    Fairytale bridal

Karen and Suzanne were amazing to work with. They listened to the bride and helped alter a dress to include elements of other styles to give her the gown she wanted. They also took two family heirloom veils and combined them to provide a beautiful veil with a blusher to give her groom a traditional element he wanted.

I cannot get over how much of a great experience I had at this shop. My bridal party went with me on a Saturday to find bridesmaid dresses for all of them and Karen was so patient with me and helped me to work out all the details of my vision for the dresses even though I was slightly high maintenance (wanting different styles and colors for each bridesmaid.) They were actually very busy but she was so good about being attentive to all of her clients that I don't think anyone felt left out in the store. She's so good at what she does having worked for Miss USA for several years and she is very direct and professional which I think might come across as being "short" to some but I had a very pleasant experience and was so impressed with her service. I even found my wedding dress while I was there and couldn't be happier. The bridal suite was GORGEOUS and her selection of dresses are to die for. Seriously, go check her out!

my dress was gorgeous! I loved the small boutique feel of the shop. They allowed me to come in anytime to try the dress on. She made me a belt for my dress and gave me a great deal on the dress/veil/belt/alterations.

I bought all of my dresses at this location. The owner got me what I wanted all I had to do was say the word. They do all their alterations on site and the seamstress is a blessing from God. They also have shoes jewelry and other accessories. If she doesnt have what you are looking for on hand she jumps right on the job to get it ordered. My experience was pretty close to perfect

Karen at Petals and Lace has been fabulous so far! When other bridal salons told me that it was going to be "too difficult" to plan my wedding and find a dress in 4 months, Karen was nothing but sweet and told me that she's had far greater demands to meet! She helped me find the perfect dress and even had it in stock, in my size! It was such a relief knowing such a big thing could be crossed off my to-do list! I highly recommend this store, and have also purchased several bridesmaid dresses for other weddings from her as well as my girls' bridesmaid dresses! She is always willing to work with you and is flexible with payments so that even a bride on a budget can get what she has always dreamed of!

Petals and Lace has a fantastic variety of dresses. And they can order from just about any designer (at least the ones I looked at). The best 2 things about them are that their dresses are MUCH less expensive than through other bridal shops in the area, and that you never pay more than $100 for the alterations. So, I would definitely recommend!
Even their bridesmaids dresses are way less expensive than even David's Bridal, and much better quality!

I absolutely loved my dress. However there were a few rude comments made during my first fitting regarding trying the please me, the brideamaids and my mother. I feel when a bride is shopping for her dress she is the only person you should worry about pleasing. When I purchased the dress I was told all alterations were included however when something wasn't done the way I asked I had to bring it back a few weeks before the wedding and was charged an extra $75

I had an excellent purchase experience. Karen and her staff were very attentive, helpful, patient, and I even purchased a dress that Karen recommended for me. The shop is beautiful and she has an extensive amount of dresses and she very clearly has experience in the industry. However, after the purchase, the level of service went down hill from the staff. Karen was still responsive via email if I ever had a question, but the alteration experience was awful. My dress was taken in too tightly and even when I made the comment I couldn't breathe in it, it was fine. Additiinally, at two separate fitting appointments, no one assisted me in putting the dress on which had to be lifted over my head. Extremely upset, I ended up going somewhere else for alterations and paid several hundred more to have the dress fixed....and there were many, MANY, additional alterations needed. I emailed Karen, and my seamstress contacted her respectfully requesting a refund for rhe alterations but I have yet to hear back from her. In summary, purchase a dress there, but do NOT get alterations done there.

Great Options for Dress but Integrity is less than desirable

Let me begin by saying the ladies that my daughter and I dealt with were wonderful and super helpful. Karen was nice. My low rating is based on Karen's integrity, in my eyes. My daughter purchased a dress and decided the she didn't want the belt that came with the dress. But, once we went to the designer's website it clearly stated "Available in Three Lengths: 55″, 58″, 61″. Removable Beaded Satin Belt Included. Belt Also Sold Separately as Style 11247/11247W. Shown in Ivory/Light Gold." When we came in for the fitting and to accept the dress, Karen said that she would sell us the belt but my daughter didn't order the belt. BUT, the belt was in the bag with the dress. I called a few boutiques in Nashville and Arkansas and all said that the belt is included with this dress and they always give it to the bride whether they want it or not because it came with the dress. I reached out to the president of the company and received a call back from someone that wasn’t helpful and took the stance that there wasn’t much they could do if Petals & Lace wouldn’t honor what was written. We knew right then that we would not allow her to alter the dress and I started not to allow her to steam the dress. But, my daughter said that we paid for this service when we purchased the dress, which is was. So, we took the dress to get it alteredat Sewing by Day (https://www.facebook.com/sewingbyday/) and brought the dress back to get it steamed, which they did a great job doing. In hindsight, I would have had my daughter try on the dress at Petals & Lace and went to another boutique and purchased the dress. It’s unfortunate that Karen felt that the company charged her for the belt when it was clearly included in our bag and went on to say that she had to pay for the belt. Why would you purchase a belt if the bride didn’t want the belt, unless it came with the dress and you were going to resell the belt. Integrity ranks well above all the other things that are included in a business’s list of service.

Karen provided great service when I ordered dresses and when I picked up the dresses for the wedding day. All the service in between was lacking. Karen was sometimes short with me and did not remember some of the things we discussed regarding alterations. Her alterations staff had to fix my mother's dress 6 times before it was done correctly. this was a pain because it took 3 hours on a hot day with smelly staff working on this dress. Not sure if the original dress was ordered in the right size anyhow. The dresses were ordered in September of 2010 and did not arrive until sometime after the 2011 new year. So please order well in advance.

The dresses were absolutely beautiful but if you can stand the service not being so great at times you will be at least pleased with your dresses on the actual day.

Maybe prom season added to the stress at the shop I am not sure but would not go back during prom season.

This was the worst vendor I experienced during the entire wedding process. The owner is rude and crass and focused only on pageant clients. This was the first shop I went to and I did find a beautiful dress which I loved but I wish I had just shopped for the same dress somewhere else. I did not purchase my bridemaid's dress here for that very reason. When I first went there a really nice lady worked there that knew what she was doing but she quit (Fionia) before my wedding date.

Great start to a horrible ending

So Petals and Lace is where I bought my wedding dress. And things started out great. But my bad experience didn’t happen until the very end when I was about to get my dress. So we added a modesty panel in the back of my dress because it was very low cut. And I told her I needed buttons on the panel since the buttons continued all the way up the back of my dress right up to the start of the modesty panel. At first she acted like it was an issue saying we never discussed buttons. But she did add them. But they were not lined up with the other buttons on the dress! When my mom pointed that out she told my mom that she should cut them off and show her where she wanted them since “Both me and the seamstress think [the buttons] are straight” and claimed that since the modesty panel was a “floating panel” that the curve of my body made them misaligned. So whatever she took a few buttons off and “fixed” them. They still weren’t completely straight but they were better than before and she was still insisting that they were straight before. Then at the end of our time there. We were getting ready to leave, I asked if they had re-steamed my veil, since I had borrowed it for my hair trial. She then says there is “significant damage” to the veil. To our surprise there are three holes. One large one (about the size of three quarters!) and two smaller ones (maybe the size of a quarter). We were shocked. Not only because I had only had the bag in my car and at the salon. It was only taken out of the bag for two minutes and never touched the floor. But also because, for something that was “significantly damaged” she didn’t mention it when we first walked in. She waited until I asked about it. Almost as if she wasn’t planning on mentioning it to us. In any case. We paid an additional $30 to get the ripped part of the veil cut off and looking like it hadn’t been damaged. This is not to mention the way she treated any of my bridesmaids. Or how she bullied me and my mom into paying the “plus size surcharge” for one of my bridesmaids, despite the fact she forgot to collect that fee when the dress was picked up, never told me or the bridesmaid for sure what the fee was, and told her mom who picked up her dress that it was paid in full. So even though my experience was fine up until the end DO NOT go here. It is not worth the hassle. It seemed like since she had already been paid she was not happy to continue to fix my dress as she should have per our contract. She finished out transaction leaving a horrible taste in my mouth. And I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

    Disgusting Service

Petals and Lace in Nashville, TN. Owner is rude and a bully. There was a discrepancy over the price of a bridesmaid dress, even though It was paid in full and left with the dress. The owner calls the bride demanding $80 more for the dress. I sent her my receipt stating I had paid in full. After this she threatened to WITHHOLD the bride's dress until she paid the $80. Never once did she speak with me, the owner of said "unpaid" tab. Emotional bully and unlawful practice. I wouldn't do business with these people.
