I was finally able to have my wedding after some Covid restrictions were lifted. I am so happy we chose Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel! I worked with Gina throughout my whole process and she was hands down an amazing person to deal with! I always felt welcomed! She answered every and all questions we had! The staff at PGH were so friendly and professional. They made my guest extremely happy and we are so thankful for everything! I had a vision of what I wanted and they delivered! Everything was beautiful and I wish I could relive it all! Thank you so much!!

Loved my wedding here!
My husband was very set on having the wedding here as he used to work at the Grand Hotel. I forced him to look at other venues, but in the end we decided upon the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel. We met with Gina, who was with us through the whole wedding planning process and I couldn't be happier that she was there for us! Gina helped to make the stress of planning a wedding less stressful!
Our ceremony was here as well and everything went off without a hitch! The ballroom was gorgeous and everything was set up the way I would have set it up myself. TO be honest I did not have high expectations for the food.....I had many of my guests comment on how good the food was at the wedding and I must agree it was wonderful! The Grand gave my husband and I the wedding we had envisioned and we truly could not be happier.
I cannot thank Gina, Maureen, Laura, Michelle, and the staff at the Grand Hotel for everything they did for my husband and I. Thank you!

Great people and a great price
It is really difficult to beat the prices (and extras) that the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel offers. My husband and I loved having our wedding there. The people are great, the food is delicious, and plenty of space and options for all wedding sizes. The rooftop wedding ceremony was amazing and was one of the best added bonuses of choosing this venue (among many other things).

Best Night of my Life
After I got engaged, I looked around at different venues online and nothing compared to the Poughkeepsie grand. I worked with Gina from day 1 and she made sure everything was perfect!! What they include in their packages is beyond what most others include. Plus after the party, everyone can take an elevator ride right up to their rooms. It was nice to have that piece of mind knowing all those people weren’t driving home! I had the absolute best night of my life and if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing. They were simply amazing.

Fantastic Reception
Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel, aside from all the great perks and benefits of doing our wedding with them, was very easy to work with, extremely accommodating, communicative, and helpful. The food was both bountiful and delicious, and the staff were extremely responsive and attentive to not just us, but our guests as well. Location was easy for most people to get to and super nice having the hotel attached so at the end of our night we could roll right into bed. Particularly trying to plan a wedding remotely, the number of things included and tasks/decisions that PGH helped make, made doing our wedding a significantly less stressful and much more fun experience!

They take care of you and help make your day perfect with every little detail. The day was amazing and I did not have to worry about a thing. What you get for the price is beyond reasonable. I would recommend this place to everyone! Michelle and the entire staff are incredible.

Great experience! Working with Michelle made our entire wedding process so easy. The staff was attentive and welcomed any special request my family and I made. Very convenient having the venue attached to the hotel and it also helps to prevent drinking/driving. All guest were happy to take a 30 second elevator ride to their room at the end of the night!

Excellent service, excellent wedding!
I cannot say enough about the EXCELLENT service we received for our wedding last week! Michelle, our wedding coordinator, went above and beyond this past 10 months while we planned our big day with her! Every email or call I placed to her was answered immediately and she was always happy to assist with any questions I had, no matter how big or small the issue was! On our wedding day, Michelle was there and made sure everything started out the way I wanted it. After her, maitre'd Emily and our head table server Freddy, took over the show and not only guided us through everything, but made sure we always had food and drinks at our table! We also were allowed to view our party room before all of our guests did. They decorated everything EXACTLY how I wanted it! I didn't have to change a thing. Everyone at the Grand had professional attitudes and everything was SO organized. The food was EXCELLENT, nothing we ordered on our menu was a disappointment! We had 180 guests and the pricing was VERY reasonable compared to other local venues. At the end of the night, Emily and Freddy packaged all of our belongings (and extra food from dinner and cocktail hour!) and brought it up to our honeymoon suite to us. We had enough leftovers for 4 days after the wedding. Our guests raved about everything and they are still talking about our day. Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel, thank you SO much for taking such great care of us on our wedding day!!! If you are looking for EXCELLENT service and to be treated right, this is the place to go!!!

Beautiful Wedding ceremony and Reception
We were married at The Poughkeepsie Grand recently. The Poughkeepsie Grand offers a great deal that includes a block of rooms for your overnight guests. Our Wedding Coordinator was extremely helpful and was always available for any questions that I may have had. We held our ceremony there which was followed by the reception. The ceremony was held outside which they did a very nice job of and the reception was held afterward. The food was very good at the reception. All of my guests enjoyed the service and the food . The wait staff and bartenders were extremely attentive to the Bride and Groom as well as our guests. If you are looking for a beautiful setting at an affordable price to hold your wedding, I would highly recommend the Poughkeepsie Grand

The best bang for your buck. Incredible.
If you’re on the search for a venue in this area, we highly recommend taking a look at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel. We had been to several venues and never had that “this is the place” moment until we visited the Grand hotel.
We may be a little biased because it was our wedding, but this was the best wedding we have ever been to! We had plenty of guests making similar remarks though which has made our claim feel validated. Many guests specifically complimented the speed of service, the ballroom and decorations, as well as the food and quality of service.
We booked the Regency Package, which gives you the larger ballroom (you need at least 100 guests but we were able to book it a few short of 100.)
For the price you’re paying, you get an incredible ballroom and also the catering is included. We still can’t figure out why the cost is lower than other venues in the area that don’t offer catering. Perhaps it’s due to the fact that they’re able to host so many weddings on the same night?
The amount you get for the price is amazing.
- The food is incredible
- The maître’ de and the head server make sure everything is going smoothly. You will always have a drink, a taste of any food you’d like, and will not have to keep track of the events and timing since they do it for you.
- The ballroom itself was beautiful. The option to choose any color uplighting for no additional cost was a huge plus.
- The process of preparing for the wedding was made simple. We worked with Gina, who was always available to answer our questions and gave us a detailed timeline of everything we would need to do far in advance so we were never feeling stressed.
If you’re searching for a venue, we highly recommend setting up a meeting with the Poughkeepsie Grand to see if it’s a match for you.

My wedding isn’t until 2020. However, They were very responsive and very informative when we went to look at the venue. The price and package we wanted was just perfect and they have been extremely helpful in answering my million questions along the way as well as a quick response time!

Kisha is the best group sales manager!!!!
We just had our wedding this past Saturday at the Grandview and had a ton of family traveling from out of town. The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel was a great fit for our guests and Kisha made the entire process so easy and FUN! From initial contact to the day of she answered every question (no matter how repetitive or crazy) and addressed all our needs with top notch professionalism and courtesy. She was an absolute pleasure to work and plan with and has such a wonderfully warm and inviting personality. She made us feel like she was a member of the family and as concerned if not more concerned with how everything would come together. She gave us a full tour of the hotel and shared everything with us as if she were inviting her into her own home. She taught me how to follow our room block and kept us up to date on bookings the whole way. I also give her high praise for handling a very difficult (and quite frankly embarrassing) “situation” extraordinarily well that came up with the matron of honor!
During all the wedding planning I knew I just needed people to help me keep my peace of mind and relieve some stress and Kisha definitely did that for me. I highly recommend her and The Poughkeepsie Grand for your next event :-)

Excellent venue!
I am so glad I chose the PK Grand Hotel for my wedding. It was perfect, the staff was great, and it was the less stressful part of my planning. The ceremony was beautiful, and the ballroom was everything I had imagined. Every detail I discussed with Michelle, she made sure it was executed beautifully. The food was wonderful, every single guest was raving about the food. There were no complaints at all from anyone, and everyone kept raving about the place, how convenient everything is - it is all in one place! Michelle was so attentive to my ring bearer, who is special needs, and anything he needed or we needed to change, she made sure she handled it. The maitr'd, Emily, was wonderful, as well as, our head server. My husband didn't know what to order, and they let him have the salmon (which was wonderful) and steak! So nice, and helpful as well, and packed up any food for us and brought everything to our suite. I didn't have one stress at my wedding, or during the planning process. I am so happy the way my wedding turned out, my guests really thought they were at some high-end fancy place, when it was the most affordable venue that really included so much! They really paid attention to every detail and listened to what we wanted and I couldn't be any happier how everything turned out.

I checked the reviews online before setting an appointment. All the reviews raved about how much they loved the venue, how the food was delicious and how affordable the venue was. To be honest, when I read the reviews I thought to myself that this venue was too good to be true. I reached out to set up an appointment and Michelle responded right away. We communicated constantly via email before scheduling our visit and Michelle was so wonderful! She responded in a timely matter and answered all the questions I had. When we finally went to visit the venue we LOVED it. My fiancé and I really wanted to stay within a reasonable budget and this place provides so many amenities within a reasonable price. I so recommend checking this venue to couples that still haven't found a venue.

My husband and I held our wedding reception at The Grandview and was recommended to The Grand Hotel for our guest accommodations. That is where we fell in love with Kisha, the Group Sales Manager. In our opinion, she’s makes The Grand Hotel what it is! She was sweet, accommodating, helpful and always in a fantastic mood! She showed us all of our room options, was constantly assisting me with my forever growing room block and even offered us complimentary shuttle rides for our guests for our rehearsal dinner at Cosimos. We couldn’t have had a better experience and would absolutely recommend The Grand Hotel to anyone visiting the Poughkeepsie area!

The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel provided a wonderful experience for our guests and us during our wedding weekend. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The staff was accommodating and pleasant to work with. The Club Room on the top floor is a beautiful venue for bridal parties to get ready prior to the wedding. It was spacious and very comfortable for the bridesmaids, moms, and stylists. The meals we ordered and had delivered to the Club Room on the morning of the wedding were delicious. Since our wedding was at the Grandview, it was an incredibly convenient location for our out-of-town guests. Transportation could not have been easier, and our guests raved about the trolley that took them to and from the Grandview. There was even transportation made available to our rehearsal dinner on the night before our wedding. Overall, our experience at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel was fantastic, and we would recommend this hotel to anyone getting married in the Poughkeepsie area!

I don't know why anyone would have there wedding anywhere else!!! From start to finish everything went so smoothly and PERFECTLY it was as if it were too good to be true.... but nope it was true! We worked With Michelle and she was incredible! I can honestly say that as a bride planning a wedding I did not stress over anything regarding my venue because Michelle was on everything before my questions even came up. If we had a need or a want.... Michelle made it happen! Then we got to the night of our reception and it was SEAMLESS! I couldn't have dreamt the ballroom to be more perfect. She knew what I wanted better than I did. And our Maitre D's were outstanding! Dana and Jonathan were on point until they walked us to our room and handed us our room keys. The food..... our wedding was nearly a month ago and our guests are still talking about how delicious EVERYTHING was. In the future if we need to plan a big even we won't even look anywhere else. We're just going to call Michelle!

Working with the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel was the best choice we made for our wedding!! They run like a well-oiled machine and made the planning process so stress-free, and yet still made me feel like my wedding was unique and their only priority! My fiance and I kept saying to each other, "is this too good to be true?!!!" The service, the quality, the extra attention paid to every detail-- all phenomenal! Exceptional experience! Everyone we encountered from this venue was friendly, kind and professional. Our representative, Gina was a great help every step of the way and made sure every detail was perfect. Anthony, our Maitre d ensured that everything ran smoothly. Our server, Jamie was just amazing, my husband was never without a drink in his hand. Thevroom was beautiful and the food was phenomenal. There was so many hors d'oeuvre that we were full by the time we got to the main course, but of course, they made sure to bring our left overs, and then some to our room afterwards. When searching for a wedding venue we looked at a bunch of different places. The Poughkeepsie Grand had the most to offer for our wedding. Not only did we get complimentary rooms for booking with them, our centerpieces and wedding cake were also included. Our wedding coordinator Michelle went above and beyond to make sure our day was going to be everything we've dreamed of. The night of our wedding, our maître d Chris and server Sara were absolutely amazing. Always asking if we were okay or needed anything. The service they provided to us was top notch, and our guests agreed with us. We wouldn't of changed anything about our wedding venue. If you're looking to book with this venue just keep in mind that its convenient for you and your guests with the hotel being right upstairs. We would 100% recommend The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel to anyone that was in search of a beautiful, elegant venue.

absolutely perfect! from day one it was so easy to work with Gina. We live a couple hours away so email was our best friend, and Gina responded so quickly! Every person we encountered at the PK Grand whether in person or over the phone was always so helpful, positive and kind! The packages they offer include so much, that it truly is a one stop shop. from the abundant cocktail hour, to dinner choices, cake, center pieces, line and even hotel rooms, you want for nothing! We heard nothing but compliments from our guests all night and for weeks after! The food was amazing, the service was outstanding! My groom, myself, family and wedding party never had to go to the bar, as Anthony was always right there with a drink! He anticipated all our needs all night, as nothing was missed! the end of the night, Ryan and Anthony even brought all our stuff up to our room with some food wrapped up for a late night snack! The entire staff of the PK Grand truly helped make our wedding day perfect and we cannot thank them enough!

From day 1 i was excited to have my wedding at the Poughkeepsie Grand. Michelle was great to work with and she was so accommodating to any request I made and responded to every question or concern I had in a timely manner. On the day of my wedding they decorated the ceremony space, the cocktail hour space and the reception area perfectly to what I had envisioned! My wedding day ran so smoothly thanks to the great staff at the Grand! Who could forget to mention the food???? OMG there was so much and every thing I ate was delicious, and every guest I asked said the food was marvelous! Would I recommend this place to a friend YES I would.... The package we chose was perfect for our budget and included so many extras that you would have to pay extra for at other locations! Great place oh and if you do stay the night the room is grand, and breakfast the next morning was abundant and very tasty! 5 star service!!!!

We had an amazing reception and overall great experience at the Poughkeepsie Grand. The staff was flexible and met all our requests, went above and beyond to make sure our guest and ourselves were taken care of throughout our stay, and their level of professionalism shown through at every stage. The food was amazing, the ballroom was perfect, and the coordination of everything went smoothly. We were able to look back at the day and realize that we had everything we wanted and would not have changed anything. We highly recommend them for your wedding.

I cannot rave enough about how perfect this venue was!!!! The staff were SO nice and precessional! I felt like a queen from start to finish. After my first time there, everyone remembered my name and face and were so so nice when I would come in for different consultations. The day went off without a hitch! Absolutely stunning. I was shocked at how comprehensive the economy package was, and blown away on the day of my wedding. It was 1000x better than I could have dreamed, and affordable!!!!!

Everything about the Poughkeepsie Grand is amazing. They were so accommodating and kind. We had an issue because I lost my job while we were still making payments and they were very flexible with that. Everyone that we dealt with was pleasant from the day we put down the deposit to the night of the wedding. Gina, Maureen, Kisha and Mitchell are just a few of the great people there.

Over the two years of planning our contact Tara learned and walked us through exactly what we where looking for from start to finish. My Husband and I decided to have our reception at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel based off of our first meeting with Gina. She was so easy to deal with and never made me feel like I was a bother to her. Since the day we got married I am still getting compliments on how wonderful our wedding was and how good everything was. I can't say enough good things about this place. All the staff that we dealt with was awesome.

We got married on November 22, 2013 at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel and we both highly recommend having your wedding reception there. We also got married on the premises and it was gorgeous and perfect. After having several family members who got married at the Grand, we knew it was the perfect place. Not only is the food great, but everything is beautiful and so convenient. It was great that our guests could simply go upstairs after the party! Tara was our coordinator and she was great to work with! Everything went off without a hitch and we have the Poughkeepsie Grand staff to thank!

Words cannot express how pleased we were with this venue! The staff went above and beyond for EVERYONE! My planner Tara was amazing and calmed me down when necessary! We got married at the Grand and the staff took care of absolutely everything. Our event coordinator was Michelle and she was great. She responded to all of my e-mails within a day of sending them and really helped us to personalize our day. I love that they had us bring everything from the cake topper to the programs in a week before the wedding. It felt like a weight had been lifted!
The day of we felt like royalty. The bridal suite was spacious and perfect for our needs. We had both our ceremony and reception there and they were able to transform the hall between the two both efficiently and beautifully. We were attended to all night and at the end we were escorted to our room with food and cake (as we had barely been able to eat, it was much appreciated). The brunch the next day was delicious and a nice way to say good-bye to our guests.
Considering the price per person included the cocktail hour, meal, and open bar, you really can't find a better deal around.

This was a wonderful place to have my reception! I could not have asked for a better venue, everything was perfect and so nice, the staff kept checking to make sure everything was to my liking, working with Michelle was great, She always answered all my phone calls and e-mails, and made sure I was happy, the trolley service was fantastic after the wedding to go to the local bars, the food was 5 stars all the way, drinks were fantastic all my guests enjoyed everything, This is the perfect place to have a reception!

We had our reception at the Grand Hotel and it was great. I am going to break it down into sections:
Hotel and Planning:
I planned our wedding from 600 miles away and Tara, our coordinator, was super friendly and always got back to me any time I had any questions or concerns. She made sure that everything was taken care of in advance so that I didn't have to do anything except show up. The rooms at the hotel were reasonably priced for our guests and the hotel was extremely accomodating with any concerns or questions we had. The hotel has a large variety of packages and price ranges to accommodate all brides and budgets. Our package included our cake, flowers, and suite and everything was perfect and easily arranged. My husband and I had a perfect evening and really truly enjoyed ourselves.
Service: Our maitre'ds, Mitchell and Andrew, were outstanding. They were there with us and our families the whole night to make sure everything was perfect. The staff was also very professional and helpful for our guests. The bar tenders were very nice and friendly and did a great job with the drinks. Everyone was there working together and knew exactly what they were doing and everyone was on the same page. Everyone was very professional the entire night.
Food: Everything was perfect. The food was great and there was soooo much of it. We got the Diamond package and everyone loved the cocktail and Viennese hours that we got. We had guests of all ages and everyone was satisfied. We also had a few people with food allergies and they had no problem accommodating us at all. Everything was delicious.
In conclusion, we literally had people calling us the next day telling us what a great experience it was and how great everything was and several people said it was the best wedding they'd ever been too and my husband and I agree.

We had our ceremony & reception at the Poughkeepsie Grand and were more than pleased. Since the majority of our guests were coming in from out of town, we loved that everyone could enjoy themselves, then go upstairs to their own rooms.
Neither my husband or myself are from Poughkeepsie, but we were so impressed with the hotel and staff that we decided to go for it. We worked with Gina throughout the entire process, and she was a pleasure to speak with and be around. Very helpful and very attentive to our needs and questions.
The day of, we worked with Maitre D - Andrew, and head waiter - Sara. They were both FANTASTIC. So much fun and SO on top of everything. It was wonderful.
Our guests were so impressed with the setting, decorations, food, service - this will definitely be something they will be talking about for years to come. It was by far the best day of our lives! Worth every penny :) Hope we come back to the hotel for one of our anniversaries :)

We thought that we wanted and outdoor wedding, until we realized the amount of time we would need to plan it. Being we both work full time, and I am also a full time student, time was not on our side. After looking at a couple of venues in the area we thought for sure we were just going to elope because nothing fit our needs, style, or budget. Until we met with Gina (the most amazing wedding coordinator EVER!) at the Grand. As soon as we walked in, we knew the art deco style was right up our alley. I must say that from the moment we walked in the door for our first tour, until the moment we checked out of the hotel after our wedding, we were given the red carpet treatment. I decided to stay the night before, since I was having an 11:30am ceremony and the morning of my wedding was great. Estaban took such good care of me in the bridal suite. He was so cheerful, helpful, and genuine...even at 5am! Our Maitre'D, Jordan and our head waitress, Brianna, were also amazing. We did not want for anything the entire day. And, as mentioned, Gina was the most patient, wonderful person to work with. She promptly answered my emails, took extra time to reschedule an appointment that I couldn't attend because I was stuck in traffic. I cannot speak highly enough about the service we received. We have recommended the Grand to several couples in the past two months. The service is topnotch, the facility is beautiful, and the value is unbeatable.

Overall, we had an excellent experience having The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel as our Wedding Reception venue. My husband and I have been to a few weddings here before and have had several positive recommendations for The Grand, so we were not worried at all having them do our reception. Michelle was our wedding coordinator and she was very professional, friendly, responsive and helpful in all of the planning aspects leading up to the wedding day. Michelle made sure that everything ran smoothly and that the reception was beautiful. She was always detail oriented and easy to reach. Andrew our matre d was very friendly, well-organized and knowledgeable. He also made our reception run smoothly and provided excellent service to our bridal party, family and guests. It was very convenient having our reception here because we did not have to worry about our guests drinking and driving because the reception is in the hotel. Having our reception there was also a perk for those who had to travel because all they had to do was go right upstairs to their room and crash...then join us in the morning for breakfast ;-) (The Grand provides a delicious complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning for all overnight guests) So that was also a plus, that we got to have a complimentary breakfast with family and friends the next morning. In the package we chose, The Grand also provided a few complimentary rooms, including a suite for the Bride & Groom. There are many packages to choose from for all budget types and their rates are probably the best in the area! (if not one of the best!) And the food is excellent. Even though we have been to a few weddings here, we still made sure to do a food tasting first to make sure that we still loved the food. And we did. They stuffed us and our guests and no one went home hungry. The Grand also made sure to box up some leftovers for us and offered guests seconds...Can't go wrong here! The Poughkeepsie Grand is a great venue choice!!!

My husband and I would like to personally thank Maureen Kangas general manager of the Poughkeepsie grand hotel for connecting us with her banquette manager Michelle Neesen. As many people would agree planning a wedding can be stressful enough, but as we are local, the bride and wedding party were not. Coming from Ohio this could have made planning even more of a challenge. As I have attended many events at the grand we encouraged her to have her very special day there. With that being said special it was, from the helpful planning to the wonderful service and convient accommodations this was truly the wright decision. Special thanks to the Stephon and Brianne as they treated all all of us like royalty for a day!

I could not have asked for a more perfect venue. The planning was effortless, my coordinator (Gina) stayed in contact with me the whole time and responded to all my inquiries very quickly. The place is absolutely gorgeous (once inside; outside is a little less than desirable), once you walk in the door it feels like you are somewhere other than Poughkeepsie. The morning of my wedding went smoothly. Everything was taken care of for me, all i had to do was ready myself and my girls. The Grand took care of EVERYTHING. Our Maitre' D Stefan (sp?) was marvelous. He was always there with whatever i needed without me even asking. I literally felt like we were waited on hand and foot the whole day. I think i got spoiled actually. Also, the food was amazing and plentiful!! This venue was definitely worth the money and peace of mind.

Michelle was amazing to work with. The months leading up to the wedding she answered all my questions, emails and phone calls. Countless numbers of people have complimented us on the food, atmosphere, accommodations, and professional staff. Tara, our wedding coordinator, is fantastic. She helped us in so many ways. She even doubled as our wedding therapist!!!!

Our daughter and son in law's wedding was at The Poughkeepsie Grand two weeks ago. We cannot say enough about the staff at the Grand. We dealt with Tara from the moment we booked the place. Tara was wonderful about accommodating a nervous bride and groom and their parents. She always answered emails and calls immediately, listened carefully and gave wonderful suggestions. We found it easier to pay by the month, so each month my husband would drop off a check and she promptly sent us a receipt. Even near the wedding where things can get a little crazy with guest count, etc... she always kept us all calm and laughing.
When the day finally arrived, everything was set up beautifully, the food was delicious and the staff was warm and accommodating. The bridal party enjoyed their own cocktail suite which was theirs for the entire night for keeping bags, changing shoes, etc... The Grand also gives the couple five complimentary rooms and a beautiful bridal suite for themselves. We were so happy that we chose The Grand also, because after the reception, many of the out of town guests met at the bar area for more fun and conversation, and then met in the ballroom for a great breakfast which is included with the rooms. The prices at the Grand were also much better than competing catering halls. Our guests just gushed at what a good time they had, and we could not have asked for a more perfect reception!!! (Our ceremony was at a church, but I'm sure the ceremonies at The Grand are just beautiful!)

My husband and I met here, at a party. So it was the only place we thought of to get married at! The Poughkeepsie Grand was fabulous. The staff was awesome! For the price, we received, top shelf open bar the whole time, a bridal suite that I used to get ready in, and it was mine the whole entire time I was there. We received a bridal suite and 5 complimentary hotel rooms for our guests. The food was outstanding! Our maitre'd was Rob - who hung up my husbands tux when we went up to my room! It was just the best time ever!!!!!!!! Also, in the morning we received a complimentary breakfast - which had everything you could think of. I had so many people tell me to just skip a wedding, and take off to an island. That I would regret all the money spent, and it is just for one day. Blah, blah, blah! I LOVED every moment and would not have changed one thing about it! Everything was awesome!

We had our wedding at the Grandview in Poughkeepsie and used the Poughkeepsie Grand for guest accomodations and the honeymoon suite. They also provided a shuttle to and from the Grandview for our guests to use to get between the locations. The services were wonderful. Check-in was a breeze and the staff was incredibly polite. The honeymoon suite was absolutely epic! I just wish we could have spent more time there (we left for the honeymoon at 4am, so didn't get to take advantage of the cute little dinette by the window looking over the river and the bridge, so cute!) The bathroom was very impressive in the suite as well, one of those things you'd have to see to appreciate.. it was very fancy!
No complaints whatsoever. Thanks to the staff at the Grand!!

Michelle Nissen is the best coordinator at the Grand. We book our wedding a year and a half in advance and Michelle was there every step of the way. She was quick to respond to my emails and questions and was always available to help. She planned everything perfectly for us. The ceremony room and our reception area was decorated just how we imagined it. I loved that a week before the wedding Michelle planned it that I bring everything to her, from our place cards, decorations and favors, etc, that way I do not have to worry about anything, and it was the best idea. They were accommodating to our guests who have food allergies. The food was incredible!! Our guests loved the buffet. The Grand had so many choices to choose from for our buffet. Our maitre d, Jake was amazing as well. He made sure that at all times my husband and I, as well as our parents were happy, had a full drink and a smile on their face. Thew bridal suite was beautiful, breakfast in the morning was good and was a great way to spend time with family and friends the next day. The hotel staff were accommodating as well. My bridesmaids and I stayed the night before the wedding and they made sure that the girls rooms for the next night were near rooms we had so they wouldn't have to go far with their stuff. We could of not picked a better place for our wedding. The price was great for the package we got, and was worth every penny!! I HIGHLY recommend The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel to anyone for the wedding!

We had our reception at the Poughkeepsie Grand two weeks ago and our guests are still raving about it!! Where do I even begin?! The whole planning process was extremely easy. When I compare my process with other friends who have gotten married, mine seemed to be less stressful than theirs. The sales managers you work with throughout the process are extremely helpful, knowledgeable and experienced. They are quick to respond to any questions you have. On the night of our reception they showed us the ballroom before the guests saw it and I was absolutely amazed. It looked even more beautiful than I had imagined it would be. They set up everything the way we wanted it to be set up and made it look even better than the way I had showed them. The staff was so attentive to not only us, but to all of our guests. Our guests keep telling us that they were the best staff they had ever met at a wedding. The staff had smiles on their faces all night and took such wonderful care of me and my husband and all of our guests. The food was incredible. Our guests were gushing to us about how great the food was from the cocktail hour through the dinner. It was great that we had our guests staying there as well because when they are ready to leave they went right up to their room and we didn't have to worry about anyone driving. Even the front desk staff were amazing! They were super energetic and accommodating to us and our guests. I would, without a doubt, recommend this venue to anyone and everyone. My husband and I got married here on 8.26.11 and the ceremony was set up really beautiful. Michelle was the best coordinator. The cocktail hour was great. Once your hand has no drink, they bring you another right away. Drinks are amazing, as is the crab rangoon omg! So many chicken choices to choose from as your chicken choice. Everything was delicious. Staff is so friendly. The free trolley takes you to shadows and the last pick up time is 1:30am. Very convenient. Our friends and family said it was the best wedding hands down.

From the moment we booked with Rachel at the Grand Hotel we were astonished by the wonderful service and attentiveness we received. Rachel was amazing. She answered every inquiry of ours in a very timely manner and accommodated all of our requests. Her skill and expertise in planning a wedding reception were extraordinarily helpful in our planning process. On our wedding day, the service, food and decor were beyond anything we had ever imagined. I can honestly say that every single aspect of our wedding reception was beyond exceptional. Our maitre'd, Jacob, was always within arms reach and so gracious, as was our head server. The staff, coordinator, food and bartenders were all incredibly amazing. My husband and I are hoping that we get invited to a wedding held at the Grand Hotel so that we can re-live such a wonderful night. Many, many thanks to everyone at the Grand Hotel. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!

I could not be happier with The Grand. Michelle did an awesome job. Everything was exactly as I imagined. And better than I would have asked them to set up. From the minute I checked in, to the ceremony and reception, till the moment I left, I was greeted and helped by a very warm and friendly staff. The bridal suite was beautiful. We and our out of town guests stayed at The Grand after our wedding. It was a beautiful hotel and a good value for the money. Our bridal suite was beautiful and the view was gorgeous. The breakfast was great as well and we loved meeting our guests for breakfast before everyone departed.

I can not praise the service I received from the POK grand staff enough. Five stars does not seem to be as high as they deserve. Our coordinator Michelle did everything a bride could possibly ask for to help our reception go smoothly. They set up all our decorations, cleaned everything up, helped our vendors set up, etc. Michelle even let our groomsmen use the additional bridal suite to get ready in, even though our package only included one suite which the bridesmaids and I were using. The food was amazing and they even sent out small sampler plates to the guests which had samples of the dishes they did not order on them. All the guests said it was the best wedding cake they have ever eaten. I had a full candy buffet which the staff completely set up and cleaned up for me without any direction. They even spread little sparkles and glass decorations I had given them, on all the tables. I really cannot praise the POK grand enough for their quality of service. In addition to all of this, the place is absolutely beautiful and the price cannot be beat!! Thank you POK grand for making my day so awesome! On a side note, POK grand uses Lucille's Floral Design, for their centerpieces. We decided to use her for our bouquets as well. Well the centerpieces were quite ugly and when it came time to leave for the church, we realized we had one less bridesmaid bouquet than what we were supposed to have! Our head waited had to run around and pick flowers out of the (ugly) centerpieces to make a bouquet for the maid of honor. Also my flowers were pretty but not that fresh as they had brown around the edges and the Bridesmaid's bouquets fell apart as we were taking pictures after the church. If you are going to use the POK grand I would opt out of the centerpieces and use a company of your own choosing.

We used the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel for our wedding guests to stay at for our wedding that was held at the Grandview. The staff of the Grand was very accomodating. The hotel has been recently remodeled from top to bottom and is beautiful! The bridal suite was huge and had a great view of the bridge and the river. The complimentary breakfast for all of our guests staying at the hotel had a lot to offer and was delicious! Thank you!

The Grand was absolutely wonderful on all counts. Leading up to the wedding everyone was extremely helpful in the planning process and answering any and all questions we had. In addition, the booking of rooms for our guests was so easy and the staff was willing to help in any way possible. The day of the wedding, we could not have asked for better service. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure that our day was perfect. In addition, the benefits are above and beyond for the price-per-plate the Grand charges. I would definitely recommend the Grand to anyone wanting to have a wedding in the Poughkeespie area.

My wedding was the BEST DAY OF MY LIFE and much of that is due to the Poughkeepsie Grand. Along the way, they were so flexible with my options for our catering and the price was just so low compared to others- but the food and service was not sacrificed. Our guests loved the food and the surroundings, it was BEAUTIFUL at Christmas time. Our Maitre De was fabulous and very attentive- many of our guests said that ours was the best, most fun wedding they have been to!

The Grand did an excellent job with my wedding. We had booked them only 3 months prior to the wedding, and in that 3 month period everything was ironed out in only 3 meetings. Tara was a pleasure to work with, as well as the rest of the staff. The food was excellent, and VERY plentiful. The bridal party was given a private room to relax in during the cocktail hour and we were doted on basically hand and foot. I never felt like any of the staff was insincere and the Maitre d' was wonderful. The centerpieces were included and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff did a wonderful job decorating as I was not picky and gave them free reign (basically I told them to just "make it look good"). Everything was spectacular and the amount of things they include is astounding. Definitely worth every penny.

The Poughkeepsie Grand was excellent. The price is reasonable, the staff are wonderful to work with and you get so much with your package. You get SO much food, free honeymoon suite, free rooms, rooms at a discounted price for your guests, cake is included, cocktail and reception in 2 different rooms, expert help and so much more.

I planned a wedding from out of state and Michelle at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel made that so easy for me. Then, during the actual reception, everything was exactly as I had requested and better. The Terrace ballroom and Sapphire package was what we bought, and even though we had the bare minimum our package allowed for people, almost everything went off without a hitch. Our guests had a great time, the ceremony went off without a hitch. The food was excellent and they were very mindful of my wife's food allergies in helping us figure out the menu.
The staff was spot on with everything except they let the wedding in the next ballroom take over the terrace for photos, so we didn't get a chance to take very many there with our bridal party.

My fiance and I met with Gina to tour the hotel and she was great. She showed us everything we would encounter for the wedding and answered all our questions and made some suggestions. She was very helpful and professional. She also did not push us into any decision which I really liked. She did not seem like she wanted to convince us to book, we talked with her like we were talking to a friend. The hotel package we choose is the best around. I researched close to 100 venues and this was the best option.

Great pricing super good food servics very attenitive . Our overnight room was very nice !! I love how the cake came from the pastry garden.

The staff at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel are professional and personal. Not only did they make my now husband and I feel comfortable but all of our guests left beyond happy. We had several services at the hotel, from a room block, to post-party. Each staff person I worked with was beyond friendly and when my wedding day came, everything was taken care of. The hotel was beyond clean and the food was amazing!!
I would recommend The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel to anyone who plans to visit the area.

Overall I had a wonderful wedding experience with the Poughkeepsie Grand. My husband and I selected the Grand for our reception and guest hotel following our ceremony in West Point, NY. The food was delicious, the waiting staff friendly and efficient, and the location lovely. Our guests were kept entertained with the cocktail hour and the patio we had access to during the reception. Plenty of space for everyone to mingle and move about. The bridal powder room right next door was especially convenient for getting ready and touchups throughout the night. Our wedding coordinator was so helpful and pleasant to work with, and she really assisted us in planning our night. The only problem we encountered throughout the whole experience was some room confusion upon checking in the night before the wedding. Overall, I would recommend the Grand to anyone looking for a quality reception location with delicious food that also seconds as accommodations.

The food was amazing and they had a variety of choices. The free trolley takes you to shadows and the last pick up time is 1:30am. Very convenient. They did not provide the champagne to our guests during cocktail- which we paid for.
One person told us to enter and my fiance almost saw me prior to the ceremony...our best man caught that in time thank god!
They did not light our candle ahead of time, so we had to stop the ceremony so someone could get matches...this lost us some time.
Overall though- wonderful.
The food was excellent and the help/wait staff/mat. D....ect. were super!!

My husband and I have been to a few weddings here before and have had several positive recommendations for The Grand, so we were not worried at all having them do our reception. Michelle was our wedding coordinator and she was very professional, friendly, responsive and helpful in all of the planning aspects leading up to the wedding day. Michelle made sure that everything ran smoothly and that the reception was beautiful. She was always detail oriented and easy to reach. Andrew our matre d was very friendly, well-organized and knowledgeable. He also made our reception run smoothly and provided excellent service to our bridal party, family and guests. It was very convenient having our reception here because we did not have to worry about our guests drinking and driving because the reception is in the hotel. Having our reception there was also a perk for those who had to travel because all they had to do was go right upstairs to their room and crash...then join us in the morning for breakfast ;-) (The Grand provides a delicious complimentary breakfast buffet in the morning for all overnight guests) So that was also a plus, that we got to have a complimentary breakfast with family and friends the next morning. In the package we chose, The Grand also provided a few complimentary rooms, including a suite for the Bride & Groom. There are many packages to choose from for all budget types and their rates are probably the best in the area! (if not one of the best!) And the food is excellent. Even though we have been to a few weddings here, we still made sure to do a food tasting first to make sure that we still loved the food. And we did. They stuffed us and our guests and no one went home hungry. The Grand also made sure to box up some leftovers for us and offered guests seconds...Can't go wrong here! The Poughkeepsie Grand is a great venue choice!!!
