I had the pleasure of coordinating a wedding with Damien as the DJ at the Coastal Botanical Gardens this past weekend. Damien is the first and only vendor to reach out to me prior to the wedding on his own accord to make sure he had all the information he needed to have a successful wedding, which I was very impressed by. His equipment was top notch and his skills kept everyone having a great time. I thoroughly enjoyed working and talking with him and I look forward to our next wedding together! It was such a pleasure working with Damien this past spring! As a planner, our job is to make sure everything goes smoothly on wedding day and it really is a team effort. For this event, the weather played a big part in us needing to pivot and redirect our original plans and Damien made sure the party never stopped. He made our reception the best. His military background and his professionalism was great. The music selection was outstanding, I couldn't ask for more. From the beginning reaching out through Wedding Wire, DJ Damien was extremely Professional throughout the whole process. All his responses were prompt and we had a consultation within a few days of making the request on wedding wire. Our wedding was a mixture of Southern and West African culture so we wanted to ensure we had a diverse mix of music. DJ Damien was upfront and honest with us about his limited experience with West African Music (particularly Afrobeats) but his willingness to familiarize himself with the genre for our event and his overall professionalism from the start was what won us over. He was able to work with our coordinator and the venue independently which took a huge weight off our shoulders not having to be a go-between, and he reached out several times to ensure the playlist/set list was being prepared to our standards and featured the right music for all our guests as we approached the day of the event. Definitely a full 10/10 overall, in terms of easiness of working with DJ Damien through the process!
I also have to give Credit where credit is due, as DJ Damien delivered on being able to incorporate the diverse music needs for our reception. Despite having limited familiarity with the Afrobeats genre, he came up with a set list that had both American and west African guests moving on the dance floor for most of the night. The only complaint to be had was that it seemed like we ran out of Afrobeats tracks and had to recycle a few at some point during the night, but that may have been due to having a limited pool of music to work from. Nevertheless, DJ Damien was an excellent choice for our Wedding’s Musical needs!DJ DAMIEN EVENTS's reply:

This was one of the hardest weddings for me by far. Trying to incorporate American and West African music. I'm glad I was able to accommodate everyone at your wedding. You guys even made me want to dig more into Afro-beats music. I do apologize for the limited Afro-beats for your wedding. I was trying to go step for step with the American music to keep everyone engaged. Once again I thank you for letting me be apart of your special day. -
