As a wedding vendor that has worked side by side with Rachel on a wedding day, I can say I was absolutely blown away by her attention to detail, timeliness, and her dedication to making her couple’s wedding day perfect. It is not often I have the pleasure of working with a wedding planner who makes the day flow seamlessly and makes my job easier but now I can say I have! Rachel took a very involved and expansive D.C. wedding and had it running like a well oiled machine! Rachel, you are truly gifted at what you do and your couples are so so lucky to have you! Every couple needs Rachel behind the scenes making their day magic! -

Rachel is truly amazing. I’m not sure what else to say. I am so grateful that we had her on our special day. She gives you 110% from the day you start working with her until your wedding day. It’s extremely impressive how much she can juggle and I don’t know how we would have done it without her. She is so knowledgeable and genuinely wants to make you happy. Not only was Rachel a huge help leading up to the day, but her and her team were so on top of everything the day of the wedding from the decor and making sure everything ran smoothly, to making sure that I was ok when I got a little shaken up. My family was even commenting on how great she was. I couldn’t imagine anyone regretting hiring her. Just do it! -

I was impressed from the start with Rachel's honesty because I initially planned to hire a full service wedding planner, but after meeting with Rachel for the first time, she told me honestly, based on having my vendors primarily booked already, I only needed her about two months out. It would have been very easy for her to take more money regardless, but that's just how she is! She was still there for me anytime I had questions, even through a venue cancellation. When she did take over two months before our wedding, I was immediately glad she was on our vendor team. She thinks of everything, so you don't have to and made our day run so smoothly. From logistics, to paperwork to responding to vendor emails, I was grateful for her expertise and help every single day! I couldn't recommend her enough! -

Hiring Rachel Kendall Events was the best decision we made during our wedding planning process. Rachel knows the wedding industry inside and out and has an incredibly extensive and talented vendor portfolio. Our June 2023 wedding was at our family's private residence, which I thought would make planning significantly more difficult, but Rachel knew exactly what to do every step of the way and was a dream to work with. There were so many moving pieces throughout our year of planning, yet she handled everything seamlessly and made sure we felt prioritized and at ease through it all. Rachel is incredibly professional, responsive, detail-oriented, and fun to work with. I can't thank the RKE team enough for not only making our wedding day absolutely perfect, but for providing such an amazing process leading up to it. There is a reason RKE has so many 5-star reviews–they truly are the best in the business! -

If given the chance to repeat our dream day, 10/10 I would hire Rachel again! From our initial conversation, where it felt like she truly understood and connected with our vision, to our wedding day where everything ran so perfectly, Rachel's entire process was meticulous and innovative. We hired Rachel for her wedding management package, which very nicely complimented all the designing and planning that we wanted to do ourselves. She provided us all the tools to organize our hard work into a format that could be easily transitioned when she stepped in 8 weeks out. She was always responsive and communicative when we needed her, and by the time we reached the hand off, we felt we had built a trust and rapport that allowed us to confidently hand over the reins - and she didn't let us down! Rachel also has some fantastic vendor connections, and she made some recommendations that ultimately proved to be the perfect additions to our vendor team! We were so thrilled with our choice to hire Rachel, and we would highly recommend Rachel Kendall Events to other couples! -

Rachel was wonderful to work with from start to finish and ensured that our wedding weekend ran smoothly and, more importantly, was an absolute blast. Rachel's experience and attention to detail was evident after our first call. She asked us questions about our event that would never have occurred to us, and this expertise gave us time to make decisions in advance so that we were always running ahead of schedule, both in planning the wedding and on the day-of. Rachel was always available and made sure she understood our input and implemented it. She confidently and conscientiously managed the event and allowed us and our families to enjoy ourselves and savor our special day. Hands down best decision we made for our wedding was booking Rachel as our planner. Her organization and attention to detail is unmatched and she is a dream to work with. She helped us so much throughout the planning process articulate our vision. If you want to wake up on your wedding day and know that everything is being taken care of- hire Rachel. Everybody kept saying how the days leading up to the wedding I was so low stress (as a highly anxious person) and so much had to do with my confidence in Rachel and her team. Besides her incredible talent, she is an absolute joy to work with. All the vendors said how much they loved working with her and how impressed with her attention to detail. One of our venue staff said she was the best planner to work with... just another tribute to how amazing she is! Last thing-- she has your back! With so many opinions around your wedding, she really stands in your corner. I absolutely loved working with Rachel. She is truly the best! :) -

Above and beyond!
Rachel is amazing at what she does. She started really working with us eight weeks out, and just wow - so many things happen in that last month or so, you don’t even realize how much help you truly need. Rachel does. not. miss. a. beat. Every contract, every dollar, every five minutes of the timeline all gets accounted for. Day of, I truly felt like I had NOTHING to worry about. She is truly talented and her team also exudes her positive energy and leadership style. We received SO many compliments on how seamless the day went. Many guests even asked for her information for their own family weddings coming up. The woman sells herself! She’s simply the best. -

The best partner we could have asked for!
Rachel and her team were absolutely incredible partners for our wedding reception! They were technically our month-of coordinators, but Rachel worked with us closely over much longer than that to help us stay on top of everything we needed to get done. She and her team stuck with us through multiple COVID reschedules, helped us navigate how to reschedule and keep our vendors and guests in the loop, and helped us find new vendors when not everyone could join us on the new date. Rachel is super organized, professional, kind, patient, and has tons of advice to share based on her experience. Through it all, she helped us stay calm and talked us through everything when we became overwhelmed with all the details. On the day, her team kept everyone on time and everything and everyone in the right place. Because of this team, we were able to enjoy our day without worrying about the details, since we trusted that everything was taken care of. We truly couldn’t have done it without the team, and we highly recommend them! -

If you’re looking for a sign that you’ve found the right wedding planner, this is it. To give you the full picture, my mom HATES public speaking with a passion and her first words during our welcome speech we’re a tribute to Rachel and her team being so amazing. If you want your entire wedding experience to be as stress free as possible (some anxiety is to be anticipated) with someone supporting you with helping hands and just being a major boss all around handling things you never even thought of, Rachel is your gal.
Nothing but rave reviews from not only myself and my husband, but the bridal party, parents on both sides, and literally all wedding guests who noticed how seamless her and her team made the entire wedding weekend to be an experience of a lifetime. Top notch for all categories. -

My guests were even raving about her at our recent wedding! She helped us think through so many details that would have gotten missed without her, and her vendor recommendations were spot-on as well. Best Planner!!!!
tldr We were full planning clients. Hire her!!! Getting married doesn’t have to be stressful if you find the right person. Rachel is the right person. ;)
When my now-husband and I got engaged in January 2021, we were completely overwhelmed in starting to think about HOW we were going to get married. The wedding was to be in DC while we were both living in Boston, and I was thesising and job hunting. Worse, neither of our families had any experience planning weddings at all. By March, we knew we needed help, and we scheduled interviews with 9 different wedding planners/coordinators.
Rachel was the first person we met with, and her professionalism, style, confidence, and leadership set a very high bar. We looked at each other after the meeting and literally said, “should we even go to our next one”. But we wanted to do our due diligence (and are completionists), so on we went. Our other interviews helped give insight into the various ways planners may approach things, and several things stood out: Rachel is able to quickly distill our jumbles of "ooh this looked cool" thoughts and our rambling answers into beautiful, realistic and actionable items. Rachel efficiently guides conversations while allowing us to be heard. And Rachel isn’t afraid to (politely) tell us if something isn’t likely to be worth it. So we booked her for full planning.
In the year leading up to our wedding, Rachel's candor and warmth turned any wedding-related anxiety into calm and progress. On calls with vendors, she was able to liaison on our behalf, acting as a translator as well as building a friendly bridge between strangers. And of course there’s the style guides and vendor/design options she pulled for us based on our early conversations. We didn’t have to interview 9 different professionals for each vendor category, since we could trust that Rachel would refer us to vendors who passed her high standards — we could simply look at her suggestions and pick 2 to interview. When we were indecisive, she would help us gather necessary information or reassure us that we were making a good choice.
At some point, I got super super busy and had little time to work on the wedding. Rachel and my husband worked together to make sure important things like invites got sent out. Of course there’s many details that only the couple can fill in, such as gather everyone’s addresses or write their vows. Rachel set clear priorities, wrote to-do lists, and regularly followed up, which gave us a lot of confidence that we wouldn’t miss anything.
Our wedding was better than we even imagined. Everything flowed flawlessly from our and our guests’ perspectives. When our afterparty venue discovered sometime the day-of there was something wrong with their liquor license, Rachel found us a new afterparty venue. The entire issue was resolved before she told us about it! When I kept stepping on my very poofy dress, Rachel had an army of safety pins ready to save the day. When it was time to say hi to groups of guests after dinner, Rachel was there to literally whisper in our ear “now’s a good time”. Not least, Rachel knows when the best solution to a problem is simply confident reassurance rather than another hammer. Our guests kept commenting on how amazing our planner was, and we had to disappoint some of them that she has not yet expanded to Boston (as far as we know). Having gone to a summer’s worth of weddings now, we can also see the great difference Rachel’s various suggestions made on the enjoyability of our wedding.
People like to say the only thing that’s important is that you walk away from your wedding married. And that’s true. But the year leading up to that can either be stressful or fun. I’ve heard friends say they hated planning their wedding, or that the wedding is for the guests, not for the couple, or that the couple doesn’t get to eat their own wedding food. Thanks to Rachel, our wedding planning process was full of good memories. Our wedding day featured the people we love in an atmosphere that calmed and wowed us, and while filling our stomachs with lots of very delicious food and drink.
Lastly, I mentioned earlier that I was thesising and job hunting during this time. I often think that if we didn’t have Rachel, one of the three – thesis, job search, or wedding – would have fallen through.
Your planner can be the most essential person on your vendor team. Their role seems the most difficult to grasp as a layperson— a photographer takes photos, a florist arranges flowers, a caterer makes food, but what exactly does a planner do? If you’re looking for a planner, you’re looking for a team leader and manager who can bring your nebulous wedding dreams to life in a cohesive, efficient and realistic fashion. And there’s no one I would trust more for this complex task than Rachel. -
