I cannot thank Rabbi Dennis Tobin enough for the exceptional service he provided for my wedding. From the very beginning, Rabbi Tobin demonstrated both professionalism and care, assuring us that our ceremony would be deeply meaningful and tailored to reflect our unique story.

What truly stood out was his dedication to getting to know us personally, allowing us to incorporate cherished family and cultural traditions into the ceremony. Rabbi Tobin’s punctuality and preparation were impeccable. He arrived early to help us take photos, sign the Ketubah and wedding license, and worked well with the other vendors. His calm and organized demeanor allowed us to enjoy every moment without worry.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Rabbi Tobin. His warmth, professionalism, and ability to create a meaningful and joyous ceremony were unparalleled. Rabbi Tobin is wonderful!

Rabbi Tobin was absolutely phenomenal. He made our wedding feel personal and warm. The ceremony was absolutely flawless and the attention to detail he puts into his work was noticed by all. Rabbi Tobin really, truly knows how to execute all aspects of a wedding! He not only went out of his way to answer our seemingly endless questions but he asked the right questions, made us feel at ease throughout the process, and ensured us that we would have no stress the day of the wedding, and he delivered. We cannot express enough for the outstanding job our rabbi did from the first inquiry to the day of, and everything in between. I think once of the greatest assets he provides is his ability and commitment to truly remembering the details, personalizing and emphasizing what is most important to us on the day of. I had informed Rabbi Tobin that my father had passed, and the care he put into honoring my father and bringing his presence to our wedding day was exceptional. He also made it a point to include our family members throughout our ceremony in a way that was so meaningful and something we will always remember. We will call Rabbi Tobin forever, for any major event, life circumstances, or even just to check in! He is now a part of our family.

Wedding Officiant

Both Rabbi Tobin and Father John made our interfaith ceremony one to remember forever. They were a great team and performed a beautiful ceremony. Rabbi Tobin did a great job coordinating everything for us.

Wonderful!

We had a last minute change and Rabbi Tobin came in and just nailed it! He was so helpful, enthusiastic, knowledgable and fun! He also saved us by thinking of literally EVERYTHING that we needed for our ceremony and even brought extra print-outs of speeches, candle holders and anything we needed. He worked very well with our Priest for our interfaith ceremony and made everything run smoothly for our special day. Thank you so much, Rabbi Tobin!

Added a little much needed amusement to our ceremony!

Rabbi Tobin was exactly what we needed for our wedding day. My husband is Jewish so we had to have a Rabbi and a Pastor since I am Methodist. I was so nervous about the whole ceremony coming together but it was absolutely perfect, our guests are still commenting about how nice it all was. The Pastor and Rabbi worked so well together it seemed like they have been friends for years. If you are looking for a Rabbi, Rabbi Tobin is the way to go.

you get more than your moneys worth!

what a hoot this guy is, but super professional. He stayed on top of us through the whole process, told us what we needed to accomplish and when right down to attaining the marriage license. He walked us through how to purchase a ketubah and what we should put on it. Day of he showed up early, set up the ceremony space, chased down the witnesses for marriage license signing, walked us through how to get our certified copies, ate some cocktail hour and left. The ceremony was hilarious and he made sure to print our self written vows in large print so we could read easily. Only downside was that he doesn’t conduct a rehearsal, preferring to guide you through the ceremony as its happening, but it worked out super well and I didn’t feel like a rehearsal was at all necessary. Friends were approaching me afterward for hid info for future celebrations! Highly recommend. 10/10 stars!

Rabbi Tobin is Terrific!

Rabbi Tobin was a huge help and relief during wedding planning. My husband and I met with Rabbi Tobin in person and a few times over the phone prior to our wedding day. He made us feel comfortable with his service, our venue and the plan on our actual wedding day. We never questioned his preparation, and he made it very clear that he's done this MANY times before. Most importantly he made a game day decision to sign our Ketubah during the ceremony, when pictures ran way longer than scheduled. His calm demeanor, made this the best part of the day. Everyone was fine with this decision and many of our guests commented on how sweet and personal it was to have us sign the ketubah as part of our ceremony. Rabbi Tobin is very conscious of the time, and this meant so much to us. The wedding ceremony is the most important part of the wedding day, and he made sure that this was the case. I highly recommend Rabbi Tobin as part of your wedding plans.

Incredibly captivating

Rabbi Tobin was our officiant on 11/30/18 and I could not have pictured my wedding ceremony any differently. Since first contacting Rabbi Tobin, he was EXTREMELY helpful and full of advise for our wedding day. I have to admit I was slightly hesitant with having my wedding officiated by a Rabbi, as my husband is catholic and we are not the most religious, but Rabbi Tobin made the ceremony absolutely perfect and suiting for the both of us. He speaks so eloquently and had our entire room captivated the entire time. Most ceremonies guests admit they don't remember much, however not ours. We have had nothing but nice words from all of our guests on a beautiful ceremony and not a dry eye in the room, including myself. Rabbi Tobin, thank you so much for making this day so perfect and I could not have asked for anyone better to officiate our wedding. I am so appreciative for all you have done for us and I am so happy to have had you as such a huge part of our day!!!!

Feeling Blessed

Rabbi Tobin came as a recommendation from a bridal Facebook page when I was trying to find a Rabbi willing to perform a ceremony in a church along with a priest. Originally I just wanted the glass breaking part but after talking to Rabbi Tobin he assured me that doing a full joint ceremony would be the right way to go and he was correct. I can’t thank him enough for coming into my wedding almost last minute and making it feel like he was part of it from the start.

Great Ceremony!

Rabbit Tobin did a wonderful job officiating our wedding. He put a lot of thought into the readings he selected, the orchestration of the ceremony, and the way in which he included our family in the service. The ceremony felt appropriately serious while still being fun and celebratory.

We found Rabbi Dennis Tobin through wedding wire and we were not disappointed! Hands down, his personality, humor, and confidence made our ceremony. From the moment we met him at a diner to phone calls days before the wedding he orchestrated an amazing ceremony. Our guests were engaged and laughing while still pulling in the religious aspects. I would 100% recommended him to any future bride.

Rabbi Tobin gave us the most beautiful wedding ever. We were absolutely thrilled with the ceremony. He was so friendly and easy going and made us feel so comfortable. When you meet Rabbi Tobin you will know when thing, he is prepared. What you will learn after talking to him is how much he truly cares about the individuality of your wedding. He will present with an idea for a format of a ceremony which he will add, subtract or create for you. He will give suggestions, listen to your needs and go above and beyond to make your vision a reality.
Whether it's the fast emails replies, facetimes or the hour long conversations we were blown away by how much Rabbi Tobin truly communicated with us throughout our engagement. He was someone who we considered “always there for us”.
We did not have a rehearsal the night before. 30 minutes before the actual wedding, however Rabbi Tobin was able to get a 25 person Wedding party in order for well rehearsed processional The Rabbi commands the respect of the room while keeping the balance of humor and love in everything he says.
When you book Rabbi Tobin you aren’t just booking a Rabbi. You are booking someone who is someone who is experienced in weddings who knows what can go right or wrong. Rabbi Tobin was so much more than someone who married us. We can count on him for advice from our marital vows to what we should pack for bathroom baskets.
PS. The Rabbi made sure we knew everything about how to get our marriage license. This guy knows everything about weddings, it's incredible! We loved him and you will too.

We can not express how great Rabbi Tobin was during our wedding preparation and the ceremony. Rabbi Tobin was extremely helpful in preparing us for the ceremony and ensuring that our Ketubah and marriage certificates were in order. The ceremony was perfect, and exactly how we wanted it. My husband and I were married on May 20th, 2017 and Rabbi Tobin officiated our wedding. We are an interfaith couple that wanted to have a Jewish wedding. He met with us, was patient with us and ultimately provided us with the most beautiful service I could have ever dreamed of! He truly let my Husband and I have the wedding we dreamed of and customize it as much as we wanted (which was A LOT). The most impressive part of the day was before our ceremony. He conducted a small ceremony a half hour before (our Ketubah signing) with just our family and bridal party. It was the most beautiful part of my day. It was unplanned, unexpected and unlike any Ketubah signing I have been a part of. Thank you Rabbi Tobin, for making our day SO special, unique and perfect! We will never forget it.

Rabbi Tobin did a phenomenal job at our wedding ceremony. Throughout the evening and even after our wedding, our guests complimented on the ceremony and asked about him. It was not a religious ceremony and he made it very personable, intimate, and funny.

Rabbi Tobin was everything I could have asked for regarding my wedding officiant. First off, he is very professional and responsive to emails and phone calls and gets back to you in a very prompt manner. He is very personable and easy to talk to. He was very helpful in deciding a ketubah and helping me figure out the logistics of a jewish wedding. On the day of the wedding, I planned to do my ceremony rehearsal but was running late and he did not rush me. He set up the whole ceremony site, regarding the ketubah, rings, candles, wine glass, etc. without having to involve me, knowing that I was busy with pictures. He took such a burden off me knowing that he was able to have everything prepared without even asking. I also commend him on his flexibility. At the ceremony, he was wonderful and did an AWESOME job. So many of my friends and family commented on what a great job Rabbi Tobin did for the ceremony and how he used humor to make the ceremony something special along with the other list of things he did to make the ceremony one of a kind. I personally have to say Rabbi Tobin did an EXCELLENT job and would HIGHLY recommend him to any couple looking for the BEST individualized wedding ceremony. Through working with Rabbi Tobin you can tell he is someone who truly cares for the couple and their life together and I do not believe I would have got that from anyone else. By choosing Rabbi Tobin you will be choosing wisely.

This was the best wedding ever,
Rabbi Tobin Met with us and discussed everything. From the time we met, until the time we were planning to walk down the Aisle. He got our story, the reasons why we wanted to get engaged and then the reason we wanted to get married, The best part of the process was when he asked us where we thought we would be in 2 years, 5 years and in10 years. We really had to think ahead.
He made our ceremony the most personal and that was very important to us. We wrote our vows and said them to each other and EVERYONE is still telling us that this was the beset ceremony they ever had.

He told us it would be " A VERY SPECIAL WEDDING" and it was.

He was the best to work with and I have given out his name to many friends already and he is officiating at 2 other weddings already.

I will always recommend this wonderful Officiant to all.

Rabbi Tobin was wonderful to work with. I found him through this website, and the reviews were spot on to the reactions we received and continue to receive about our wedding ceremony. Rabbi was very communicative, and easy to speak with. He gave wonderful suggestions, asked a lot of questions about us as a couple, and what we wanted for our ceremony. Both my husband and I felt very comfortable with using him as our officiant.

All of our guests have told us how wonderful they thought the ceremony was! They loved the Rabbi! During our first conversation Rabbi Tobin told me that he performs light hearted, beautiful ceremonies, and he was right!!!

Rabbi Tobin was recommended by our photographer to officiate our wedding at The Madison Hotel, and we are so happy that he did. From the moment we met him he really put us at ease. He had a wonderful sense of humor and we received many compliments on how touching, beautiful and fun our ceremony was. He was extremely accommodating. He met with us on several occasions and answered our numerous questions. We would highly recommend Rabbi Tobin for any wedding ceremony.

Rabbi Tobin co-officiated our interfaith (Jewish + Catholic) wedding at the Princeton University chapel in June, and it was a spectacular event! From the first time we reached out to him, it was clear that Rabbi Tobin was both experienced in interfaith weddings, and able to hold the attention of a crowd! He helped to connect us with our Deacon co-officiant, and they worked closely together to make sure that our ceremony was exactly what we wanted, with a strong mix of both Jewish and Catholic elements, and truly representative of our relationship and love story. Our family and friends all commented on how warm and fun the ceremony seemed -- not stuffy or overly formal -- as well as on how meaningful it was. Rabbi Tobin was very responsive and helpful throughout the wedding planning process as well, offering hints and help for finding out Ketubah, the marriage license process, and more. He was also extremely prepared, with all of the elements needed to pull off a flawless ceremony.

Rabbi Tobin married us twice in one year. The first time, my wife and I decided to quickly and officially marry, so that my mother could attend. You see we're an older couple, nearly 50 and my mother is an ailing 83 years old. Frankly we did not think she would make it til our official wedding date of October 11th, so we called Rabbi Tobin and he agreed to come to the venue, which was nice enough to open up for us on a Saturday in February 2014. With the warmest day in February and temps hitting the 60's, Rabbi Tobin performed a short, but lovely wedding ceremony for my wife and I, so that my mother would see us married before passing. It was in front of just a handful of our closest friends and family.

Fast forward 8 months and our official wedding date of October 11th 2014 arrives. My mother is still hanging on, so she gets to see us married a second time along with 100 or so guests, and there's Rabbi Tobin standing in front of us and our friends and family. Once again, he performs a lovely ceremony, mixing tradition, religion, a little vaudeville and an overall calm demeanor. 50 years old, getting married for the second time in a year and we were both still scared, so a calming voice and a steady hand carried us through.

The fact that Rabbi Tobin married us twice in a year, might be a first for him, who knows, but he treated each of these days like it was our most important day; period. Many guests commented to us later that they thought he was wonderful, striking just the right balance to appeal to everyone, and I could not agree more. A true professional, who I would not hesitate to recommend.

When my temple of 20 years was not able to accommodate me to officiate my daughter's bat mitzvah, I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to provide my daughter with a meaningful experience. 3 separate families recommended Rabbi Tobin.....There is no way to express my appreciation and gratitude to Rabbi Tobin for top-notch preparation and ceremony. He crafted the ceremony to reflect the individuality of both my daughter and my family, and continued to suggest ways to make it better and more personalized. Never once did we feel like an "assembly line bat mitzvah," which can happen when large congregations have so many to officiate. He guided us through a meaningful process, and never once did we feel overwhelmed. During the ceremony, Rabbi Tobin lightened the moment with a splash of humor, then captivated my family and friends with the meaning of becoming a bat mitzvah. Rabbi Tobin will be the first name that I will recommend and call upon for future events.

Rabbi Tobin officiated my brother's wedding in 2001, and we were excited to have him officiate ours over 10 years later. Rabbi Tobin adds a sense of humor to his service. He has a keen sense of reading the party and guests and personalizes the event accordingly. Rabbi Tobin was the officiant for our wedding and we couldn’t be happier with how the ceremony turned out. I’m catholic, my husband is Jewish, neither of us is very religious and we were struggling with how we should handle our wedding ceremony. Someone suggested Rabbi Tobin to us, at first we didn’t think we wanted a Rabbi for our ceremony, but I decided to give him a call anyway. After our first conversation I knew that he had to marry us! I was pretty stressed about some of the early wedding planning details and Rabbi Tobin put my mind to ease and made me laugh!
He took the time to actually get to know us and our relationship. He really gave me some of the best advice regarding dealing with our families and how to keep everyone happy. His best line for any tricky conversation was “The rabbi says...”, which quickly turned into our favorite saying. As much as I loved our ceremony I think the support he offered during our wedding planning was the best part.
However, our ceremony was amazing! He gave us exactly what we wanted and made it so memorable. He had beautiful words to say to us that he wasn’t just reading out of a book, and kept us and the whole audience laughing. He understood that my husband and I weren’t very religious and managed to make the perfect blend of traditions that made both of our families and us happy. We had so many people approach us after the wedding to tell us how much they loved the ceremony. It was definitely my favorite part of the day too! He was really the perfect choice for us and I would highly recommend him.

Rabbi Dennis Tobin was an absolute pleasure to have officiate our wedding. Our ceremony was personal and emotional, but very light-hearted and entertaining at the same time. All of our guests noticed this and continued to compliment us about this all evening. Rabbi Tobin said at cocktail hour everyone would be asking us where we were going on our honeymoon, how many kids we would have, etc. He was wrong. All everyone talked about was our ceremony! Rabbi Tobin made my husband and myself feel very much at peace even through all the hustle and bustle! We never got the chance to meet him in person since we lived 3 hours away but had the wedding in NJ but got to skype with him and have long phone conversations! Rabbi Tobin was excellent all around. He assured us the ceremony would run smoothly and everything went as planned on the night of the wedding. Our biggest concern was we wanted the ceremony to be no more than thirty minutes. He listened and things went perfectly. Rabbi has a great personality and even met/talked with us several times to ease any nerves we had before hand. We were so happy working with Rabbi Tobin! He was very responsive and put us at ease during the planning stages. He was also very flexible in his meeting times as we are from out of state and was also flexible in terms of the ceremony, accommodating for our divorced parents (and one set which really doesn't get along!) Although we were constantly being warned by other vendors that Rabbis in general were always late, Rabbi Tobin was early! He made sure everything was set up, came totally prepared and made the ceremony so sweet, touching, funny and personable. A perfect ceremony

Rabbi Dennis Tobin was amazing throughout our whole wedding planning process. He was easy to reach via phone or email. We only had one in-person meeting, which was convenient for me since I do not live in New Jersey. He took the time to get to know my husband and I to really personalize the ceremony. I am Jewish and my husband is Catholic. We had a Jewish wedding, but Rabbi Tobin really tried to respect both religions and was able to educate our guests during the ceremony about the Jewish traditions. He also gave great advice about the scheduling, time of events, and overall wedding advice. Our ceremony was BEAUTIFUL. He was engaging, funny, and sentimental. It was a perfect 30 minute ceremony. We had tons of compliments from our guests, with my friend even saying she wants to marry someone Jewish so she could have Rabbi Tobin as her officiant! The ceremony was a really special start to our perfect night.

We met with several Rabbis before meeting with Rabbi Tobin. From our first phone conversation, I knew he would be the perfect Rabbi to co-officiate at our wedding. He was professional, humorous and was all about making sure we had a fantastic ceremony.

There is nothing about our ceremony that I would change as it was absolutely perfect! Many of our guests told us it was one of the best ceremonies they had been to! They also couldn't believe that Rabbi Tobin and our Priest had never met before. They worked so well together.

For anyone considering hiring Rabbi Tobin, I would say 100% to hire him. He loves what he does and is truly great at it!

Rabbi Tobin really knows his stuff. You have nothing to worry about if you go with him - honestly, he will take over the show and run with it. Your only job as bride, groom, attendants, guests, is to sit back and take the ride with him.

PROS: Because Rabbi Tobin has been such a successful officiant, he has a whole package that he can offer you. He has different ceremony options depending on how religious/not religious you are. He is very comfortable conducting interfaith weddings and offers to co-officiate with another officiant, should you have one. If you want to take what he has and completely redesign it, you can (which we did). He is very flexible in that sense. He also has great ketubah discount codes that you can use at the major Ketubah vendors (we went with ketubah.com). I recommend calling him directly as he is very responsive via phone. He is a man that has a wealth of information about weddings and life, in general! Definitely listen to what he has to say - because honestly, the man is rarely wrong.

Our ceremony was wonderful - funny, entertaining, and just the right amount of time. When you get up to the alter, your mind goes blank. However, Rabbi Tobin is there to direct your every move.

CONS: The honorarium fee is a bit high. Luckily, my in-laws helped me out with it. However, you get what you pay for - and Rabbi Tobin was truly quality! For budget conscious brides, this is something to keep in mind. Additionally, be prepared to take the ride with him. I was a control freak bride, so it was hard for me to "let go" of the process at first, but honestly, Rabbi Tobin knew best!

Rabbi Tobin was recommended to us by a family friend. We also contacted many other Rabbis in the area but decided to work with Rabbi Tobin. First, he made us laugh. Second, the price he charged was very reasonable compared to some of the other Rabbis that we called.

We are very happy that Rabbi Tobin officiated our wedding. He met with us at least several times leading up to the wedding. He really made an effort to get to know us as a couple so that he could provide a meaningful speech during the ceremony. He also provided all of the necessary day of essentials such as keepahs, the glass to break, kiddush cup, etc. He also gave us helpful tips to remember for the day of the wedding.

Our guests enjoyed the ceremony very much. We received many compliments. He made our guests laugh, which was very important to us as we did not want a very long and dry ceremony that would bore people.

We highly recommend Rabbi Tobin for your Jewish ceremony!

My husband and I do not have a connection to a Rabbi let alone one on the opposite coast we live in. We found Rabbi Tobin online and he fit the non conventional mold we were looking for. Being culturally Jewish, we felt a connection to our religion in a different way. Rabbi Tobin did a great job keeping the service light hearted, much personality perfectly paced and how we wanted it. It was helpful that he truly allowed us to make the decisions verse our parents BUT had wonderful input in questions we had. We skype-d a few times, and although email response and getting questions answered were a bit slow, in the end Rabbi Tobin performed perfectly and did exactly what we needed. He was helpful, kind and gave a beautiful ceremony.

Rabbi Dennis Tobin was the perfect officiant for us based on our circumstances. I'm Jewish, my husband is Catholic. But, neither of us practice and we didn't want a service that preached or made anyone uncomfortable. Our venue, the Rockleigh, recommended Rabbi Tobin for this reason. He is an older, reform Rabbi with a fatherly demeanor and an operatic voice. He is also hilarious, and likes to swear a fair amount. If that's not your style, he is not the right officiant for you. Our ceremony was absolutely beautiful and really unique - Rabbi Tobin had a "choose your own adventure" approach to creating the ceremony. I will say that for an "interfaith" ceremony, it was heavy on Jewish tradition. But, my husband's family and friends were open-minded and really enjoyed it.

A tip if you book Rabbi Tobin - don't email him. He always answers by phone, but rarely by email. And don't worry if you have trouble getting in touch with him. He was very responsive the week before the wedding and everything came together perfectly.

Good ceremony I guess

He has an off color sense of humor, said it was all down from here after the ceremony was over. Also made more off color jokes about how my fly was down, when it wasn’t. I didn’t particularly enjoy the Tobin experience however when your parents want a Jewish wedding and your ceremony is before sundown on Saturday you don’t have many options. Oh well, I’d proceed with caution if you another option possible consider that. At the least he had people fooled and they thought it was a good ceremony but I wanted to send him home without allowing him to have any food during the cocktail hour because he was an ass and yelled at me to put my drink down and to fix the chuppa as my chuppa was coming apart however I’m suspicious he was messing with it. Also had us read standard vows when we worked out the details previously. That was awkward!!!

Lost our Ketubah and unresponsive after our wedding

While he was fine for our ceremony, Rabbi Dennis Tobin became completed unresponsive after marrying us. He had promised to mail us our purchased Ketubah after the ceremony, and it was never received. Reached out to him multiple times to follow up- things happen, if he lost it, we would have understood and simply asked for a replacement. However, he was completely unresponsive, dodged us. Very unprofessional coming from "a man of faith."

Rabbi Tobin performed my wedding ceremony several years year ago. When we met with Rabbi Tobin we expressed our wish to have an interfaith ceremony since I am Catholic and the bride was Jewish. At the initial meeting Rabbi Tobin assured us we would have a balanced interfaith ceremony with aspects of both religions represented. We both felt confident using him and happily looked forward to working with him. Unfortunately, minus the Yamakas our entire wedding ceremony was Jewish. During our service he spoke in Hebrew several times and he even pronounced our wedding as a Jewish wedding. Needless to say my family and I were in shock and it ruined the entire ceremony. Many of my family members were under the impression that I had converted to Judaism. I share this experience so that anyone working with Rabbi Tobin has a clear dialogue with him about the type of ceremony you wish to have. What he told us at our initial meeting was totally different from the service he performed at our wedding and I hope no one has to experience what we went through.
