Simply the best!

We held our wedding at the Best Western Waterfront in Oshkosh on May 15th. When the planning process started, we checked out almost a dozen different venues and this one stood out immediately! Many venues had open dates but some made it very clear they were not interested in hosting a gay wedding event. When we met with David Helgeson we knew this was the right place for our wedding. Davig was amazing to work with, he assured us they could pretty much accommodate anything we needed. During the process, we needed to go back to the venue to take some measurements, take additional photos etc and the staff was always very helpful, even during the Covid restrictions. A few weeks before the wedding, we met with David and finalized things, he had some very good suggestions about placement, food changes and bar set up. The day before the event we went to set the room up, the staff was always there to help out with things we forgot or questions we had.
Then the day of the wedding finally arrives!
Everything was set up perfectly, we started with photos taken outside by the riverfront, then moved inside for the open bar. The bartenders were the best, no one waited for a drink and the drinks were perfectly made. The plated meal was served promptly, everyone said their meals were very tasty, hot and filling. More than a few times someone from the staff would check in to make sure everything was going as planned. The entire evening was better than we could have ever imagined!
We also booked rooms for all our family members to stay at the hotel, something we wanted to be able to do for them, since many had to drive almost an hour to get here. David took care of all of the room reservations as well as making sure they all received our welcome package.
Overall this was an amazing experience and while I know there is a terrific staff working with David Helgeson, I cannot remember all of their names, but we will never forget everything they did to make our day special!

Elegant and beautiful service

We would both like to express our immense gratitude to the Oshkosh Marriott Waterfront Hotel. From all the thoughtful planning that went into preparing for our day to the amazing communication throughout the entire process, we are beyond thankful. The food—both at the wedding and the reception—was incredible. Every plate looked and tasted as if it had been made just for us! We keep hearing from our guests how great the food was. The staff at the reception, the wedding, and the hotel were all so welcoming and kind. We are truly so happy with our entire experience. Thank you for helping make our day unforgettable!

I recommend Waterfront Catering!

I would highly recommend Waterfront Catering. We used them for our wedding (205 people) and they were excellent. Anna is very knowledgeable and easy to work with. The food was hot and delicious. The service was great. Nothing but great things to say!

Just amazing

Anna with Best Western Premier was PHENOMENAL. From our tasting to all my silly questions to the actual day- nothing short of amazing. Our chicken, pork, and vegetarian gnocchi was all to die for. Tasted just as great as it did at our tasting! We had no complaints, just praise from all our guests about how perfect it all was, which we all know is important for a wedding!! And this was during a busy time of year where the venue itself hosts weddings, as well as off site, which ours was. And again, nothing but perfect. If you’re looking for a caterer for your wedding in the Oshkosh area, you need to pick here!

Exceptional service and food quality!

Best Western Premier Waterfront catering was exceptional! Their catering coordinator, Anna, was communicative, organized, and friendly. Anna was always timely when answering any questions we had and their ability to be flexible and make modifications to our food vision was fantastic! The staff present on the day of our wedding were friendly and helpful to all the guests. On top of the great service, the food had a lot of compliments from our guests with a good variety and delicious taste. I would highly recommend this catering service for any celebration!

Phenomenal!

Everything was phenomenal! Over and above what we imagined! The staff was so kind and we appreciated every one of them. The buffet was gorgeous, and the food was somehow even better than when we tasted it!

Wedding & Reception!

I usually never leave reviews but this venue earned a review for sure.My wedding was Sept.5,2021.I worked with David Helgeson through the whole planning process.David's customer service was beyond OUTSTANDING I swear I couldn't thank this guy enough because that alone meant so much to me !He was there whenever i needed him.He answered every question I had & in a timely manner whether it was via email or phone call,he also reassured me that everything would go well & no need to worry!My husband & I are so glad that we choose Best Western Premier Waterfront Hotel & Convention Center to have our wedding. We couldn't have choose a better venue.From the outdoor ceremony,indoor reception,food & overnight stay @ the hotel & customer service things all went EXCELLENT from start to finish we had no issues!!Any couple looking for a venue I strongly recommend this venue w/out hesitation.Thanks Best Western for playing a part in one of the most important days in me & my husband's life 😊

First Rate Venue

Perfect Venue and Amazing Staff

We were married here on August 24th. We rented the South Half of the Convention Center. We booked about a year ago after getting engaged. The preparation was painless with Miranda. She was so calm and answered any/all questions we had in a timely manner. She makes sure your day is everything you want it to be! Our wedding turned out to be the most amazing day. We had so many compliments on the professionalism of the venue along with how kind all of the staff was. Looking back we wouldn't of changed a thing. Miranda and her team did a phenomenal job and we cannot thank her enough!

Great Wedding Venue!

We had our wedding on 8/3 at the Best Western Hotel and Convention Center. It was absolutely the best day ever and it is all thanks to Miranda and the BW banquet staff as well as the managers of the hotel, Dan and David. Miranda was very responsive throughout our entire wedding planning process and was accommodating as possible! The only time I had to wait for an email back (on a very rare occasion) was maybe a Sunday or Monday afternoon when Miranda was likely not in the hotel. :)
Food - We had our dinner catered (of course) through the convention center’s banquet staff and it was amazing! We received so many compliments all night, and are still receiving those compliments, about how great the food was as well as how amazing the banquet staff did in getting all of the food out. Our wedding was about 240 people and we have been to weddings of smaller sizes, where we ended up waiting a very long time to receive our meal. There were many comments about how efficient the banquet staff was in getting all of the plated meals out to the tables in a timely manner!
Budget - Yes, weddings are expensive but in terms of all of Oshkosh, this venue was the most affordable for us as well as it offered everything we wanted and needed. There is a hotel
Attached so we did not need to worry about a shuttle, it is located right on Main Street so people had places to go between mass and the reception, it is on the water so it offered a pretty backdrop for pictures, and the venue was large enough to accommodate our guest list.

Easily the easiest vendor we worked with

Miranda (who was our main contact throughout the whole process) was so amazing to work with. She made the whole experience as stress-free as possible. We never felt taken advantage of, or that she tried to force us into anything we didn't want. When the day came, the food was fantastic and the personnel that were at the venue were so wonderful to work with. 10/10 can not recommend highly enough

Wonderful place for a wedding!

We have nothing but wonderful things to say about the Best Western team! Having catering, bar service, the ceremony, and reception all provided by one place was incredibly helpful to us, as we were planning the wedding from four hours away. Miranda Gorges, their wedding and event manager, answered every one of our MANY questions and was helpful in providing guidance on decor and setup. She arranged for a couple different tours of the venue as well. The ceremony along the river was beautiful and the staff took care of chair setup and takedown. The reception space was recently updated and had everything we needed for the dinner and reception--plenty of space, tables for decor. The catering and bar staff were wonderful; they went out of their way to ensure that we and our guests had everything we needed and more. One woman even kept my meal warm while my husband and I went out to take a few pictures! We also held our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner at the Best Western, at which the staff was also very nice and accommodating. We would highly recommend this venue for a wedding!

The best western went above and beyond in every aspect of our wedding! The little details were what blew us away. They laid out forgotten decorations on our cake table, lit candles during our ceremony, made sure our guests with allergies were taken special care of, and even left us gifts at our reception and in the hotel, all being so unexpected. The service was so great and everyone so kind, thorough, and professional! It made it even better that they could do our rehearsal dinner, the hotel, wedding catering, transportation, and the cake! Planning was such a breeze with the help of Miranda and I wouldn’t have done it any different.

I had an amazing experience using Best Western Premier Waterfront Hotel & Convention Center as the reception venue for my wedding. Miranda was amazing, she was so helpful and answered all of my questions right away. My husband and I had our reception in the Convention Center. We loved the set up and the food was delicious! Miranda and the teams at Best Western and Oshkosh Convention Center were incredible! Miranda helped take all the guess work out of planning our wedding. She was well prepared and answered all of my questions before I could even ask them. We received so many complements from our guests about the venue, the food, and the hotel accommodations. I am so happy we chose The Best Western in Oshkosh for our wedding reception venue. All of the staff, from the coordinator to the servers & bartenders, were helpful and kind. The hotel was clean and the ballroom we used was gorgeous. The location is great and it's nice they have a restaurant inside too for people that stay from out of town. I would HIGHLY recommend hosting any kind of event here. You won't regret it!

Our wedding was a day to remember mainly because of the staff at your convention center. The food was fabulous. The wait staff was prompt and friendly. Bartenders were fun and friendly. ( Carol and Jamie I think her name was). Overall, I am highly recommending The Best Western Premier Hitel and Convention Center. Mirranda Gorges was OUTSTANDING!!! I am very very pleased!!!

This is a great venue! Miranda is very organized and helpful. You can tell she loves weddings and wants you to have the best wedding possible. She was a pleasure to work with and all the staff members were polite and did a great job. We received many compliments on the food from our guests.

Miranda and her team were fantastic. After the Retlaw closed suddenly we were scrambling for a venue. Our wedding was in the conference center, with the windows that walked out to the patio and river. It turned out great, and our guests were just as please as us. Best western Premier was a great choice for us! I planned our wedding from California and Miranda made our process very easy and painless! Our food was amazing and our guest really enjoyed everything! I would highly recommend them to anyone! They also include linens and a room to stay in the night of your wedding for FREE which is awesome! We are both very pleased with how the staff and everything went through the beginning to the very end!

I was hesitant to have a hotel wedding but with so many out of state guests it just made sense. I am so glad I went with this venue! Miranda was absolutely fantastic and made the day run flawlessly. The staff was very professional and friendly and did a fantastic job! We had rave reviews on how it didn't feel like a hotel wedding and how elegant everything was. The food was good and I all the guests were raving about the appetizers! It was a very busy weekend at the hotel with a pageant in town and other weddings at the convention center but you never would have known! I would highly recommend Best Western Premier Waterfront Hotel to anyone!

We are incredibly amazed by the spectacular service and kindness of the staff at the OCC. Their willingness to go above and beyond to make our day perfect was wonderful and so appreciated. The kitchen staff blew us away with their wonderful cuisine and cupcakes! The whole experience was everything we could have dreamed of, and the venue was definitely a huge component in making that happen!

Staff was so friendly and helpful. They let my decorator come in early because they had nothing else booked so they could take their time decorating. If i had any questions Miranda would get back to me so fast with clear answers and good suggestions..i thought their portion sizes for the meals were small for the prices but delicious.

I could not say anything better about Miranda and the team at the Best Western/Convention Center. Service was great, on time, friendly, and all around fantastic and the food was great too! Miranda went above and beyond the call of duty for us. There was another event at the Convention Center over the lunch hour before our wedding and Miranda and the staff set up the centerpieces, favors, card box, specially-made table numbers, cake table, place cards, and probably other things that I'm forgetting! It certainly was beyond what we could have expected but it was so appreciated. My husband and I didn't have to worry about squeezing in time to get it done and we didn't have to ask any family or friends to be in charge which meant they could enjoy the day to the fullest as well. Everyone at the Best Western/Convention Center are seriously the best. We ended up at the Conveention Center after our original venue closed unexpectedly five months before our wedding and it was honestly a blessing in diguise! We could have asked for a better venue, and staff, to work with!!

I was blown away by the impressive customer service I received. Working with many vendors, some were good and some were bad. Miranda was very prompt in communication with me at all times. Everything was spelled out so I never had to think about what the next stages were. This was very nice, especially as wedding planning was stressful towards the end. The little unique touches were great such as champagne and chocolates in the room the night of our wedding and the unique and personalized wedding gift. The food was outstanding and I would recommend them to anyone wanting to plan a wedding. Of all the vendors we worked with, they were by far the best we hard!

We had both our ceremony and reception at the Best Western. Johanna was amazing. She was very quick to answer all my questions related to both the ceremony and reception. They made any changed we asked for. Everyone loved the food we had for appetizers, dinner, and our late night snacks. The staff was all very friendly and accommodating. Johanna at the Oshkosh Best Western Premier and Convention Center was great to work with! She was knowledge, professional, organized and timely in her responses. The venue itself is beautiful and was able to accomodate all of our requests.

The hotel was recently remodeled and had big enough rooms to allows all the women to get ready in one room. It was important to use that our venue had a hotel attached so that people would not have to drive after the wedding.

On the day of our wedding, the staff was very helpful with the set-up and take-down of our decorations. We recieved many compliments on the food and location (south half overlooking the river).

Overall, this venue made it easy for us to work with them, which was very important during the stressful wedding planning process!

My husband & I got married at the Oshkosh Convention Center and it was everything we had thought it would be and more! The service was amazing, the staff was great to work with and we were so happy to have chosen the Convention Center! We had our original hall go bankrupt on us and Johanna, David, & the rest of the staff were so nice to work with and made the transition so easy! We had a lot of ideas we were going to use for the first hall and they were more than happy to accommodate to our needs to make the day as special as it was! The communication we had with Johanna was quick responses and we got everything done! They were great with changes that had to be made and so easy to get along with. If you have anyone that's engaged I highly recommend the Oshkosh Convention Center for the reception!

My wife and I used Best Western's catering service for our wedding and they were great. Miranda was extremely accommodating and responsive with our requests. Our guests loved the food and have talked about it since the wedding. There were many options and packages to choose from ranging for all budgets. Service with a smile

Miranda was great to work with she made things so simple! The appetizers were amazing everyone raved about them. The servers were great also, we did a plated meal. It is difficult as always to serve lots of people, we had 150, but the food was acceptable with good flavor. Their customer service is what sets them apart I feel!

We received so many positive comments about our reception at the Best Western. The space, next to the water, is ideal. Even with our amount of guests (nearly 300), the buffet lines were run very efficiently, and the food was delicious! In the planning process, Miranda was very professional, responsive to all of our changes, and an amazing coordinator to work with. We had the BEST experience with this venue. Not only was Miranda phenomenal to work with, but she and the staff did everything they could to make our day special - even leaving champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our room on our wedding night! My husband and I were looking for a reception venue with a reception hall and hotel rooms. We wanted it to be in the Fox Valley, so we were able to narrow down our choices with those two requests. When we toured Best Western in Oshkosh it was without a doubt the venue that felt 'right'. We also were confident that our needs would be taken care of. We worked with Miranda (who is PHENOMENAL) and we booked the Athearn Ballroom because we absolutely fell in love with how gorgeous it was and the ease of finding it, guests returning to their rooms, etc. We went with a buffet choice for our dinner and the food was better than we expected! All of the guests that were at dinner commented on how delicious the food was and how fast the buffet line went. After Miranda had left for the evening, the night event staff at Best Western were better than expected - someone even helped my mom bustle my dress! I just can't write or say enough good things about Best Western Premier in Oshkosh. If I had to do my wedding all over again, my number one request to re-book would be the Best Western.

We loved having our wedding at the BW! The space was beautiful (we were in the South half/riverside of the convention center) and the service was top notch. Miranda, the event coordinator was extremely responsive - the best out of my team of vendors. She was a life saver and always had an answer to my random questions. We actually chose a Friday afternoon, which was an amazing value, and did our ceremony right along the river outside. Worrying about boat horns for the bridge, some light car traffic, and the train bridge, we actually only dealt with two boat horns and it made for some lighter moments during our ceremony. Reception food was tasty (lot's of compliments) and things went super smoothly - waitstaff were fantastic. Couldn't be happier with our venue choice!

Our wedding was May 29th, 2015, and my wife and I were extremely happy with how the day turned out. We had a group of guests that totaled just over 200, and we were in the south hall facing the river. Our main meal selections were Chicken Oscar and French Stuffed Pork Chops. Both were delicious meals, and I've heard back from multiple family members and friends that they loved the food. I also didn't hear of any wait staff being rude to guests as I've read in a previous review. Maybe an employee was just having a bad day. Not sure.

I thought Johanna and her staff did a good job throughout the process. Johanna is easy to work with, and the only negative things I can say about the experience with the convention center are:

1. The 2015 menu was not completed until Feb./March of 2015. This left us with a pretty short window to test food and get invites finalized with a card for people to choose their plated meal.

2. This is something the people at the Best Western can't necessarily prevent because the convention center is a city-owned property, but the group of 10-15 people sitting along the river in front of the convention center drinking a 30-Pack of Red Dog and blaring rock music on their radio left some of my guests feeling uncomfortable. I personally thought the people were pretty harmless, and one lady actually told my wife she looked beautiful, but I can understand how some people may have felt the way they did. Again, this is nothing against Johanna and the Best Western because they were really good to work with, but I wanted people considering the venue to know what could happen.

Overall, my wife and I had a pretty perfect day. Johanna and her staff (Tina?) were more than accommodating during the wedding, and we'd recommend them to others looking to use their services.

We held our reception at the Best Western in Oshkosh in the ballroom. The room itself was absolutely stunning. We started working with Johanna but then Miranda took over and we finished the couple months with Miranda. Miranda was attentive, patient and understanding. We were told 10 days before the wedding the layout we had been planning was not able to be done and after I had a bridal meltdown, Miranda worked with me to ensure that there would be as little disruption as possible. She was accommodating and provided a couple different options to fix the problem. The day went off without a hitch. We absolutely adored the reception space. The food was delicious, the service was fantastic. The head waitstaff popped up by us to make sure everything was going well or if we needed anything throughout the night. It was a fantastic night.

I had my wedding here and I there were some issues with scheduling in the room we needed, but overall everything went smoothly.

A beautiful place to have your wedding reception. It was extremely easy to decorate and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend someone to go here.

Overall great experience. Coordinator told us the amount of appetizers we ordered would be plenty but we ran out within 5-10 minutes of being set out.

We heard from multiple guests that wait staff was rude.
Johanna was great to work with before hand. Very quick to respond to my questions and extremely helpful.

The venue was beautiful with the water and fall colors just outside the windows! Our event coordinator, Johanna was timely in responses and able to answer any questions without delay. She was open to share ideas once asked. Again a beautiful venue!

Really great venue- we were in the ballroom with a crowd of 170 which was very spacious and comfortable. Didn't need to decorate much because the room itself is very classy and elegant. Staff was great to work with. Tina was EXCELLENT with anything that needed to be taken care of during dinner. Be sure to cover all of your bases prior to the event and be diligent with what you want and you'll be good to go.

If you choose this venue for ceremony, make sure that no events are going on the river. Example: dragon boat races in September. The hotel won't notify you of events like this until a few months before the wedding. Also if already booked make sure people get hotel rooms early..they full up extremely fast with a capacity for 3 wedding the same night and multiple conference rooms.
