Sandy is truly Incredible
We genuinely cannot recommend Sandy enough as a wedding photographer. Sandy was extremely helpful in the planning of the timeline and the wedding and this helped quell a lot of anxiety for my wife and I during the planning process. She is really a wedding and photography expert, who was easily the most valuable member of our vendor team in making our day go smoothly.
On top of just being lovely to work with, Sandy is an excellent photographer. Her ability to see creative shots and angles within a space blew me away each and every time. She would line up really cool silhouetted shots, pictures of our reflections in champagne glasses, shots down the center of a stairwell, and a truly beautiful shot of the sunset peaking through the tiniest window of tree leaves that she lined up between my wife and I. Not to mention, she comes up with so many of these additional shots in the moment, her vision of a space is really remarkable. It is incredible how she sees a space through such a creative lens, and will quite literally bend over backwards or get on the stone cold nighttime ground (she actually did this) in order to line up the perfect shot. I cannot sing enough praises of Sandy as both a photographer and a member of the vendor team, the wedding my wife and I had was really lovely, and I actually don't think it would have been half as nice without Sandy on our side. Sandy also brought an assistant, Tina, to help with the wedding shots. While we only met Tina for the day of the wedding, she was extremely helpful in working alongside Sandy, and the both of them went well above and beyond what could be expected of a photography team - you can tell that they really wanted our wedding to be a special day for the two of us, and would stop at nothing to make that happen.
Also, Sandy got us a preview of our photos just two days after the event and we have absolutely loved the photos. I am too excited to write this review so I don't have the full photo gallery quite yet, but I'm posting some of my favorites from the 75 photo preview album she sent us here.

Exceptional from start to finish
My partner and I don’t have many photos of ourselves, and we’ve never felt particularly natural in front of a camera. I honestly felt anxious about doing an engagement shoot, but we wanted to capture this moment in our lives. From start to finish, Sandy was absolutely incredible. She took the time to understand my hesitations, helped me feel at ease, and guided us through the process with so much care and artistry.
Her creative eye turned what could have been an uncomfortable experience into something that felt effortless and genuinely fun. She captured us exactly as we are — and somehow, even better. The photos surpassed anything I could have imagined; they’re not only some of the best pictures of us as a couple, but some of the most beautiful photos I’ve ever seen of my partner as an individual.
I went in just hoping for a few good shots and ended up with an entire gallery of images we absolutely love (we genuinely struggled to pick favorites!). Sandy is so much more than a photographer. She is a well of knowledge when it comes to weddings. My husband and I appreciated her guidance so much during our wedding planning and we never felt unsure or alone in the process. Sandy and Tina captured our love for each other and our loved ones. During the wedding planning process, Sandy encouraged us to find ways to add special moments into our wedding day. Due to my unexpected very long surgery recovery, our engagement session had to be during the winter. Sandy was ready for us with a huge smile, great conversation & hand warmers to put us at ease in front of the camera. Although freezing temperatures, we loved every minute of our engagement shoot.

Traditional Italian Wedding
Besides being professional and organized, Sandy truly understood our culture and how important it was to convey it through photography. Simply the best
Sandy and I go way back, at least 10 years. I grew up with Sandy photographing my high school journey through sports, band, senior pictures and graduation. When it came time to pick a wedding photographer who we picked wasn’t even a question, it HAD to be Sandy. The dedication that Sandy not only puts into her work but the time that she spends with her clients throughout the entire process is incredible, I know my day would not have ran so smoothly without her guidance and patience coordinating everyone for pictures. Anyone you ask will tell you Sandy is a top wedding vendor. Sandy was my sister’s wedding photographer a few years ago – she did such a great job it made the choice easy for us when it came time to pick our own wedding photographer. She has a great attitude and personality (which is key as you’re with your wedding photographer all day long)! She helped us get organized with her shot list form and provided helpful insights throughout the planning process. She captured every picture we wanted and more. Our wedding plans were impacted by COVID, so we had to postpone our reception. She was so accommodating and continued to ease our stress throughout the planning process and on the day of. Our engagement pictures came out great and she even designed and printed our save the dates. I have known Sandy for 20 years, as she was the photographer for my wedding. At first, we were interviewing other companies who were on the cheaper side and after not falling in love with any of them, gave Sandy a call. Sandy and her team are INCREDIBLE! They are detail-oriented, family based and really kept us on track throughout the whole day. She is not only thoughtful but she had the best suggestions for poses, scenery, and capturing the sunset and moonlight perfect. Not only was she a photographer that day but she even fixed one of my bridesmaids dresses! She was punctual, professional and I never had to worry about 1 thing on my wedding day. Felt like family!
We first met Sandy when she did the photography for our close friends wedding, and when we were planning our wedding knew that we wanted to work with her. She made us feel so comfortable while also giving great directions for posing that we very much needed. She went above and beyond to make sure she provided us the service we wanted, and day of felt like having another family member there. More than an Incredible Photographer
Sandy at Perceptions Photography is so much more than an incredible photographer. We hired Sandy for our May 2020 wedding. During the initial planning, Sandy acted as our wedding planner. With her vast experience in the field, she was beyond organized. I still tell my husband making Sandy our photographer was the best decision we made regarding our entire wedding. Upon the first meeting, she walked us through a full itinerary, planning for numerous events my husband and I would have never known to think through.
Covid hit, and we had to replan our wedding multiple times. Sandy was the first vendor we called, and she was so helpful walking us through what steps we should take. She even offered to call other vendors and our venue to help us through the tricky situation.
Finally, we set a final date to May 2021, and Sandy again helped us replan the entire wedding. She was the central point for all vendors to communicate through, and completely took that responsibility off our shoulders. I could write novels about how over and beyond Sandy was in the planning process!
Day of the wedding, Sandy was THE BEST person I could ever dream of! She arrived to the girls' getting ready location early, and had a full list of things I needed in advance so we could plan all of the shots. She was, yet again, so much more than a photographer. She completely coordinated the times of all my girls (10 girls in the bridal party) and got all of our suitcases/flowers/everything onto the party bus that drove us to the venue. She even had a crotchet hook to help my mom button up my dress at the last minute. She sent her second photographer to the guys' getting ready location, and had a full list of pictures to get to ensure every moment captured.
Sandy was by far the most incredible person at our wedding. She stayed and continued to coordinate each step of the way. After our wedding, she sent us more pictures than originally planned just days after our wedding, completely edited. They took our breath away. I am usually so unphotogenic, and Sandy being a woman just was so in-tune with the flattering angles I would want. She sent us our gorgeous/high end photo album in a beautiful black box with instructions for care, and again for Christmas sent us a canvas free of charge.
To summarize, Sandy is beyond organized, so giving, not afraid to jump in and coordinate vendors, bridal party, family, ANYONE. She really feels apart of of our family. I wouldn't put my trust in anyone else for any event. Sandy is more than a photographer. She's a wedding planner, wedding coordinator and highly-skilled photographer all rolled into one. We can never thank her enough. Thank you Sandy!

Treated like family!
Trusting that your photographer is there to capture all of the special moments so you can be present and live them, is the greatest relief - especially on your wedding day. Whether it's laying in the grass on her back to get the perfect shot or jumping up and down to make little kids smile, Sandy can and will do it all!

WOW! Takes unbelievable photos and captures the emotions/moments!
Where do I even begin to share how amazing Sandy at Perceptions Photography is?! Sandy is an incredible photographer. Sandy truly captures the moments to the point that when I look through my pictures, I feel like I am right in that exact moment again. I wanted a photographer that not only takes beautiful pictures, but captures the emotions and details. Sandy does just that! She is able to do this because combined with her obvious talent, she goes out of her way to build a genuine relationship from day one. Before the wedding, Sandy learned all 8 of my bridesmaids names AND the flower girl (which definitely won her over) and made everyone just feel special that day. Throughout the entire planning process (add an extra year with Covid) Sandy always checked in, not only about planning, but just about life in general. With the extra year and having 2 year old engagement photos, she even asked if I wanted to redo any for my new save the dates! I didn’t need to take her up on that opportunity because we loved how our first ones came out. The point is that during the most busy wedding season yet, she thought to do something extra. Building that relationship is what allowed me to be so comfortable when it came to taking pictures. She listened to exactly what we wanted and executed the timeline perfectly. What bride gets to actually sit back and enjoy champagne the day of? I DID! I was able to soak many moments in because of her organization. Sandy was the first vendor I booked and referred me to what ended up being the best team I could ever ask for. If you want to look through your pictures and relive the moments, hire Sandy!!!

Sandy did an amazing job as our wedding photographer and engagement shoot photographer. She has decades of experience and helps guide the couple through the process—it’s almost like hiring a day-of-wedding coordinator along with a photographer. She is efficient, organized, and was great with directing our friends and family in a kind and thoughtful way. She was a big part of our wedding day, and it was a pleasure to have her there. The photos all came out great, and we wouldn’t have had it any other way. We would of course recommend Sandy to anyone looking for a seasoned professional event photographer.

Sandy played a huge role in our experience on our wedding day. Not only did she and her partner provide us with precious and timeless photos that we'll cherish for the rest of our lives, but she helped to ensure we kept on schedule, got on the photos we wanted, and effectively walked us through building a 'day-of' wedding schedule. In addition, she was incredibly flexible in helping us by photographing our ceremony in 2020, and then our reception in 2021 (due to COVID-19).

The Best Choice We Made (Other Than Getting Married!)
Without question, working with Sandy and Perceptions Photography was the best decision we have made while planning our wedding. From our first meeting, to our engagement shoot, and especially now during these unpredictable times, there has been no better feeling than knowing that Sandy is in our corner as a positive, comforting presence throughout every aspect of our wedding experience.
As a photographer, Sandy is so natural and easygoing that it comes as no surprise she produces exceptional work for weddings of every style. We are not a couple who often poses for pictures, but within moments Sandy had us laughing and enjoying our shoot as though we'd done it hundreds of times. Sandy's vibrant personality is apparent with how natural and comfortable all of her subjects appear in their photos, and ours were no exception. While her work speaks for itself, Sandy is so much more than just an expert photographer. An invaluable addition to our wedding planning team, Sandy has always been there to encourage and guide us at every step. She keeps her couples grounded and present in the moment - eliminating much of the stress of wedding planning and instead placing all of her energy into capturing and recognizing how special and wonderful the process should be. She is 100% dedicated to bringing her couples' vision to life, and is not going to coerce you towards working around her schedule or her preferred style. In fact, it often feels like we are Sandy's only client given her level of attentiveness and care at every turn.
One of our favorite parts about working with Sandy is that she puts people first, and business second. Sandy checks in with us at least once a month just to see how we are doing. Even as her business likely took a hit during the pandemic, she happily restructured our entire contract for a new date, delayed payments by over a year, and even sent us a custom made engagement album free of charge to make us smile during a less than ideal time.
All things considered - without Sandy, our wedding experience would be nowhere near as enjoyable and memorable as it is today. Her selflessness and devotion to clients is second to none, and she's someone we recommend wholeheartedly to friends, families, and couples within the area. Working with Sandy has been a pleasure, and we are happy to speak personally to any couples considering making this excellent decision!

Your Wedding Day = A Breeze With Sandy!
Sandy had taken my senior portraits in High School, so I knew for my wedding I had to have her again! What a difficult year to run business as usual with the COVID-19 outbreak but Sandy does so in the most professional way! Masks on, keeping socially distanced, updates through Zoom and FaceTime, our time with Sandy was always done in the safest way! Our wedding date was 10/24/20 at my parents backyard and we fortunately had Sandy all day long! No brainer
I’ve known Sandy since I was in high school and she did my senior portraits, so having her as my wedding photographer was basically a no brainer. Having the Type A personality that I do, I still wanted to do research on other local photographers and even a close friend, but they didn’t compare to Sandy. She cares and treats you like one of her own. She is extremely welcoming, organized and transparent. Sandy ensures you know exactly every step of the process, while being patient with you and the decisions you have to make throughout your wedding journey. For example, you will sit and have an intimate conversation about the important photos you wish to have, or if there are any concerns you have such as with family discrepancies. She pays close attention to every detail you are looking for, and then some. For example, I had hidden symbols throughout my bouquet and she found them when taking detail shots without me telling her. Throughout the wedding itself, Sandy watched the timing and continued to stay diligent to the schedule we created. Sandy was also extremely flexible when I asked for more photography time. It’s also important to mentioned this was a COVID wedding. Sandy was professional the entire time, in 90 degree heat with her mask on. Also being a COVID backyard wedding, she was considerate of the space and all 24 guests to ensure their safety and comfortability. I could not recommend or say enough about Sandy, if you want to ensure at least one piece of your wedding day goes smoothly, choose her!

Sandy Aldieri and Mark Brendel at Perceptions Photography are the wedding photographers who we had dreamed of having for our wedding day. Searching for a wedding photographer can be very overwhelming and time consuming, but once we came across Perceptions Photography on wedding wire and began reading the reviews and looking at the work that Sandy had done for couples we immediately reached out. From the start of first reaching out and her wanting to setup a phone conference, I knew that she was someone who is passionate about her work and takes her business seriously. Sandy is down to earth and really takes the time to get to know you before discussing the business aspect of hiring a photographer.
Compared to other photographers we had met with, Sandy immediately came across as a kind, understanding and down to earth person. Her attitude and hard work ethic was exactly what we were looking for. Talking with other photographers was very business like and they lacked the personable demeanor that we encountered immediately with Sandy. She made us feel comfortable, stress free and most importantly, happy! After meeting with her in person and talking many times on the phone, we had finally found the right person and we were beyond grateful for having her be a part of our day!
We met with Sandy months in advance and her detailed timeline template and questionnaire made it so easy for us to plan our big day from start to finish. We ended up using her timeline as the structure for our whole day from the “getting ready” to the reception and everything in between. This helped us be on time throughout the whole day, which is unheard of! Sandy and Mark were so organized and paid attention to every detail and made sure to capture them on camera.
The professionalism and experience they showed is seen throughout every photo we have received. The formal photos and candid shots at St. Rocco’s Church and at the Rhode Island State House are absolutely stunning, it is truly surreal. As a couple who does not like photos or attention on us, Sandy made the process stress free and we were able to just be us. She took the lead on having us pose in certain positions that ended up being some of our favorite photos. It’s amazing to look at your wedding photos and say wow, is that really me?
Sandy and Mark did a phenomenal job of capturing every special moment that day. Their experience and professionalism throughout the day was helpful to not only us, but also for our family members, bridal party and other vendors they worked with. They were on time and easy to rely on for every place we needed them to be. Sandy and Mark were very flexible in being at certain locations. They were able to capture both the girls and guys getting ready at the Providence Marriott Downtown and were willing to get pictures on the trolly before heading to the church. Sandy caters to her customers needs and was able to follow us to multiple locations; the church for the ceremony, the Rhode Island State House for pictures outside, and then back to the reception at the Marriott. They found the perfect locations on the State House grounds to snap photos and we just followed their lead! The lighting and cameras they used took the best photos that we could have asked for and are beyond grateful for every photo coming out perfect. They took their time and did retakes if it was needed so that they could get the perfect shot. They took charge of telling family and friends what to do, where to look and even to get out of the way when needed. This took off so much pressure and stress from us! Sandy was so great with the kids in the bridal party with getting them to smile and laugh when they weren’t really feeling like taking any photos. We are so grateful for her patience and ability to do that!
Sandy and Mark were such an important part of our wedding day and we will cherish the work that they have done forever. Viewing the sneak peek photos the day after the wedding was so amazing, we greatly appreciated seeing them that soon. We even got to view all of our photos only a few weeks after our wedding and select the photos for our album. Sandy has reached out multiple times to us just to say hi and meet up and we have truly made a friend. Her compassion and dedication towards her work is not something you see very often. We are so grateful for hiring her and you’d be making a mistake in not doing so. We have received compliments from family and friends at how amazing our photographers were that day and how awesome our photos are. Our videographer and the staff at the Marriott stated what a pleasure it was to work with them and how easy they were to work with.
In the days and weeks that follow your wedding day, you can end up feeling sad that all that fun and excitement from the day is over. However, looking back at the photos that Sandy and Mark took, we immediately feel all the fun and happiness of that day every time we look at them. We are able to cherish all the memories of our wedding day from our photos by Perceptions Photography.

Sandy from Perceptions Photography was the photographer for our wedding in January. We had an amazing experience with her from the moment that we first met with her. She's a personable professional who cares about her clients - and she really tries to form a connection with you and understand your desires. The photos from both our engagement session & the wedding itself came out absolutely beautifully!! She has a wonderful selection on her webpage & social media but our photos came out even more incredibly than I expected.
She made the photography aspect of our wedding so smooth and worked to make sure everything flowed and we got all the photos we wanted. She kept track of all the details and was a perfect photographer - there directing when need be, and capturing the candid moments as well.

Sandy is someone who helped us relax at times that may have been the most stressful. When picking a photographer you need someone who is thoughtful, creative, energetic, and kind (at least in my opinion). She checked every box - and MORE. She helped us remember that at the end of the day it's about us. And the little things don't really matter. She is someone who went above and beyond..and still to this day checks up on us. She is not only an amazing photographer but an amazing person as well. I cannot say enough good things about her and her photography skills are AMAZING! Sandy first photographed our engagement in Block Island. Secretly hiding beyond the dunes, she was able to document that special moment in our lives. The memories that she was able to capture are not only breathtaking, but ones we will cherish forever. We are thankful for her flexibility and willingness to travel to Block Island and Newport for us. Work with Sandy throughout the wedding planning process was easy. After showing us several examples, she helped us to create our Save the Dates. We cannot say enough positive things about the exceptional and talented Perceptions Photography. Sandy made sure that all of the love, joy, fun, and all of my awkward dance moves will live forever through the memories she captured. Sandy was so thorough and easy to work with during the entire wedding process. We met with her in her office where she has beautiful examples of her previous work and found the perfect package for us. Our package included an engagement shoot and Sandy was very accommodating to make that shoot memorable and special in one of our favorite places. The engagement photos came out great and we were able to work with Perceptions to seamlessly utilize them for other parts of the wedding process (i.e ordered prints, Save the Dates). Sandy was also very good about checking in with us and making sure everything was going well.
Leading up to, and on our special day Sandy and Lucy were consummate professionals. They were excellent for working with our other vendors and simply ensuring that all of the details were under control, and that we were getting everything we wanted for our day. Sandy worked hard to keep us on track so we could enjoy as much of the wedding as possible while ensuring we got all the photos we had asked for. We have probably looked through our photos 50 times and they are stunning. We had a perfect day and it was all captured perfectly thanks to Perceptions Photography.

Perceptions Photography provided the utmost quality of service and were so pleasant to have around on our big day. There are a lot of moving parts and they really captured all of the big (and little) moments that we are so excited to have forever! On top of it, the photographers were professional, thorough, patient, and adapted well to changes throughout our day, always making us feel comfortable and taken care of. The finished products are amazing, and we chose a package that comes with an album that was more gorgeous than I could have imagined. Overall, we are beyond happy that we chose Perceptions Photography to photograph our special day. Thank you!!

Perceptions photography was the best choice we could have made. We have been customers of Sandy and her team for years now, and we always saw such beautiful work done on other people's weddings, there was no other option in our eyes! They are truly amazing at what they do. They caught every special moment of the best day of our lives, and it couldn't be more appreciated! You won't go wrong with perceptions, that's for sure!

We have always been so pleased with Sandy's work - she is such a joy to work with. She's thoughtful, creative and easy to work with. She has done family photos for us as well - when it was time for our wedding, there wasn't even a second thought of who to contact. Our wedding photos are phenomenal - I have one on my desk at work and am constantly being complimented how beautiful it is. Sandy is the best!

Sandy is by far the BEST photographer anyone can ask for! She was professional, courteous, and responded promptly to any questions or concerns. Her work is absolutely beautiful and we were honored to have her as the photographer for our wedding. We can't be happier with our photos and albums. She even was able to make us gorgeous canvases we have hanging in our living room and bedroom. The thank you cards were also a huge hit with our family and friends. Sandy is an all-around lovely person, look no further for an excellent photographer, Sandy is it!!!!!!!

Sandy was incredible to work with! She struck a great balance between getting all of the photos we wanted and not being incredibly demanding like some other photographers can be. She also did a phenomenal job with the wedding album!

We couldn't have asked for a better photographer for our wedding day. Sandy is budget-friendly, takes time to understand her couples and shoots fabulous photos! From consult to engagement photos to our wedding day, Sandy "got" us. We were so comfortable with her and she is very prompt with returning photos and emails. Our second photographer was Lucy who was also amazing. I would use Sandy again in a heartbeat.
