We had a small intimate wedding at our house followed by dinner at Lemaire (The Jefferson). By looking at our pictures, one would think we had a royal wedding. Our pictures were so professional and creative! Orrie is very talented and gifted in the art of photography and his work is proof. I am very happy with our final photos and we’ve even decided to order additional products. Orrie was wonderful to work with, very personable and seemed more like part of the family than one of our vendors. My husband and I have three unmarried sons and we can’t wait for one of them to get married so we can work with Orrie again! We will take care of their photography as a gift. I hope this review helps someone to choose a photographer with an eye for detail to capture all of the things you will more than likely miss on your special day! Choose Orrie, you’ll be pleased. -

He has a beautiful personality and is truly working above and beyond during your entire event to capture every moment you want to preserve (even ones you hadn't thought of yourself!). He is very kind and has a wonderful passion for his art and we couldn't have been happier to work with him! Thank you Orrie for capturing our special day!

Lisa Sent on 11/30/2017Orrie was amazing! He and Mike were there from start to finish; at the hotel in the morning while beautification was going on to the after party in the hotel bar! I never knew how much to get to know your photographer during your big day, so it's important you love them! Orrie was a blast! One of my guests even told me they saw him trying to teach my mom how to wobble!!! He was truly there to make the day perfect, not just to take pictures. You know your photographer was great when they tell you how great he is before they even see the pictures!

Overall, our experience with Orrie Gaines was terrible. He made a lot of promises to get us to book with him at a wedding expo in January of 2022 for our October 2022 wedding, then proceeded to be difficult to work with and did not fulfill many promises. His customer service was almost non-existent. I had to follow-up with him many times for anything that I needed from him and he rarely provided input, suggestions, or explanations for what he offers. Below are some of the issues we had:
He was over an hour and a half late to our Engagement Shoot, with no explanation. He said he'd owe us, but never made good on that promise.
At my bridal shoot, his studio was very disorganized and cramped. He had a very impatient demeanor and made me feel like he didn't want to be there.
A few days before our wedding, despite stating that he would be at our wedding when we booked him, he told us he wouldn't be there and it would only be second shooters. He did not provide a reason for why he wouldn't be there. His second shooters at our wedding did a great job, but it was clear they were inexperienced.
When we tried to fulfill our print credit that was included in our contract, he placed the order without contacting us for final approvals or telling us the options he offered. We reached out to him to try to get the issue resolved and he replied with a series of emails that were dismissive, unhelpful, and unprofessional. He did not own up to any wrongdoing on his part (like placing the order without our approval) nor did he suggest any solutions. Through that process, he stated that he typically upcharges clients $600-$800 for Shutterfly albums that you can easily put together yourself. Eventually, he just stopped replying to us.
Do not use this Orrie Gaines Photography, Orrie will make the memories associated with your wedding stressful and disappointing.
