The best!

Lisa and P&P are amazing! Not only is she the best to work with, but the flowers the most beautiful! If you have a doubt, just check out her instagram, you will not be disappointed! It was the most amazing and special day for both of our lives and it wouldn't have been possible without P&P. Everyone who came told us how our flowers were AMAZING. I was absolutely in love with my bouquet, it was exactly what I wanted! When we walked into the ceremony room and saw our chuppah decorated with the beautiful flowers, it was jaw dropping and our dinner tables, JUST WOW! We cannot thank her enough. Truly. She worked within our budget which was so appreciated and when we had an issue with our venue, she took care of everything! It was so seamless working with her. Whenever I have any event, I will be calling her again.

Gorgeous Florals

I had a very focused vision for my June 19th wedding florals and Lisa nailed it with my wedding bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces and aisle florals. During our consultations, she took the time to explain other specific flowers to complement the ones that I wanted that would work best for the color scheme of our wedding! She was able to incorporate my favorite flowers and colors and completely exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Petals and Promises!

Amazing!! Lisa is a dream to work with!

Lisa was wonderful to work with. She knew we were on a budget so she kept us in it but still made everything look amazing. We got so many compliments on all of the arrangements. When I had a last minute change to my table, Lisa revised her plan accordingly and made it all work with no stress added!! She was timely and efficient on the big day. Huge plus was getting to meet her cute pups during our first meeting :) 11/10!!!

Wonderful!

Lisa came recommended by our wedding venue and blew us away with her floral designs! From the moment we met, I knew that Lisa was invested in hearing out my ideas for what I wanted. I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted for wedding flowers (I pretty much just said, "Anything purple!"), but knew there were a couple of flowers that were special to our families that I wanted to have incorporated somewhere in my bouquet and centerpieces. Other than that, I trusted her vision and it totally paid off! Our centerpieces were lovely and full of all different kinds of hearty, purple flowers that would withstand the Virginia summer heat on our wedding day. She also made a special point to include those family flowers in my bouquet and at our sweetheart table. My mom was so surprised and loved finding them when she walked into the reception space. Lisa also included some beautiful crystal vases and candles with our centerpieces to add a little extra detail which guests loved. I also loved working with Lisa because she has so many connections in the industry! She gave me great suggestions for coordinators and other people to talk to as I was planning everything out, which helped our day run so smoothly. I can't thank her enough for helping us have such a beautiful wedding this weekend! :)

Amazing Florals

I cannot say enough about Lisa, she was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. She came recommended by my wedding planner and executed all of the florals for my wedding perfectly. From our first meeting, she was able to take my vague vision (from a couple of pinterest pins) and flesh it out. Even before the wedding, she was incredibly thoughtful and sent me a beautiful monogram three months out from the wedding. She also included candles enclosed in glass that really perfected our centerpieces at no extra charge. On the wedding day, all of the florals turned out amazing and even seemed more abundant than what we had originally planned for. All of my guests commented on how beautiful everything was and I couldn't have been happier.

Magical Fairytale

I don't even know where to begin. Lisa is absolutely phenomenal. From the moment she learned our theme (Harry Potter), until the day of the wedding she was spot on. Lisa is so sweet and went above and beyond. As we were getting ready she saw my flower bouquet and made sure it was in water and primped before walking down the aisle and for pictures. I couldnt find our book page petals for my walk down the aisle and she quickly produced flower petals for the girls to sprinkle. Our flower displays were nothing short of gorgeous. Lisa is an absolute rockstar and you are surely missong out if you dont book her to be your floral goddess! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Lisa!

Lisa of Petals and Promises was such a joy to work with. I talked to several florists and received multiple quotes before selecting Petals and Promises for our spring wedding. Much of my decision came down to Lisa's calm, helpful, and instructive demeanor. Like many brides (and grooms), I did not know much about wedding flowers before the wedding planning process and was overwhelmed by all of the choices. Lisa made things so simple and was frank and direct with us about what we needed and didn't need. Moreover, she is SO TALENTED! I simply loved my bouquet and got so many compliments on it. It added the dazzle to my wedding outfit. The bridesmaids' flowers, centerpieces, and venue decorations were also gorgeous. I loved hearing from my groom that she came to the rescue in getting everyone's boutonnieres on properly. She was so kind and calm during the big day, and that helped me stay calm as well. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

From start to finish, Lisa did a wonderful job with our wedding! I confess I was a bride with little idea of what I wanted (but pretty good idea of what I didn't want) and Lisa really listened to my likes and dislikes and put together a beautiful look for our big day. Both the ceremony and reception looked better than I could have imagined. She also worked very closely with our venue to make sure some of the more complex pieces worked in the space and that everything was executed to perfection. If you're looking for a creative, personalized florist for your wedding I highly recommend Lisa and Petals and Promises!

Lisa from Petals and Promises was wonderful to work with! When we first met, we had our color scheme and a few pictures but were not very familiar with types of flowers, flower designs, or what flowers would be in season at the time of our wedding. Lisa helped us to design bridal and bridesmaid bouquets, boutonnieres, ceremony flowers, and centerpieces that were exquisite while keeping our budget in mind.

On the day of the wedding the flowers were even more beautiful than we could have imagined. Lisa worked with our vision of bright colors and each arrangement was made with care and attention to detail. She personalized my bridal bouquet by adding a large succulent to match the groom’s boutonniere which was such a unique detail that we both loved. Lisa arrived early to set-up, stayed through the ceremony to help move the ceremony flowers to the head table, and came back at the end of the night to help with cleanup and return of the rented vases. Not only did we love the flowers, we received compliments on them from our guests the entire evening!

Lisa was fun to work with, professional, and her floral arrangements were stunning. We would highly recommend Petals and Promises to anybody!!

I met Lisa at her house after I saw her beautiful designs on her website. I only knew my wedding colors and one design I loved of her portfolio. In one hour of discussion she put together a full design including centerpieces, boutonnières, bride bouquet etc. I was very impressed and convinced.
We just met one more time one month before the wedding to talk one more time and adjust the contract with the final number of pieces and I also added more flowers...
The result was amazing. Each bouquet and centerpieces was so so pretty!
One minor thing is somehow when she left, she didn't add the little flower decoration on the cake, but when my amazing wedding coordinator noticed and called, she came back quickly and the cake was decorated beautifully.
Lisa is very professional and experienced as well as friendly, I recommend her to all busy brides that still want to impress their guests!

We found Lisa via a referral, and from our initial discussion it was clear that she understood our style and vision for the wedding. Since we were planning our wedding from across the country, it was extremely valuable to us to know that we were working with someone who was able to clearly communicate ideas virtually. Our discussions gave us confidence that we were going to have the wedding we desired and she remained flexible throughout the entire process (even when we were making last minute changes).

On the day of the wedding, Lisa arrived on time, set up the florals, and ensured that everything was exactly where it was supposed to be. Her florals were stunning and were great quality. What is also important is that Lisa was willing to work within our budget and still give us the look we wanted. We absolutely recommend Lisa and Petals and Promises for all new brides in the DC metro area!

Lisa was recommended to us by our photographer, who had used Lisa for her own wedding, and we were absolutely happy with the end product. We did not have a specific color palette in mind, but during the consultation, Lisa had several recommendations about what would work well. On the wedding day itself, Lisa not only dropped off the flowers, but she also stayed until the whole venue was set up to make sure that everything looked great.

Lisa at Petals and Promises is an artist with flowers – she has a great eye for color and detail. I found her to be responsive and easy to work with. By spending a little time with her ( 30-45 minutes) in person, talking about our plans and showing her images I liked from her website and pinterest, she created a floral background for our April 2nd wedding ceremony and reception that was fresh, beautiful and added a wow-factor that I wasn't expecting. Lisa and Petals & Promises made our event beautiful. They were able to take our vision and then elevate it to the next level. Lisa was incredibly patient, communicatively, and tailored the design to our personality. Her recommendations were thoughtful and took into account our budget, design preferences, and the season. The bouquet came out stunning, and Lisa was even careful to match the tone of gold in the dress to the accents in the flowers. Additionally, the centerpieces were just as we imagined and made the event absolutely beautiful. The team also took particular care in setting up our tables, selecting the best elements in season, and transitioning the setup between four separate locations used on the wedding day. Lisa was wonderful to work with and created beautiful centerpieces and bridal bouquets for my wedding day. Overall designs were top notch and I received so many compliments on her creative, whimsical and unexpected stylings- she really listened to the vision I had for my wedding and delivered floral arrangements that perfectly complimented it! After searching for the perfect florist for our small wedding, I was so pleased to find Lisa. I loved working with Lisa. She was flexible, easy to work with and I truly felt as if she enjoyed her job. She did not feel like a hired vendor. I had no idea what I was really looking for and she sat with me to go through picture after picture to determine the colors and styles of flowers I wanted. We absolutely loved working with Lisa from Petals and Promises. As my wedding planning process developed, I became very interested in floral design and had a specific look in mind. When my husband and I met with Lisa, we discussed our vision (showing her your Pinterest board is very helpful!) and our budget, and she came up with some amazing ways to make the ideas come to life. On top of it all, she was incredibly kind and welcoming from the start, and couldn't have been sweeter all the way through the wedding day.

I came upon Petals and Promises while searching online, and being drawn in by a really great online portfolio. I only needed a bouquet for me and a boutonniere for my now husband's civil ceremony here in Montgomery County. Lisa was such a pleasure to work with, she really understood my concept and was able to give great feedback/advice. She really took the time to talk and get to know us a little. As someone who knew absolutely nothing about florals/floral design, I was able to walk away from my consultation feeling really confident and happy.

When the time came to pick up our order, I was BLOWN AWAY. My bouquet was absolutely amazing, I had asked for a pink ombre color scheme and this was delivered expertly. Lisa did absolutely gorgeous work putting together flowers for my wedding that perfectly fit my rustic elegant theme. Everyone raved about the flowers in my hands as well as decorating the ceremony and reception spaces. Her pieces for the arch in the ceremony were a perfect touch, and her fresh flowers really made our cake special. The colorful petals she included for our flower girl were a lovely addition and really stood out in the ceremony.

Lisa followed my and my mom's directions and thoughts exactly and was really flexible in working with my budget and finding creative ways to reuse the pieces in both ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. She also made a pinterest page especially for my wedding so I could really visualize what she would put together on the wedding day.

Petals and Promises was recommended to me by a friend, and from my first meeting with Lisa I knew that I was going to have a positive experience. My consultation with her took place at her home office. Prior to the visit she had asked me for my wedding colors. I arrived to find a beautiful bouquet as a sample of what I would get if I booked with her (I wrote the deposit check that day). Lisa was on board with working with my budget, even though it did restrict her a little, I never felt like she was bothered by this. She touched base with me prior to the wedding to confirm that there were no last minute changes. On the wedding day she delivered the most beautiful bouquets for me and my bridesmaids! My husband had given me a locket before the wedding as a gift and she was able to incorporate it into the bouquet last minute. She brought all her own vases and set up the flowers and came to break down at the end of the night. Like most florists she had multiple weddings on our wedding day, but you would have thought that ours was the only event given the attention to detail. We got comments on our bouquets throughout the night, they had a generous amount of flowers in them, Lisa goes all out when she does her arrangements.

We worked with Lisa for our June 29th wedding at the Mount Vernon Inn in Alexandria, VA. She created the bouquets and boutonnieres for the bridal party as well as the flowers for the chuppah (which we rented from her) for the ceremony tent. Everything was absolutely perfect. The chuppah looked better than I could have ever imagined and the bouquets were beautiful. Lisa was also wonderful to work with! She was able to work with our budget and get us what we wanted. I would highly recommend working with her.

Lisa was such a joy to work with for our wedding. I don't know *anything* about flowers and she was somehow able to figure out what I wanted & create THE most beautiful arrangements. She is a delightful person who is so easy to talk to, and I came away from each of our meetings feeling 5x more excited about the wedding. Every last detail came together to make the complete picture, from the amazing succulent in my bouquet to the moms' corsages. She was very flexible and accommodating for setup and takedown as well. As an added bonus she gave us truly great recommendations for other vendors--we assembled a "dream team" thanks in large part to Lisa! :) Overall, we had the best experience and I would 150% recommend her to any of my friends.

We hired Lisa to do a substantial wedding (about 150 guests in July in the mountains of Maryland), and we were extremely pleased with the results. We had a couple of planning meetings at her house, and then we visited our wedding site with her. She listened to our ideas and had plenty of her own, and we ended up with boutinieres, posies, centerpieces, garlands, etc., that were very well suited to their setting, to our taste, and just flat-out beautiful. Our guests gave them many compliments. Lisa also took a great deal of care with repurposing our wedding ceremony flowers for the dining room during our cocktail hour. My understanding from the venue was that she put in more time with this than other florists would have. Brava! As a final note, can I just say how much fun Lisa was too meet with? She is charming, and has adorable dogs. We highly recommend her!

Lisa from Petals and Promises was an absolute joy to work with. My stepmom and I shopped around for a florist who really understood the theme and feel of our wedding. Lisa was instrumental in creating a beautiful setting for our outdoor wedding reception. We had a tent in the backyard of my in-laws house and our colors were navy blue, light pink, and white. Lisa created gorgeous arrangements that complimented our color scheme beautifully. She understood my vision and I could not have been happier with what she produced. Her kind demeanor really made her a joy to work with. She is also very reasonable and accommodating. I highly recommend Petals and Promised to anyone looking for beautiful floral arrangements.

The flowers were gorgeous. Voluminous. Fresh. Exquisite. Romantic..and yet playful. The bridal bouquets were stunning. Lisa took care of every details down to finding the correct ribbons..which were so important in the end. People loved the navy striped ribbon that coordinated with the bridal parties' dresses. Lisa listened to what we wanted and captured the garden-party mood perfectly. She was a great value...no complaints..only sincere, grateful compliments. Thank you, Lisa!

Petals and promises did an awesome job with the flowers for my wedding. My bouquet was absolutely stunning and my bridesmaids bouquets also gorgeous. Lisa was such a pleasure to work with. Other than my bouquet, I didn't really know what I wanted, but I told Lisa the colors of my wedding and few flowers that I like and she did the rest. This review is long over due, but I only have the highest praise for Lisa. Flowers were not high on my list of priorities primarily because I did not have any idea of what I wanted and I did not want to spend a crazy amount of money on flowers. I was able to tell Lisa the few things I cared about, and she created such wonderful designs. She also was very helpful in discussing budget and had very reasonable costs. The day of Lisa was very prompt and so flexible. We had an arch set up and decorated outside, but when it looked like we might have rain, Lisa quickly set up everything inside. Finally, she was a life saver when it came to one of the flower girls. Everyone had proceeded to go down the aisle at the ceremony except for the flower girls (my 2 yr old and 4 yr old nieces) and my dad and myself. When my maid of honor/sister started walking down the aisle (the girl's mother), my little niece absolutely lost it. There was no one there at that moment besides my dad, me, our photographer, and Lisa. Without missing a beat Lisa quickly scooped up my niece and took her down the hall away from the ceremony. Otherwise, I loved my bouquet, I loved the table arrangements, and I loved working with Lisa!

Lisa was so wonderful in helping us design beautiful flowers for the wedding, and she was receptive to all our ideas as well as providing us with many to consider. Working with Lisa was an absolute breeze. From the initial meeting we were hooked. We loved that she had an actual sample there for us to see when we met. She also really talked out different options and ideas with us to come up with what we wanted. She was also completely flexible as our ideas shifted between booking her and the actual wedding. I could not have been more in love with our flowers. They were even better than I imagined, such vibrant colors and beautiful textures. We recieved so many compliments and I would absolutely reccomend her to anyone looking for flowers!

Wow..what can't I say about Lisa and Petals & Promises.

From the very beginning Lisa was very professional, personable, reasonable, and spot on with turning my floral dreams into reality. I had a bad experience with my previous floral vendor, but transitioning to Petals & Promises was a breeze. Lisa and her team arrived early to the venue, all the arrangements were beautiful, and she made sure to return to me my special pearls (my something old) right before we left for the evening. Throughout the planning process we had to make a few adjustments (adding arrangements, details of placement, adding florals for more participants) and each time Lisa would say "not a problem". Petals & Promises is a great provider of floral genius, budget friendly, without sacrificing quality.

Lisa was great to work with. She asked good questions and didn't try to up sell me or convince me to buy more than I needed. She was wonderful to work with-kind and supportive with great ideas and incredibly affordable flowers for the value. Everything was beautiful, and we stayed within our budget easily. I interviewed a number of florists before deciding to go with Petals & Promises... while all very qualified, none of them held a candle to Lisa.

Walking into her home for my first visit was like breath of fresh air - she is so personable, kind, creative, and caring... not to mention incredibly talented and professional. She delivers on her promises with the most beautiful/quality arrangements you could imagine and for very reasonable prices.

Lisa always made herself available and really listened to what I was looking for. Even when I changed my color scheme - she didn't bat an eye - we simply got back together and repainted the vision. She was so reassuring and patient throughout the entire process.

I would recommend Lisa over and over again - she is the best of the best. You will be so happy and well taken care of if you go with her. I hope I can find a reason again to work with her in the future!

I simply can not say enough about Lisa from Petals and Promises! She is WONDERFUL!!

Lisa Sommer of Petals and Promises is amazing! Not only are her floral designs beautiful, she is such a joy to work with. Lisa was always quick to respond, and she truly cared and listened to what we wanted. She also paid attention to our budget, and made adjustments and suggestions to keep things on track. I felt that Lisa immediately got my vision-she even had examples at our first consultation-and she embraced my unique color combinations and love of candles and mercury glass. She made everything stress-free, and I felt absolutely confident that when I saw everything the day of, it would be perfect (and it was!) When Lisa arrived with the bouquets the morning of the wedding, they were stunning! It was such an exciting moment, as everything started to become real. The colors were so vibrant and all my bridesmaids and my makeup artist were amazed at how beautiful they were. Lisa even attached some special jewelry from loved ones to the stems of my bouquet and checked in on me to see how I was doing. After the ceremony, when we arrived at the reception, Lisa was there to say hi and make sure everything was taken care of. The designs for the reception tables were simply gorgeous. Lisa had brought my vision to life in the most beautiful way possible. She even had special flowers for the cake! Hire Lisa. Lisa Sommers of Petals and Promises was a breeze to work with, and the lovely, lush flower arrangements she created were a huge hit with everyone, and were a significant contribution to my perfect wedding day! I began with a vague idea of what I wanted, and Lisa patiently provided just enough guidance to shape my vision into a plan that fit my dream wedding perfectly. The bridal and bridesmaid bouquets looked gorgeous with the dresses. Guests loved the table arrangements, and every one of them went home with someone--my sister took one all the way back from MD to Hilton Head to put it on her table. The peach roses cake topper and flowers for the side of the cake absolutely "made" the gorgeous wedding cake they adorned. Throughout the planning, Lisa was flexible and accommodating, and I always felt that she truly cared about making my wedding special, even though she does this all the time, and is a true professional. It's rare these days to find someone who pays such attention to details, and who you can count on completely to take care of everything. My mom is tiny and was worried about her corsage overwhelming her. Lisa found a perfectly proportioned cymbidium orchid that my mom adored. In addition, my mom wasn't sure whether she wanted a wrist corsage or pin, so Lisa came prepared for either, and found my mom and personally helped her with her corsage. She also pinned the white calla lilies on the groom's and groomsmen's lapels herself, so they looked perfect, and no one had to fuss with them! At every stage, everything fell into place perfectly and effortlessly, and the results were stunning. I couldn't be more pleased. As a bonus, the cost for the value I received was quite reasonable. If you want beautiful flowers at a reasonable cost and no worries, I highly recommend Lisa and Petals and Promises!

Lisa was great to work with! I only ordered bouquets and boutonnieres - a petals to go wedding :) Lisa met with me in person early on and went through some flowers that I might like. She made lots of suggestions based on my color scheme and we came up with a great combination. She contacted me the week of the wedding to check in on everything and confirmed our pick up time. My dad actually picked up for me so I didn't get to see Lisa the day of but the flowers he brought to me were gorgeous! Very full bouquets and all the flowers were fresh. Everything we had talked about and included in the contract was there, no surprises! They were nicely packed in vases filled with water, which we were able to use at the wedding to display the bouquets around the sweetheart table. We didn't choose to have flowers at the reception but I was very happy with Lisa for the bouquets. Really nice to work with!

Lisa was truly one of my favorite vendors. She was genuinely nice and patient. You see, I am a really stickler for colors and I was looking for a particular shade of pink and blue for my wedding. I can't tell you how difficult it was to get vendors to understand that not every shade of pink is the same. But Lisa was the only person patient enough to understand. She even took us to the flower wholesale location to look at votive candles because the ones we purchased online wasn't the right color. If you're looking for someone who can really provide you an artistic bouquet and centerpieces, you won't find anyone better than Lisa.

Lisa Sommer of Petals and Promises LLC is amazing. Before we met, Lisa asked me via email about my vision for wedding day flowers. I emailed her some pictures I found online. When I arrived to our first meeting, Lisa had arranged two beautiful sample centerpieces she created that perfectly captured my vision. From there, she spent limitless time in person and through email designing the rest of the flowers, including the structure and decorations for our chuppah. Lisa strikes the perfect balance between sharing her knowledge and offering her suggestions and listening to what the bride wants. Lisa was able to create arrangements from at times my pencil scribbles and verbal descriptions. The room looked beautiful at our wedding - better than my dreams! The bouquets were perfection, and the bridal bouquet took my breath away. In addition to her talent and professionalism, Lisa is hands down one of the kindest, sweetest, and most fun people I have ever met. I loved working with her, and hope to keep in touch. Lisa did the flowers for a wedding I planned on 9/29/12. She came highly recommended by one of my favorite florists who was booked that day. What a blessing that turned out to be because it gave me the opportunity to work with an artist! Lisa’s enthusiasm and professionalism came through on every e-mail and phone call I shared with her, and when I met her, I was immediately impressed by her warmth and great sense of humor. Her ability to be creative on a budget is truly unsurpassed. I have seen work like hers before, but only by some of the MOST expensive and sought after florists in Washington DC. That she is able to pull off the kind of flawless, gorgeous work she does working within the budgets of her brides is nothing short of amazing. Any couple would be LUCKY to have Lisa do the flowers for their wedding. She will make you a bouquet that will take your breath away and centerpieces that will have all of your guests ooing and ahhing.

We were so happy with Lisa at Petals and Promises. When we first met with Lisa, she had constructed a centerpiece arrangement based on my conversation with her, and it was beautiful. She had several books for us to look through and was very receptive to our ideas for our wedding. Lisa was also very responsive to email requests as we got closer to the day of the wedding, and I could not have been more pleased with the result. Lisa dropped off all of the flowers at our hotel and the church and reception site beforehand, and then returned at the end of the night to pick up the vases, etc. We got many compliments on the centerpieces and bouquets -- Lisa is very gifted! She also kindly made a beautiful arrangement of flowers to go on top of our top cake, which was a late request on my part, and I was very thankful she was able to accommodate us. Lisa is also very friendly and kind, and it's a great feeling on the day of your wedding to feel like your vendors are friends and supporting you, which Lisa was. It was a joy to work with her and I would not hesitate to recommend her to others.

Our wedding flowers (centerpieces, altar arrangements, aisle decor, bouquets, bouts, corsages, cake topper) were absolutely gorgeous! At our initial meeting, Lisa already had a centerpiece made based just on our email conversations - and it was perfect. She was willing to make adjustments to fit within our budget, had a great selection of vases/containers, and even tracked down the stretchy pearl bracelets I wanted to use for the mothers' corsages. And when I said "I want to add antlers to the head table," she didn't blink an eye, but totally got it!

Lisa was there early on the day of the wedding, and came back herself at the end to clean up. She was fabulously responsive to my many detail-oriented questions, and even recommended a few other vendors when I didn't know where to look.

The flowers themselves were absolutely stunning. We had arrangements of white and green, mixing soft blooms with more natural thistles and berries, and two different centerpiece designs. My bouquet was stunning and lush, and Lisa added the personal touches that I asked for. Absolutely a fantastic florist and person!

Working with Lisa was great! I was one of those brides who had an idea in my head of what I wanted for my flowers but couldn't really articulate it. Lisa came up with exactly what I was looking for, and with her added touches really made our day beautiful. I was so impressed when I walked into our reception and saw our centerpieces. Additionally, my bouquet was gorgeous. Lisa was able to somehow create exactly what I wanted without me having to give her too much guidance.

In general, Lisa was a pleasure to work with. She really takes pride in her work and was there herself on our wedding day to ensure everything was placed appropriately. She was respectful of our budget, and helped us to create a plan that remained within our constraints, but in no way did I feel like we had to sacrifice quality or what we really wanted. I chose Petals and Promises over some very fancy florist boutiques and they DID NOT disappoint! I spoke with Lisa on the phone and via e-mail about what I had in mind. When I showed up for a consultation to which I was under the impression we would go over a few ideas...she already had EXACTLY what I was trying to describe to her already created and presented for me to see! I was EXTREMELY impressed. Other vendors just mulled over a few ideas and threw around random numbers, but not Lisa. She was prepared! Not only was she prepared, but she was AFFORDABLE!! She did not give random prices. She let you know exactly what you were getting and the cost for it all. She is very responsive and hospitable. On the day of the wedding, she and her daughter arrived before the catering crew was ready for her! I had two different centerpieces and they both turned out so beautiful. The colors in the flowers were so rich and vibrant. There were flowers I had never seen before in our bouquets. Orange was the main color to our wedding, and the flowers she used were so fresh, the butterflies couldn't stay away from them!! Orange Monarch butterflies were fluttering around and landing on the floral arrangements during the wedding. I looked as though we placed them there! Everything was absolutely gorgeous. I DEFINITELY recommend Petals and Promises!

Lisa was my flower fairy god mother! I cannot say enough good things about Lisa and her work. If you're looking for a florist who's good at their work and will personally make sure each and every flower arrangement is perfect, look no further and hire Lisa! Not to mention her prices are very very competitive in the market! Brides-to-be, do yourselves a favor and hire Lisa! She is professional, responsive and extremely creative and she'll make your wedding day just as you envisioned, if not better (it was the latter for me)!

Lisa from Petals and Promises did an absolutely fabulous job on all of the flower arrangements for my D.C. Wedding. Living out of state, I only met with Lisa once before my big day, and being extremely type A, I was nervous about selecting my florist. However, as soon as I met her, I knew right away she would do a great job. At our first meeting Lisa had a stunning arrangement on the table when I arrived with my colors. She created the most beautiful bridesmaid bouquets-and mine was stunning full of lush soft gorgeous peonies! My flowers were insanely beautiful! I could not have asked for anything more. Lisa was very organized and did an amazing job at me and my bridesmaid’s bouquets!

I cannot recommend Petals and Promises highly enough! We had a pretty restricted budget for our flowers, but Lisa worked with us, staying positive but still realistic. The prices are extremely reasonable and her work is amazing! I really believe that Lisa's work is the best in the area and I can say from experience that budget is not an issue when it comes to the time, passion, and care that she puts into each bouquet, corsage, and table arrangement. From my first meeting with Lisa I knew that I would not only get beautiful arrangements and bouquets for my wedding, I knew I would get superior service and the ultimate client service experience. I found out about Pedals and Promises after I attended my friend's wedding and saw the most gorgeous flowers and displays I had ever seen. Lisa is amazing at what she does! The flowers are fresh, and she has great insight on what she thinks will look good. I interviewed over 6 florists in person. Petals and Promises was the only florist who took the photos and my wish list into consideration prior to our first meeting. When I arrived for the meeting, there were samples of those flowers arrangements for me to see and touch! I made many changes along the way and Petals and Promises was flexible with me up until the day of the wedding. My flowers were absolutely gorgeous and were to the T exactly what I wanted!!! Petals and Promises was amazing! Lisa is so creative and did a fabulous job! The flowers were perfect and turned out better than I ever imagined. She didn't mind lending a hand and even made sure my train was perfect before walking down the aisle (if you don't have a wedding planner, this is one of those things you don't think of until the last minute). I can't say enough about how beautiful the flowers were. Everyone commented on the centerpieces. My husband even made the comment that Petals and Promises was the best and most flawless vendor at the wedding. It truly transformed my reception and looked straight out a magazine. Lisa was AMAZING!!!! I cannot say enough good things about her. She made the most fabulous bouquet for me that was so unique i got compliments on it all night. Also my centerpieces were something i had seen from another florist in California and they were also very unique. She not only took on the challenge but even called the florist from California to do some research on the best way to execute them. They were fabulous and again i got more compliments on those!!! Lisa was responsive via email and phone, accommodated our requests for changes (several times), and was at the hotel on time with flowers for the bridal party and to set up the arrangements for the ceremony and reception. I asked her to make a change about 30 minutes before we took pictures, and she quickly accommodated the request. I'd highly recommend her to anyone!

Lisa helped talk me through some ideas I had for my wedding, really listened and gave great feedback about my choices/thoughts and helped me to come up with the best design, flowers, and combinations that really captured what I wanted our wedding to look like. My personal flowers were so fantastic I can't even begin to thank her enough for! My bouquet was so unique, and so in theme with my wedding (DC Cherry Blossom Festival). I got so many compliments on the flowers that I know anyone who was at the wedding who needs/wants flowers for anything in the future will definately be calling Lisa!!

When I met with Lisa, she had sample bouquets of what she was thinking based off of what I had told her so far. They were pretty but not exactly what I was thinking, so we spent a very long time looking at flowers and discussing exactly what I wanted. Lisa was extremely flexible and came up with great ideas, while taking everything I said and making it work. She was amazing, very responsive and very affordable. I'm a simple girl who cared very much about her budget. Before I met with Lisa, I had decided we were only doing personal flowers because I didn't care that much and didn't want the cost of flowers to be overwhelming. Due to Lisa's affordability and willingness to work within my budget, I was able to get all the personal flowers as well as 2 arrangements for the front of the church for the same price or less than what I was being quotes at every other place for just the personal flowers. I'm extremely pleased that I was able to have floral arrangements at the church...I was even complimented on them by a groomsman!

I can not recommend Lisa highly enough! Like another bride, I found her at a flower wholesaler while considering DIY flowers. When Lisa said she could do the flowers I wanted well within my budget I thought "why not?". She went above and beyond, exceeding all of my expectations. The centerpieces were beautiful and she had the most amazing holders to put them in which matched the venue's decor so perfectly people asked me if they were part of the venue! What really blew me away though was my bouquet. Lisa totally "got it" when I said I wanted something a bit different, but still somewhat classic. The bouquet included the coolest succulents and had beautiful willow branches that added such a cool movement and texture to it. For someone that was not originally even considering very many flowers, Lisa showed me how amazing they can be at an affordable price.
I also have to echo her other clients in that she is the utmost professional and even a calming presence during an otherwise hectic day. She delivered the flowers on time, made sure they were in the right place, and even came back at the end of the night to pick up the vases so I wouldn't be charged a storage fee by the venue.
Hire Lisa! You won't regret it!!!

Lisa (Petals & Promises) is GREAT. I met her while I was experimenting with DIYing my own flowers and bouquets at a wholesale place. She was not pushy at all, just gave me her card and said to call if I needed help. So my mom and I called and met with her for an estimate-- she was extremely reasonably priced and very willing to work with us, despite it being maybe 2 months away from the wedding date. She put together a really beautiful sample display when we met with her, so we commissioned her to do the altar displays, bridal bouquet, and a few corsages. A couple weeks later we asked her to do the bridesmaids bouquets as well as her fees were so reasonable and totally worth removing the chore from my plate.

On the day of the wedding Lisa helped everything run smoothly. She brough the altar pieces and then took them to the reception site a couple miles away when the reception was over. The bridal bouquet was gorgeous-- I had given her a couple different kinds of flowers that I'd like to see in it and then let her do the rest and she did a great job. She showed me a couple of pictures of what she was thinking of and then ran with it. The bridesmaids bouquets, while simple, were also gorgeous and I was so glad that I didn't have to do them!

Bottom line: I would use Lisa again in a heartbeat. Her prices were reasonable, she's extremely dependable, and her work is creative and beautiful.

Lisa is the very best! It all started with her consultation -- we had emailed a couple of times and I explained what I wanted (which was very modern and different than most wedding flowers), and then I went to go meet her at her house. I was shocked when I got there that she had made a number of sample arrangements based on what I had described, and she had designed exactly what I had envisioned. I didn't even interview any other florists -- I just loved Lisa from the moment I met her and was glad to have her as our florist.

She did all of the flowers for our wedding -- ceremony decoration (including petals on the aisle), bridal party bouquets, bouts, table arrangements, and my bouquet. We had a big wedding, so she had to make a lot of bouquets, table arrangements, etc., and everything was fresh and beautiful.

She is also very flexible. Because of a color change on my end, we had to change the colors of the bridesmaid and bridal bouquets, and she was exceedingly patient. We went to the wholesaler together and worked through many different options. I later found a bridal bouquet online that I decided I really wanted, sent a picture to Lisa, and she said she would figure out how to make it (it was a different, modern type of bouquet). The day of the wedding the bouquet was stunning and exactly what I wanted. She told me that to make sure she got it exactly right she tracked down the designer of the bouquet in the photo and got instructions from her. She is just so industrious, creative, friendly, committed, and reasonably priced, to boot!

You seriously cannot go wrong with Lisa. As a complete sidenote, it was also nice to see her at the reception site the day of the wedding (she waited there until after the ceremony to move some of the flowers from the ceremony area to the ballroom). She is a calming, friendly presence.

I can't say enough good things about Lisa. She started off making me feel totally at ease and really taking the assorted pictures and thoughts I had and turning them into reality. From the moment we had our first consultation, I was sold. Throughout the planning period, she was very responsive to me whenever I had a question and always had a suggestion for solutions.

On the day of the wedding, when she delivered the bouquets to my parents house, my mother cried and hugged her. Throughout the day I received so many compliments on the flowers. And now that I've been gathering pictures from all my friends/family, I've noticed that everyone took pictures of the flowers.

I recommended Lisa to a person I met at a birthday party (I've never done that before and worried that I was being too pushy) I saw her at another birthday party 3 months later and was so excited when the first thing she said to me was that she'd booked her (see review from Jessica below).

Lisa was an absolute Godsend. I first learned about Petals and Promises because a friend of a friend was using its services for their wedding, and I mentioned that I still needed a florist.

First of all, Lisa was able to easily navigate and serve as ambassador, mediator, and interpreter during conversations with 3 very opinionated women (bride, mother of the bride, and a family friend who was the de facto planner). She also was able to take very vague notions and capture the essence of what I really wanted. I think I said "springy, my colors are coral and lime, and I like lillies more than roses." From that she immediately was able to come up with ideas for both tall and short arrangements and then she was able to modify them to our liking based on "hmms" and "what abouts".

On the morning of the wedding, Lisa and her staff were not only on time but early, and we were all at ease in the bridal suite that our vision for the day would come to fruition in her expert hands. True to expectation, she did just that.

The arrangements were absolutely gorgeous, and we got several compliments.

Long story short, the arrangements were exquisite, she worked within our budget, and was the utmost professional. Every bride needs the perfect combination of professionalism and creativity in her florist and Lisa's work transformed an already gorgeous room into something spectacular. I would recommend the services to everyone.

Unless you are blessed with a wedding coordinator that shields you from all the muss and fuss that comes with planning and pulling off a wedding, you will find that as a busy bride you enjoy working with some of your wedding vendors and just don't click with others. Lisa was like my refuge from the storm - she was SO wonderful to work with and every time I thought I might go crazy with all the details she would send me some nice little note and I thought to myself "well, at least the flowers and decor will be beautiful and I have one less thing to worry about! YES!" I loved her style from the minute I took a browse through her stunning online gallery, and her prices were very competitive with other vendors I had visited. She works out of her lovely home (saving overhead costs!) and was highly responsive to all my crazy requests. From creating an old fashioned tussie mussie for my mom, to decorating a horse and carriage, to adding chili peppers to my bridesmaid's bouquet's to celebrate my husband's love of spicy food - she came up with great ideas and was completely flexible to accommodate the style of my wedding. She also did a fantastic job with the reception, creating tall, elegant centerpieces for a seated dinner and simple but striking cocktail table arrangements for the stand-up tables in the lounge areas. I can't say enough good things about working with Lisa - you will be happy with your choice if you select Petals and Promises!

Spring garden dreams come true!

I know next to nothing about flowers but Lisa walked me through the whole process in choosing the right florals for my wedding. We planned our wedding from across the country and Lisa was able to communicate clearly and easily via phone and email leading up to the wedding. It was great to send pictures of what I liked and then see it come to life on our wedding day. We even made a last minute addition (within 2 months of the wedding date, I think even closer) to have a staircase future and it ended up being my favorite part of the wedding. Lisa took an email where I asked explained what we envisioned and was able to send back some pictures to make sure we were on the same page - and when it came to life it was even more beautiful. Lisa was so helpful in selecting the flowers for bouquets and centerpieces. We gave her vague descriptions and she knew just what we wanted. The price was very reasonable. When the cake topper fell off the cake and broke at the reception, Lisa immediately created a new cake topper out of flowers and it looked perfect. I don't know a whole lot about flowers, so my mother-in-law helped to coordinate with Lisa and select the flowers that would be used in the bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, centerpieces, and chapel decorations. Lisa handled delivery, setup, and cleanup of the flowers, and made everything really easy for us on our wedding day. Everything looked perfect, and I absolutely loved my bouquet!

Lisa was wonderful! We truly enjoyed working with her. She is extremely sweet and has a wonderful eye. We got a lot of compliments on the bouquets and decor. I highly recommend her!

Lisa was very enthusiastic and helpful. She came up with some great ideas and was flexible and creative when our venue said we couldn't have candles. She worked really well with our photographers. She worked with my aunt for the bridesmaids luncheon, and everything turned out beautifully there as well. We would definitely work with her again!

I absolutely love Lisa at Petals and Promises. She did my wedding on April 2, with a cherry blossom theme--not the easiest to accomplish considering the amount of cherry blossoms I wanted. From the beginning she was impressive. She had a table scape ready for me when I showed up to her house the first time. Unlike other florists I talked to, she designed me something unique for the very unique venue I had for my reception.

Because cherry blossoms are difficult, she practiced ahead of my wedding on how long she needed to open them. The results were fantastic. My guests are still talking about the beautiful arrangements. She even added some blossoms to the cake table--which we hadn't contracted for. There were a few deviations from the contract in types of blooms that I was a little sad about, but it seemed like those were all caused by quality of flowers available. She and her daughter handled all the setup, tear down, and even transportation of arrangements from the church to the reception, as we reused some arrangements to save on cost. The best thing about Lisa was that I gave her a budget--and unlike any of the other florists I talked to, she stuck with it. If you want gorgeous flowers on a budget, talk to Lisa. And if you have an unlimited budget, I'm sure she can do even more beautiful work for you.

Lisa and her team were amazing day of the wedding! My sister and I had a double wedding and they were very flexible to all the add ons and oddities of such a large and uncommon event. They hand delivered our bouquets to our home (which is really in the middle of no where, thanks again:) ) and we were blown away. Absolutely captured our vision for color, size, and flowers used. Also, Lisa was able to accommodate our rosaries and a prayer lace in our bouquets which was so special to us. They also stayed at the venue and ensure placement and clean up.
