    Dessert Bar

    Planning a wedding during COVID was definitely a challenge, but Jesse and his team were amazing. When we needed to push our wedding out a year, Jesse worked with me to update the contract. Not only were the cake and mini desserts beautiful, but they were delicious too. I highly recommend him and his team!

    Wonderful desserts

    The dessert bar was such a hit we didn't even get any. The cake was perfect and very moist.

    Five star bakery and a Three tiered cake

    So my wife and I debated on how much we wanted to spend for the cake. We heard from friends and family that the cake isn't necessarily the thing guests remember from weddings. We decided to do a couple of taste tests around the area and when we did our Primrose Bakery tasting, we fell in love. We decided to go with a three tiered cake with each layer slightly different tastes. If we could re-do all of it, we would choose the tira misu flavor for the base layer because it was an immediate hit! Primrose was able to change the minds of our advisors who said people wouldn't remember the cake- we had multiple people reach out to us after the wedding to extend their gratitude for inviting them to our special event, but also to mention that the cake was delicious. Neither my wife nor I are huge on sugary cakes yet this cake hit the spot.

    They were flexible in their timeline to deliver the cake as our venue had strict rules for food as it is a well kept vineyard supporting multiple weddings a week. If you are looking for a bakery that is friendly, flexible, and delivers a delicious cake, Primrose Bakery is highly recommended!

    We can’t thank Jesse and Primrose Bakery enough. The service was wonderful throughout. They are a preferred vendor with Ruby Hill Golf Club and we met them through an event there. They scheduled a tasting for us on Valentine’s Day (my request) and there wasn’t a flavor I was mad at. We ended up with the Red Velvet, White Chocolate Raspberry, and Tiramisu.

    We talked about my design ideas, I like simple but elegant and wanted to stick to a budget. Jesse was able to put those ideas on paper. We communicated mostly via email on the design. He patiently went back and forth with me on the design a few times because I’m indecisive but the end result was the most perfectly amazing cake that went so well with our perfectly amazing evening! It was so much more than I could have ever imagined. Not only was it breathtaking, it was delicious too. My guests raved about the cake and was sad they weren’t able to taste one of every flavor - it was that good. AND… we’ll get a cake to match our top tier for our first anniversary! Thanks Jesse!!!

    We loved Primrose Bakery! We had our cake tasting here before any other bakeries and that pretty much ruined all the others we went to. His are light and fluffy, and you can actually eat a whole slice without feeling it drop in your stomach.

    We designed our own cake with our colors, and he was on-board with everything. He said he would do whatever we wanted, and he sure did! The cake was absolutely gorgeous, and delicious! We made sure to tell our caterer that we wanted the top layer, and thank goodness we did because the rest got eaten at the wedding!

    We would recommend Primrose Bakery to anyone who is looking for both a delicious and gorgeous cake!

    Out of this world cake. I had a 7 tier cake full of jewels. It was beautiful and very impressive.

    Wedding was March 26, 2011. Cake was the last thing on our mind as my husband and I aren't big on sweets, but we went anyway... and for a person without a huge sweet tooth, i can honestly say i grew one when i came here! Cake was PHENOMENAL! Moist, light, fluffy, and delicious! The final product was beautiful and exactly what we wanted, and tasted even better than when we sampled it! My husband even ate his WHOLE piece! Amy was great to work with and very accomodating since we didn't live in the area. Kudos to the chef too, our guests are still ranting and raving about our cakes.

    Great cakes, great prices, great people... what ore could you ask for!

    Wedding was December 19, 2010. We were so glad we selected Primrose Bakery to make our Wedding Cake. Cake was beautiful as well as delicious. Staff were very helpful and accomodating and made a cake that was perfect. Price was very reasonable. We could tell a lot of pride and love went into making this cake. It helped make our day a success! Thank you.

    Primrose Bakery is not only a 5/5 but a 10/10. Simply fantastic!!! Their work was beyond anything we could have hoped for and my husband and I were simply blessed to have their services. The cake was breathtaking, exquisite and presented in the most elegant way. They were timely, compassionate and willing to work with our budget. It would be to your benefit to use Primrose-as you will be treated to the most excellent of service!

    Their Princess cake sold me. I knew my search was over for our wedding cake.
    They were very reasonably priced and had great customer service.
    I can't say enough good things about them.
    I highly recommend Primrose.

    Our cake was absolutely beautiful. I just wish I had gotten to eat more of it at our wedding! I did taste it at the cake tasting though and thought it was amazing. Our guests all said they loved it as well. It was especially nice that we were able to have 3 different flavor cakes and was not charged any more for having more than one kind of cake in the cake. They were wonderful to work with. I highly recommend them.

    My husband and his family hate wedding cakes and they absolutely loved the lemon cake that we had. Cake looked beautiful. Primrose and our florist (Delford West) worked together so I didnt' have to do anything regarding the flowers that I wanted on the cake. Can't wait to have another cake made for us on our first anniversary.

    The cake looked and tasted amazing! Plus, Larby was really flexible in working with me and made me the exact cake I wanted for 2 of the layers, which wasn't on their standard list of cakes to choose from but is my absolute favorite cake flavor, which was VERY much appreciated.

    Had my three tier, square, asymmetrical wedding cake made at Primrose Bakery in Pleasanton. We loved so many flavors when we went cake tasting that I ordered the bottom layer in white chocolate raspberry and the top and middle layers lemon. First things first....the cake looked absolutely amazing! The decoration was beautiful and I was so happy but cakes are not all about looks. We cut into the cake and it was absolutely perfect. We had so many compliments about it and I'm so glad we saved the top tier to enjoy ourselves afterwards.

    I ordered my wedding cake at least a year and a half before my wedding date. I had a 4 tier cake and they made me an edible topper. We kept the topper and the top tier and the other 3 tiers were completely gone! The only bite I was able to get of my cake was the cake cutting. Will order again from Primrose!

    This review is so long over due!!! If you want a wedding cake -GO TO PRIMESROSE BAKERY!!! Our wedding was 9/25/2011!!!
    The owner was amazing to work with! She made it so much fun, and in the end after the tasting I'll never forget her words "you guys just designed your wedding cake"! That was so true!! Everything we wanted for our cake was done exactly how we wanted, flavors: which you have so many to choose from, the colors were on the dot, the design on the cake was perfect and the most important... The Price!!! Everyone loved how our cake looked on our special day, and all three were just as delicious as the cake tasting :))!!!!

    amazing is all I can say. The cake came out perfect and there was not a piece left! I had to change the timing on the baker a couple times and never once was there any negative frustration on their side (although if there were it would have been well justified) and I loved them for being so understanding of my scattered brain! They delivered, set up and dressed the cake with flowers. Also, I love how they made a new tradition for my husband and I....instead of saving the top part of the cake, they are going to remake the exact replica of it and ship it to use wherever we are so it's fresh and tasty. We loved that idea so much, we've promised that ever 5yr anniversary we'll be celebrating with a new "top of the cake" cake! :)

    We ordered a 3 tier square wedding cake which feeds 100 people. The princess cake was very moist and our guests enjoyed it!

    The cake itself was beautiful, but leaning.. and leaned more as the night wore on. It tasted good, but I didn’t much care for the fondant (outer frosting). I practically needed a knife to cut it, it was so thick and almost glue-like, so I just ate the cake portion that was inside. I don’t remember it being like that at our tasting. Our venue, Ruby Hill Golf Club, required us to use one of their preferred vendors, or pay a $500 surcharge to use a non-preferred vendor, so we didn’t much have a choice in the way of our cake selection, as they only had 2 preferred vendors.(!) Grade: B-

    Larby and Amy are both very sweet and responsive to emails and phone calls. I sent them pictures of what I wanted and they were able to accommodate. Their cakes are light, delicious and beautiful! I received a lot of compliments on the delicious cake.

    Primrose is one of the two preferred vendors for our wedding cake. So we went for a tasting. The owners were wonderful to work with. We can tell that Mr. Primrose is very proud of his work especially in fondant. They even gave us a cute tiramisu box to take home after the tasting.
    After all, we didn't book Primrose because their cake is a bit pricey for our budget.
