We truly cannot recommend Rev Kevin Holland enough! From the very beginning, he was so thoughtful, kind, and helpful throughout the entire process, and we are so incredibly happy we chose to work with him for our wedding.
Our ceremony was so personal, unique, and meaningful to us as a couple, and that was entirely because of the care and attention he put into getting to know us and sharing our story so beautifully. The blessings, kind words, and delivery throughout the ceremony were absolutely perfect and made the moment feel so special and genuine.
We received countless compliments from our guests all night long (and even afterwards!) about how much they loved the ceremony and how heartfelt and authentic it felt. So many people told us it was one of the most personal and memorable ceremonies they had attended.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience working with Personal Ceremonies of North Carolina. Doug was responsive and professional from our first zoom call, and he genuinely wanted to understand our story so he could make the ceremony truly ours. He included our parents in meaningful ways by having them warm the rings and say a silent prayer, which added so much heart to the moment. Even though we only met over video, Doug made us feel like we were old friends, and you could tell he was truly happy for us. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how wonderful he was and how perfectly he captured what we wanted. We felt completely at ease on our wedding day knowing Doug had everything handled, and we'd recommend him in a heartbeat. -

We were in a bind (and getting close to the wedding date) when we discovered our original officiant was cancelling on us. I got Kevin's number from a friend who highly recommended their services. I reached out to Kevin and he was able to provide me with not one, but TWO officiants to choose from for our ceremony. We met with Rev. Becky Sansbury and knew she was the perfect officiant for our wedding. Both She and Kevin met with us or communicated with us on several occasions. Becky made sure to have enough zoom meetings to make sure our ceremony was exactly like we wanted it. I couldn't wait to hear her rendition of our love story and her words of wisdom to us as we move forward as a married couple.... When the day finally came, I couldn't have been more pleased. She captured our relationship perfectly and her words beautifully described each of us. I can't tell you enough just how thankful we are to Kevin & Becky for helping us when we were so worried our wedding would be ruined with no officiant for our ceremony. I recommend reaching out to Kevin and his team. They genuinely care, as was made obvious by our many in-depth conversations. Becky guided our entire ceremony and it went very smooth. It isn't always easy to find someone who is willing to perform a same sex wedding and the care and compassion they showed was above and beyond. LOVE YOU BECKY & KEVIN!!! -

Becky was the most amazing officiant! She was so thoughtful in everything she did and put together our love story is such a beautiful and fun way! Both her and Kevin were so great with communicating what they needed from us and what we should expect. It was such an absolute pleasure to have Kevin officiate our wedding this past May - I couldn’t recommend him enough! From the moment of our first meeting, Kevin showed nothing but kindness and grace through the whole process. He really took his time with us for everything we wanted for the ceremony - and he made sure to really take his time in crafting up and merging our two cultures into our ceremony.
He was so kind and flexible when we changed and moved around our rehearsal times, and then our ceremony was just perfect. He so artfully and gracefully surprised us with our first stories together and had the whole crowd weeping!

Heartfelt Ceremony
Kevin told our story beautifully. Everyone laughed, everyone cried, and everyone will remember how personal and sweet the ceremony was. We met with Kevin and knew he would be the perfect person to officiate our wedding. He guided us through the entire process of getting married, sent us several script options, and gave us advice we will hold close to our hearts forever. We had the honor and privilege of getting to know Steve and having him officiate our wedding. He was funny, kind, and considerate. We reached out to Personal Weddings NC based on other reviews and we are so glad that we did! Doug was our officiant but Kevin was there all along the way to ensure everything went smoothly. Both Doug and Kevin were timely in all responses and made us feel comfortable in planning our big day. I am not exaggerating when I say that the most compliments I have received about our wedding have been about Doug and the ceremony. People said it was one of the best they have ever been to and that is was personal and engaging. We loved being able to have input into the ceremony and the questionnaire we filled out ahead of time really allowed Doug to create a really special ceremony based on our responses. We incorporated some "audience participation" and Doug was 100% on board - it went amazingly on the day of! I am truly so so thankful that we chose Personal Weddings NC and would recommend them (and Doug specifically) without hesitation to anyone planning their wedding. -

I was granted a dream wish wedding from Wish Upon a Wedding and Michelle graciously donated her time and talents to officiate our special day. My husband and I renewed our vows for our 10 year anniversary. A few weeks before the event, Michelle , seperatly asked us a series of questions about ourselves and what we liked/loved about each other. On the day of the wedding, during the ceremony, she read a customized love story to us that she created from our answers. It was so thoughtful and creative. She even inserted a few inside jokes into our vows. She made my husband and I feel at ease during the ceremony. We had our kids stand with us, and Michelle even created a special part to incorporate them into the ceremony. I could go on and on about what a wonderful job she did, but it's best to find out for yourself! I highly recommend Michelle to be your wedding Officiant. And to Michelle, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you did to make my dreams come true! May God continue to bless you in all your future endeavors! -

From our first call with Kevin, we knew that he would be the best choice for us for our officiant. He was friendly, thorough, and was super helpful and quick to respond to us if we had any questions. A couple weeks before our wedding, Andrea was needed to step in to perform our ceremony. So many people came up to us afterwards and still, 3 weeks later, saying how much they loved the ceremony and how personal it was. We couldn't recommend Kevin at Personal Weddings NC enough. Kevin took care of me and my husband when we were in a bind 2 weeks before our wedding. After our first meeting, we knew we wanted him to marry us and he was even willing to send us questions and prompts before signing our contract (technical issues :P).
Throughout the process of learning about us, Kevin felt genuinely interested in our story and ceremony ideas. One of my favorite parts about this process was the examples of readings, blessings, and outlines that Kevin brought to the table. He helped me find segments of our ceremony that are so special to me now that I would not have considered otherwise.
On the actual wedding week, Kevin rehearsed with me and my husband early to accommodate a Friday wedding and coordinated with our wedding planner prior to our next rehearsal so no one missed a beat. On the day of, many guests said our ceremony was the best they had ever heard and they walked away learning so much about our love story because of the way it was presented. Thank you all! -

Kevin was the greatest officiant we could’ve asked for! His ceremony was so personal, we had several guests ask if he was our own pastor when we had never met him in person before that day. He met with us multiple times throughout the planning process and gave us detailed instructions for processes like obtaining our marriage license so we never felt lost or confused. He cared so deeply about getting to know us and building a ceremony with just enough humor, ritual/religion, and storytelling to make it feel like us. Kevin was phenomenal from the very beginning of our wedding process - easy to talk to and very understanding of our goals for the ceremony. Since we were having a multicultural ceremony, he was very thoughtful and polite about being one of two officiants and seamlessly blended our family's wants and desires into a beautiful ceremony script. He was also helpful in helping us figure out how to get our legal marriage license, etc especially since we were coming from out of state. He melded the Hindu and Catholic traditions into one and we really appreciated how kind and thoughtful he was throughout the process. Many of our guests told us afterwards it was one of the most beautiful ceremonies they've ever attended, which I have to agree! -

Kevin was our officiant at our wedding on September 2, 2023. He also officiated my sisters wedding in August 2021. He is very professional to work with and made time to meet with us multiple times before the wedding day to confirm how we envisioned our ceremony. He provided us with extensive options to customize and he went above and beyond with curating our ceremony to feel personal to us. Our ceremony is one of the most memorable aspects of our wedding day! One of our wedding guests even got his card/information at the reception so he could officiate their wedding in 2024. Kevin officiated for a friend's wedding and they couldn't say enough nice things about him. I reached out with very little notice, and Kevin responded immediately. At first, he thought he may be booked but he offered to assist with back up if that was the case. Thankfully, Kevin was able to perform our ceremony and it was such an easy, worry-free experience working with him. I loved how much we were able to accomplish virtually including the survey he had us take to learn more about us. Then we met by Zoom which was so convenient given how busy we are. It was a nice, quick meeting and he was very attentive to our needs and wants for the ceremony. He also gave us a lot to think about in regard to how traditional or progressive we wanted the ceremony providing ideas on how to accomplish one or both. He was easy to talk to, we enjoyed our conversation with him, and were excited for the big day. We wanted our ceremony to be short and sweet but still meaningful and personal to us as a couple and the journey we've been on to this point. He did a phenomenal job doing just that. He was able to weave in pieces of our story and how we met, and even made a point to include my step daughters in the ceremony. It was simple and beautiful at the same time, and I wouldn't have had it any other way. Kevin nailed it, and we are very grateful that he was able to join us for our special day. We would highly recommend Kevin. -

Kevin was recommended to us by our wedding planner and he hit it out of the park! He was very efficient, funny, warm and professional through the entire process. We got married out of town and didn't have a personal clergy accessible to perform our ceremony. I was nervous about having someone conduct our wedding that didn't know us. We met with Kevin and immediately felt comfortable with him and he put my mind at ease. After a few sessions and questionnaires for him to get to know us, he nailed our ceremony and was able to bring out our authentic selves in our ceremony. Kevin was an absolutely incredible officiant to work with and an overall amazing person! Even though we weren’t able to meet him in person until just a few days before our wedding because we are out of state, he made such an effort to get to know us to create a ceremony reflective of who we are. He had in depth questionnaires for us to answer and got to know us more through Zoom calls. He also has so much experience and made the whole process so easy for us. He had several resources he created himself for us to use and told us several times that he would handle all of the logistics and make things as straightforward as possible so we can focus on enjoying the day, which was so appreciated. Communication was frequent and easy and things ran so smoothly in large part thanks to Kevin! -

An officiant so great, he married us twice!
Kevin Holland was a fabulous officiant to work with for our summer 2020 wedding. He took the time to get to know us as a couple, heard our vision for the ceremony, and offered suggestions on how to accentuate the ceremony even further. He is comfortable working with religious texts/traditions as well as secular texts/traditions. Our summer 2020 wedding was considerably downsized due to Covid, and Kevin was willing to work with us again in summer 2021 for our large wedding celebration. He modified the script we used in 2020 to be more of a vow renewal celebration while maintaining the spirit of our original wedding ceremony. He is personable, funny, and professional. We highly recommend Kevin Holland for all your wedding needs. He was so great, he married us twice! -

Our wedding was in July 2022. My husband and I come from different religious backgrounds, and we knew it was going to be tricky to have a wedding ceremony that would be inclusive for both of our families. Our wedding planner recommended Kevin Holland, and he did a phenomenal job. He wrote a very beautiful ceremony that literally gave our wedding guests goosebumps. It was very personalized to our love story and our backgrounds. Wedding ceremonies typically follow the same patterns, which causes them to not be very memorable. Kevin Holland did such an amazing job, that the wedding ceremony was a lot of the guest’s favorite part of the entire wedding, because he set a really positive and uplifting tone that really underscored how special and momentous of an occasion it was for us and our families to come together as one. It made people feel that they were really witnessing something special and that they were getting to be included in our love story. What we also really appreciated was that Kevin was so on top of making sure every aspect of the ceremony occurred smoothly and seamlessly. He gave very subtle cues and gestures to people who had roles in the ceremony. For example, to indicate where someone should stand to do their reading or reminding my maid of honor to take my flowers, etc… It’s really easy for people to forget these things in the moment when all eyes are on them. He also knew to stand out of the frame for the kiss. I would recommend him 10 times over to anyone about to get married, especially if your wedding ceremony may be non traditional. He is very skilled and experienced in navigating situations where two people come from different religious backgrounds, and he can modify the ceremony to include as much or as little reference to religion as you want. We could not have asked for a better experience! -

Kevin was the best officiant we could have asked for!! We knew that we wanted an officiant who was well seasoned and reliable, would be willing to do a mainly non religious ceremony with a few spiritual elements thrown in, who was personable, could speak to our love, and be with us in one of the most sacred, important moments of our life! We looked into and spoke with other great officiants before meeting with Kevin, but when we met with Kevin it just clicked for us that he was the choice for us! He wrote a beautiful ceremony for us. We especially loved the questionnaires and meetings that allowed us to share with him all the details about our relationship and love for one another that he then incorporated into the ceremony. Hearing for the first time what my husband told him he loved about me was so amazing!
Overall highly communicative, very professional, flexible to whatever you envision your ceremony being, and unique to your love! -

Picking a wedding officiant is one of the most personal decisions in the planning process, as this person will be the one to marry you to your best friend. Kevin officiated our wedding in April 2022 and to say he did an awesome job would be an understatement. Kevin was wonderful throughout the entire lead up to the wedding. From truly building a relationship with us, to helping calm our nerves as the day got closer Kevin was incredible. My wife and I had a multicultural wedding with two ceremonies, one Christian and one Hindu. Kevin was able to tie the two together by making references to the Hindu ceremony at the beginning of our Christian ceremony and Kevin continually highlighted the unity of the day.
Kevin’s officiating was so incredible we have had multiple guests ask us who he is and say they want to use him when their children get married. You will not regret having Kevin share your wedding day with you! -

Kevin was the best wedding officiant we could have asked for for our wedding this past weekend. We truly felt like Kevin cared about our relationship, our wedding, and making our day as special as possible. He really took the time to get to know us and our relationship and really cared about how we wanted our big day to go. He assisted us in making our handfasting happen and was constantly in touch with our venue to make sure everything ran smoothly. I truly do not have enough amazing things to say for Kevin. WOWOW! I have so many things to say about Kevin, his professionalism, and attention to detail are top notch!
We were a covid wedding that was delayed for 2 years. Kevin never forgot about us and always reached back out to adjust things, catch up, and just say hello. His platform for communicating is super easy and has everything you need all in the same place.
His process for creating the ceremony speech was super personal and allowed us to have a say in what we want to do. We were given options on vows, formalness of the speech, and so much more. He also gave us tons of examples for ceremony's that I found incredibly helpful when it came to the flow of the ceremony and our own vows. He allowed me to take the reigns as much as I needed to and helped me tweak the processional many times to find a way that worked for us.
The best part! On the day of our wedding, Kevin was unfortunately delayed by circumstances out of his control. He immediately called the venue, dealt with his emergency, and still showed up to our venue with only a 30 min delayed. He continued to update the venue and when he arrived, he was composed, apologetic, but ready to marry us. We so appreciated his dedication to our day when he easily could have called out. His ceremony speech was so personal and so intentional. I had many guests compliment the ceremony as well as saying that it made them all "tear up". It was so special and made our guests feel the love that day. I am so thankful we hired Kevin and would recommend him to anyone. Thank you, thank you Kevin for all your hard work and dedication. I liked that other newlywed couples had said "Everyone thought Kevin had known us our whole life based on the ceremony." It's true, because he knows how to help you get what you want out of your wedding. Rev Holland's process is easy and gives you time to reflect on what you love most about who you're marrying. He makes space for you to feel, consider, and share what's in your heart, and wants above all for the ceremony to suit the individuals who are marrying each other. He's got good common sense too, and humor about what could go wrong (pausing for planes, telling guests not to cover their faces with their phones). One of our meetings he picked up that my fiancee hadn't relaxed from the workday - and no questions asked, Kevin said let's reschedule, I want to make sure you're in the best frame of mind for this because it's something to be enjoyed. Things like that show you when someone cares about more than getting the thing done - Rev Holland cares about the people he's helping and loves what he does. -

We had such a great experience working with Kevin. We first met him over a zoom call and immediately knew we wanted him as our officiant. We could tell that it was very important to Kevin to make our ceremony exactly how we wanted. When we were able to meet with Kevin in person he really took the time to get to know us. Fast forward to the rehearsal Kevin made us feel very comfortable and we knew exactly what to expect. On our wedding day our ceremony was beautiful, our friends and family told us how much they loved it, and we loved it too! Kevin was very organized and always requested info from us with plenty of notice and did not leave anything for the last minute. Kevin truly made our wedding day perfect. When we started planning our wedding in 2019, we knew that although we were excited for all aspects of our day, the ceremony meant the most to us: honoring the Divine and becoming a new version of ourselves in front of loved ones. We were hoping to connect with an officiant who would honor our desire for deep spirituality, meaning, and connection while respecting that we didn't want to include certain aspects (religious and otherwise) of a traditional ceremony; it was also critical to us to be married by someone who values all faiths, genders, and sexualities. As soon as we connected with Kevin, we knew that we had found the right fit. From the start, Kevin celebrated our story, our desires and dreams, and who we are; we consistently felt so uplifted and supported by him. The process of creating and personalizing every inch of our ceremony together with Kevin (the three of us around a Starbucks table!) was a joy. More than anyone, Kevin helped us articulate to ourselves and each other exactly why we were getting married via a wedding (rather than at the courthouse or via civil union), and I'm so grateful that he took us through that discernment process because it ended up being our guidepost when the world turned upside down in March 2020. As fun as we knew the reception would be, we postponed three times because of the ceremony and the sacredness of becoming united with our loved ones as witnesses, and Kevin's guidance was a huge part of why it was easy to keep making that choice. On our initial wedding date (04.25.2020), when we told Kevin our idea to use the date to honor the resilience of the people in our lives, Kevin jumped right in, crafting a small ceremony that we will forever treasure and meeting us in the park to celebrate the day even at a distance. Kevin has such a way with words, so much so that the unity ceremony text he wrote for us is in the entrance to our home. We are so grateful to Kevin for his guidance, his kindness, and his love, and we are grateful to call him a friend. ❤ -

Kevin was actually the officiant for my brothers wedding 2 years ago and we just knew that he was the right person to marry me and my now husband. Kevin drove from Raleigh to Leland, NC to marry us. He met with us via Zoom (thanks to Covid) and asked questions to get to know us better. He was very personable and took the funny & loving information from our questions/meetings and put it into the ceremony. He wants the ceremony to be how you imagine it and is very helpful when you have questions. We really enjoyed working with Kevin. Before making the decision to hire Kevin, we searched around at officiants online, like most everyone else does. While everyone we stumbled upon seemed nice, many of them seemed to be treating ceremonies as generic celebrations.
When we first reached out to Kevin, we were immediately impressed by his responsiveness, knowledge in the field and his professionalism. We learned so many things about marriage laws, officiating and even some of the best practices of putting together a personalized ceremony.
Kevin kept our minds at ease the entire time we worked together and was always there to answer any questions we had. He made us feel special and made our ceremony feel very personalized to us.

Kevin is amazing!!!! It was such a joy working with him and he made it so easy for us to build the perfect ceremony. He took the time to get to know us and create a ceremony that matched us so well. He even held a vow writing workshop which was extremely helpful since we decided to write our own and that was a big undertaking.
Although we got to see our whole ceremony (minus our love story) written out, it was absolutely incredible watching it come to life as Kevin delivered the most amazing ceremony. We had so many family and friends tell us how they felt the ceremony was so perfect for us. It was the perfect balance of religion, love and lightheartedness. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Kevin and he truly made our wedding day magical. I cannot thank him enough for everything! -
