Words cannot express how amazing Hanakapi'ai is! She was a pleasure to work with before our wedding day, very responsive and had no issues when we had to reschedule our wedding date. Then on my wedding day she was beyond incredible. The moments she captured were absolutely amazing and she went un-noticed while capturing all of these moments. When we received our photos back we were speechless. She sent sneak peek photos in less than two days, sent our full album in two weeks and we have received an overwhelming amount of compliments from guests and family that could not attend on how beautiful the images are. This was truly the greatest experience with a vendor and I would recommend anyone getting married in Kauai to choose Hanakapi'ai as your photographer. -

Can’t say enough about Hanakapi’ai!!!
You will not regret hiring Hanakapi’ai as your photographer! She did the photography for our wedding day- leading up to the wedding day she was very responsive and detailed and answered any questions or concerns I had. I really wanted to try out the rustic/bohemian style of photography for wedding pictures and she went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure everything was just right. She sent me different variations of edits to help achieve the look I was going for and never made me feel that I was burdening her when I wanted to tweak the edits a bit more until they were perfect. She did an incredible job achieving the rustic look I was going for which goes to show her talent in being able to cater to any photography style ! I cannot wait to see the final pictures and being grateful for Hanakapi’ai that she was able to translate the emotion from our wedding day so we’ll into pictures that we will cherish forever. Also I need to mention she was almost 8 months pregnant and she was still getting on the ground lying down to capture the perfect shot!!! Crazy! Such a treasure to work with :). Hanakapi’ai, I wish you all the best with your growing family and career! -

Hanakap’ai and her husband were punctual, friendly, understanding of the pressures of the day and captured everything we wanted to express in our wedding photos and more! Our “Sneak Peak” was ready the very next day and we had all of our photos within 2 weeks – SO FAST! You will NOT be disappointed with her work, our photos are simply amazing and we couldn’t have asked for a better photographer.

Megan Sent on 07/25/2018Hanakapi'ai was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding at Hanalei Bay Resort. When we got our pictures back, we were in awe of how beautiful they were. Hanakapi'ai is so very kind and supportive and a gem of a human being. Her professionalism and knowledge of the resort was exceptional and she is an amazing photographer. Both her and her husband made us feel so comfortable and we were so happy to have them as part of our special day. We could not have been more happier in working with them and our photos are beyond anything I expected.

I asked a friend of mine that is a photographer to look at my choices and give me his professional opinion. Of the three, he chose Hanakapi’ai noting several things about her photography that he liked.
Hanakapi’ai was so much fun to work with. She has a great sense of humor which made the photo shoot fun and less awkward. My husband and I aren’t ones for doing the traditional posed photos. We wanted to show the fun, easy going side of who we are. She captured the vibrant colors and the natural beauty of our wedding venue. I wish I would have booked her longer to capture more of the reception/party. Hanakapi’ai also provided our sneak peak to our photos in a short time. We love our photos! -

Hannah Sent on 05/28/2018My husband and I had our honeymoon in Kauai and decided to have a photo shoot while we were there. Hanakapi’ai was so sweet, flexible, kind, and professional. Her and her husband were so much fun to be with. We were more than pleased with our images as well.
We were most impressed with her knowledge of the island as she’s a local having grown up on the island. I was also amazed by her talent and eye for photography! The photos she took were incredible! If you need a photographer on that beautiful island, she’s the one! -

Preston Sent on 04/13/2018I don't possess the vocabulary to properly say how VERY pleased we were with Hanakapi'ai and the set of wedding pictures she took for us. It was an incredible experience and the final pictures are amazing. Her ability to work with us and get us 'arranged' for the best shot was absolutely perfect. The final photos are the kind of pics you see in magazines and travel guides. Just perfect in every regard. Highly, highly recommend!!

Lisa Sent on 04/23/2018Hanakapi'ai was an excellent choice for our March 2018 intimate destination wedding on Polihale Beach! She is personable, very responsive in answering questions throughout the entire process, listens to what you want (sent her a link to a Pinterest board with photo styles we were looking for aside from the "normal" ceremony photos --sunset, artsy, silhouettes, etc), and made us very comfortable with the process during our event so we looked natural. She had our sneak peek out to us quickly so we could share our day with family and friends, and our full album was ready before she had promised. She truly has a gift and that artistic eye. We are very happy we chose her as our wedding photographer. You will be more than pleased with her work!

Not only did she capture the love that was there on our special day, she captured the people who made it that way as well! She has a knack for capturing the intimate glances that really reflect the feeling of a moment, and creates gorgeous pictures given whatever light the sun, sky and water bring her. I highly recommend her for your wedding needs - such fun to work with, very responsive to communications, and prompt with delivery of the photos. AAA rating all around!

She made us feel so comfortable, kept us on track throughout the wedding and captured beautiful moments throughout the wedding. She even stayed late to make sure she captured every moment. We were so happy with our choice, she cared so much about us and felt just like family. Would recommend her to everyone having a wedding in Kauai. Thank you for making our day so special!

Amanda Sent on 11/12/2017My husband and I got married in Kapa'a on October 23rd at the Courtyard Marriott and Hanakapi'ai was our photographer. She made everything so easy for us. Neither of us love posing for pictures but Hanakapi'ai made it easy and fun like a game. She was easy to talk to and easy to work with and we loved her. Before we got to Hawaii she and I communicated via email and phone and she was very responsive. Her hubby came along to help us all out and got some great shots of the reception while Hanakapi'ai was at the ceremony. They made a great team! Our photos came out better than I could have expected - we had a huge tropical storm ALL day and it they couldn't have come out more perfect. We are so pleased!
