This band is the truth.
Do you long for your decrepit grandmother in law to feel the groove of the 70’s in her bones again, conjuring up a deeply entrenched, once thought to have been forgotten spirit of funk moving her out of her wheel chair and into the middle of the organically-formed dance pit? Are you sick and tired of the electric slide, the Cupid shuffle, and all of the other generic/beaten dead horse songs having a Kung-fu grip on American weddings since the early 2000’s? Do you want to experience a concert that random old people whom you haven’t met at all will come up to you in the middle of the night and say “I haven’t EVER experienced a reception like this one in my life.”? To take from Jesus’ words about his dear cousin John the Baptist in Matthew 11:11 (ESV), TRULY, I say to you, among those band members born of women, there have risen none better than the ones that belong to Original Point of View.”
I can assume that you and your fiancé are probably in a quarrel about whether you should hire a DJ, a small band, or just have your friend Jimmy “DJ” your wedding reception for $20 and a case of cheap beer. Let me make this extraordinarily simple for you. I don’t care if it’s not in the budget. I don’t care if you have to steal someone’s baby’s college fund money. I don’t care if you think you know best, because you don’t. OPOV is the way to go, always, 10/10 times, 24/7/365, 100% of the time, forever and ever, AMEN.
You would not believe the AMAZING time my wife and I had absolutely losing our MINDS to the genius that is OPOV. Each musician, their individual and collective talent, their stage presence, and their crowd engagement: Next to none, and I’ll fight someone who disagrees. I will literally throw physical hands.
If you want to have a normal, causal, “safe”, beige, boiled chicken/no seasoning kind of wedding, do not hire this band. Please, it’ll ruin your mediocre dreams and will put you at risk for expanding your mind into areas of your brain that you didn’t think existed.
If you want to see new colors, witness miracles take place before your very eyes, and taste and see that the Lord is good and good ALL THE TIME, there is no other band you should hire for your wedding event other than OPOV. Point blank.
You may be asking yourself, “How can I take the words of this random review from this unknown zealot seriously?” Well, all I can say is that after first experiencing this band at two of our friends’ wedding in March of 2022, we said to ourselves that whenever we get married we may not know how all of the details will fall into place, but we do know that we will try our hardest to hire this band. In October 2024, we did just that and I can confidently say that OPOV shot 100% from the field hitting back to back to back to back 3 pointers reminiscent of Steph Curry in the 2024 Olympic Gold Medal game against France.

Hands down the BEST party band for a wedding. As a vendor, I appreciate, and highly value a team that shows up early, works tremendously hard, and puts in the effort to provide the absolute BEST entertainment around. Don't shop around- if OPOV has your date available, book them immediately! -

OPOV was so easy to work with. They were flexible, responsive, fun, and even learned so many songs for us. They were A BLAST. They danced, were incredibly talented, and seemed like they wanted to be at our wedding just as much as we did!! So many of my guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to because of OPOV. I requested songs in the middle of my wedding and they were so responsive! I had a blast! -

OPOV band is amazing!!! They exceeded our expectations. Our guests could not stop talking about how much fun they had at the reception, all thanks to OPOV! They traveled over 8 hours for us and didn't play a song we didn't love! I highly recommend booking them for any event! -

If I had a dollar for every compliment I received for OPOV Band's performance at my daughter's wedding last Saturday night, I would have had almost enough to pay for the band itself. Which, by the way, was worth every penny I did pay.

I'm an event planner and book bands often. I can give OPOV a big 'ol stamp of approval! They really know how to work a crowd. They performed at our Parents Weekend evening event and everyone was still talking about them the next day, describing the event as EPIC! Super nice and professional. I will be hiring them again! -

Fundraising Ball for Easterseals of the Birmingham Area
OPOV was amazing!! They exceeded my expectations and I have high expectations!! I am the Director of Development for a nonprofit in Birmingham, we had our annual fundraising ball at a club in Birmingham and we wanted an exceptional band for our event. OPOV really made the whole experience! The crowd was on the dance floor ALL NIGHT, they were like a well-greased machine knowing what song to play next and keep the party alive. You will get your money worth when you hire OPOV! They were also SO EASY to communicate with, answers on the spot and even scheduled times to talk to me -- like I said, I have high expectations and they met them all!! Also, our event was a Mardi Gras Ball, so the photos show the band dressed in theme! -

The OPOV Band entertained us at my Daughter's wedding reception. It was an 11:00 AM wedding on a cold wet Saturday in January during the COVID Omicron spike. Needless to say, my Wife and I were concerned whether anyone would even bother to show up for a brunch wedding, and much less be glad that they came. But, from experience we knew that the band can make or break any party. The OPOV Band did not disappoint. The played as the guests were seated and the wedding party entered, and then sang a beautiful rendition of The Lord's Prayer at the conclusion of the wedding vows. Upon the completion of the Bride/Groom and Parent/Child dances, they really got cranked up and the dance floor quickly filled up. And the dance floor remained full for the entire event. Very few people left before the Bride and Groom made their grand exit, which is a testament of just how much fun it was. Their selection of music was excellent, and their delivery of that music was spot on. We all danced for hours....in the middle of the day....and even people who I don't typically think of as dancers never left the floor. They played for 3 hours straight, and we could have gone on for several more hours. It was so much fun that several people remarked that they would like to hire OPOV for their child's wedding and a corporate event. I highly recommend OPOV Band for your next event. -

OPOV is the best band ever!! They kept the party pumpin'! As a planner, they were so unproblematic and rolled with some of the things that can come up on wedding day. They made every announcement, showed up on time, and every member was so so kind and helpful! I will definitely be working with them again in the future. Booking OPOV Band was one of the first things we did when we decided to get married in AL! We had seen them at a friends wedding where we had the most fun and knew that we had to have them for our big day! It was one of the best decisions of our wedding! Everyone had so much fun and they did an amazing job and were so helpful and accommodating when we originally postponed from covid, they did our special song requests so beautifully and truly brought all the vibes we wanted on our big day. Multiple friends said they wish they could fly them out for their weddings! -

The BEST band!
OPOV Band is a MUST! They played for our 350+ guest wedding reception and were the talk of the town. They had the entire crowd on their feet the whole night! They brought soul and energy to our wedding cocktail hour and reception and FAR exceeded our expectations. From our initial contact and booking to the day of our reception, they were timely and professional. You will not regret hiring them for your big day. Band does not disappoint
My wife and I booked this band for her parents 50th Wedding Anniversary. We first saw them in action about 2 years ago and said if we ever did an event we would look them up. They sounded great then and did not disappoint. From the moment we reached out to them you can tell they wanted to exceed our expectations and that they did. The band performed live music for the vow renewal processional and recessional which added an authentic touch to the ceremony. They sounded amazing. At the request of the bride and groom, they performed “At Last” by Etta James for their first dance. They kept the hall filled with music while guests dined and during the reception. Guests were asking about how to book them for their own upcoming events. If you have an event where you want great sounding music, I’d recommend the OPOV Band hands down. -

I don’t even know where to begin with how amazing the OPOV BAND was at our wedding reception on 4/6/19. From the first time I spoke with Sam I knew they were the right band for our wedding reception. They were so accommodating and learned our first dance songs for us so they could play them and man did they kill it. My husband and I chose “Crush” by Dave Matthews Band for our first dance song. That song is definitely not easy to learn and play but they brought me to tears when I heard it. I was floored with how good they sounded. They also learned and played a special request I had. My dad loves wagon wheel by Darius Rucker and they played it for him as a surprise and my dad was so excited. The whole band was interactive with the crowd and got the guests to get out of their chairs and get down on the dance floor. The talk of the wedding reception was how amazing they were. And not only were they all amazing performers they are just good genuine people who enjoy taking part in making a wedding reception special and fun. One of my aunts has a couple of friends getting married and has already given her friends their contact information because she was so impressed just like all of the guests were. It was truly a special unforgettable wedding reception all thanks to the OPOV BAND. Trust me you will not be disappointed if you hire them! -

I am a wedding photographer so I've heard LOTS of bands and hands down OPOV is one of the best!! They have a great song list to keep guests on the dance floor! They were so agreeable and helped me pull off this surprise party for my hubs. My husband loves bands and live music so it was very important for me to do this for him. The party was cocktail formal and The band really classed up the event. Their attire is spot on and I am beyond thankful for the energy they brought to my husbands 40th surprise bday party! I will forever book this band for any event that we host!

Mother of Bride
The band was absolutely amazing. I have used them for both of my daughters weddings one in 2019 and one 12/17/2022. Both weddings we always had guests on the dance floor til the last minute. The vocal singers were wonderful. I can’t say enough about this band . Wonderful would use them 1000 times for any event. Highly recommend -
