Beautiful Flowers

Candy has been the go-to florist for my family for a long time. My grandmother used to handle the flowers for the gift shop at Good Shepherd Hospital when she worked there, and still uses her for her own personal flower needs. My mom also had Candy do her flowers for her wedding back in 2006. So it was a no-brainer when it came time for me to get my flowers. Candy was super helpful and created beautiful bouquets and boutonnieres for us. I wanted all cala lilies and she did not disappoint. My mother-in-law also cannot handle very strong floral smells, so Candy made sure to get flowers that would not trigger anything for her. She even was able to do a silk corsage for us! Thank you for helping make our day perfect!

An Excellent Experience

Candy was such a pleasure to work with! She was able to distill my references down into a profile that was perfect for our wedding. I had a particular palate and list of flowers I wanted to include and she was helpful in making suggestions that made the arrangements even more amazing. The florals were beautiful and she even let us borrow her vases! Would certainly recommend.

Candy was incredible to work with! She understood my vision for our wedding flowers and improved upon it! She has such an artistic eye and really went above and beyond incorporating family heirlooms into the centerpieces and recommending newer pieces that would compliment the old.

Candy was so easy to work with! She responded to all questions promptly and professionally. I gave her a couple "do's and don'ts" and really left the creative process up to her... I could not have been more pleased with the outcome!!! My flowers were not only exactly what I had imagined, but they were beautiful and SO unique! I received so many compliments on my flowers and my bridesmaids couldn't stop talking about their bouquets! I would 100% recommend Candy and will definitely use for future floral needs.

Candy was wonderful to work with! I didn't have many preferences with flowers and all I wanted was neutral earthy tones to be part of the flowers! I trusted her enough with the flower arrangements and it turned out to be perfect and everything I imagined! I had a budget and she definitely kept that in mind as well! She was easy to work with too and very quick to respond to my numerous emails! I definitely recommend her!

Candy was amazing to work with! She also was incredibly accommodating the day of my wedding and delivered the flowers on time with no issues. She was incredibly respectful of my budget and the flowers turned out exactly how I wanted them to. She asked me to send her pictures of what I wanted as well as what types of flowers to use for both the bouquets and centerpieces. She did bouquets for me and my bridesmaids, boutonnieres, corsages, high, medium and low centerpieces, cake decorations and greenery around our seating chart. I can't say enough good things about her and I believe the pictures below speak for themselves!

Candy was wonderful to work with and the flowers were beautiful! She timed it right with having the fullest blooms on the day of our wedding. I had sent her inspiration photos, what I liked/didn't like and she was spot on! We were married at the Onion Pub in the summer and she is very familiar with the venue. My husband's parents are horticulturists (so they know their flowers!) and they are still raving about the quality and arrangements. Candy was very flexible, too - our first look location depended on the weather (and so did the floral personal delivery). She was fine with us making that call 10AM the day of. We couldn't have been more satisfied!

I used Candy for my wedding last weekend, and she was absolutely amazing! I had a very specific idea of what flowers I wanted, and had other florists tell me they couldn’t do the jewel toned colors I wanted.

Candy looked at my pictures and ideas, and said no problem. She was able to give me EXACTLY what I wanted, and we couldn’t have been happier with our flowers!

She was great and easy to work with, and the results were stunning. So many people said they had never seen wedding flowers with that gorgeous of color!

Thank you so much for our flowers, they were exactly what I was picturing, made our wedding day that much better!!!!

I have used Candy for quite a few events over the years and she has never disappointed me. This spring my step-daughters wedding was no exception. The flowers were beautiful and the guest compliments flowed! As a past event planner, I can speak volumes for her flora

Candy was highly recommended by my brother who worked with her for his wedding, and she definitely lived up to the hype. She listened to my ideas and also shared useful feedback and ideas of her own that resulted in an absolutely stunning design for our wedding flowers. And all the while working within our budget. What I really appreciated about Candy is her creativity and ability to add an element of unexpected surprise and wow to everything she did whether it was the sparkly band on my mother-in-law's corsage, the pop of color in our dinner centerpieces or the extraordinary selection of unique flowers and succulents in my bouquet. Candy is top-notch and I would highly recommend working with her for your floral needs. She's a true talent, and such a sweet person.

Candy was an absolute pleasure to work with for my wedding in downtown Chicago from the beginning of wedding planning all the way up to the wedding day. Her flowers were beautiful and she was able to create exactly what I was envisioning with only a few pictures provided. She was able to work within my budget without a problem or push back and her work far exceeded our expectations. We received several compliments from our guests on how beautiful our flowers were. Prairie Basket is an incredible vendor to work with! During the planning stages, Candy was really easy to work with and took the time to answer all our questions. She even offered practical advice and made suggestions that helped us determine the right floral applications for our event. On the wedding day, Candy was on-time and professional with her deliveries. The personal flowers and arrangements were absolutely incredible, and seriously turned out better than we could have imagined! I had been seeing Candy Quinn's designs all over town and just knew she had to do our flowers for the wedding. We had a vintage wedding, in a historic mansion and I wore a vintage all lace dress and my groom wore a cutaway tux. The floral arrangements she created provided the "feel" we were trying to achieve perfectly. We requested 11 different arrangements - one for each table- all of the same flowers, but different arrangements in different vases and gave them away as gifts to special guests. My bouquet was everything I could have wanted. Very reasonably priced. The photos here really do not do the table arrangements justice. But the guest who received them all loved them!

Prairie Basket was a dream to work with! Candy is so very nice and knowledgeable and she did a fantastic job with the flowers for my daughter's wedding. I would use her again in a heart beat!! As a matter of fact I am using her for another daughter's wedding coming up in July. She is the best!!

Candy was spectacular. She took a little idea we had and ran with it to make the most gorgeous arrangements ever. She did all our bouquets, the arch, garland runners - truly stunning. Had a couple of statement pieces that she was added to for our outdoor ceremony on the island and then made a backyard tent wedding somehow simple but elegant! Even better, she was a blast to work with.

Candy created beautiful floral arrangements and bouquets for my daughter's wedding. She was so easy to work with. My daughter gave her the colors and Candy ran with it using contrasting textures giving us fabulous results. I would highly recommend Candy!

Unique, innovative, with heart of a servant and eye of an artist. Candy incorporated three generations of family crystal and silver containers to customize each table at our daughter's reception. Her eye for color and texture is surpassed only by her gentle wisdom regarding how to maximize in season flowers and greenery to stay within our budget. Some vendors are interested in their vision, Candy is entirely focused on bringing your vision to life. She was truly a god-send.

This review is long overdue! I got married on 7.26.16 with a ceremony at St. Alphonsus in Chicago and the reception at the Chicago Cultural Center. I met with multiple floral services and I am extremely happy that I chose Candy/Prairie Basket for my wedding. I was referred to Candy by a special patient I cared for in the hospital, and it was extremely sentimental to me to have Candy a part of my wedding. She was so easy to work with, and Candy is down to earth. She worked within my budget and provided such beautiful flowers. I loved everything she brought to my wedding day from the bouquets to the centerpieces. Candy's floral arrangements provided the feminine and romantic touch I was looking for. As a nurse, I understand the importance of customer service and advocating for the client... and Candy does just that.

Candy is absolutely amazing at what she does and words cannot express how pleased I am that I found her. I initially booked Candy for my wedding back in March and 2 months before my wedding, my sister and nephew unexpectedly passed away so we turned to Candy for the arrangements. Within 3 days she gave us the most stunning arrangements we could have ever imagined. She pulled through in such a short amount of time and we cannot thank her enough for that. Fast forward to my wedding day and she left me with my mouth open. My flowers at my ceremony and reception were exactly what I had envisioned, and her cost cannot be beat. Everything was so incredibly beautiful. She was so patient and flexible and an absolute pleasure to work with. Thank you Candy for everything, you are my florist for life!

Wedding 12.17.16. The Prairie Basket made my wedding!! Candy is so talented, and our bouquets and centerpieces were spectacular. I told her my vision and she brought it to life! I love everything about my wedding at Danada House; the entire day was perfect. That being said, the flowers were my absolute favorite part. We had a very low floral budget, and I left mostly all decisions up to Candy. I told her my colors and gave her a few photo inspirations, keeping in mind that my budget would most likely make my dream flowers not possible. I could not have been more wrong! Candy somehow managed to make all the flowers EXACTLY what I wanted. They were even more beautiful than I imagined they'd be, and they really took my wedding to the next level. Candy was a joy to work with. She always responded to my emails quickly and with humor. I highly suggest all brides choose Candy and Prairie Basket. You will not regret it!

We were recommended Prairie Basket florists through a family friend. We worked with the owner Candy throughout the process and were very happy with her services. Although her company's in the suburbs she provided flowers for our wedding in the city of Chicago. We met with her a couple times to discuss the themes of our wedding. I did not have specific floral vision in mind so left much up to her interpretation. The centerpieces she created were beautiful and I loved my bouquet. We thought her prices were very reasonable for what she provided

We were very pleased with the flowers, creativity, and service we received from Candy at Prairie Basket. The ceremony was outside at Citizens Park, Barrington , IL . Candy was creative and responsive to our tastes and needs with colorful and attractive bouquets. The reception at Makray Memorial Golf Club had tables adorned with beautiful flowers in a variety of ways that were natural, creative, vibrant, and exactly matched to our taste and style. All were fairly and reasonably priced.

We recently got married (in September) and had over 300 people at our weddings as well as a huge wedding party (12 on each side). Candy was truly amazing to work with! She took the ideas I had in mind for "my perfect fall wedding" flowers and centerpieces and made them come to life, better than I could have ever imagined. I recently got married at Makray Memorial Golf Club, and Candy (the owner) provided my flowers for both the ceremony and reception. I had a great experience working with her. When my mom and I met her at a coffee shop, we knew immediately that we wanted to book her! She was very creative and had great suggestions, especially the floating candles she used as part of my centerpieces. For the quality of her work, I thought her prices were really reasonable as well. So happy I booked her!

Candy was so wonderful to work with. After receiving a couple extremely high quotes from event design companies in downtown Chicago, my mom reminded me that Prairie Basket does beautiful arrangements and even did my bridal shower centerpieces (which were the most beautiful centerpieces I've seen at a bridal shower). So I decided to look for a separate company for lighting, etc and use Candy for floral. I'm so happy I did- her pricing is very reasonable, especially for the amount of time, attention and responsiveness she puts into the order. The bouquets were stunning - more beautiful than I had imagined and the centerpieces enhanced the venue (Chicago Botanic Garden). I had an idea for an escort card display and she accommodated my request. What I love most about Prairie Basket is the natural look of the arrangements. Candy uses flowers you don't see all of the time and gives the bouquets/centerpieces so much texture and depth with her artistic way of arranging them. I'm so happy I went with Prairie Basket and look forward to using Candy's services for another event someday!

Everyone thought the flowers were particularly stunning. We had this crazy idea to find all these vintage pewter pieces as vases on the tables so Candy had to basically do custom arrangements unique to each piece of pewter. And was totally game for it. Every arrangement was a work of art. She took a large cut glass punch bowl and created this beautiful centerpiece. Candy was so wonderful in every way possible. The best vendor we hired for the wedding. She would have been worth twice the price.

Prairie Basket Flowers did an absolutely wonderful job. Candy did a really good job of working within my budget to create bouquets that were beautiful and exactly what I wanted. She couldn't get all of the flowers I had in mind due to season/price, and so she ordered different ones (most of which I had never heard of) that ended up looking even better. She delivered my flowers to two spots on the wedding day (bouquet in one place and decorations in another), and was very easy to work with. She also made an absolutely beautiful flower arrangement for an archway that we got married under (which was kind of a last minute addition). She also made a beautiful flower crown for me! I would recommend Prairie Basket Flowers 10/10 times. She was great to work with and her arrangements were wonderful.

Candy is an absolute pleasure to work with and willing to do whatever she can to meet your needs on your big day! She was very flexible and willing to travel to deliver the flowers. She truly has an eye for bringing flowers and decor together. She is definitely the most talented florist I have met and it was evident of that on my wedding day when all anyone was talking about was the flowers. They brought everything together and the bouquets and centerpieces all tied together so well with all the decor. When I walked into the reception venue and saw how she had put everything together, my breath was taken away and it brought tears to my eyes because it was all so beautiful! Thank you Candy for making my day so amazing and working so hard with me to accommodate my budget! Prairie Basket won't let you down and it will be the best money spent!

We were on a very limited budget and I was a little uncomfortable about that, but Candy made me feel at ease & gave me some ideas along with sample pricing at our first meeting. She had some really wonderful/creative ideas as to how to re-use flowers for the church & reception and knowing I was cost conscious, always kept the cost on top of mind. Since I really didn't have a vision of what I wanted (other than "beautiful"), we discussed the colors & what flowers I would like & she took it from there. The day of my wedding, I opened the door & there was Candy with the most gorgeous and stunning bouquets I have ever seen! I could not believe my eyes & couldn't believe what she was able to create on such a limited budget. It was just amazing. The flowers for the church and reception were also very beautiful & many of the guests ended up taking the arrangements home to enjoy long after the party. I would recommend Candy without hesitation – you just can’t go wrong by choosing her to do your flowers.

Candy was AMAZING to work with for my wedding.
I am not very creative and basically just showed her some pictures and told her to do whatever as long as it stayed in the color scheme. She nailed it, the flowers were amazing and beautiful and I could not be happier
Not once did I doubt that I would have anything but elegant gorgeous flowers for my day. We didn't do a trial centerpiece or anything, I trusted her that much!

I met Candy through my photographer, Justine Neslund - Justpix Inc. It was definitely the best decision ever!! Candy met me for lunch and had a beautiful portfolio to show me. She knows what she is doing. I told her everything I wanted and the colors. The outcome was beyond anything I ever imagined. Everyone just gushed over our flowers!!! They were stunning! I wish I could've saved them that way forever! Please use Candy whenever you have floral needs...it'll be more than worth it. :)

Candy did a fantastic job with our bouquets and boutonnieres! After giving her a laundry list of flowers we liked, and a few that we requested not make an appearance, she came up with beautiful arrangements that included everything we requested, and things we hadn't even thought of that completely achieved the vision I had in my head. I would definitely recommend Candy and Prairie Basket to anyone who has a vision in their head and isn't quite sure how to make it happen, Candy knows how to make it happen!

Gorgeous, breath taking, stunning! Three words I used when I saw my flowers on the day of my wedding. From the first time I met Candy to the week before the big day she was always professional, helpful and creative, She made me feel at ease throughout the entire process. I came in with pictures and ideas and she helped form them into exactly what I had hoped for. As my ideas changes and numbers changed she constantly said no problem. She created unique boutonniere for the men , 3 types of flowers for the moms/grandmas/readers and younger helpers. Candy took the time to add specials charms to all of the girls flowers as I wanted them to have a special memento from that day. She put together beautiful bouquets to hang on the canopy for he ceremony and set out silver sap buckets with bunches of babies breath down the aisle. The bridesmaids bouquets were stunning! They were everything I could have hoped for and more! Mine stood out but was still similar, it was larger and had more white. The flowers were romantic and fit the mood perfectly. Candy also placed flowers on the our cake and worked to incorporate our family heirloom birds on the cake too. Candy did an amazing job and I will go to her for every occasion I have in the future.

Prairie Basket Florist did the flowers (bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres) for our wedding and they were fantastic. Candy really took the time to understand the color palette we were looking for, and worked to stay within our budget. I would highly recommend working with Prairie Basket for your wedding or event. Candy was always very responsive and wanted to make sure we were completely happy with our flowers, which we were. Thank you for adding to our day!

Just had a wonderful wedding - 2 venues in Chicago, and Prairie Baskets made our dreams come true! I recommend this florist for high quality and beautiful flowers, creativity in design, fair pricing, and Prairie Baskets is a vendor you can trust. Candy worked with our budget and gave us the "wow factor" we were looking for. Where to start?! I could not have been more thrilled with the floral arrangements. Candy is truly an artist, so easy to work with, and just did an absolutely amazing job. I gave her my color pallet, some types of flowers I liked and she took it from there. The flowers were so gorgeous, even my photographer asked who did them. I can't wait to share pictures!

I used Candy as the florist for my wedding and she did a wonderful job! All of our centerpieces were unique and different like we requested and she even used all of the mason jar and mercury glass vases we provided her! Our bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres were also gorgeous and unique! Candy was very easy to meet with, as we did several times leading up to the wedding, and easy to get ahold of via phone or email. She did an excellent job completing our vision and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone in need of a florist!

The flowers for my daughter's wedding were absolutely gorgeous! Candy created beautiful, unique bouquets and centerpieces that were true to the style of the wedding and everything we envisioned!!

It was an absolute pleasure working with Candy on the flowers for our wedding. The flowers were beautiful, unique and stunning! Candy’s creativity and expertise awards her the ability to provide exactly what you are looking for, as well as, far exceed your expectations. For example, I had a pretty clear picture of how I envisioned my bouquet, and it turned out exactly the way I had explained, but better! Additionally, we had a more general idea and vision for the ceremony, reception and bridal party flowers. Candy captured modern elegance without question- the colors, textures and arrangements enhanced the overall ambiance at the Chicago History Museum and created even more special details!

Candy is truly an artist. She will come up with floral arrangements that are far more beautiful and creative than anything you could imagine on your own. She uses flowers and other fillers that I have never heard of, and the result is always a masterpiece. Not only is Candy my first choice for all of my floral needs, but I can recommend her on another level. I am a wedding photographer, and I have seen her work at numerous weddings in the Chicago area. I am ALWAYS impressed.

Candy also has a heart of gold. She is so sweet and pleasant to work with. I couldn't recommend her enough.

Wow, were we lucky to find Prairie Basket! Our daughter was getting married on a farm, so I asked members of the local garden club for recommendations. Unanimous answer: Candy Quinn of Prairie Basket. Candy is so nice, professional and knowledgeable. She offered thoughtful suggestions but didn't hijack the project. Candy put the bride first, knowing that it was the bride's day.

Results were awesome. Gorgeous flowers arranged in wine boxes and glass bottles gave the tent a country (but not bumpkin) feel. Bride's bouquet was exactly what my daughter wanted and bridesmaids' bouquets complimented the dresses perfectly.

So many guests asked who did our flowers. Was happy to recommend Prairie Basket as I do to you!

The flowers that Candy and her team provided were outstanding. The listened to the descriptions of what we were looking for and then matched our layman's terms with the most gorgeous flowers and really creative arrangements. My bouquet was better than I could have imagined and my husband's boutonniere was a great match for his personality and the style of the wedding. I can't recommend them highly enough and I hope to use them many more times in the future.

Candy just did our daughter's wedding. Everyone is still talking about how beautiful and unique the flowers were, especially my daughter's bouquet, which was made of white roses, calla lilies, lady's slippers, berries, and a few other unfamiliar flowers. It was breathtaking! And the bridesmaids' bouquets, centerpieces, corsages, etc.--I could go on and on. We had a very traditional wedding, yet Candy was able to create untraditional arrangements that were tasteful, colorful but not gaudy, and exactly what we wanted. She was always available for questions and encorporated everything we requested. We couldn't have been happier.

I was referred to Prairie Baskets by my photograher for my wedding this past March. I met with Candy to go over the details I wanted for the flower arrangements for my wedding. After meeting with Candy, I immediatley felt comfortable and confident and knew that I needed to look no further. Candy ensured she knew what I wanted and promised to deliver beautiful arrangements on my wedding day. She provided me a detailed list to ensure we had everything covered. Candy made things less stressful for me. On my wedding day, the flowers that were delivered were even better than I expected. The bouquets were beyond amazing! I wanted bright, bold colorful flowers and she did just that! The flowers made each and every picture pop. We were 110% pleased with the service we received. I highly recommend Prairie Baskets. Not only did she deliver great flowers, she is a wondeful, caring person that will not let you be unhappy. The prices were awesome too! I had a budget and she stuck to it unlike other vendors that tried to get me to exceed it. Thank you Prairie Baskets for being party of our wedding day. The flowers that we will have in our pictures will last a lifetime.

My flowers from Prairie Basket Florist were everything I could have ever dreamed of for my wedding day. They were exactly what I wanted. I had a tropical theme and the flowers really made the day- there were even birds of paradise and pineapples to help set the theme.

My husband and I got married at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago, IL in July 2014 (I know.. very late with the review! yikes). We chose Prairie Basket Floral Design because I wanted a florist who used unique flowers to make our arrangements stand out. I was definitely not disappointed!! Candy was phenomenal to work with. I did not have much knowledge about flowers and wanted someone who I could trust to take my vision of the wedding and translate it with beautiful flowers.

At our consultation, I only had to give her general ideas- colors and styles that I liked and the "feel" we were going for, and she totally took control and the outcome was absolutely gorgeous. I loved that I did not have to tell her exactly what I was looking for and make tons of decisions about specific flowers. That being said, if you are a bride who knows exactly what she wants in terms of flowers, I know that Candy would be more than accommodating. She is very easy-going and available so even if you want to be more hands-on than I was with the designs, she will be a great fit!

In terms of the day-of, things could not have been smoother from my point of view! Candy confirmed that everything was ready to go a couple days before and then I didn't hear a peep from anyone that day about the flowers except for when Candy told me the flowers were all set up and to enjoy my night! Could not have asked for anything better than that!! I was nervous about this because our venue had a very tight and strict time limit for set-up but there was no need to worry at all!

Even 7.5 months after our wedding, I look at our pictures and my eyes go straight to the flowers. One of my aunts just told me LAST WEEK that she thought our flowers were the most beautiful she had ever seen. Clearly, they made an impression!!! I will definitely recommend Prairie Basket to my next friend who gets married in the Chicago area and any other bride who is looking for unique flowers with worry-free service!

Very unique incredible flowers - unlike any others!

The flowers Candy did for my wedding were like none I'd ever seen. I let her take her artistic talents and thoughts and go with them and I couldn't have been happier! Lots of compliments from people on the bouquets and the center arrangements. Truly made everything come together as my tables were more simple in nature.

Prairie Basket was very personable and collaborative. Candy did a great job bringing my vision to life without a ton of hands on support from me. We talked through things in detail with a few pictures and the centerpieces were everything I wanted and more. They were also were able to last minute deliver flowers to all of the moms on the wedding day as grooms gifts which made my now husband look like a hero.

Candy at Prairie Basket created beautiful flowers for our August wedding! She is very creative and talented at what she does. We weren't really sure of what we wanted at first but Candy was able to work with us, take ideas that we did have, and mix those with her own unique designs. The final products were beautiful centerpieces, bouquets, and bouts which enhanced the theme and color scheme of our wedding.
