We made a great decision to go with Paul Michaels Events for our wedding! Paul was involved every step up the way up to the wedding. Their portal made setting up our timeline super easy as well as making sure all our songs we wanted to hear were on our list. We even had several meetings to go over everything and were able to get answers to any of our questions. The day of the wedding, Paul made sure everything lined up with our timeline and even helped make a few last minute changes. I'd highly recommend Paul Michaels Events for your wedding or really any event that may require a DJ.

Couldn't have asked for a better experience

Can't say enough great things about Paul! From start to finish, Paul put me and my fiance at ease with his expertise and advice. In our first call, he took time to ask us about our vision and used that to tailor his recommendations.

After booking with Paul, he provides you with access to a portal that lets you easily organize all the planned music as well as give him guidance for must plays, like to hear, do not play, etc. It also has a section where you can see popular songs for various parts of the wedding and/or for different genres, which we really needed and appreciated. After that, you meet with Paul to cover your selections and nail down more of the timeline for the day itself. Organized to a T.

Most importantly, Paul read the dance floor perfectly, responding and adapting to the vibe as the night went on. He was the perfect blend of energetic but not at all obnoxious (have definitely seen corny DJs at other weddings - this is NOT Paul), his assistant was great, and he worked side by side not only with us but also our other vendors and coordinators.

Not exaggerating that close to a dozen guests raved about Paul specifically. Direct quote the next morning from a guest from New Jersey for our Chicago wedding: "He was FANTASTIC, I'm gonna fly him out for our anniversary party!" While I'm not sure if Paul's radius extends that far, I am sure it would be the East Coast's loss. You can't go wrong.

Best DJ ever

We have been to many a wedding and danced to many a DJ but this was by far the best. Working with Kate was amazing, we had one maybe two short meetings where she asked some great questions about our taste and helped us talk through what we did and did not want and what we needed to let them know when. Super straight forward and helpful.

Wish I could relive it!!!!!!

I had the pleasure of having Paul Michaels DJ my wedding. They were dependable, professional, and created the most fun party of my life. The music and lights they provided were dazzling. Professional and Organized

I couldn’t possibly say enough nice things about Paul Michaels Events. They were so professional, transparent, and organized. Paul made the planning process stress free and they worked extremely well with our other vendors. Our photographer and venue both were impressed with their organization and professionalism. The online planning portal was easy to use and helped us put together our timeline. They did a great job reading the room and kept everyone dancing all night! Many of our guests went out of their way to tell us how much they loved the DJ. I will be forever grateful to Paul for making our wedding so special. Highest recommendation!

Game Changing Experience!

Paul Michaels Events DJ Company was absolutely fantastic from beginning to end. The preparation meetings were professional and detailed. The platform they use is user friendly.

The music being played kept the dance floor buzzing all night long. They were also the MC for our wedding. They gave us clear cut directions regarding every part of the day. Communication was great. I cant say enough about the performance of this company.

We barely left the dance floor!

Booking Paul Michaels Events was one of the best choices we made during our wedding planning process! Paul is so organized, helpful, and knowledgeable about how to make your event perfect! Our venue has a unique layout and Paul made sure to document and plan through everything we would need for an amazing ceremony and reception during our venue walk-through. Hearing his plan made me so glad we booked him for our big day! It was also great to work with Paul in our planning meetings and he helped us think through timelines and music requests. On the day of, DJ Brian and his assistant were wonderful to work with and kept the dance party going! Our friends and family raved that our wedding was one of the most fun they've been to. Perfection

Thank you so much to Paul Michaels Events for helping to make our wedding so special! We had such a blast dancing and singing all night! It was exactly what we asked for and then some. Great Experience from Beginning to End!!

The best DJ company

Best DJ in the Business

Paul is the best DJ in the business! We hired Paul after attending a friend's wedding he was at. He keeps the dance floor full all night long because he goes above and beyond in the planning of your wedding before the day of. We were so impressed by his attention to detail - he knew our wedding day inside and out and pulled off a seamless party. We had to move our wedding out of state last minute due to COVID and Paul didn't bat an eye and traveled to Texas for us and organized all the equipment rentals he would need. He's way more than an DJ and we couldn't recommend him more!

More Than a DJ

We initially had our wedding planned for April 2020, but had to reschedule to October 2020, and then reschedule again to April 2021--damn you, COVID. Paul was more than flexible throughout the entire process and was more than just a DJ. He has so much great insight on all aspects of the wedding planning process. He keeps all of the other vendors organized and on the same page to ensure that our special day was pure magic. He is not one of those cookie cutter DJs from your cousin's wedding--he makes it all about you and takes the utmost care in delivering a truly amazing experience! The Paul Michaels Team (on our day included DJ Shannon) also goes above and beyond to make sure that the bride and groom, as well as the entire wedding party feels supported and that every guest has a great time!

Best decision ever!

Paul was the best decision we made for our wedding. He was extremely detailed in every area. From music choices, Paul's website, organization/timeline, sound/light quality at our venue, to even reaching out to the staff multiple times to make sure everything was perfect. Paul traveled across the country for our event and we couldn't be more grateful. We have had several friends reach out to use to have Paul as their DJ. Cannot recommend enough!!!!!!

I can't recommend Paul enough. He removed SO much stress from our wedding day. He not only made sure our wedding day was absolutely perfect & SO much fun, but he also made sure to connect with our other vendors, & create a timeline. He was not only our DJ but also our wedding planner (a true two-for-one). Throughout the whole wedding process, he would plan & schedule meeting check-points, to make sure we were all on the same page. It was so nice to know that we could really trust him as a vendor to go above and beyond. He made every single step in the wedding process feel extremely personalized and I am so grateful for him. He also took photos throughout the night, so to our surprise, he sent us a link with a bunch of pictures!!! Thank you!

The Best DJs in Chicago!!!

We are SO GLAD we chose Paul Michaels Events to DJ our wedding this past Saturday! We had Ian as our DJ and Brian as our Assistant. They were both AMAZING and helped make our event unforgettable. We knew we were in good hands with Paul Michaels as after we met with him once, we cancelled all our other prospective DJ meetings and booked with him! DJs Ian and Brian had our dance floor packed all night, did all the uplighting for our venue, did an awesome job with the Dancing On The Clouds that we added for our first dance (so special) and making sure all the speeches went off without a hitch. They even got to know our personalities and called my 'husband' up for a photo opp. in the DJ booth with his groomsmen, which made for an awesome memory. I would give them the highest recommendation to anyone I know looking for any kind of DJ services!

Professional and high quality equipment

The Special Events DJz team helped bring my wedding together. They were on time. Very professional and the owner, Mike, was super friendly, outgoing, and ALWAYS available over the phone. We had cake mapping done on our Disney themed cake. The cake artist did an AMAZING job and it turned out exactly as we envisioned it. They also provided a beautiful monogram with our names and the Disney castle which fit our Disney theme perfectly. Now, as far as their bilingual DJ/MC....I would NOT go with DJ Noel. I hate leaving a negative review BUT we felt he was inexperienced and had we known he would have made so many errors, we would have opted for another more experienced DJ/MC even if he was not bilingual. Would we hire Special Events Djz again? Most likely yes! Would we want Noel as our DJ/MC........sorry HARD pass. He needs way more training on his MC skills, spanish translation, and overall staying organized and sticking to the couples requests. Either way, thank you Special Events DJZ for making our room look like a Disney fairytale wedding!!

Simply amazing!

We used Paul as the DJ for our wedding on 9/8/18 and he was amazing! We got several compliments from our wedding guests about how much they enjoyed the music (and one even said it was the best music they'd ever heard at a wedding). The dance floor was full all night long! He made the planning process very easy, and he was one of our most organized vendors. I highly recommend Paul for any event!

We had Paul for our wedding on 6/30/18. Leading up to the wedding he was organized, helpful, and pretty much willing to do everything to make sure our reception went perfectly. He worked as a day of coordinator - working with all of the other vendors to ensure everyone was on the same page - we were SO thankful for this part of his service - and it helped put us at ease. Paul and his assistant were so professional and helpful at the reception, making sure everyone was in place and ready before we were announced. Throughout dinner he went to every table asking for requests - something we'd never seen done before. Guests even said that he was super friendly! Every guest I've talked to since the wedding has commented on how good the music selection was. Each song flowed right into the next one and there was never any stoppage of music. We spent all night on the dance floor and loved every second of it! We definitely recommend DJ Paul Michaels Events to anyone that needs a DJ for any reason!

Paul Michaels events was AMAZING! He was so detail oriented and on top of his game. Our wedding went flawlessly and was so much fun because of his music! I cannot say enough about how wonderful it was to work with Paul Michaels Events as my wedding DJ and photo booth. From the start Paul provided excellent and attentive service. He is extremely knowledgeable about the wedding world and has tremendously helpful insight. He was able to answer any an all questions we had without any hesitations. The online tools provided are wonderful to help nail down the details and made the planning process painless. Additionally, he was very reassuring through out the entire process and ultimately provided an excellent wedding day experience. He and his assistant were timely, kept us on track, played all of our requested songs and kept the party moving. Paul Michael Events was a clear and easy choice for us when it came to picking our DJ. The first time we met with Paul Michael, he really listened and understood what our vision was for the night of our wedding reception. He was well organized, proactive, personable, and not pushy. He had a lot of experience and helped us with some of the details we had not thought about. We did not have a wedding coordinator and ultimately decided to go with Paul Michael Events as they acted as both a coordinator and a DJ.

From day one Paul was supportive throughout the process. He did multiple check ins around your schedule and helped the ease the stress in any way he could. He has resources available if you need them, such as a place to rent a dance floor from, or possible photographers you can hire. Come the day of the wedding he did not disappoint. Weeks later, our families are still talking about the music from the reception and how much fun they had dancing. From the time the dancing started until the end of the night our dance floor was booming the whole time.

Here are 5 reasons why we loved working with Paul, and why you should hire him for your wedding or event!

1. From the moment we first spoke, Paul was professional, organized and communicated with us throughout our engagement. We always felt like we were an important client and that he understood what kind of music and vibe we wanted at our wedding.
2. He kept our dance floor packed! We had access to our playlist (Must Play, Maybe Play and Do Not Play), which was helpful as we planned our event. He made suggestions, and the result was the best dance party we could have hoped for!
3. As someone who has planned several events, I felt confident in my ability to keep everything organized and managed, but I couldn’t have done it that day without Paul. He went above and beyond to communicate with my other vendors in advance, managed the evening’s timeline, and kept in close communication with my groom and I throughout the night.
4. He took photos of us on the dance floor! In addition to all the wonderful photos and video I have from my other professional vendors, Paul snapped several shots of the dance floor and the very end of the night. We otherwise wouldn’t have had these memories, so this was a wonderful surprise!
5. He has a wide offering of services. We only used him for DJ services, but you can book Paul and his team for up-lighting, fog effects, photo booths and more. He has a ton of experience as well as connections in the industry (thanks for the last-minute transportation reco!).

If I could give more stars I would! I attended a wedding where Paul was the DJ 3 years ago, he was nothing short or awesome! Everything you would want a DJ to be, from mixing music to being the MC on dances to teach people so they do not feel left out. When we were searching for DJ's I asked my Fiance(Wife) to meet Paul, he was so professional and courteous towards her that I knew he would do anything to make sure it was the day she dreamed of.

I knew about Paul's music ability, but what really makes him worth every penny is his organizational skills. His website is easy to use for music choices and organizing, and he his very accommodating to what you want. He delivered on all the hype I promised and then some, even to the point where he said he was ahead of schedule (for this time sensitive OCD person) he made me feel relaxed. The dance floor was never empty, and the only thing I would change is to hire him for longer.

Most importantly he is a genuine person who cares about your special day. I feel that he wants to make sure its perfect and that is what drives him. If you give him the chance, you will not be disappointed.

P.S. If you hire Paul, please invite my wife and myself, we know it will be an awesome party!

Highly recommend DJ Paul Michaels! He has been the DJ for two of my family members prior to our wedding and did a fabulous job! As soon as we got engaged, we already knew we needed him to be our DJ. We had a very intercultural wedding (Mexican and Lithuanian) which needed a combination of Spanish, Lithuanian, and English music. DJ Paul Michaels did an awesome job by incorporating all of the music. Our guests really enjoyed themselves, we got multiple compliments, and our dance floor was always filled!!

DJ Paul worked our wedding on October 14th, 2016. His professionalism and organization are unparalleled. He met with us multiple times to ensure that every finite detail was intimately planned. Additionally, he met with the venue to ensure that his set up, tear down, and event execution would be flawless.

His diligence and professionalism truly put us at ease. We had full confidence in him.

Paul had his finger on the pulse of the crowd the entire event. Despite the fact the crowd had eclectic tastes in music, Paul made sure the dance floor was filled to capacity. He really knew how to work the crowd. I personally appreciated how he staggered the speeches with the dinner courses so there wouldn’t be any speech-fatigue. Paul’s timing was on-point.

He helped make our day truly special, and we are forever thankful. To say that we strongly recommend Paul would be an understatement of epic proportions. DJ Paul Michaels is a DJ that I still don't believe is real. He is surely a mythical beast that has ventured into our reality with the sole purpose of being an amazing DJ. Couldn't ask for a more professional, timely, flexible purveyor of fine music. Beware of booking him for weddings though, because he's a handsome devil and might steal your girl. ;)

Worth every penny! Very detail oriented and contacts other vendors to make sure everything is set up so the bride and groom are stress-free on the wedding day. Very knowledgable with a variety of songs and kept all the guests dancing throughout the night! Our name in lights was phenomenal, a great add-on for sure. Paul goes above and beyond to make sure your wedding is special. All the guests were impressed that he considered their song suggestions and not just the couples (which he would approve with the us if it seemed a little strange) He taught popular dances (The Wobble) to an overflowing dance floor. We we're referred to Paul through a friend, and loved his style. Awesome selection, and great quality speakers! We were sold before booking. Our reception went off without a hitch, couldn't have been more happy with the professionalism. I received a thank you email from our photographer who said that Paul was one of the best DJs he has worked with in a while because he let them know about when we would cut our cake and do our first dance, etc. I didn't even think about that! Paul was fantastic in every way. He is highly organized and easy to work with leading up to the wedding. He met with us and helped us create exactly what we wanted. Paul assisted us with up lighting, a video slideshow, music and much more. Paul's easy to use web based portal page enables you to add any songs to your playlist at any point leading up to your big day as well as any songs you dont want. It also allows you to plan out your day and enables you to tell the DJ exactly what you want announced etc. You will not be disappointed if you book Paul. Very enthusiastic and easy to work with. I would definitely recommend him.

Booking Paul for our wedding was a no-brainer! He is very personable and easy to get ahold of with all your wedding questions! I was a picky bride about the music and worried about my 80 and 90 year old family members having a good time as well as our 20 and 30 year old friends- Paul had the whole wedding dancing all night! DJ Paul is awesome! He's great to work with, has lots of options, very accommodating to meet us anywhere, very organized, knew our venue so he could help us plan, and has an amazing website that lets you sample music to help you decide what to use. His website can also be used to put together a timeline for the big day. Everything was perfect at our reception and our friends are still talking about how great the music was and how much fun they had! I've been to many weddings and Paul helped this become the best one I've been to. And I'm not just saying that because it was mine!

Paul was very easy to work with and an excellent DJ for our wedding! He was always available via a phone call, email or even a text whenever we needed anything from him and we had absolutely no concerns or problems with using Paul as our DJ. He even offers a bunch of extra lighting, sound, and visual effect features to help make your wedding day truly one of a kind and what you've always dreamed of. At one point during our reception, he even got on the dance floor and showed all of our guests how to do the 'Wobble' so everyone could join in! Highly recommended DJ!

We first met DJ Paul at another family members wedding in July 2014. As the night went on, we were in awe at how hard and focused he was on making the couples day special and just perfect. We knew right then that we wanted to book him for our wedding, even though we had not yet set a date! At our first meeting, we knew that we had made the right decision. We had lots of ideas and he was able to take them all and help us plan out our special day. As we finally set our date in October 2015, we had the pleasure of working with Paul for about a year and a half. He was so responsive to text, email and calls.

As the wedding day came, we did not have to worry about a single detail. DJ Paul performed our Outdoor Ceremony music as well as our Reception Music and up-lighting. The dance floor was packed all night long, Paul as able to play off of the crowd, he knew what to play out of our playlist and requested songs to get our guest out on the dance floor. The up-lighting was awesome, it started with purple and changed throughout the night.

We highly recommend DJ Paul and his staff to anyone who is looking for a great DJ. We were so happy with our choice!

We were very happy we went with him as our DJ. He made the planning process seem more coordinated with very modern software that you could choose songs for "do" and "do not" play lists. Also he helped to pick out songs for the special dances and games if you needed it. We were happy that he had an assistant since he had some time to do some extras that I think might have been difficult without one. First we had a special effect called “dancing on the clouds” which was the DJ using dry ice to send a cloud of fog under our feet while we danced. This was a surprise hit with our family and friends, while it may be expensive, the wow factor alone makes this a worthwhile endeavor. Also his assistant took photos which were comparable to our own professional photographers. Lastly he assisted in the planning of the wedding as a whole, his website software allows for a timeline and can be used as a guide for the whole day. On top of that, DJ Paul Michael was willing to be in communication with other vendors and helped them queue up photos, make announcements and gave advice to help everything run smoothly. He also responded very fast to all of our questions compared to other experiences we have had in this wedding planning process.

From start to finish, Paul was amazing! I first spoke to him on the phone, & by the end of the call I knew we had found our DJ. At our first meeting he brought up a lot of points that we hadn't even considered which we greatly appreciated. He offered so many great additions to customize our wedding, most of which we used. He responded quickly to our questions and really made sure our day was unique to my husband and I. He really knows what he's doing. We still, a month later are getting comments about our wedding being one of the best and most fun. Paul is the reason for that, you seriously can't get any better.

Paul Michaels is an amazing DJ. When my fiance and I started the search process for a DJ we had an idea of what we wanted. I found DJ Paul Michaels' website (on Wedding Wire) and found exactly what we were looking for. While out at a holiday party and a major venue we started talking about DJs and what would be great for our wedding. The DJ at this event sounded great. I looked up and it was Paul Michaels logo. We had to contact him. I emailed him and called him. He returned my call promptly and we set up an initial meeting. He reviewed his services and went over the basics. When we left that meeting my fiance and I knew we had our DJ. Paul is friendly, professional, down to earth, and easy to get along with. He also has all the latest technology.

Midway to our wedding date we had a second meeting. He went over his website and discussed more details. His website is great. His music selection is broken down many ways. Also, there are plenty of planning tools on his website that are very useful. The timeline feature is extremely useful. Paul also helps with this.

About three weeks prior to our magical day we had our final meeting with Paul. At this meeting we put the finishing touches on everything. He helped with special music selections and finalizing the timeline. From that day on we communicated mainly by phone, email, and text messages. All responses were answered in a timely manner. Paul helped us greatly.

Our wedding day arrived and it was time to party. Paul and his assistant Jon kept the day and night going. He provided the music prior to the ceremony, music for the ceremony (we provided music for him to use), music for the cocktail hour, and music for the reception. His equipment is top notch. When the dancing started he played a wide variety of music (from play list and from crowd interaction). It was great to have DJ Paul Michaels as part of our wedding day. We highly recommend him.

DJ Paul Michaels was amazing to work with for our recent wedding. He is a fantastic DJ, entertainer and wedding coordinator all rolled in one. DJ Paul was extremely flexible with all of our requests, worked hard to find every song we wanted and legit knows everything about weddings inside and out. We had a couple of in-person meetings, many email exchanges and phone conversations. DJ Paul was extremely responsive and did an amazing job putting our timeline together and coordinating all of the many changes we had for our wedding day.

He uses an online service so you can easily pick your "must play", "play if possible" and "do not play songs". This was so fun and easy to you. I logged in MANY times to add songs and make changes, it was so simple to use. He also took requests from the wedding guests within our limits. Our dance floor was packed all night long and the nonstop dancing was absolutely thanks to DJ Paul.

DJ Paul provided us with an amazing light show and the coolest "dancing in the clouds" effect for our first dance together. People were in awe and I would absolutely recommend doing the clouds for a wedding. We kept it a secret and it definitely had the wow factor. The photos DJ Paul provided us were AWESOME.

Hands down DJ Paul is the best wedding DJ I've seen, 100% recommend him to everyone!

I am so glad my husband and I chose to have Paul to be our DJ for our wedding. He did such an amazing job, and his experience and knowledge with weddings was also very helpful throughout the entire process. Paul was very responsive and helpful all throughout, responding to our questions by phone and e-mail very quickly. Paul also gave really good suggestions that made our event that much better! For example, after seeing our venue (which he visited to check out), he suggested to add uplighting, which I'm so glad we did, because it really added to the ambiance of our space. Then, Paul went a step further on our wedding day and acted as a coordinator of the ceremony and reception, making sure that everyone, including our pastor, catering staff, bridal party, etc., was all on the same page and timed event accordingly. Everything went so smoothly throughout the day, and I know that Paul played a big part in that. Also, Paul is an amazing DJ. I have been to so many weddings where there were very few people on the dance floor, and by the end of the night, no one was even dancing. That was definitely not the case at my wedding! Paul kept people dancing all night long until the reception was over. He picked great songs, interacted with the guests, and even led a really fun group line dance, which resulted in some great pictures. We received SO many compliments about Paul. I could not have asked for a better reception full of dancing! To top it all off, Paul then created a blog for our wedding, which included over 100 pictures that he took personally and a summary of our event that we could share with our guests. It was a pleasant surprise that I was so excited about and thankful for! As you can see, I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with Paul. I would highly recommend him to anyone that is looking for a DJ for their wedding or other special event, and have been referring his services constantly to people ever since. My husband and I were married on October 25th and we absolutely had the time of our lives, and a big reason was because of the music of the night. Dj Paul Michaels did an outstanding job. Paul was amazing! He was by far the most helpful and professional vendor i dealt with for my wedding. He was always there with suggestions for us when we needed it. He brought an assistant to make sure all set ups, break downs, and moves went smoothly. He was also very on top of timing for the day and actually kept our venue more on schedule instead of the opposite! Paul even went to the venue site (outdoor wedding) a few weeks prior to scout it out and be sure he was prepared for everything. I have never heard of any DJ doing this before!! Paul and his assistant were excellent!
We booked his company for my daughter's
wedding at Meson Sabika.
The service was outside which required speakers and microphones as well as music.
The reception inside the pavilion also had to be set up with duplicate equipment.
Set up was flawless.
Operation through out the evening was well timed and on track. The dance floor was never empty! The lighting package was well worth the additional cost.
You could tell that Paul enjoys the work and enjoys seeing guests happy. He went from table to table writing down requests- impressive!
Somebody dropped a glass on the dance floor and he immediately switched the music to "walking on broken glass" funny and
Functional.
A true expert at his craft.
It was a great memorable night.

Paul was a great dj. He was extremely flexible to our needs and provided us with an experience tailored to us. He was extremely responsive to email. His planning form on his website was really nice because we could edit the songs we wanted on our own time. During the event he walked around to the tables and asked for requests from the crowd to get a good feel for the best songs to play. We planned our wedding while working abroad in Europe, and Paul was extremely accommodating. We talked several times via Google Hangout since we were all in different locations. He was also very thorough about everything that we had to do and he responded quickly to our emails. From the moment we met Paul we felt confident about his ability to make our wedding great. He had a planning form on his website so that we could plan the timing and order for the introductions, toasts, special dances, etc. and he took careful notes on how to pronounce everyone's name correctly. He also planned our entrance to the reception so that it would line up perfectly with the music - and it did! During the reception, he went around to each table individually to ask for song requests. People were commenting all night about how personable and approachable the DJ was. They were also amazed at how smooth everything ran throughout the night. Paul was always available during the months before the wedding if I ever needed to contact him. He always responded in a timely manner and I could send him more ideas pretty much whenever I felt like it. He made sure he understood us so that he could give us everything we wanted once the wedding came. At the wedding he took care of everything and guided us through everything from our intros to our bouquet/garter toss and even taught our guests the dance to a song so that we could all do it and have fun. DJ Paul Michaels was a perfect fit for our wedding. He was professional throughout the entire evening and kept the reception moving smoothly. Our wedding party was a very rowdy group, too, but that did not phase him. He just kept everything flowing. I was actually amazed at how calm he was which helped me remain calm!

Well my wedding was my very first experience with booking a DJ. I was not sure what to expect. I was referred to a couple different DJ's who claimed they were the "best". Then I was referred to Paul and I have to say, he not only met my ridiculously high expectations, he surpassed them exponentially! He had such an excellent grasp of the crowd & knew what he should play depending upon the mood. Having Paul was the closest thing I had to a wedding planner. He went above & beyond traditional DJ responsibilities. Upon meeting with him I was blown away by his detail oriented & professional approach to hosting my event; which was not at all what I was expecting, but everything that I needed!!!! I had no clue all the intrinsic details of being a DJ & how they are paramount in making the event go off perfectly. To my surprise, it is a very serious & TIME CONSUMING job that needs someone who is very detail oriented to truly make the event special. Paul is the best of both worlds, he has a technical IT background w/ a gift for good music. Therefore, you get the best technology with a DJ that makes the event amazing!!!! I know that if I had used any other DJ it would of greatly subtracted from my event. Who you entrust this specific responsibility to, can truly make or break the event. You can count on him for a well orchestrated event. I was really lucky to have been referred to him. My event was at the Lyric Opera House, which is fairly particular about what vendors they allow us to use. Paul went and met with the event coordinator & was always available. He kept in touch with her via email & was organizing things w/ her behind the scenes when I had no idea it was even going on (and for a very busy bride, this is invaluable). I felt in very good hands with Paul & would highly recommend his services to anyone. My experience with him was undoubtedly & absolutely superb & one that has made me a client of his for life!

Paul did an amazing job at our wedding reception! He kept the party going the whole night and was so helpful with every aspect of the reception. He made sure things stayed on schedule and had plenty of advice to give us for planning! He did a great job making sure everyone was having a fun time! He did everything he could to make sure the bride and groom were happy! He even took requests from the guests.

Paul was great for our wedding! We had him do the music for our outdoor ceremony as well as the reception, and we got to pick exactly what music we wanted playing and when, and Paul made it all work, even when we chose a couple of songs that he didn't already have in his library (we picked some very obscure things, he has a TON of music!) Our guests commented on how the music at the ceremony was just enough; it could be heard clearly but wasn't too overpowering. The music at the reception was awesome! When we met with him beforehand, Paul talked about how he would read the crowd and change the music as necessary, and he did just that without making it really obvious. I was surprised at how many people stayed on the dance floor almost the whole night! We were lucky to have a DJ that was not only excellent at what he was doing, but cared about each individual couple and checked in with us throughout the night to make sure we were happy.

Honestly Paul was a great DJ to work with. He was able to make everything relating to the entertainment worry-free for me. This was a HUGE deal when I know I was already a "bride-zilla". My husband and I met with him ahead of time and had numerous phone calls to confirm all the little things that popped into our head later on, just to find out Paul was always a step ahead of us. In terms of the actual wedding, he had a nice clean setup and I can't think of anything that went wrong the whole night. He even came up to my husband and I at the head table because so many people kept clinking glasses and said he was going to turn it around so we could actually eat our dinner and instead we were going to make other couples kiss! I'm recommending him to all my friends for their weddings!

Paul was a great partner for our wedding. I say partner because he went above and beyond the normal DJ responsibilities while helping us plan our event! His advice and wedding expertise really helped us plan an incredible guest experience, which was very important to us! His software is easy to use, but sophisticated, and Paul was easy to schedule meetings with either in person or on Google Hangouts. Paul also offers fair pricing and a lot of fun extras. We had him provide our uplighting, which totally transformed the event space during dancing and helped make it a great party! Our guests never left the dance floor once it opened and it was hard to get everyone to leave at the end of the night; it just shows how much fun everyone had during the reception! Anyone looking for a DJ in the Chicagoland area should look no further!

Paul was early in setting up his equipment and testing the sound. He was professional and patient in taking and reviewing song requests to ensure they were appropriate. I would definitely recommend DJ Paul for any corporate event.

We heard of DJ Paul through a friend of his that he went to school with. At the first meeting I could tell he was very thorough and took his job seriously. Every detail was needed and his goal was to help make our wedding perfect. His online system worked out really well, gave lots of suggestions for when we got hung up on finding a song, and made it easy to work on over time at home at our pace rather then try and hash it all out at once in one meeting. What I really liked was that he was all about the bride, whatever she wanted was what she would get, not that he ignored the groom or everyone else, but knows the wedding was to be the most important day of her life and wanted it to be as such. My wife's goal was to have the dance floor packed all night and not to let the party die out, and he succeeded over and above. In addition to music, he also brought up-lighting which tied our big room together so that it all felt like a party not just the dance floor, the projector and spot lighting for the dance floor, and what my wife really liked was his dancing on the clouds effect. For our first dance he had this fog machine that filled up the dance floor with fog making it look like we were literally dancing on clouds, awesome; none of the guests knew about it before hand and was definitely a highlight for everyone. So to those out there looking for a cheap dj with speakers that can play the normal top 40 songs, DJ Paul is not for you, he is a professional offering a service, and one must pay for professional service.

Excellent DJ, many good ideas, Paul knows how weddings work, and what is /is not needed. Asked many questions at initial get together which did not make sense at first, but after explaining, realized these were necessary questions that we would not have thought of. This guy is good.

This was the second time that our family used DJ Paul Michaels. He will not disappoint. We had multiple generations at my dad's birthday party - from babies to the elderly and Paul accommodated requests that spanned decades. DJ Paul did a great job keeping the dance floor filled and even got on the floor and led us in a line dance. I highly recommend DJ Paul!

DJ Paul knows what he is doing and has that professional experience. He has many suggestions based on his knowledge but is completely flexible in what you need. He clearly has a blast while he is DJing too!

Paul was very professional and fun to work with through the whole wedding planning. He has a site that makes it really easy to pick all your specialty songs and request certain songs. This site also helps u find a lot of songs that we had not thought of. He helped plan the timing of the events for the evening, such as introductions, cake cutting, ceremony, speeches. We had a great time with him and he kept our dance floor full. Definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a fun yet professional Dj. He also took a lot of great pictures for us throughout the night.

Paul is very knowledgeable about what's involved in a Mitzvah party. We also appreciate that Paul and his crew don't dress in cheezy, cheap tuxedos. They dress casually to appeal to the kids.

Treated a COVID Bride horribly

We wanted DJ Paul for our wedding because a friend had recommended him. We had to pay up to get Paul specifically but we thought it would be worth it. WRONG. When we had to cancel our original wedding due to COVID, he was completely unreasonable about discussing us getting any money back. He had performed NO services and kept our enormous deposit. All of our other vendors were so much kinder and understanding during these unforeseen circumstances, he was the ONLY one who pulled in a lawyer to make us stop asking for our refund. He has caused a great deal of stress from his lack of kindness and flexibility, I would 0/10 recommend him to anyone as there are so many nice and flexible DJ's out there, why deal with a mean one?
