In 2024, on a trip to England and Scotland which included a seven-day Outlander tour, there was a surprise proposal on the steps of Midhope Castle, known by Outlander fans as "Lallybroch". We also had a planned special Celtic Handfasting Commitment Ceremony in the Highlands. We then began thinking about a uniquely us wedding which would be just as magical. Last year, we booked bucket list trip #2, a 2026 cruise of the Hawaiian Islands with our best friends. We did some searching to see if a Maui wedding would be possible while in port there. We found Aloha Maui Dream Weddings, and our dream wedding came to be. Darci was amazing. She handled everything and all we had to do was show up. First step for us was to fill out a detailed questionnaire so she got to know who we were, and it was truly planned just for us. She handled all the details, quickly answered any questions we had through email or text, reassured us all would be fine when threats of storms were in the news. She found the perfect location at Makena Cove Beach for our ceremony and was there with us on our special day. Reverend Kuya performed our beautiful ceremony. It truly felt like he knew us. We also did a memorial lei toss in memory of my parents and all our grandparents which meant so much to us. Penny (Penny Palmer Photography) captured the beauty of the beach, our emotions of excitement, love, happy tears and even a few laughs during the ceremony and our first pictures as Newlyweds on beautiful Makena Cove Beach. So hard to choose our favorite photos, we purchased the whole gallery. It was truly a magical wedding which we will never forget. Mahola to Darci, Penny and Reverend Kuya for our most magical wedding! As one who likes to plan everything out, it was a leap of faith to just let someone else take care of everything and just show up; however, Darci had it planned perfectly leaving it stress free for us. We may just be back in touch in years to come to have a vow renewal ceremony done by our Aloha Maui Dream Weddings ohana! -

10/10 would recommend to anyone to elope in Maui! Throughout our engagement, we really were not looking forward to planning the big "traditional" American wedding that was going to cost us well over $30k! Darci took what we wanted as a couple & made it come to life. The whole process was easy...we booked a trip to Maui & Darci took care of the rest. Marriage license - done; photographer - amazing, officiant - felt like family! It was perfect & exactly what we WANTED! No pressure from family, no timeline -- just us on a "secret" beach in Maui! It was absolutely magical! Thank you Darci, Penny & Robert ... the A+ team! -

We used Penny Palmer and Darci for our 40th anniversary vow renewal ceremony and family photographs. They took care of all of the details for the ceremony. The event and creative photography were perfect.
We used Penny and Darci for our 30th anniversary and loved our pictures so much that we came back for more!!! They pictures are hanging in our house so we can cherish the memories of that day. my screensaver on my computer is our family picture.
We did the ceremony and photo session at Napili Bay Beach, with the sunset in the background. The sunset was spectacular and stunning.
I highly recommend using Darci and Penny for any anniversary or special event. They make every picture special.

Exceptional
We booked penny Palmer photography as part of a package with aloha Maui dream weddings. The photographer was exceptional! She managed to capture the most amazing photos.. and we didn’t feel as if we were part of a photo shoot! It was natural and easy! She captured us as ourselves and in real moments we shared. She captured the most beautiful parts of the ceremony that were more beautiful in print than we had in our memory of that day! We couldn’t have been more pleased with our photos or the responsiveness of receiving them. If your reading this review. And want your day to be fun. Lighthearted and as easy as you can imagine!! Ian, our photographer was absolutely incredible! Not only did he take his time with the precision of his photos, but he also educated us on a lot of things we would have never known about Hawaii! He took us out on the lava rocks, entertained my daughters so they could smile on their photos, and waited many many times for the tide to be on our side for the perfect photo! If you are planning on going on Maui to renew vows or get married, this team of amazing people will take care of you! With Darci as my wedding planner and Nicole as my photographer, I could not have asked for a better duo! Darci made the months, weeks, days, and even hours before my wedding stress-free and magical. Being a gal who is rarely a fan of being in front of the camera, I was surprised at how well Nicole was able to capture real personality and smiles. I just went through my entire gallery with my husband, and we were smiling from ear to ear reliving the moment. The pictures look like something from a fairytale: beautiful colors, amazing lighting, and genuine love. I could not be happier! -

Penny is a one-of-a-kind photographer! She allowed us to have fun and feel so relaxed throughout our whole wedding, not to mention the gold class photos the she managed to produce for us. She went above and beyond to ensure we felt at ease whilst always maintaining her professional approach. We did not give specific instruction to Penny, we allowed her to be creative and explore the kind of photographs she wanted to take, this was the best decision we could have ever made! Our photos did not look like your ‘typical’ staged and posed wedding photos, they are expressive, fun and romantic with the beautiful scenery and views captured exactly as we saw them (if not even better!). Thank you so much Penny, we are so privileged to say not only did we have the most incredible wedding photographer but we have also found a true friend in you! -

We we fortunate enough to hire Penny, along with Aloha Maui Dream Weddings, for our recent wedding in Maui, and it was the best choice we could have made. Two of the most important qualities for a wedding photographer, in my opinion, are 1) creating gorgeous photographs that truly capture the heart and spirit of the event, and 2) being unobtrusive in the process of creating those photos. And Penny excelled at both of these things. When we saw our photo album from her, we were blown away by the beauty of the pictures, the perfect exposures, backgrounds, and lighting....but most of all, the way she absolutely captured the magic of the day and the joy that we were feeling in those moments. Her photos were fluid, emotional, composed perfectly to capture the feeling of the shot....there were no stiff, formal (boring), lifeless photos. They were vibrant and alive and we can now relive the joy of our wedding day just by viewing our photos. Mahalo Penny! You were relaxed, fun, and truly so unobtrusive that we even forgot we were being photographed (the ultimate compliment to a wedding photographer!). Hire Penny...you won't be sorry and you won't need to worry about whether or not your pictures will be great! And, as an added bonus, her prices are phenomenal! -

Penny perfectly captured our intimate wedding ceremony at Makena Cove, Maui. Everything during the ceremony seemed natural - it didn’t seem like Penny was even there but when we got the photos she every moment of the ceremony was there! After the official parted the ceremony was over, she guided us to take some really amazing shots at the beach where the ceremony took place. She was definitely very experienced and knew the right angles but at the same time she made it fun, and it shows on the photos.
Penny Palmer Photography was included in our Aloha Maui Dream Weddings package but originally we only selected an option with viewing the full wedding gallery for 14 days and then picking the best 3 photos. We loved Penny’s photos so much that we decided to buy the whole gallery! The price was very reasonable for the the amazing high quality photos that we got. We already shared the photos with our family and friends and everyone loves them! Mahalo for your amazing work! -

Penny was an absolute joy to work with. Our photos are stunning. She knew just how to make the lighting work with the sunset. I wasn't sure what to expect from photos on the beach but she blew away any preconceived notions of "elopement beach photos." My husband and I couldn't just pick a limited amount of them for our package we selected... we ended up buying them all. They were all just so good! -

I'm not going to lie, I really don't like my picture being taken and I get pretty awkward in front of the camera. Let alone the fact that I was already pretty anxious about what that day had in store. But, thanks to Penny Palmer Photography and Aloha Maui Dream Weddings, my mind was quickly put to ease. I was in tears when I saw the photos and still get choked up when I look at them. The prices are amazing and she couldn't be easier to work with. She made us and our wedding party/guests feel so comfortable in front of the camera and the prices are amazing! I wanted to keep all 300 photos! And guess what?! You totally can purchase every single shot taken for a great price! Thanks to Penny and Darci with AMDW, we will forever be able to cherish our special day. Penny has a way of capturing the sweetest moments and a true talent for creativity in photography. I would 100% do it again.
