bangs so she could pull off a hairstyle she found, and without batting an eye she whipped out her scissor and created a masterpiece

I could go on and on about how amazing this team is, but that could go on for days. You will make the best decision of you wedding planning by booking this team!

The Best in the Business

I don't think I can possibly say enough amazing things about working with Rare Bird Beauties! Jen and Ioana are the absolute dream team to glam you up for your wedding day! From the trial to my big day they were so accommodating and really listened to my thoughts and helped me bring my vision to life. They even did a hair trial for my mother so she could venture out of her comfort-zone for the wedding! I am not very good at doing my hair or makeup normally and I am not very creative, so having Ioana and Jen guide me and offer helpful suggestions while also listening to what I didn't like made me feel so great about my decision to work with them. On the big day, not only were they on time, they kept us ahead of schedule and everyone looked INCREDIBLE! We had 11 people that needed to be styled by 12pm and they worked their magic without batting an eye! The other two women that came to assist (Christy (MU) and Rita (Hair)) were also fantastic. Rita worked wonders on my thick haired bridesmaids and Christy's eyeshadow game was on fire! If you are looking for the best, look no further!

Glam squad dream team!

The RBB team - Iona, Jen, Jade, and Francesca - were the glam squad for my June 2022 wedding, and WOW! The entire bridal party crew, including mothers of the bride & groom, not only looked beautiful, but felt their best. In my past experiences as a bridesmaid, inevitably, there is always someone who is unhappy with their hair or make-up. However, I can assure you this was NOT the case with RBB! The whole team was so professional, clearly talented, and made sure everyone felt beautiful & comfortable with their looks. They also were a ton of fun to work with, naturally fitting into the day as if they were part of the family/friend group!

While their prices might be a bit on the higher-end, I think you absolutely get what you pay for. RBB is extremely talented and can accommodate a wide spectrum of hair & make-up needs/preferences - whether you are looking for a natural look, something more high-glam, or anything in-between. They also take a disciplined & realistic approach to their planning & timelines, scheduling ample time & hands to ensure no one felt rushed.
Lastly, I also appreciated their "all-in" pricing approach, which is inclusive of faux lashes & airbrush foundation if you choose (versus other businesses that upcharge for those services).

Do yourself a favor and partner with RBB; you won't regret it!

Simply the Best Artists

I truly believe I could not have worked with two better human beings the morning of our wedding than Konstantine and Angelica from Rare Bird Beauties. (For reference getting ready included myself, two girlfriends, MOB & MOG)

Konstantine does such beautiful work that it blew me away and my girlfriends. I’ve seen them with professional makeup done before and it has never looked quite as good as it did on our wedding day. Personally, you guys know from our email exchanges, I’m not very well educated on makeup or wear it often and you guys paired me with the perfect person. Konstantine is so amazing at his job that it took no direction from me other than simply saying I wanted to look natural and he went ABOVE & BEYOND that! My makeup was flawless yet so light but photographed beautifully in just the previews we’ve gotten. I promise to send the professionals when we get the full album! I danced nonstop from 8pm to midnight and my makeup never budged! We took a picture when we got back to the hotel and it was as if I had just had my makeup done! I could speak praises to his artistic work all day but it’s not just that, he’s also one of the best humans! He’s so funny and kind, instantly makes everyone in his chair feel comfortable. I feel so lucky that he was there with me on our wedding day, he made that whole morning so fun!

Angelica is simply one of the sweetest people I have ever met! She came prepped with all these goodies specifically for me which was the loveliest surprise! The pearl pin she put in my hair for our wedding, I wore all throughout our honeymoon and each time it made me smile. She is an amazing artist who is delivery and so so proud of her craft that she takes time to make sure it’s the absolute best work. Everyone’s hair looked so beautiful and even my girlfriend with loose waves had her hair stay in place till the very end after all the dancing! You guys know the beautiful work Angelica does so I don’t have to go on about it but it’s her spirit and personality that truly touched me. She is really just the kindest soul and while I was emotional with all wedding day jitters, she made me feel at ease.

I am beyond grateful for the both Angelica & Konstantine and for RBB! We had the absolute best wedding day and I don’t think we could’ve done that without the wonderful humans we worked with!

I'm so happy with my choice to hire Rare Bird Beauties for my wedding date. I coordinated with Jen, who was wonderful, but my makeup artist was Stef and my hair artist was Shannon. I don't have enough great things to say about both of them! They listened to exactly what I had hoped to look like on my wedding day and always checked in to make sure I liked the way everything was going along the way. My trial went great and I only made a couple small adjustments for the day of and each one was executed perfectly. Perfect Experience!

Absolutely amazing! I absolutely loved my hair and makeup! It was so easy to work with Ioana from the beginning to the end (including a postponement). It was easy to communicate with Ioana anytime I needed to ask a question, she answered quickly! I did my makeup and hair trial for my engagement photos, and knew from the moment I began my trial that Rare Bird Beauties was the right decision! For the day of, they worked very well with our schedule. Our wedding ceremony was at 2PM and we needed our hair and makeup done by 12PM. We started at 8AM and had everyone done with hair and makeup before noon! I've been in other weddings where it is typical for hair and makeup to run late, and we never came close with Ioana and Amanda (and Brittany and Christy). We had 11 people total get hair AND makeup done and everything went so smoothly and I loved how every single person looked! My hair and makeup lasted all day from 8AM to 1AM the next morning, it still looked flawless!

Did beautiful natural make-up

After being blown off by our previous booked make-up person, my daughter frantically looked for someone else about a month before the wedding. Rare Birds was recommended to her. Well, let's just say we are happy the first make-up person blew her off, because Rare Birds turned out to be so much better. First, her trial was different than any others she had. They didn't do my daughter's whole face then show her when they were done. They continually showed her what they were doing as they were doing it. So if there was something she didn't like they could change it right then. When my daughter came by to show me it was the first time I was actually wowed by the make-up. It was so natural & beautiful. My daughter knew it was right, too. I had thought before that I personally was just not a full face make-up person, but no, if it's done correctly it's fantastic. She had airbrush done for all her trials, but one. I had thought our first hire was really good but nope. Rare Birds blew her out of the water. Communicating with Rare Birds was always easy for my daughter. Also, whats nice is that they will just do the bride's make-up. Many places want a minimum of 5 faces to do. Cynthia did my daughter's make-up the day of the wedding wonderfully. We highly recommend. The price I'm showing is for the trial & day of work. That may seem a bit expensive, but totally worth it. I wish we had found them first instead of spending money on the other trials. Hopefully we can help other save their money, by not bothering with trials with others. I'll include a pic when we get the professional photos.

Happy Bride

I can't say enough good things about Rare Bird Beauties! I booked them for hair for myself and my bridal party for my June 2021 wedding and they did not disappoint! Entire bridal party looked absolutely beautiful. Jen and Ioana made the planning process seamless, even through a covid postponement the ladies were super understanding and compassionate.

Co-owner, Jen, was my stylist and trusted advisor that made my day of wedding hair perfection! We discussed the vision at my trial and decided that extensions would be the best option. I purchased RBB's custom extensions and I can't tell you how happy I was with them!!! If you are on the fence about extensions- DO IT!!! Not one person could tell I had extensions in at any point of the day (even after a night full of dancing!) they were so seamless and blended into my hair perfectly. Best part is you get to keep them to use for yourself in the future.

Rebecca did the the remainder of the bridal party and was also amazing! All of my bridesmaids loved their hair!

Movie Star Quality!

Jen (hair) and Suzanne (makeup) made my mom and I feel/look like a million bucks on my wedding day! I am so so so thankful I was able to secure them for my micro wedding this year AND formal wedding next year. They are both extremely talented, patient, and kind. I liked my hair SO much that I ended up going to Jen for highlights and haircuts too. The RBB Studio is located at Western/Augusta and is an adorable space. I felt so beautiful!

RBB is amazing to work with! I've never been one for having my makeup done so was a bit nervous when looking for someone for my wedding day. I found them on a whim and couldn't have been more happy with Stephanie as my makeup artist! I wanted a few changes
from what we did with my trial and she nailed all my little tweaks. My makeup felt so perfect - and it STAYED all day/night. I was shocked, especially because we had a very rainy wedding day! She also glammed up bridesmaids and my Mom (who has never had her makeup done...ever!) and we all felt so beautiful! Awesome experience!!

I chose Rare Bird Beauties to do my hair for my wedding a few weeks ago, Jen did my hair and she was AWESOME! I had a total of three hair trials before I found RBB, didn't like any of them until I did a trial with Jen at RBB. I showed her a picture of what I was envisioning and she was able to do my hair exactly how I wanted! I ordered extensions from RBB and they color matched me perfectly. The day of the wedding Jen and Rebecca did my and my bridesmaids hair and everyone was so happy with how their hair turned out! I would recommend RBB to anyone looking for a hair/makeup artist!

This review is so long overdue! I was married on 10.19.19 and had the pleasure of working with Ioana, Jen, Val and Danielle for my wedding day and I couldn't have been more impressed. They were responsive and professional leading up to my wedding day and fit right in with my bridesmaids and family the day of. Ioana even sent me a ton of photos she took of us getting ready the day after our wedding, which was incredibly thoughtful and so great to wake up to. I've had my hair and makeup done for other weddings and have not always loved it. I've never felt more beautiful than my wedding day thanks to Ioana and Jen! Every single one of my bridesmaids and a few family members that had their hair and makeup done were just as impressed and I've had one friend already book them for her wedding next year. I will never look better than I did on my wedding day...and I am okay with that.

Listen up, folks- I have never felt more beautiful in my life than on my wedding day. Ever. Let's be real, we all know someone who looked a little extra after getting wedding hair and makeup done, but trust me when I say that you will look and feel ethereal if you hire Konstantine and Danielle from Rare Bird Beauties. The owners, Ioana and Jen, are incredibly committed and passionate about their jobs, which is demonstrated in how wonderful they were throughout what is a very stressful wedding planning process. Both Konstantine and Danielle were attentive to what I was envisioned and definitely delivered, but also provided this added level of expertise that resulted in a more perfect look than I could've imagined. We all looked amazing on my wedding day!

So happy I went with Rare Bird Beauties! They knew exactly what would look good for each person in my wedding party, including the mothers. I was so happy with how I looked, hair & makeup, and it looked amazing the entire day. Better than I could have imagined!

I cannot say enough good things about RBB. Jen and Ioana were the dream team! After setting my wedding date, they were the first vendor that I booked and I could not be more happy with that decision. From the beginning, everything was so easy with them- the communication, scheduling, payments, you name it. I have been in a couple weddings where not everyone in the bridal party likes their hair and makeup and ends up redoing it, but I can honestly say everyone loved their hair and makeup and we got compliments all day. We never even had to do touch ups the whole day!
I have rosacea and my redness usually starts peeking through quickly after applying makeup. Not the case for my wedding day! No rosacea in sight. Ioana did such an awesome job and I have never felt prettier! The day of, I told Jen about how my hair fell down after my trial. She made changes and my hair stayed put the entire day, even through the rain and dancing! Both Jen and Ioana are so fast at what they do, but that doesn't change the quality of what you're receiving. I would recommend them to everyone who needs hair or makeup! They are such a great team. Thanks for making me feel the prettiest I have ever felt on my big day!

Stress-Free Wedding Morning!

I had Valerie for makeup and Danielle for hair for my 8/10/19 wedding and I have so many wonderful things to say about these artists, as well as this company!

First of all, the professionalism is top notch. All of my logistics went through co-owner, Ioana. She is super responsive, accommodating, and organized. She even texted me the night before my wedding to wish me well! How sweet is that?!

My artists, Valerie and Danielle, helped to make the morning go by so smoothly. I got to just hang out with my bridesmaids and take some time to enjoy everyone's company. Both ladies worked quickly and efficiently and were just all around very sweet and great to be around.

I used to hate having my makeup done by other people, but I knew I wanted a professional for my wedding day. Now, I don't think I will ever be satisfied with how I do my own makeup! Valerie did a beautiful job on me and all the girls, and it lasted all day! Her color choices were so flattering!

To the contrary, I never do my hair, but it is extremely rare to find someone who can make mine stay in place. This was no issue with Danielle. Not only did she create something beautiful from my inspiration pictures, but it stayed in place all day! My mom and bridesmaids looked stunning as well!

The work of my artists truly tied together my wedding day look and really made me feel like a bride! Thank you!

Talented artists + organized management!

Rare Bird Beauty made a fantastic partner for all of our wedding beauty needs. Leading up to the event, Jen and Iona proved incredible organized, helpful, responsive and insightful. Their communication platform made planning more streamlined, which i greatly appreciated throughout the process. We were able to add a second artist just a few months before the wedding, giving us flexibility.

I never like getting my hair & make-up done, so Jen & Ioana had their work cut out for them, and they 110% delivered! Wonderful Stylized Makeup

Konstantine seemed to be able to read my mind on what makeup I wanted. We did a romantic winter wedding and he got my vibe right away and tailored my whole look with minimum guidance. The makeup was light and I still looked like myself, my two big requirements. We had a long reception and makeup lasted the entire 12 hours I needed it to! Danielle did my hair and did a wonderful job despite me not being able to fully describe what I wanted. It was stylish and never too much. (Big or hairspray) Both are fun, delightful people. My grandmothers did hair and makeup with us and both were delighted by them. I have already referred rare bird to a friend!

Beautiful Work, Easy to Work With

I would absolutely recommend Rare Bird Beauties after my experience with them. They were incredibly accommodating throughout the process, as I was not certain who I was including in hair/makeup or who wanted to be included (I did not have a bridal party). They were happy to make any changes that were made even if it was last minute, such as adding people on or adding more services to the trial, such as my mother also doing her hair and makeup. The quality of their work speaks for itself and I would highly recommend checking out their website to see some of their looks. I could not have imagined myself looking better, and somehow they managed to do that as my hair and makeup day off was somehow more beautiful than my trial. Both Ioana and Jen were so easy to work with and made me feel very relaxed at both the trial and day off. I know everyone else who had their hair and makeup done had amazing things to say about them as well. I pretty much got exactly what I asked for and more. Rare Bird Beauties is worth every penny and more for their services. I couldn't be happier with them.

Unbelievable. 10 stars! As a Chanel freelance makeup artist myself, I am extremely selective when hiring others to do my makeup (honestly, this was the first time I ever had anyone else do my makeup for an event). I spent hours searching for a makeup artist. Once I came across Ioana's work, I fell in love and wanted her to do my makeup. It was further solidified at my trial after meeting her. Ioana did my makeup, my 2 bridesmaids, my mom's and my mother-in-law's on my wedding day and everyone loved their makeup so much. My makeup lasted perfectly through tears and 12 hours of running around. Her products are top-notch and she is so sweet and kind. I can't thank her enough for being a part of my day. I only wish she was local for me as I would love to have her do my makeup for special events in the future as she is so calming, kind and such a talent. Seriously loved her so much <3 She also sent me videos and photos of me talking to my dad just before my first look which was priceless. Their company name is the cutest too. I had the pleasure of working with Ioana and Jen for my engagement session, wedding trial and wedding day beauty. They both are so talented and extremely warm individuals, which makes them very easy to be around! They made me feel comfortable and beautiful at all 3 appointments. Both Ioana and Jen went the extra mile for us. On wedding day, Ioana created a custom berry lip color for me (which i loved) and overall “Old Hollywood” glam. She also crafted our day-of schedule for our bridal party to accommodate everyone’s needs, even with last minute changes. My MIL still talks about her wedding day make-up because she loved it so much. Jen is also amazing. She meticulously worked on my curls until they were just so! Comb comb comb! She was able to stay to refresh my down ‘do prior to our ceremony. Fluffy snow did a number on my hair prior to it, and this was worth just a little bit extra to feel my absolute best before walking down the aisle! They were the first vendors I saw on wedding day, and it was truly a pleasure working with them from start to finish. Let me start by saying RBB is AMAZING! They were one of the last vendors I had to choose and choosing a wonderful hair and make up artist can be stressful. They put me at ease immediately! I set up a test with them and everything was flawless. My stylist, Milian, is amazing along with everyone on the team! The online personalized page was also extremely helpful and when you're planning a wedding, ease of use is key!

On the big day, we also had Chadwick and Aviana. All three stylists were so kind and fun and the getting ready process was a true party! With that said, everyone looked flawless while still looking natural! I was floored by how glowing & beautiful my bridesmaids looked. They also did makeup and hair for the moms, my officiant, and my grandmother and they were all telling me that they've never felt so beautiful!

My hair and makeup was absolutely perfect and I was thrilled. I still looked like myself and felt more beautiful than ever! The groom was also blown away :). They are definitely on top of the trends making everyone look like effortless boho beauties!

I worked with RBB a few times over the course of my wedding. I met Ioana and Jen at my trial run. They are both talented, professional women! Ioana did my make-up for my engagement shoot and wedding. I was beyond pleased with how well the make-up application lasted throughout each event, and how well it photographed. Our photographer highlighted Ioana’s stunning work, and I loved the results when we got our proofs. My mother in law doesn’t normally wear make-up, and Ioana knocked it out of the park on the big day! My mother in law commented on how awesome the experience was, and how comfortable she felt throughout the application. She still felt like herself with her new look - just more glamorous!
After the wedding, I had a post wedding bridal shoot with my photographer. Jen and Ioana traveled out to my place for hair and make-up. We looked at a few of my wedding photos, and they recreated a look that was similar to my wedding day. The result came out equally as beautiful! Rare Bird Beauties is an incredible team to work with! Pre-wedding, Jen & Ioana were extremely responsive via email and took the time to answer any questions we had. On the big day, we had the pleasure of working with Jen & Becca for hair and Ioana & Amelia for makeup. All four stylists were on-time, professional, and very talented! Everyone’s final hair and makeup looks were extremely well done and lasted all night. Overall RBB exceeded our expectations for a beauty vendor and honestly made getting ready really fun!

Rare Birds is magnificent. I worked with Jen from Rare Birds for several months to plan for a hair trial before my daughters wedding. Her overall dedication to matching my needs to the correct hair stylists and make-up professional was superb. They did a fabulous job for me, hair extensions, styling and outstanding make-up that exceeded expectations. Working with them long distance was delightful, very eager to please and always exceeding expectations. Very professional group, tremendous to mother of the bride, excellent for long distant coordination.

Rare bird beauties was the perfect make up hair decision for my wedding day . Ioana and hen were a dream and made my wedding morning so stress free! I was so happy with my final face and hair look , they made me feel like a princess which I how every bride wants to feel on her wedding day , right!! Konstantine is amazing! I don't normally wear a lot of makeup, so when I was looking for a makeup artist for my wedding day I knew I wanted to find someone who make me feel glamorous but still stay true to my natural look. Konstantine went above and beyond!! I am so grateful that I found him and the RBB team! I did a trial with Konstantine before my wedding day. He took the time to learn about the look I was hoping to achieve and then explained everything he was applying during the process. WOW! I was blown away. I went in to my wedding day knowing I was in good hands which definitely helped ease some of the wedding morning nerves. I received compliments all day about how gorgeous my makeup looked. Despite unexpected record heat, my makeup lasted through the night. Everyone in my bridal party also had rave reviews about their experiences. Thank you again to Konstantine and the RBB team!

When I was early in my research, I saw RBB tagged in a photo of a mutual friend on Instagram- I instantly fell in love with the pictures and reached out to the bride. After speaking with her about her wedding day, I instantly knew I wanted to have the RBB team beautify me for our wedding day. I worked with Jen and Ioana for my September 1st wedding and they were seriously incredible! Great price for great service, these two were so fun to work with! We had to make a few last minute changes to schedule and they were more than accommodating, even adding in an extra stylist only a few days before the wedding. We went with airbrush makeup and the fake eyelashes were a big hit. Everyone looked so beautiful!

Ioana of RBB provided makeup for me (MOB), my daughter & her bridesmaids. We were absolutely thrilled with the beautiful and natural results. My daughter & I had a trial a few months before the wedding and were certain that we wanted Ioana; we never looked further. I had the best experience with RBB. Ioana did the makeup for myself, my mom, and all of my bridesmaids on my wedding day. Everyone was so pleased with their makeup and looked absolutely stunning. I have never felt more beautiful and that is all due to Ioana. She made sure that I loved my look every step of the way and took the time to listen to exactly what I envisioned. When I saw the final result, I couldn't believe it. She did an amazing job which exceeded my expectations. I would recommend RBB and Ioana to all brides or anyone who is looking to get glammed up for a special occasion. RBB exceeded my expectations for my big day! Iona and Jen did my hair and make up for my engagement pictures and wedding day and I could not have been happier with the end result! They also did the MOB, MOG and all of my bridesmaids and everyone looked incredible and loved the glam!
RBB was very quick to respond throughout the process and was so easy to work with. They are very talented and made everybody feel very confident and gorgeous. Highly recommend!

I loved working with Rare Bird Beauties! A friend of mine used them for her wedding and had nothing but rave reviews. Ioana, the owner, was quick to respond to every email and made all the planning that goes into a wedding SO effortless. Amelia was our make up artist for the big day, and I can't say enough amazing things. She listened to what everyone in the wedding party wanted (including myself), and pulled their vision together perfectly. She was also super punctual, professional, and fun! I can't recommend them enough!

RBB is the real deal. These girls are beyond amazing at what they do!!! I could not recommend them enough. They are so easy to work with and were professional from start to finish. I had a large wedding party and the girls did such a good job in scheduling our timeline for the day, also adding additional artists for both hair and makeup. All the girls were beyond happy with both hair and makeup!
Ioana and Jen did both my hair and makeup for our engagement pictures, rehearsal dinner, and wedding day! They are both extremely talented and I couldn't be happier with their work.
I highly recommend hiring this company for your wedding. I will definitely continue using them for any events in the future!

Ioana and Lisa are amazing. They did my make up, my 12 bridesmaids, 2 moms and grandmothers makeup. They truly listened to what we each wanted and the results were incredible! Not only did the makeup look great in pictures but it lasted for the entire day and night. They worked quickly and efficiently and made sure there was time for touch-ups and never seemed stressed or rushed. Beyond the beautiful makeup what I was the most impressed with was what a pleasure Ioana was to work with. She is an incredibly sweet person with a very calming presence. On what can be a stressful day, it was wonderful to have someone who was so happy, relaxed, and attentive around. I would highly highly highly recommend Rarebird Beauties!!!!!!!

You envision your wedding look your entire engagement... at least. I'm one of those girls that thought about it since I started dating my (now) husband. I knew exactly what kind of styling I wanted, so I scouted on Instagram for months. When Rare Bird Beauties popped up, I knew I found my team!

Our trial went so well! It was like having your girlfriends do your make-up and hair. They asked about my husband, our life together, our story. There was a comfort during the trial I knew I would need on wedding day. They welcomed the minimal feedback I had, and I walked away knowing they understood my vision. Additionally, I trusted them to take care of my mom, mother-in-law, grandmother-in-law, and bridesmaids... all with clear visions of their own ;)

Leading up to our wedding, the bridesmaids and crew made their hair and makeup selections (up/down styling, lashes, airbrush, etc). RBB put together a very comprehensive day-of schedule. Every 'i' was dotted and 't' crossed so the big day would be seamless.

And seamless it was... they brought their own chairs, mirrors, extension cords, etc. They treated everyone with the same attentiveness they gave me. Everyone felt taken care of and felt beautiful!

I can't describe the feeling of having all the different pieces of your wedding look come together... your dress, shoes, jewelry, the make-up and hairstyle you've selected. That day was filled with very obvious special moments, but I hadn't thought about that moment when you see yourself in the mirror for the first time. Rare Bird Beauties made my vision come to life. There aren't enough thank you's for their hard work and talent!

I couldn't be happier with Ioana and Jen from rarebird beauties! I'm very particular with my makeup and Ioana did an amazing job for my wedding makeup. It was absolutely perfect. She made the few minor changes I requested after my trial and I loved my makeup for my wedding day! Jen did an amazing job with my hair as well, and it held it's curl all night! She made a few last minute changes to my hair and I loved the final result. Ioana and Jen were very responsive, so easy to work with, answered all my questions promptly, and arrived on time and ready to go on my wedding day. No complaints!

I could not be more in love with RBB! Picking my beauty vendors was the hardest thing to do. After searching pages and pages of photos and Instagram accounts, I came upon RBB and knew they had to be the ones! Jen and Ioana were the sweetest, most responsive and accommodating ladies leading up to the trial, and at the trial worked with me to get the look I loved. On the wedding day, they added to the fun of the day and brought out the best in everyone with both hair and makeup. I cannot recommend Rare Bird Beauties enough! First of all, they are seriously talented at what they do--Ioana did makeup and Jen did hair for me, my mother and mother-in-law, as well as my bridesmaids. As someone who does not wear a lot of makeup and whose definition of doing my hair is wearing it down, I went into my trial nervous about finding a way to look like myself but still a little elevated for the wedding day. I was blown away by their work! I had friends tell me that it was the best bridal hair/makeup they'd ever seen, and that was just the trial! Their work the day-of is truly unparalleled. My maid of honor is getting married next year and says that they have seriously raised the bar for her expectations for her own wedding (sadly across the country--otherwise she would be booking with RBB). On top of being amazing artists, they are fun, professional, and accommodating. Even though I lived out of state, they made scheduling my trial, making payments, and talking about details a breeze. RBB was truly one of my favorite wedding finds and I only wish that I had more opportunities to get dolled up by them!

Perfection

Let me tell you - I looked the most beautiful I ever have/will/want to be thanks to Angie and Konstantine! I'm so in love with the hair style and makeup looks they created. Angie actually made my evil hair cooperate and Konstantine's skills are so instinctive he makes it look easy. I absolutely loved my look and both of them. They were also SO relaxing to talk to the day of and just made the process fun! They plus Laura, our other hair wizard, were super on time (even early I think but I didn't have my watch on!) and even finished early. All the ladies raved about their hair and makeup. My bridesmaids who worked with Laura also LOVED their hair and raved about how great she was to talk to. Everything was just perfect. I told Angie and Konstantine that as soon as I win the lottery I'm hiring them to do my hair and makeup every day. My experience booking and with my trial were also so smooth and easy. Natalie knew who would be best for me right off the bat and was super easy to work with. I went with RBB because I wanted to look like the best version of myself on my wedding day without looking too done up and they achieved that and more. Love love love. Now go book them!!!!

Great hair and make-up experience!

I had Courtney for make-up and Angie for hair on my wedding day for me and my bridesmaids. These ladies were great at doing such a wide range of make-up and hair styles to fit each person's style. Courtney really listened to me at my trial as I don't wear heavy make-up often and I couldn't be happier with the outcome! She is so personable and we even talked after my trial to find me the perfect lip color before the big day. I made adjustments to my bridal hair since my trial on the day of and Angie was great in delivering what I wanted! Both my hair and make-up stayed truly all night! Same for my wedding party. They were so fun with my girls for getting ready too and made the morning a blast, we even were ahead of schedule!

I highly recommend RBB, especially the co-owner Iona. I reached out to her a couple months before my wedding, knowing that I was already late in the game. I had been putting off finding a MUA for a few reasons – 1) I don't wear much makeup day-to-day and I was nervous about not looking like myself and 2) I couldn't believe one day of makeup would really be worth hundreds of dollars.

Iona changed my mind about all of it! We worked together at my trial to find a look I was comfortable with. I gave her feedback in real time and after the trial about some things I would like to change, which she incorporated into my look for my wedding day. The day of, I felt like an enhanced version of myself and I didn't worry about my makeup all night long!

Talented artists brought my vision to life!

My Bridal Gown Boutique recommended Rare Bird Beauties to me for our wedding. Courtney was my makeup artist and Viktoriia was my hair stylist. They did both my bridal previews, wedding hair and makeup and bridal party + MOB/MOG hair and makeup. They are both so talented! Professional, on time and prepared. All of the bridesmaids commented on how well their hair and makeup wore throughout the night as well. I would recommend! The only one downside- not the artists fault- was that I had to postpone my wedding due to COVID and they were the only vendor, out of all of the vendors I booked for the wedding, that wouldn't allow me to get my deposit applied to the final balance because we changed the date- and they upped the prices from my original contract. All in all though- it was worth every penny.

It was enjoyable working with Shannon during the bridal hair trial and on my wedding day. During the wedding trial, she was truthful on what worked best for my hair type and my dress style. I came in with a few photos, and she immediately picked up on what I was looking for. While I did not do a makeup trial, she was kind enough to take the time to talk through a makeup look for the day of. I felt confident going into my wedding day knowing that Shannon was going to exceed my expectations.

Scheduling appointments and communicating with RBB was seamless. Everything was thoroughly explained leading up to the services, and especially the wedding day. Shannon was prompt in her arrival and had a clear schedule for the Bride and Mother of the Bride hair and makeup. She helped in making my wedding morning stress-free!

Rare Bird Beauties came highly recommended from two separate friends. I used Rare Bird Beauties for makeup for myself, my bridesmaids, and the moms. Both makeup-artists, Shannon and Lisa, did a phenomenal job. As someone who doesn't wear a lot of makeup daily, I really appreciated Lisa's ability to make me look glamorous, while still looking like "me."
As far as planning - Ioana is very responsive and great to work with!
And for any bride's trying to decide whether airbrush is worth it - do it! I wasn't sure because I have extremely sensitive skin. Not only did it feel like I had nearly no makeup on, but it lasted ALL day - and that was with some of the worst rain Chicago had all year.

Very poor experience

Unfortunately I had a far from good experience. I am blown away by the unprofessionalism from Jules.

The amount of times she scolded me as the bride almost brought me to tears and added a huge sense of anxiety to me on my wedding day. She was extremely abrasive to my event planner as well as my photographer. At one point she even screamed at my mom. She came unprepared, I quote “my makeup light is in my car but I didn’t want to carry it”

She refused to put a lipstick on me because I didn’t bring the exact one when she knew I didn’t like the lip from my trial. The makeup she provided was far from what I imagined for my wedding day and that breaks my heart. I missed out on precious moments that I won’t get back trying to fix my makeup as she ate up a huge chunk of my timeline.

One of my biggest complaints was, I was not able to ever talk to the make up artist you had to speak through the company, which I feel like lead to a lot more mistakes. Communication with poor, I would not recommend. I have shared my feedback with the company and they apologized, but the makeup is expensive and not worth what I paid.

I understand that can’t be fixed but I don’t want that for another bride so I hope you take my feedback into account when recommending her to future clients.
