Beautiful Outdoor Location and Great Staff

I can't speak highly enough of the gorgeous deck overlooking the beach!! All the beauty of a beach wedding without the sand to deal with!
From the sales team to the front desk personnel to the housekeeping personnel everyone did their best to meet our every need.
The food was so good that our guests are still talking about it even two months later.
If there was any less than stellar things it would be that the ceiling and lighting in the reception space were less than ideal. However, with some creative decorating by an outside vendor we were able to enhance the space.

Audri, Wanda, Jenna and their staff were amazing to deal with. Whenever I had a question ( and that was often) Audri emailed me back as soon as she had an answer. The other staff accommodated any changes we needed, even the last minute ones. Wanda and her team made the reception space glow and the food was phenomenal. Kill Devil Hills is a special place for us, and we will be staying here from now on :) Thank you all again for making our special day so lovely

Our reception was all and more we wished for. The people who set up the room were amazing, I brought my own very simple centerpieces they made them look way better then I could of on the table. The food was great, they were very accommodating to bump the food upsooner so the grandparents were feed sooner. Thank you for everything!

The Ramada provided us with the most spectacular view for our wedding. We could not have asked for a better backdrop. Wanda, with the staff, was there for us from 10am until the party ended and did not hesitate to get us whatever we needed, all with a genuine smile. Jena at the front desk helped me take care of a couple details for friends and worked hard to make sure we were all taken care of. Being able to bring your dogs, was definitely an added bonus that served many of guests well! The entire staff was kind, helpful and accommodating.

Nadiya was outstanding to work with! Communication was great and so easy to talk to. Our reception was supposed to be in the ballroom but had to be moved last minute because of damages from hurricane Matthew. She made the restaurant work with special touches I wanted!! Thank you Nadiya for making our day go smooth!

I 100% recommend Ramada Plaza in Nags Head, NC if you are planning a wedding in OBX! It has everything you need all in one beautiful place! I recently got married and took advantage of everything they had to offer. We had the ceremony on the hotel’s beach and the reception in their ball room. Everything turned out so beautiful and exactly how I imagined it to be! The entire staff at the Ramada was so helpful and kind! They have wedding/event coordinators on site who know the ins and outs of the hotel. Nadiya, my wedding coordinator, was so knowledgeable about the etiquette and “dos and don’ts” of wedding planning. She was also there for my mother and me through nearly the whole year of planning and was always available for any of our last minute questions. She took charge the day of the wedding and everything flowed seamlessly. The hotel was large enough to accommodate 80+ of our guests who each enjoyed their stay! We didn’t feel like we were on top of each other, running into each, and all had enough space. The restaurant, Peppercorns, is delicious! They catered our cocktail hour and reception and the food was a hit! I also loved getting ready in their bridal suite. It was very roomy and accommodating. Especially, since there were so many people coming in out that whole day we needed the extra space. I didn’t have to worry about running into my soon to be husband. Overall this hotel is amazing and was the perfect place to have our ceremony and reception! It is highly recommended!

Nadiya made our special day so relaxing! She was beyond great to work with. We emailed back and forth almost every week leading up to the wedding. She did everything I asked from her and so much more! She made sure that the day went nothing less than perfect! She was more than accommodating for both our guests and myself. If I had to re-do the whole event all over again, hands down I would do it at the Ramada and request Nadiya! My day was beyond perfect with no flaws!

Candice was an absolute pleasure to work with. She responded to our questions very promptly and was a great resource when we were booking our other vendors. We are from New York, so our wedding was a destination. We didn't have any problems planning from a distance because of her help. On our wedding day Candice couldn't be there, but she left us in good hands with Audri and Nadiya who were very professional and knowledgeable about our event. The entire staff at the Ramada was very accommodating and kind during our stay. I can't say enough about Candice and the rest of the staff; they were wonderful and made our special day go so smoothly.

Candace was so amazing to work with! We had our wedding on the beach and the reception in the restaurant downstairs, that offered beautiful ocean views, with access to an outside deck for our guests. We were married in October of 2013. The weather was very warm still! The space was perfect for our smaller and more intimate wedding. We have 45 guests. Candace kept me calm throughout the process and it was very obvious she was passionate about her work! The food was great and the price was reasonable! Our guests stayed at the hotel and I rented a beachhouse directly across the street for the wedding party. Our wedding day was all that I could have hoped for.

Candace was not only a pleasure to work with, but extremely responsive to any
questions that needed clarification as well as offering us the flexibility to
tailor the reception to our "wants". The Ramada Plaza was a beautiful venue for
our wedding and the view of the ocean from the ballroom was nothing less than
spectacular! The food, appetizers as well as the buffet choices, was delicious
and our guests have not yet stopped talking about just how tasty everything was!
Our guests that had rooms at the Ramada were pleased with the services
available-pool, restaurant, outside as well as inside bar service, a decking
system that allows for many conversational areas, swings..... Our wedding
ceremony was held on the beach and the decks allowed our guest who was
physically unable to walk on the sand to view the ceremony from a safe vantage
point.
The Ramada Plaza has a dressing room for the bridal party to get ready in,
offering plenty of space for primping as well as a refrigerator with ice cold
bottles of water!
All in all, our experience at the Ramada Plaza was absolutely wonderful and we
had so many compliments given by our guests as to the quality of the venue,
food, and service that we would recommend the Ramada Plaza highly.

Candice was a dream to work with. We booked the venue a year in advance (we live in Texas ). She has been very flexible as numerous changes were made. All In All considering it rained and had to be moved inside it was all perfect. Food was the talk of the family for days and everyone had a awesome time!

The Ramada Plaza Nags Head Beach Oceanfront was a beautiful venue for our wedding this past May! The beach was wide and the weather was spectacular! The food from the kitchen was delicious! We had our reception on the fourth floor which provided beautiful ocean views. I would highly recommend this venue for laid back, low key weddings.

A Ramada Inn is a pretty basic hotel - clean and comfortable. What sets the Ramada Inn Plaza Nags Head apart from the others is the staff. These people are the absolute best, in EVERY department. Candice was our "Wedding Manager". I never called that I didn't get a prompt response and every possible attempt to make every detail of my daughter's wedding exactly what she dreamed of. There were "good mornings" from every staff member I would pass. The front desk people are the best. The staff at Peppercorn's couldn't have been more accommodating. Another point of note here - a restaurant may have good food and "down grade" an event mass menu. Our menu, if possible, was even better than Peppercorn's already superior food. This was the very best choice for our children's wedding. I wouldn't change a thing.

The staff at the ramada are very courteous and professional. They're all very easy to work with and will pretty much accommodate any request. The venue was very affordable and I couldn't have asked for a better place to have my wedding. We got married right on the oceanfront then headed into the reception in the ballroom of the hotel which was extremely convenient.

The Ramada Plaza not only met but exceeded our expectations as the venue for our daughter's wedding. Candice was a delight to work with, was prompt in responding to our numerous questions and put our minds at ease with her knowledge and professional manner. On the day of the wedding, she was with us every step of the way ~ from beginning to end. Planning a beach wedding on the Outer Banks can be tricky but the Ramada Plaza's beach access made the DIY setup easy. The Currituck Ballroom overlooking the ocean was the perfect setting for our dinner reception. Staff was most accommodating. Our friends and families stayed at the hotel for the entire weekend. Rooms and all public areas have been tastefully redesigned and were not only attractive but comfortable. We highly recommend Candice and her staff at the Ramada Plaza to anyone considering having a beach wedding on the Outer Banks.

The staff worked efficiently and were friendly. Definitely recommend as a great place for beach wedding. We did our own set up on the beach and take down. They did the reception and hotel arrangements. Excellent food.

We had our wedding here and it was far more perfect than we ever imagined it could be. Candace was amazing in every aspect. She took care of everything, kept us straight, and went above and beyond even days after the wedding. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The decking on the back made for a beautiful setting for our beach wedding. The hotel had rooms ready for guests before they said they would. There was nothing at all that we didn't have or couldn't do. They made everything perfect and easy! We can't say enough about Candace and the Ramada. We would highly recommend them and no one should get married with out Candace. She works miracles!

We had our wedding here may 11, 2013 and everything was amazing!! The staff, food and the scenery was perfect. Especially Candice, she was very helpful through the whole wedding planning. She made sure the decorations, bar and hotel rooms were all taken care of with no problems. I highly recommend the Ramada Plaza for any one who plans of having a beach wedding!! We were so happy we found this location! The view of the ocean is priceless! The room is huge! We booked all of our guests at the hotel for an amazing deal, because we had our reception there! The price was excellent! The food was amazing!!! Best of all Candice their wedding coordinator was so helpful and made our day run so smoothly!!! The Ramada was the place and the people there made it all happen!

We got married at Nags Head on 7/3/16, every time we have came to the OBX in prep for our wedding we have stayed at the Ramada! We had looked at having our wedding ceremony/reception at the Ramada, but decided that we wanted more outdoor place and were concerned that with all the hotel guest some would interfere with the wedding line up. After all the arrangements were made, we decided that since Nadiya and the hotel staff were so incredible nice and good to work with, we wanted to host a block of rooms for our guest to stay. They were even able to accommodate us with a conference room where we could work on flowers and our wedding cake! Nadiya went above and beyond to help service us for our wedding with kindness! We will always be back to stay at the Ramada where they have nicely decorated and clean rooms! Thank you to all the staff and especially to Nadiya for all your help and kindness!

I loved every detail of working with Candace and Amanda to plan our wedding. I'm an offbeat bride and they never made me feel weird. We had a large wedding (about 200) and it was a little overwhelming for me, but Candace and Amanda handled it with ease. The food was good, the price was good, the service was great. We could have done our wedding a little cheaper somewhere else, but it would have been too much work. The included tables, chairs, linens, tableware, centerpieces, and planning that the Ramada gives you is well worth it! We had a photobooth, a DJ, a buffet, and an escort card table and Candace helped us to plan the lay out so it all worked great. The included room the girls used to get ready was very impressive and we kept it all night as a babysitting room for no extra charge! All the staff were friendly and good at their jobs, the rooms were very nice (especially the included room we got for our wedding night!) The location in undeniably the best on the beach. All of our guest were able to get cottages, entertainment, groceries, bikes, anything they needed nearby. It was too windy on our wedding day for our planned beach wedding so we ended up moving indoors, and the staff handled it - no problem! We made quick table rearrangements, and Amanda and Eileen helped us to make a plan for where everyone would stand and how we would change the ceremony, it worked perfectly! I'm so grateful to the Ramada staff for all they did and their positive attitudes, I highly recommend this location for your wedding because the service will put you at ease not only on your wedding day but on all the days leading up to it!

The Ramada is GREAT! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our wedding/reception thanks to the wonderful staff at the Ramada. I was able to reserve for our ceremony (right on the ocean). The place was beautiful! All staff members were polite, respectful, and sincere in helping to plan such an important event. I would definately recommend them to anyone planning an event (not only weddings) in the future. Hopefully, we will be able to celebrate our 1 year anniversary here.

It would be helpful when booking a wedding party and the guests to put everyone on the same floor. It was hectic on wedding day trying to get things to the right people from my parent's room-they were on 4th floor everyone else was on 2-3 floor. A block of rooms should be just that-a block where everyone is together unless they ask to be separated from the group. Other than that the service was great and the room was perfect for the reception.

My wife and I had an amazing wedding at the Ramada Nags Head. We picked the Ramada after going to the Outer Banks Wedding Expo and viewing each venue. We had a wedding party of about 150 people and the only venues that were large enough were the Ramada and Hilton. After meeting with the wedding coordinator Candice May at the Ramada and discovering how wonderful she was, we decided to go with the Ramada. The food was amazing and they did a great job customizing the reception food for my wife’s vegetarian palette. The staff setup the venue really early which gave us plenty of time to customize all of the decorations prior to the ceremony. We had sixteen people in our wedding party and she did a great job coordinating everyone and getting them down the aisle on time. The venue has great beachfront access where you can walk down the back steps right onto a wide open spot on the beach. The hotel did a great job of clearing the area out for our ceremony. The beach view from the bay windows at the reception halls was a great backdrop for all of our pictures. I highly recommend the Ramada for your wedding!

We got married at the Ramada Plaza a few weeks ago. The even coordinator, Candice, was absolutely amazing! She helped with everything and it relieved so much stress from the planning portion of the wedding. She was very quick to respond whether it was via e-mail or telephone. She was there every step of the way up until my feet hit the sand to walk down the aisle. She even stayed to make sure that we were happy with our dinner! I would highly recommend the Ramada Plaza as a great place to have your ceremony and reception all at the same place for a great price. We even had our cocktail reception out on the ocean view deck for an hour before going to the main ocean view ballroom on the 4th floor of the hotel for the reception which was great for my guests as most of them were from up north. My wedding was everything I could have asked for and more. They made it as stress free as possible. It was perfect!

My husband and I renewed our vows after 20 years, and I can't recommend the Ramada enough. Candice was extremely helpful in walking us through all we needed to do to make our day so special.

The ballroom view was beautiful, the food was delicious, and all of my guests had a great time. Great little touches like the sweetheart table, and the beautiful table decorations just added to the joy and celebration of our event.

I think that for a wedding all of the wedding party and the parents of the bride/groom should be located on the same floor or close together...we were spread all over the hotel which meant many trips up and down the elevator to deliver suits,flowers ect on the day of the wedding. The hotel did a great job with the food and the staff were easy to work with. We were satisfied with the service we received prior to and especially on wedding day.

Our wedding was wonderful! The food was delicious and the staff did a wonderful job coordinating with our florist, DJ, hairstylists, etc and the set-up was beautiful! There were only a few minor glitches throughout the course of our stay/wedding overall. First, we reserved a "block" of rooms, yet our rooms were scattered throughout the hotel. Even people who booked ocean-view or street-view were not blocked together. Also, we were promised the honeymoon suite and it was ultimately given to another couple. Our event co-ordinator was fabulous (Candace) and responded immediately to all of our e-mails. She made planning a destination wedding so much easier (we are from Upstate New York). We only thought it was odd that the person left in charge after she left the wedding was wearing a flannel shirt- which looked unprofessional-but he also provided good service. Also, when we were leaving the next day no one seemed to know where our anniversary cake was. When we finally located it, our family was late leaving to get back to NY and we sent back a box (without looking at it) that was labelled as our anniversary cake. Unknowingly, we sent home pieces of cake, not the anniversary cake. Thankfully we went back to check on the rest of our left overs and found our real anniversary cake in the fridge. We then had to buy another cooler and thankfully had a family member who stayed over in NC who could transport it home to NY for us. Overall we had a great experience with the Ramada Plaza, with some minor glitches along the way. Hopefully they will fix these and improve on their already great quality of service.

During the planning process I would have rated the Ramada at a 5.0. Even during the wedding weekend I would have given them glowing reviews, but what happened after the wedding is the sad part!

I made sure all of my communications with the event planner on site was in writing so there would be no confusion possible. When it came time to check out w were being billed for an extra day (which in email stated it was free) as well as a roll-away bed, which we never used. I went straight to the event planner and wanted this corrected. After getting quite frustrated she went and spoke to the manager for the hotel, came back and told me that the whole bill was handled and we owed nothing extra. PERFECT! At this point I would have still rated this hotel at a 5.0 for handling this issue in the correct manner.

During our honeymoon, I received an email from our linen rental company that they had NOT received their material back yet and if it wasn't returned soon that I'd have to pay a late fee. Well, the rental company was recommended to us by the hotel as they have a contract with them for special rates and the hotel will return the merchandise back to the rental company so that the couple doesn't have to. So, I forwarded the email from the linen company to the hotel's even planner and she assured me it had been shipped out.

Fast forward 2 months, I check over my credit card charges and there is a late fee charge from the linen company as well as a charge from the hotel for the whole stay and roll-away bed! I immediatly call up the event planner and demand a refund, which she is reluctant to give until I show proof in emails where I was told I wouldn't have to be for late fees or the extra nights. All of the money was eventually refunded to my credit card.

The point is that this hotel doesn't stick to it's word. It tries to go around the truth hoping you won't check your statements and they get their money. This hotel is extremly unprofessional and if I had to do it all over again I would have gone with a different hotel. Please save yourself the trouble and book somewhere else!

When I first booked the Ramada Plaza, I was disappointed by the lack of response and help that I got from the event coordination team. Three weeks before my wedding they finally helped me and got all the details worked out. At that point, the hotel was very responsive to all my phone calls and emails and my point of contact made and effort to communicate with me in some way everyday up until the day of the wedding. The wedding and reception ended up being perfect, however it would have been better if the hotel had been on the ball and started working comprehensively with me in the months prior to the wedding, rather than waiting until three weeks before to finally help.

Worst costumer service

Devin (head of food) is the worst human being I’ve ever came across in my life. She was nasty to my Dj tried to kick us out before dinner tried to charge me for alcohol not drank. Literally ruined my day 0/10 would recommend this place if she still works there. She said it was cause guests brought in our side alcohol. Her story changed multiple times. She was straight up telling lies. The alcohol she was upset about was still bought at the hotel. We tried to say we’d just ask those guests to leave she refused. Don’t get married here. She will ruin your wedding. Even the DJ thought it was ridiculous and said “I’ve never seen someone treat people this badly in my 30 years of doing weddings”. Celia the head of sales tried to reason with her too but she’s literally had in her mind before the wedding started. Also was super nasty yelling at grooms parents to get out when they were there for pictures. Oh and if you use a coozy apparently that means your smuggling in alcohol even when the bartender brings it to you. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE
