She's the best!

Katie is an amazing event planner, but also a very caring, patient and genuine person -- someone you feel like you've been friends with all along. She is incredibly organized with excellent communication skills and exceeded all of our expectations. Katie kept us sane and made us laugh throughout the crazy process of wedding planning. We were totally relaxed and able to fully enjoy the big day knowing she was on top of every detail, working closely with all vendors. We absolutely loved working with her, we wouldn't have had the perfect day without her!

Katie far exceeded any expectations my wife and I could have imagined for a wedding planner. From the first meeting with her, it was clear that Katie was organized, experienced, and passionate about making sure our wedding went exactly how we envisioned it.

Over the course of our roughly 18-month engagement, Katie could not have been more attentive to our needs. She laid out the schedule (managed through basecamp) for both our tasks and hers, and was always quick to respond to our questions. I would say one of her biggest strengths was in helping us fill in the gaps in our vision for the big day and knowing which questions to ask vendors and ourselves when it came to design preferences. She even made sure to reach out when it looked like we were starting to fall behind on our tasks, which we certainly needed. She always had stellar recommendations for vendors but never pressured us to actually take her recommendation. We learned quickly that when Katie recommends someone, they're probably the right fit for the job :)

While I can't sing Katie's praises enough for her guidance in planning the wedding, she was unbelievable on the day-of. When we needed to resort to the rain plan- every bride's worst fear- Katie coordinated all the necessary changes with our vendors and made sure that set-up flowed smoothly. We have since had a few guests that thought the rain plan was our original plan all along!

Of all the choices that went into planning our wedding, hiring Katie was the best decision we made, period. You will not regret it!

We are so thankful that we chose to hire Katie to help plan and coordinate our big day! She was already very familiar with our venue (which was a huge plus) and was beyond organized, which was something that was important to us when we were looking for a wedding planner. She was very responsive to all of our calls and emails and knew all of the answers to any questions that we had. She put together the most incredible timeline for the weekend to help keep everyone on schedule, which was a must as this was a destination wedding for most of our guests. She recommended several amazing vendors and had lots of suggestions on how to add in little touches to make our wedding special (her idea to have a food truck for late night bites was her best idea for sure!) A few weeks before our wedding, she took over handling our entire vendor team so that we could relax and be as stress free as possible. She managed everything the day of, and if anything went wrong, we still don't know about it! Katie is amazing and we would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great planner! There literally is not enough enough space here to say everything I want to about Katie Joga of Pure Whimsy, so I’m writing in bullets.
*Her advice and timeline made the planning so doable and easy, and kept my mom from worrying, too!
*She was always available to answer any questions with expert advice, and we never felt like we were bothering her or that she couldn’t handle anything we threw at her
*Her use of basecamp software kept all documents, timelines, and conversations organized and easy
*She worked well with my mother, but also always put my preferences first
*She has exceptional knowledge of vendors (our vendor team was an all-star lineup of outstanding professionals!), budgets, timelines, etiquette, day of organization, and helped us make choices that we were super grateful to have made later!
*She is so organized, kind, and fun to work with- even all of my vendors loved working with her!
*Her visual sense of style and judgement was spot on
*she understood and accommodated my chronic illness perfectly
*She was also so spot on for day of coordination- it was so smooth and stress free. She kept us in the moment on our wedding day and we remembered and enjoyed our day, unlike most of our married friends

My mom and I were blessed to stumble upon Katie in our search for a Wedding Planner. She provided us with her superpowers for full planning, design, and decor- and as a result, we had the Dream Wedding we'd always wanted!!

She streamlined the whole process of wedding planning and took care of all the details that make the whole ordeal overwhelming at times. She reviewed contracts, found incredible vendors, set up appointments, managed our budget, became our eyes & ears double checking details and sites when we moved away, and so much more! All while still focusing on what I envisioned for our wedding day. I truly trusted and connected with her because -from the smallest details to the biggest- she made sure everything stayed true to my vision. And I wasn't one of those brides that had every detail already planned out- in fact, I needed A LOT of help filling in the gaps. But once we had a general outline, Katie provided so many options that were amazing that I no longer felt worried about not knowing what to do. I got to enjoy the fun part of just simply choosing an option and letting everyone use their creative direction. That's another aspect that was such a blessing- she has so many great contacts and vendor relationships that if Katie vouches for them, you immediately trust them as well. Everyone worked so well together and then Katie made sure the entire wedding ceremony and reception was cohesive, seamless, and (these were our visionary words) warm, cozy, and romantic.... AND SUCH A BLAST! We received so many compliments about the wedding experience from our guests! It was such a joy to just be in the moment on our wedding day and not have to worry about anything else. Katie took care of EVERYTHING. This review doesn't allow enough characters for me to keep singing her praises- she is truly a blessing and we couldn't have done this without her! Hands down she is the best wedding decision to make- besides selecting the groom ;) We love you Katie!

Katie was the first planner I had a meeting with, and as soon as I met her, I knew this was the gal for me! She was so professional, knowledgeable, calming, and friendly that I didn’t even consider anyone else. She immediately set up an organized timeline using a great app called Basecamp. We always knew what was next on the list and when it needed to be done.

The most BRILLIANT part of it all was her décor and design process. Katie asked me, “If you could describe your wedding in three words, what would those words be?” I answered, “farm fairy chic!” The average person (let alone the average wedding planner) would not know what in the world I meant, but Katie totally seemed to read my mind. With only a few extra questions and some pictures of examples that were close to what I wanted, Katie wielded her magic wand and took us on an adventure to meet some of the most amazing vendors. Her network of vendors was INCREDIBLE, and there is no way we could have found these talented people without her.

On the day of our wedding, we felt as though we had stepped into the most beautiful, elegant dream. My in-laws’ already stunning farm was somehow made even more gorgeous—everything covered in soft blush flowers, flowing greenery, flickering candles, sweet vintage accessories, and twinkling lights. Pure Whimsy Events lived up to its name, because it truly was like a whimsical, woodland fairytale. To give you an idea of how awed people were by the design of the wedding, several of my husband’s fraternity brothers came up to me, unprompted, and asked, “Who is your wedding planner?! How can I have a wedding like this?!” These were SINGLE men asking me these questions!

Apart from her organization, effectiveness, and killer design skills, Katie helped make the day of the wedding go super smoothly. I knew Katie would be taking care of everything, so I could just breathe and enjoy the day! In short, you want, no, you NEED Katie!

Katie was nothing short of amazing. She was knowledgeable and helpful right from the start, always going above and beyond. Not only did she help with handling the main vendors, but she was always available to bounce ideas off of or offer suggestions. Katie's level of organization left this "type A" bride confident since I could not handle everything on my own. I don't know what I would have done without her. Katie and her team made sure everything went off flawlessly so that my husband and I could just enjoy our wedding without stress. I could not recommend Pure Whimsy Events enough!

Katie was a fabulous wedding planner! We had a large, formal wedding, and I never could have handled all the details even with the hotel coordinator. Her constant communication with me, the bride, and the vendors, allowed us all to really enjoy the day when it came. Everyone mentioned how relaxed and happy I was:) This is because I was! Katie is an exceptional wedding planner and just a wonderful person. I truly cannot imagine anyone better. Her incredible attention to detail and her ability to balance a million moving pieces with seemingly effortless ease made us feel confident our wedding was in good hands from start to finish. Katie is simply fantastic. She not only knows the ins and outs of event coordination and planning, but she really knows how to make sure the bride and groom (and their parents!) are able to enjoy their special day. We completely trusted that no detail was overlooked and that all of our guests were taken care of. Katie's expertise mixed with our personal touches worked well together to create a truly unforgettable day ...plus, my husband and I actually got to eat dinner at our own wedding! Perhaps most memorably, Katie worked with our wedding party to pull of an incredible surprise at the end of our ceremony where some wonderful, talented, musical friends led our guests in a surprise serenade of "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" - the perfect personal touch to our perfect day!

I knew there was a reason we were brought to Katie. She literally made our wedding dreams come true. We were engaged for two and a half years so throughout those two years I bought random stuff for decor. I remember telling Katie on the rehearsal, you really don't have to use it all if it doesn't look good. The day of the wedding I think every single thing I bought was out there and it look amazing! She took our vision and made it true. At one point she was the only person I wanted to talk to about the wedding. She understood everything we were going through and knew exactly what to say to make it happen. Did something go wrong during our wedding? Not sure because she never acted like it nor did she let us know. She made everything worth it in the end. Thank you so much for everything Katie!

Katie is total pro. She came highly recommended by our venue, and her expertise and insight made us feel confident and relaxed every step of the way. Her thoughtful approach in the months/weeks leading up to the wedding included simple checklists and manageable goals, so we knew everything had been considered. On the wedding day, Katie and her three assistants had absolutely every detail covered. When we began the wedding planning process my friend Melissa, who had hired Katie for her own wedding, said that Katie was the most valuable money she spent on the wedding. After working with Katie for my own wedding I wholeheartedly agree, that the peace of mind she brings to the wedding planning process and the day of the wedding is the best money you can possibly spend on your wedding! I highly recommend Katie's phone and email support and her wedding organization program, Base Camp is a life saver! I loved how Base Camp helps you see a timeline of everything you have to do and when you need to do it. That was far more valuable to me in getting organized than any of the online planning guides I saw on the internet. What's so wonderful about working with Katie is that she's a calm professional with extensive experience to help you navigate all the millions of questions that you have and help you make sense of each step of the planning process. Katie also went above and beyond with helping me feel comfortable and confidant on my wedding day- even coming to my dress fitting so she could be my reliable helper in getting the bustle done correctly on the day of the wedding. Not only does she make you feel comfortable but she becomes your friend. I felt so trusting of her and I valued her opinion. She's also really fun to work with, she gets down to business on calls and meetings but it's with laughter and ease that makes you feel like you're working with a friend you've known for many years. Having Katie by your side on the day of the wedding gives you the confidence to completely enjoy you wedding and know that it’s all going to go smoothly.She was even able to help calm some challenging family dynamics to make sure everyone felt comfortable. Let me just say if you are looking for a wedding planner Katie and her team are the way to go. My wife and I had scheduled a few meetings to pick the wedding planner that would work best for us. We met with one prior to meeting Katie and from our first meeting with Katie it was meant to be. She is so down to earth and you when talking with her we felt like we have known her forever. That feeling made us say look this is like a friend planning our wedding and our friend would never let you down. So we canceled our other meetings and went with Katie. Katie and her team did not let us down. She was available for questions throughout the year of planning. She would even check in and see where we were at and give her advice. Personally I loved her honest advice and feedback and she was key in helping us select our vendors when we get it down to our final three. She has this amazing talent of being professional but real. That she will give her advice on things like decor, music, flowers etc. not because it is her job but because she has a passion for it and wants your day to be perfect. The day of our wedding I have heard how brides are sick with worry... not us we were enjoying the day with friends getting ready knowing that we had a stellar team on our side and Katie was in charge and had it all under control.

Look no further for a wedding planner! Katie is truly the best! Choosing her to help us plan our wedding was one of the best choices we made throughout the whole wedding process. In fact, our only regret was that we did not reach out to her sooner! Katie is incredibly knowledgeable, super responsive, and truly wants you to have the wedding of your dreams. I honestly don't even know where to start because Katie is amazing beyond words. Everyone always said to me you have to hire a day of wedding coordinator so that you are not the one worrying about things on the day of your wedding. They were so right! I'm just so thankful that we got the best one out there. Our venue, Stone Tower Winery, recommended her, and we couldn't be more appreciative. Her reviews were beyond amazing and her sample timeline spoke to my slight obsession with organization, and we knew we had to have her.

We hired Katie as our day of coordinator, but what she provides you with is way more than that. She is there to answer any questions from the moment you hire her. Every vendor recommendation she gave us was spot on! 2 - 3 months prior to the wedding she meets with you to make your day of timeline. Her precision to detail in this is amazing. She lets you know exactly what time everything will happen, when to leave to get somewhere on time, which person will take care of each task, and more! 2 weeks prior to the wedding she contacts every vendor for you to confirm everything. I couldn't imagine having to do that work ourselves. Though, what is most amazing about Katie is how she really makes sure she understands what you want for your wedding and her dedication to make that happen. I didn't quite love how our tables were coming together for the reception but it was 2 weeks out and we didn't want to spend any more money so we decided to be okay with it (none of this unbeknownst to Katie). Then a week prior to wedding Katie emailed me with her thoughts about the pictures I had sent of how the tables would be set and how we could make it more fit our vision. She got to work and by the end of the day we made some changes that fit our budget and made us so happy. The compliments on our tables were endless!

When I first got engaged I was determined to NOT hire a wedding planner. Once I got into the weeds and realized what an undertaking it was I quickly changed my mind. I was referred to Katie by a good friend and the minute I met her everything changed....for the better! Katie is passionate about weddings and is so incredibly knowledgeable on the entire wedding planning process. Her calm and kind demeanor instantly put you at ease, and her go getter attitude makes you trust her. The cliché is true...wedding planning can be incredibly stressful, but Katie does an amazing job making the process digestible and much less intimidating. She breaks everything down and explains everything you need to do day by day. She reminds you what, when, and how to do something and is always willing to answer your questions and provide guidance when you need it! This made the process so much more enjoyable and I was never overwhelmed because I knew Katie was on top of it. The day of my actual wedding was no different. I can honestly say I was relaxed and able to take it all in because I didn't have to worry about ANYTHING except walking down the aisle, saying my vows, and dancing the night away with family and friends. I don't know what I would have done without Katie. She truly has a gift and was meant to be a wedding planner. She helped take my scattered all over the place Pinterest board of random ideas and turn it into an absolutely beautiful event -- while still being budget conscious! I am the father of the bride. Hiring Katie Joga at Pure Whimsy Events was the single best decision we made in planning our daughter's wedding. We had a short timeline from engagement to wedding day (four months), so Katie saved us from having nervous breakdowns, and helped us enjoy the wedding day without having to worry about myriad details. She has a calm demeanor, is very organized, negotiates well with vendors (which likely covered much of her cost), and allowed the bride and groom to maintain creative control of decision making. On the wedding day she managed the flow of events effectively and transparently. She also genuinely cared about our daughter and the whole family, and managed to work through a long to-do list without increasing our stress. I do not have any criticism to offer, and would recommend Katie to anyone without reservation.

I am so grateful to Katie. She is not only personable but also incredibly organized, patient, and competent. We met in person at a restaurant a few months before our wedding, where she asked me all the relevant questions about our wedding. Although I only requested for day-of planning, she was available by email in the months before our wedding to answer any questions. I must have emailed her a hundred times with changes to the wedding plan, up until our wedding day. She reminded me of important details, such as lunch for the bridal party, extra rooms we needed at the venue (for getting ready/photos/just hanging out), the cake display, vendor meals, processional order, etc. Katie, my family, and I did one walk-through at our venue a month before, where we went over the timeline and discussed all the details with the venue coordinator. Katie's suggestions were so useful, because I really had no idea about these things. Katie did one last walk-through by herself the week before the wedding, because it was going to rain on our wedding day. She sent me pictures of the backup site so we could discuss the plan and coordinate with the florist and venue. On the morning of the wedding, Katie collected all the decorations I was keeping to arrange herself. Throughout the day, she kept the whole bridal party and vendors on schedule. If there were any glitches during the day, I didn't notice... Katie took care of everything. She was absolutely the most helpful person during the months before wedding and on the day itself.

I cannot recommend Katie enough. There are so many wedding day-off coordinators out there but her services are exactly what you need. She engages two-three months out and connects you with a planning system that will keep you in check if you don't have a wedding planner package. She will answer your emails, calls no matter how far out of your wedding date you are and will keep you at ease. The week leading to our wedding not only she was running everything behind the scenes but she will be there for you for anything you may need. The day-off couldn't have gone better than we expected. She ran it professionally and amazingly. She took the time to know all of our vendors to plan everything out and to address any minor issues that tend to arise. I had the best day of my life and it's literally because of this girl. Thank you Katie for making my dream day come true, I am sure you will continue to make brides have a blast in your future years.

I cannot recommend working with Katie enough. She made our wedding planning process so organized and fluid. We booked partial planning and Katie provided us with guidance along the way as we booked vendors. She jumped in two weeks out from our wedding and helped coordinate all of the day of vendors. As for the day of our wedding, well, she was a gem. She was with the bride in her room the entire day and kept everyone on time and calm. We had to move our ceremony inside due to weather and Katie worked with our vendor teams to make the room look like it had always been meant to be there. Throughout the evening, she was around to insure everything ran smoothly and that we got a chance to eat. We really enjoyed the opportunity to work with Katie and would recommend her to everyone and anyone!

What a terrific wedding planner! Katie is with you from the moment the planning starts and well after the event is over. Her outstanding organization skills and network of vendors are impressive. She is so patient with her clients and on top of everything!

Katie is the actual best. We hired Katie for day-of services only, but she was there the whole way making sure that everything was taken care of. Even though she was just helping for the actual wedding day, we still had several meetings, she came to meet with a few of my vendors, and really went above and beyond what I was expecting out of day-of coordinator. And for the actual wedding, every single detail was spot on. She handled every slight mishap that came up, and was completely on top of everything so that I could just enjoy the night. Her assistants were also super sweet and helpful too!

I honestly cannot even begin to fathom the hot mess that my wedding would have been without her. I HIGHLY recommend Katie and Pure Whimsy!

I was lukewarm on the idea of hiring a wedding planner at first. After working with Katie, I can't recommend Pure Whimsy enough. We were married on a farm without a lot of built-in facilities, so we had to bring in many different vendors. Katie was superb throughout. She thought of details we hadn't considered, suggested how best to deal with vendors who were being difficult, and helped us coordinate all the day-of logistics. She was incredibly responsive throughout the process. Not only was Katie excellent at her job and pleasant to deal with, her service turned into an incredible value because she helped us negotiate and eliminate certain items that we did not need. Our only regret is not bringing her on board sooner.

My husband and I hired Katie for Day Of coordination for our wedding in June 2015 and she is absolutely fantastic! I cannot say enough how amazing she is. She is super easy to work with and so helpful when it comes to anything and everything you need. She is also great at listening when you have a specific request or vision but also making suggestions and even decisions when you need help. I also was scrambling on several things at the end and things always end up changing a bit and she is great at rolling with the punches and dealing with anything that is thrown her way. She went way above and beyond my expectations and I can say without hesitation that our wedding would not have been such an amazing day without her! We were also on a tight budget so her pricing and services fit perfectly since we needed help and but did not want a full on wedding planner (although I'm sure she would do an absolutely AMAZING job if we did)! Overall, I highly recommend Katie and will continue to pass her information along to anyone that I know gets married.

Katie and her team were amazing. She was the wedding planner for my sisters wedding. I think being organized is one of the most important things for wedding planning and Katie was one of the most organized planners I have seen. She was also very relaxed which is super important for the bride and her family because weddings can be stressful no matter how prepared you are. Her determination to get things done and her professionalism were everything we wanted in a planner. I feel that it is important to get things done and also be flexible, Katie was both of these and we cannot thank her enough for everything she did to make my sister have the wedding of her dreams. She was also reasonable priced which really helps since most people are on a tight budget planning a wedding. Also during photo hour Katie took some snaps so we would have the pictures quickly and got them to us the next day, it was nice to enjoy some of the pictures before we get the professional ones. I highly recommend Katie and her team, you will not be disappointed!!

We hired Katie for day-of-coordination and she was wonderful to work with. She is very professional and responsive, not to mention fun and outgoing! Katie went far above and beyond the basic package that we hired her for and was a great advocate for us throughout the entire planning process, from meeting me at my house to go through logistics to even providing officiant suggestions when ours fell through with very short notice. On the wedding day, we had no worries at all and knew we were in great hands with Katie's attention to detail. Everything went perfectly and we highly recommend her for any bride, whether they just need day-of coordination or full planning services. Katie's fee was definitely some of the most important money we spent in the whole wedding, and it was worth every penny and more. I don't know how I would have planned everything without her and am so happy we picked her and Pure Whimsy Events!

Katie is awesome! When we first met with Katie we knew she was the one instantly. We utilized a slew of vendors and a site that Katie had never worked with before and she took it all in stride. I know that a wedding coordinators job can not be easy but to do their job on top of having never worked with the vendors and still hitting a home run is just absolutely amazing. Katie provides excellent feed back regarding wedding matters and goes above and beyond the package that you pay for. She is very responsive and goes out of her way to ensure that she talks with you on a regular basis. She makes you feel like you are her only client even though she is working with dozens of people at once. Katie goes out of her way to ensure that her clients get the best possible wedding day and that they enjoy every minuet of the day. Katie even picked up a lunch we ordered the day of the wedding and delivered it to the hotel for us so she could ensure that we ate before things got underway that day. It was that level of dedication that made our wedding day very very wonderful and for that we will be eternally grateful. If you want a wonderful coordinator then Katie should be at the top of your list.

Katie is AMAZING!!!!!!! We hired her for month-of coordination and she gave us so much more. We booked her early in our planning, probably a year prior to our wedding. She was always available for questions and vendor suggestions when I couldn't narrow down our options and she recommended the BEST DJ [Craig Wood]. Katie does not let any detail go untouched and is open to everything. My dad had super-secret speech hilarity planned and she helped it go off without a hitch! A major win: we did not want champagne for toasting on the tables and when we sat down for dinner they were there. I told Katie and she handled it so that we did not have to pay for the champagne. She worked amazingly well with our venue coordinators and with our Priest. I can't recommend her enough. We gladly would have paid triple her fee for how amazing she is. I also definitely now count her as a friend :-)

I can honestly say the best purchase my husband and I made for our wedding day was Katie Joga at Pure Whimsy. We hired Katie for Day of Coordination and she was phenomenal!

Katie impressed us from the very start by truly getting an understanding of us and what we wanted our day to be about. She is willing to help out with tough decisions and go on vendor meetings (which is extremely beneficial because there are so many aspects that we had not even thought about that Katie had brought to our attention.) In fact, on our final meeting at our Venue our Venue Coordinator was so impressed with Katie, the timeline she created and her organization that the Venue coordinator had asked Katie for her details for her own wedding

Leading up to the wedding, Katie continuously checked in with us to see if there was anything she could do to take any stress away. In addition, she had been in contact with all of the vendors so everyone knew when, where and what to expect.

The whole day went off without a hitch. I literally had people after the wedding telling me that it was the smoothest wedding they had ever been to. Even my bridesmaids (which we all know can be a tough job) told me they felt the day literally had no stress and that they felt that was a direct correlation of having Katie there.

Most importantly I truly felt that Katie understood what we wanted from our wedding day and relayed that message accordingly to the vendors. After the big day we both felt that there wasn't a thing that could have gone better on the wedding -- the reason being, Katie. Katie's organization, clear experience, willingness to go above and beyond and truly understanding what we wanted made her invaluable to us!

We truly would recommend Katie to anyone who is in need of Wedding Planning or Day of Coordination -- She is amazing!

If anyone out there is looking for a magician/angel/professional wedding extraordinaire - then please hire Katie Joga with Pure Whimsy Events to help you with your wedding planning needs. From the very moment I met her at our 1on1 interview, I knew immediately that we would work very well together, and that she was on top of her game. I didn't have to think twice before deciding that I would hire her. The 2 biggest things (among what feels like a billion other things) that drew me in were 1-How kind and genuine she was. She clearly loves what she does and wants the best for all of her brides. 2-The e-tools she brought to the table. PWE provides really detailed and well executed excel & google doc spreadsheets to help you easily track your progress/payments/to-do's/vendor contact info/etc. You also get access to a really awesome online progress tracking site called BaseCamp to really stay on top of everything that you have to do. Even though I only hired PWE for the "Month Of" services, it still felt like I had a full on planner for the entire year of planning time - as Katie was ALWAYS there if I ever had any questions or need for advisement/etc.
Once the clock ticker was counting down the months/days and we were in the home-stretch, I felt so at peace and at ease with everything we had on the table with our to-do's with our vendors, because Katie took all of the stress out of correspondence with vendors and careful review of their contracts/etc. I never once felt like I was going to pull my hair out or have a fit. Not only did I feel like I had an extremely efficient and organized planner, but I also had a friend to tackle all the last minute items with. On the day of, Katie and her assistant were on point. I was able to enjoy EVERY.SINGLE.SECOND of my wedding, and I was really able to soak it all in. I really think that is THE most important part. Thank you Katie from the bottom of my heart for making my day the MOST special day of my life.

When my wife and I were in the beginning of our wedding planning process, we had an argument where I was insistent that we did not need a wedding coordinator. This will now live forever in the book of "I was wrong and you were right" arguments, and truthfully, I couldn't be happier for it.

Within around 30 seconds of speaking with Katie we knew she was absolutely perfect for us. She is infectiously enthusiastic, incredibly detail oriented, and has the type of assertively-friendly personality you want in the person who's job is to make sure your big day goes perfectly. From the day that we booked Katie, she played the roles of sounding board, therapist, and project manager. Perhaps most importantly pre-wedding, she helped us navigate the waters of making important decisions and negotiating with vendors. When our lighting and decor vendor fell through, she immediately had the right person for us (and we were extended a discount!). Four days before the wedding when our escort cards disappeared in the mail, she took care of it in a heartbeat.

When it came to the Wedding Day, we were relaxed as could be knowing that we were in the best hands. Everything went completely perfectly as planned, but the comfort came in knowing that if there is the slightest glitch, Katie would have solved it long before we or our guest would have even noticed. Now being several months married, I can easily say that working with Katie was the best money spent. So good in fact, I'm even willing to tolerate a life-time of "Told you so..." from my wife.

Katie and her staff were absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond what we expected. The day of the wedding, they took care of every single detail. During our wedding planning, my husband and I had grand plans for our wedding decorations and Katie and her staff turned our ideas into the perfect wedding we had hoped for.

From the first time I contacted her, Katie responded within minutes while other vendors took days to respond. She maintained this level of professionalism through our wedding and even after our wedding she has still been here for us. She was prepared for every single detail from suggestions on vendors and ways to save on the budget, to having the smallest details covered such as having pins for when the buttons for my bustle broke.

Katie, who runs Pure Whimsy, is the ultimate wedding planner. She knows her stuff about venues and vendors in the DC area; drives a hard bargain to get her clients great deals; has good relationships with amazing photographers, florists, DJs, and caterers; and (possibly most important) she is very sweet and funny and the kind of person you want to be friends with. She kept a constant eye on our budget and kept us at or under it. And she did an amazing job at making my vision of the wedding into reality. Our wedding ceremony and reception were gorgeous thanks to Katie's great ideas and flawless execution on the day of the wedding.

When my husband and I first met Katie to discuss the possibility of her being our wedding planner, she told me that she would be my best friend over the next 10 months leading up to the wedding. She was right -- I relied on her for wedding design ideas and feedback, for emotional support when I was stressed or overwhelmed, and for backup with vendors. My husband, who was against hiring a wedding planner because he thought it was a waste of money, has said many times that hiring Katie was well worth the money and one of the best decisions we made. I don't know how I would have gotten through all of the planning without her and am so happy we picked her to help us plan such an important day.

We used Katie's day-of services, but honestly, it felt like Katie was always there whenever you needed her to be- day or night. We met with her a few months before our wedding day where she got to know my husband and myself as a couple and what kind of vision we were going for. She really listens to what you want and is very mindful of your needs.
Katie is such an easy person to work with because she has such a great personality and will always be honest with you. I got a lot of advice from her and vendor information as well- She has a lot of contacts out there so utilize those!
Katie is an EXTREMELY organized person and our wedding day ran flawlessly all thanks to her and her team. We really want to thank you so much for making us feel like royalty on our wedding day. She made sure we were running on schedule throughout the entire day; she made sure that the vendors were where they needed to be doing what they needed to do. She took care of us like no other- making sure that we had enough to eat and enough to drink. Katie and her team were the reason why my husband and I were able to enjoy the night so much- we literally did not have to worry about anything. She directed us from the time we entered our venue up until the last dance at the reception. Her and her team made everything so easy for not only my husband and myself, but for our families as well. If I could give Pure Whimsy more than 5 stars, I would. I simply cannot say enough good things about this wedding planner. I would not have had the wedding of my dreams without Katie.
Katie was available to me as much as I needed her to be, and for whatever I needed her to do. If I'd tried to organize such a big event without help, I would've drowned in stress. But with Katie, wedding planning was fun.
When I was considering whether to hire a wedding planner, I worried that such a person would try to impose their own vision on my wedding, but that was not at all the case. Katie was 100% dedicated to making this wedding happen the way my husband and I envisioned, and she succeeded beyond what I'd even hoped for.
I'm one of those people who's been fantasizing about her wedding since childhood, and with Katie's help, my wedding really was a dream come true. I looked and felt like a fairy tale princess, and got rave reviews from the guests, who were awed by the beauty of the event and who had a fabulous time.

My husband and I hired Pure Whimsy Events for the day of coordination of our wedding (September 20, 2014). After several months of planing with Katie, we asked her to take on the additional task of planning our complicated rehearsal dinner (which was a wine tour of Fauquier County, VA complete with transportation to/from Arlington, VA). Katie blew both the wedding coordination and rehearsal dinner out of the water!!! She is extremely professional, responsive, and will truly be "on your side" as you negotiate with additional vendors. She really cares about your wedding and on top of that, she is so easy to work with! Katie went above and beyond to fit in an extra walk through at our venue a week before our wedding when we weren't comfortable with our caterer's timeline and wanted some extra time to go through it all. She also went above and beyond to ensure that we could bring our dog on the charter bus for our wine tour! Katie also worked with two very difficult vendors (our venue and our caterer) for our wedding, and she did so with complete professionalism and handled last minute problems without adding stress to us. As for the day of execution of our wedding, I can honestly say our wedding would not have run on time or run as smoothly as it did if I were not for Katie. We had a lot of moving parts including 4 different transportation options and she handled everything with ease. As I look back on my wedding weekend I am still realizing things that Katie managed without me even knowing (such as getting my personal items out - veil, shoes, etc - for the photographer to shoot while also making sure I got to my first look on time). If we didn't have Katie for our wedding weekend we would have had a completely disaster of a wedding! Thank you Katie and Pure Whimsy Events!

I cannot recommend Katie J. enough! If you are looking for a professional, detail orientated, responsive, reliable and fun Day of Coordinator, Katie is amazing. She helped us with whatever we needed and made our day run so smooth and stress free. She takes care of all the little things you don’t even realize you need to do and takes the stress off the bride and groom and family. She keeps everything running on time and without stress. I had two friends use Katie and recommend her and my husband and I could not have been happier!! My husband who works in marketing and conference management thought Katie’s event skills were great. I really wanted someone who responded to our questions and concerns and Katie is on email 24/7. It was great to know she was always there when we needed her. She also recommended our amazing string quartet and is well networked. Our families also thought she was amazing. I’m so sad our wedding is over because that means we no longer will get to communicate with Katie however we have recommended her to several friends and would recommend her to anyone in need of a fabulous DoC!!

We used Pure Whimsy Events as our day-of wedding coordinator. From day one it was well worth it! We met with Katie for our initial meeting and she was very professional and I was impressed with how organized she was. She showed us sample schedules that she uses to make sure everything on the Big Day goes according to plan. We also talked about the feel that we wanted for the wedding and she totally seemed to get the look we were going for.

Throughout the wedding planning process Katie was very helpful. She was always a quick email away and many times, within a few minutes, she had written us a response. She was able to provide us many different suggestions for vendors, etc. and she always kept in mind our budget. Anytime I would get stressed out about something that would have to happen on our wedding day, I would take a deep breath and remind myself that that is why Katie would be there.

As it got closer to the wedding, Katie took over all communication with the vendors, which was a big relief to me. She walked through the wedding site with us and made sure to ask all the right questions. She was also there for our wedding rehearsal and was really invaluable for the day-of. I know our wedding venue was not the easiest to deal with (tight timeline for setting up, etc.) but she and her assistant took care of everything.

I always tell my husband that hiring Katie was the best money we spent on our wedding and he totally agrees because not only did she make sure the day went smoothly, but she also gave us a peace of mind leading up to, and on, our wedding day.

From the beginning, my husband and I knew we wanted to hire a day-of wedding coordinator to handle all the details, and (most importantly) any crisis that may arise. Given that we have both worked in events professionally, we know the kinds of things that can go wrong, and also the amount of work that goes on in the background to throw a great party - wedding or otherwise.

Katie helped us keep everything organized and on time in the planning process, and referred several vendors to us including the transportation (which was much less expensive than others we'd looked into). While trying to keep everything straight and organized, I started feeling like I was losing my mind - but Katie was there to keep my head on straight (and in turn, my husband's). She reviewed contracts for us and called out anything that might seem abnormal. She created a detailed timeline for the day-of, was on time for ALL of our meetings (either one-on-one or with vendors), and of course made sure we had everything we needed throughout our wedding day - even offering to buy me coffee in the morning.

Katie is sweet, enthusiastic, meticulously organized and hard working. It doesn’t matter how simple your wedding is, I would suggest hiring Katie to help keep you sanity throughout the process and also so you don’t have to worry about anything on the wedding day except enjoying it. She also knows when to crack the whip with vendors to make sure they deliver on their promises, which is not always easy to do. Thank you, Katie, for making the process that much easier and our wedding day so stress-free (for us)!

PS. Her emergency kit is worth its weight in gold. There were things in there we didn’t realize we needed until we did!

Katie and her staff were incredibly attentive and efficient. Her lovely manner made everyone feel comfortable and relaxed. It was quite a lot of work, coordination, phone calling, etc. and required great multi-tasking skills and patience. But Katie was very understated about her challenges and solutions.

In advance, Katie had well considered plans for any number of incidental things. On the day of the wedding, she was at hand at every turn, ready to provide whatever was needed. Further she was as fresh at the end of the evening, as she was at the beginning of a very long day, while the rest of us were a bit wilted. She rolled with our last minute changes and was so genuine in her smile (ALL day long!) you could see how much she loves her work.
If you are uncertain about the investment in a wedding coordinator, Katie is worth every penny, and then some. I cannot say enough good things about our experience!

Truly could not have had such a wonderful wedding for my daughter without Katie's expert assistance. Since neither myself or the bride reside in the Washington,D.C. area I had no idea where to start. We contracted for full planning services and I believe Katie and Pure Whimsy went above and beyond what I expected. Every aspect of the wedding was organized and coordinated perfectly. Comments from guests were all positive whether it be with regards to venue, food, music or favors.
I would definitely recommend Pure Whimsy for any event.

Katie was great to work with. She was always responsive to questions. We met several times before the day of the event and communicated frequently via phone/email. She had great suggestions when I asked wedding/decor/vendor questions. She also handled most of the vendor communication, and was insistent that the week leading up the wedding I didn't need to handle anything :) Being that the wedding was in my parents backyard, I didn't know this was possible! She made what could have been a very stressful planning experience into something enjoyable. She was great!

Katie is very meticulous, organized, professional, responsive, thorough, and absolutely pleasant to work with. We needed a DOC to help us on the day of and she gave us a quote for a-la-carte services since we thought there were only certain things we needed help with. When you are getting married for the first time, you have no idea what to think about so having a good DOC really helps. There were SO many things we would've never thought to consider if we had tried to do this on our own. Turns out, we needed more help than we originally thought and Katie, without hesitation, took lead on all of them. She never stopped because it wasn't originally in the contract- she was devoted to our wedding and was willing to go above and beyond. Katie is extremely detail-oriented & will think about every detail in the wedding- from having slices of cake packed up for us to grabbing our keys, so that they could pack up our car while we were dancing. Katie wasn't actually at our wedding, Chelsea (DOC) and Laura (assistant) were. We were originally worried about this since we had been working with Katie all along, but everything went smoothly and perfectly. There is nothing to worry about if you are doing the planning with Katie and Chelsea is there on the day of instead. Chelsea &Laura were aware of all the details and did everything perfectly. When we arrived, everything was beautifully placed. We had done all the decorations ourselves (minus floral arrangements), & I had no idea how all these things would come together, but Chelsea & Laura did such a BEAUTIFUL job placing everything in JUST the perfect position that I was in complete awe with how everything came together. It was wonderful ending the night and just going to our car to see everything carefully packed. Chelsea and Laura could not have done a better job! We're absolutely grateful that we had Katie, Chelsea, & Laura help us with our day! It was definitely the best investment we had made for our wedding.

Katie Joga is a vendor's dream to work with! I was the floral designer for a couple that had hired Katieas their planner. From the very beginning she was organized and extremely professional and always on top of every detail. I appreciated that she wanted communication from all of the couple's vendors so as not to burden them with every little question. Once I arrived at the venue Katie and her wonderful assistant were there to help me with placement of the flowers and other decor. She was a delight to work with and I have since recommended her to several of my brides.

Pure Whimsy Events made my dream wedding come true!! We hired Katie few weeks after we got engaged. We got the Cupid's Grandeur package. We really didn't have enough time to plan the wedding ourselves because we both worked pretty long hours every week and my family is from Puerto Rico and my husband's family is from Korea so there was a lot of planning that needed to be done. But Katie literally took care of everything. She was there every step of the way. She sent us 3 options for each vendor based on our budget and needs and we literally choose and she made it happen.

A month before our wedding, Katie checked in with us and reconfirmed with all of our vendors, which took a lot of weight off our shoulders. The day of our wedding, everything ran smoothly, beautifully, and elegantly. She was on top of every detail.

I planned most of my wedding myself, but I knew that I would need a day-of coordinator. Thank goodness I found Katie! She was a godsend in the month leading up to the wedding. Here is a partial list of things that Katie did for my wedding:

- scheduled and attended a walkthrough with me and the venue director one month before
- read all of my vendor contracts to know the scope and terms of service
- contacted all of my vendors to go over the timeline and answered any questions (checking in with me whenever my input was needed)
- conducted the wedding rehearsal, where we went over the processional and ceremony movements (my officiant does not attend rehearsals)
- picked up all wedding items from my apartment right after the rehearsal
- on the wedding day, arrived at the venue at the start of load-in time to set up decor
- greeted, assisted, and paid all vendors as they came and left over the course of the night
- walked around the block, twice, to put quarters in our guests' parking meters
- made sure that everything went according to schedule (and making small adjustments when necessary) and insulated me from any mishaps that might have happened (I don't know of any!)
- packed all items, including leftover food and alcohol, in my car at the end of the night and drove it to the valet at our hotel, where I was already enjoying the afterparty

Katie really went above and beyond to make sure that my needs were met. She is not only super competent but also very friendly and enthusiastic. I had sought and received many quotes and proposals for day-of coordination. Although Katie's rate was very reasonable, there was another planner who offered a slightly lower quote and seemed to have a few more years of experience. However, I went with my gut and picked Katie because her responsiveness and friendly tone put me totally at ease. It felt like I gained not an assistant but an ally. Thanks Katie!

Katie was great. She took the reigns early and assuaged my worries as the day approached, was proactive and organized and I didn't worry about the vendors as they were in her capable hands. Worth double what I paid her!
