AMAZING!!!! Thank you SO much!!

Pamela was absolutely fabulous. From the very beginning stages she was super responsive and after having a phone consultation with her I felt super comfortable and confident that she was the photographer I needed for my wedding. Leading up to the wedding we went to scout some areas for photos and she was so professional, knowledgeable, and confident. The day of my wedding went so smooth and stress free. Every single person I have spoken to after the wedding could not stop complimenting how great Pamela was and everyone had such positive things to say about her. We just received our photos and are SO in love!! They are so stunning and beautiful!!! I highly recommend Pamela for your special day or any special moments you want captured!!

Blessed to have Pamela on our wedding day

We hired Pamela to be our wedding photographer after seeing the amazing work she did for our friend’s wedding a year ago. My husband and I are beyond satisfied by how beautiful our pictures turned out. I was feeling a bit nervous before the wedding, and Pamela really helped me relax during our first look photo session. Our first look was filled with so much laughter, love and pure joy.

Pamela truly went above and beyond what we hired her for. She assisted our groomsmen with putting their boutonnieres on the correct side, and was very accommodating with any last minute timeline adjustments. We got our perfect wedding pictures back exactly 20 days after our wedding. This is extremely efficient, and I am truly amazed by her professionalism.

My husband and I hope to work with Pamela for our maternity and family pictures in the future. I am sharing a picture from our wedding to show how gorgeous our pictures turned out.

Gorgeous Photos, Amazing Photographer!

Pamela was wonderful to work with! She is extremely professional and did a great job planning out the timeline for our day ahead of time as well as scouting the location with us the week before to make sure we got all the shots we wanted. On the day of she did an amazing job corralling us and family in an efficient yet friendly way. The photos she got were absolutely gorgeous and she got them back to us just two and a half weeks after the wedding!! We would absolutely recommend her!

We booked Pamela for our wedding. She was amazing to work with during the pandemic.
Pamela did our engagement and wedding.
My husband hates pictures but Pamela made him so comfortable that he was happy to take all the photos.
Her entire team was amazing! The week before the wedding we met at my venue and walked the area to see where we would take pictures. It was great to be there the weeks before so we could see what was blooming outside and get a good sense of the hotel that time of year.
My photos were GORGEOUS!!!!! Pamela and her team captured every moment. She has multiple different packages and will do you albums.

Pamela is the best!

My now-husband and I knew that pictures were going to be a big part of our wedding so we took our time finding our photographer. We were immediately impressed by Pamela upon our first phone call with her. Not only is her work fantastic, but she genuinely an awesome person. My husband and I are not exactly natural in photographs, but Pamela’s direction made us feel comfortable and confident. She provides such clear direction that you don’t even need to think, you just get to enjoy the time with your significant other. Pamela shot our engagement photos and we were thrilled with the result. When we had to reschedule our reception we knew we couldn’t have our wedding without her. Pamela was extremely understanding and accommodating as we rescheduled. We decided to have a small family ceremony on our original wedding date and we were so happy that Pamela was able to photograph for us. She even scouted the venue a week in advance to check out locations and see what the light would look like. The level of dedication Pamela puts into her work is evident in the results. We are SO happy with the pictures from our family ceremony and we can’t wait to work with Pamela again at our reception next year!

Best photographer ever!

We are go glad we chose Pamela for our special day. She did such an amazing job capturing our micro-wedding (around 15 guests). The photos are gorgeous and we will cherish them forever. We talked to several other photographers before choosing Pamela, but decided to go with her because of her warm and helpful personality. She had some great ideas such as doing a first look, and even took the time to scout out the venue a couple days before to find some beautiful spots for portraits. We were so impressed with her professionalism, and when we got the photos back two weeks later, the results speak for themselves, they are absolutely gorgeous! Pamela exceeded our highest expectations, we highly recommend her and look forward to working with her again in the future.

Beautiful Photography

Our wedding photos are beautiful thanks to Pamela's expertise as a photographer! She has a skilled eye for fabulous settings and took the time to scout out our wedding site before the day to identify perfect spots for photos. She was also open to particular photo ideas that we had, and she did an outstanding (and very efficient!) job of capturing everything that we hoped would be captured. We have so many gorgeous shots - it will be hard to decide what to print! She's a true professional and a genuinely nice person - we couldn't be happier with our choice!

Absolutely amazing!

Mother of the Bride: After a big occasion, like a wedding, pictures are all there is to remember the day. Thank goodness I hired Pamela to capture all the moments at my daughter's wedding. Not only are the pictures beautiful, but both Pamela and the second photographer were almost invisible at the wedding. As an added bonus, she is a joy to work with!

Best pictures I’ve ever had!

From the get-go, I knew we were in the hands of a calm and competent pro. I had been going back and forth with another photographer, feeling a bit of pressure to book someone in case all the photographers I liked got booked up, but something just wasn’t feeling right. I found Pamela’s info and immediately felt like she would be a much better fit for the kind of photos we’d ultimately want. I was right—they turned out great! Leading up to the wedding, she asked helpful questions that honed us in on the specific images we wanted to capture, and also gave great tips (like, if you’re doing photos prior to the ceremony, make sure your flowers arrive in time to be included in the photos. Which in retrospect is a “duh” point, but wasn’t something I’d even thought about!) The day-of, she was calm and efficient, getting family members in line so we could get family portraits done and go enjoy the party. We got our final photos just after our honeymoon—less than 2 weeks from our event. Book Pamela if you want a stress-free photo shoot, with lovely photos to boot!

Amazing pictures and even more amazing to work with!!!

From the get-go Pamela was awesome to work with. Pamela was always super responsive and not only helped with the scheduling and making sure we got all the special pictures that we wanted, she was super personable and always made me feel beautiful and comfortable. She understood my need for a photographer who could give stern, kind, direction - as we all know corralling people for pictures and actually getting good ones can be difficult - and she did just that. We were working with dogs and young children, which was an extra challenge, and the pictures she was able to get of everyone are absolutely incredible. Wouldn't have been the same without her

Pamela is a true wedding professional! We can not say enough about how she helped manage our wedding day timeline to get in all of the complex photos we were looking for, and still managed to capture excellent photos of our entire evening. From the moment we met with her, we could tell she really had great experience, knowledge, and passion. She had shot at our venue numerous times, but still wanted to make sure she went out to do a site visit to see what areas we wanted photos from. Before our wedding she was very accessible and helped us determine the days flow. At the wedding she took charge to make sure we got in all of the photos we wanted and still had time to be with our guests. She blended in to allow us to be ourselves and gave excellent feedback during the photos to make us feel comfortable. We cannot recommend her enough, we fell in love with her shooting style from her website, and she delivered!

Wonderful, Seamless Partner in Making Our Wedding Perfect

Although we had a couple of calls before the wedding, we didn't meet unit the actual day. Pamela came in confidently, made us feel at home and made the painful chore of having so many photos taken a fun experience. She has such a great sense of humor and easily corralled the various family members and guests for photos. Pamela was very attentive to jackets that needed to be buttoned or hands pulled out of pockets to avoid awkward looking photos. She very quickly had the photos ready for us after the wedding so we hadn't long to wait. I love the candid shots of seeing our guests laughing and chatting and having such a great time. I felt the happiness we felt with the day was was well captured. Can't recommend her enough. Absolutely no hesitation to work with her again in future! Thank you, Pamela!

Wonderful person and professional!

From the engagement shoot to the wedding, and all the conversations in between, working with Pamela was the best. Pamela is a wonderful person and professional. Her warm personality and enthusiasm made her an absolute pleasure to be around. She made it easy for us to relax and be ourselves with her, and everyone from our wedding party who interacted with her thought she was great. She directed us when we needed, but made the process really fun and natural. More than that, she was the perfect professional: she went to our venue in the week before the wedding to scout out the best places, and really took the time to speak with us to understand what we were looking for, which was especially important to us because we were planning our wedding from abroad. As a result, we really felt like she got the best possible pictures of the space--she even found places we had never seen! Plus, we were surprised at how quickly she was able to get everything done: she sent us all of our wedding pictures two weeks after the wedding. The pictures are all wonderful, and we could not be happier.

A wonderful experience with a wonderful photographer!

I really cannot say enough good things about Pamela. She was more expensive than some other photographers we looked at, but I can positively say that she was 100% worth every penny (and then some!). From the very beginning, working with her was a dream -- she was always super responsive, incredibly helpful in planning the timeline of our day, and a calming presence from start to finish. My priorities for our wedding day were great photos and a great party, and I could not be happier with the way everything turned out! We did our wedding portraits at the Jefferson Memorial before our ceremony during cherry blossom season, which made me nervous from a traffic/crowd perspective, but Pamela went and scouted the area a few weeks ahead of time to make sure to find some locations that would not be completely overrun by tourists. On the actual day, traffic was pretty bad, but she was great at communicating with our bus driver about where we needed to go and when we needed to be picked up so that we would make it back to our venue in time (we ended up being early!). She was also great at maximizing our photo time while getting a ton of great shots, both during our portrait time at the Jefferson and later at the ceremony and reception. Posed and candid, formal and informal -- I feel like her photos truly capture everything about our wedding day. Looking at them a few weeks afterwards was like reliving the whole day, and I'm excited to be able to relive it again for years to come!

She's awesome!

Pamela was really great to work with before and on the day of the wedding. I found her contact information online and we set up a phone interview. I had previously had phone interviews with other photographers and was a little bummed because of how uncomfortable they had been. Pamela and I talked for about an hour and a half that first time and I knew that I really wanted her to be my photographer for my wedding because of how comfortable and easy it was to talk to her! She was very responsive and flexible throughout the planning and the day of the wedding. AND she sent our finished photographs 3 weeks after the wedding! I highly recommend her to anyone, particularly if you are at the Meadowlark Botanical Gardens. She had shot there previously so I knew I would be comfortable letting her pick the locations for our pictures. Even though she had been there before, she still went and scouted out the locations - she's extremely thorough. Highly recommend!

Truly beautiful photos!

When Dan and I got engaged, one of the first things I did was research photographers. I looked at a few photographers and I wasn't blown away by their photos. When I saw Pamela's photos, I knew we had to have her for our wedding day. Her pictures were unique and truly captured the love and happiness from each wedding she photographed. I was so happy when she told us she was available for our date. Our engagement photos were beautiful and our wedding photos are even more stunning! I have so many favorites. Captured our Big Day Perfectly

Pamela was very easy to work with. I knew from our first phone interview that she would be a fantastic add to our wedding team. She is very talented, calm, professional, and thorough. She scouted our site a couple weeks before the wedding (at no extra charge) to narrow down and confirm shot list (we got married at a winery and there was a lot of ground to cover). She kept us on schedule and was a huge help in creating the day of timeline. My engagement and wedding photos are STUNNING. My friends have all commented on the quality.

Let me get this out of the way...there's a reason I gave Pamela 5 stars across the board. If you're on the fence, hop off and HIRE HER! Our wedding was magical in every sense of the word and we can relive every moment with Pamela's photos. When we started planning our wedding, we didn't realize how out of our depth we were. Pamela so graciously offered to help develop a timeline with us so we knew exactly how our day was going to go. Add that to the amazing photos we just got, and we couldn't be happier. Side note, Pamela was able to get our very stubborn and shy niece to smile and laugh for the camera...that alone is worth 10 star ratings on a 5 star scale.

I chose Pamela because of the reviews from this website and she was honestly the BEST decision I could have EVER made!!! I didn't hire a wedding planner, but Pamela has done this for so long so she helped me with anything I needed, even outside of the photography! There were a few days that I was stressing about things and when I called her she just had a calm way about her and had the knowledge about weddings that I didn't even know mattered. My timeline went so smoothly on my wedding day and it was all because she helped mapped it out. On top of all of that.. the pictures she took were AMAZING!!!!! She sent me over 1,000 from my wedding day and every single one was perfect!! When I put some up on Facebook people were in love. Hiring Pamela was hands-down one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding. She was friendly and professional, and the photos she took were absolutely gorgeous. We researched dozens of photographers trying to find someone who took really beautiful photos for a reasonable price, and Pamela was at the top of our list. She more than surpassed expectations - giving us helpful advice during the planning process, making sure she understood what kinds of shots we wanted, and showing up early on our wedding day to make sure everything was going smoothly. Pamela exudes all the qualities you are looking for when it comes to finding someone to capture your big day; she is passionate and dedicated in her job, an amazing person to get to know, and goes above and beyond your expectations. My husband and I got married at the Ronald Reagan Building and decided to do a first look. A month prior to our wedding, Pamela went out of her way and spent the day figuring out the best places to capture our photos at the venue. That same day, she met with me and my wedding planner and walked us through her ideas for the wedding party photos. My husband and I folded 1000 cranes for our big day, and wanted to make sure that was well represented. We used the cranes as a backdrop for our family photos, and the pictures Pamela took were absolutely gorgeous. The day of the wedding, Pamela also brought her assistant, Jennifer, and were both extremely organized, professional, and excelled at sticking to the timeline. If you are looking for someone to entrust in your big day, someone who is great to work with, is very organized, and does phenomenal work, Pamela is the one for you!

If you are looking for a photographer, stop right here! From the moment we met Pamela, we knew that moment we wanted her to capture our big day. She has the most patient, sweet personality; and is beyond talented and dedicated to what she does. My husband and I met at college, and wanted our engagement photos to be taken there. When we told this to Pamela, she was up for the experience, and spent a total of 12 hours with us (some due to travel time) JUST for engagement pictures. My husband and I are slightly awkward at times, and Pamela felt like a long time friend who wasn't afraid to tell us what to do; but also captured so many raw and natural moments. Pamela had a great time laughing with us and making us feel comfortable. It is very evident how much Pamela cares about her clients, because she is in constant contact with her brides, scopes out the venue prior to the wedding day, and shares her advice. The best part is Pamela has seen all the behind the scene details, and is a true expert. Pamela went out of her way to call me to discuss my wedding day of schedule, even though she didn't have too. She wanted to ensure that we had a perfect, smooth day; which we definitely did! The day of the wedding, Pamela was a phenomenal organizer for other vendors, and our bridal party. She was not afraid to tell us if something looked off, and helped my mom and sister tie up my wedding dress. I could honestly spend all day raving about Pamela, but from all her other reviews, it is so clear that she is the best in this area. You will honestly not be disappointed, because you will be gaining another friend in this wonderful process!

As a planner, I enjoy working with vendors that are punctual, professional, and talented. Pamela is all these things and more. She and her assistant Jenifer did an amazing job taking photos of my bride and groom. They were efficient with their time and exceeded all of my expectations. We couldn't be happier with Pamela as our photographer for our 2 day wedding. We found her through our wedding planner (Alison Golt from Cherry Blossom Events) and immediately at our first meeting I knew she would be perfect. I was impressed by the sample photos in her studio but I was even more impressed with her warm and calm demeanor. I was nervous that she may not be able to deal with our somewhat high-maintainence camera-happy family members but she was a complete professional the entire time. She even took pictures on my guest's phones for them and offered them advice on where they should take pictures from! I was amazed. The pictures she took for my wedding were exactly what I wanted, she even had examples of shots I liked from Pinterest with her during our wedding photoshoot. It was a wonderful attention to detail. She was very communicative the entire wedding and made sure we were happy before she left late in the evening. I would highly recommend Pamela to anyone looking for an experienced, talented photographer who is willing to go the extra mile to make her clients happy. I couldn't have asked for anyone better and I can't wait to have her shoot photos for me again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Pamela. She was so amazing to work with. I, as the bride, met with Pamela to scope locations for our "first look." She spent well over an hour with me to talk through details as well as driving me to the park she recommended for the "first look." Throughout the months leading up to the wedding she was highly communicative, and was diligent in making sure we got the shots we wanted. On the day of the wedding, she called to tell me she was super sick - but had arranged for two highly recommended photographers to meet us at the park. So, when we arrived, I was ready to meet the new photographers - but she rallied (in spite of a nasty bug). So instead of one photographers for our special day - we had three photographers. The shots from the park were amazing - well-edited, well posed, and really captured the essence of who we are as a couple. The shots from the ceremony and reception were all spectacular. We have photo evidence of every single guest and we had 100+ guests at our wedding. Pamela is an amazing professional and has an excellent eye for light. We loved working with her, and you will, too.

Look no further, Pamela is the BEST photographer out there! We could not have been happier with our experience and hope that we'll have future events to celebrate so we can work with Pamela again.
We were married on New Years Eve, which can be a night that is difficult to find vendors to work with. Pamela was so excited to spend New Years Eve with us, which made us even more eager to work with her. Right from day 1 at our meet and greet, we knew Pamela was the right person to work with. Her personality is so calming, she really took the time to understand what was a priority to us, and asked all the right questions to find out our expectations for the day. Within the months leading up to our wedding we emailed back and forth making her aware of the format/timeline for the day and she always replied quickly with comments or suggestions to help us make sense of what would work best. She also suggested that we do a scouting session where she explores our venue and the area that you will be taking pictures. I didn't realize how important this was and what an impact it would have on getting the best photographs. She even thought to scout at the time we would be taking pictures on the day of to see what the lighting would be like. This was truly going above and beyond. On the day of the wedding she made sure to get every picture we requested and moved us through our photo shoot as if she had been to Warrenton 100 times before, all with a smile in the windy, cold temperatures. Most of all, we loved her attention to detail and couldn't get over her enthusiasm to get the best pictures. During our reception she would even do a quick dance to coerce someone into dancing for her so she could get an action shot. It was near impossible to choose our favorite pictures out of the 1,000+ that we received.

Pamela, thank you for providing us with photos that we will truly cherish and enjoy looking at year after year!

From the moment I talked with Pamela on the phone I could tell she was amazing. I had no clue what I wanted, but I knew I was getting married in 3 months. She actually helped us choose our venue in the town we wanted to get married in. She also suggested a few restaurants that would host our reception dinner. She had already photographed numerous weddings in our location, so I was able to see and imagine what our wedding photos would look like. Her communication was always quick and I could tell she was really invested in making sure we had the best day. She asked for poses and colors and outfit pictures-things that let me know she was paying attention. When the day of my wedding came, it was pretty nerve wracking actually due to unexpected traffic issues. However, Pamela being as amazing as she is made me feel so comfortable and immediately started snapping pictures. Things were delayed but you CAN'T tell any of that happened by looking at our pictures. We had our wedding photos back in less than a week and there were about 260 of them!!! Amazing pictures from all different kinds of angles. Keep in mind we only booked her for the minimum of 2 hours. You would think by looking at some of our pictures that we had a large wedding, but it was actually an intimate ceremony with just close friends and family. The attention to detail she has is incomparable. She really is the best. We have pictures with so many backdrops, I'm just so pleased! If you are looking for a great photographer in Northern Virginia, PLEASE consider Pamela. She is truly one of a kind and very professional but welcoming. I'm so glad we went with her. If we have children in the future I would DEFINITELY use her again. She's just amazing!!! Our ENTIRE wedding party was in total awe of her and her work. Everyone kept saying how wonderful our photographer was! Wedding vendors are typically just behind the scenes, and Pamela was but she is one of everyone's favorite memories of our day! :)

When booking my wedding photographer, I talked to a few different photographers and within the first two minutes of talking to Pamela, I knew she was the one. She took the time to ask what I wanted and really wanted to know what I wanted to get from my photos. She asked about my details and what style I wanted. She was extremely sweet and from that phone conversation alone I could tell she had a true passion for wedding photography. Pamela wasn't just my wedding photographer, she was a friend.

I booked her about a year in advance and she checked in periodically throughout that year. We had several interactions leading up to the day (phone, email, in person) where she spent time helping me plan the ends and odds of my wedding, she even helped me come up with my wedding timeline. She also visited my venue to brainstorm ideas before the big day and even sent me an itinerary. She really thinks of everything!

On my wedding day, Pamela & her assistant Sergey (I hope the spelling is right) were phenomenal. They got a ton of great pictures and came up with a lot of amazing ideas for photos. They both are extremely detail oriented. They made sure my train was perfect at all times, that Matt's tie was straight, you name it, they saw it. At the end of the night, they even offered to stay later to get additional photos. I am extremely grateful for those two.

I then received my wedding photos within 2 weeks, not just your standard preview or sneak peak but ALL of them and on top of that they look AMAZING.

Thank you Pamela! I can't wait to get another excuse to use you in the future!

I could not be happier with my wedding photos!! Pamela went above and beyond; making sure I got all the shots I wanted (with my extremely large family AND wedding party)! Her patience, professionalism, and beautiful work, go unmatched. My husband and I are truly over the moon with the amazing pictures we have. If you're going to cut corners with cost, never do it with your photographer! Pamela was without a doubt the perfect wedding photographer choice. I already knew I loved her when she made my cousins rainy day wedding photos look phenomenal and she did not disappoint for my day either. She was very easy to work with and is clearly very knowledgeable about photography. She met with me at the venue a few weeks prior and had already chosen numerous spots she liked, depending on weather. Then we met to discuss my vision for the day in more detail. On the wedding day she even went before her scheduled time to scope things out and take a few photos, then she came to my getting ready spot. I could go on and on about how great Pamela was to work with! Pamela was the photographer for our daughter's wedding in October 2016. We interviewed a number of different people, but Pamela's passion for her work and her quiet confidence won us over. She was the perfect person to coax the best pictures from a couple who were initially very uncomfortable being in the spotlight, and the pictures she took were truly intimate and natural and beautiful. Her appreciation of different textures and lighting and outdoor venues was amazing, and brought a richness to our photos that was outstanding. She charmed everyone in the wedding and brought a calmness to what could have been a frenetic day (moving the ceremony indoors, dealing with wind and cold, and a very rambunctious crowd). She was also so helpful with recommending other vendors, working closely with the ones we chose, and even pitching in to fix the bustle on my daughter's gown! The photo album she made for my daughter is a treasure and a professional work of art. Pamela was receptive to my daughter's wishes, consistently responsive and supportive of all our needs, and one of the most informative, approachable, and dedicated people I have ever worked with. Like many other professional services, in this area there are MANY to choose from. As I was preparing for my wedding some of the best advice that I received was not to skimp on my wedding pictures because when the day is said and done that is basically ALL you will have to remember the day by - that and any videos and keepsakes you save. I went into it knowing that not skimping doesn't just mean spending a lot of money, to me it means taking the time to research and look at a photographer's portfolio. In other words - don't skimp on the time you spend choosing your photographer. Another point is -make sure that you have good rapport with the photographer because you will be spending lots of time together that day and if you understand his/her commands and have a connection it will make a huge difference in the pictures.
Having said all that - when I met Pamela Lepold at her studio, I was immediately impressed with her professionalism, and her portfolio. Then as we talked about the things that were important to me, we immediately connected and I felt at ease. That meant a LOT to me and made it very for me to choose Pamela to do not only my wedding pictures but my engagement pictures as well. Going through the day with Pamela doing the engagement pictures made our wedding day just that much easier - especially because I had seen her work and we had learned each other enough to read each other to a certain point. I loved my engagement pictures and my wedding pictures are FABULOUS...I am SOOO glad I chose Pamela! I wanted natural looking pictures in addition to the traditional poses and we received the perfect mix. I could go on and on for why you would not be disappointed by choosing Pamela...Any questions I had were immediately answered and we even visited both of our venues in advance to check out lighting and discuss poses...She really takes time to prepare - she doesn't just show up the day of. If you choose Pamela, you will not be disappointed!

I LOVE my wedding photos!!! Pamela managed to capture all the love, warmth, joy, and romance of a day that went by way too fast. I fell in love with Pamela’s work early in the process of shopping for a photographer for that precise reason – her ability to capture intimate moments that spoke to me. I also knew I wanted to work with a small business, where I would be guaranteed a more personalized experience, which is what I felt I received.

Pamela offered me pricing options for three and four-hour blocks, which were more in line with what my budget could bear. She was an absolute pleasure to work with, and is someone I would recommend without reservation.

I am SO happy to have found Pamela! Pamela is a talented, true wedding photography professional. Even in the most challenging situations, she creates the best possible photographs! It was raining the entire day on our wedding day and Pamela captured our wedding & pre wedding activities beautifully (even in the pouring rain), still hitting our favorite spots, and even brought a clear shower curtain along to go underneath my dress and a black umbrella for us to be photographed under! She happily accommodated our ridiculously long shot list (my husband and I both come from big families) and still fit in her creative and expertly crafted bride & groom shots. First of all, I was married on New Year's Eve 2015 so this is seriously overdue. But be that as it may, I have to stop and acknowledge Pamela for the incredible experience she provided to my wife and I. Yes, this was an experience not simply a wedding photography service. On what is arguably one of the most stressful moments of your life, Pamela steps in and gently adds love and caring to your experience. She was like another member of the bridal party, albeit one with a wicked eye for detail and capturing magical moments.

Pamela was thoughtful, insightful and fun to be around. She gently made adjustments that provided amazing photographs and that trigger the reliving of the moment ages past the actual event. She could not have been better if she wore a giant "S" on her chest and could fly.

We've already lost a family member since that happy day and we'll lose more but Pamela captured their essence and presence and we are grateful that we could rely on Pamela to save those priceless moments forever for our family.

We loved Pamela Lepold! The moment we met her we knew we were going to be in good hands. She was very warm and welcoming. It truly put us at ease to see her that all her work are beautiful. Pamela was our photographer for both engagement and wedding photos. She scoped out our shoot locations prior to the shoots to check the lighting and best angles. She helped us relax and easily coaxed genuine smiles out of us even after we'd been shooting for awhile. She was pleasant, professional, and took time to understand what photos were important to us in advance. She has amazing attention to detail and jumped in to fix a bow tie and boutonniere that weren't quite as they should be. We are thrilled with our experience with Pamela! From our first communication back in January all the way through delivery of our photos, everything has been top notch. She was very responsive to emails in the beginning and very willing to set up an in person meeting at her beautiful home studio. Prior to the wedding, I met with Pamela in Old Town Alexandria (where our wedding took place) to scout First Look locations and discuss the timeline of the big day. On our wedding day, she arrived on time and dove right into the "details" shots while hair and make up was being finished. We selected one of her standard packages (one photographer) but added on a couple extra hours of time and I'm glad we did. The "getting ready" and first look photos are a great addition to our ceremony and reception. Pamela was a great coach throughout the day. Neither of us had been professionally photographed before (we didn't do engagement pictures) so she was patient with her directions and made the most of the hour we had before and after the ceremony. During the reception, I barely noticed her as she poked in and out of the crowd on the dance floor. One guest referred to her as a "ninja"! She got some great photos without being too in people's faces. She was very observant and some of the reception candids are my favorites. Our final photos were delivered in a very timely manner and we couldn't be more happy with how everything turned out. Even her final presentation (shipping a beautifully wrapped flash drive with our photos) exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend Pamela to any newly engaged couples in the DC metro area.

So I literally talked to more than 10 photographers before selecting Pam. I was having a small civil ceremony and had no idea on where to have it, how to do it, etc. I gave all the photographers a few parameters like - I wanted it simple, I wanted my dog involved and asked for suggestions. Most gave very general suggestions like parks or towns. Pam was the only one who gave me an exact location and sent me examples of pictures she had taken there. After I went to check it out and loved the location, she went as far as to suggest the best times to take pictures there based where the park was facing (east/west) and on when the sun was setting during that time of year. Based on her suggestions, I scheduled the ceremony. Pam was GREAT to work with. Our wedding day turned out to be cold and rainy. She just threw on a raincoat and was super patient and thorough. When I wanted to quit she was there to encourage us to keep smiling! I totally recommend having Pamela do your pictures - you will not regret it!

My fiance and I had some unique and whimsical ideas for our wedding and Pamela jumped right into the fun with us. She very comfortably adapted to us as a couple, our venue, and our guests. We were so pleased to see that when the pictures came back she took meaningful photos that captured very poignantly the essence of many moments. More importantly during the entire day she made us feel comfortable which allowed our personalities to come out in the pictures.... which on your wedding day when you're super nervous and thinking about a million things cannot be underestimated!

Pamela's organization was apparent even after our phone consultation with us and she was a true professional. She dealt easily with little kids, bringing together family members who did not all speak English, and making sure we as a couple got all the shots that were most important to us.

Pamela was so fantastic to work with. I had a very small wedding and was worried about finding a photographer that was willing to take on a smaller project on a Saturday in May. From the beginning, Pamela treated my wedding as a top priority. On my wedding day, we were taking pictures while getting ready about 30 minutes before my outdoor ceremony and it became clear that it was about to downpour. Pamela quickly adapted and took wonderful photos for us on a covered terrace. Luckily we were able to move outdoors for pictures after the ceremony and she ensured that we captured every image I requested. I am NOT very comfortable having my photograph taken, and she was great with that and provided a lot of guidance. She also did a great job capturing candids that I didn't think we would have time or a budget for. My entire family (all of our 15 guests!) enjoyed working with her and everyone had wonderful things to say about her the next day. I highly, highly recommend Pamela!

Hiring Pamela to take my wedding photos was one of the best wedding-related decisions I made. She was friendly, professional, responsive, flexible, and knowledgable. The quality of her photos is outstanding. Every time I take another look at them I find a new favorite. She delivered the photos to us very, very quickly. Pamela was pleasant to work with and did a great job getting excellent photos of people who tend to be camera shy. She also contributed a lot of knowledge to our event--she suggested a beautiful venue for our bride/groom portraits and helped us on our wedding day with getting the small details right (pinning on boutonnieres, etc.)

We are a farm winery in Middleburg, VA that is also a venue for weddings and events. The first year we got started, we hosted a Wedding Open House at our winery. Pamela helped make our wedding memories so beautiful. It was wonderful to have her there: during the wedding, she was invisible and yet, took so many wonderful photos - I don't know how she did it. I cannot write enough superlatives to describe Pamela and the quality of her photography. Pamela is an artist. She has a magic eye that makes a simple spot idyllic. Additionally, Pamela is authentic. Pamela seeks to get to know her subjects. She then uses what she knows about them to define their photography. For example, my spouse is British, and he loves to wear colorful socks. We had blush pink and silver as our wedding colors; my husband's light pink and gray patterned socks were at the center of some of Pamela's photographs. I am incredibly traditional and chose to have my wedding ceremony next door to National Cathedral in Washington, DC. Pamela came out before my wedding to scope out the area, and she found some incredibly traditional cathedral architecture in the form of big wooden doors, a gazebo, and an awning attached to the National Cathedral where she could take my photos. We'd previously hired Pamela to do our engagement photos, and she really captured the essence of our personalities. The same is true of our wedding photos. Pamela is very affable. She's incredibly organized while also maintaining calm. I was late back to our photo appointment because a makeup appointment was running late. Pamela was understanding yet resourceful. She immediately began finding subjects for her pictures other than the bride and groom, yet central to the wedding ceremony, to photograph until the bride and groom were ready. Pamela undergoes much preparation prior to the weddings she photographs. For example, in addition to earlier surveying the site with the bride, she asked pointed questions about whom the bride and groom would want in their wedding photos, as well as for suggestions as to where they'd like to be photographed. She also asked who should not be placed within the same photo. This is important, because as Anna Karena points out all families are imperfect or unhappy in their own way.

Pamela was absolutely fantastic. We loved that she scouted the site first, and had a clear and outstanding plan for where the most beautiful pictures could be taken. She and her assistant were so easy to work with on the day of the wedding, and the photo shoots were a lot of fun. The proof though, is in the pudding! The pictures are unique and amazing. We loved every one and had a difficult time narrowing it down to the album. Pamela just sent us the proofs for the album, which clearly took QUITE a lot of attention and dedication. My husband found Pamela on Wedding Wire and I am so glad he did! Before finding Pamela I had no idea what an amazing photographer could do for the entire wedding planning process! We chose to set up an appointment with Pamela as I loved her photography style from things I saw on her website- natural, artistic, unobtrusive. I was a little nervous before our first appointment (as I had obviously never signed a contract with a wedding photographer for a wedding before) and she made us feel so welcome and comfortable. We ended up using Pamela for engagement photos, engagement announcements, a bridal portrait session, eight hours on the wedding day with two photographers (Pamela and Bill), and purchased an album. Every experience with her was amazing. We had so much fun during all our sessions and seeing the final product was the best! I especially appreciated Pamela’s help during my bridal portrait. My mother lives several hours away and could not be there for such a special moment, so Pamela was there to help me with my dress, veil, and gave me her honest opinion about what positions and poses looked best. She goes the extra mile- for the best portrait (the one I ended up choosing to get printed) she crammed herself into a tiny cubby hole to get the perfect shot. On our wedding day her focus was totally on us (this included a phone call a couple of days before to see how everything was going and see if we had any final questions). When other people were being distracting or bothering us with small details on the wedding day, she was there to take charge in a professional and polite manner! When it was pouring rain (literally inches) she was there with a smile on capturing some amazing shots while holding an umbrella! When we first looked at the price list we thought it was expensive, but after the whole experience and all the personalized attention we feel as though we got a great deal and would have gladly paid even more! We love Pamela!

Pamela did a beautiful job capturing the joy & personality of our wedding! We got married on a bright, sunny Saturday at a national park, which meant a lot of harsh lighting to contend with. She mastered some tough conditions with grace & style. Whether gently guiding us to get the best poses for our portraits, or ensuring she was in just the right spot to capture the perfect candid moment, she did whatever she had to for that perfect shot. I especially appreciated her attention to even the tiniest detail, which really meant a lot since so much of our wedding was done by hand to create a deeply personal atmosphere. Without us even having to ask, all on her own she was thoughtful enough to spend time getting beautiful, artistic images of things like a sculpture my brother made, and the hand-drawn labels for the buffet that I spent hours working on. It's that kind of attention to detail that I think sets Pamela apart. She notices where the personality is, where those little details are that really tell a couple's love story in the subtlest of ways. Any photographer can capture a decent pose, but not every photographer is going to get on their knees to get the tiniest speck of dirt off your skirt. But Pam did! Any photographer can take a picture of a buffet, but not every photographer's going to focus on tiny calligraphy. But Pam did! If you're looking for a photographer who really tries their best to not only capture your most important day, but capture everything that makes you as a couple so uniquely special, look no further!

Pamela did a fantastic job capturing all our important moments, and was very fun and easy to work with. Pamela Lepold was recommended to us from our Reception venue and we couldn’t have been happier. From the first moment that we reached out to Pamela, she made us feel so comfortable and excited to work with her. Pamela took the time to make sure that we fully understood everything that was expected of us and of her and she made sure that she understood what we wanted her to capture in our photos. Even when we weren’t quite sure what we wanted, she was able to use her expertise to make some amazing recommendations. Pamela was fabulous about accommodating our schedule, since we live over an hour away. Pamela was helpful in every aspect of the wedding planning process as well as during our actual event. Even though we do not like to be in front of the camera, Pamela really made us feel at ease with the whole process. On our wedding day, she was such a calming presence. She always kept us "in the moment" and took the time to make sure that we were enjoying and taking in the moment. She made sure to capture all of the "must- have" photos, and numerous fun, emotional, and special moments throughout the day! Pamela helped us plan every minute (literally) of our wedding day to make sure that all of the “must-have” photos would be taken. This left our wedding day with very little distractions, and gave us comfort knowing that Pamela would capture everything. ALL of the pictures she (and Jennifer) took were beautiful and display worthy! Trying to decide which pictures would go in our album was almost impossible…but the end result was an incredibly beautiful, custom-made, album that we will treasure forever. Pamela did my sister's wedding pictures and they turned out truly amazing. She captured their moments beautifully - in fact I wish she had done our wedding pictures! Since we didn't know about her when we had our wedding five years ago, based on the breathtaking pictures from my sister's wedding we chose Pamela do our first professional family photos - our son was born in April and we never got around to do doing newborn photos so these family photos were extremely important to us - we wanted/needed them to be amazing! Pamela did not disappoint!!! Throughout the shoot she was extremely energetic and gave the most helpful direction to ensure that our photos turned out amazing. I've never worked with a photographer who actually took the time to fix my hair for several shots, tell us if the way we were holding our son wasn't working for the shot, etc. She wasn't shy either to be goofy to try and get my son to smile for the camera, it was great and honestly so much fun to work with her. Afterwards, even in the midst of the extremely busy wedding season, she had our proofs back w/in a week - how amazing (plus she has two little babies of her own!!). Pamela was truly a pleasure to work with, she makes you feel so comfortable but she still manages to keep the objective at hand and maintains professionalism which is really important b/c ultimately you want the most amazing pictures possible and Pamela delivers that.

I will forever be indebted to Pamela on her fantastic job capturing my wedding. My husband and I are completely blown away with the outcome of our photos. When we initially met with her, we were happy with our decision to have Pamela be with us on our wedding day but when we saw our wedding photos, we were speechless. We can't even decide on which photos for our album because they all are so amazing.

If I could give Pamela Lepold a score above a 5.0, I would. Hands down. We found Pamela on both the Washingtonian Bride & Groom list and on the Preferred Vendor list for our reception venue, the Fairmont Hotel. Finding the perfect photographer was extremely important to us and we set up seven interviews with outstanding vendors. Pamela was the first we interviewed and I must say we ended up comparing everyone else to her. During our meeting she immediately put my husband and I at ease and patiently walked us through our schedule of events, which was so helpful. By talking through our day we determined that we wanted to do a First Look and she suggested some locations that we should consider. She showed us albums of previous weddings she had covered and we were so impressed with her skill and artistic vision. Her style was exactly what we wanted and her sweetness and professionalism sealed the deal. She has this fabulous big-sister quality where you know she'll take care of you and really make sure you're happy and protected. And that's exactly the kind of person you want around you on your special day. Pamela and her assistant, Amy, were truly excellent. They took such beautiful pictures of EVERYTHING. They were so patient with us, which is huge because my husband and I are not the most graceful subjects. And at the end of the evening they were flexible with adding another hour when we asked. That's a very long day for them both and we sincerely appreciate how fabulous they were. The pictures are absolutely gorgeous and we are having a hard time choosing our favorites for the album -- there are just so many beautiful shots to choose from! Pamela was amazing! Before anyone showed up at the wedding venue, I saw her walking around the grounds scoping out spots to take pictures. So many photographers I see at other weddings put you in a spot and don't move you more than a couple feet. Pamela had us moving around to several spots. We very much enjoyed our experience with Pamela Lepold Photography. My husband and I were married in Old Town Alexandria in June, and we had interviewed several photographers, but were most impressed with Pamela's portfolio and previous interviews on Wedding Wire. From the first email, Pamela was very professional and responsive. While meeting at her home studio was out of the way for us, we are very happy that we made the trip as her work can be truly appreciated as seen in the photobooks and framed . For the quality of her work, the cost for her packages is very good. We could tell from her pre-wedding session that she is experienced.

Having Pamela was also like having a wedding planner as she scouted the wedding venue the week before the wedding to find locations for good shots. She reviewed all the small details which we had not thought of. *She also created a working timeline for the entire wedding, which showed how experienced she is*.

We were very satisfied with our experience. At first we had a difficult time with not being able to have complete access to all of the images on CD format (you do get it after 1 year), but after seeing the images touched up and on the website to be ordered and professionally printed, we were completely appeased as the quality is THAT GOOD.

She's the best. Her #1 goal is for you to have the best photos and she does what it takes to get it done. We have recommended her to several friends already.

On a scale of one to five stars, Pamela's a ten! She took our engagement and wedding photos. Being nervous to have professional photographs taken for the first time in a long time, Pamela put us right at ease. She first contacted us about what we were looking for, did we want our pictures to be more romantic, artsy, classic, etc? We laughed during the whole shoot and I couldn't believe how fast the time went. When we saw the pictures, we were amazed! They were exactly what we had been looking for! I couldn't wait to show everyone!

On our wedding, more of the same. Each detail was beautifully captured so that we can relive the day whenever we like. Pamela has an amazing eye, and the pictures look like pieces of art! She had scouted our location prior to our wedding, checking for great locations. Each setting she recommended, we gladly agreed to, knowing what would become of it. During family photos (which I've seen be long and drawn out at previous weddings), she had already sketched out a timeline of who would be in what picture when, creating such efficiency that we were back on the dance floor in no time!

Pamela could not have been better. Her photos perfectly captured every last detail of the wedding and people's true emotions. If you want your photos to have personality and are looking for a creative perspective then Pamela is who you should choose. We have received endless compliments on the photos. Furthermore she made us feel at ease during the wedding day. She identified the best spots for photos but also listened to what we wanted as well. She was professional and a true talent. We hope to work with her again!

We just did our Engagement Photos with Pamela and we loved them so much we wanted to write a review early! We had an idea about the location and feel for our portraits (Old Town Alexandria / modern style) and Pamela came up with multiple locations in that area that made for creative and unique photos.
Pamela also helped us plan for pictures before the day itself and I'm so glad she did! I think anyone using her will find that she has the experience to anticipate your wants/needs, which is going to make the big day go much more smoothly and will make for more great photos.
We have also been very satisfied with the value of her services (she goes out of her way to make sure you have gorgeous photos - she scouted locations, personally listened and planned the engagement session with us and made sure we had a great time and felt relaxed the entire time). I would highly recommend her to couples who really want the best in the area!

We were very fortunate to have found Pamela. She left us more than satisfied with absolutely everything.

Perhaps the most valuable thing was that she was so delightful the day of the wedding. One of the reasons we chose her was her personality and charm, which really made the difference. We wanted a photographer who could get as many shots as possible, but didn't want to feel like s/he was an annoyance. That's exactly what Pamela gave us.

She's a gifted photographer and the wedding album she put together for us was stunning. We highly recommend Pamela Lepold!

Pamela was so personal and sweet during all the planning of my daughter's wedding. She got great shots but was absolutely invisible during the church ceremony, which we discussed because I have seen it to be such a distraction at other weddings I have attended. The personal touch and attention to detail made the entire process work great and the pictures are beautiful.

Having a great photographer was one of our priorities. Immediately after meeting Pamela we knew that she was exactly what we were looking for. We loved her style and how her pictures were really unique, and not just the standard cookie-cutter wedding pictures. We shared her view that a photographer should capture all the important moments without being the center of attention. I didn't see her or her assistant at all during the ceremony but the pictures came out great. She kept everything on schedule and got all of the special pictures we requested. We were also very impressed with how she scouted out our location beforehand and knew exactly where to go to get some great shots with my husband and I alone and with our bridal party.

After the wedding, she was so fast getting all of our pictures online for us that we got to look at them while we were still on our honeymoon. We really couldn't have been happier working with Pamela. Although it was on the high end of what we wanted to pay for a photographer, we were very happy with the value we got for the money and think it was well worth the cost.

Pamela did a wonderful job. She met with us ahead of time to see what kind of photos we wanted. She arrived with plenty of time before the ceremony. She was very familiar with the location of the ceremony, so she knew the best places for photos. She had never been to the venue where we had the reception, so she went on her own in the days before the wedding to scout out some good spaces for pictures. She got the photos online with remarkable speed. We were all very impressed with her work.

Pamela Lepold Photography was so much more than a photographer for our wedding. As a bride there is so much that goes into planning a wedding, but Pamela helped ensure that all of the necessary details were there. She walked me through our big day before we had to actually do it, making sure everything was in place. After giving Pamela a list of my family and wedding party she seemed to know them all by name (and that is no small feat, I have a pretty large family). My favorite example of how Pamela is so much more than a photographer was when I was given the knife to cut the cake and she leaned in to ask if we knew how to cut the cake...of course that was a detail I didn't think about :) Pamela told us how to cut a slice without destroying the entire thing and she saved us from making a mess of our beautiful cake.

Now Photography-wise...the pictures were beautiful! I got married during a hurricane so it made taking pictures kind of tricky. Also, because of the craziness of the day we were unable to get to one of our photography sites. Pamela was prepared with several other sites that were probably even more beautiful than our original plan.

Pamela has a plan when all plans goes awry! She is so much more than an awesome photographer! I would recommend her to every bride-to-be that I know.

Of course I wish that photography was so expensive, but when searching around her prices were reasonable compared to other photographers in the area and like I said...you get so much more than a photographer.

Pamela photographed our wedding less than one month ago. The results were amazing! She captured all of the important moments but so many more with her classic and beautiful style. To say she exceeded our expectations would be a major understatement. The best part is I hardly remember her being there! She is easily one of the most professional photographers in DC. And her processing time was unbelievable - we were still on our honeymoon when she got us the results. We couldn't put a price on our wedding photos - which we will cherish forever!

Pamela is such a talented photographer. She met with us prior to the wedding to discuss what we liked about our venue location and the area around it. Then she scouted out places to take photos after the ceremony in advance and sent us a comprehensive roundup of her thoughts. It really made us feel part of the creative process. Our wedding day turned out to be the only day in October to have snow in VA, but that didn't phase Pamela. She adjusted our plan and ended up producing gorgeous pictures that we might not have gotten had she not been so quick on her feet and creative. She brings a fine arts eye to this part of the wedding process and we could not be happier with the end results!
