We chose Origins for our Welcome Dinner, as we wanted our out of town guests to feel well fed and comfortable on the evening before our son’s wedding. Kristen and her lovely staff dealt with demanding dietary restrictions and a huge, hungry crowd perfectly. We had so much delicious food, and the atmosphere was positively magical! Five stars!!!! Highly recommended!!!! -

As locals to Cooperstown, there was only one choice for our wedding reception-Origins Cafe. Without a doubt they offer the best food in the area-ethnic inspired dishes, with locally sourced ingredients, all made with love. The venue itself is a little oasis within Central NY. Origins is a true gem, they provide exceptional service in a unique atmosphere- the vibe is calming and beautiful and we couldn't have had a more magical day. Thank you to co-owners, Kristen & Dana Leonard and their entire team for throwing us the wedding reception of a lifetime! -

Beautiful Space
Got married about 2 weeks ago, and guests are still talking about the beautiful space and the delicious food. It was seriously everything we've ever imagined or wanted. Everything we asked for or needed was made available, and the only regret we have from the night was not eating more of the food!! Could not recommend this venue and the people more!! They made the day absolutely perfect. -

Danielle Sent on 04/24/2018This place is magical. The atmosphere is unbeatable with the cafe nestled among greenhouses and gardens, bursting with plants, flowers and color. It feels like an enchanted garden. Kristen and Dana (the owners) are equally enchanting. They were warm, welcoming, easy going, accommodating, knowledgeable and reassuring every step of the way. Family and friends haven't stopped raving about the venue, people and food. The food was locally sourced, imaginative, and DELICIOUS. We had lots of fun menu planning with them and took advantage of many of their vegetarian and vegan options, although they do offer equally delicious meat and dairy-full menu items. We loved the one stop shopping - ceremony and reception were at the same location and they even offer a space for the bride to get ready. They took care of the planning, setup, catering, cleanup and decor. We just used their space as is, no extra cost for flowers or decorations, because it's so beautiful. I believe they also offer floral services if you want centerpieces, etc. The only other vendors we needed were a band and photographer, who were well assisted by the awesome Origins staff. Everything ran smoothly on the big day, flawless and stress-free. We couldn't imagine having our wedding anywhere else and wholeheartedly recommend Origins Cafe.

Nisha Sent on 03/28/2018We had a beautiful wedding reception at Origins Cafe in May 2016 and couldn't have picked a better spot in Cooperstown for our destination wedding! We had a relatively small guest list of 55 guests and wanted a beautiful but casual and enjoyable wedding; Kristen and Dana definitely made our dream wedding come true! The venue was the perfect size to accommodate our guests and some more; the cafe was full of beautiful plants and herbs so we didn't have to provide a lot of decorations which was a huge plus for us! Origins Cafe had a variety of cuisines for us to pick from and the food we had was simply delicious; lot of our guests said it was the best wedding food they've had since everything cooked is fresh, organic and full of flavor! The ladies at Origins Cafe also recommended a DJ who was perfect, he was very attentive and helped the wedding go smooth and all the guests enjoyed his music; we were dancing till midnight! The bartender that Origins provided was also wonderful and we loved the drinks and the fact that we could choose what type of drinks we wanted to have. The ladies at Origins also worked very well with our tight budget which we appreciated so much; they were great with communicating through emails. We couldn't have had a better stress-free wedding experience and cannot recommend Origins Cafe enough!

Our wedding day was a dream at Origins Café! We wanted an intimate wedding for 50-60 people and the Leonard family delivered. The outdoor ceremony took place on the patio overlooking our guests and was decorated to our taste and preferences. The cocktail hour took place on the lower level of the café with a full bar (featuring local drinks) and many delicious, fresh appetizers. Guests fought over the fried wild mushroom ravioli! We selected the buffet option for dinner and our guests still rave that it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding- particularly the seasonal vegetable lasagna. Kristen and her crew were incredibly accommodating and spoiled us all day. We saved money because there was no need for extra decorations. The natural plants and décor of the café served as the perfect backdrop for photos and created a beautiful atmosphere for the evening. Overall, Origins Café was the perfect venue and our guests loved traveling to this unique hidden gem of Cooperstown. -

Our wedding was absolutely amazing thanks to Kristen and the Origins staff! We could not have asked for better people to work with! The venue was beautiful and provided a magical and relaxing atmosphere. We still have guests telling us how beautiful everything was and how much fun they had! Many have also mentioned they had never been to a venue quite like it. They loved how unique it was just as much as we did. The food was delicious and the options they provided, as well as their flexibility with the menu, made it easy to accommodate the various dietary restrictions among our guests. We loved that the food was organic and locally sourced as well. We had the perfect day and cannot thank Origins enough and highly recommend them! -

Danny Sent on 12/17/2017Origins Cafe was the only place that seemed right to us when we were planning our wedding. The atmosphere and people really meshed with our vision. The cafe is situated in a greenhouse, and you feel like you are in a tropical paradise without leaving upstate NY. After the wedding, many guests shared with us how special they felt our wedding was-- and a great part of that was due to the venue and the flexibility of the staff during planning.
Origins Cafe is unique in the area because of their commitment to sustainably produced food. We had two locally produced entrees: a vegan moussaka and a chicken pot pie. As we were doing our rounds with the guests, one individual claimed that the moussaka was "a revelation." Additionally, the venue was flexible in allowing us to bring in our own alcohol--cutting down on cost, without sacrificing any bit of the decorum one expects in a wedding party.
One of the most important things worth sharing involves the stress free approach Origins Cafe uses when it comes to wedding planning. Discussing matters such as cost and the size of the wedding party are not easy topics to broach with anybody. Origins Cafe, again, excelled when it came to working within the confines of our budget to create a wedding atmosphere that exceeded our expectations.
To conclude, we would highly recommend this venue to anybody. Origins excels at balancing a care free attitude with the professionalism and organization of a top-notch venue. The best part of it all is, they treat you like family. -

Kate Sent on 03/02/2018Kristen and Dana are amazing people that create a professional, creative, and delicious food spread! They are completely dedicated to local food and worked with us to use produce and meat that we grow on our farm. Their food was artfully arranged and absolutely delicious. Wedding guests are still talking about the food eight months later.
