    The perfect wedding day!

What a perfect day. We started planning our wedding in 2019, the coordinator at the time, was not very great (blunt but true), she left and Kyle came in and swept us off our feet. We were so fortunate to have Kyle helping us navigate COVID in 2020, and then reschedule in 2021. The day was beautiful, Kyle had everything on point, Kristin (the other wedding coordinator) was onsite at the event and handled everything we could have possibly needed. We are so thankful to have chosen QRGC for our venue and would recommend Kyle and his staff to anyone. We also did our rehearsal dinner there, everything was perfect, food was good and ran very smooth

We had such a wonderful wedding and we couldn't have done it without Stacie! The space was beautiful and perfect for the amount of guests we had. It was a beautiful night and had access to the patio/firepit. The food was incredible and was mentioned by multiple guests. Stacie even let us take some golf carts onto the course to take some pictures. She was so accommodating, punctual, and professional (all while having a brand new 4 week old baby)! We cannot say enough great things about this venue...highly recommend!!

Wonderful venue for a wedding reception. Stacie the manager is amazing to work with, she makes sure all the small details are taken care of and is very responsive to emails. We kept hearing how wonderful the food was all night, and best of all the venue is reasonably priced. Highly recommend this place!

After looking at several venues in the Grand Rapids area, we decided to book my daughter's wedding/reception with Quail Ridge - not only is the venue a beautiful place, but the staff at Quail Ridge are very friendly and professional. Steve and Julie were so helpful in the planning process. The food served at the reception was delicious. We got so many compliments from our guest afterwards on the dinner. Many of our guests told us that my daughter's wedding reception was the best reception they had ever been to. A big thanks to Steve and Julie for their expertise and for being such a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend Quail Ridge Golf Club.

Great venue, wonderful food and awesome service. We received many compliments from our guests at our daughter's wedding reception. Steve, Julie and their team were great and fun to work with. The wedding party really enjoyed taking golf carts out to take pictures on the golf course. We highly recommend Quail Ridge for your event.

    Wedding of our dreams!

Our wedding at quail ridge was absolutely the wedding of our dreams. We were married at the beautiful outdoor ceremony site and had our reception in the tent. The venue is so gorgeous and EVERYONE commented on how good the food was. Several people told us it was the best wedding food they ever had! Stacie could at times be a little tricky to get ahold of in the months leading up, but she was extremely accommodating and made every effort to give us the perfect wedding. The staff even changed the linens last minute for us after the color turned out to be a much brighter blue than what we wanted. The bridal suite was also fantastic and was in the perfect location to get ready out of site while we enjoyed a mimosas bar. If you're looking for an outdoor wedding with picturesque scenery and fantastic food, this is the one for you!

    Quail Ridge Golf Club's reply:

    Ellen,

Thank you so much for your kind words about your wedding at Quail Ridge GC. We are so happy to get to a play a part in your special day. We wish you the best in your marriage!

    Wedding venue

Just got married there last night! The venue was beautiful, although they may have been short staffed it wasn’t easily noticed. All staff were so friendly and accommodating the food was amazing! We worked with Stacie and she did everything she had promised. A few months before the wedding I got a little anxious about her responsiveness but she got back to me within a few days and literally did everything we had asked when it came time to wedding day! Everything worked out. Thank you for making this such a special day for me and my husband! The groom and groomsmen went golfing in the morning and the staff was amazing they had so much fun! The bridal suite was perfect and anything we asked for or needed was done. We did decide last minute to hire a coordinator with the help of her (Kate at Valley and Oak Events) and Stacie our day was perfect! I would recommend this venue to any brides looking for a venue! We got married in the tent and is was so beautiful. One of our kegs ran out and the staff quickly switched to cans of the same beer no one noticed. Everything was seamless. Everything that need to be changed or done got done! Thanks again Stacie and staff!

We had both our ceremony and reception here, and Steve was the coordinator with whom we interacted and worked the entire time, except for the day-of (he was scheduled to work at the other venue he manages that day). Overall, we had a wonderful experience -- the 4 stars for flexibility and quality of service reflect miscommunication about when our reception would end. We thought it was 11pm, and half-way through our reception, we were told it was 10:30pm. Not sure if this was because we (bride and groom) were scheduled to leave at 10:30pm or if it's because our "last call" for drinks was 10:30pm. Either way, we had to cut our dance music list short :(

Couple of things to note for potential bookers:
    - if you choose to do your ceremony here, there ceremony site has absolutely no cover from sun or rain unless you rent a tent. It's a beautiful location, though, and we gambled on not renting a tent. No rain, but FULL sun during our ceremony made it HOT!
    - if you choose the Clubhouse for your reception, keep in mine 3 of the 4 walls have windows, which makes for beautiful natural lighting (great for photos!), but sun sets in the corner with the most windows, so it got REALLY hot in there for us with 180 guests!
    - If you've pushing the 200 max capacity limit, you're going to get cozy (though not uncomfortable), and your dance floor is probably not going to be right in front of the head table. This worked out fine for us, but you'll have to play with your seating arrangement.
    - You get a really good deal on catering!
    - They will set up everything inside the Clubhouse for you, save for anything you want to hang on wall/ceiling.
    - They only set up chairs for you in ceremony site (rent through them to get good chair prices!)
    - There is no "dressing area" in this venue.

    Wedding 10/10/2020

We would give quail ridge a 3.5 out of 5 stars. We would recommend this venue for a wedding. We had to switch our venue 2 months before our wedding and Quail Ridge Golf Club were the only venue still available for 10/10/2020. The owners were very nice and helpful and gave us a beautiful spot to celebrate our wedding. They have an outside ceremony area and a beautiful tent that is connected to a building with a bridal suite.

The day before, quail ridge was short staffed and weren’t ready for us to decorate the day before. We had to rearrange the chairs for the ceremony area and had to clean up from the last wedding the day before. The owner was there the whole time running the bar area and trying to get the tent ready. It was a personal feeling having the owners be there for our big day!

The day of, they provided the bridal suite some snacks and a mimosa bar before the ceremony and they set up everything we talked about the day before. The owner came in and made sure everything was in order. Also, The groomsmen went to golf before the ceremony and they gave them a hard time. They wouldn’t let them golf at first. Then the workers told them they are moving too slow and they need to slip up or hurry up. They had to get a refund and wasn’t a very good experience. At the same time, the bridesmaids and bride were taking photos before the wedding and the golfers were yelling to get out of the road and were very rude. We went to different spot to see if we could get out of the way and had the same issue everywhere. They provide day of coordination. No need to pay someone to coordinate the wedding. The venue helped a lot with this. Finally, the reception came and the bar was closed when the bridal party come in. They were still understaffed and it took them over an hour to get everyone the food. The prime rib and chicken was very good! It was the timing that was off. There wasn’t enough salad dressing for everyone. The apps were very yummy. The late night snack came out too late and a lot of guest were gone. The fire stations kept going out and wasn’t a great idea if it was windy. Nothing the venue could have done about the wind.

All in all, we would recommend them for a wedding. It was beautiful, the food was great, and the owners tried there best to do everything they could to make our day great!

We had a great ceremony and reception at Quail Ridge. It was a great value for a beautiful location! They were able to work with us on serving dinner 30 minutes earlier than scheduled and were flexible and accommodating with decorations and desserts. The tent venue was beautiful for an outdoor summer/ early fall wedding with a natural feel. I would recommend their catering as well to reduce stress and have a great meal everyone will enjoy!

Quail Ridge Golf Club is a wonderful place to have a wedding reception. Their food is very good and they will set up for you if you have everything in order for them. Their setup is amazing and better than we could have done! We did have issues with Steve the coordinator contacting us in a timely manner and was always busy and couldn't remember details we had chosen. There were emails supposedly sent to us that we never recieved but we just kept bugging Steve until we got answers. We went with a buffet style reception and they only allow you to go up once even though you pay for all of the food. They took away plates when people went to the bathroom and we're not finished eating. We truly loved the facility and everything worked out. I would highly recommend this location even with the minor issues.

    Disappointing value for the cost

We had my daughter's wedding here recently. We were disappointed in the value received for the cost. We had just over 100 guests for just under $10k. The food was sparse and not very tasty (dry and bland.) There was a sense of them providing the absolute minimum they could get away with while charging for every possible thing they could. For example, there was a $500 fee just to make the reservation- not applied to the balance. We paid the full meal price for even the 1 year old. The children were served chicken tenders and tater tots (unexpectedly!) at full price. Our contact there did not return phone calls. The timeline was not communicated, so that I had to keep asking questions to verify that things would happen as I understood them. On the positive side, they had plenty of banquet staff during the reception, and they were wonderful to work with. The venue as a whole was acceptable, and the wedding was a great experience - but for the cost, we expected better quality in the meal.

Our experience was quite a mixed bag. We were initially concerned when dinner to sample foods for the wedding ran out of steak before all the guests made it through line the first time. Stacie said that had not happened before. So we gave it a pass. Our contract said we would have the place from 1:00 on. I went to meet Stacie on a Sat. to review the final details. Bridesmaids were decorating tables while golfers sat at the bar drinking, and the store was still open that goes into the venue. I talked with the bride in the bathroom. The bathrooms were filthy and had pee on the seats. It was 2:00. The bride was upset and didn't understand why people were there since she too, had rented the place from 1:00 on. When I asked Stacie about this, she said the people were probably from the wedding party. I told her they weren't as I had spoken to the bride. I asked what time their ceremony was at, and it was at 4:00. I felt upset for the bride, but also concerned this would be our fate as well. Sure enough it was. Wedding day came. We traveled 25 minutes to set up wedding stuff at 1:00 to find that the venue was entirely being used by another event with men at every table and food still being served. We could not set up AT ALL. We could only set up the outside ceremony site. Around 2 we left, still unable to set up, and drove 25 min. back home. What to do? So we had to hurry with dressing and getting ourselves ready so we could drive back again with enough time to set up the venue and then have the wedding at 5. Breach of contract is all I can say. The site is beautiful. The people did their job for the reception and it was a pleasant evening. Dreamscape Cupcakes, who has worked with this venue before said they had told Stacie our cake was there but did not set it up because the other event going on, but we didn't know where the cake was till 4:45 - just 15 minutes before the ceremony. Someone found the box in the corner. A very mixed, stressful experience

    Wedding Review

I rated this as 3's based on our experience as a whole- however, if Kelsey had been working with us the entire time, I feel a higher rating would have been warranted. We had a rough start due to the previous event coordinator that worked there. After Kelsey took over, things were a little rough at first, but smoothed out by the end. We had a FANTASTIC wedding at Quail Ridge. The course was beautiful to take photos on, the food was great, and the service during the wedding was good! I would recommend this location and Kelsey!

    Ruined the Wedding Day.

If you want your Bride crying before she even enters the venue, this is the place for you! We ordered the All-Inclusive package, which comes with two appetizers but they were not served. So instead of a cocktail hour we had a ton of starving guests. Kind of completely negated the cocktail hour. The salad was tiny and some guests didn't even get one, and it also was missing ingredients that were listed in their own menu. They served Champagne to my 16 year old sister in law. And didn't have enough bread for everyone either.
The tables were set up wrong even though my Mom asked to set one up the night before so they'd know how they should look, but Stacy said "She had it". If there is one thing you take away from my rant here, is that Stacy has nothing. Nothing left in her care will end up the way it is intended. On this note, they were still setting tables when we walked into the venue, they forgot to put the incredibly cheap silver chairs out until my Mom reminded Stacy the incompetent the night before. They didn't set out roses for the head table which were purchased by us and just sitting in Stacy's office. They were even labeled. They lost 9 center pieces which were also in her office on a shelf. The Bridal Suite was locked on our arrival and about 50 degrees.
Also good to note, she is terrible at communication. My now wife had to call and email constantly and then even recruit my Mom and Sister to get a hold of Stacy via phonecall or email. Horrible.
The pasta bar did taste good, but once again was missing options listed in the menu. Mainly being two types of noodles and three sauce options. We were offered one noodle type and two sauce options. It was also not set up in the right place.
My mother in law ended up embarrassed at the display in front of Brazilian family who flew in for the wedding. They take parties very seriously and as a point of pride for the host and this was a disaster. My Dad had to convince her to come back inside the venue to try and enjoy the night, and he also had to tell Stacy who has no customer service skills to go away for she was not making anything better.
She also got the Napkin color wrong, getting pink napkins. The color of the wedding was dark red and silver. She kept saying they were "Rose napkins, that's what you wanted" Uhhh wrong. I was there when we picked them and they were not a pink napkins, I would have given my Wife shit for it.
Fast forward past the debacle of the Reception, we went in on Saturday to pick up the rest of the decorations and such. My parents had gotten most of it earlier in the day and this was when Stacy told my Dad that "She doesn't make mistakes." A statement she later denied. We went on a hunt for our missing centerpieces. Stacy checked the kitchen, not there. Stacy checked her office, not there. "Did you actually bring them? Are you sure we had them?" using her constant defense of deflection. "You're welcome to check my office, but they aren't there." smug as can be. I walk in to her office, and there's a box on the shelf directly inside. I touch the box and feel a vase. I pull the vase out to see it, and sure enough it's our missing centerpieces! As i carry the box back to her she says "Well that's why they weren't put out." NO SHIT. You screw up anything you touch and if you still have a job as of this writing I would be shocked. This is clearly not the line of work you need to be in.
Too long didn't Read: Pretty Venue, but will screw up anything and everything.
