  Yosemite expert

  Eloping in Yosemite was a wonderful decision. I love the park, and it has a grandeur that is so special. Patrick is incredibly experienced. He sees opportunities for photos that were invisible to me at the moment, but ended up great. Patrick spent some time at the beginning mentally mapping out the day. He calculated the season, time of day, weather, and got us to spots that a less experienced photographer would have missed. Patrick went above and beyond the day-of, and was a friendly professional presence. The photos are of course amazing.

  Lets just say I booked Patrick before I booked any of the other vendors including location in Yosemite for our wedding. Patrick is a great photographer and so easy to work with. I was nervous I was going to feel awkward having my picture taken multiple times that day but Patrick is so easy going and down to earth it didn't bother me in the least. Truly an amazing photographer!! We are so so happy we found Patrick Pike!! We will have gorgeous photos of our special day in Yosemite with all of our loved ones for years to come thanks to Patrick!!
  We all thank you very much for the truly amazing work you provide!!

  Patrick is simply amazing! He is full of great recommendations for photos and helps with posing while still making you feel comfortable. The one thing I truly wanted for my wedding was great pictures and Patrick most definitely made that happen! Not only is he a great photographer, he's a great person and a joy to be around.

  Patrick's photos are amazing! He is incredibly flexible, unbelievably creative and extremely nice to top it all off. I would recommend Patrick's services to anyone who needed fabulous photos for any occasion. He is simply the best.

  We are so excited to see our wedding pictures. We have seen a preview and it is absolutely beautiful. One person said it was out of a postcard. Our day with Patrick and Katie was filled with memories that we will keep for a lifetime.

  Patrick is truly amazing! Everyone we show our picture to comments on how well he captured us and the scenery (we got married in Yosemite). Not only does he take wonderful photos, he is a dream to work with. Super sweet and makes you feel so comfortable. I highly recommend him!

  Can't say enough good things about Patrick! He was so nice and accommodating and was an awesome photographer. He was also extremely flexible when we arrived a little late (surprise surprise!) and had to change some of our plans. We're still waiting on getting all the pictures, but have seen the ones he posted on his blog and are very excited about seeing the rest. We've gotten tons of compliments so far from everyone we've directed to Patrick's blog - they keep saying, "wow, you guys had a great photographer!"
  His prices are reasonable compared to what many wedding photographers charge in the Bay Area, and he provides you with the digital files so you can decide on your own how you want to print them (and have all the digital files forever!)
  I'll check in again if for any reason I change my mind after seeing the final delivery of all the pictures, but so far, can't see any reason why I would.

  Solid Guide & Great Photographer

  Patrick was great to work with. He was responsive and allayed our fears and worries about the wildfires and Covid restrictions at the park for our trip to Yosemite. He listened to what we wanted for our photos and captured our vision perfectly, including breathtaking sunrise and sunset scenes. He was a knowledgeable guide who took us to beautiful places in the park for amazing photos.
  
  Patrick was also careful to pose us where we wouldn’t harm any vegetation at each shooting location. You can tell he is great at featuring the magnificence of Yosemite in the photos alongside his clients. We got a few preview photos quickly, and the remaining photos were received within the time frame expected. He worked well with our videographer so we were able to capture plenty of video at the locations he chose.
  
  We had an issue getting an email response at the end of our engagement. However, we are happy with the overall experience with Patrick and of the quality of photos we received from our elopement day. We would recommend him to anyone who wants an excellent guide and photographer at Yosemite.

  We booked Patrick for our wedding photography in June 2014, a year in advance, based on a recommendation from a friend. We were travelling from the UK so arranging things via telephone did become a little difficult closer to the time. When we arrived in California we wanted to make sure everything was in place by meeting up but that didn't quite work out - Patrick is a busy man so any discussions you need to have, have outside of the summer period!
  
  Any nerves we may have had were put at ease as on the day as he was brilliant. As others have said he puts you at ease and is really personable. Whilst he was driving us around Yosemite to some amazing locations, we asked if we could get copies of the photos electronically for a celebration we had planned in the UK shortly after. He was more than happy to oblige. The wedding album itself took a little longer, but when it did come through it was superb and definitely worth the money.
  
  All round, he's a great photographer and one of the best in the Yosemite area so if you get the chance to work with him I wouldn't hesitate to give a recommendation.

  Patrick's photos of our wedding were absolutely incredible. He is quite talented, and the composition of his photos are stunning and unique. His views capture the sentiment and importance of the event. My only complaint is he would not return phone calls or emails to my husband or myself six weeks after the event to give a status on our photo proofs. It was frustrating not to be able to communicate with him, but then see our photos posted on his Facebook page while we were waiting to see proofs. I found this to be unprofessional, however finally receiving his beautiful photos took the edge off of this frustration. Also of note, his prices for prints are higher than competitors.

  could use better communication skills. a lot of pictures had lighting issues but a good enough amount were usable. our pictures were late. he was very nice and very professional in person and made sure we felt comfortable. i understand that this is a once in a life time experience but i dont feel we got enough pictures to cover the cost of his service. yes, i would use him again because i think he knows what to do. yes, i would recommend him. just encourage him to communicate and talk more

  Patrick was great the day of... but leading up to it he did not reply to email for a month or two at one point. He is a bit pricey, but I think all photographers are these days. Also we paid extra for the photo booth and were a bit surprised at the lack of props that came with it.

  His help in planning our elopement was so great, but from about a week before the date itself up until receiving the photos 4 months after the date they were promised (and being *extremely* displeased with the process and the results), I'd say that unless you are willing to micromanage, this isn't the way you want to experience/remember your special day.

  After initially falling in love with Patrick’s photography and thinking the world of him as a person and as a friend, we were left extremely hurt and disappointed. The day of the wedding was fine. The problem arose after we had given him our final payment, and I wanted to work on the wedding album with our $1,000 credit. He simply disappeared. For literally 4 months I could not find a way to reach him by phone or email. I was honestly concerned if he and his family were okay, so I contacted our wedding coordinator at the Ahwahnee to see if she had seen him. He was apparently upset that I had done that and sent us an album in the mail that I had zero input in creating. There was no note or form of communication with the album. I am still saddened by this experience.

  I have read many great reviews about Patrick Pike and the quality of his photography; however, he left my husband and I in the lurch when it came time for our wedding!
  After booking Patrick as our photographer in January 2013 for our September 19 wedding last year, my hubby (to be) and I tried to contact him on no less 10 occasions via phone and email; however, we never heard another word from him! I even had our Minister attempt to contact him, but once again no luck.
  
  It was hard enough organising a US wedding from Australia (with three children) without the stress of this on top of it all! I am still angry to this day that we never heard from him.
  But….on a brighter note, I cannot recommend Ken Mendoza high enough as a photographer! He was not only a great photographer, but very personable and was kind enough to take us on an 8 hour tour of Yosemite National Park to have our photos taken. He was also very reasonably priced!
