We had a outdoor wedding and chose the marble cake with chocolate bourbon buttercream and mini chocolate chips naked cake. It fit the venue perfectly! Not only was it beautiful it was delicious!!

Everything about the cake far surpassed anything I could have ever hoped for! Lori captured the exact picture from my mind and created the wedding cake of my dreams!! From the gorgeous details along the sides, to the pretty "K" monogram, and finally to the amzing taste!!! The cake was truly perfect!

Pastries By Vreeke made me my dream wedding cake! Lori is not only an amazingly creative professional, she is enthusiastic-fun- and genuine. I brought snips of ideas to our consultation and Lori created the most beautiful cake - better than I could have ever imagined! All of the cake flavors are so delicious, it was hard to decide! We ended up choosing Mocha Chip and Raspberry Lemon Curd!! Pastries By Vreeke has reasonable prices and was worth every penny! I recommend Pasties By Vreeke to everyone I know!

Lori baked my daughter's wedding cake and it was absolutely gorgeous!!! It was elegant, impressive and better than my daughter imagined!!! She listened to what Tracy wanted and sketched a picture on the spot and later collaborated with our florist to provide flowers to cascade down the cake. It was lovely! Lori is easy to work with, and her smile makes you feel like she is just as excited for our momentous occasion. The cake was tender, moist, and so delicious! I would highly recommend Lori!!! She is the BEST!!! Love you Lori! <3

Lori created an AMAZING cake for my daughter’s wedding that pulled together the beach wedding theme with the bridal colors and fresh flowers. Not only was the cake a beautiful work of art, it was DELICIOUS! Lori offers several cake flavors and cream fillings that are all very tasty so it was a lot of fun sampling her products. My fiancée at the time and I had looked into 4 different bakeries. 3 of which immediately tried to persuade us into changing the structure of our cake because either they weren't comfortable with making the cake we wanted, or they were not able to do it. We wanted a chandelier type of cake. (The biggest tier is at the top, working its way down, the tiers get smaller).

Long story short, Vreeke was the ONLY one who didn't hesitate and immediately said "YES! I can totally do that!" She was very excited and full of energy about the project, which made us very happy. However, the taste of the cake is also just as important as the design of the cake. Vreeke provided us with generous portions of her samples, which were all very delicious. We went with the Cookies & Cream and Strawberry Shortcake. (Everyone LOVED the cake and the flavors!) Vreeke went above and beyond to give us our dream wedding cake. We started brainstorming of what we could have on the cake and she just had so much energy and ideas, that we were both really excited about her making our cake. She even added little crystal beadings to really make it look like an actual chandelier. Vreeke was very professional and kind. If I could give her more stars, I definitely would.

I would DEFINITELY recommend her to anyone that needs their cake done. She does an exceptional job and takes on challenges, and triumphs at the end. Her pricing wasn't bad at all!

I just wish I could add a picture of the cake for everyone to see!

We selected Lori as our cake designer based on her beautiful work, diverse talents and delectable cakes! We knew that we wanted to incorporate color and texture into our cake without overshadowing our cake topper and Lori delivered on all of our wishes! The cake was delicious and the perfect "icing" on top of a wonderful, memorable day. We loved how Lori pulled together unique pieces of our interests and tied everything together beautifully with the rest of our wedding theme. The best part is the little detailing that looked decorative to the majority of our guests, but was actually a reference to a video game! Lori made the whole process so easy, even though we were planning the wedding from nearly 2,000 miles away. She definitely helped make our day sweet!

Lori is just beyond words. The care, quality, and love she puts into her work is beyond anything you can hope for. She made our wedding cake and did a gorgeous candy buffet. We had so so so many compliments on both the style and flavor of the cake (we went for the hazelnut crunch!) and everyone's inner child came out with the candy buffet. Lori and Jennifer can make anything happen. She used our wedding colors of purple and grey for the entire candy buffet. Our cake was fabulous and represented the mood we were going for throughout the evening. She is quick to respond and very detail oriented. You would be a fool to go anywhere else. Happy Wedding!

Working with Lori was so much fun! She encouraged us to create a cake that was more "us" and we loved the end result! She was very accommodating and patient with us and offered to meet with us until we got the final design down pat. After three meetings, we had the final design in our hands and we were so excited! We were so blown away once we saw the final design of our cake on our wedding day! Truly beautiful! Our guests are still talking about how beautiful and detailed our cake was and how great it tasted!

Words cannot express how wonderful Lori and Pastries by Vreeke are! We chose this business to do our wedding cake, and had a very non-traditional, challenging cake in mind. Lori was totally up for the challenge and excited to accommodate us. She had given us original quote based on our budget, and even after she discovered it should have probably been more considering the work involved, she honored her original quote without us even asking! It meant a lot to us because we were definitely excited to work with her, especially after meeting her and tasting her cakes!

Her cakes are absolutely gorgeous and taste even more delicious than they look! She was always quick to respond to us and was extremely organized. It's been a month and our guests are still raving over how delicious and spectacular our cake was! Hands down, Pastries by Vreeke was one of the best decisions we made with our wedding vendors! Lori is amazing and obviously so passionate about what she does. We can't wait to eat our top tier on our one year anniversary!

Pastries By Vreeke cake was to die for...one compliment after another not only for how breathtakingly beautiful it was, but how good it tasted. The wedding cake was such an important element. It was where I could inject my style...bling, of course, and boy, did you ever succeed at that! I can't wait to see the professional photos. I'm sure it's going to sparkle big time!

OMG the most amazing and delicious cakes come from Pastries by Vreeke! We settled on alternating tiers with the Strawberry Shortcake and the Chocolate Marble Swirl. Jennifer helped us design a beautiful five tiered cake for our 150 wedding guests. We ended up having fewer guests, but you know what? All the cake was gone at the end! The sign of some really good cake. Many guests commented on how lovely the cake was inside and out. We couldn't have asked for better service start to finish. Thank you again!

Lori did an amazing job capturing my vision for our wedding. The subtle parts of Disney incorporated into the cake added "magic" to the wedding and the cake. Seriously, amazing and wonderful, just as expected. We had an incredible wedding and feel truly fortunate to have had Lori on our team. The cake was delicious, everyone was dying over both flavors! Also, the gluten-free gals were in heaven, one of them said it as the best gf cake she has ever had! Everything was just perfect. Now, we're just trying to hunt down what happened to the top layer! We think it may have been cut up with the rest? No biggy. Trevor saved us a slice of each and it was superb.

Angel and I wanted to thank you for the awesome job you did on our wedding cake. All the little details from the ribbon to the flowers matching my dress, it was stunning...I was more than happy with the cake it over exceeded my expectations and even for Angel who was somewhat hesitant to add the flowers he just loved the balance of the extravagant detail I wanted with the classic simple lines he wanted. It was the perfect blend of US represented in the cake.

Our guest keep telling us how good the chocolate raspberry cake was they love the combination plus the moisture of the cake. It was perfect!! thank you Lori.

Our cake was definitely one of the highlights for our wedding. Everyone loved the design and the creativity. It made everything more fun. The flavors were absolutely delicious!!! Thanks Lori for making our special day even more unique.

"Lori was wonderful to work with from the very beginning. Her cake flavors were all so great that we had a very hard time deciding the flavors we wanted:). We went with the strawberry shortcake and the Baileys fudge cake. They were both delicious! We had multiple guests tell us that the cake was so good that they stole other guests pieces on top of eating there own! As for the cake design, it turned out to be incredibly beautiful! Lori took the effort to sit down with us and discuss to the design to make sure we were truly happy with how it turned out. We sent her a copy of our invitation so that it would match the design. She did an amazing job making the cake match our wedding theme! We couldn't be happier with how the cake turned out. Thank you so much Lori. You are amazing!"

Thank you Lori for creating a most amazingly beautiful and delicious cake. There were many "delicious" compliments and it was so "cool" to see our original design come to fruition! One of the nicest parts of planning Rachel and Joel's wedding was meeting and working with some really wonderful, nice, and talented people. You were one of those great individuals! Guests adored the cake, and how unique it was! The cake itself was moist and so yummy, and the outside really captured the fun/playful mood we were trying to convey. The Sixlet candies that were in between the tiers were such a great unexpected touch, I had several people come up to me and rave about it! Thank you Lori for taking my vision and making it a reality! It couldn't have been better.

Also, the firetruck cake was PERFECT. The details were spot-on, and all the guys from Station 16 loved seeing it and took about a thousand pictures that will be displayed at the station. Matt was so surprised by it and he absolutely adored it.

Lori is incredible and the cake was amazing. It was an exact replica of Casa del Sol at Hearst Castle. I could not believe the details!!! Everyone loved it as did Michael and I. It was perfect and wonderful and I really hated to have to cut through it! Thanks so much for all your hard work in putting that cake together for us :)

Pastries By Vreeke created such a beautiful cake. It was everything and more than I expected! You went above and beyond. So many of our guests were saying that it was one of the most beautiful cakes they had ever seen and they loved all the specials details it had! It was absolutely delicious. The cookies and cream flavor was such a hit! Randy and I enjoyed it for awhile after too!!

We went to numerous bakeries before we had our appointment with Lori. When we met with Lori, we knew she was "the one". We didn't have any idea how we wanted our cake. Based on a couple questions Lori had asked us, Lori mocked up a design and we LOVED it. To top it off, we loved how her cake tasted. Our wedding cake was simple, yet unique and that's exactly what we wanted. We can't wait to use Lori for our future family events.

I can't even begin to tell you how amazing our CAKES were! Lori did a fabulous job helping me figure out what I wanted for my pine cone themed wedding and made us the most beautiful, tasty cake imaginable. She also made a fabulous grooms cake shaped like a Broncos garden gnome that no one could believe was actually cake because it was so cool looking. Above and beyond my wildest dreams!! Our cake turned out even better than we were expecting! Our guests couldn't stop talking about it and it totally pulled together our travel theme. The details you added with the top tier, cake base, the travel stickers and luggage tag were so personal and impressive! In addition, it was great to work with you and the cake tasted amazing! We wanted a very unique cake for our wedding and Lori did a great job of getting us just that. We had a topsy turvy three tier cake. It was done in Laker colors (Purple, Gold, and White). It was exactly what we wanted and it tasted delicious. I think the grooms cake was my favorite though. I asked her to make a Dodger's baseball man, made of cheesecake. It turned out so perfectly and it tasted just as perfect. I think I ate more of that then my wedding cake. It was worth every penny.

Angel and I wanted to thank Pasttries By Vreeke for the awesome job you did on our wedding cake. All the little details from the ribbon to the flowers matching my dress, it was stunning...I was more than happy with the cake, it over exceeded my expectations and even for Angel who was somewhat hesitant to add the flowers he just loved the balance of the extravagant detail I wanted with the classic simple lines he wanted. It was the perfect blend of US represented in the cake. Our guests keep telling us how good the chocolate raspberry cake was they love the combination plus the moisture of the cake.

Lori did an AMAZING job on both the wedding and grooms cake. The wedding cake was exactly what I envisioned and the groom's cake was a huge hit, both with the guests and with Mark! He was so surprised to see that Lori created a coconut with his favorite coconut water inside. It was absolutely perfect and Mark was able to get his coconut water right out of the middle of the cake with a straw. To top it off, it was a carrot cake, his favorite. Thank you Lori for your creativity.

My husband and I both fell in love with Lori. she is very creative and flexible. We went in to her bakery and told her one idea we wanted and the next week we changed our minds to a non traditional design something more fitting to our hawiian themed wedding. When we told her she was very excited to do something more creative then our 1st idea. We both loved how are cake turned out so colorful, and the cake was also very delicious. Our guests to this day ask about are beautiful cake. Thanks so much Lori for making our wedding more special with your work of art. also want to thank you for our baby shower cake. Lori is amazing!! We loved the cake and we had so many people (in the industry) say that was the coolest wedding cake they have seen!

Lori Vreeke was my lifesaver. We had to change who was making our cake at the last minute and we were referred to Pastries By Vreeke. Lori was easy to talk to, we felt like we knew her already. She was fun to plan with and
listened to all of our ideas, creating a 5 tier chocolate frosted cake with a textured look,
as the perfect back drop for flowers. She created two tiny lady bugs on the top tier to hide among the
flowers.

We got to have three flavors of cake; she even made decaf mocha chip just for us. The mocha chip was amazing, which says a lot coming from two picky chocoholics. Even a few friends who say they "hate cake" came up to us at the wedding to say how much they loved the mocha chip, not too sweet but just right.

My husband and I loved working with Lori on our wedding cake. She was extreamly profesional and creative. I would recomend her work to any bride. We also used this bakery for the grooms cake the night before the big day. It was a beautiful cake and it made our day just that much better. Advise: Don't wait till the last second to book, she gets very busy.

We previewed cakes on the Pastries by Vreeke website before we met with Lori Vreeke, so we already had a good idea of how pretty and creative her cakes are. When we met with her, we were not sure what we wanted, and she was happy to talk about the different options. She looked through my photos of different styles, and showed us books of her photos, and that was very helpful to clarify the look we wanted. She gave us very large slices of different flavors to try, so we felt confident that the cake would taste as good as it looked. I wanted a fondant covered cake for the smooth look, and I was very happy that Lori's fondant was delicious. (I had already tasted fondant at two other bakeries, and they were both icky.) When I saw the cake at the reception, I was blown away at how beautiful it was. Lori worked with our florist (Debbie Fields, Floral Fields) to create the most gorgeous lush cascade of flowers down the side of the satin-smooth cake. We had two flavors, strawberry shortcake with strawberry buttercream, and chocolate-bourbon-coffee with chocolate ganache. So beautiful, so yummy. The guest were amazed at how beautiful the cake was, and how delicious. The cake is such a huge visual element at the reception, and the photos are just beautiful. Lori did a fantastic job, and we recommend her highly.

Lori from Cakes by Vreeke was amazing! At our cake tasting she made 4 mini cakes to try, they were all delicious! We decided on the chocolate Baileys cake and the strawberry shortcake. On the day of the wedding, the cake was just as delicious as the first day we tried them. We actually had people tell us that they ate all of the other people's cake at their table! Lori was very responsive to all of our questions and coordinated with our florist for the flowers on our cake. The design turned out to be beautiful. Lori created the design from our wedding invitation on the cake. It looked perfect! Overall, we couldn't have been happier with our cake! Book Lori from Cakes by Vreeke now!

Best wedding cake I've ever had. I still dream about my cake from Lori. My husband and I have our top tier in the freezer and it's taking all the restraint I have not to break in a little early and take a bite.

We wanted a simple but elegant cake and Lori definitely delivered! She listened to what we wanted and provided a sketch with the details we discussed before we left the initial consultation. She also packaged us up samples of the cakes we wanted to try and let us take them home so that we could taste them in the comfort of our own home. The strawberry shortcake and the red velvet were our favorite and ended up being the flavors we chose for our cake. Her prices are pretty reasonable, considering it's LA, and definitely worth it! The cake looked beautiful and tasted amazing. She was great to work with and anyone who is getting married in the area should definitely check her out!

I had visited several wedding places including layers, simple cupcakes, and vienna.. I wasn't impressed until I found Lori after searching online.. She was wonderful to work with. I came in with a limited budget and a photograph of a cake that I had found in a magazine. She was able to work with me within my budget and created a cake that looked far better than it did in the photo.
I was living in Rochester, New York at the time and she was able to communicate with me via email throughout my planning process. When I came to California to visit, she had all different samples ready and I appreciated that she let us take the time to make a decision (hard to choose - flavor wise). The only con i have was - i wasnt able to taste the cake itself, just the fillings. I had to trust her with the cake and it ended up being delicious. We didnt have any left overs (except for the top part of the cake that was saved for my husband and I).

I hired Lori over a year before my wedding. We kept in touch over the year and came up with 2 amazing cakes. I was so set on giving my husband a grooms cake that really meant a lot at heart. A 1963 impala. The concept and price was set. I gave her a model die cast of the exact car, one week before my wedding I was told it could not be done in a convertible befause it would take hours to do all the details, and it would more than double my price. I agreed to the hard top, but was very sad, for the entire year I was looking forward seeing it completed. Once the cake arrived to the venue it was still done incorrectly, it was a 4 door not a two door. Things happen and overall it turned out great but I just wish I could have known sooner, I would have paid the double price if it wasn't a week before my wedding. My cake came out fabulous but was missing details as well.

It takes a lot to get me to write a negative review for a business, and I don't do it unless I am really disappointed. We hired Pastries by Vreeke to do our wedding cake based on the positive Yelp reviews and the baker was recommended to us by our venue, Calamigos Ranch. My fiance and I were also really impressed by the portfolio photos on the bakery website as well as in the studio. Our wedding cake design was very simple in compassion to what Lori Vreeke has created for her other clients. The cake was designed by my fiance, a Graphic Designer, and it was meant to be one of the design highlights of our wedding. Lori asked us for a few things which we thought would ensure a perfect wedding cake. 1. A template of our cake design drawn to scale. 2. Some ribbon in the colors we wanted the fondant to be. Well, we provided a scale drawing of the pattern we wanted on our cake, and we provided the ribbon in the colors we wanted the cake to be. What we got was hideous. We were so shocked.

We wanted a purple cake. We got a brown cake, and it wasn't even a nice shade of brown. Lori told us that she could make the fondant any color we wanted which is why we sent her the ribbon. The cake did not match the ribbon. It wasn't even remotely close in color. The cake was also damaged. The fondant was bubbled in places and there were stains of blue icing here and there. I know that no cake is "perfect," but come on, this one was fugly. Lori also tried to say that the cake looked fine when she dropped it off and she sent us her pictures to prove it, but she conveniently didn't send us pictures of the most damaged side, and you can clearly see the damage in the pictures she did send us. She also tried to suggest that whatever damage we saw was not caused by her. Rather it was caused by the staff at Calamigos Ranch. Way to throw the venue that has been recommending your business to their clients, under the bus...

Overall, it looked like a rushed job. It also looked like Lori passed the work on to someone less talented than she claims to be. We feel like she didn't work on our cake, personally. You can judge for yourself, based on our pictures. This cake cost my mother over $1,750 and it was maybe worth half of it. The one positive thing I can say about this cake was that it tasted wonderful. Everyone raved about the filling. The ingredients were fresh and the quality was excellent, but a wedding cake should look as good as it tastes. So, I cannot recommend Pastries by Vreeke as a wedding cake vendor. I don't know why my cake came out the way it did. Maybe Lori was having an off day. Maybe she gave the cake to one of her less-talented employees. Maybe she had a more expensive, more interesting cake to work on that day. It doesn't really matter.
