Y'all... I searched high and low for a caterer who was delicious, affordable, and responsive. After one phone call with John, I knew that we were in good hands. He is humble, kind, and very experienced.
Leading up to the wedding, John made a point to connect with the staff at our venue and checked out the kitchen situation. I didn't have to organize this, he just wants to do a good job and know how he can best serve his couples. We met him in person for a tasting a few months before our big day, and we were blown away by the BBQ he prepares.
Our menu was a quesadilla bar (cocktail hour) and BBQ pulled pork, mac n cheese, and a salad. Pig and Pie also brought water, lemonade, tea, and other soft drinks + helped us cut/serve our cake.
John and his staff was incredibly helpful the WHOLE day. They dropped things off the night before, and John made a point to tell me that he was already preparing to smoke the pork and it would blow everyone's socks off! And it did!! We received rave reviews from our guests. We had almost 230 guests, and Pig and Pie served them all with ease!
John and his staff would check on us and bring us drinks throughout the night, and they know that couples hardly eat at their reception. For this reason, they prepared to-go platters for us to eat once we got home. This was sooo appreciated!
What a blessing it was to have a vendor who took everything food-wise off our hands. We had NO worries and felt free to worry about the million other things on our plate.
You can tell that John really cares about his couples. I'm blown away by Pig and Pie, and I wish I could eat their food every day!! I would recommend them to anyone. -

John is truly one of a kind, and we are so grateful we booked Pig and Pie to cater our wedding reception last week! John takes so much care for each of his couples to make sure that catering is the least stressful part of the planning process. He worked with us to create a menu that met our needs and felt personal to us, and everything tasted amazing! He and his team were so attentive and made sure every single one of our guests was taken care of. We are so grateful Pig & Pie Catering was a part of our day! -

Pig & Pie threw down an amazing spread and delivered in every way. Great service and professionalism from the team both leading up to the wedding and the day of. John is patient and happy to talk you through any questions along the way. Also, they're affordable compared to other caterers and they do not skimp on presentation. All the food is laid out and served in a way that's aesthetically pleasing and suits the vibe of any venue, and it's darn good. Lastly, they do a great job handling allergies; my wife and a few others had a gluten allergy and they were taken care of perfectly--including with gluten-free mac & cheese. If you just stumbled across Pig & Pie, don't look any further. -

For anyone wanting to incorporate a taste of Southern cooking and the hospitality that goes with it into their event, look no further than Pig & Pie. We worked with Pig & Pie for our wedding on 10/18 and had an amazing experience. John provided a very special experience. I've been to many weddings and this was the first that I noticed 15+ people getting up to go back for seconds. Pig & Pie's menu centers around homestyle southern cooking in a format that's accessible and friendly to any palette and can be tailored to acommodate various dietary restrictions.
Our hors d'oeuvres were the meatballs, spinach dip, and shrimp cocktail. For the dinner service, we elected to make the make the sides vegetarian which still ended up being delicious. The smoked chicken was my personal favorite meat dish, however the pulled pork and brisket were fantastic in their own right. Also don't skimp on the sauces that they provide. Buffet service can be a mixed bag when you involve large groups of people, but John and his team work a great system that had all 110 of my guests back in their seats with food in under 30 minutes.
A few other reviews mention this as well, but it really is a great touch that John goes up to each table and makes sure that everyone's been taken care of. He went out of his way to introduce himself to mine and my spouse's parents as well which we appreciated. It makes the guests feel like they're a part of the special occasion that weddings are. Can't thank this team enough for the great service and personal touch that helped make our day so special! -

John was nothing but the absolute best. From the first time we met to try his food and go over prices he was nothing but nice and professional. His food is also outstanding! The fried catfish and his wings are the best around. His food brings a unique and different vibe to what most traditional wedding food is. Not only did my wife and I love but all of our guests were in love with the food. With the food being as good as it is you would think it would come with a hefty price tag…well guess again cuz not only is John and excellent chef, he is practical and keeps it low cost, which is saying something because he could easily charge double for what he makes. I would also like to mention that he was on time and on point with his set up. He and his family are also very interactive with guests which adds to the awesome experience he already provides. I 15/10 would recommend Pig and Pies to serve your wedding! John you are awesome and we are so thankful that we found your business and were able to share our wedding with you!

We felt like family
John and everyone who came with him were such a treat to work with! The pulled Pork was absolutely delicious and their chicken was so well seasoned and juicy! All of their sides were fabulous and all our guests couldn't get enough. The desserts were amazing as well! Pig & Pie just catered our wedding last weekend and I still have people telling me how amazing the food was. It was exactly what we wanted and the service was amazing!! I could not have asked for a better dinner or catering service on my wedding day! I am a super picky eater, but I ate and LOVED every single thing from Pig & Pie. Their menu is set up so perfect. It was super easy to get exactly what we wanted and it was super affordable for the quality and quantity of food we got!!Pig & Pie Catering's reply:

John and his team were an absolute pleasure to work with. John's personality and professionalism were apparent during every part of the journey. He was so kind and the food was amazing during the tasting. We got to piece our menu together with our favorite things. During the wedding, the guests were raving about the brisket, pulled pork, chicken fingers, mac' n' cheese, potatoes, and salad. People were asking for his business cards that night and the following days. He took care of us and our families, and was the last staff there taking care of us at the end of the night. -

Pig and pie was the first and only caterer we sampled for our wedding. He already has so many amazing g reviews, and from the first bite of food my husband and I knew we didn't need to look any further. Not only was the food amazing, it was also the largest variety we had seen for BBQ. He went above and beyond in every aspect, from timely responses to making himself available not only to me but to my parents as well if they had any questions. My mom called him a few weeks out and the first thing she said to me was "he was so kind!" And that kindness continued to show throughout my wedding day. He stopped setting up while I was waiting to leave the reception space to walk down the aisle and came over and talked to me while I waited for my dad, asking me if I was nervous/excited, etc, and he did the same throughout the day to my husband when he would see him. During dinner he didn't just stand at the food and serve it either. He not only came up to us multiple times asking if we needed anything, but I found out later from numerous guests that he went up to each table and asked if the food was okay, do they need anything, can he do anything to make the experience better, etc. You just don't get that with other caterers and my husband and I agreed that night if we ever need an event catered again we will always use Pig and Pie. -

Amazing service and delicious food!!
A thousand percent recommended! We got an incredibly good menu on our wedding day and could not have gotten better service. John took care of everything on our big day and made sure that even our families were taken care of! You cannot go with a better pick in Nashville.Pig & Pie Catering's reply:

We are so fortunate to have chosen Pig and Pie for our wedding catering! The owner is so friendly, prompt, and professional. His bbq is amazing and even my husband who is hyper critical of how Southern food and bbq is done was so happy with it! All of the guests were so pleased with their meals. In addition to the delicious food, the owner is so kind and wants your wedding to be perfect just as much as you do. He is so reliable and even made friends with the guests! If you want a true, stress-free, southern-comfort experience with hot, fresh food, choose this guy! -

Amazing service

Pig & Pie was incredible from the start. Super responsive and always made sure we knew that they would take care of everything to make our day perfect. John had so much flexibility and ideas to help us make the right decisions for our guests. At the wedding, the set up was amazing, the staff were so helpful and nice, and they really took care of everything. We had appetizers and chicken/pork BBQ with sides and mashed potato bar. Everyone is STILL talking about how good it was. They made sure our guests at the table were serviced and cleaned up all around. The service, food, and set up was more than I could have asked for. I can not recommend enough!! -

I chose Pig and Pie Catering based on their outstanding reviews, and John’s helpful communication since I was planning long distance. The beef brisket was hands down the best I have ever eaten! So many of our guests wanted to know his secret recipe. 🤣
Loved the penne Mac n cheese, and the green beans tasted just like my grandmother’s! He brought a large selection of mouth watering desserts. I told him the groom likes anything peanut butter, so he made Jordan a peanut butter pie just for himself. Jordan said he ate it for breakfast the next morning. He also made the bride and groom a to go plate for devouring at a later time. Even though it was a rehearsal dinner, we had about 60/70 people. John greeted all the guests, and even cleared dirty plates himself! As the mother of the groom, John took care of everything so that could sit down, and enjoy the dinner myself. Choose Pig and Pie. John arrived on time and provided samples in our decision making for our rehearsal brunch. Very friendly and answered all our questions, provided the menu and let us know he could do what we wanted. The samples were delicious, so with no hesitation we hired Pig and Pie for our rehearsal brunch. On the rehearsal lunch day, the friendly staff showed up on time and started the brunch set up. The food was good and chicken wings were a hit . We had a fruit tea that was to sweet for us but the sweet tea drinkers like it. We had food left over and even on the next day, the food was good. Highly recommend Pig and Pie. -

John and his team and Pig and Pie are incredible. The food was delicious and had everyone raving. Their custom quesadilla, Mac n cheese bar, and cornbread stations were a big hit! Everything was delicious from the salad to the bbq and grilled chicken to the dessert bar. John and Jackie with Pig and Pie did not disappoint the Yankees from up North…Hahaha!!! He made Tennessee southern country bbq and sides something to talk about for a long time. His food was amazing as I expected and he was super helpful with deciding what to have. I pretty much just let him take charge and impress my friends and family. And that he did. I’m so glad we went with his home made deserts…..He definitely won over our friends with his southern homemade pies and cakes. . He was so organized and just made everything so easy that it just flowed…The bartender was super friendly and everyone loved her also. The only thing I am kicking myself for is not getting some pics of him in his Pig and Pie outfit. So if your looking for good food and great service I can’t recommend them enough. Thanks again John and Jackie and the rest of the crew for all you did to make our day memorable.

John at Pig and Pie was absolutely wonderful to work with. Not only was his food delicious but he displayed the food wonderfully and took care of cleanup. He was full service! Everyone at our wedding thought the food was great. His sauces are to die for! He made the process very easy he helped me to pick out the best options for my guests. With John I felt like I didn't have to worry about a single thing when it came to the food and he worked very well within my budget. He took care of everything! Pig and Pie is the one! John was so nice and accommodating! He was easy to communicate with and offered us a tasting beforehand! We’ve never catered before and I thought it was very refreshing that he told us we had originally chosen too much food. We took out some of our selections and he was so right! John provided me with an assortment of food that I could try months before my wedding. After meeting with him and trying the food, I knew I couldn’t go with anyone else! My husband was deployed at the time that I tried the food, but was blown away by how great the food was on the wedding day. John made everything so easy and even changed my menu for me a few times when I needed to add an item. The mashed potato bar was a HIT! My northern guests absolutely raved about it. John and his staff were professional and a great team to be around! They made my husband and I to-go plates so that we could eat later on that night and the next day. I highly recommend Pig & Pie for anyone looking for a great meal and friendly people! -

Pig & Pie was in the top three decisions we made for our wedding day! John and his team are THE BEST to work with. They catered 2 of my sister's weddings as well as mine - they are practically family. Unbelievable service, incredible food, wonderful experiences will be had by all. John goes above and beyond to help you feel confident in your catering decision by making it the easiest process to narrow down food options, working with your venue to setup/tear down, and anything else he could possibly help you with when it comes to food & drink. Best experience
John and his team at Pig and Pie were so great! We originally met John at a friend’s wedding and instantly knew we had to have him cater our wedding too! From set up, to breakdown, him and his team were nothing short of professional. And the food!!! We’re still getting compliments from friends and family. Most of all, it was great how John was able to work with us through our dreaded covid postponement and bring my vision to life at a later time. Do yourself a favor and book Pig and Pie!!! Pig and Pie has catered receptions for 2 of my daughter’s weddings, and we will add a third in July, 2020. I can’t imagine hiring anyone else. They are professional, always meeting the needs and surpassing the expectations of the bride and groom, and you will not have to turn your hand to clean up once the reception has ended. Their service is superb, and the food is unmatched. You will feel like they’ve always known you, and they won’t forget you after your event! We even asked for items that were not on his official menu that he was happy to make for our wedding.
