Matthew was the most exceptional and talented officiant we could have ever asked for. Not only was he accommodating with our short notice, he was prepared, extremely nice, and made our day special. We were able to customize exactly what we wanted, the duration, and the option to say our own vows. Matt’s delivery was executed in a respectful manner when telling our guests to please put their phones away during our ceremony to allow our guests to be in the moment.
If you want your guests telling you how amazing he was, choose Matthew!!

We had the absolute honor of being married by Pastor Matt in April of 2025, and now that we’ve just celebrated our one year wedding anniversary, we can honestly say his words have stayed with us every single day.
From our very first meeting over the phone, since we were planning from out of state, Pastor Matt made us feel completely at ease and so confident in our decision. It felt like we had known him forever.
On our wedding day, he went above and beyond. At the altar, he helped calm my husband’s nerves and brought such a peaceful, steady presence to the moment. His message was so heartfelt and meaningful.
One of the things that has stuck with us most is when he said, “establish a home that puts God first. The closer you get to God, the closer you will get to each other.” We have carried that with us into our marriage and genuinely strive to live by it every day.
He ended his beautiful message by reminding us that if we wake up each morning and ask ourselves, “how can I serve my husband or wife today,” we will have a beautiful marriage. That simple but powerful advice has shaped the way we start each day, and we have fully embraced it.

A truly amazing ceremony!!!
We couldn’t have asked for a better officiant for our elopement. From the very beginning, he went above and beyond, taking time to call us beforehand and truly get to know our story, how we met, and what makes our relationship special. That personal touch meant so much to us.
On the day of the ceremony, he brought everything together beautifully. He incorporated all the meaningful details we shared into a heartfelt and memorable ceremony that felt completely “us”. Beyond that, he connected so naturally with our families, making everyone feel comfortable and included.
His personality is warm, genuine, and engaging, which made the entire experience even more special. We are incredibly grateful for the role he played in our day and would highly recommend him to any couple looking for a thoughtful and personable officiant.Pastor Matthew Samler's reply:

Pastor Matt officiated our micro-wedding on March 28, 2026, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better person to lead our ceremony. From the very beginning, he was incredibly quick to respond and made the whole process feel easy and comfortable.
He scheduled a phone call with my husband and me to get to know us a bit, and we immediately picked up great vibes from him. He created such a welcoming environment that it was easy to open up and share our story. It felt like he genuinely cared about making our ceremony personal and meaningful.
On the day of the wedding, Pastor Matt arrived early and briefly went over the space and our plans with us, which helped everything feel calm and organized. He also helped us choose a beautiful verse to incorporate into the ceremony. When we originally spoke on the phone, we hadn’t decided on doing a unity ceremony yet. The day of the wedding we mentioned it to him, and he was able to seamlessly incorporate it into the ceremony as if it had been planned all along.
We cannot recommend Pastor Matt enough. He helped make such an important day even more meaningful for us, and we are so grateful he was part of it. If you're on the fence about an officiant, choose Pastor Matt!Pastor Matthew Samler's reply:

He’s the best!
Pastor Matthew was fantastic. He was so easy to get to know and really took time to get to know us as well. He performed our marriage ceremony and it was so great. I even had guests after the wedding tell me how great of a job they thought he did and how the ceremony just flowed so nicely. Matthew did a phenomenal job at our wedding being our officiant. Everyone told us that he made our ceremony just that much more meaningful and special. The Perfect Pastor!
We are so grateful we hired this Pastor!!! We hardly ever take the time to write reviews, but we absolutely HAVE TO for Pastor Samler. From our first phone call, he carefully listened to what was important to us and ensured our ceremony was perfect. Pastor Samler went above and beyond in every way. His genuine warmth, kindness, humor, and joy, was felt by everyone in attendance. Pastor Samler checked in with everyone involved in the ceremony - including elderly relatives, a 3 year old ring bearer, and the bride and groom haha! - to make sure they were all comfortable with their part. Even our professional photographer, who has been doing weddings for years, went out of his way to tell us how phenomenal Pastor Samler was - lol! - and how it seemed like he knew us for years. While we never plan on getting married again - haha! - we would hire Pastor Samler again in a heartbeat. This is a man who really cares about creating a beautiful, meaningful, and memorable wedding ceremony. As a bonus, his rate was great too!Pastor Matthew Samler's reply:

Going to Elope in a different state and not knowing anyone can be a ruff situation, Not in this case. Pastor Matthew was such a down to earth person and most importantly came prepared with the Word of God. He arrived before us, scared off bears, guided us, and lead a beautiful ceremony we will remember forever. The best officiant we could ask for!
Pastor Matthew Samler did an amazing job for our small wedding. Not only was he able to get there earlier then we needed as it began to rain but he had a great attitude and personality the whole time. He was well prepared and ready to go the minute he got there. His script was filled with strong loving words , he allowed us to see it weeks prior but even then hearing it come from him you can tell he loves his work and does his best to represent that in his words. He went above and beyond by including a few lines for us in spanish for our non English speaking guest which a lot of officiants weren't willing to do but it meant so much to us to include them (sounded fluent to!). We would recommend Pastor Matthew to anyone getting married as he truly made our ceremony special!

Amazing Ceremony
We had Pastor Matt for our small wedding ceremony that just included our children and grandchildren. He was called to fill in due to sickness in the family of our booked Pastor and he was amazing. He could not do the ceremony at the time we had booked but gave us times he was available as he wanted to help us out knowing we were in a bind somewhat. We agreed on a time and he called and asked us questions and talked about how he would do the ceremony and when we were done talking we knew this was going to be special. He came to our cabin to do the wedding and met our children and talked to each one and remembered their names. We had the wedding on the 3rd deck of the cabin with the mountain background. He so enjoyed preforming the ceremony and added some humor along with making sure we understood what our vows truly meant by having us look into each others eyes and having us hold hands through the ceremony. He wasn't just going through the motions. He made a connection with all of us and it made an amazing day for all our family. Pastor Samler was perfect. There was trepidation regarding having a stranger perform the ceremony but once we found him, I felt at ease. Our wedding was in an area neither of us were from but God led us to Matthew! He was caring of our desires and spent time getting to know us and then he didn’t feel like a stranger.
