Dream come true
Where do i begin? Pine Knob Mansion was the perfect venue for our special day. We got married in august and were blessed with beautiful weather, we were married in the garden and danced the night away on the patio. We chose the mansion because it was a venue with character, not like a typically hall or anything like that. Every step of planning with the Mansion was easy and wonderful. Especially working with Kurt, he’s the best!!! Could not have asked for more. If you’re overwhelmed with trying to find a perfect venue for your wedding, call and schedule a tour of the Mansion (carriage house is beautiful too) you will not regret it. Affordable, beautiful, excellent food and super accommodating! -

Incredible venue to work with
We had an amazing experience with Pine Knob. There was not a single thing they didn't accommodate for us, and they were so incredibly kind about everything. They made our wedding day smooth and fun, which is what it should be! Truly an amazing venue -

We won best venue!
I had so many people tell me how amazing pine knob was. This year has been crazy but they helped along the whole way answering all our questions even when they couldn’t give us an answer right away. They worked with us on everything and were more than happy to make adjustments and work with us as restrictions changed and as we changed our minds! -

This place was amazing
I would choose this place all over again, but I'm still happily married lol. Kurt was amazing the day and week of when it came to planning and the menu. The staff literally did anything they could to make the day perfect. The venue is gorgeous, but my main reason for choosing them is because their communication FAR EXCEEDED any other place. If I sent an email, Angie responded same day and was so helpful and kind. I highly recommend this place. The gardens (by the mansion) are where we took our photos and they turned out beautifully, as well. Get married here. Do it.-

Incredible!!
Pine Knob and their staff are absolutely incredible. Planning a wedding during covid was stressful to say the least, but Corinna was there for me every step of the way. They were so accommodating with all the changes, and managed to make my wedding day perfect in every way. We originally booked our wedding for June 2020, but decided to postpone to August 2020 because of covid. Pine Knob had to make some changes to accommodate to the governors orders, but Corinna presented options for me to consider. We ended up getting married in the mansion gardens with 33 people in attendance and had a 2 hour cocktail hour with our guests instead of a large reception. We have already booked with Pine Knob again next year for our large reception, we can’t wait! I would highly recommend Pine Knob to any bride looking for a wedding venue. -

Absolutely amazing!
I could rave on and on ALL DAY about how amazing Pine Knob is for events!! From our first tour, my husband and I knew we needed to have our wedding at the Pine Knob Carriage House. It is in a convenient and BEAUTIFUL location and the staff is so knowledgable and responsive. The Gardens up by the Mansion for our pictures were also so perfect for our photos! Then we had our food tasting and WOW, it was hard to narrow down what we wanted for our big day because it was all amazing. Leading up to our wedding, Corinna was an absolute angel to work with and we made a great team. Whenever she was out of office, Angie was fantastic to talk to as well! Then our big day arrived. I cannot explain how wonderful the whole team was to work alongside for my big day and there was no one else I would have rather worked with. I cannot picture my wedding happening anywhere else with any one other than Corinna and her team! They made us feel so special the entire time and did not let some rain on and off get in the way. Corinna made sure everything stayed on track while also talking to me throughout the night. I am pretty laid back so Corinna helped me make decisions and made everything so perfect and flawless. I highly recommend Pine Knob Carriage House (and Mansion but I was at the Carriage House!). LONG STORY SHORT: Corinna (and Angie) and their whole team are fantastic, the scenery is gorgeous, they are very accommodating and knowledgeable, very responsive, the food is amazing, and they will always have my highest recommendation! :) -

Best Wedding Vendor to Work With Hands Down
Pine Knob was the most wonderful vendor I worked with by far. We had our original wedding date postponed due to COVID and Pine Knob made it completely stress free. Our new wedding date still had pretty strict restrictions but they handled it all with ease, never made me feel overwhelmed or concerned. On the actual wedding day, again a wonderful team that made the space look absolutely beautiful. Always so reassuring when I was freaking out because it wouldn't stop raining (and the entire wedding at to be outside). I could not have asked for a more wonderful venue to handle my corona wedding. I would recommend them to any couple a million times over. -

Amazing Venue for a Winter Wedding!
We had a perfect winter wedding at The Mansion. We found the staff to be more than accommodating throughout the entire process. From the initial tour, to the tasting, to the finalizing of details, the wedding coordinators went above and beyond to make our day as perfect as possible. The Peppino room is a great place to take pictures when it's cold inside. The food was amazing. The venue goes above and beyond to accommodate dietary restrictions and ensure all guests eat a great meal. We had so many compliments from our guests about how great of a place it was to have a wedding. The venue is gorgeous and we received great customer service throughout the whole process. -

A Fairytale Venue!
I may be a little biased when saying this, but my wedding day was perfect (!), largely in thanks to Pine Knob. The staff are incredible! From the get go, planning was so easy. Corinna and Angie were always available to address any questions or concerns. Our ceremony was outside under the gazebo and the pictures look like you are in the mountains of Tennessee, so gorgeous! We got so many compliments on the food. If you're able, I highly recommend renting the bridal suite upstairs! You get beautiful pictures with your girls while getting ready, and you just have lots of extra space.
My biggest concern was it being so close to DTE music theatre and being able to hear the music from the back patio of the Mansion, believe me when I say, it was not a problem at all! -

Pine Knob is absolutely remarkable!
We had a beautiful winter wedding at Pine Knob this past Saturday. We held our ceremony at the Mansion and it is absolutely stunning! The venue truly speaks for itself, it has character, history, and an intimate atmosphere. There are two enormous bridal suites, one of them was recently renovated and it is spectacular for photos. Our reception was down the hill at the Carriage House, which is similar to a more traditional hall but still has character. There is a wall of windows, a beatiful fire place, and an outdoor patio for the summer. The coordinators at Pine Knob are all exceptional. They went above and beyond all our expectations in supporting us on our big day. They were kind, responsive, personable, and flexible. We had an absolute blast hanging out with Kurt during our tasting, the rehearsal and throughout the big day; he truly went the extra mile. The food was INCREDIBLE! Every single table was just raving about it. People said it was definitely one of the best wedding meals they have ever tasted. I can’t believe our day has come and gone, and having it at Pine Knob was the best decision we made. -

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this venue! We had our ceremony in the mansion and reception in the carriage house and it was STUNNING. I received so many compliments on how beautiful everything looked and how delicious the food was. They have so many dishes to choose from and made special dishes for my Vegan bridesmaid and her boyfriend. Kurt made the entire wedding process pain free and easy. Anything I asked for he made happen. On the day of our wedding he was so helpful; it was like he was in 10 places at once. We had cheesecakes brought in and they plated each a decorated them with chocolates and raspberries free of charge. The prices were appropriate for what you get in your wedding. The facilities were newly renovated in areas and extremely clean. I loved that they let us come in on the Wednesday before the wedding to set up and had our rehearsal on Friday night. If you're looking for a beautiful venue with delicious food and great customer service this is where you need to book. -

Wedding has not happened yet, it is next October. They fill up fast for Saturday's here, so if you're interested, get in quick! The property is beautiful and unique. The staff is perky and professional. The food selection is extensive and the packages come with premium liquor. The Peppino bridal suite is to die for, but it does cost a little extra. They make it very easy for planning from out of state; I look forward to the rest of my meetings at Pine Knob. -

We got married at Pine Knob Carriage House in June 2017. The staff worked with us so well over the course of our two year engagement. We live in OK and were planning everything from long distance - they went out of their way to coordinate special tastings and meetings whenever we were in town. Kurt and his wife were absolutely the best on-site coordinators to have the week of the wedding. They helped us organize the wedding party for the ceremony and helped keep everyone on time and happy. The venue included everything a bride could want -- catering, ceremony space, tables, chivalri chairs, linens, tableware, and bar service!!! All of my guests raved about the food stating "it was the best food I've ever had at a wedding" and the prices were very clear and fair. I would highly recommend booking Pine Knob as your venue. You will not be disappointed!!! :) -

We can't say enough nice things about our wedding experience this past weekend. We were in the Mansion for both the ceremony and reception. The entire staff was so kind and accommodating. They allowed us in early to do our first look and outdoor pictures long before the ceremony. Due to daylight savings time change it would have been dark by the time the ceremony started, so we were able to get all out bridal party pictures in on the beautiful grounds beforehand. Kurt was super awesome and quick to fix anything that needed tweaking with our ceremony set up (on the dance floor due to cold) and got me some hot tea after I came inside freezing from taking pictures. Our guests raved about the Chicken and Salmon from our dinner buffet, and many said it was the best Salmon they ever had. There isn't one thing I can think of that didn't go according to plan, and if it did, I gratefully knew nothing about it!

Pine Knob Mansion was a perfect venue. Pine knob worked with us to make sure we had just what we wanted. We had wanted a special craft beer and they made sure we had it, we needed to store some decor ahead of the wedding and they said no problem. We got married on a 90+ degree day but the staff at the mansion made sure our guests had cold water for the outdoor ceremony. The venue itself is beautiful and while some parts, like the Peppino Room could use some updating, all of our guests commented on how beautiful and unique it was. Love, love, love the mansion!! -

I had the pleasure of celebrating my daughters marriage to her soul mate on Saturday, June 22 at the Mansion. Every part of our celebration was amazing! Lisa worked with my daughter, son-in-law and I for over a year to ensure their celebration would be perfect. Without a doubt Lisa and the entire staff at Pine Knob Mansion are the best in the business. From the help with our endless details that we planned for over a year, to the excellent service and outstanding meal, everything was absolutely perfect! If you are looking for an amazing venue that you and your guests will remember for a lifetime then you should check out Pine Knob Mansion. -

Pine Knob was a great place to have a ceremony and reception! Both the Carriage House where I had my ceremony and the Manson where I had my reception are absolutely beautiful and make for gorgeous pictures. The food and service was phenomenal. Lisa helped coordinate everything and was more then happy to answer each and everyone of my 100 emails. The staff are professional and kind, overall it's a great place. -

I loved Pine Knob Mansion from the moment my fiance and I looked at it for the first time. We immediately decided to have our ceremony and reception there. Lori and Diane were great to work with!!!
I had a day of coordinator which made sure everything was set up as I wanted....which is well worth it.
The food was great also!! -

I couldn't have imagined a more perfect location for my wedding!! I chose to have the wedding at the Carriage House and the grounds and hall were gorgeous! The service during the wedding was excellent - they were right on top of things and even carried my husbands and my plates through the buffet and dished out the food we wanted. The food was delicious (we all really loved the chicken with cheese sauce)! They were flexible to allow me to come in early the day before the wedding since there was no event scheduled so I could set up my centerpieces and the room (control freak) exactly how I wanted it! The staff was so friendly and they went above and beyond when it came to helping with my needs. My only two downfalls (and they are relatively minor): The bridal suite became VERY hot and there was no fan anywhere. Sweat+huge dress+make-up=no fun. Also, I loved the pavilion, but we wanted to decorate it ourselves but they had no ladders or stools and everything was too high to reach. Either way, those issues did NOT stop my opinion that the venue was AMAZING, and I would highly recommend it! Diane and Lisa were both spectacular to work with and provided many options to help make my wedding just what I wanted! -

Picture Perfect Wedding
The Pine Knob Mansion team provided an exceptional experience for our daughter's wedding this past November. From the planning to the main event, the process was flawless.
Gloria is superb. She and the front office staff worked tirelessly as the last minute details took form. They remained calm throughout all changes and idiosyncratic requests, which went a long way in reducing my blood pressure.
On the wedding day and throughout the night, Kurt and Jordan created and, importantly, maintained a magical experience throughout the entire evening. Kurt's confidence and energy ensured a smooth execution of all PKM functions. The food was great and plentiful, the wait staff was pleasant and efficient, the facility and grounds were clean and beautiful, the valet service was courteous and prompt, and the sound system (Randy) was crystal clear. In short, the trains ran on time and everyone worked to ensure flawless execution on all levels.
We do not tend to lavish praise on people who merely do what they should be doing. The PKM team, however, went above and beyond ordinary expectations. We thank the PKM team, most sincerely, for everything that you have done to create a memorable day and night.

I am so happy that we had our wedding here at Pine Knob! We were assisted by Lisa in our planning process and she really made it easy for us. She was very helpful and answered all of my many questions. We held the ceremony outside under the pavillion which turned out beautiful and we did not have to worry about what to do if it rained (which it did in the afternoon). The reception space looked gorgeous, everything ran on schedule and dinner was amazing. The food was so so good! (I loved the Chicken Kopa) The staff was friendly and they set up everything for me, even things that they first said they don't normally do. The only complaint I had was they have Friday weddings and all my guests were out of town so I couldn't host my rehearsal there which was really no big deal. :) I would highly recommend Pine Knob to anyone who wants an easy planning process and a beautiful wedding. -

Our experience at the Pine Knob Mansion was almost magical. We had about 90 guests so there was plenty of room. It had rained all day long so at the last minute, we made the call to move our ceremony inside. The coordinators and staff took care of everything. The ceremony was held in the dance floor area, a very cozy and intimate room. It was easy for everyone to hear and the natural lighting filtering through the large windows, although it was gloomy outside, was beautiful. The staff was professional and polite. The food was delicious. My husband and I are a military couple and the coordinators were very flexible, working closely with us to meet our needs and expectations. Our guests could not say enough about the atmosphere, both inside and out. -

Pine Knob is a beautiful and unique venue. We chose Pine Knob because of the gorgeous mansion and gardens. The food was amazing! They cooked the NY strips perfectly and my eggplant was delicious as well. The staff made everything easy and coordinated the whole day for us. I have heard from other brides how Pine Knob staff has saved the day! Pricey but you get your moneys worth! -

The first visit we made to the mansion we fell in love! It was a little more expensive than other venues we were looking at but it was well worth the money. It is elegant and feels expensive without breaking the bank. People raved about the food and atmosphere. The planning process with them was easy. They were very responsive with all communication which was a huge plus for me. I couldn’t have picked a better place to have the ceremony and reception. We rented the Peppino Room to get ready in before the ceremony and I recommend spending the extra money if nothing else because of the pictures you get by being in that room, the space is gorgeous.
Now for the few things I didn’t like so much about the mansion, there wasn’t much though. It was a little annoying that we had to pay the same amount for the kids as we did for the adults for the meal. Not a deal breaker by any means but just annoying. Also we had a stir fry station added to the buffet which was a huge success with the guests that got it. The down side though, not many guests got it because they only had one guy taking care of all 130 of our guests. As a result of just having the one guy the line got really long and most people just went back to their seats instead of trying it out. Also one last thing, the tables in the front are supposed to hold 8 people but that is pushing it they hold more like 6 comfortably.

We had our wedding at the Carriage House on June 23. Angie and Kurt were both great to work with! The food was perfect, no complaints there. The venue was clean and the staff who worked our reception were all very helpful. The only complaint we had was that dinner took too long. We had 245 guests and had our dinner hand passed. There was too much time in between courses, as guests were starting to get up and move around while they were waiting for the next course. The dancing started a little later than we had planned due to the long dinner. But overall, everything was beautiful. Outside the Carriage House and up near the mansion in the garden area are both perfect spots for pictures. -

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Mansion in August 2012. We both thought it was the most beautiful, perfect day and the staff was all wonderful. The hors d'oeuvres, drinks and dinner were all spectacular. All of our guests raved about the food...especially the hors d'oeuvres. Lisa deserves special mention, as she was always kind & patient...even during the last 1-2 weeks when everything was especially hectic. She stayed after-hours the day of our rehearsal to ensure my MIL could access the rehearsal area, since she is wheelchair-bound. She was also there the day of the wedding and helped keep things moving smoothly.
We only had a couple of recommendations/concerns:
1. The bridal party did not get a chance to enjoy the hors d'oeuvres, since they are served after the ceremony during cocktail hour. We were all busy with photos during that time, though at the end of the night we found the staff had placed a special tray of hors d'oeuvres up in the Peppino Room. This was a very nice gesture, but we were never informed of this. Also, we never would have had a chance to eat them at that time anyway (too busy with receiving line and photos). Perhaps the Mansion should consider placing the hors d'oeuvres in the bride's room and the groom's room PRIOR to the ceremony. That way, they wouldn't go to waste. Just a thought.
2. The Mansion might also consider offering longer time periods on the premises. We were automatically given 7 hours (included ceremony time). However, because we didn't want to do a "first look", we had less than an hour to do our photos between the wedding and the ceremony. It would have been nice to have about 8 1/2 hours. That way, we could have had a 3:30 pm wedding and would have had about 2 hours for pictures while our guests enjoyed their cocktails. -

WONDERFUL venue for our ceremony and reception! They do book quick so flexibility of date is not always there. We originally wanted a Saturday date but we opted for a Friday since the original date was already booked. In the end having a Friday wedding gave us some price breaks that helped out financially. Every single guest commented on the great food and beautiful atmosphere of the Mansion. Some left that night commenting that they would be passing the suggestion on to others. My only suggestion is that the Mansion crew consider distributing the snack baskets earlier than 4pm when ordered for the bridal suites. Most of the food from the basket wasn't even touched because by then we were to busy with photos to eat. The other item of concern was that they didn't allow Parsonage Events to come in until 3:30 with the other vendors. Normally Parsonage would be allowed in a little earlier to set up but for some reason they weren't allowed in to the Mansion until 3:30 when they had a LOT of set up to do. -

We loved Pine Knob Mansion for our reception venue! It's a unique venue that fit our personalities and vision for our reception. Pine Knob Mansion does have a few limitations on what you can do for decorations, etc., but we were able to work around them. While it unfortunately rained relentlessly the entire day of our wedding (so we could not use the grounds), we were still able to enjoy the unique features and details of the mansion. There were a couple miscommunications between when we booked and a few months out, but the staff really pulled it together and stepped up in the months leading up to the reception. Kurt, the catering manager, and the chef will work with you to design your menu around your wants and needs. Our guests raved about the food, especially the vegetarian eggplant dish; those who had the vegetarian dish said they've never had a better meal! Kurt and the staff and Pine Knob were great to work with, accomodating, and really do want to make sure your event goes smoothly. -

We had our ceremony at the Mansion where the fireplace is located. The staff worked with us in setting up our chairs, as well as, allowing us the have the fireplace lit while ceremony. It was VERY nice being able to prepare for the ceremony in the Peppino Room, as the bride. The room was spacious enough for all four of my bridesmaids and I to spread out, as well as, our two make-up/hair artists! We also were able to have food brought to us prepared by the kitchen. One thing to note, Pine Knob does give you a discount for a winter wedding. We had our reception at the Carriage House, which was a great venue and only down the hill from our ceremony. Chauffeurs were available to park our guests cars during the ceremony and then bring them down to the Carriage House. Our guests could not get over how beautiful the venue was and how tasty the food was. Overall, a beautiful, whimsical place to get hitched! -

I really thought the venue was the best value for the vision that I wanted for my wedding day. I had several guests tell me that it looked right out of Napa Valley, CA. It's so quaint, romantic and elegant. An absolutely perfect setting for a wedding under 150 guests.
Also, the food options were endless. We are still hearing about how fabulous the food was...and I am still craving the potatoes! We had 4 different passed appetizers during cocktail hour. For our sit down dinner we had the duet entree of filet mignon and chicken piccata with sauteed green and yellow beans and julienne potatoes. Perfect and delicious!
I can honestly say I wouldn't change a thing from my wedding day. -

Pine Knob ended up being a wonderful choice for our venue. Our guests were thrilled with the ability to move about the mansion over the course of the reception and mingle with other guests without being drowned out by party music (as often happens in a banquet hall). The food was very good and the bartenders were great. The service in the dining room was fantastic.
The only thing we were a bit disappointed with was the addition of the 20% service charge which is added to items like hors d'ouevres and the cake cutting fee (the cake cutting fee is to "cut the cake" while the service charge was to "serve the cake" was what we were told). We wish that we had been made aware of this charge when we were booking the venue. -

My husband and I had an amazing experience with Pine Knob. We had our October wedding in the Carriage House and we truly couldn't have chosen a better venue for that time of the year. With the leaves peaking and being so high up in Metro Detroit it was perfect. Also, we received compliment after compliment of how amazing the food was and how gorgeous everything looked. Paige was so flexible with us through the entire process and we were able to do everything we wanted to do from day one. Awesome venue! -

I loved Pine Knob and the Staff from the beginning until my actual wedding day. The venue was great, answered all my questions and let me store my items there prior to the wedding. I was disapointed the day of the wedding. They do not have a designated coordinator the day of at least in terms of what I think a designated coordinator should be. I had someone assigned to me that I saw twice. After mentioning this to the office staff, they replied I was informed of how hard it was to get my guests seated and everyone lined up as well as there job is to make sure guests were served.
Other concerns were that I gave them instructions as to where all the candles were to be lit. None of my patio candles were lit outside. They misplaced my cake topper than eventually found it. Overall, beautiful place but if you want a smooth day. Get a day of wedding coordinator! -

We had our ceremony and reception at the Carriage House. The grounds and the venue itself is gorgeous. Very little decorating required overall. I like that we had the option to customize our menu, bar options, linens, etc. Unfortunately, I felt like the communication, overall, was lacking. On the day of, we had issues with our menu and what was served. They basically made the decision for us, which was not what we would have ultimately picked. We had vegetarian guests and while we were told a vegetarian dish was available, and paid for it, it was not served to said guests. One of the appetizers was also not served. It was very disappointing. The staff was a little cold unless you went out of your way to greet them. It kind of gave off a weird energy. Overall, I would recommend the venue because it is lovely and the food is great-- BUT-- I would stress that you better make darn sure exactly what you are getting. Literally communicate with your coordinator DOWN TO THE HOUR. Seriously. Harass them. Because I thought I did that but apparently, it wasn't enough to be there physically to make the final payment and go through things one last time. Best of luck! -

I had my reception at the Pine Knob Carriage house (not the Mansion)-- the venue was beautiful! Everything turned out amazing when I arrived at the venue.
However, the main issue of the night was the professionalism of the staff. Our head table had paid for champagne for the toasts, there was no champagne in sight- and no one would give us any answers as to why it was not there (we did end up getting it--- after all toasts and after most of the dinner had already been served...) When asked if we could have some drinks... we were told to "Get it yourself".
I understand that there are rules etc.- it was more of the responses/attitude we got from the staff and BARTENDER (one was GREAT the other--- was having a bad day). We had one bartender that was openly complaining about someone at our wedding to other attendants. Very unprofessional.
When the wedding coordinator finally came to the venue (there were two weddings that night) things did get better. She really tried very hard to make things better.
It is really sad how some PEOPLE can ruin a beautiful wedding. The venue itself was amazing and perfect. It was the attitudes that really ruined it for me and some of my guests.

We got married this August (2013) and had our ceremony and reception at the Pine Knob Carriage House. We worked with Lisa from the beginning with all the preparations and she was great with all the planning. Lisa was very responsive to all my emails and questions. However, a few weeks prior to our wedding at a final meeting she mentioned she was going to be on vacation possibly, then on the Wednesday before our wedding she mentioned she would be working but not working at the carriage house that she needed to be at the Mansion. We felt this was unfair since she was our coordinator. She assisted with our ceremony and seemed to be training someone else in the processes. We were promised to get Sharron another person who worked there for 9 years to do our dinner service and we ended up getting the person that was getting trained during the ceremony. We had a lot of issues doing the reception. We had cut the cake right when we walked in but the staff had old paper work that said we were cutting our cake after dinner. The staff left the cake out on the table that had a slice missing through all of dinner. I had to go ask the staff to remove it and start cutting the cake since it needed to be served after dinner. Dinner service was an hour behind schedule and we even had guests ask us if the they were under staffed. Also, another complaint we had from guests if that they took away the cake very quickly people didn't even get a chance to try it. I think this is because most of the staff gets to leave after dinner so they just wanted to wrap up the night, however since they were behind it was very unprofessional to rush our guests. On top of all that the room was unbelievable warm, we had to asked the staff to turn up the AC. Overall we had a good experience leading up to the wedding day but the day it self did not go as planned and we are really disappointed by the staff. We would not recommend Pine Knob to our family and friends. -

The mansion is beautiful- but the staff was rude and not helpful in the least. They charged us for things we never received. The event coordinator didn't ever even introduce herself to me, didn't help out with directing the day or making sure things ran smoothly, and had to be tracked down when she was needed. The food, while absolutely delicious, took an atrocious amount of time to be served- so much so that our guests were getting up and walking around. When it was time to pack up, the event coordinator stood around tapping her foot and making audible snide comments. Although this venue is absolutely gorgeous, overall , I wouldn't recommend it- as there is enough stress during your wedding day- and for the pretty penny we paid to have our event here- it sure was more of a hassle than not. -

We selected the PK Carriage House after we saw its beautiful grounds, outdoor ceremony space, and large reception space. Lisa was easy to work with at first but we soon found out that she was a little pushy when it came to decisions. Day of Lisa was nowhere to be found. Tables outside were not wiped off and the staff refused to wipe them down because they had done it for yesterday's wedding. My husband ended up wiping them down due to rude staff. The ceremony chairs were set up wrong. My husband and his groomsmen planned to have pictures taken at the mansion which was previously approved by Lisa since there was no wedding scheduled at the Mansion. They were yelled at by another woman in the Mansion for stepping foot inside. While outside she continued to yell at them telling them where they could and couldn't take photos. Back in the bridal room, our snack tray arrived about 30 min prior to our ceremony starting and was barely touched. Before my husband was about to enter the ceremony, Lisa informed him that he was walking down the aisle and changing how we rehearsed it the night before. My husband tried to explain to her that's not the way we wanted it, but soon gave in because he didn't want to create a scene. The ribbon across our aisle way was not cut before he walked down the aisle. During our reception Lisa escorted the tables for the buffet. She was not seen the rest of the night. Full drinks were constantly picked up by staff while our guests were dancing. At the end the staff were rude to my parents who requested the remaining wedding cake telling them they didn't know where it was. After telling them they better get the cake they soon brought it out. We realized that instead of cutting our wedding cake first, they cut our extra just in case something happens sheet cake. The whole bottom tier of our wedding cake was still in tact. We specifically told Lisa to cut our wedding cake first. Beautiful grounds, TERRIBLE service which is too bad.... -

Unfortunately, I agree with most of the things the above reviewer said HOWEVER, I did like Lori. She did a good job handling everything on our wedding day and made things easier for us. Although we had a great wedding- the planning process was not great. I agree they really just run like any other business- they seem to be concerned with getting your money but not making your planning or stress any easier on you. I also felt like they were somewhat hassled by our concerns and questions and weren't very eager to talk us through details and help make us feel confidant about our plans. Other than Lori -I feel the staff is not warm or friendly nor do they really make a bride and groom feel special or valued at all. I will give them credit for this- the food was excellent, the bartenders were awesome and the ambiance was good. Our guests loved everything but I agree it was very expensive and for the what we paid and the issues we had I am not sure I would do it there again. -

I had a great wedding day thanks to my other vendors. pine knob was very difficult, stressful, and aggravating to work with. Lori, our coordinator was very unprofessional the day of the wedding. I asked a friend to deal with the vendors the day of and I had to ask about 20 people to try to find Lori and introduce her to people so things could be done properly. the food was great and i was very happy with the bar tenders. leading up to the wedding was very stressful dealing with pine knob. they never contacted me, and every time i contacted them they seemed annoyed that i was calling and they never knew the answers to my questions. thank goodness for my other vendors that made things run great because lori was extremely unpleasant to work with. my wedding day was the best day of my life, but if i were to change one things it would be the venue. people loved it, but it was expensive and stressful to deal with. -

Really beautiful location. Feel in love with it right away! Such a nice location to have a ceremony. We choose not to have our reception there, just our ceremony. The pleasantness ended after we signed the contract. We worked with a Diane, who is the general manager. They were terrible to work with! Numerous calls that I made, ended with me feeling unwelcome and that I was taking up their time. I really felt like just a profit to them. They were concerned with business, not brides.
On the day of our rehearsal, it was cold and we were waiting for all people to arrive. We stepped in the building to stay warm, and they asked us to leave the building because they set up a room for tomorrow's wedding. We were nowhere near that room so I don't see what the problem was. They were being stand off'ish and a little stern by not letting us use the building for our time reserved. Also on the rehearsal, we needed to use the outdoor plugs to time out our ceremony music with the coordinator. They said the would not turn on the power for us, we can only use power on the wedding day. So our rehearsal was cut short. They were not flexible or helpful at all. Quite terrible to work with.
It gets worse! On the day of the wedding, I arrived at the Mansion no one was around. The hallway to our room was blocked off by purposefully placed chairs. Finally, someone came up to us and told us we couldn't use our room I reserved for us and pointed us elsewhere down dark hallways and dark stair cases. They had no explanation for that. They also messed up what room I had reserved, even though I had called their facility nearly a dozen times in a year. (Yet again, we're greeted with another uncalled for "no"!) The staff should have escorted us to to our new location to be helpful, especially after they said we couldn't have the room we reserved. They might be familiar with the layout, but we had no idea where to go. Staff was not helpful. As we went to the room, no lights were on, and when we got to the room, it was freezing and no lights were on (the rooms should have been lit and ready for us! A true warm welcoming for the special day!!), After guessing where else we needed to be Diane the manager then noticed I was there, and came up to me and said, "Now, you must leave the ground by 2....okay? Everyone off of the grounds by 2pm!" It would have been nice if she said, 'Hello, you must be Miss Blank, how are you today? Let me show you your dressing room.. can I get you a water?...' She was very rude by not even greeting any of us with a proper "Hello" and instead immediately telling me when I needed to be off their grounds. Once again, my bridal party, and mother commented that they felt very un-welcomed in their establishment.
Another concern for other brides to be aware of. They didn't want guests to walk through the Mansion (even though I paid $300 for valet, partially, so guests could walk through the Mansion to experience it's beauty. They also didn't let us to use the library to sign our marriage license, even though I paid for my time in the Mansion.
I paid $1,500 and essentially their only service to be preformed was for them to set up chairs, and they didn't even do that right. We were 10 minutes away from the ceremony starting, and they're still setting up chairs! My guests were standing on the patio, waiting for them to finish. Setting up the chairs should have been completed well before the ceremony. They
Expect the woman to say, I've worked here 15+ years, we don't ever do that, or can't do this, or have never received that kind of request... Again, belittling you for your thoughts and questions. Just because you've worked there 15+ years, doesn't mean you're any good at making your business look good.
Pine Knob gets away with treating their clients like this, because they can.. they have a beautiful location, but the worst customer service. Expect to feel like you are unwanted and wasting their time.

I had my wedding at the Pine Knob Mansion on July 21st, 2012. It was a difficult wedding to plan because I was out of state, and Lisa at Pine Knob did a fairly good job responding to my inquiries. The best part about Pine Knob is their facility. The mansion and the gardens are among the most beautiful in the state. However, the food was AWFUL. We were not allowed to do any tasting before the wedding, and were forced to choose from a menu. For the wedding reception, Lisa was no where to be found, and the head waitress was in charge. We started dinner 45 minutes late. The filet mignon was overdone, and the chicken was hard and cold. Our head table didn't even have water. During the dancing portion of the evening, an older man whom I had never seen before came into the wedding and started yelling/swearing at the band and DJ that they were in breach and that he was going to shut down the whole wedding because we hadn't closed the doors to the gardens because of noise laws. He was completely RUDE and made a huge scene at the wedding in front of all the guests. I was SO embarrassed as the bride. He husband went over to talk with him to calm things down, and he proceeded to swear and yell at him as well.
Toward the end of the evening, we noticed that we had paid for 2 bartender and there was only 1. She also closed the bar down a 1/2 hour earlier than we paid for as well.
I would not recommend this location to anyone unless you absolutely love the location. Otherwise, go some where else. -

Horrific treatment by General Manager and Coordinator
While my wedding day was magical, I am disheartened by the way my husband, myself, and our family were treated by the wedding coordinator, Corinna, and the General Manager Kurt . Two months prior to my 9.19.2020 wedding Pine Knob contacted us regarding new packages they had created to accommodate Covid-19 restrictions. My husband and I decided to go with the ceremony only package and just have a small wedding ceremony. Pine Knob made changes as needed and was easy to work with. Then two weeks prior to my wedding, Pine knob contacted me stating that the wedding that would occur on 9.20.2020, the day after mine, had rented a tent that would need to go up the Thursday before our wedding and would be in the background as we said I do. They then retracted this statement to say the tent was actually a permanent structure for the rest of the 2020 wedding season which we would realize was a lie on our golf trip the following weekend. I know what you are thinking, a little dramatic over a tent. However, we tried to reason with them to delay the tent, offering extra money to put it up after our ceremony as we understood that they may be facing financial distress due to COVID. Pine know gave us three options: 1. A full refund and to go elsewhere, which was not an option 2 weeks out. 2. Be married in their Garden area which had no lighting and would be dangerous to walk down to in heels and a large ball gown. 3. Drape the polls in the background with Garza. Note the polls were not the issue, the tent being visible in the background was the problem. As we had no choice we decided to continue on with the tent and we never uttered the words that we were considering canceling and I accepted that this was just another thing I had to deal with. Now this is what upset me most, the day of I requested that the doors be open an hour early for hair and makeup. Which was confirmed the night before with Corinna. When arriving the doors were locked and no one would answer phones. Fast forward to 1.5 hours before the ceremony, there are no Pine Knob staff to be found and when the GM finally showed up he began putting out lawn chairs, my mother then informed him we wanted Chivari chairs. He began yelling and pointing at her claiming that we had canceled and that he had been trying to reach us all week, a lie that we later confirmed with our phone records. When I confronted them the next day, they did not apologize for being rude to my mother they simply said they were sorry I was unhappy and began to try and blame everything on me and claim they also offered that I get married on the golf course, which they did not, I have the emails to prove it. They also claimed we did not provide a guest count and all the final details, which I have email proof we provided it the same day they asked. While I am happy for the couple who's wedding ran smoothly the day after ours, I am truly upset that the staff at Pine Knob felt they could not accommodate both couples and would treat us as if we were inferior and a bother to them.

Dinner service took over an hour once guests had been seated causing a schedule back log which led to the live band, being contracted for 3 hours, only able to play for 1.5hrs. The staff drank the bridal champagne and we overheard them in the kitchen: “Is anyone here sober? You need to start drinking!” May explain mistakes made during it such as: a number of vegetarian meals being forgotten, the best man never received his dinner and the wait staff responded defensively by insisting that we had miscounted prior to the wedding. Poor and combative attitude from the bar tenders, who demanded tips from guests (paid in advance by family). While the groom is on the phone making arrangements with a local bar and cab company in effort to get transportation, he begins to complain to his best man. An older man overhears the complaints about the cabs and local bar and misinterprets them as complaints about Pine Knob Mansion. He interrogates and insults the groom and best man. The groom tells him to walk away and mind his own business. The man, claiming to be a security guard refuses to walk away and threatens to call the police. The family is then chased out by him screaming “say one more word!” “ungrateful brats!” “where are your parents?”. As we exit under the screams of the older gentleman, he slams the door violently as the bride’s parents are barely out the door. The bride returned to the door because she had not collected all items. She was not permitted back in to collect her belongings.
After the wedding, we advised the manager and sent a detailed email regarding the incredibly poor performance and received no response until she wrote the registered owner. She was contacted and told the “owners” wanted to meet with her. Just like the false representations made initially by Pine Knob, only one alleged owner, the older man and bar manager, who made untrue allegations, appeared. Such a meeting would be worthless and therefore we left. -
