Wedding Cake
Louise was a dream to work with! She understood our vision perfectly and helped us decide what would would look the best. She was very accommodating of dietary needs and the cake was delicious! I loved that we were able to do multiple flavors to satisfy all of our guests. -

Piece of Cake has the best tasting cake around! For our wedding, my husband and I did an almond cake with raspberry filling and it was so delicious! We had a basic idea of what we wanted the cake to look like, and Piece of Cake went above and beyond our expectations. It was really beautiful! Many of our wedding guests made comments about the cake to me later, as well. -

Louise was a total pro for our wedding cake. Not only are we vegan, but we also requested the cake to resemble the colors of my wife's bouquet—something that is not easily done! But it came out wonderfully and was truly delicious. Louise also made vegan/gluten free cupcakes for our guests as well, and we received nothing but ravings about them from our guests. Louise is incredibly talented and makes some of the most delicious vegan desserts we've ever had! -

I don't even know where to begin - if you are looking for a wedding cake baker look no further because Louise is the best. My husband and I chose the almond cake with butter cream frosting and a caramel whipped cream filling. We also had a second cake that was chocolate with raspberry filling. These cakes were INSANELY good. The guests at the wedding loved them and multiple people told me afterward that they stole unattended pieces off other people's tables (it's really that good)! We had quite a bit left over because we ordered some extra but it was all gone by Monday morning because we couldn't stop eating it - and my wedding was Saturday night!
The cakes were perfect and Louise was awesome to work with. Highly highly recommend. -

I had used Louise and Piece of Cake Bakery and Cafe for birthday cakes in the past and was always pleased. So when it came to our wedding cake without a doubt I went to her. We had a Gatsby themed wedding and I sat down with her to discuss a vision I had in my mind. As I was describing what I was thinking, she began sketching on a piece of paper. When I looked down, what was on the paper was exactly what was inside my head. It was amazing. During our wedding I had turned around and saw her creation! I could not believe it. It was amazing and beautiful !! People are still talking about our cake and were literally asking for seconds! Thank you Louise for being you and providing us with the best cake we could ever ask for. Xo -

Piece of Cake bakery is a vendor that works closely with the venue that we booked with, The State Room. The cake we had at our food tasting at the State Room was from Piece of Cake Bakery and we loved it, it was delicious! We knew we wanted to use this bakery for our wedding day cupcakes. We booked a tasting and my husband and I went together and sampled different flavors of cake, frostings and fillings. Prior to our visit, the associate allowed us to choose 5 different cake flavors that we wanted to try and she paired their best frostings and fillings for the day of the tasting. We ended up choosing 3 different cupcake flavors and a different flavor for our 6 inch cutting cake to have the best variety. We were able to describe how we wanted the presentation and final products to look. We were very pleased with our choices. -

We used Piece Of Cake Bakery through our wedding venue, Birth Hill Catering, and were absolutely amazed by the cake quality. Our sit down at the bakery was wonderful and they were so attentive to the ideas we had for the design, incorporating three different magazine photos into the perfect cake.
The flavors are unreal. We took one bite out of the vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and was sold. My husband, who doesn't really like cake, could not stop raving about the flavor. All of our guests were amazed about well good it tasted. Simple, fresh and perfect. Many guests told us that they had several pieces and that it was the best cake they had ever had at a wedding!
Cannot wait for our anniversary cake next year! We honestly want to take the 2 hour drive north just to go to the bakery and relive how amazing their cakes are. -

No matter what favor cake you want or if you want regular cake or gluten free or vegan this bakery is the place to go. I had my whole 3 layer wedding cake made gluten free. I have gotten SO may complainants about how moist and delicious it was. One of my best friends is a jeweler and she goes to alot of weddings and she just told me yesterday that our wedding cake was THE Best wedding cake she has ever eaten!!!! You have to check out Piece of Cake Bakery out!!! -

Piece of Cake Bakery stays true to their name sake in that working with them was a piece of cake! We got married at The State Room and this bakery is one of their preferred vendors. Using this bakery not only made my life easier but was a great choice for my husband and I. They designed a cake that was exactly what we were looking for (even matched the color on the cake to swatches of my bridesmaids dresses) and the whole process was hassle free. The cake was beautiful and delicious!! -

Absolutely amazing experience. Working with Louise and her bakery was wonderful in so many ways. She made an incredible groomscake for my rehearsal dinner, which required a lot of planning from a distance over the phone/email. She made the cake EXACTLY how I had hoped and it was the most perfect groomscake which my now husband LOVED so much. On top of that, she made an outstanding birthday cake for our grandpa's 95th birthday to be presented at our wedding. All this before I've even got started talking about our absolutely flawless wedding cake. Each of these cakes were so custom and so insanely delicious, I would recommend Louise and Piece of Cake to anyone and everyone for any event needing any dessert of any kind. She and her bakery are both wonderful!!! Thank you SO much, Louise!! Tim and I can't wait to work with you again soon!!

The taste testing was a lot of fun and the owner was willing to make anything we wanted. Our wedding cake was beautiful and came out just as we wanted. Luckily we live close to this bakery, as we are always stopping in to grab some of the delicious cupcakes and baked goods from the front counter! -

Piece of Cake was one of cake vendors listed thru our venue. It was the first and last place we went to look for our wedding cake. We tried a bunch of different cake flavors and frosting, everything that we tried was excellent. Our guest all raved about the cake as well. We communicated via email during the planning process & I even changed me vision on the cake a few months before the wedding and that was no problem at all to change. Louise was great to work with. Will definitely use Piece of Cake for other events in the future. -

You won't be disappointed! Louise is fabulous to work with and nailed our cake, perfectly! We're a very easy going couple and we didn't have a lot of vision of what we wanted but when we consulted with Louise it was great! I didn't have to worry about anything! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed working with Louise from Piece of Cake Bakery and Café. Louise was attentive and responsive to what we wanted. She offered suggestions when we needed help and guided us through the process. She has excellent communication skills and made the process easy since my wife and I were from out of town. Loved the tastings as well - so many varieties and options. Louise was thorough in advising us on pros/cons and risks/benefits of certain combos. It was a fun experience.
She also crafted a deliciously beautiful cake for my friends bday which happened to be the same day as the wedding.
The final result were two cakes that were enjoyed by all. We ate it all and didn't save any till our one year anniversary - that is how good it was!
I would highly recommend Louise and Piece of Cake Bakery and Cafe. -

Picking out our wedding cake was a fun experience!
The day of our wedding. Seeing the wedding cake for the first time was so magical! We had 3 different flavors, all amazing! Almond was by far my favorite-
We were given the top 4th layer to take home and enjoy 1yr later. We couldn't wait! We defrosted and ate it on Valentine's Day!!!! So delish!

One day my fiance and I decided to check off our wedding cake from the ever growing to-do list. We had a few places in mind but our first stop was to Piece of Cake. We were just expecting to get a brochure or some information, but Louise sat down with us right then and there and went over everything and even let us schedule our tasting. We felt very good about that initial meeting and after the tasting, where we stuffed ourselves full of her delicious cupcakes(!), we knew we made the right choice. We found the perfect cake topper to go with our cake and everything else Louise came up with. We wanted simple, but not plain, with a little hint of Fall, and it was perfect. And the cake tasted fantastic! All of our guests thought it looked beautiful and were surprised at how good it tasted, as wedding cakes are typically not always the best.
If you want your cake to stand out and have someone super sweet, I definitely recommend Louise and her bakery! -

My husband and I recently got married and have not stopped hearing compliments about our wedding cake. We were getting asked left and right during our whole wedding who did our cake. We had a christmas winter wedding and Louise, the owner of Piece of Cake, did a complete customary white and gold castle cake. This cake looked so perfect we were actually sad to even cut into it. Once we did though, it was unbelievable how great it tasted. I would absolutely recommend Piece of Cake to anybody. She is one of the nicest people I know, very professional, and so doing what she is meant to do. -

Our cake was from Piece of Cake, but included in our catering package. The staff were a pleasure to work with, and the cake choices were amazing! We loved the almond cake; however, we had some nut allergies in our families, so we decided on a layer of carrot cake with cream cheese filling and multiple layers of vanilla with raspberry filling. The cake was absolutely amazing, and our families raved about it for weeks after! We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a beautiful wedding cake that tastes as good as it looks! -

Louise made the cake for our wedding on 9/21/14, and what a beautiful and delicious cake it was! We had a peacock theme, and I gave her a picture of a cake I loved and an almost exact replica walked through the doors on my wedding day! Our guests loved how the cake tasted, we had two layers of white cake with strawberries and fresh whipped cream (for the bride) and a layer of chocolate cake with chocolate filling (for the groom) and both were so so good! I would happily recommend Piece of Cake Bakery to anyone looking to get married in the capital region! Thank you Louise! -

Louise at Piece of Cake was so lovely to work with! She did my bridal shower cake and worked with my mom on that- and my mom insisted I go there to discuss wedding cakes. After doing several tastings with other places I really didn't feel like going but I'm so glad I did. She was so nice and the cakes were absolutely amazing-- it was not easy to choose which flavors we wanted. We had a 3 tier cake and ended up getting 3 different flavors... it was delicious and looked stunning. We didn't do a cake topper- just had fresh flowers on it and it came out beautiful and tasted even better! -

Louise is absolutely amazing. Reading reviews about how guests would rave about the cakes made think 'who really does that?' But it truly does happen. More than a few of our guests asked where our cake was from and couldn't believe how delicious it was. It was truly beautiful. From the cake tasting to the day of it was easy to get ahold of Louise for questions. She sketched out exactly what our cake would look like and it truly was exactly that. I can not stress enough how amazing our wedding cake was! My hubby and I were married Sept 21 2014 at Thacher State Park and we got a delicious carrot cake with cream cheese filling and sweet cream frosting. We designed entirely a topsy turvy fall color and purple accent 3 tier cake. It turned out far more beautiful than either of us had envisioned. Every one of our guests asked where our fabulously delicious cake was from. It simply melted in your mouth and looked just as sinful.It was reasonably priced and the Piece of Cake crew was nice enough to deliver it right to our venue even though it was off the beaten path. I highly recommend Piece of Cake Bakery and Cafe and will continue to spread the word to my friends! Thank you Louise and staff for making our special day amazing it would not have been the same if not for you guys! -

Not only was Louise SUCH a sweetheart...but her cakes were THE best I've ever had before!!! She made picking out our cakes a "piece of cake"!!!! They were delicious and absolutely gorgeous. All I had to do was show her what we wanted and pick out the flavors, and she handled the rest! This part of wedding planning couldn't have been any easier, and I'd go back there any day of the week to grab some delicious pastries to indulge in!!!! If you're looking for the perfect cake, or pastries for your wedding or event...Piece of Cake Bakery is the place for you. Not only are the cakes beautiful, but the service we got was beyond phenomenal!!! 5 out of 5 stars in our book!!!!!! -

We used Piece Of Cake for our 8/31/14 wedding. The staff were kind and professional and very easy to work with. We went for a tasting and had such a hard time choosing what kind of cake we wanted, it all tasted so delicious. Our cake came out so beautiful and tasted incredible! -

I cannot say enough positive things about Louise and her cake!
Every single flavor of cake she makes is amazing. Thank god my fiance had the presence of mind to methodically choose flavors because I was just overwhelmed with deliciousness!!! We ended up leaving with several cupcakes, cream puffs, and eclairs and a beautifully designed cake. When I brought the goods home, my mother cried (!) at how good the cupcake was!
The wedding cake was no exception. It was so so so beautiful and tasted AMAZING. Even "non-dessert" people loved it! The banquet staff at the venue even commented on how good the cake was.
11/10, would recommend this to anyone and everyone on the planet. -

Piece of Cake makes not only beautiful cakes but delicious one's too. After meeting with her and tasting her cupcakes their was no question which bakery we were going to use. They just seem to melt in your mouth and were not overbearingly sweet like some other bakeries. She is the sweetest woman who has a lot of talent and really knows what she is doing when it comes to wedding cakes. I plan on using Piece of Cake for other events in the future. -

Louise was such a pleasure to work with...and is a very talented baker! We live in NYC and had our wedding up in the Berkshires. My husband is a die hard sweets fan and has tried almost all the bakeries in NYC, and then some. He is a tough critic!
When we went for our tasting we fell in love with Louise's delicious cake, my husband has named her the "Magnolia's of the Berkshires" She is truly talented and passionate about what she does.
She is also creative and with my husband created a banana cream pie shooter to have along with the cake. They were delicious! He described to her what he wanted and she created it and they were perfect.
Louise is also a wonderful person to work with. She was responsive and attentive to all of our questions and helped created the design of our cake as well as recommend other options. We already cant wait for our first anniversary to order a cake from Louise to celebrate...and we will drive 2 hours to go get it...she is just that good! -

Actually, we decided to forego the traditional wedding cake and had pies instead. Piece of Cake came through with great tasting pies that everyone enjoyed. She was even able to deliver a vegan, GF apple pie that enabled all of our guests to have dessert. It was easy to order and the pies came fresh and on time. -

Let me 1st say that Louise is amazing to work with. We had a horrible experience with another bakery just before we went to her. My husband and I walked in with my 2 bridesmaids, and sat down. She had about 8 cupcakes for us to try with fresh fruit, raspberry puree, and home made whipped cream. We literally took one bite of a vanilla cupcake and both looked at each other and said "this is it". Louise blew our expectations. She was so awesome. She sat with us and worked on the design and how we wanted it. My husband was very insistent that we not do "the norm" round or square just on top of each other. So Louise did a twisted square with butterflies going up the side. We had 4 cake layers to chose, and let me tell you that was so tough......Everything we tried was so good. She worked with us that the 1st layer was vanilla cake with a layer of raspberry puree, then a purple colored vanilla, then fresh raspberries with whipped cream, then another layer of vanilla. The 2nd tier was her caramel almond. (this was my favorite-our top layer was this too). The 3rd layer was carrot cake, I am not a fan of carrot cake in general but this cake was so wonderful and tasty. Everyone and I mean everyone raved about the cake. One cousin ate about 6 or 7 pieces of it, since he loved it that much!! We live in Connecticut so every time we had to go up to work on the wedding we would stop and get a few cupcakes, pastries and cakes. Everything Louise makes is so tasty and delicious. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone. She has gluten free foods that are so moist and delicious and you would never know that was gluten free. Thank you so much Louise for making our cake beautiful and amazing. -

Coming from a bride who initially did not want a wedding cake, I was blown away by ours from Piece of Cake! Louise was absolutely wonderful to work with. I am not a huge lover of cake, but sampling her carrot cake turned me right around! Carrot cake is just about the only kind I enjoy and this was by far the best! I also have to commend her on dealing with a bride who had no vision of what I wanted my cake to look like. We sat down, created an idea and shortly after I sent her a picture from pinterest and she completely exceeded our expectations. The cake was just as beautiful as it was delicious. Since my cake was included in my package at The State Room, it's easy to say it was worth every penny. However, I recommend any bride and groom sample these amazing cakes and you will quickly see why it was so easy to choose Piece of Cake! -

I had never heard of this bakery but it came recommended to us for our wedding cake. We went a tried samples and we were sold. Our cake we not only Beautiful but the best tasting wedding cake I have ever had. My guest couldn't stop talking about it and I had people having more then one piece. One word says it all DELICIOUS!!!!! Also they are more then happy to help make your dream cake come true and no ideas no worries she has books. Our cake had a bride on top and a fireman groom climbing a ladder up the side, we wanted something a little different. Our cake was PERFECT! -

Louise provided amazing cake service for our wedding. I first met her at a bridal show, and she had various little cake bites on display for taste testing. They looked adorable, and I loved having the option of variety, so I asked her to replicate that same idea for my wedding! Instead of one big cake, we had 8 different types of little cake pieces and mini cupcakes. It was perfect! Louise is such a sweetheart -- SO easy to work with! I will definitely continue to stop in her bakery shop on Route 20 in Schodack for some sweet treats!!! -

Louise and the staff of Piece of Cake Bakery and Cafe did a wonderful job making our wedding cake. We were already familiar with the quality and affordability of their cakes because they had made a number of them for my nephew's birthdays. They offer a number of cake types, fillings and frostings to choose from so you can find the perfect combination! At our first meeting, Louise sketched the exact cake we were looking for with decoration and coloring to match. When we went for a sample tasing, the very first piece we tried ended up being the one we decided on. We were more than happy to have extra left over to take home and enjoy after our wedding including th cake top which we have saved for our one year anniversary. We would definitely recommend Louise and her staff at Piece of Cake Bakery and Cafe for all of your wedding cake (or any bakery) needs! -

We began our wedding cake bakery search early in the planning process and were excited to start tasting cakes, icings and fillings. We tasted MANY cake combinations but couldn't seem to find anything that wowed us. Then we were directed by our wedding venue to go see Louise at Piece of Cake Bakery. Setting up an appointment with Louise to pick up samples was super easy. She had everything ready for us when we got there and was extremely pleasant to talk with. Tasting Louise's cakes gave us the WOW we wanted to feel from the start of our search. They were all simply delicious. Now the task was picking the one we liked the best! After choosing our flavors we met with Louise to go over our design. We had an idea of what we wanted to do but were unsure what it would actually look like. She grabbed a pencil and started sketching for us. It was really impressive and helped us to see our idea drawn for the first time. It made Tom and I feel 100% comfortable and confident in Louise. On our wedding day the cake was beautiful and tasted amazing. It was moist, sweet and scrumptious! We can't wait to have it again for our first anniversary :) After our wedding I emailed Louise to make a cake for my husband's 30th birthday. We spoke briefly about what I wanted the cake to look like and what I wanted it to say. When I picked it up, I was blown away with how gorgeous it looked. Louise is truly an artist. My husband loved it! We feel lucky to have found such a talented baker in the Albany area who we will definitely order many sweet treats from in the future! -

I first found this bakery at the Birch Hill catering bridal show. We tried every cake and this cake had to be the most amazing cake ever. We went for a cake tasting at 8am the following week! We were given 4 pieces of cake to try, all of which were our choices. We decided on a chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse with sweet vanilla frosting. I brought in a few pictures of what I wanted to cake to look like and it was exactly the way I imagined it. We were thrilled with our cake. Our wedding guests could not stop talking about the cake. We were asked so many times where we bought the cake. When everyone was saying goodbye they complimented the cake. Out of all the bakeries in the area, you must try this place. She will accommodate your needs and ensure you have the best wedding cake ever! -

Piece of Cake bakery was amazing! We had first tasted the owner Louise's cake at a bridal show and we were floored with it. There were many other cake bakeries samples at the bridal show and Piece of Cake was by far the best. Not only was it the tastiest cake that we've ever had, but she also told us about her cakes being made with all natural ingredients. After trying her red velvet and almond cake samples we knew that this was the bakery for us and that those were flavors we wanted in our wedding cake.
Working with Louise was great- she is so sweet and flexible and you can tell that she is very passionate about what she does. The only thing I ate on our wedding day was the cake and it was delicious! A gluten free cupcake was also provided for my younger brother with gluten interference so he could enjoy cake as well. We highly recommend Piece of Cake Bakery and Cafe for your wedding cake- ours was beautifully designed and complimented by us and our guests as being the best tasting cake! -

Well I have to say it was amazing!!! They not only did a beautiful job making the cake my daughter wanted for her wedding, it was delicious!!!
People who normally don't eat cake were eating theirs and commenting that it was the best cake they have ever had.

Best cake I've ever had! I needed a vegan cake for my wedding and Piece of Cake Bakery was recommended by my caterer. She had multiple flavors available for us to taste along with three different vegan frostings. The cake was moist and flavorful and the frostings were amazing. Louise was willing to accommodate us and make a lemon version of her vegan almond cake and it was a highlight of the evening. Everyone went back for more and there wasn't a slice left by the end of the night! The cake looked as good as it tasted, even better than I'd imagined. I will definitely be going back to her for any future cakes. -

I will start with the positive- the product tastes amazing. I don't think I have ever had wedding cake that was that delicious.
Now, our cake was covered in our contract with our venue. Our contact at the venue said to handle paying Louise and we will be reimbursed when we pay our final bill at the venue. This was totally fine, Louise said just send a check sometime during the week of the wedding. We called to see if she would take a credit card over the phone, she didn't answer so we left a message. She didn't call us back for two more days, and said no please just put a check in the mail. We sent a check in the mail that day. On Saturday a few hours before our ceremony she dropped of the cake with her husband and demanded payment because she had not received our check. Her husband was extremely rude to my father, and Louise hung up on my wedding coordinator when she tried to call her to talk to her about what the problem was. We had to write them another check because they didn't believe that we put it in the mail and they acted completely unprofressional on my wedding day. I wouldn't use them again. -

My husband and I chose Piece of Cake Bakery at first to do our wedding cake. These people were extremely nice to us the day we went in there. They offered us Keiche strawberries & creme and coffee. They sat down with us and we chatted for about 2 hours. We decided to go with them while we were there and we made up all the details and left feeling very excited.
Then it began....Louise was the owner and the person we worked with to gather up all the details. I told her while we were there that I need he price for the 3rd tier of the cake and the fondant since that was not included with our package at our venue. Only a 2 tier regular frosting cake was included. I did not hear back from Louise for a week after being there and I live 4 hours from where we got married or else I would have just gone back in.
I got ahold of her other workers and she was always in a meeting or not in today and I told them to have her call me back. She did once and still didn't know the price....this was 1 month before the wedding now. I called again about 2 weeks before the weding and told one of the employeesun (since she was not there....again) that is she doesntold all me back I will have to find someone else to make my cake.
Come abut 1 week before the wedding she called me back and I said look I need the price difference I owe you. We've only got about 60 dollars left now so I hope it's not over that I told her. She said she'd call me back tomorrow. She did and quoted me $125. I said I can't do that much now what can we do about it since you waited until the last minute to tell me the price. She wouldnt budge and became very rude and mean to me. I told her look if you had told me months ago I could have saved. I asked why it took her so long and she said because she had never made a cake design like this....which that there concerned me. I ended up going with the Cookie Factory Bakery who so generously fit me into their schedule 1 week before my wedding. They were great. -
