The Perfect Way to Elevate our Wedding

Puget Sound Strings added a level of sophistication and elegance to our ceremony and reception. Their extensive catalog allowed us to easily choose songs which were special to us and our families, and their professionalism was notable. So many guests commented on how fantastic they sounded throughout the evening and the way in which they elevated the event. We would highly recommend Puget Sound Strings!

Booked a sting duo (cello and violin) for a very remote outdoor wedding and couldn't be happier with what PSS did ! Booking and planning process was very easy and they were so accomodating with what I was looking for. The musicians were flexible, went the extra mile and sounded incredible - they really made the ceremony so magical and I cannot thank them enough.

Modern string selections that created the perfect "Bridgerton" wedding vibe

We hired Puget Sound Strings for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner, and we are SO glad we did. I wanted to create a Bridgerton vibe, with modern string accompaniments, and they had a very wide selection of songs to choose from. They honored all my choices for the ceremony, and also my selections for cocktail hour and dinner. Many guests complimented the skill of the trio. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat!

Great Experience for our wedding

We used Puget Sound Strings for our wedding ceremony at Olympic Sculpture Park this July. They really added to the ambiance of the event and they had a great wedding music selection including a lot of modern songs. They added a lot of style to the event. I would recommend using them!

Incredible Musicians!!

We hired Puget Sound Strings for our prelude, ceremony, and cocktail hour music and we are so happy with our choice. They are incredible musicians and have such a diverse repertoire (especially of modern songs, which was the vibe we were going for). They also learned "Simply The Best" for the processional and it was perfect. They helped make the ambiance of our wedding absolutely incredible. Puget Sounds Strings is also so organized and all of the musicians were so kind.

Incredible Musians

Puget Sounds Strings was an absolute pleasure in which to work. The planning process with Rebecca was easy and seamless. She was available, detailed, and answered all of our questions. The quartet, led by the amazing Winnie, played a beautiful set as guests arrived for our Black Tie New Year's Eve wedding. The processional and recessional were perfectly queued, and exactly what we asked for. Then they nailed the selection during our cocktail hour - evoking festive energy for the remainder of our evening. Highly recommend this company!

The Absolute Best in the Industry!

My (now) husband and I loved having Puget Sound Strings perform at our July 2022 wedding at AXIS Pioneer Square in Downtown Seattle! They really helped create a beautiful ambiance for our guests upon arrival to our ceremony, and the musicians really set the tone for the evening. We particularly loved how vast of a music selection Puget Sound Strings has which allowed my husband and I to personalize the music and represent us as a couple. We also got many compliments from our guests for the fun, modern songs the musicians played. We highly recommend Puget Sound Strings, you truly won’t be disappointed!

A dream wedding with the most beautiful music!

Imagine a spring garden in bloom with a bride walking down the path to her groom as a string trio plays the most pleasant music. Puget Sound Strings provided this magical moment for my son and daughter-in-law at Lakewold Gardens. They curated a beautiful blend of classical and modern songs, and their performance was masterful. Beautiful Addition to Our Ceremony

So glad we went with Puget Sound Strings for our ceremony. They did a custom arrangement of a Prince song for us, it turned out perfectly. Everyone was on time, flexible, and super professional. Correspondence with Rebecca leading up to the event was great. Hire this crew if you are thinking about strings--you won't regret it!

Beautiful music from PSS

Rebecca from PSS was fantastic to work with! For our day of, we had a cellist & violinist. PSS was so understanding and flexible during our venue and timing switch-ups due to the pandemic. Our guests noted how much they enjoyed the music and brought an elegant touch to the ceremony.

Easy to work with and BEAUTIFUL performance

The Puget Sound Strings performed the music for my wedding ceremony as well as during the cocktail hour that followed. They were a pleasure to work with and performed beautifully. They make the timing of every song seamless, which in turn made the processional, recessional, etc. stress-free for everyone in the wedding party. They have a great repertoire of songs and also are willing to do custom songs for a very reasonable fee (fee based on complexity). Definitely recommend!

Fabulous string quartet!

Puget Sound Strings was the perfect addition to our wedding! Our quartet was very talented and professional. They played an array of pop covers and timed the songs perfectly as we walked down the aisle. Highly recommend them!

Wedding Music

Puget Sound Strings provided some beautiful music for our wedding. Their response times made it quite easy to work with them. We had a COVID wedding, and everyone from Puget Sound Strings were great at working with our other vendors to make sure everything went well while still maintaining all the state recommendations for COVID prevention.

Simply, amazing!

Puget Sound Strings provided a string trio for my husband and I's wedding ceremony and cocktail hour in July 2019. I regret it's taken me so long to write this review! The string trio was simply, AMAZING. They truly made our wedding ceremony unique and helped bring our vision into reality. My guests were raving about that portion of our ceremony and cocktail hour - they were so impressed and enjoyed the music!

It was Rebecca who we communicated mostly with through email prior to the wedding day. Let me just say, she made the communication and booking process so easy. Their repertoire was definitely impressive and we had a lot to chose of pieces to from. There were 3 specific songs we wanted for our ceremony (Bittersweet Symphony, Here Comes the Sun, & Stand by Me) and I was thrilled to find out they were able to play for us! I also want to thank Rebecca for helping us decide on a song for our bridal party to walk out to after the ceremony. We wanted something a little more upbeat, but still elegant at the same time. She helped us decide on Viva La Vida - the PERFECT ending!

Overall, we were so happy with our decision to have Puget Sound Strings play at our wedding. The booking process was so easy, the string trio came and did an amazing job and everything was just executed so professionally! It truly made our wedding extra special - I had no idea how magical the write music would make the most important part of our day. If you're thinking of booking PSS for your big day or event, DO IT! I assure you, you will not regret it! :)

Hire the strings...and bring the DJ!

HIRE THESE MUSICIANS. This will be long, but let me start out by saying that choosing the musical entertainment for our wedding was one of the most stressful parts for me. There seemed to be so many options, whether I wanted a band or a DJ, what packages... One thing I did know for sure was that I wanted to have a string quartet at our ceremony. My coordinator, Erika Hernandez, referred me to Puget Sound Strings specifically for the quartet, and after the sticker shock of every other wedding vendor, I was pleasantly surprised by the prices Puget Sound Strings offered. On top of that, I saw that they had a "Bring the DJ" package which allowed you to have a string quartet and a DJ for a steal. Now, I am a person who likes to do her research and read lots of reviews. There were absolutely ZERO reviews for the DJ with P.S.S. so I felt like I was taking a bit of a gamble, but honestly it was the best decision I made. For the string quartet, we picked our ceremony songs which they played beautifully. Our guests couldn't stop complimenting how wonderful the music was for the ceremony and cocktail hour. Once we transitioned to dinner, Brad, the DJ, took over. He actually came over to my husband and I to ask us since we chose cinematic music for our ceremony if we would like him to continue that theme through dinner. This was fully of his own initiative and we loved it. We watched our guests have fun guessing what movie the current song was from, and the music was a conversation starter all through dinner. And then....the dance party. One of my main goals for our wedding was to have a big dance party, and truly the dancing never stopped. Puget Sound Strings helped make my wedding absolutely perfect, and I can't recommend them highly enough.

Beautiful sounds to compliment any wedding

We thoroughly enjoyed having Puget Sound Strings be a part of our wedding. I always wanted a string band for my ceremony and they did an outstanding job. I requested a custom song for the bridal entrance and it brought so many of our friends and family to tears hearing my husband and I's song on strings. Excellent experience from PSS!

We hired Puget Sound Strings to play at our Roche Harbor wedding in July 2019. Rebecca and Eli were wonderful to work with - responsive to questions, enthusiastic about setting up details, and happy and excited to be there when it finally happened! They arranged many pieces for us for a very reasonable rate and performed them wonderfully, and their travel fees are incredibly affordable. We loved having them at our wedding and recommend them for yours!

Variety of small ensemble options for your wedding

We booked a flute and harp duo for our wedding ceremony. Of course as the bride I didn’t get to hear too much of their prelude or postlude music, but what I did hear was beautiful – very talented musicians. They barely needed any instructions about what the cues were for the processional song and recessional song – they were obviously very experienced at performing at weddings. Puget Sound Strings makes it super easy to book a variety of different small ensemble groups and pick from a variety of wedding classics, classical, pop, jazz, and movie/musical theme music. For a small fee the ensemble can also learn a new song not on their list of songs, but they had so much variety that I didn’t find that to be necessary. Puget Sound Strings has a great system setup, including online payment, easy to use booking form, and one point person for all communication up until the week of the wedding when I got the contact info for the musicians.

Dream wedding with perfect music

I have always dreamed of having a string quartet for my wedding, and I couldn't have picked a better one! Any questions I had were answered quickly, and the contract and planning was easy. Before the wedding started, they even played some fun songs that matched my musical style, like 'Love is an Open Door' from Frozen! And I will never forget that moment the ceremony started. All my bridesmaids started walking, and then it was my turn. My song was played perfectly, and it took so much effort not to cry as I walked down the aisle. Every aspect of my wedding was perfect, and Puget Sound Strings was a big part of it.

The quartet brought the wedding to another level

Puget Sound Strings provided a string quartet for my son's wedding at Edgewater House in Olalla, WA, in June 29, and the quartet raised the level of the entire event. The musicians were professionals who played with great depth and beauty. During and after the event, many guests commented about how stunning the music was and said the quality was well beyond the 'usual' string quartets they had heard at other weddings over the years. It was also notable that the quartet felt like a cohesive group, not like four classical musicians who just happened to be assigned to this wedding and might not have worked closely together before. We very, very strongly recommend Puget Sound Strings.

They are fabulous and we could not have been more pleased!

What a talented group of musicians and what a pleasure to work with them!!! They performed for our daughter’s wedding ceremony and cocktail hour and everyone was raving about the beautiful music that they produced. But the show stopper for our family was the song that my daughter chose to walk down the aisle - Portuguese Long Song from the movie, Love Actually. They learned this song for her wedding and it actually brought tears to my eyes- it was even more beautiful than in the movie. They are the real deal and we are internally grateful! They are fantastic!!!

Ultimate dream!

It was always a dream of mine to walk down the aisle while having a string duo playing. Brian called the day before to go over logistics and was very professional. Thank you to Brian and his colleague for making a dream of mine come true! The music was amazing. I just wished it was a bit louder. Highly, highly, highly recommend!!!!

Perfectly perfect music for a wedding!!

We loved working with Puget Sound String for our daughter's wedding. The quartet for the ceremony and cocktail hour was beyond beautiful and we had their DJ for our reception/dance. The music and lights made an awesome dance party!!!

Beautiful Music!

We had a strings duo from Puget Sound Strings play our wedding and our cocktail hour. They were super professional and easy to communicate with! Their repertoire has a lot to choose from, so you can craft the exact feel you want. They even have a sample ceremony song list if all the choices overwhelm you! One of my favorite moments from my wedding was when our recessional began to play. We chose "When I'm 64" by the Beatles and our guests got a kick out of it, they even started singing along! I'd highly recommend working with Puget Sound Strings for any event!

A++ Vendor

I really wanted live music at my wedding and all the other live band/musicians I looked at were over my budget. Puget Sound Strings worked well within my budget and for a Cello and Violin player. For the little time I heard them they sounded awesome and my wedding guests were astounded and loved it! They thought I shelled out the big bucks for the live music. It worked perfectly with the time frame I allotted and they were professional and on time. I would definitely hire again if given a chance. Loved it!

Excellent Musicians Variety of music

Impressive musicians. Very flexible with music selections from the classical and the contemporary. We added the harp for extra color. Highly recommend the Puget Sound Strings for weddings or any event where quality music is desired. The music is present but not dominating.

Thank you so much for making our wedding extra special! We very much enjoyed the popular music of the string trio, as did our guests. My one regret is to not have been present for the cocktail hour so I missed some of the songs! (what could we do). The string instruments played with perfect timing and were accommodating to learning a new song so that I could have my dream wedding. Thank you again we were very happy!

So easy to work with! When I picked several songs for the ceremony they were (kindly) candid and suggested the number of transitions might make things feel choppy. I greatly appreciated (and took) their advice and the music was absolutely beautiful!

"I just wanted to take a moment to thank you all for making our wedding ceremony so special. I cannot even begin to express how perfectly beautiful the music was. Just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes. I would imagine that performing at weddings over and over, it would be easy to grow used to the occasion. And I just hoped I could remind you, in case you'd forgotten, just how special what you do really is. This was our wedding day. We will remember this day for the rest of our lives. And your musicians made it even more special than I imagined it. We regretted not catching them before they left, everything was such a blur, I would have loved to meet them and give them my thanks in person.

Wow! These musicians were amazing. Everybody loved the music, they had great music options and played beautifully. I only wish I could have listened to the music longer! They were great to work with and the musicians were very professional.

Mitchell at Puget Sound Strings was very accommodating with our music selection and the feel we were going for the ceremony. I halfheartedly asked if they could play a specific song that was not on their list of songs for my walk down the aisle and they were able to arrange it for me! Mitchell always responded to any questions we had within a day. They were easy and seamless to work with. Puget Sound Strings played beautifully and really made our ceremony extra special, especially with us being musicians ourselves.

I used them to play a custom concert as part of proposing to my girlfriend. They were absolutely perfect! And I had some unusual requests. I had staged a painting class and had them pretend to be regular attendees of the class. On a certain cue, they stopped, grabbed their instruments, and surprised her with the first song while I proposed. They were so nice about the whole thing and couldn't have pulled it off any better. They really went the extra mile to ensure everything would be perfect, and it's a night we'll never forget thanks to them! Highly, highly, highly recommended!

I hired Puget Sound Strings to play at a masters program graduation. They played during the ceremony as well as during the reception. I gave only a little guidance for the ceremony music and let them free-play for the reception. BEST IDEA EVER. They played a wide range of music during the reception that was current and recognizable. Making the arrangements with them was easy and stress-free. I would HIGHLY recommend using Puget Sound Strings for any event.

We had a string duo for our wedding and were very happy with our choice. Our wedding was outdoors and Puget Sounds Strings played beautifully; many of our guests complimented them to us after the wedding! Mitchell was great to work with; he was very responsive and helpful with choosing music for the ceremony. Our duo was also flexible with the arrangements at the venue the day of the wedding, and they had a great sense for when to switch music and pause during and after the ceremony with little guidance from us. We were able to have Puget Sound Strings play at our wedding this June in Snoqualmie, and could not have been more happy with our choice. Their repertoire is fantastic, and they do provide one arrangement not on their list (as long as you let them know well in advance).

Working with Mitchell was very simple and stress-free, and to be honest, we never had to talk to the lead musician on the day of the ceremony. They worked with our officiant for cues, and were able to set up well in advance. It was nice that they needed minimal guidance, and they performed flawlessly! They added a very special touch to our wedding, and I would recommend this group very highly to anyone looking for a string quartet to play at an event.

I am not from Seattle, but I was planning a corporate event there and needed a trio for the pre- and post-receptions. Puget Sound Strings was recommended to me by the venue, and I was extremely pleased. The pre-planning was wonderful and I was put at ease knowing I was in great hands. The musicians were also able to be flexible as we needed them to begin earlier as originally planned. The musicians were prompt, professional, and played wonderfully. I was so excited to have a string quartet at my wedding, and Puget Sound Strings was absolutely amazing! Mitchell from Puget Sound Strings was so easy to work with from the very first email. We had a piano and cello duo play during our wedding ceremony. Our wedding was during a Catholic Mass and Puget Sound Strings was also able to play music during the parts of the mass that needed piano accompaniment! All I had to do was send over the sheet music. Puget Sound Strings made the whole process so easy and stress free! And of course, the music itself was wonderful during the ceremony. We chose a mix of a few modern pop songs during the prelude and more classical wedding songs during the ceremony. We couldn't be more pleased with our experience with Puget Sound Strings. They performed at our outdoor ceremony and reception. We saw them playing at the Seattle Wedding Expo in Jan '14 and reached out to them via email. They provided a wide ranging play list from which to choose selections. Their contract allowed for one additional selection at no additional cost. I took them up on the opportunity. We managed all correspondence through email which included a relocation from one spot to an adjoining spot as well as an interruption for our introduction. They communicated their needs for an outdoor venue as well as the relocation which allowed me to ensure everything went smoothly. They played beautifully and looked like they were having as much fun playing as I was listening to them.

Before the wedding, PSS was easy and straightforward to work with. Their price was reasonable and very competitive with other trios and quartets in the area. And the inclusion of a custom song/arrangement in their pricing put them "over-the-top"! I wanted to surprise my Bride (and the audience) by serenading her in the middle of the ceremony, and they made it so easy! We discussed the song, they did an arrangement, and even gave me a preview audio file so I knew what to expect. Our day-of coordinator gave us a very positive report about PSS being professional, prepared, and on-time. They made wonderful music, playing exactly what we asked of them for the period before the ceremony, the ceremony itself, and the first part of our reception. We selected a broad mix of classic and contemporary items, and all were played beautifully! During the ceremony, my singing was shaky and my tempo didn't match with theirs at first - but they adjusted pace on the fly and even gave me a musical cue (without disrupting the tune) to get us all back on-track so that I could make the most of the song and have a special moment with my bride. Puget Sound Strings really delivered for us, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others who are planning Weddings or Special Events!

I would highly recommend PSS! What an amazing, personal touch for our wedding. We hired a trio about a month before our wedding date and Mitchell was able to make everything work-- no problem! We requested an arrangement of the theme song from "Up" for our bridal party to walk out to, "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles for the Bride processional, and "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis for the unity candle. We hired a string quartet from Puget Sound Strings to play at our lunchtime reception, and we were so very pleased and impressed. From the very first e-mail, Mitchell was very responsive, prompt, and easy to work with. He was very accommodating.

On the day of the event, the Strings did a fantastic job playing incredible music. They were dressed very professionally. We showcased them by seating them in the center of the venue on the stage, and we were not disappointed. We think they might have upstaged us! (But we did not mind at all.) We had requested that they only play classical music, and they did so excellently. Everyone who attended commented how classy and lovely the event was and much credit for making our reception such an enjoyable, memorable, and elegant event goes to the Strings.

We recommend them and would absolutely hire them again -- and are thinking of when we can next.

These musicians are awesome!! We hired the quartet to perform at our wedding. We chose them for their variety of music and their ability to take on new songs as part of their services. They showed up on time and worked with the officiant to get settled and started without any direction from us. During the ceremony, they were able to adjust songs to fit the ceremony timeframes. When the ceremony was over, they wanted to keep on playing!! We received several comments from our guests at how well the performed. My regret is that I didn't get a recording of what they played. We hired a trio from PSS for our baby shower (not a wedding) at the Four Seasons in Seattle. The room was mid-sized and Mitch recommended a trio (as opposed to a quartet) to compliment the space. We hired the string duo (violinist and cellist) for our wedding and we were so pleased with the way everything turned out. Mitchell was so friendly and professional with all the details. They arranged Somewhere Over The Rainbow/Wonderful World by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole for the father/daughter dance and it was so perfect! We had multiple compliments with the music players and selections!

We hired Puget Sound Strings as the ceremony music for our wedding. We hired the string trio and couldn't have been happier with their performance! All of the musicians were top notch and the playlist is a great mix of classical music and rock hits (including Fun., the Beatles, etc.). All of our guests noted how great Puget Sounds Strings both looked and sounded. Yes, it really is worth the money to get a string trio (or quarter) at your wedding.

Mitchell was AMAZING during the process of booking ceremony music. We had run into a double booking issue, and struggled to find musicians who could play on such short notice. Not only were they quick to respond, and maintain communication/organization, they were spectacular musicians! All of our guests were so impressed with the string music, and we loved the atmosphere that it created for our special day! I would recommend them for sure! :)

The Puget Sound Strings were an integral and beautiful part of our ceremony and cocktail hour. Mitchell was incredibly easy to work with. He is insanely responsive and adaptable. Responsiveness is so so important when planning a wedding and he was the easiest vendor to work with. They performed multiple custom songs that we requested specifically for our wedding including Eric Clapton, Coldplay and the Beatles. This gave our ceremony a beautifully unique feel that showed off our personality as a couple. Seeing people smile when they recognized the songs was awesome. They are amazing musicians and we can't recommend them enough if you are trying to create a unique, custom wedding. Puget Sounds Strings are the perfect way to incorporate a tradition element into your ceremony with a bright, fresh, and fun feel.

I have to say, everyone at my wedding enjoyed the music played by Puget Sound Strings. We decided to have the duet (violinist and cellist), and the ceremony was outside. The duo played for our ceremony and the hors d'oeuvre hour. Puget Sound Strings were very flexible, responsive, affordable and professional. I would highly recommend using them for a wedding.

Mitchell and crew not only played 'standards' and played them well, they managed to arrange, rehearse and play flawlessly 10 songs (Beatles) that had to be arranged especially for our ceremony. Mitchell was friendly and responsive as we were preparing their set, came in unobtrusively and professionally on the day of, and all at a very reasonable rate.

Mitchell Duruy was beyond professional. I requested non-traditional music for our wedding and he was able to work each piece effortlessly. I can't say enough great things about Puget Sound Strings! Mitchell was a pleasure to work with the whole way through, made everything so easy for us, and learned a very special song just to perform on our wedding day. Not only that, but they were able to bring a music stand for our officiant's notes at the last minute. Their performance was so lovely and was definitely one of the highlights of an already incredible day. I will always be grateful to the musicians for doing such an amazing job. I worked with Mitchell at Puget Sound Strings to book a string duo for my event. Mitchell was professional and knowledgeable and was willing to come out to my event location (a rooftop deck) for a site visit prior to the event which I greatly appreciated. On the night of the event Mitchell and his colleague arrived on time and set up and played without any additional interaction from me. It was great, I didn't even have to think about them, they just showed up and did the job wonderfully. The music was beautiful and a bit of a different take from the classical tunes, they played contemporary pop and jazz music. I would very much recommend them!

Five star all the way. Puget Sound Strings brought beautiful live music to a personal garden venue. I prefer live music anyway, but in this instance using a DJ just wouldn't have worked.

Mitchell was excellent in his response time, and was willing to guide me in our selection order, when I asked for input. Which I did repetitively. :-). And of course, that takes patience.

He met with me ahead of time, and suggested staying with the trio as we wanted from the beginning, because of the venue size, and layout.

On the day of the wedding, the trio arrived on time, set up without issue, dressed up in black and white and performed flawlessly. I asked them to play special songs after the guests were seated as a tribute to certain family members, which brought tears to some eyes.

I always wanted to have strings at my wedding, and I did! Lovely!

During the planning phase of our wedding, Puget Sound Strings was very responsive to our inquiries and requests. We really enjoyed the violin/cello duets before, during and after our wedding ceremony as well as during our reception. In response to a very late request, PSS created a rendition of Could I Have This Dance for our reception. Thanks, Mitchell and Nathan for a job very well done! We would definitely use PSS again!

Puget sounds strings did a great job during our wedding ceremony! We didn't want many traditional songs played and they had a great list of contemporary songs they could play and also learned 2 new songs just for us at no additional charge. They learned "I'm yours" by Jason Mraz for our recessional and it was amazing! I highly recommend them!

Fun addition to any event

We hired Puget Sound Strings to play at our wedding ceremony and they did not disappoint. They played an array of fun songs during the champagne cocktail hour in the rose garden while the guests mingled and found their seats. They also played the precessional and processional music and were incredible.
I would definitely recommend this vendor to anyone looking for a unique addition to their event.
