Jon was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. He was incredibly responsive from the start and made the entire process feel easy and collaborative. He’s not only creative and talented, but also genuinely fun to work with.
We really appreciated how clearly he communicated about scope and expectations, especially when it came to working within our budget. He was transparent about what was possible and helped us make thoughtful choices that maximized impact without overspending. It was clear throughout that he truly cares about his work and about creating the best possible setup for his couples.

My spouse and I hired John/the Plant Office as our wedding florist and it was the best decision we could have made. After struggling for months to find a florist that met our needs and was within our budget, we lucked out with the Plant Office - John very graciously fit us in their schedule only three weeks before our wedding!
John was incredibly efficient, thorough, and professional throughout the process, even with a very tight turnaround. During our consultation, John took great care to understand our vision, needs, and personal preferences while taking us step by step through the process, then provided two detailed proposals at different price points for us to choose between. At no point did I feel rushed or confused about anything; he laid everything out in clear terms, from the invoice to day-of instructions. We were able to get everything we wanted (and more) at a price that worked for our budget, which felt pretty miraculous after contending with the Portland, ME wedding market.
Everything was absolutely perfect the day of the wedding. Delivery and set up at the ceremony site and reception venue went smoothly, the flowers were pristine from start to finish, and all of the arrangements looked amazing. I could have spent all day admiring our bouquets and the gorgeous ground arch that they crafted. Our other vendors, especially our venue staff and wedding planner, said that John was exceptional to work with. Our guests (as well as the catering + venue staff) raved about the flowers and were overjoyed to take some of them home at the end of the night!
We would recommend the Plant Office to anyone looking for wedding florals – or just a bouquet for special occasion (I’ve gotten most of my flowers from the Plant Office since the wedding and they are always beautiful!). I’d also like to add that my spouse and I are queer, and we felt so comfortable and welcomed throughout our interactions with John. They never made any assumptions about us or our preferences based on gender, and helped us come up with a wedding aesthetic that fit our needs perfectly. -

I came to John Sundling with a creative vision for my wedding flowers. He listened, took notes, asked the right questions—and then took it somewhere I couldn't have imagined on my own.
What arrived wasn't just flowers. It was atmosphere. The arrangements transformed the room in a way that matched the exact tone and intention of our wedding. Somehow John understood not just what I asked for, but what I was trying to say.
The result was a work of art. Otherworldly, honestly.
Not that I'm planning on getting married again, but if I did? I wouldn't call anyone else. Plant Office is the real thing. -

Florist, Creative Visionary and Hardest Worker All in One!
John's work was one of the highlights of my wedding. At our first meeting, we had an easy conversation to go over the vision and it felt like he truly got me and took the time to understand what I wanted. He is not just a florist, he is an artist with an incredible eye and killer work ethic. John went above and beyond with bringing the florals to our island wedding venue, doing all of the installations perfectly and even helped us transfer the flowers off of the island to a different venue for a brunch the morning after. At every step of the way, his care and passion were felt. I would 10/10 choose to work with John & The Plant Office over and over again! -

Working with Plant Office was hands down one of the BEST parts of my wedding planning experience! From the very start, an informational chat, I felt very heard and inspired. I’m not the type of person who always has a clear vision of what I want for an event, particularly in terms of flowers, so I was thrilled when John asked me very helpful questions to start to understand what I did and did not want. I learned a lot about flowers and arrangements just from that first hour and the conversation brought a new sense of excitement for my wedding that I hadn’t had before. Everything from there on out continued to be easy and full of thoughtful beauty! I was so glad that I decided to go with an installment piece, one of Plant Office’s greatest areas of strength and something that sets them apart. John designed a way to transform the tree we got married in front of into a living bouquet. On the day when I saw it revealed, I was blown away! It was jaw-droppingly gorgeous and the tree with florals immediately became a place for guests to take pictures. It was such a memorable moment in the weekend! John and the Plant Office team are absolutely fabulous to work with; I really can’t recommend them enough. Whether you’re a flower person or a wanna-be flower person, they will make sure that your day is full of beauty and warmth! -

Highly recommend!
I used John at Plant Office for my wedding flowers (bouquets and buttonieres) and everything was fantastic. John was amazing to work with start to finish, he took such care preparing my flowers and packing them for the ride to my venue, telling us how to keep them in their best shape until the ceremony. He had great ideas and also deeply listened to my vision. I could not have been happier- the flowers were stunning- and I highly recommend Plant Office ! -

The absolute best
John was nothing short of incredible. We decided to give him a budget and complete creative freedom, he did not disappoint! It was such a comforting feeling knowing I could trust him with a huge part of our wedding. I saw the florals for the first time when I walked down the aisle and having that be a surprise just added to the magic of the day. I’m still getting compliments! -

My wedding flowers were the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I highly recommend Plant Office for any flower/ plant needs. I gave very little specification for my wedding and we were blown away. Creative, responsive, professional, and just all around great to work with. When people look at my wedding pictures, the first thing they notice is how beautiful the flowers are. Everything was perfect. -

After seeing John’s wreaths, restaurant florals, set designs, art installations, and other works, we knew we had to have him work his magic at our wedding!
John was super easy to work with, meeting with us in person and by phone, asking helpful questions to get at the overall vision that we had in mind for our big day.
We trusted him to execute on our desire for a woodland wedding full of ferns and moss and plants that could live on after the event.
My bridesmaids also surprised me by booking John for a terrarium workshop at my bridal shower. He was a fun and knowledgeable instructor and had sourced some interesting plants for us to use.
We highly recommend John to anyone looking to incorporate florals into an event in a memorable and sustainable way. -

I was referred to John by another florist who wasn't available for my date, and I'm so grateful! I was planning my wedding from afar and therefore not able to meet with local vendors, and spending thousands of dollars via telephone is a little nerve wracking. John was super easy to work with from the start. We had a few phone calls and exchanged emails with photos and once he felt confident he had my visual in mind, he sent over a proposal that worked within my budget - and never made me feel less than when I asked about ways to spend more wisely. He had wonderful insight and advice about how best to allocate the budget and what things were less of a priority. All of this was VERY close to the wedding date, but he was on top of it - in a good way as I had a lot on my plate and appreciated his follow up and organization in making sure we had what we needed.
I gave him full control with little guidance and felt confident he would deliver - and deliver he did. I was in my bridal suite getting ready when he came to deliver the flowers and I literally burst into tears at the sight of my bouquet. My makeup artist wasn't pleased but I was thrilled! :) He made all my wedding floral dreams come true, even spending extra time pinning my grandmother's pearl necklace around the stems of my bouquet. We had a very large bridal party and everyone loved their flowers, including the flower girls who had beautfiful babies breath flower crowns and the star of the show, my pug flower girl who got the most beautiful piece of all, her adorned floral collar! I cannot say enough how much I loved my flowers and working with John was a breeze. Couldn't have asked for a better outcome. -

John is fully amazing. We wanted very earthy flowers with a “mountain meets ocean feel” and he totally crushed it. The arbor was STUNNING and even held up through some aggressive wind mid day. All of our flowers were unique and lovely ❤️ My dogs flower collar was perfect and held up throughout the whole day. John was also easy to contact and his communication was on point throughout the whole process. Thank you so much!!! Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a wedding florist!! -
