Pleasantdale was the only venue we toured in person when looking for wedding venues. I did a lot of searching online, and most of what I found did not fit our desired style. Finding Pleasantdale and looking at their website felt like a perfect fit, and it turned out to be exactly that. We were wowed from the first time we drove up the driveway and we continued to be wowed every time we went up there, all the way up to the wedding day. Fred was the utmost professional from the moment we met him, and did an excellent job both showing off the house and venue itself, as well as explaining how they run weddings. After the meeting, Fred was so accomodating with all our follow up questions and moving dates as we dealt with existing family conflicts before we signed the contract. Almost every time I emailed him, I received a response back so fast. I always felt heard and like my tastes and wishes were being taken care of. We knew we didn't want any of our family and friends to have to deal with anything during our wedding, and Pleasantdale takes care of everything. They also fill the role of multiple vendors, taking care of catering, alcohol, linens, tables and chairs, bartenders, wait staff, and day-of coordinator. When we had our details meeting, we were under our minimum guest count and Fred was great adding in additional options for food and drink. While there isn't a food tasting, we got a sampling of everything served during happy hour right after the reception in the bridal salon, which also allowed us to decompress and take in the moment. Our attendants were so helpful throughout the day, and Brian as the maitre-de kept everything running so smoothly throughout the day. We had a smaller wedding, about 75 guests, and we never felt out of place or judged for having a smaller wedding in that venue. All of our guests raved about the food, and the after party was a blast. I could not imagine having chosen another venue. By the end, I truly felt like they were treating us like family. I had my perfect dream wedding and got my day as a princess, and it's all due to Pleasantdale.

The team's meticulous attention to detail, unwavering work ethic, and genuine passion for creating personalized, flawless events were evident throughout our experience.

The grounds at Pleasantdale Chateau are exquisitely maintained, with every room beautifully designed to preserve the estate's old-world charm. Upon arrival, you're immediately enveloped in the stunning architecture, elegant interior design, and natural beauty of the venue.

The food was outstanding—a true culinary delight. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the variety, quality, and artistry of each dish. The cocktail service and alcohol selection were also top-tier, with impressive variety and quality.

It was an experience of a lifetime, and we are incredibly grateful for the support and excellence provided throughout the planning process and on our special day. The best of the best of the best of the best. I cannot praise Pleasantdale enough. The venue is amazing. The castle has so much gorgeous character and the grounds are stunning and well kept. We had our ceremony outside, and the wedding gods were looking down on us and gave us a gorgeous day.
Although not being able to taste the food before can be a cause of anxiety, do not fret. The food was to die for. All our guests still talk about the food being the best they’ve had at any wedding. You have the entire castle from 11am the morning of - 11am the next day. The Chateau hosts a wonderful breakfast for all your guests the next morning. There are about 30 guest rooms on the grounds and as the bride and groom, you get a master bedroom in the castle and they have a room for both sets of parents!!
The staff is reliable and dedicated to making your day as seamless and memorable as possible. You cannot go wrong with this place. They’re fabulous. There isn’t a single negative thing I could say.

Ryan and I want to share our deep gratitude and sincere appreciation for the extraordinary experience we had at the Pleasantdale Chateau in West Orange, NJ. Our wedding day, held at this remarkable venue in September 2023, was not just a day we will remember for the rest of our lives; it was a day that exceeded our wildest dreams in every possible way.

From the moment we first laid eyes on the Pleasantdale Chateau, we were enchanted by its sheer beauty. The venue's idyllic surroundings, from the manicured gardens to the enchanting architecture, provided an unparalleled backdrop that felt like something out of a fairy tale. It was love at first sight and reminiscent of our engagement trip to Europe.

The team at Pleasantdale Chateau demonstrated a level of service that was truly second to none. We want to give a personal shout out to Fred, Tori, Santiago, Bryan, Dawn and our bridal attendants: Michelle, Ang.

Every member showcased a high degree of courtesy and attentiveness. It was evident that they were not only exceptionally skilled but also genuinely passionate about their roles, ensuring that every guest had a memorable experience.

From our very first inquiry to the final moments of our wedding day, they displayed professionalism, warmth, and a dedication to making our day exceptional. Their attention to detail and their ability to put us at ease throughout the planning process was truly remarkable. The food served at our wedding was a culinary masterpiece. All of guests COULD NOT stop talking about the food, especially the cocktail hour. Until this day, our guests are still talking about the food and how it does not compare to other weddings they’ve been to. Fred Fogg and his team included our favorite pasta dish - cacio pepe which our guests went crazy over. With my Filipino background, they also included a roasted pig which also was a hit. Every bite was a masterpiece. Period. We should also mention the alcohol selection was top notch. Our signature cocktails were a hit. The bar service was impeccable, and our guests were thoroughly impressed by the variety and quality of libations.

The after-wedding breakfast was a delightful continuation of our celebration. It allowed us to spend more time with our closest family and friends in a relaxed and intimate setting.

The accommodations at Pleasantdale Chateau were nothing short of luxurious. Our bridal suite was beautifully appointed, providing a spacious and elegant setting for us to relax and prepare for our big day. The room was impeccably clean, and the attention to detail in its design and furnishings was apparent.

Our guests were equally impressed with their rooms. The Chateau's rooms were a blend of classic elegance and modern convenience, offering a perfect balance of comfort and style. The staff ensured that our guests were well taken care of and had everything they needed for a comfortable stay.

We are incredibly grateful to the entire team at the Pleasantdale Chateau for their exceptional service and unwavering commitment to making our wedding day a dream come true. We can't say enough about our exceptional experience at this wedding venue. As foodies, my husband and I had that at the top of our priority list…and let me tell you it was nothing short of amazing. Every single item blew us and all of our guests out of the water. Seriously everyone could not stop raving about it, saying it was the best food they’ve ever had. It even exceeded my expectations, as I’ve never been to a wedding or event where I did not have single critique or complaint about a dish.

The venue itself was a dream, a stunning and gorgeous backdrop for our special day. Tucked away in the little town of West Orange, it’s very unassuming at first…but as you drive in you feel that you’ve been transported to a gorgeous little getaway. You definitely don’t feel like you’re in NJ anymore!

The second priority was the service and we wanted to find a venue that paid attention to detail, deliver exceptional service, and could ensure the day went smoothly. Pleasantdale achieved just that. The service and staff were impeccable, and anything we or our guests needed was taken care of.

A special shout out goes to my bridal attendant, Liz, who went above and beyond to keep me calm, happy, and assist me with every single thing I needed (and I mean EVERYTHING) throughout the day. She even went as far as to keep me cool by fanning me with an electric fan in between all my pictures. She helped bustle my dress, put on my veil, helped my train, and carried my touch up makeup and cellphone throughout the day. I needed to change into sneakers and she found my socks from my luggage upstairs in a split second. I don’t know how she does it but she is a superwoman!!! The day truly would not have been the same or run as smoothly without her. I really missed having her by my side when the day was over LOL.

Lastly, we worked with Fred, who was our dedicated planner/ coordinator. He was so helpful every step of the way…from when we first toured the venue, to curating our food menu and even working with all our vendors to ensure everything was perfect for the big day. He was always quick to answer my messages and always had our best interests in mind…making sure we were happy and well taken care of. As a bride, there's often a lot to be stressed about, and a lot of details and logistics to figure out. But in working with Fred, I instantly felt at ease because I was confident that he would be able to take care of it all. (Which is extremely important because the last thing you want is to be stressing out on your wedding day). The entire Pleasantdale staff and service was truly exceptional, and unlike any experience I've had before. It allowed me to stay present, have fun, and create lasting memories for a lifetime. I’m still reminiscing about our wedding day and how perfect it truly was. Thank you Pleasantdale and everyone involved who helped make our big day so special!!!

We have toured 50+ venues until we saw and fell in love with Pleasantdale. Best. Decision. Ever. Our wedding at Pleasantdale was perfect from start to finish - beyond our wildest dreams. We were treated like celebrities. Months later we still get texts and calls from guests (as well as people who didn’t attend but heard about it) raving about the best wedding they’ve ever been to. My husband’s grandma can’t stop talking about our wedding and calls it one of the best events in her entire life. The venue is breathtaking inside and out, from the rustic chateau to the all encompassing grounds for any wedding theme imaginable (water/pool, forest, rustic, greenhouse, fairytale, etc) - you won’t run out of photo ops. As someone who toured over 50 wedding venues I truly hope this review will save you some time and pain.

We got married at Pleasantdale this spring. And every day since I wish I could go back to that day. If I have to name 5 best decisions of my entire life - choosing Pleasantdale was definitely one of them. I do really wish we saw Pleasantdale first or only saw Pleasantdale (for obvious reasons) because it checked all the boxes (year-round gorgeous grounds, a charming rustic European/American golden age chateau, fairytale wedding ceremony options - both indoors and outdoors, raving reviews/reputation, INCREDIBLE food (cocktails AND entrees), and most importantly, the BEST team/family you’d ever work with). We saw venues across Long Island, NYC, NJ & CT prior to Pleasantdale (it was a long difficult, painful 7-month journey). Had we seen Pleasantdale first it would have saved us the 50 trips touring other wedding venues. If you do the math, it’s a minimum 1-2 hours getting to/from venues, then about 1 hour at each venue. 50x that… I don’t think I could fully articulate the pain.

Pleasantdale was actually the first place we called based on the many friends’ recommendations but when we called they were all booked for the year. A few months - and many venues later, just when we were about to give up, my then fiancé said why don’t we give it another try? Lucky for us they just had a last-minute cancellation for a date 4 months out and this was why Pleasantdale was the last venue we ever saw. One of our luckiest days.

From saying yes to Pleasantdale to our wedding day it was just shy of 4 months. A very short time but it was no challenge for the team at Pleasantdale. We were so blessed to work with the nicest, most talented, most professional people who love what they do and are passionate about making the day the perfect day for every couple.

From the bottom of my heart I want to thank Fred (the venue manager) who was a miracle worker. Without him we wouldn’t have had this wedding, and most definitely not a wedding at all because any sane person would have given up after seeing so many places and feeling let down. Fred is basically someone I could trust my life with. From day one Fred gets it, makes it happen, and has this rare natural ability to make anyone feel at ease (I was a hot mess) because he’s already got the flawless wedding figured out! A breeze to work with, Fred was honest, patient, and took great care of us. Not to be weird but I just wanna say I wish Fred were my dad. Fred - we will never be able to thank you enough. Pleasantdale being one of the best decisions of my life, you had everything to do with that. Thank you for giving us the most beautiful memories.

Santiago, Santiago, Santiago. How much more can I love you? Santiago was our Maître d. We only needed to talk to Santiago once or twice a month prior to our wedding because boy did he know how to throw a party! Santiago knew what we liked before we even did. He listened to our every word to help us craft the perfect menu, our perfect day. He was like a big brother to me. His passion and dedication to the couples is his secret sauce.

Tori (the banquet captain AND best wedding advisor) was kind and supportive from the moment I met her. She had a great eye for things. I trusted Tori’s taste way more than my own. The day of our wedding Tori checked on us throughout the day making sure we were well taken care of and having the best time. Tori also worked her magic, along with Bryant, to make the day run as smoothly as it did. Thank you for letting us lean on you. We couldn’t have imagined the day without you! And there are so many more staff that we are so thankful for that we can’t name all here - Dawn, Lisbeth, and Beatrice and many more. It took a village! Thank you all for being there for us and being so kind ❤️

Through all of the planning, every single person we came into contact with was better than the next. Our wedding day was the best day of our lives, everything we wanted and more, and because of the amazing staff we were able to enjoy every second with no worries. There was not a detail out of place, the staff at Pleasantdale will leave you speechless. We got married at Pleasantdale Chateau a month ago and still cannot believe how perfect of a day it was. There is too much to say about how amazing the staff, the food, the scenery, and everything else was, and that probably wouldn't even do it justice.

The staff understands what a momentous occasion your day is, and are honestly all miracle workers. From when Fred first takes you through the grounds, to your meeting with Santiago and Bryant, all the way up to the day itself, you are in great hands. Dawn and Hilda kept in contact with us all the way leading up to the wedding, never letting us feel out of the loop. On the day of the wedding Tori and our two attendants Anjalie and Melissa were so attentive, helpful, and on top of everything. We honestly don't think we could have survived the day without them.

Both our families, our bridal party, and all of our guests were beyond taken care of. There was no “we had a lovely time” it was only “this is amazing, this is the best wedding I’ve ever been to.” The food, the service, every detail was raved about.

I imagine every other Bride and Groom think the same thing we did when driving home the morning after, and that was "there is no other venue that could have possibly been this perfect."

The Pleasantdale Chateau was the highlight of our wedding. It was the foundation that we built our whole wedding plan around, the big hitter in our lineup, the center of our wedding solar system. The venue's reputation speaks for itself, but a few quick highlights from us. The location is incredible, you essentially have an entire estate to yourself. The building is beautiful and unique. With fireplaces, a green room, a pool, a game room, etc. The food is delicious and the chef is extremely versatile, anything we could think of the Chateau was able to include in our cocktail hour. Finally, the service was spectacular. You will not find a more professional, top-of the line group of people. They were even able to provide an ice sculpture of our dog and cat! A special shout out to Fred, Suzie, Lizebth and Michelle! Also, Fred's daughter was fantastic and is a rising star in the industry! (Apologies if you are reading this, as we forgot your name amidst the beautiful hustle of our wedding day). Also, the fact that the Chateau has rooms on site is a game-changer. We could not be happier with our decision and highly highly recommend!

It doesn’t get better than the Pleasantdale Chateau. Picking them for our wedding was the easiest decision that we made wedding planning and the day could not have been better. Every single person at the PDC was incredible and I have the utmost respect for the operation that they run. The food is unrivaled, the seamless coordination is a master class in how to do things right, the warmth and kindness that they treat all guests with is amazing, the grounds work and upkeep makes for the most beautiful pictures and experience, There is no better venue.

What an absolute fairytale of a wedding. I wish we could live there. I can go on and on about how amazing everything was – the environment, the staff, the food, even the days leading up to the wedding were all great. I now understand why there are really long reviews of this place! :)
When we arrived at Pleasantdale for the first time, we were just in awe. It’s an absolutely stunning, breathtaking place, literally out of a fairytale. Our theme was Beauty and the Beast, so we knew right off the bat that this was our venue. Fred was the one to show us around. He was very to the point and down to earth, my family and I got along with him really well. After we booked the date and a couple of months before the wedding, we were in communication with Dawn and Marta. They were both very responsive and answered all of our questions. Then, we went back to Pleasantdale to meet with Fred and Santiago to go over all of the wedding details. That meeting really put us all in great spirts, and got us so pumped for the wedding! Santiago is one of the most friendly, funny, and down to earth guys I have ever met. He just made us feel so secure knowing that he was the one leading the charge on the day of the wedding.
The day of the wedding, we had Lessly, Beatriz, and Lizbeth as our attendants. Lessly in particular was my attendant, and I literally have no idea how I could have managed the day without her. She was always there when I needed her help. Honestly, the 3 of them were basically like wedding planners, which was really appreciated since we did not have a wedding planner. They were all so nice and very helpful to us and all of our guests. The night was absolutely amazing, and we could not be happier that we chose the Pleasantdale Chateau.

Choosing Pleasantdale was the best decision we could ever make. They are a well oiled machine who put on phenomenal events and an experience like no other. Quality from top to bottom, from the beautiful property, the amazing staff and high caliber food and drinks. Not one thing went wrong and people have not stopped telling us this was the best wedding they have ever been to!

Pleasantdale Chateau not only lived up to the hype but absolutely exceeded it for our wedding. It's hard to even begin describing it all, but PDC was an A+++ across the board for everything including:

- service, the entire PDC team (Fred, Santiago, Dawn, Hilda, Liz, Melissa, I could go on for a wile) are super professional, nice, responsive, and ensure your wedding day is not only a huge success but an epic celebration

- the food truly is incredible. I read this in a lot of reviews beforehand but I can promise the food is delicious and will have all the guests raving afterwars

- the cocktail hour is legendary and will go down in infamy for not only you but all your guests. It's massive, delicious, and every room you pop into there will be something else.

- the grounds are beyond beautiful and the ballroom is magnificent. It's a one of a kind experience walking around and having it be totally yours for the day.

- I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but again, the entire PDC team (sales, wait staff, chefs, attendants, etc) are ALL STARS and give you their 100% attention from stepping foot on the venue and stepping out the next day with your suitcase and packages in tow.

We have literally nothing bad to say about our experience other than we wish we could do it again. Thanks again to the PDC team and if you're considering this venue (and have the means to have it here) you absolutely should.

I have no words - only gratitude - for the best wedding decision we made. I cannot imagine our wedding without Pleasantdale Chateau as our venue. To say that Fred, Santiago, Dawn, Martha & team were the most unbelievable, well organized, and put together group of individuals I have ever met would not be doing the venue justice. Everything was remarkable - the weather was perfect (lucky me), the food was the best food some of my guests ate in their life, everything was spotless and clean, the evening flowed seamlessly, and everything was simply perfect. This was a glimpse of Europe in the great state of New Jersey, and I cannot imagine a more authentic and beautiful wedding venue for us. Thank you for everything PDC, you are perfect.

My wedding was a fairytale. The pleasantdale chateau is like no other place. The staff, service, food, elegance, and kindness that the pleasantdale has to offer is like no other. It truly is magical. I recommend this to anyone who is looking to have an over the top wedding. The experience is an experience of a lifetime. In the two months since our wedding, I have heard from every guest that it was the best wedding they've ever been to, and that's entirely because of Fred, Santiago, and the whole Pleasantdale team. Like so many little girls, my daughter always dreamed of having the kind of wedding that one would only read about in books or see in movies. Two years ago, when she became engaged to the man she knew she would love forever, our search for the perfect wedding venue began. After viewing several venues, however, our excitement soon began to turn to disappointment and frustration. None of them fit with the aesthetics my daughter had in mind, and not one gave us a high-impact first impression.

Pleasantdale Chateau, however, was the game changer. From the very first email communication between myself and Fred Fogg, the Director of Sales and Catering, I could tell that this place was very different from all the rest that we had visited. I knew I had to set up a meeting and a tour with Fred immediately. The moment we arrived, it was unlike any other venue we had ever seen. It was truly magical, and we were excited to see more! We couldn't wait to explore everything! It was nothing short of a hidden gem that would provide my daughter with the wedding she's always dreamed of with private and exclusive use of the entire estate. Every turn was a unique and breathtaking new experience.

My daughter's wedding date in July 2020 was postponed another year due to the pandemic. As disappointing as that was, my daughter and son-in-law finally had their very own fairytale wedding on July 22nd, and it was nothing short of amazing. The attention to detail, the responsiveness, the professionalism of the entire staff is second to none. Last night my husband and I finally got to celebrate our wedding after postponing from last year. All I can say is that it was well worth the wait!! This venue is like no other. From the very first time I walked through the Pleasantdale, it was like being in your very own magical story book. I felt so special yesterday as everyone at the venue catered to my family, friends and I all day long. Fred, Santiago and his team have been on top of every single detail, have helped me through the entire wedding planning process, and have been super personable and responsive the entire time we have worked with them. My attendant, Lessly was so sweet and was by my side the entire night. She even sewed one of my bridesmaids dresses for her on the spot! I felt so special and my guests were blown away by every single detail. Everyone raved over the food, the drinks, and the beauty and character of the venue itself. It was a wedding like no other and I am so happy to now be a part of the Pleasantdale family!

The moment we stepped through the doors on our walk through, we knew Pleasantdale was where we wanted to get married. The delightful staff, the grounds, and the European charm all captivated us. Our wedding day started early with us utilizing the bridal & groom suites -- our bridal attendants were bar none! They didn't miss a beat and were truly happy to help us. Our ceremony in the ballroom was simply stunning and all of the staff was so complimentary and made me feel SO special.

Cocktail hour is EPIC! Guests can walk the historic grounds while indulging in amazing food. From there guests were escorted into the grand ballroom for an amazing night of dinner and dancing. The dinner options feel like you're ordering from a 5 star restaurant and custom desserts were a great finishing touch! Again, the staff were so attentive to our us, our families, and guests.

The quality of Pleasantdale in every aspect can't be beat. Our guests continue to rave about their experience here. It was truly a magical day! 5 stars are not enough for Pleasantdale!!!

My husband and I looked at Pleasantdale Chateau in December of 2018. It was the last stop on our venue tour for the day. As soon as we arrived at the front gate, we were taken away. The beauty of the Chateau is overwhelming, and any pictures of it that we had previously seen do not do it justice. We sat down with Fred, the director of sales and catering. He told us about what Pleasantdale had to offer, and it did not compare to any venues we had researched or saw. We went back a week later and booked!

Fast forward to the week before our original wedding date. Fred and Dawn (another sales manager) had been in contact with my husband and I daily before we finally decided to postpone our wedding date to 8/27/20. They were so helpful (this was literally the beginning of the pandemic and nobody knew what was going on) and made the difficulty decision to postpone feel as it were the right decision. In May of 2020, I had feelings that August would still not work for us as far as possible COVID restrictions go. I was nervous to reach out to Fred because I had seen so many posts that other venues were up charging, or not letting couples reschedule until closer to their date. I emailed Fred regarding my concerns and he immediately called me back. He offered, almost immediately, for us to postpone a second time to 3/21/2021. Mind you, Fred never once gave us a hard time, made us feel guilty, or asked us for more money. He was always completely understanding throughout this entire process.

Fast forward now once more to our third wedding reception date and there are no words to express how perfect the day was. The food, the service, the organization, all 100% on point. There was literally not one thing that went wrong with the day (that I know of anyway!) and I am so grateful for Pleasantdale for making this long-awaited day a perfect one. I want to give a shout out to my bridal attendant Leslie who was phenomenal. She was there with me every second of the day to take pictures on my phone, give me a lipstick touch up, answer literally any question I had, and truly make sure everything ran smoothly. If I didn’t have her, I don’t know what I would do!

There are no words that can truly encapsulate how AMAZING this venue is. Not only in looks, but the communication and business end as well. From day 1, Pleasantdale Chateau has been on top of everything. I have not one complaint leading up to my wedding day. The beautiful grounds, the over-accommodation, the FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS AND GORGEOUS TO LOOK AT. My guests still to this day talk about the amazing cocktail hour and say it was the best wedding they have ever attended. Fred and Santiago go above and beyond to make your day as perfect as it should be. I am a vendor in the wedding industry myself, and I have to say this is the top venue to work for. They truly know what they’re doing and how to go about their business. Any time I even thought of something I needed, the bridal attendants helping that day were right behind me with whatever I needed without even having to tell them. The hospitality here cannot be matched. The ceremony, reception, after party, rooms in the chateau for guests to stay, and the day after brunch… it’s unreal, SO SO magical. My husband and I are big foodies and this venue allowed our creativity to flow- we truly could not have been happier. We cannot wait to attend the De Ja Vu Event or another wedding here as a guest in the future. The Pleasantdale Chateau will always be our favorite place to be

I don’t even know where to begin to start this review, because no words can describe Pleasantdale Chateau. My review is long, but it has to be. But let me just say, they lived up to everything and BEYOND my dreams! This was the most unreal group of people I have ever worked with start to finish.I am still in such awe that weekend was my wedding and people are still messaging me about. It was one of the greatest days of my life.I will begin by the background of story. I was supposed to get married in March, obviously due to the the pandemic a week and half before we shut down. I was devastated, couldn’t believe that all this planning and excitement was taken away. At that time, no other dates were obviously available for 2020, so I was offered any Saturday in 2021. Which is great, because I have heard horror stories of other venues only offering brides a Monday- Thursday!! Fred and I spent almost every week together on the phone. At the time this was all unknown where it was going. But I knew I didn’t want to wait until 2021. I had a May, June, August and January date. I refused to give up, and Fred refused to give up on me also. They did anything in there power to make the day happen for me. End of the summer is when I took a October date, and I am truly so thankful I did. I could spend all day writing this review because there was so much detail that Pleasantdale put into my wedding day. From the moment we pulled up wedding morning there was a group of workers unloading our car, setting us up in the bridal suite. Food and drinks were displayed. Same for my husband. This was the most EXCEPTIONAL staff I have ever seen in my life. Everytime I turned around, a staff member was there with anything I needed. Cocktail hour was the most amazing thing I have seen, and my guests are truly still raving aboit it. I have never tasted that kind of food at wedding and I have been to a lot. Our private cocktail hour is when we tasted it all and all we could say is WOW. Dinner, After party and breakfast were all amazing and the food was unreal! They made every guest feel safe, clean and comfortable. My wedding was truly a magical, fairytale day. Santiago, ran my wedding day and my family is still talking about him!! He is so kind, caring and attentive. Fred, Santiago, Dawn and the rest of the staff at Pleasantdale, you will forever have a special place in my heart. We have spent many months in contact and I am so grateful to have the relationship with them as I do now. Pleasantdale was the greatest decision myself, my husband and my parents have ever made. It was an over the top, beautiful day and I am truly so lucky to have gotten married at the one and only, Pleasantdale Chateau!

When looking for a venue, we must have toured at least 15+ venues throughout New Jersey until we came across this one. Once we toured it, we were all in agreement that this was the one! Having seen plenty of golf clubs, ballrooms, as well as another chateau or two chateau - there was something authentic about Pleasantdale. There was a sense of history and warmth at this venue versus the many other stark, white venues I came across. There were other venues that tried to offer this same appeal, but come no where close. Throughout the grounds you find unique architecture that cannot even be compared to usual, mundane ballrooms! Such a beautiful property added an element of decor that no florist or decorator could provide.

Beautiful grounds aside, the team at Pleasantdale was incredible. Both Fred and Santiago worked with us to create a day that would be unique and special to us. They were on top of every detail. They made our wedding seamless without any hiccups. All our guests still rave about the cocktail hour and food! Their catering team was excellent. They decorated our wedding cake to our liking with just a couple photos off Pinterest - there wasn’t even a question of what was or wasn’t feasible. They even coordinated an amazing after party for us without us even having to worry about a single detail!

This venue is truly a gem hidden away in New Jersey! You cannot go wrong with Pleasantdale and its team!

Jaw drops and butterflies in your stomach the moment you walk in the French Chateau. The history, class, and unique, stunning architecture is supported by the most phenomenal professionals you’ll ever meet. My husband and I had to pinch ourselves! Pleasantdale was the first venue we visited and while we knew this was THE ONE, we wanted to keep searching. Big mistake. Our hearts brought us right back. Many have tried to duplicate this stunning chateau and nothing compares. Nothing ever will. We worked with Fred and instantly felt like family. Pleasantdale’ s philosophy is all around creating exceptional experiences for their brides and grooms and they far exceeded anything we could ever dream of. They will anticipate your every need! Outside of Fred’s amazing leadership, we were blessed with Santi, who led the night’s events perfectly. Our guests got to spent the night on-site and even the guestroom accommodations and experience was exceptional! I assure you. THE BEST COCKTAIL HOUR. THE BEST CUISINE. THE MOST AMAZING SELFESS, CARING STAFF. Thank you Fred, Santi and team for making dreams come true. You have loyal partners for life! We love you.

Words can’t explain how magical and amazing this place is. After seeing several venues, we thought it would be impossible to find 1) beautiful venue 2) great food 3) kind and attentive staff, until we met Fred and team at Pleasantdale Chateau. The venue is breathtakingly beautiful; we didn’t need to go anywhere else for photos. There were several places inside and outside for breathtaking photos. Months later, people are STILL talking about how amazing the food is. We don’t even know where to begin with the staff. Such incredible people who treated our wedding like we are family. Santiago, our Maitre D, was personable, funny, and took care of all the details of the day. Marta made sure everything was organized and even helped us the morning after our wedding to collect our stuff. The bridal attendants, Jessica and Jennifer, bent over backwards for us. Jessica first noticed I was getting over heated after taking photos outside and immediately got cold towels to put on me. They got my shoes when I couldn’t walk anymore. They located the marriage certificate when I forgot it on the way to church. I could keep going on and on about how amazing they are!!! We are so happy that we had our wedding at Pleasantdale Chateau. It was an incredible experience.

I had my wedding here in December 2019 and we booked it in July 2018. We looked at multiple other venues before coming here and nothing in the NJ/NY area even came close to impressing us as much as the PDC did. It was an absolute no brainer to host our wedding reception here :)

Where do I even begin with this review....

Pre-wedding: Fred (director of sales and catering) was the first person we met through our experience. He took us on a tour, walked through examples menus, pricing, and was our main point of contact until a month or so before the big day. He is absolutely amazing in every way. He answered all of our emails so quickly (and there were a lot!) and let us do our engagement shoot on the property. His main goal (as well as the entire staff) was to make our wedding day memorable and absolutely perfect...he went above and beyond in every way in achieving that goal.

About a month before our wedding, we met with Fred and Santiago (maitre d/point person day of) to go through every detail of our day including vendors, who was getting ready at the venue, overall flow and timing, menus, drinks, cake, favors, picture frames, and just about anything else you can think of including whether we wanted to use the PDC cake knife or our own. Yes, they think of every detail. I walked away from this meeting at ease knowing they would run the show on our wedding day. We didn't need a day of coordinator or wedding planner because PDC did all the work for us! P.S. - don't fret that there isn't a food or cake tasting. The food is INCREDIBLE. If it was a restaurant it would have Michelin stars...

Day of: We both got ready at the venue and had pretty large groups with us. There was ample space to comfortably have ~15 girls and 15 guys get ready beforehand in each suite. Our day of attendants were also so amazing in the process of getting ready. Camilla helped hold my flowers during pictures, got my shoes on for me, and even helped me go to the bathroom during the cocktail hour. From starting makeup and hair at 830am to the after party in the early morning/breakfast the next morning, everything was flawless because of Fred, Santiago, the bridal attendants, the chefs, waiters/waitresses, and everyone else at the PDC. There were literally no hiccups...everyone says that things will go wrong on your wedding day but PDC made sure nothing did.

Food/drinks: simply unbelievable that there was 5-star gourmet food from the cocktail hour through dessert. I've never had such amazing food at a wedding and I can 100% say no other wedding venue/caterer will beat the PDC chefs. My husband and I are huge foodies and have frequented multiple Michelin star restaurants across the globe so please believe me when I tell you that this food is top notch!!! What I loved most about picking the menu was that Fred and Santiago were so flexible in making sure we were happy with each dish. We were able to customize things just the way we wanted. All of the wine, beer, champagne, and liquor was top shelf as well.

After party/breakfast: so nice that you can do both of these at the same location, the after party is a few rooms off from the ballroom so it's easy for guests to walk into. You have a choice of whatever after party food your heart desires....we went with wings, grilled cheeses, fries, and sliders. You would think you would be full after the elaborate cocktail hour/dinner/and dessert but everyone at the after party made room for more bar food :) The breakfast buffet is held in the petit chateau and was also amazing. Omelettes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, yogurt, cereal, breads/pastries, juice, coffee, tea, French toast. What a spread!!! All of our guests who stayed at the venue as well as many at the nearby Westminster hotel joined us for breakfast (probably ~100 ppl out of 250 at the wedding).

Overnight rooms: we took advantage of using our bridal suite and our immediate family and entire bridal party stayed at the venue the night of as well. The rooms were all spacious, clean, elegant, and most importantly comfortable. So easy for guests to walk right out of the reception or after party to bed and then to breakfast the next morning.

Overall: Every guest told us this was the best wedding they had ever been to and will likely ever be at. People were stunned by the amount and quality of food, beautiful rooms/atmosphere, and fantastic staff. If this isn't a testament to why you should book your wedding here asap I don't know what is. If you need a final thought, I'll leave you with this....our wedding was absolutely spectacular. The pleasantdale chateau made sure it was perfect down to every detail and truly made our day/night magical. You NEED to have your wedding here :) I just hope I can be a guest at a wedding here soon!!!!

Fred, Santiago, Dawn & their entire team were absolutely amazing! The day of the wedding felt completely flawless thanks to everyone at Pleasantdale Chateau. Staff were helpful, things were setup on time, correctly & perfectly, and the food was over the top delicious. The personal assistant to the bride and groom was on point! Whatever we needed, she was there and got it done. Whether it was fixing the mother of the groom’s dress moments before the ceremony started or getting shots of Patron for us before we were announced at reception, she got it done. Our wedding wouldn’t have been the same without her. Thank you, thank you, thank you! For making our dream wedding become a reality. It was more than we could have ever imagined!

From the impeccable service team, to the amazing food you will be wowed from the moment you enter the Pleasantdale Chateau. This place is the stuff of dreams, and I can't wait to one day visit again!

“Chestnuts roasting on an open fire…” I sing this song as I drive down Chestnut Street to Red Bank Catholic High School. I have been doing this with my daughter for three years now.

“You have everything?” I ask as she reaches for the car door handle.

“Uh huh,” she answers. She leans over and gives me a peck on the cheek.

“Have a great day, Princess; make a difference!” I tell her and she is out the door.

She is already going through the door by the time I can give her one of our little waves one last time. She is a junior now and this will be the last year I will drive her to school first thing in the morning. I think about that as she enters the school.

“We have been doing this for years, Princess,” I tell myself while other cars and buses pull in. “Just you and I in the car on the way to school in the morning.” The old gray Volvo station wagon, the singing of chestnuts roasting, the hurried pecks on the cheek, the little waves. I realize that after this June, I will not be dropping you off at school and praying as you walk from the car. “Watch over her Lord. Keep her safe.” The same prayer I have prayed on thousands of mornings. When did you grow up? When did I start calling you Princess? That was years ago on the day that you were born and I held you in my arms and said, “Welcome, Princess.”

It was also then that I began continuously thinking about all the milestones that you will experience in your life, in particular, your wedding day. I would think, “Would it be fit for a princess…a Disney princess?”

That was my dream for you, a royal, fairytale wedding. My concern was could I make this a reality? Is there even such a place that could make this dream come true?

I remember and think about these concerns and this dream as I am driving down Eagle Rock Avenue on a bright April morning in 2017. My daughter, now 30, is engaged to be married. We are yet again, visiting another possible venue. It was our eighth, I think. I lost track. All in the effort of achieving the dream. At this point, we have looked in all of New Jersey and even New York City and nothing had yet been able to inspire the vision, the dream, or us.

As I drove through the beautiful gatehouse entrance at 757 Eagle Rock Avenue, I immediately became excited. This only intensified as I drove down the magnificent winding, scenic road of trees, bridges and lake property. I thought I was entering a royal castle. Then we pulled around the corner and were awe-inspired by the beautiful flower garden on our left and the magnificent estate on our right; an estate that I would call from that point onward, “The Castle.” I would come to love both. It was absolutely stunning.

I looked at my pretty wife of 32 years and said, “Could this be the place?” And as beautiful as the grounds and the exterior of the Pleasantdale Chateau are, we had not yet experienced the best of it.

We then walked into Pleasantdale for the first time to meet Mr. Fred Fogg, the Director of Pleasantdale. Let me first tell you, I wish everyone could experience walking into Pleasantdale Chateau for the first time. It was such an incredible awe-inspiring experience filled with so much character, beauty and fascination. It is a vision that I will never forget.

Mr. Fogg took us on an amazing, very detailed tour of this simply breathtaking estate that lasted over an hour. He was incredibly patient in answering all of our questions and addressing our concerns. He did not know it at that point, but I had fallen head over heels in love with the property and the estate (AKA, “The Castle”) the moment I entered the exquisite entrance hall, and it had grown steadily throughout the tour. It had everything we had dreamed of for my daughter’s wedding. The best part? We still had not experienced the best of it yet.

While Fred exemplified the utmost professionalism, knowledge and business acumen, I assure you it never once interrupted his genuine care for my daughter, her experience as a bride, and the integrity of the event and Pleasantdale Chateau. It was clear from the start that he and his team’s goal was to ensure the whole wedding process was unforgettable for my daughter, with a distinction that only Pleasantdale Chateau could provide. That is exactly what they did for the whole 18 months of her engagement.

When Fred Fogg, Pleasantdale Chateau, and I came to terms and agreement and we booked it as our choice for the venue, both parties had responsibilities that we agreed to. Mine, of course, were financial, which were honored. Fred Fogg and team were to provide an absolutely incredible wedding for my daughter; one she would never forget. Fred Fogg and his team not only honored this, but they went multiple levels above and beyond to make my daughter’s wedding the fairytale wedding she always wanted and I could never have paid enough for this. It was priceless.

The Chefs and the food at Pleasantdale Chateau are the crème-de-la-crème of venues and Michelin restaurants. It rivals any quality restaurant in this country but has a more upscale, decidedly genteel, atmosphere, reminiscent of an exclusive private dignitary event. Everything Pleasantdale Chateau offers says "quality," from the incredible Hospitality hour, the undisputed, fabulous, best cocktail hour imaginable, the finely planned dinner, the beautifully unique and unbelievable dessert offering, and the fine service.
The foods are just amazing. As a cocktail hour, the herb crusted rack of lamb is perfection. The Roasted suckling pig is heavenly. The Sushi and Lobster stations are as good as they get. The Pasta stations and the Fresh Mozzarella station are to die for, and the Seafood station on ice will simply blow you away. As main courses, the Filet Mignon is one of the most delicious pieces of beef I've ever tasted. The side orders, such as Gruyere and Garlic Dauphinoise potatoes or Potato Gnocci with Pea Tendrils, are also excellent. And the wine list is exceptional.
Just when you think you can't eat any more, Pleasantdale offers a range of special desserts, including unique twists on many that would make a French pastry chef swoon.
This is the "real deal." It's truly worth saving up for.


So, if you have not guessed by now, the real genuine secret at Pleasantdale Chateau, while it has awe-inspiring beauty, opulence, grandeur, and simply incredible food, it is the people that make this venue truly remarkable; it is the people at Pleasantdale that make all of the difference. The incredible chefs and staff that see to you and your guests’ every whim. And it all starts and ends with the Director of Operations and Head Maître D, Santiago Sevilla. I am here to tell you, personally, that not only is he the best wedding director, but he is also an incredible person. My family was so blessed to have him as a part of and leading this special event in our lives. As Elvis Presley was born to sing, Santiago was born to provide couples the grandest wedding experience one could provide. His commitment to the couple, the families, and most importantly, the guests, is incomparable, unparalleled and indescribable. The only way to truly comprehend this dedication is to actually experience it.

Therefore, if your daughter or your son is getting married, I recommend you visit Pleasantdale Chateau and have the experience of a lifetime. The experience Fred, Santiago and the full staff at Pleasantdale Chateau burned into my family memory will last forever and there is no cost that could match that.

We got married at Pleasantdale Chateau in August. Let me start by saying “wow”! From the beginning of our search, we knew this was going to be great, because everywhere I looked, I could only find/hear good things about this place (even from people that work for other venues), so we had really high expectations. From the first meeting with Fred to the very end (the morning after our wedding), Pleasantdale Chateau exceeded our expectations in every aspect. Thank you, Fred, Santiago and everyone else who made our day perfect!

The place was gorgeous (we went for our tour in the winter, it was really nice, but when we went back close to the wedding date, it was absolutely stunning!); service was amazing, and the food, omg, was insane in terms of both quantity and quality (guests were definitely wow-ed, many of them said it’s the best they’ve ever had, which we were very glad to hear, because food was the most important factor to us when picking our venue). My only regret was, we did not get to enjoy a lot of the amazing food (too busy and excited), I wish we had asked for a to-go box for later that night or even the next day. Anyway, if it is in your budget, look no further, you’re getting the best of the best!

Words can't truly express how thankful and grateful we are for all of you helping make our wedding weekend everything we dreamed of and more. From the momentous day of saying "yes" to PDC with Fred, to the barrage of email questions and requests from Laura and me over the 18 months, to the Finals meeting with Fred and Santiago, to the drop-off appointment with Dawn and Marta, to the actual wedding...it was all so perfect. To make this email easier to read, I'm going chronologically ;)

Venue
We probably heard this about 50 times from our friends and family..."Oh my god, as we drove down the driveway looking for the place, and made the turn to the front, our jaws dropped when we saw the grounds and chateau for the first time. It was one of the most beautiful venues we've ever been to." We tend to agree :) The weather was extremely cooperative and the day could not have been better for the ceremony to our pictures. It was the perfect setting for our fairytale.

Pre-Wedding
Saturday went off so smoothly. The game room was 10x better than I remember and Laura said that the balcony and entire bridal suite was amazing as she and her bridesmaids got ready. Camila and Vee were the undercover MVP's of the day. As I told Santiago, he's got a special one in Vee. The hospitality and service that she showed throughout the day was incredible. There was one time while we were in the middle of the dance floor and I was about to say to Laura "I think your bustle fell out and it's dragging." I swear to you, before I could open my mouth, I see Vee, on the floor on her knees, pinning Laura's dress up. I couldn't believe it! She was absolutely amazing and we so enjoyed getting to know her.

Wedding
Starting with the rehearsal, we had numerous bridesmaids and groomsmen ask us, "Is Santiago a comedian on the side?" For something that can be confusing with bad directions and boring, our rehearsal was fun, hilarious, and only got everyone more excited about the actual ceremony.

After the ceremony, Laura and I walked back up the aisle and saw Santiago dancing at the top of the steps, so of course we danced right back. Then, he led us to see the amazing Cinderella castle in the cocktail hall and upstairs we went to bustle Laura's dress. The setup of cocktail hour food was incredible and we have not heard the end of it from our guests! Here are some more of our memories and little details that the team executed to perfection:

Vee asking us before our entrance what we wanted for dinner, Laura said "some sushi from cocktail hour" and Santiago literally brings out a sushi boat for the sweetheart table. Our jaws dropped and I honestly started laughing at how amazing this was (went a looong way with family and wedding party).

Vee and Camila bringing us up to our suite at the end of the reception to drop off the envelopes and surprising us with a wild dessert spread with our hashtag and a bottle of Veuve with several mini water bottles. We were blown away!
The staff working the afterparty was unreal! We knew it was going to be fun, but it truly exceeded our expectations. I had a feeling we were going to party past 2am, and at that time, I sent my brother to the bar and the staff left out some beer and tequila which kept the party going. Amazing.
The overall organization of the weekend and knowing where everything was (bouquets, top of the cake, etc).

Thank you so much to the entire PDC team for being such an integral part of our wedding...we will never forget it.

My husband and I got married a month ago (8/24/19) at Pleasantdale Chateau and it was like a fairy tale. We had the time of our lives and the venue is magical. Fred Fogg and Santiago really do everything in their power to make sure you have the most beautiful and stress free wedding day. From the day we booked our wedding date, everything was PERFECT. Everyone was quick to respond to questions and emails. Their attention to detail is impeccable. The service we received was out of this world. The whole event ran like a well-oiled machine. The food was outstanding and over the top (in a good way), the venue is insanely gorgeous, and the hospitality cannot be beaten. Our guests had a fabulous time and still can't stop talking about how amazing everything was from the elaborate cocktail hour to the beautiful grounds to the spectacular ballroom. Our ceremony was outside and it was magnificent. The after party was a perfect way to end a night that we wanted to last forever. Our farewell brunch was also phenomenal. The 30 on-sight rooms are to die for and really make your guests feel like they're on a vacation rather than at a wedding. Fred and his team truly do everything in their power to make your day magnificent and it was much appreciated. We wish we could relive our wedding every weekend! We can't wait to return to Pleasantdale for the Deja vu event in the winter and hopefully for another wedding in the near future. You CANNOT go wrong with this venue, I promise you.

When we started our wedding venue search, the Pleasantdale Chateau was our first stop and it should have been our last. First of all, simply entering the grounds is stunning. We drove up to this breathtaking venue and I already felt like I was in a fairytale. That same weekend we toured other venues, but I knew we were destined to be married at the Pleasantdale. Not only was it beautiful but it would be dedicated to us entirely for 24 hours. I did not want a “bride in, bride out” experience. While other venues were lovely, there was such a high level of service and attention the Pleasantdale offered, which is exactly what I wanted for our wedding day.

Working with Fred, Dawn and Santiago throughout our months of planning could not have gone smoother. While they are incredibly professional and responsive, they are also just fun to work with! We loved the experience of finalizing our menu and the details of the big day. They made me feel completely at ease because they do not miss a beat.

We got married on 11.16.18 and the night before was a nor’easter. No matter what type of weather you get on your big day, rest assured the grounds of the Pleasantdale will still be gorgeous. We arrived at 9am to a winter wonderland. The bridal suite was ready to go with fruit, pastries, champagne and coffee. This was was one of my favorite rooms on the property. It overlooks the ballroom, so it was exciting to see everything being set up. It also has a balcony which overlooks the front grounds. We had two bridal attendants who were always there when you needed them. My husband had his own suite to get ready, and also a game room for the guys to hang out in. They certainly enjoyed themselves.

From there, everything was perfect. The ceremony, the reception, the after party - all amazing. But the #1 hit at our wedding, by far, was the food. Our guests were blown away. Our cocktail hour alone could have fed everyone for the night. No one could believe they were getting dinner as well. And then the desserts. And then the after party menu. It was all SO good!! 9 months later our family and friends are still raving about it.

I also have to mention that the honeymoon suite was GORGEOUS. It was set up after the reception with every dessert, champagne and lots of water. They also allowed us to bring in a karaoke DJ for the after party, which was so much fun. The next morning we had a huge breakfast (in case anyone was still hungry, which they were). It was so nice that the Pleasantdale has guest rooms on the property so we could see most of our out-of-town guests before they left. The attendants once again did a phenomenal job cleaning up the honeymoon suite so we could enjoy our time at breakfast. They had everything packed and ready to go for our departure.

Our wedding was a dream come true and I give so much credit to the Pleasantdale for making that happen. They are the best of the best in the wedding industry and will go above and beyond to make certain you are taken care of on the most important day of your lives. To say our wedding at the Pleasantdale Chateau was a fairytale is an understatement. We had read many raving reviews beforehand, so our expectations were extremely high, but somehow they still managed to completely exceed our expectations. We visited nearly a dozen places first (even Manhattan’s finest venues) but once we stepped foot on the grounds of the Pleasantdale Chateau my fiance and I looked at each other, and we both knew this was the place for us. The grounds, the decor, the architecture, and the character are all equally beautiful, intricate, and impeccable. There simply is no other place like the Pleasantdale. Many other venues felt impersonal, run of the mill, and cookie cutter, but here, they cater and personalize the wedding JUST FOR YOU! Our families are very old school Italian, so we had very specific food requests and high expectations on taste and presentation, and the Pleasantdale “italianized” our wedding to meet our high Italian food standards.

As amazing as the venue, the grounds and the food were, we both agreed that wasn't even the best part about selecting the Pleasantdale Chateau... it’s the staff. The staff goes absolutely above and beyond to make sure the weeks leading up to your wedding and the actual day are as completely stress free as possible. People thought we had a wedding planner, but we just had the Pleasantdale staff to thank :) Fred pushed the standards to ensuring our cocktail hour, dinner menu, and after party food were top notch and unlike any other wedding. Santiago made sure the day ran perfectly and flawlessly. You don't realize all the behind the scenes that goes into executing a massive wedding, but Santiago tackles it all, and doesn't let you down. He even gave the shirt off his back to one of our grandparents when he stained his shirt. And our bridal and groom attendants (shout out to Vera and Jennifer) who were 3 steps ahead of us! They literally changed our shoes for us when we had a sneaker change (as we were eating our dinner). And our bridal party actually got to enjoy themselves and didn’t have to worry about anything because our attendants were so accommodating.

A wedding is a special day, a once in a lifetime event. You want to find the venue that will make it special for you, and that’s why our venue search was over the moment we discovered the Pleasantdale Chateau. We truly had the fairytale, storybook wedding that little girls dream about when there’s not a care in the world. How did we get so lucky?! Our guests are still talking about our wedding a month later and saying it’s the best wedding they've ever been too. Some even said it was better than their own!

Words can’t describe how magical our wedding day was at the Pleasantdale Chateau. From the moment you drive onto the grounds, you are taken back by all the beauty around you. The day my husband and I went to go look at the Pleasantdale, we met with Fred. He was so friendly from the start, wanting to get to know you as a couple. Also, you could tell how passionate he is about his job and wanting to make you the most happy bride and groom. He takes his time to show you the whole Chateau and the grounds, answering any questions you need. He is quick to answer any emails or phone calls anytime of the day. There is no question that you should hesitate to ask because Fred will do anything to make sure you get things the things you envision on your wedding. One example is, my husband and I got married on the 4th of July and I wanted the desserts to have be American themed and he made it happen!

During our planning meeting a month before our wedding we met Santiago, the Maitre’d. Right off the bat he makes you feel like you are his best friend! During the meeting he got to know us and our love for our dogs. He made sure that our dogs could be apart of our day. Santiago makes everything effortless. You have nothing to worry about with the day being in his hands. He loves what he does and will make sure everything goes smoothly. On our wedding day, he was right there whenever you needed something (even when you didn’t even realize you needed something). We wish he could have been an official guest at our wedding, that is how much we got along and enjoyed his company!

The rest of the staff such as Dawn and the bridal attendants were awesome from the start. The service is top of the line. The food is incredible and the atmosphere is breathtaking. Our friends and family won’t stop talking about the wonderful experience they had being a wedding guest. Even some of our older guests who have been to more weddings than they can count said it was the best wedding they have attended. The Pleasantdale staff makes you feel like family. Having a wedding at the Pleasantdale Chateau is a dream come true!

My husband and I had our wedding at Pleasantdale a few weeks ago. The calls from our guests have been endless.
The food was phenomenal and the service was impeccable. My husband and I had our eyes set on a different venue when we were deciding where to get married, but were supposed to have our appointment the day after visiting Pleasantdale. We never made it there. When we walked into Pleasantdale it just took our breath away. We knew it was our place.
Every room has a different feel and style to it, and combined, the chateau is just exquisite. It was exactly the vibe we were looking for and struggled to find elsewhere. Fred was fantastic, accommodating, a true professional. Everything we asked for he made happen. He genuinely wanted to make us the happiest bride and groom. Working with Pleasantdale was seamless. Fred advised us on vendors, menu selection, and all the little details along the way. He was always available and eager to help in any way possible.
Last, but not least, Santiago. Oh my, there are not enough words to describe this literal angel. Santiago is the true star of Pleasantdale. When we first met at our menu meeting I knew I was going to love this man. He was on top of EVERYTHING and even though we had a planner, he was invaluable. On the day of the wedding he made everything seamless, and every time I turned my head he was by my side to help with anything and everything. What I'm most grateful for is how he helped with my elderly grandparents. He was there to assist them and ensured that we didn't have to stress about them. Santiago, you are a rare gem.
Lastly, I should mention the access you are given to the Chateau. My close family members and friends spent the night with us at the beautiful Chateau and had a delicious breakfast there the next morning. It just kept the wonderful experience going and is not something you get with every venue.
All in all, I can't imagine that there is another wedding venue that compares to Pleasantdale. The food (so much food), the service, the ambiance, the attentiveness is simply unparalleled. Honestly, all of our wedding dreams came true here.
PS - We are still getting calls from all our friends and family about the truffle mac and cheese from the mac and cheese station at the afterparty!

We just had our wedding at Pleasantdale Chateau and it was one of the best days of our lives. My husband and I live in NYC and when we were looking at wedding venues, we specifically wanted a place that was highly unique, with beautiful grounds and outdoor charm. We visited a total of 21 venues in New Jersey and Long Island and we fell in love with Pleasantdale Chateau on our first visit. The venue is so gorgeous, with the outdoor areas that include the little creek and bridge. The inside is even more beautiful, with each room having its own unique vibe and charm. I especially loved the greenhouse, music room, blue room, and the ballroom.

The only thing that's more amazing than the venue itself is the staff that works so hard to make the Pleasantdale experience a spectacular one. When it comes to weddings and wedding planning, it's the little details that really count and Pleasantdale really gets things right. The staff members went above and beyond to accommodate all our requests and answer all our questions in a timely manner. Every person we interacted with was the consummate professional - knowledgeable, kind, patient, and sincere. To Fred, Santiago, Dawn, Marta, Christine, Camila, Leslie, and many others, you are all amazing and we can't thank you enough for making our big day so special and wonderful.

In addition to the Pleasantdale staff, the preferred vendors we worked with were just as wonderful! We used Pleasantdale's preferred photographer, videographer, DJ and musician, florist, lighting designer, and transportation vendor and everyone was so professional and kind. They are true experts in their fields and complement Pleasantdale so well. Pleasantdale has truly assembled an amazing team of preferred vendors and this goes to show how much they care about the overall holistic experience for its couples.

In terms of the actual wedding experience, our guests raved about how beautiful the venue was and how amazing the food was. The cocktail hour was insane and people were blown away by how much food there was and how everything tasted so delicious. Many of our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever attended and the best food they had ever had at a wedding. It was worth every penny we paid and I would recommend this venue a million times and more to couples looking to get married.

Pleasantdale has set the bar so high in terms of weddings, for us and our guests. We are so appreciative for everything you've done for us. Thank you so much!!!

If I could give the Pleasantdale more than 5 stars, I would. We went to view the venue and immediately knew this was where we had to get married. From the history, to the architecture, to the uniqueness in the experience they provide, there is no other choice but the Pleasantdale. Fred, Santiago, and team went above and beyond to ensure our wedding day not only ran smoothly, but that we had nothing to worry about the day of. Personal attendants, extensive delectable menu choices, you name it and the Pleasantdale delivers.

My husband and I were married at Pleasantdale Chateau a few weeks ago and cannot say enough great things about the entire Pleasantdale team and the service they provide. All the reviews on here are 100% accurate... Pleasantdale is truly the best of the best in the event/wedding industry - the staff is beyond compare. From the second I arrived on my wedding day, my bridal consultant (hi Vira!) was there to greet me and stuck by my side the ENTIRE day. She anticipated my EVERY need and saved the day countless times (from helping me to fix my hair and my veil, assisting me to and from the limo in the rain and during pictures outside in the rain, keeping me hydrated throughout the day, bustling my dress PERFECTLY and in record time, and keeping me calm throughout the entire day like a personal therapist), Vira was simply THE BEST and I honestly cannot imagine having gotten through the day without her! (Also props to Lessly for her help as well!) And who can forget Santiago and Fred? Both amazing and absolute pros. My mom said Santiago kept checking in with her throughout the wedding to make sure she and my grandma (who is 93) were ok (before the wedding Santiago never met my mom or grandma and took it upon himself to look over them during the reception, which my mother greatly appreciated; he even offered to punch another hole in my grandma's shoe strap because she mentioned it was loose). I could go on and on, but basically, everyone at Pleasantdale is who you would hope them to be in planning and producing the wedding of your dreams. My husband and I literally said to one another as we were driving home after our wedding that we couldn't imagine how people got married anywhere else (knowing that Pleasantdale's service is second to none and having just experienced it first hand).

Your money is well spent at Pleasantdale; if it's in your budget... DO IT. I promise you will NOT regret it.

My wife (still weird saying that) and I got married at the Pleasantdale on January 18 2019. After first seeing the place, meeting Fred and his staff several times, reading others reviews, the bar was set extraordinarily high, the hype was legitimately at Flavor Flav levels and yet exceeded all expectations. The place itself, the way the handle their business is different from every other venue. You are not handed a menu and packages when you arrive, food is seasonal and the menu changes. Nothing is cookie cutter, the entire experience is catered to your specific wants and needs and i assume no two parties are really alike.

I myself am a foodie and bonded with Fred a year before the wedding over our discussion about passion for all things culinary. He remembered this when it was time to pick out our menu and worked with us to craft the most incredible spread any of my friends and family had ever seen at any wedding or special event before. People are still talking about the cocktail hour. My advise, put your trust in Fred when it comes to the food.

Santiago, the staff, our attendants, the incredible servers round out a team perhaps only rivaled by the golden state warriors or the patriots. They were incredibly pleasant to work with, incredibly attentive to not just our needs but all of our wants and were meticulous in helping put on a the party that we had envisioned. We could not be more happy with the results.

They made our night incredibly memorable for us, our friends and our family and for that we are forever grateful.

My husband and I were married here on December 7th, 2018. Residing in Texas, we did not have the luxury of visiting with vendors at our leisure. We performed thorough reseach, narrowed it down to our favorites, booked appointments at 6 venues, flew to New Jersey where we met with each, all in the same day. In my opinion, it's the absolute best way to shop because all of the details of each venue is fresh. Each of them was nice in their own way, however, The Pleasantdale was our final stop, and blew all others out of the water! Not only was The Pleasantdale Chateau in a category all-its-own, the knowledge, thoroughness, & detailed tour with Fred Fogg was unlike any other. He just knew EVERYTHING and easily answered any and all questions we had. We booked almost immediately, and I am so thankful that we did!!! They were on top of every little detail!!!
Leading up to the wedding, we corresponded with Dawn a lot and, she too, was fabulous to work with. She always got back to us at lightning speed, even replying on her off days!
Much closer to the wedding, we met in person once more and had the pleasure of working with Santiago. Another amazing member of the Pleasantdale family. He was able to walk us through our wedding day, the food, the arrangements, the timing. He was able to guide us and advise us regarding the menu and was just wonderful to work with. Between Fred, Santiago, and Dawn, our entire experience was seamless from beginning to end. I must have emailed Fred a million times, and each time I heard back instantly.

I sincerely LOVE the Pleasantdale Family. They are so professional and on top of everything, but still so personable and just a joy to work with!

Our Wedding Day:
From the beginning, it was incredible. The bridal suite was all set up. Orange juice, champagne, coffee, fresh fruit was prepared for my bridal party. Plentiful space for all of the gals to spread out, relax, take turns on make-up & hair. They had the most wonderful bridal attendant, Alyssa, helping with anything and everything I needed. She even layed out my dress, vail, and shoes so the photographer could capture some incredible shots. During picture she was constantly helping with my cathedral veil and long train. It would have been so time consuming, had I needed to get sorted all on my own. You really don't consider these details, however, The Pleasantdale Chateau is obviously well versed & experienced in every aspect of your wedding day. My husband also had a wonderful bridal attendant; pleasant, experienced, and skilled. She was able to tie bowties for all of the groomsmen & was simply on top of everything, to ensure the photos were great!
They want so much for your day to be incredible and literally take care of as much as possible so that you can remain at ease, to soak in the most amazing day of your life!

The Food:
Hands down the most phenominal food you will ever have. If wedding venues were able to receive Michelin Stars, The Pleasantdale would take the cake! The cocktail hour dishes & the sit down dinner were absolutely remarkable. Having been to a number of weddings, this is the very first venue I have ever been to that has served up restaurant quality dishes every single time. We had so many guests approach us to let us know just how incredible the food was! My husband and I both cook very well at home, often enjoy some of the greatest restaurants in Houston, and ,WOW, we were just so impressed with the taste, quality, and absolute perfection.

During the wedding, after the wedding, via call, text, email, and Facebook, many of our guest reiterated, over and over, about how much they enjoyed every bit of our wedding. We even received a card from one of our family members, thanking us for the invite as they "had never seen anything like it".
If you are looking to have a one-of-a-kind, magical, unforgettable, picturesque, fairytale wedding, I highly reccommend having your wedding day at The Pleasantdale Chateau. I loved every bit of my wedding day and cannot envision spending all of my beautiful memories anywhere else. It was truly remarkable! The Pleasantdale team is remarkable! It's the most beautiful place I have ever seen & is a photographers dream. We were blessed with great weather, however, if we ended up with a rainstorm, our photos would have still been spectacular. There is so much history and character within all of the rooms at this venue. Simply breathtaking everywhere you look!

This review is long overdue given our wedding was in November 2017 but better late than never.
From the moment we drove up the long driveway leading to Pleasantdale I knew we had found our wedding venue. It was the first and last venue we saw! Fred Fogg was the manager that we worked with to secure our date more than a year in advance of our wedding date. For the full year of planning he was our point of contact answering any questions we had promptly and with the utmost patience. A few months before the wedding we were introduced to Santiago Sevilla. Santi is a miracle worker to say the very least. He is Director of Operations and Head Maitre D' but is so much more that that. He oversees every little detail to ensure everything discussed prior to the wedding comes to fruition. In addition to being in 10 places at the same time he somehow manages to still be by the bride's side to provide a hug, or a laugh to calm nerves. I cannot speak highly enough of Santi.
The team at Pleasantdale goes way above and beyond to accommodate any special requests or needs so that your special day is customized to fit the couple - I truly believe there is no other venue that can come close to the service, professionalism, and care that Pleasantdale provides not only to the couple but the immediate family. The bride and groom are each assigned an attendant as well as the parents of the bride and groom. As the bride, I was given Dominique, Camila and Vira - these girls felt like family by the time our 2 day stay was over. They worked tirelessly and seamlessly so that every little detail was taken care of. They truly made me feel like a princess! Any stress that I arrived at Pleasantdale with for our wedding weekend instantly melted away once I was in the hands of these extremely caring individuals. There is literally nothing you need to worry about as the bride and groom!
Aside from the high quality service, the venue itself is straight out of a fairy-tale. For a moment you will forget that you are in New Jersey - the grounds are absolutely breath taking and so meticulously cared for. We visited Pleasantdale a number of times before our wedding to meet with Fred and Santiago and each time the chateau took my breath away. The food is top notch and our guests can't stop raving about the variety provided for our cocktail hour and sit down dinner.
I am forever grateful for the experience that was provided to us by the team at Pleasantdale. I cannot give them enough accolades for the high quality service they provide in every category. If Pleasantdale is on your list of potential venues I would say look no further! In my experience there is no venue that will give you the beautiful (stress-free) memories that Pleasantdale can.

When my wife and I decided to get married at the Pleasantdale Chateau, we knew that we were about to embark on a magical adventure! As a same-sex couple together for 19 years & wanting to experience the wedding of our dreams, the staff at Pleasantdale treated us with love, making us feel very special & at home! Our first tour of the castle can only be described as captivating & magical! Fred, Santiago, Dawn & their staff guided us through every aspect of planning our dream wedding, from picking out each item on the menu, setting up every room perfectly, and even creating two bridal suites so we both had a magical bridal experience! Every wish and desire we had was carefully executed, leaving us to worry about nothing! From the moment our guests arrived, they were greeted with the utmost class, whisked away to the side gardens, where we were married by the creek. Then it was onto the most elaborate cocktail hour with endless gourmet foods that wrapped from inside the great room all through the hallways of the castle. Guests were immersed in everything from Sacchettoni in cream sauce to the Italian Mozzarella Bar! Next, guests were escorted to the stunning ballroom for a night of amazing music, romantic atmosphere and exquisite service from a staff that treated each guest as family. As the party continued, guests were lead into another section of the castle for an after-party to dance the night away! The overnight rooms with their French cottage charm ended the night with warmth, engraving this unforgettable night in their hearts! Our guests were awoken to a spectacular breakfast overlooking the gardens, while still entranced in a magical journey. Words cannot describe how incredible this venue is. The minute you pull up to the grounds, you feel like you have been transported into a fairytale setting. I can go on and on about the picturesque grounds for days! The gardens are simply stunning and the greenery is so well kept. As you walk along the property, you will find surprises at every turn- beautiful bridges, a romantic gazebo, ponds, and gorgeous flowers make up this scenic chateau. Before even setting foot inside the door, you know you are at a very special place. The inside of this chateau is absolutely magnificent. The ornate details, high ceilings, and breathtaking staircases are a sight to be seen! There are so many rooms and each one is more beautiful than the next. The greenhouse is filled with seasonal flowers and plants making for the most perfect phot-op. Every corner in this place is a phot op actually! Even the tile is exquisite! My husband and I didn’t even get half way through the tour when we knew we wanted to book our wedding here! Fred Fogg showed us around the place and we booked the date on the spot! We were married there on December 2, 2017. The ballroom has beautiful high dome ceilings and it’s seriously a ballroom fit for royalty. Fred and his staff are the epitome of excellence in service! On the day of our wedding, Chris and I did not have to worry about one thing. The staff at the Pleasantdale is simply the best of the best- EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. OF. THEM. Santiago took care of our every need and truly made us feel like family. Suzie, Dawn, Dominique, Kattya, and everyone else that helped us during planning and on the day of were just incredible. The level of service is beyond anything I could have ever imagined. The food is just as amazing as the scenery! my guests were super impressed with the abundance of food at cocktail hour and we’re raving about how delicious it was. The desserts were Incredible and our cake was delicious! The after party food was also out of this world!!

Are there words left to describe how amazing this venue is?! My husband and I were married at Pleasantdale on July 2, 2017, and I can't sing the team's praises highly enough. Fred, Santiago and their team create magical experiences that leave imprints on everyone who gets the good fortune of being a part of them.

Our wedding day was so special start to finish, and that is because they run the tightest ship anyone could ever hope to be on. (The Titanic would not have sunk if Fred and his team were in charge.) Truly, there was not a moment that was not anticipated, nor a hair out of place. Before my wedding, friends kept telling me "expect for things not to run perfectly, but try not to get caught up in that, it's all about what comes after, etc. etc." HA! They did not have their wedding at Pleasantdale, that is for sure. Everything was literally perfect (and if it wasn't, I certainly wasn't aware of it).

The food was spectacular, the venue immaculate (you can't take a bad picture here), and the attendants were delightful (and incredibly attentive). Each vendor they recommended (if this is a route you want to go) was better than the next. Which leaves me with the food. I have received countless messages about how full my guests still are, but how they wish they could go back for more, and dream of everything from the Peking Duck rolls to the pulled mozz bar, to of course, the lamb chops.

All of this to say, other venues do not hold a candle to PC. It is a truly special place and the industry experts they have in place ensure you have the most seamless and stress-free wedding planning experience you or your family could ever hope to have. They are worth every penny, and you will immediately be part of the PC family. I can't say anything nicer about our experience or everyone we worked with. Perfection start to finish. You won't regret it!!!

SIMPLY OUTSTANDING. I really cannot adequately articulate how storybook, fairytale PERFECT our wedding day was. We were married at the Pleasantdale on June 3rd, 2017, and from the first moment we arrived on the property (nearly 2 years earlier), to the actual day itself, we had the most extraordinary experience working with the team at Pleasantdale. It is this incredible team of people at Pleasantdale that makes it THE best wedding venue, hands down. The service, attention to detail, and execution is absolutely INCREDBLE. Add to this the breathtaking aesthetic of the estate, the phenomenal menu, and wonderful accommodations – and you have just absolute perfection. Everything we could have ever needed, wanted, and then some, was taken care of by the Pleasantdale staff – often without us even having to think about it. We have received so many compliments about our wedding – people have unanimously agreed that it was THE BEST wedding they had ever been to. It was beyond worth every penny we spent. We worked with Fred Fogg from our initial visit, throughout the entire planning process, and just cannot say enough about how thorough and helpful Fred was to us – he really helped us to craft our absolute dream wedding day. Leading up to the wedding, and on the day itself, we had the pleasure of working with Santiago, the maître d’ – he is truly the “secret” behind what makes Pleasantdale so amazing. I don’t know that I have ever met someone who is as passionate about their work as Santiago – he put his heart and soul into making our day absolute perfection, and it truly was. Fred, Santiago, Dominique, Veronica, Dawn, and the rest of the team – thank you does not even come close to describing how truly grateful we are for giving us the wedding of our dreams. Every single girl dreams of her wedding day, but none of my dreams could have ever prepared me for our wedding here on May 12.As we pulled up the long drive-way, we forgot we were in NJ for a moment, and we knew we HAD to get married here- we never saw anything like this place! Throughout the tour, just walking around the chateau, you felt like you were in a fairytale. Throughout the planning process, Fred, Dawn and the rest of the staff were amazing to us. However, Santiago, our maitre d, stole the show. I instantly fell in love with him, and he made sure every single last detail was perfect the day of our wedding! Every bride needs a Santiago in their life! Everyone was so professional, and organized. The day of our wedding, my husband and I felt like royalty. Getting married here, we expected the best, but everything exceeded our expectations -by a million. My husband and I were each assigned an assistant for the day, who literally made sure we had everything we needed, before we could even ask for it! The entire wedding was pure perfection, and every single guest told us this was by far the best wedding they ever attended! Coming from an italian family, I knew the food was super important, and my entire family was blown away. The night of our wedding, our suite had a bottle of champagne, pieces of our wedding cake, and a tray of all the desserts waiting for us. They even remembered by husband and I were high school sweethearts and wrote “class of 2008” on our plates! We also had a 2 hour after party here, and a breakfast the morning after, and like the wedding, the food and service were perfection. If you do not want to have to worry about ONE thing the day of your wedding then PDC is the perfect place for you ! I am not sure any other venue could compete with this place! All it takes is for you to visit this place to realize how magical and perfect it truly is. We will forever be grateful for being able to have our fairytale wedding here.

My husband and I were married at the Pleasantdale Chateau on April 28, 2017. From the moment we drove up to the Pleasantdale Chateau, I knew it was a special and magical place. When we walked in, my now husband and family were so taken back by how beautiful the venue is. We then met with Laura who was an absolute dream to talk to and work with. She answered all of our questions and hundreds of emails- always with a smile. She truly helped to make my dream wedding a reality. The morning of the wedding, I walked into the venue and met Lesley and Dominique- who were the bride and groom attendants that day. These two women were sent from heaven to make our wedding day even more perfect. No matter where we went or what we needed that day, they were standing there ready to go. Then there is Santiago the maitre’d, although he is so much more than that. He made sure everything ran smooth and perfect that day- and was a true professional. Every person we encountered through the Pleasandate Chateau was so kind and wonderful to work with. The food was incredible- a month later, and our friends and family are still talking about our wedding. I would highly recommend the Pleasantdale Chateau to anyone and everyone!

There’s so much that can be said about the Pleasantdale Chateau and why a couple should get married there. But I think all it really takes is going to see it to understand why. Because that’s all it took for us. It was the first place we saw, and it was the only place we needed to see after that. Fred Fogg took us around to show us the grounds and we fell in love. We thought we wanted to get married in NYC, but after seeing PDC, that thought was completely wiped away. But having now gone through the experience of having our wedding there, that feeling is only further reinforced 100 times over. We’ve never been married before, but we can’t imagine many places, if any, would come close to what we experienced. And not necessarily because of the venue itself, and how tastefully elegant it is, or how stunning the grounds are, or perfectly private it is, but because of the people. The people at PDC are the sole reason to get married there. When we say they treat you like a king and queen for a day, we truly mean it. It was beyond anything we could have imagined it would be, how they were at our beckon call for absolutely anything and everything we needed the entire day. Each of us had our own personal attendant (Camilla, Dominique, Leslie) who were within reaching distance whenever we needed them, and with how hot it was the day we got married, we were so lucky to have them give us water and towels and everything in between while we got ready and took pictures. And that level of service lasted throughout the entire night.

But before our wedding day even came, the impeccable service had already begun to take place. Dawn was our main point of contact leading up to the wedding, answering any and all questions we may have had, coordinating all meetings or drop offs, and always doing so extremely quickly, showing us the kind of attention that made us feel like we were in great hands. My husband and I had our wedding at the chateau on Sept 26, 2015. It was by far the best day of our entire lives and all of our guests can not believe the event that we had! Obviously the venue speaks for itself, it is stunningly beautiful but the service we got was beyond amazing. Santiago and his team are an absolute dream to work with. Our attendants did not leave our sides all day and met every need we had. Even our bridal party and family members got the same treatment. We had 1 hiccup with our bus transportation from the hotel where guests were staying and Santiago was right on top of it, making sure my parents did not have to deal with anything (and this was not even part of his job). The food was to die for!!! We had the opportunity to make some menu changes with Fred just a few weeks before the wedding. He offered several new ideas to us and we took them all! We added the whole lobster bar station for cocktail hour and I think it may have been the single best investment of the entire wedding. It was incredible and guests are still talking about it. The passed mini desserts were so elegant and delicious. Our after party and bunch the next morning were perfect as well. Delicious food and more than accommodating attendants. I would recommend Pleasantdale Chateau to anyone and everyone wanting an elegant, custom wedding:)

I had the wedding of my dreams and it was all thanks to the friendly and professional staff at Pleasantdale (especially Laura!). The Pleasantdale Chateau was an amazing venue to have our wedding in May. Between the service, grounds, and food, everyone said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. We added the after hours option to our night so if people were hungry after dancing we were served all the essentials (pigs in a blanket, disco fries, pizza bagels, wings, etc.), along with a continuation of the open bar.

I was hesitant and a little upset when I found out about their no tasting policy but ALL of the food including our wedding cake was out of this world. My husband and I keep saying we hope we are invited to a wedding their so we can experience it all over again. The staff was incredible and they were willing to do anything and everything to make the day amazing. Most notably, Santiago was always quick to respond during the planning process. On our wedding day, he was there to meet us on our arrival and took care of everything until the night was over. He and everyone else at the Pleasantdale think of everything beforehand to make sure you don't have to.

I would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone who can get a date!

We celebrated our daughter Lauren’s wedding at the Pleasantdale Chateau on August 29, 2015. From the first day we visited the venue and saw the magnificent mansion and gorgeous grounds, we knew that was where we wanted to have Lauren and John’s wedding and we were so excited about planning their wedding there. We had very high expectations about how the wedding would turn out. Well, the Pleasantdale Chateau far exceeded our expectations in every way possible and we had the most wonderful and memorable experience you could ever imagine.
On our first visit we met Laura Madden who is the Senior Catering Sales Manager. She spent time describing the wedding experience there, giving us a detailed tour of the property, and reviewing other pertinent information such as date availability and financial terms. Laura was organized, articulate and very friendly and warm – she was the consummate professional. She was the person who was there every step of the way during the time we planned the wedding. Since there is only one wedding at a time at the Pleasantdale Chateau, we had exclusive use of the mansion for the entire day and evening. On the day of the wedding the bridal party and some family arrived early. Laura and her wonderful staff were there to meet us and stayed the entire day to make sure things went as planned. After a beautiful and picturesque outdoor ceremony our guests were brought back into the Chateau for the reception. The cocktail hour had an abundance of delicious food and drinks and our guests socialized throughout the mansion. The reception and dinner, which was held in their magnificent ballroom, was well run and flowed perfectly. Many of our guests told us that this was the best wedding they ever attended. They absolutely loved the mansion and its grounds. They also loved the food and said the service was exceptional. We are so happy we chose the Pleasantdale Chateau and are truly indebted to Laura and the entire Pleasantdale staff.

We got married at Pleasantdale on August 8. During our planning period Andrew was replaced by Fred Fogg as the event/catering director. Fred offered us what we had already discuss with Andrew but also presented some of his ideas and new visions. We trusted him with everything he recommended and he over delivered. Meeting with Fred and Santiago to discuss some of the changes/upgrades we could add to the event was a little nerve wracking, but we gave them the ball and let them run with it. I am so happy and grateful we trusted Fred with his new ideas and visions for the PC. His ideas are novel, fun, and memorable. Fred listens to your ideas and looks for ways to make them happen as opposed to finding reasons why they can't. You could have your wedding ther and attend another and it could feel like two spectacular, albeit, different events. However some things that will remain consistent are the food being EXCELLENT and WAY above "wedding food par" they honestly need their own category it's so good, the service: you will feel like a superstar on the day of your wedding, and the detail-orientated nature of staff will put you at ease because they literally have everything covered before you even think of it.

Our maitre'd was Santiago who has been with Pleasantdale for over 10 years. I can't begin to explain how on point he was from start to finish and covered every detail precisely. Santiago's staff of bridal attendants were also amazing Veronica and Leslie were beyond attentive, friendly, and accommodating. I truly felt like this was the best day of my life and and I owe it all to the Pleasantdale Chateau staff. Of course the venue is breathtaking enough the staff actually exceeded our expectations. I know everyone thinks they have the best wedding ever, but if you want to ENSURE that, have it at the Pleasantdale, it is a remarkable place with a one-of-a-kind staff. This will continue to be the PREMIER wedding venue in the Tri-State area.

To say our wedding was a dream come true at the Pleasantdale Chateau is an understatement. Both my groom and I were greeted by our bridal attendants, whom we had the entire day. Veronica, my attendant, was amazing. The bridal party arrived at 7:am and Veronica was there with an amazing wide smile ,helping with the makeup, hair and pre-wedding procedures. Someone from the staff was always present and available, when needed. Whatever minor "issues" arose , disappeared immediately.Santiago,our Maître d, was totally wonderful. His ability to maintain calmness while guiding the bridal party, parents ,and grandparents through the rehearsal and the actual walk down the aisle was accomplished with professionalism and levity. The cocktail hour food was scrumptious,delicious,abundant,and presented with flair. The staff served generously, with a smile. Guest plates were overflowing and I actually heard a guest "complain" that the drinks are too "strong",lol.The banquet was exquisite, my only complaint, the time flew by too quickly. The staff was just magnificent! Texts & calls we have been getting just rave on, and on, how smoothly each aspect of the evening segued together. Accommodations, for those of us that stayed overnight after the wedding, were spacious, clean and comfortable. My wedding at Pleasantdale Chateau was a dream come true! I never really had all of the details of my wedding planned out, but after being a guest at a wedding there one year prior to getting engaged, I knew that it was where I wanted to have my own. This venue is STUNNING!!!!! My brother got married on Sunday and had about 200 guests. The staff made sure every guest had what they needed. Santiago, the manager/Maitre D', made my brother and his wife feel like royalty. The outdoor space made the photos and the indoor space had gorgeous character. Everything was close by. The guests didn't have to walk far from the ceremony to cocktail hour to the reception to the bathroom or anything. Having a baby that helped me a lot since I had everything in a room upstairs. Lior, one of our waiters, was so professional and accommodating. Jaylina and Lesly were with the bride and bridal party and made sure they were happy. I was just the groom's sister and I asked for everything from crazy glue to bed sheets (for my baby) and they were all right there for us. Our guests raved about this venue! Get married here... You won't regret it!

The Pleasantdale is a timeless venue that marries being in a castle and your own cosy mansion. The cocktail hour is hosted among the various rooms of the Pleasantdale with more than enough chairs and tables instead of being in an oversized, cramped room with no place to go. The ballroom doesn't look like every other ballroom with harsh uplighting but more romantic with a candlelit feel. The Pleasantdale also offers an after party and morning after breakfast that was just as delicious as the night before. You are able to stumble back to your room as your room is merely steps away from the party.

If there is anyone in this business who knows what he's doing it's Andrew Kronengold. From the second he toured us around the property down to the very last hug and handshake the day after our wedding he catered to every email and call with professionalism and promptness and boy does he know his food! His staff treated us like royalty from the moment we stepped off the bus. The infamous Santiago coordinated the entire event flawlessly. My attendant Natasha and her assistant made sure I had EVERYTHING I could possibly need or want every step of the way. The entire staff made me feel like the princess I dreamed of being on my wedding day. You cannot beat that type of service.

Our wedding was nearly 3 weeks ago an the rave reviews are still pouring in. They are raving about everything - the food, the venue, the accommodations, absolutely everything. We had our wedding at the Pleasantdale Chateau on New Year's Eve wedding. Leading up to the wedding my mom and I were in constant contact with Andrew and he was always very responsive and accommodating with anything that we wanted for the wedding. After the ceremony at the Church we went back to the Pleasantdale and for the cocktail hour my husband and I were taken to the bridal suite and we were brought up one of EVERYTHING in the cocktail hour to taste! Then after we finished we went downstairs to see the cocktail hour in full effect and greet our guests so it was the best of both worlds! During the cocktail hour as we were greeting our guests they all kept saying how truly beautiful the Pleasantdale was. Food was scattered throughout the place so the guests could walk around and eat and not have to all be stuffed in one room and there were plenty of spots to sit and eat so the guests didn't have to stand up eating. The service was incredible- when we received feedback from our friends and family one of the things that kept coming up was how they loved that every time they were even close to finishing their drinks, a fresh new drink would appear before they were even finished! Then after the night, Steve and I went back to our room to find in our kitchen area that the table was set with two plates and each had all of the dessert from the wedding that we chose and an ice bucket with champagne and two champagne glasses! So we sat down at the table and ate dessert and talked about the wedding and it was so nice and such a great memory of the end of the night for us! I loved everything about the Pleasantdale Chateau from the ambiance and the charm of the place; to Andrew, Santiago, Leslie, Yanna and the rest of the staff; to the food; the service and how they made such an effort to make everything so special for us- it felt like we were millionaires hosting this big New Year's Eve event for our family and friends at our estate!

My fiancé, Kris, and I shared a magical, storybook wedding at The Pleasantdale Chateau on Friday, September 13, 2013. The Chateau is stunning. The grounds are beautifully manicured and maintained regularly with seasonal flowers and greenery. The stage is set when you arrive to the Chateau, as you fall in love driving down the entryway road as you approach the mansion.

We had the privilege of working with Andrew, the Director of Catering at the Pleasantdale Chateau. Andrew set the tone for professionalism, captured the "i" in detail and with every promise he delivered...above and beyond. Working in the industry and planning weddings and other events I had always been familiar with the Pleasantdale Chateau. It is the one place you look at and think "THAT is where I want to have my wedding." And it is true, the Pleasantdale Chateau IS where you should you have your wedding. The team there truly cares about creating a day that is everything you dreamed of and more. Staff is attending to the bridal party, the parents and all of your guests. You feel like the only bride that ever walked through their doors.

It was an honor to finally meet Santiago, the acclaimed Maitre'd and Banquet Director, whom I have always heard so much about. I was honored that he was taking care of my wedding. Santiago orchestrated the reception and ensured the flow of courses and the overall experience within the ballroom was seamless…and yes, it was simply perfect.

Andrew understood the items that were a priority including my sister's gluten sensitivity, having celiac disease. He took care of this with the most extreme precaution, understanding that there was no room for error. Andrew assured us of his attention to this and he did not let us down.

WOW!!! The Pleasantdale Chateau was the 12th venue I went to look at. Once I arrived on the property, I knew that I had found the spot! Throughout the planning process, I was fortunate enough to work with Andrew. His professionalism, knowledge and experience in the catering business is apparent throughout the ENTIRE process. People were amazed at how calm I was the day of the wedding (as was I!). However, this is simply because I was so confident in the staff at The Chateau and my other vendors. Needless to say, the day was flawless! Our two bridal attendants were amazingly nice and accommodating. Santiago had everything running smoothly as our maitre d' and Andrew even stuck around until the main course was served. Some brides may worry that because of the price tag and reputation of the Pleasantdale Chateau, that there is a certain "snootiness." However, my guests and I were greeted with nothing but a warm and polite attitude. The food is incredible. I can't believe how many rave reviews we received. Just because of the culinary reviews, I am dying to attend a wedding there as a guest so I can really indulge! Our guests continue to tell us that our wedding was the best they have ever been to and I firmly believe that this is because of the Pleasantdale Chateau and their amazing staff. Words can't even begin to describe how amazing our wedding was at the Pleasantdale Chateau. The service was impeccable, the food was beyond words and the entire place was like being in a Fairy Tale. Our wedding planner, Laura Madden was amazing to work with. She was kind, patient, and make our entire planning process and wedding day, a breeze. If you can request to work with her, DO IT! We felt like the prince and princess of the ball, and were really treated like royalty. We are still hearing, (and thinking), about all of the amazing food that was served at our wedding, and how beautiful the Chateau was. I couldn't imagine our wedding being any better, or having it at any other place. Everything went smoothly and we were really able to sit back and enjoy our day knowing that we were in goods hands at the Pleasantdale!

Pleasantdale Chateau helped us turn our dream wedding into a reality! Andrew and his staff are absolutely amazing and they really give meaning to going above and beyond. They think of every possible detail to review with you before the wedding, and are there every step of the day on the day off!! We couldn't be happier with our choice. The guests haven't stopped raving about the location, facilities, service, and the food. Would highly recommend Pleasantdale to anyone looking to host any event big or small! LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!

The wedding of our dreams. Andrew and his team were wonderful. Every detail was taken care of. Follow up was awesome throughout the 1 year of our planning. Food was incredible, and of course the venue is beautiful.
The day exceeded our expectations, and they made the planning a pleasure.

I can't say enough good things about the Pleasantdale!! The venue is unbelievable - the gorgeous house, the beautiful grounds and gardens, the cozy B&B-style rooms - you'll never want to leave! The food is phenomenal - our guests are still talking about it. But to me the icing on the cake was the incredible staff at the Pleasantdale. What wonderful, sweet, amazing people to surround yourself with leading up to the biggest event of your life!! Laura is wonderful to work with and was such tremendous help leading up to the wedding. On the day, she and Santiago made everything run so smoothly. I also had Natasha by my side the entire day up to the ceremony and she was just incredible. Any bride who is lucky enough to work with the Pleasantdale will be in great hands. If you're considering this as a place to get married, STOP LOOKING! :)

I can not say more than enough about this venue! The Pleasantdale Chateau goes above and beyond there services to make your day the most memorable event. I had the best Matre D and she was so pleasant to work with . Anything we needed they provided and they make you feel so at ease there. As soon as we got there on our wedding day we were helped right until the very end. We really felt like a Queen and King for a day. They are extremly proffesional and make the wedding run smoothly. All our guest said it was the best wedding that they had ever been too!! Everyone loved the food, staff and quality of service. Even the children were treated with great service! Everyone complemented on the amount of food and how great all the food tasted. I have nothing bad to say about the Pleasantdale Chateau, we loved it!!

We were just married at the Pleasantdale in September and words can not describe this venue..you just have to be luckly enough to experience an event there. Everything one could dream of is provided at the drop of a hat. The food, grounds, service...magnificiant. Every detail exceeded our expectation and I can only hope that we will be able to attend a wedding there again in the future since the night went by so fast. All of the guests that attended our wedding made the same statement...."best wedding ever!"

I would highly recommend Pleasantdale Chateau to everybody, because you get exceptional service in every respect. They prooved to be honest and highly professional. After staying overnight in Bridal Suite I forgot my make-up organizer where I left all my jewelry and a 5.27 karat diamond which was a gift from my grandma the day before. After cleaning up the room they called me and told me that I forgot my make up there. I was very close to fainting. I came there in about 2 hours and my organizer was waiting for me untouched.

The pleasantdale chateau gave me a wedding that I never even dreamed of. Everything was perfect. I was a very laid back bride and basically let them do what they wanted and everything came out beautiful. The food was outrageous and so was the service. The place is absolutely breathtaking. They suprised me by putting together an amazing after party! My friends and family all say they are spoiled after this wedding, no other place could compare to the pleasantdale!

The venue was just exquisite and all my guests were blown away. The Music Room was the perfect place for the ceremony and the ballroom was awesome for the recption. I loved throwing the bouqet from the Juliet balcony.

Now about the food . . . YUM! People loved the overabundance of food at the cocktail hour and the desserts were insane.

I can't believe I was married in this mansion last weekend! It was just incredible!!!

The Chateau was amazing-wonderful-elegant- beautiful- a dream come true....I cannot say enough words to describe what an incredibly lovely job they did. From the first moment we toured the Chateau (and fell in love with it) to the last minute we wrapped the wedding up and began our honeymoon.... we were treated like Kings and Queens, every question answered, every need met, the Pleasantdale is more costly than most...but worth every penny.

We spent a lot of money for our wedding but it was so worth it. We got married on March 28. Our wedding has been called one of the best ever by our guests. People loved the visually stunning Pleasantdale Chateau. It really is stunning and picturesque. On the day of our wedding, we were treated like royalty by their very professional staff. Kudos to Santiago, Ivellise and Etta. Our coordinator was Andrew Kronengold. he is a very professional and knowledgeable gentleman who made sure everything worked out accordingly.
The food was just amazing. And you MUST do the viennese display. Visually it was stunning, and your taste buds will not be disappointed.
If you want a dream wedding, this place is worth every penny you spend on it.

Our experience with the Pleasantdale Chateau was exceptional down to the last detail. The staff helped us make our fairytale wedding come true and took care of absolutely everything the day of the wedding (my husband and I hardly had to lift a finger or worry for a single second). They are the epitome of true professionals who know their business to a T. The Pleasantdale is pricey, and has become quite popular (so weddings need to be booked fairly far in advance - we booked our wedding date October of 2006 but didn't get married until March of 2007). I would recommend this venue to anyone - getting married at the Pleasantdale is an experience we will truly never forget. It has been almost 2 years since our wedding and our friends and family STILL talk about our wedding. Unforgettable.

This was a DREAM COME TRUE venue for my husband and Me. Andrew and the staff of pleasantdale truly made out wedding unforgettable, and we still feel like it wasn't real :)!!!!

Fairy Tales can come true. Just leave it to celebrating it at the Chateau. Never in a million years did I think I could have a royal wedding. Well, leave it to Laura Madden who from the inception of our meeting two years prior to wedding date till the last moment of our wedding day. She is effective, efficient, know exactly what is needed to make your dreams come true. My experience working with her and trusting her was way beyond my expectations. She is truly a professional from returning all my phone calls and easing my concerns. Laura Madden it doesnt get any better. The Chateau is a royal palace but the one who manages it must know how to operate it and she does. Thank you for the everlasting memories.

Amazing food, beautiful grounds! It was the perfect setting for my wedding!

You pull up to this venue and wow, immediate reaction, amazing. I could not stop smiling even my fiancé was in awe. We were highly considering this venue for our wedding especially after seeing the inside.
You walk in you are immediately greeted as if they knew you. As we waited for Fred, we were admiring the architecture and the unique look of Pleasantdale. Fred greeted us, sat down, and told us a little about the history of Pleasantdale, which I love places that have history and beautiful architecture, then lead us on a tour. Amazing. I almost cried walking into the ballroom. Now, my fiancé and I are looking at each other like this is definitely the place we want.
Fred leads us into his office, shows us a video of what the property looks like in the fall, then starts to tell us what magazines they were featured in, how the cake boss had his daughters sweet 16 there, etc. Then he starts with pricing and we figured it wasn’t going to be a wedding that was going to cost us $20,000 and we were completely okay with that after seeing this place. It was like a dream.
He went on about the kind of food we could have, cocktail stations, dessert, cake, premium bar, an after party, everything. We have been to other venues and all of them have sat down with us, talked with us, gave us information about what we would be paying for, the options we had, different upgrades and packages, all in a folder for us to take home. But, he did not even give us package options, there was nothing given to us to show us the kind of packages they even offered. He just immediately said to us, “so you are looking at about $500 a person which would be $70,000” as he wrote that on the back of the paper with our names on it. He then said, “but you could make it go down to about $50,000”. I almost threw up but I kept my composure because at this moment, I knew he didn’t want us to have our wedding there just because of the way we look. We are tattooed, hard working, intelligent people. I’m not stupid, people judge us every day by how we look and this is just what Fred did.
He sent us on our way with a brochure with no information just some pictures of the venue, almost as a joke.
I only gave 2 stars because the venue is beautiful, Fred however, is not.
Maybe from this review, he will learn to not judge a book by its cover.
P.S.- We own our own businesses, we could have easily afforded it but to be hit with $500 a person is a little shocking initially compared to everywhere else.

The place is gorgeous but the service wasn't the best. I did not have a friendly waitress, she was had a very smart mouth for her age and not pleasant at all. Did not represent the name of the place. I tried getting help from another employee and told me I had to speak the lady taking care of my table. I did not like the vibe decided to go sit at someone else's table and mingle until dinner was served. I went back to my table and sat with my party and as we all talked among each other I see the same waitress being rude to one of the her employees and putting them on the spot. What she should of done was take them away from the guests. This lady should not be working there with her smart remarks and horrible attitude towards others.

This venue is absolutely gorgeous, and the most beautiful, in my opinion, in the tri-state area. It is very pricey but considering its beauty and uniqueness I think it's worth it. Here's are the problems we had, however, and I think one is MAJOR unfortunately and soured our memories of the wedding. 1) The salesperson (Nate I think his name was) sat down with us to discuss our food choices. He convinced us to let him choose the food b/c he loves food blah blah blah. Anyway, after the ceremony (and the venue is beautiful I must admit!) my husband and I went into a little room and we were brought some food that included lobster, shrimp, etc. My mother told me later that the food brought to the guests after the ceremony and prior to the reception was pasta and generally kind of cheap. I resent this b/c for the price we paid per person we could have chosen shrimp, etc. Granted, we were wrong for allowing Nate to choose for us. 2) The wedding cake they provided was inedible but the main entrees were good. 3) Now, here's the MAJOR problem and I was very close even to filing a police report. The Chateau provided a box for guests to put their cards (that contained money). We eventually discovered that TWELVE of the cards disappeared. Luckily those twelve contained checks and not cash and we were able to inform our guests and advise them to cancel the checks. I understand that there can be new employees that may not be trustworthy, and I also accept responsibility for not providing the box myself or for putting one of my guests in charge of it , but when I informed the Chateau about this I was completely ignored. I gave the names and tel # of my guests who saw an employee take the box into the "back" and later bring it back. The manager (not Nate, I forget this guy's name) never called to follow up, and I was basically told that it was probably one of my guests who did it. That's extremely insulting because the guests whose cards were missing told me they had all personally placed their cards in the box and I doubt another guest would take the entire box and open it up and steal cards in the middle of a relatively small wedding (about 90 people). Oh, and the reason I gave it 3 stars for flexibility is b/c Nate's assistant who was pretty helpful (except when I called about the theft) let me change the guest count after the deadline I'd been given.

Anyone who has been to the Pleasantdale Chateau or heard about it by word of mouth has, for the most part, probably heard great things about it. Well, our experience was very different. It was one of unprofessional and unscrupulous behavior and very unbecoming to a venue that holds itself to be anything but that. Due to very unfortunate circumstances we had to cancel our daughter's wedding 3 months after we booked it and 13 months prior to the actual date. It recently became known to us that Pleasantdale had rebooked the date, but for a lesser amount (However, we have no proof of the amount of the new booking.). They initially kept a "rebooking" fee of $1200. We contacted them requesting the balance of our deposit, and we were told that was not happening. We even offered to accept a percentage of the balance, but that wasn't even up for discussion. I find it to be absolutely disgusting given the circumstances and the timing of the cancellation (13 months before the event). Pleasantdale Chateau is one of the busiest venues in New Jersey and, without a doubt, does not need our money to survive. I would think their reputation would mean more to them than holding on to someone's money when an entire family is going through a very tough time.
