    The perfect view

This was the most beautiful place to get married. People still ask where we got the backdrop for our pictures! The view was stunning and really made the day!

This was the most perfect place to host a wedding the views alone are amazing for simply beautiful wedding photos!! The food was amazing I have heard nothing but the best comments from my guests following the wedding. each and everyone of my guests have said the food and cocktail hour were the best they had ever experienced here in NM. My only goal was to make sure that my guests were treated to an amazing meal and this made me really happy, the Prairie Star delivered exactly that. I would highly recommend this venue for a small intimate wedding.

The Prairie Star is an amazing venue for a wedding! The views are gorgeous and made for awesome photos. The food, we had the Italian Buffet, was delicious. Service was great. Rebecca was wonderful to work with.

The Prairie Star was perfect for our wedding. We're a laid-back couple and love the mountains. The backdrop was breathtaking (someone actually asked me if it was real or photoshopped - they said it didn't look real).
The prices here were much more affordable than the other venues we looked at, and the bartender and food are already there, so it's a couple less vendors you have to worry about. On top of that, I thought Prairie Star was also the most beautiful.
The food was also amazing. We didn't get to try the food ahead of time, so I was a little nervous (I wasn't a huge fan of the regular food served at the restaurant), but it was so delicious. We're both native New Mexicans, so we ordered the Mexican buffet - and I was so sad my dress was so tight or I would have totally stuffed my face.
Rebecca was amazing and always responded right away to emails. One of my other vendors commended her as well because so many event managers at venues come and go, but Rebecca has been there for a long time and knows what she's doing!

My wife and I held our wedding here on 6/3/16, and couldn't have been happier with everything. The venue was perfect for our intimate wedding, and our guests raved about everything. Rebecca and staff were there to take care of our every need! Prairie Star not only made our wedding special, but as carefree and stressfree as you can possibly be. We are so thankful for everything!!

Prairie Star was an amazing venue for both our reception and ceremony. Rebecca is wonderful to work with. She answered all of my questions fast and made the planning process easy. We wanted a wedding that was fun, stress free and as minimal of work on our part and that is exactly what we got! Rebecca and her team went to work and we had very little we had to do. She also made sure the ceremony, photos and reception went off without a hitch. The views are breath taking and the property is simply wonderful! The food was simply amazing and not what you would expect from a wedding! Everything was perfection.

Motivated by a last-minute venue change, we visited Prairie Star and instantly fell in love with the mountain vistas and charming adobe restaurant. We were excited to be able to hold our wedding ceremony outdoors, under the spreading tree that perfectly framed the unobstructed view of the Sandias. Our reception in the banquet area of the restaurant was perfect as well, with plenty of space for our band, dancing, dinner and mingling. The chef worked with us to create a perfect NM-styled buffet, and Rebecca, the special-event coordinator was incredibly easy to work with and made sure our evening went smoothly. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience!

Prarie Star is a BEAUTIFUL venue. The inside of the building is your basic area, but clean and simple. The view of the golf course and the mountains is really what makes this place so unique. The ceremonies are held outside on the lawn, the backdrop a gorgeous view of the Sandias. Food is top notch, you can do plated or buffet. Champagne and wine selections are excellent. We did cash bar and drinks were resonably priced. No refund once you reserve. Access to a bridal room on site two hours prior, the room was large and accomodating. The event coordinator Rebecca answered all my questions up to the day promptly was and was extremely professional and helpful. The staff on site the day of the wedding were the same. This is a place you have to see to really appreciate, but I highly recommend it. Only issue is the distance from ABQ (about 25 minute drive). I had been to weddings at the this venue and was so grateful to have mine here.

The wedding coordinator is very helpful and the place is beautiful. The food prices are reasonable with really great choices. There are many options for venue placing inside and outside. Overall we have had a great experience and have been able to stay on budget. I can't wait for the wedding day.

The servers and bartenders were VERY nice, they really went above and beyond for you. The menu is a bit pricey on top of the room reservation, but you can't beat the view. So it's totally worth it--at least that's what my husband and I thought! There is a minimum food expenditure if you have a saturday wedding, so if you have a smaller wedding you may end up buying a bunch of appetizers like we did. But again, the view makes it all worth while. The dance floor is pretty small, that was really the only negative about the place. Everything else was great. The food is delicious--and i'm pretty picky about food.

Beautiful outdoor venue with the mountains in the background; only once did a golf cart zoom by during the ceremony--and it was not much of a distraction (only 1 person mentioned it to us) We (and the guests) loved that the reception was able to be held immediately after the ceremony just inside. Rebecca Chaney is very responsive to email, and will answer every question quickly--by email only, phone is more difficult; we were under the impression that she "only did event site coordinating," which she told us when we first met, however she was at the rehearsal and paid attention so that she was able to send people down the aisle, open the doors, etc. during the ceremony, which was an unexpected bonus! Your rehearsal is scheduled for you--3 hours prior to the wedding the night before yours (if there is one the day before yours, which is probable if it is a weekend...we were married on a Sunday and had a rehearsal at 2:30 the Saturday before, which was moved up a half hour the week of the wedding because the other wedding moved without telling Rebecca). The bar is your choice; you can choose to only host the cocktail hour, the whole thing, for certain people, etc. ORDER MORE APPETIZERS THAN YOU THINK YOU'LL NEED, and make sure you have someone grab some for the wedding party....our attendants didn't get any, only a few guests did not--we had 108 people total and ordered 3 appetizer set-ups (which were beautifully displayed). You may ask them to serve the cake--they set it out at the end of the buffet, and not everyone knew it was there (or have your DJ announce that it is there). Tell them you expect the servers to KNOW what they are serving--we had an ALL apple cider toast, and one of the servers asked if the people wanted champaign...and a few guests didn't take any until the mother of the bride said "this is all supposed to be apple cider...what are you serving???" then it was corrected--when people heard the server's response..."oh, then it must be cider", the other guests took some. The New Mexican buffet was wonderfully prepared, and perfect because we had quite a few out of town people who enjoyed the local flavors. Prairie Star was the best value as compared to any of the places we searched for in Albuquerque or surrounding areas, and nobody seemed mind the drive.
