My husband and I had a very small Friday afternoon wedding at the courthouse and Amy did a fantastic job. We had a short engagement (engaged in December 2023 and married in April 2024!) but Amy was fine with the short notice and we even managed to fit an engagement session in 1 month before the wedding.
Amy was a pleasure to work with and was super prepared! She put on my husband’s boutonnière, helped my sister pin me into my dress, and had all the emergency essentials in her bag. She made everyone feel comfortable and taking our wedding pictures was so much fun!
The pictures themselves are amazing, we couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. I would highly recommend Paperbird Photography to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. -

Where do I even begin with Amy?!
From day one, she just got us. In our search for wedding photographers in the area, it was really important to Aron and me that we chose someone who genuinely values and embraces LGBTQ+ relationships … not just someone who says they do, but someone who truly means it. Amy absolutely lived up to that. We felt celebrated, respected, and completely at ease from our very first conversation.
Then we gave her what can only be described as an extremely detailed, slightly unhinged vision board, and instead of being scared off, she fully leaned in. She understood the assignment in a way that made us feel so seen.
On the wedding day, she wasn’t just our photographer … she felt like part of the crew. She bonded with our family and friends instantly, made everyone feel comfortable, and somehow managed to be everywhere at once without ever feeling intrusive. She made us feel relaxed, loved, and fully present in the moment. Multiple family members told us afterward, “Your photographer was AMAZING,” which says a lot because our families do not hand out compliments lightly.
And the photos?! Aron and I were completely blown away. She captured the big emotional moments and the tiny in-between ones we didn’t even realize were happening. Looking through them feels like stepping back into the best day of our lives. We’ll cherish these forever.
If you want someone who listens, cares deeply, celebrates love in all its forms, brings calm energy, and executes your very specific (possibly chaotic) vision flawlessly — Amy is your person. We are so, so grateful and cannot stress how much you’ll thank yourself for hiring Amy to take your photos. -

Captures the Magic of the George Peabody Library Perfectly
We found Amy after falling in love with her photos of George Peabody Library weddings — she captured both the incredible architecture and the warmth of the celebrations so beautifully. When we started planning our own wedding, we knew we wanted that same magic, and Amy did not disappoint!
From our very first meeting, she was friendly, organized, and instantly put us at ease. During our engagement shoot in Georgetown, she even climbed a cliff to get the perfect shot! We’re not naturally camera people, but Amy helped us relax — before long, we forgot she was there and just enjoyed ourselves, and it truly shows in the photos.
On our wedding day, Amy and her team arrived early and worked seamlessly with all our vendors. She was somehow everywhere at once, capturing every candid glance and joyful reaction, while managing our (very large!) family portraits quickly and gracefully.
Our photos are absolutely stunning — full of light, emotion, and genuine moments. They’re so beautiful that we honestly feel like they belong on the cover of a magazine. We can’t recommend Amy enough, especially for couples getting married at the George Peabody Library. She knows how to bring out the beauty of both the place and the people in it. We can’t wait for Amy to capture more of our milestones in the future! -

Amy was so key to making our day special and capturing so many incredible moments in beautiful photos. We had a great time working with her and would recommend her to any other couples. Her second shooter, Lindsay, was also amazing. Amy and Lindsay did so much to make the day run smoothly. They were familiar with the venue and suggested a bunch of shooting locations that looked incredible. They also went above and beyond with helping us keep all the photos on track, decide what kinds of shots we wanted to get, and generally help things move smoothly from the photo side of everything. We’re so happy with how the photos came out, and small touches like grabbing us from the reception to shoot a few after-dark photos under the neon signs really made the photos special. Amy was everything! I can't explain how happy we were with the decision to work with Paperbird. It was worth every penny. The photos are STUNNING. I will treasure them and display them forever.
When searching for our wedding photographer I was drawn to Amy's portfolio because it looked so warm and cozy. Turns out that's a direct reflection of Amy herself...warm, inviting and puts you at ease. Traits that make her specially suited for capturing important memories with expertise!
Amy's second photographer, Lauren, was a hoot! She had my family and friends laughing and feeling comfortable. She helped Amy keep us on the schedule and shot list.

Amy was a true dream to work with. She really got to know us as a couple. Our package came with an engagement shoot, which was such a great opportunity to get to know her as well as have a “practice” of my husband and I getting professional photos done together. On our actual wedding day, her and her assistant photographer were so professional. We just got our sneak peeks back and they are stunning. Amy is AMAZING! She photographed our September wedding and totally knocked it out of the park. My husband and I could not be more pleased.
First and foremost, she is a master of her art. Amy is an extremely talented photographer, and that alone is enough of a reason to hire her--but it doesn't stop there! On the day of the wedding, she made us feel so comfortable and at ease. She brought a second photographer to assist who had a similar chill vibe. I would describe myself as someone who often feels awkward taking photos, but not so with Amy.
Amy also totally understood our vibe and her photography captured it amazingly. As a bride, you don't always get a full moment to take it all in--the decor, the location, etc. Amy did such an amazing job capturing our little moment in time, I can now return to it whenever I want. -

Where to start with summarizing how great it was to work with Amy for our June 2024 wedding! From our first call, Amy was warm, responsive, and easy to talk to about our approach and vision for the wedding, along with providing some great ideas for photos. Getting to know her during our engagement session was a great way to feel comfortable before the big day and she was also amazing with our two pups - who joined us for both engagement and wedding photos.
We appreciated Amy's ability to find beautiful shots that captured the essence of our wedding and her personality is warm, friendly and professional. She got along so great with all our friends and family and captured beautiful images of our wedding. So Grateful!!
I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about Amy. Starting with our engagement shoot, Amy traveled to three (!) different locations with us to capture some of our favorite places in our hometown. She also encouraged us to bring our high-energy (and somewhat difficult) dog, and now we have absolutely lovely pictures of our little family :) Amy also helped us to put together our wedding day timeline, and was EXTREMELY patient with us as we were adding/changing details last-minute. I frequently felt overwhelmed during our wedding planning and would often drag my feet on making decisions, but Amy was so kind, supportive, and helpful throughout the entire process. On our actual wedding day, Amy helped to guide us through all the events while seamlessly capturing moments both big and small. She was our biggest cheerleader and reminded us to take in and appreciate all the love and happiness of the day. The photos we have from both our engagement shoot and wedding day are some of my most cherished possessions, as they perfectly capture our joy and love for each other and our loved ones. Amy has such a unique talent for capturing such real, intimate moments that I feel instantly emotional looking at the photos. Not to mention her ability to identify the best backdrops/lighting/poses! Amy is simply the best. A photographer’s work speaks for itself and just our preview of photos has left us speechless. The price point for the quality of work from this artist is absolutely crazy to me! As the advice goes, don’t cheap out on a wedding photographer but Amy also didn’t break our budget while providing the most stunning photos. I would add to this photography advice and say pick a photographer you personally like and vibe with because they spend your entire wedding day with you and spending my day with Amy was the absolute best. She is so kind, professional, patient and fun and both my husband and I truly saw her as a friend. I was so beyond anxious on my wedding day and her calm demeanor kept my mind at ease and surprisingly relaxed during photographs. On top of that, I have always considered myself as a “not photogenic person” but somehow in these preview photos I am??? I am amazed and it just speaks to her talent. Amy stayed with us well past her time with us to ensure she captured the perfect shots and it meant the world to us. She is always welcome to hangout with our friends and I do consider her a friend and will forever use her for our future photography needs. -

Amy is a wonderful and talented photographer who will make you feel at ease on your wedding day. We first had our engagement session with her, and I simply loved her energy and knew it would be perfect to counteract the stressors that come along with getting married! My husband and I had never taken professional photos before, but she told us exactly how to stand and look, all while making the motions feel natural. It was nice to not have to think!
The day of our wedding, she arrived early to make sure she was capturing all of the special details. Not only is she a photographer, but she helps to guide you through the day with the detailed schedule that she crafts for you. Even when we were running behind, she made it feel like we were in no rush. She took her time to make sure that everyone was positioned that way she wanted them to be. She comes prepared with little things you might forget (like Shout wipes!) and even got me a drink from the bar after our ceremony to make sure I was taken care of!
Our photos turned out absolutely timeless, and we are so thankful that we had her to capture our day. We had about 135 people at our wedding, and she was able to encapsulate the vibe and love of wedding all by herself. We are forever grateful! -

Amy is amazing!!
I am so glad we hired Amy to photograph our wedding! The photos are gorgeous, but she goes way beyond just photography. We worked with Amy on a wedding timeline that she developed for us based on her detailed questionnaire. She was super responsive to all questions leading up to the day, including consulting with me on some color decisions for the flowers and my husband's tie. On the wedding day, she was a calming presence. She kept us on schedule without making us feel at all rushed or stressed. When I was getting a little overwhelmed, she kindly suggested we step inside in a way that made me feel very cared for. Amy is such a sweet and fun person. 10 out of 10 stars! -

Additionally, Amy went above and beyond as a photographer - she helped with tiny coordinator-level details day-of, was able to fix my bustle, and was able to be patient and flexible as last minute things happened during the wedding day. Amy is the best!
We are so happy that we chose Amy to shoot our wedding. She was so fun and ready for an adventure when shooting our engagement photos and really made us feel comfortable in front of the camera. On the day of our wedding, she had such great pose ideas and captured so many incredible moments. She also got all of our photos back to us SOOOOO fast. Simply the best!
We hired Paperbird Photography for wedding photography services for our wedding held at the Mt. Washington Mill Dye House in April and I cannot recommend Amy more! I don’t know if there is a kinder or more calming photographer anywhere in the Baltimore-D.C. region; Amy is simply the best. She instantly puts people at ease and makes everyone look their best; the photos she captured are incredible – sweet, warm, fun, and classic. Amy is super organized and coordinated a lot with our planner in the weeks leading up to the wedding, which took a huge weight off my shoulders. She did such a great job capturing our wedding in a way that feels so true to life; it’s going to be hard narrowing down my favorite photos to frame! The end result speaks for itself…I highly recommend hiring Paperbird Photography for your wedding! Thank you times a million, Amy! -

I’m not sure Amy knew what she was getting into agreeing to capture our day.. But she took it and ran with it.
She captured just enough “Brunswick” and a little bit of Pennsylvania twang; in the classiest most beautiful ways imaginable. Amy did so good at capturing everyone organically but also “sweetly” idk how else to put it. Genuinely, seeing myself in so many beautiful pictures was a great confidence boost. BOOK HER. -

Absolutely loved working with Amy and will definitely hire her again for future photography needs! She has the perfect balance of professionalism and fun, and her photos/composition are gorgeous. We immediately liked Amy when we met with her over video for our initial wedding consultation. When we met in person for our engagement photo session, we felt at ease and had a blast. It felt like we had known Amy for years! She's gifted at guiding her subjects while she's photographing them. Amy is so kind and truly cares about her clients. Communication is easy and prompt, and she provides support and guidance as needed, particularly with the wedding day-of-timeline. Amy is a beautifully talented and incredibly kind person that was an absolute delight to work with.
My now-husband and I hired Amy in the early stages of planning our wedding and, hands down, hiring Amy was one of the best decisions that we made - which says a lot because our entire wedding team was phenomenal.
From that initial planning call, I felt a great connection with Amy and knew that she was exactly what we wanted in a wedding photographer - wildly talented, personable, super detailed, and a delight to work with.
From our engagement pictures to our wedding day photography, Amy captured us and the details of our wedding perfectly. Amy is an excellent communicator, very detailed, and was able to wrangle our slightly unruly wedding party on the day of - she was so much more than a photographer for us. Despite being a Type-A bride and very detailed, there were things that I missed on the day of and Amy was quick to come to the rescue.
You can not go wrong with deciding to hiring Amy - you will have a phenomenal experience working with her. Next to marrying my now-husband, hiring Amy was the best decision that we made in the wedding planning process.

You will not regret booking Paperbird photography for your wedding (or really for anything involving photos). We have been FLOORED by every single photo delivered. Amy is so extremely kind, calm and upbeat- energy that is so nice to have around you on a potentially stressful day. My husband and I are so awkward in photos and not only is she so gifted at choosing locations and lighting and framing the photo perfectly, she knows how to coach subjects on what to do with their bodies to make the photo look so beautifully natural. We just got our full wedding package back (and so fast!) and beyond the most beautiful portraits, there were small pockets of emotion that Paperbird was able to capture that were so special to relive. 5 stars just isn't enough to express how happy we are that Paperbird was a part of our day. Amazing wedding photographer!
My husband and I are so glad we chose Paperbird to photograph our wedding. The first thing Amy did with us was get to know us a little and help us to get comfortable with the camera at an engagement session that came with our package. (The results were lovely and the experience was fun!) Before the wedding, we coordinated with Amy so that she knew who and what we wanted photos of, and when the day arrived, she exceeded our expectations as a total pro. She knew exactly what she was doing, capturing the getting-ready stages naturally and making the formal photos easy and fun. The best part was that she gave us a sneak peak of our photos on Instagram just a day or two after the wedding! The photos turned out incredibly well -- just the right balance of classic and artistic, capturing our colors and the feel of our wedding amazingly well. We are so grateful to Amy for the work she did to commemorate our special day. -

Amy is everything you’d want in a wedding photographer. In our initial reach out, she was quick to respond and made us feel comfortable on the very first call. She took our engagement photos, and absolutely saw what we were going for and made it happen (not to mention she was just a fun person to spend an afternoon with in general).
She really went above and beyond. She did a venue visit with me and my coordinator to get a lay of the land and make sure we had a game plan. Then—when it rained and ruined that plan—she adapted so quickly it was like nothing changed. Not even to mention, she drove me from the hotel where we got ready to the venue so that I wouldn’t get rained on.
Last but not least, we received our photos on time and they were absolutely lovely. She edits them herself so she can make sure they turn out how she envisioned. Definitely recommend her to anyone. -

My husband and I cannot recommend Amy highly enough. After coming across her beautiful image gallery on WeddingWire, we were thrilled that she was available to shoot our wedding in October 2021. Our package included an engagement shoot and we knew we made the right decision upon meeting Amy at Rock Creek Park for our shoot. Though we had never had professional photos taken before, Amy put us right at ease being 'models' and created the most magical photos. We had a hard time choosing which one to use on our wedding invitations!
Like most brides, I was a wreck in the lead up to the wedding dealing with new COVID restrictions, last-minute DIY projects, etc. As soon as Amy arrived for getting ready photos, I felt instantly calm. Amy is a true professional and guided us through a first look, family photos and a couples shoot at the Smithsonian Castle. She stayed in constant communication with our planner and gently kept us on schedule in the lead up to the ceremony. Amy consistently went above and beyond, somehow getting shots of every important moment of the wedding, bustling my dress for the first time (!!), and staying far later than she needed to.

MVP of Our Wedding!
There aren’t enough words in the English dictionary to convey how grateful I am to have stumbled upon Amy at Paperbird Photography. The pandemic certainly threw my husband and I many curveballs - we went from booking a venue in Alexandria for 180 people to planning a micro wedding for 30 people in Ocean City, MD to getting pregnant (surprise!) and then finally deciding on a small intimate wedding of 60 people…throwing something together in a very short amount of time to accommodate my growing belly. I found Amy in the midst of all of this and she was quite literally the MVP of our wedding. Not only is she kind, calm, humble, and all around lovely to work with but she is SO so so talented and amazing at what she does. She was extremely accommodating with our schedule, made sure that baby and I were okay throughout the entire process and day. She even carried my TUMS around for me! What can I say? Everything about Paperbird Photography was lovely. The quality of photography is unparalleled. If you're looking for high value shots of your big event, big day, and all the activities that go into it, look no further! Beyond the photos themselves, Amy is such an incredibly sweet and lovely person to work with. My husband and I spent some time looking for the right photography vendor and considered the selection one of the most important ones we could make for our wedding (since the photos withstand the test of time). We loved everything about Paperbird (their portfolio, website, credentials, creative approach, attention to romantic details, etc.) and after having a preliminary call, we were fully sold and decided to book. Amy took care of our engagement shoot, courthouse wedding day (thanks COVID!) and then our rescheduled wedding ceremony and reception. We worked with Amy over the course of two years as those events played out and in every instance, she was professional, kind, and incredibly easy to work with. As you can imagine on the "big day" there was a lot of coordination and corralling of people, which Amy and her shooting partner handled gracefully and with ease. We also received the photos quickly which was great. Paperbird (Amy) is seriously amazing! She was so quick to respond and was very flexible with us. She has great artistic vision and wonderful ideas. I have loved looking at wedding photography ever since I was young and always dreamed of what my wedding photos would look like one day. Amy exceeded all my expectations! We had a very small (low budget) wedding at the courtyard of my apartment and the way she took the photos you would have thought we spent thousands of dollars on our wedding. Look no further, everyone! Amy and Caroline were absolutely fantastic. I specifically picked them based on a photo they did of another wedding at our venue, and I knew they were exactly what I was looking for. I am not an engagement shoot kind of person, so instead we met for a drink near our venue and hashed out what we wanted. On the day of, they coached us through everything and didn't miss a shot. The only caveat I have is that their editing timeline is long -- 40 to 60 business days. This didn't bother me, however, and it was worth it to have an online, USB and some print-outs in the sweet little keepsake box they provide. -

I wish I could give Paperbird 500 stars! From the time we first reached out to them to when we received our lovely wooden box of final images, Paperbird was extremely responsive, professional, and organized. Amy and Caroline are extremely talented and their attention to detail is so telling in all of our photographs. We loved having an engagement session included, which let us get to know them and see their talent before our wedding. For our big day, they had a very detailed questionnaire which led to a timeline which they executed seamlessly. I am in awe of how wonderful our photos turned out. Amazing Duo
As wedding photographers ourselves, choosing photographers for our own wedding was a very important decision. But choosing Paperbird was a no-brainer. Caroline and Amy work so fluidly together like they were destined to do this their entire lives! Amy and Caroline are two people who complement each other perfectly and work so well together. So thankful they photographed our engagement session, where they picked the most perfect location and demonstrated their style of photography to us. Laura Sent on 01/16/2018My situation: my husband and I had decided to elope in a civil ceremony. Although we're planning a more extensive ceremony in my hometown later, we still wanted to capture the day professionally. Relatedly, my brother has severe autism, and would be attending the ceremony (of course). I wanted photographers who were accommodating, could roll with the punches, and were non-judgmental about my brother's behaviors.
I met Amy & Caroline for the first time in the civil ceremony room at the Moultrie Courthouse. We had corresponded before and I felt very comfortable with them. Professional, five-star women who had ideas about mise-en-scene and getting some really nice snaps. I enjoyed that they obviously work off each other and could use different camera settings and lenses fluently because each had a different camera they were operating.
The photos were delivered in a timely fashion. Amy & Caroline know their business and are lovely. Wonderful overall experience. -
