I will never forget looking over at Elexis (and Wes) during our rehearsal the day before our wedding and thinking, 'wow, I could not have done this whole thing without her.' I can, without hesitation, say that hiring Elexis was the best decision we made when deciding to have our wedding in Lake Placid. She's professional, SUPER responsive, has strong relationships with local vendors, builds strong relationships if you bring in any new vendors, experienced, and LOVELY to work with.
Elexis stayed on top of the one MILLION details that go into wedding planning, and had every second of the day completely memorized from beginning to end. Her relationships with local vendors was completely invaluable; I didn't have to worry about being the middle man coordinating vendor details because Elexis works with these vendors year round and they have a tight-knit community. Elexis also thought of details that would have completely slipped my mind otherwise; her experience, especially her experience in Lake Placid, prevented hundreds of could-be headaches.
The wedding day was calm and easy thanks to Elexis. I didn't have to worry about a thing. OH and we had a 30+ person wedding party, and as far as I know, EVERYONE knew where to be, where to stand, when to leave, where to put their flowers, etc. without any reminders from me! I don't know how she did it.
I can't say enough. If you're planning a wedding in Lake Placid, you HAVE to reach out to Placid Planner. I promise that on your wedding day, you'll see her, give her a hug and say that hiring her was the best decision you made in your planning process! -

Best wedding planner in town
Elexis was our wedding planner for our October 2025 wedding, and she was truly incredible from start to finish. She goes above and beyond to make sure you get the wedding of your dreams, and seeing the final result left me absolutely speechless.
I reached out to Elexis a year in advance because I had no idea where to even begin with planning. From the very first conversation, she made me feel completely comfortable and confident. The entire planning process felt effortless because of her. She’s organized, professional, and genuinely cares about her clients. Communicating with her never felt like business—it felt like chatting with a friend who just happens to be amazing at what she does.
Her vendor recommendations were spot-on, and every single one was wonderful to work with. Thanks to her guidance, everything came together perfectly. I couldn’t be happier with how our wedding turned out.
If you’re wondering whether you need a wedding planner, the answer is an easy yes. Elexis made what could have been a stressful experience feel like a total breeze. On the day of the wedding, she was right there with us the entire time, working her magic and ensuring everything ran flawlessly.

I can’t say enough good things about Elexis! My husband and I are from Maine and we took a risk by having a site unseen wedding, but Elexis made the whole process enjoyable! From the big details to the small, everything was magical and we are all still in awe! She really made the entire process so easy and stress free, which allowed us to enjoy each and every moment with each other and our families. We feel so lucky to have had her by our side. Seriously, if you are looking for a wedding planner, look not further! We will forever be grateful for the special day she helped create for us! -

Where to begin! The TLDR version is that Elexis is hands down the best in the business, her organization & planning skills are unmatched and she ensured that our wedding weekend extravaganza went off without a hitch, or should I say with us getting hitched? Lol
For those of you who like to do a bit more in-depth reading… So turns out, planning a wedding these days can be challenging to say the least. To make matters more complicated for us, we aren’t local to the area (multiple states away). Planning a wedding is so much more than just going through a bunch of checklists and wrangling vendors and contracts, I’m fairly confident we would not have been able to pull it off without the amazing services Elexis provided. She coordinated, kept track of vendors, provided recommendations, kept us on schedule, and so much more. We were able to enjoy our wedding weekend without stressing out and with absolutely nothing going wrong. Elexis worked so hard to make it an unforgettable experience. Simply incredible!
Elexis was the main reason our wedding turned out so perfect. Her attention to detail, multitasking skills, and organization were top notch. I think I spoke to her every single day for over a year, and honestly will miss our email exchanges. She is personable, honest, and a pro when it comes to executing events. Unfortunately it was extremely rainy on our wedding - Elexis made sure in advance to have all of our rain plans set in stone, thinking of every single detail possible. She went above and beyond on our wedding day to make sure everything was perfect, despite the rain. She will undoubtedly make your wedding planning and day of perfect. I appreciate you endlessly Elexis! -

Hire elexis!
I came into wedding planning a little stressed since I was working full time and in grad school, and was about to add planning a wedding to that list. The second we hired Elexis I felt at ease. She provides the best working documents that tell you exactly what you should be working on each month to keep you on track. I never felt worried that I was missing something or falling behind because Elexis was right there with me every step of the way.
Elexis is also a joy to work with. She knows her stuff and comes at the whole experience with a sense of excitement and fun. She made me feel at ease on my wedding day (even though we had some weather concerns) that everything would go to plan. And it did.
LONG STORY SHORT: hire Elexis. You will not regret it. -

The absolute best wedding planner. I was five plus hours away and I never worried about one single detail. Elexis it organized (very) , professional and fun to Work with. My wedding day was perfect bc of her. She took care of every little detail. I’m so happy I chose her. Well Worth every penny -

A mother of the bride - POV
Having Elexis Gaines from Placid Planner as our daughter Doreen Massie’s wedding planner made all the difference in the outcome of the wedding. It was perfect. Doreen seemed overwhelmed when she started to plan her wedding. We discussed the magnitude of planning and contracting vendors. A short time later Dorie contracted with Elexis and from that point on everything fell into place.
Elexis suggested menu options, the band and the baker for the wedding cake. Our menu items were great, the band was fabulous and the cake was wonderful.
Elexis went above and beyond working to make Doreen’s wedding special. The day of the wedding Elexis was at the ceremony, and didn’t leave until the reception was over.
I can only say if anyone planning a wedding doesn’t contract with Elexis Gaines from Placid Planner they are making a big mistake. Elexis is truly a special person, wonderful personality and easy to work with. -

When our daughter and her fiancé chose the Lake Placid Lodge for their wedding, we knew that we would need a Wedding Planner, as the wedding would be a destination event for everyone. We were relatively unfamiliar with the Adirondack area and needed someone, who could help us make all the local arrangements, such as the tent, transportation, flowers, hair and makeup, and so on. Elexis knew all the best people and helped us with all the logistics. She kept everyone on schedule and organized. Elexis also insured that everything was beautiful, paying attention to the smallest of details. Our guests really enjoyed themselves and commented on the beautiful flower arrangements, the place settings, and the flow of events. The rehearsal dinner, welcoming cocktail party, wedding reception, and brunch all went off without a hitch. It was very comforting to have Elexis with all her experience guide us successfully through the one year of planning.

Elexis is a wedding planning rockstar!
Elexis was instrumental in helping us have the most perfect wedding day ever! We were a pandemic couple who had to postpone from 2020 to 2021 and you would think that would be a very stressful addition to wedding planning, but with Elexis's help it went so smoothly. Elexis is very professional, knowledgeable and not only keeps you in check with her detailed planning and timelines, but also offers helpful advice on other situations that arise when you just need an ear and guidance. Our wedding day went absolutely perfectly thanks to Elexis (and Wes's) hard work and we can't thank her enough for everything she did behind the scenes for us. I would recommend her to anyone looking to get married in Lake Placid. -

Hiring elexis was the best decision we made. I can't say enough good things about our experience with Elexis and I cannot imagine what our wedding would have been without her. She knew our venue better than anyone and worked incredibly hard to give us the most amazing wedding. Elexis goes above and beyond in every single way, whether it be driving to another state to try a baker or finding the perfect cake stand on etsy or literally cleaning the bridal suite while the bride and groom dance...she's a magic making machine and truly cares about her clients and the events she plans.
We began planning with Elexis at the start of covid for a June 2021 wedding at the Lake Placid Lodge. Elexis helped us navigate many, many issues with the venue and all of the constantly changing NYS covid regulations. Every single tiny detail was thought of; details that we never, ever would have thought of on our own. Elexis helped us with everything down to flatware, linens, the hunt for perfect chargers, and flowers and candles that I knew nothing about. She came up with multiple floor plans that would optimize the space and guest experience, she found us transportation for our welcome party, helped with rehearsal dinner and sunday brunch planning, gave us welcome bag ideas, and recommendations for the best vendors the area had. Thanks to her guidance, we were able to book amazing vendors with time to spare and did not have to book any second choices. The timeline she provides is excellent and will keep you on track to have the best wedding ever.
Elexis works tirelessly for her clients throughout the planning process and throughout the event as well. It was raining on our wedding day (plan A was outdoor ceremony) and Elexis came to me and told me that the venue was adamant about setting up our ceremony indoors, and asked if I still wanted to try for an outdoor ceremony. I told her I did, and about five minutes later I saw the chairs being set up on the lawn. Elexis was there with us late into the night/early into the morning making sure everything was going off perfectly and getting things ready for our brunch the following day. She even cleaned up our bridal suite and made sure we had extra wedding cake slices in our mini fridge.
Long story short: If anything went wrong on our wedding day, I didn't know about it, and our wedding was so beautiful and detailed that it put anything on my pinterest boards to shame. Now that the wedding is over, I truly miss talking to Elexis nearly every day! -

Elexis is an absolute star in the industry. My wife and I went into the process with little information on how to pull off such a gorgeous and grand wedding. Without her help it would have been a huge stresser, but with Elexis she so clearly mapped out what we had to do month to month that it really eased a ton of stress. Aside from an entire year of guidance, timelines, deadlines and more, she truly shined on the wedding day itself. She was such a detail oriented liaison between us and the venue - there is no way the wedding would have been so perfect without her. She is a must hire! It was our pleasure truly to work with her. -

Elexis is priceless
An absolute godsend is the easiest way to describe Elexis. My family and I are beyond grateful for finding her and even more thankful that she was available to work with us. We had struggled with planning a wedding during Covid and actually had to reschedule numerous times. Our heart was set on Lake Placid and Elexis was the perfect person to help us make our dream wedding come true.
Her professionalism and ability to guide me during this process was perfection. She helped me to clearly set up the things that needed to be done, and more importantly……she gave me insight to things I had no idea even needed to be done.
Elexis connected with all of our vendors and helped me to put everything in place. It took a tremendous weight off of my shoulders. As my dad described her she was the “best quarterback”, she pulled everything together and executed our wedding weekend perfectly.
Elexis was so easy to work with, and made this wedding weekend for us even more special than we could have imagined. We don’t even have enough words to describe how she made this all come together for us. We will forever be grateful to Elexis. -

There is no way I could have planned a more perfect day without Elexis @PlacidPlanner! We knew we wanted our wedding to be in Lake Placid, but being that we were having a destination wedding, it was difficult to navigate the area (finding reliable vendors, etc) and just mapping out the whole day in general. With the help of Elexis, our wedding day was flawless! Elexis was extremely reliable and responsive throughout the entire planning process. We truly experienced the exclusivity of her brand. We can’t thank her enough for being such a big part of making our day so special! -

It began to rain just as I started to read my vows to my (then) soon-to-be husband. A brides worst nightmare...or so you'd think!
Elexis has been a supportive friend & partner from the start & our day turned out to be better than we could have ever imagined. I honestly think that if she could have, Elexis would have called up Mother Nature & asked her to hold off on that late afternoon sprinkle she had planned (she is Super Woman but I think Mother Nature was out of office that day).
I mean it when I say that I would not have changed a single thing about our special day and we owe SO much of that to Elexis's support and guidance from start to finish (& beyond). Having a destination wedding can present so many challenges & unique road blocks. If we hadn't had Elexis's local knowledge, wedding expertise & unmatched professional relationships with local vendors, our day would not have turned out to be as wonderful as it was.
I walked back down the aisle with soaking wet hair & it was the happiest moment of my life.
THE BEST wedding decision we made was bringing Elexis on board to be the lead of our incredible wedding planning team. If I had to give one piece of advise to all Lake Placid brides, it would be to roll with the punches (rain or shine) & to HIRE ELEXIS! -

We had the perfect wedding and we couldn’t have done it without Elexis. We live in NYC and booked Lake Placid Lodge, which is about 5-6 hours away, for a four-day wedding celebration. On top of the wedding itself, we had a welcome BBQ, excursions like biking, hiking, and zip lining, and a talent show. Being so far away from the area, we needed someone local and familiar to the area and its vendors. Not only did Elexis help plan and organize all of this, she also suggested the most amazing vendors. She was so on top of it and you could feel how much she cared about us and our wedding. Even when there was a hiccup, Elexis would be right on it and troubleshot the issue immediately. If you are having your wedding in the Lake Placid area, I highly recommend going with Placid Planner. I wouldn’t go with anyone else! Elexis is the best!

We knew we would need local help with planning our Lake Placid wedding from Orlando, FL and found our life saver with Elexis. From the moment my husband and I hired her, she was extremely professional, diligent, organized, on top of every little thing throughout the whole process. This helped alleviate a lot of stress for me. Elexis was always quick to respond to any question and/or concern I had. She went above and beyond the role of a wedding planner from helping bustle my dress, pin boutonnieres, and helping us decorate the church with a DIY project. In addition, her knowledge and experience was incredibly valuable. Our wedding day was so perfect and went so smoothly that we can't thank Elexis more for all of her handwork! -

Kim Sent on 10/14/2018Hands down, Elexis is the best. Considering we live in Denver, we most certainly could have never planned our wedding without her! We actually met with Elexis before my husband proposed (long story short, I knew it was coming – and it actually happened soon after we met with her). This was July 27, 2016… 26 months almost to the day before we got married. The day we met with Elexis, she showed us a few venues I had always loved – but unfortunately we had way too many guests to fit inside a normal venue… so, outside we went! We also had the difficulty of wanting our ceremony in Malone (roughly an hour away) at a church I grew up in. Elexis was totally understanding and supporting of this. Thanks to Elexis, we had all of the best vendors for the event (especially for our size – 420 were invited, roughly 220 attended). She’s always very timely with responses and great at staying on the vendors who aren’t so timely (their creativity made up for it!). We have to plan our vacations far in advance because of the work we do, so she postponed her normal December vacation to accommodate us visiting to do tastings and site tours. I can’t imagine many other people in this small town (or anywhere, really) doing the same! Bottom line, the entire planning process was so simple and it’s all thanks to Elexis! And then there’s the wedding weekend! From the moment of the rehearsal on Friday afternoon, through the Welcome Party and then the Wedding Day itself… everything went SO well. We couldn’t be happier! Nearly every guest commented on how blown away they were by everything and it’s all thanks to Elexis and her amazing suggestions of vendors! -

From day one, she went above and beyond to make our wedding the most incredible, detailed, and fun day. At the beginning, Elexis ensured we connected with the vendors who made sense for us through her incredible "friendor" relationships she has fostered over many years in the Adirondack region and beyond. Over the course of the past year, she aided with every level of detail you could possibly imagine as we readied for the big day - from lending advice about decor and every other wedding-related question under the sun, to double and triple checking we had everything that we needed to pull off an incredible event. And don't even get me started on the wedding week, during which she and her assistant Christina worked tirelessly - sometimes in literal thunderstorms... yes, seriously! - to execute our wedding vision to a T. I can't say enough about her dedication to her clients and her passion for what she does. Again, you'd be sorely missing out if you chose not to work with the best wedding planner in the Adirondacks.
TL;DR? Hire her. -
