When we first spoke with the OneHeart team, we asked a simple question: what is the real value of a wedding planner? After all, with a proactive family or a supportive venue, it’s tempting to think you can handle it yourself.
Having now gone through the experience, I can say this: it’s almost impossible to fully understand that value until you’ve planned an event of this scale. A great wedding planner is not just an organizer—they are your advocate, your safety net, and your calm in the chaos. They manage vendor negotiations, keep finances and timelines in check, and handle the countless small (and not-so-small) things that inevitably go wrong.
And things will go wrong. On our wedding morning alone: the makeup artist was late, the videographer was confused about the schedule, and stress started to build. Yet through it all, Mandy and her team remained composed, solution-oriented, and completely in control. They quietly brought everything back on track while allowing us to stay present in the moment.
If you think organizing a 120-person wedding is similar to hosting a large party—think again. This day carries a level of emotional weight that’s hard to anticipate. Having a dedicated team means you can actually experience it, instead of managing it.
Even with the best planning, the day flies by in an instant. That fleeting moment is exactly why having a team like OneHeart is worth it—many times over.
From start to finish, Mandy and the OneHeart team were kind, patient, and deeply committed to bringing our vision to life—even when it was unconventional. They pushed us at times toward safer options, but those conversations always led to thoughtful compromises between our ideas, feasibility, and budget.
Our wedding blended Indian, Chinese, and European traditions, and the team approached it all with genuine curiosity and attention to detail. I still remember turning to my wife when we arrived at the dinner and saying, “This is more than perfect.” Despite being involved in every detail, we were still blown away by how beautifully everything came together.
A special thank you to Sarah Conejo, who helped translate ideas we couldn’t fully articulate into something tangible and elegant, and to Marlene Fong, who made even our last-minute tweaks feel seamless.

Working with them was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Throughout the entire process I honestly never felt stressed, which says a lot when planning such an important event. They constantly brought amazing ideas to the table, and in the end many of those ideas were exactly what made our wedding feel so special and unique.
They truly understood our concept and respected our personalities. At no point did we feel judged about any of the personal details we shared with them or the things that were important to us. Instead, they always tried to accommodate us in the best possible way, which made the whole experience feel very comfortable and genuine.
We also connected really well on a personal level—they are incredibly fun to work with and made the planning process enjoyable. At the same time, they were very realistic and transparent about our budget. When we explained what we wanted and what we could spend, they helped guide us honestly and showed us how to adjust things so we could still achieve the feeling and experience we wanted.
Thanks to them, our wedding turned out even better than we imagined. We are extremely grateful and would recommend them to anyone planning their wedding. -

From the very beginning, working with One Heart was an amazing experience. Mandy and her team are responsible, organized, and incredibly kind. Their communication was always clear, they truly understood our needs, and explained every detail thoroughly.
Hiring them in advance was such a big advantage, since it allowed us to book the right vendors on time and keep everything perfectly organized with payments. Even the vendors themselves had wonderful things to say about Mandy’s professionalism and her team’s quality of work.
On our wedding day, we felt completely relaxed and at ease because we trusted everything would go perfectly—and it did! Every detail was taken care of, everything was right on time, and we honestly felt so special throughout the day.

Epic destination wedding planners!
Working w One Heart Events made the entire wedding planning process SEAMLESS! I can’t imagine what it would’ve been like to have been in charge of all the tiny details that OHE pulled off. They were professional from the beginning, always following up on pending items and were able to accommodate last min cancelling and changes. They brought my Pinterest boards to life seemingly with so much ease and creativity. They were always available for questions and never left me hanging when I had worries.
At first, I wasn’t sure what venue to pick since everyone was coming from the US, but they recommend Villas Caletas and while I had some doubts since I didn’t get to see the venue before the wedding weekend, I was absolutely blown away! The venue and hotel itself was beautiful, but the way they transformed the ceremony and reception area was UNREAL!
After the end of the wedding, they provided so many behind the scenes clips from their own phones which made me sooo happy because I was so in the moment the entire weekend that I barely had time to snap any pics.
To this day (I’m 6 months late writing this review), my friends still talk about how epic my wedding was and how every detail had so much intention behind it, which was all because of OHE!
They also helped stay within budget which was very important!
I recommend them completely, especially for destination brides!! -

Mandy and team at ONE HEART are incredible!! I never thought of having a wedding planner for my wedding but when the hotel we picked for our wedding, Almonds and Corals, recommended Mandy and I looked at ONE HEART's instagram I was sold. It is 1000% worth budgeting for this team to create the wedding of your dreams. I had no idea what style of wedding I wanted and Mandy, with her talent and creativity, has a session where she gets to know you as a couple and helps pull out your vision. It was amazing to see the colors, textures, style that ended up being our wedding and how much it symbolized us. They were also super organized and helped stay within our budget. The ideas we did have they supported and made them become reality. We were completely able to relax and let them take the lead on wedding day and it will be one of the best days of my life because of the stress they took away and the beyond beautiful wedding they created for us. Pure magic! I cannot recommend ONE HEART enough, they will make your wedding day all you dreamed of plus more! -

My husband and I are from NYC and wanted to plan a destination wedding in Costa Rica. We were referred to One heart for our wedding planning needs, and it’s no surprise why. Mandy and her team were on top of everything from the very beginning, and made planning hassle free, even from North America. They found us all of the best vendors to work with and planned everything down to the last detail so that we were able to enjoy our big day worry-free. They truly made our vision come to life, which is exactly what you want for your wedding day. Just keep in mind that most payments are done through wire transfers and not a lot of their vendors take PayPal or credit cards, so submitting payments via wire was more labor intensive than it otherwise would have been if more payment forms were accepted. -

Best Wedding Decision!!!
The best wedding decision we took was hiring One Heart. Mandy and her team are up to any challenge and made our dream wedding real. They took seriously every small detail we asked them, to bring to life our vision. Mandy is super creative and Sara knows all about transforming an event into an unforgettable experience. We enjoyed every meeting we had with both of them, making the process of planning our wedding an amazing journey! On the day of the wedding not only they got in charge of all the logistics, but they also took care of both of us, making us feel comfortable and relaxed. The best wedding planner in Costa Rica!
I found Mandy and the One Heart team through instagram and began interviewing her along with some other local planners. It was clear from the beginning how organized and efficient the team were. As we continued the process Mandy just „got us“ and offered design options and ideas that were in complete alignment with our vision. Her team kept all our vendor meetings organized, budgets, payments, etc. when the big day came- I was impressed with the team and how they kept everything running smoothly behind the scenes. I’m very detailed and the team brought all my details to life! They anticipated our needs on the day and all our guests complimented the one heart team and how amazing they are. I have worked in the wedding industry for 17 years (mostly in gown production), but have also spent time working weddings. I can honestly say this is one of the top vendors you will find! BOOK them! And your wedding will be pure magic. -

Since the first meeting with One Heart we immediately knew we wanted to work with them. The way there were so organized, knowledgeable and also super warm and kind was the perfect combination to plan our wedding. Communication was great throughout the whole process and even though we were planning our wedding from afar, the whole experience was super smooth and they made us feel very comfortable at all times.
The wedding day itself was more than we could ever imagine. We didn't have to worry about a single thing and we felt so relaxed and happy throughout the whole event. I would 1000% recommend them to everyone! -

Gave us the best galactic themed party!
We have worked with One Heart before, exactly 5 years ago, and it was a no brainer for us to contact them again for a Galactic themed party. We rented a full floor on the 17th floor in front of the national stadium and our party even got featured in all the pictures from that evening's soccer match. The blue, pink and purple hues definitely made the windows stand out. Every detail was incredibly well thought and carried on. The girls had everything handled, even prepared for the worst case scenario, luckily everything was smooth, or at least that's how we felt because they had everything ready and all the agenda went by as expected. All the guests left with a smile in their face, same as us and our little 1 year old baby. Thank you One Heart, we will definitely call you again for the next event in our family. -

Beyond our expectations.
One Heart Team made our dream personalize wedding a reality. From the beggining they made us feel so special. They got excited with us during the proccess and we loved their creativity and fine eye for details. They truly read us clearly (better than ourselves) since the beggining and were able to combine our personalities and materialize our love story at this magical event. On the wedding day, they were just on point with everything. We didn’t have to worry about anything, we trusted them and had so much fun. They helped us with a surprise for the groom, took such a good care of us (looks, hydration & hunger haha) and, of course, they were in charge that every supplier did their job excellent (and they did). We knew chosing our wedding planner would be one of the most important decision for our wedding, we knew a little bite about One Heart because some of our friends made their weddings with them and we already admired their unique work, but when we asked our friends for recomendations we realized they had to be our wedding planners.
The experience was THE BEST! They helped
us with every little detail. Mandy even helped us as Bride and groom to choose many things about our outfits. But what we loved the most was that they were capable to reflect our personalities in every detail of the wedding.
We couldn't believe how many messages we received the next day from our family and friends saying how wonderful the wedding was and how beautiful was the decoration.

Contratar a oneheart es contratar hadas madrinas, el concepto de nuestra boda era completamente atípico y aún así Mandy & su equipo lo supo entender. La sugerencia de proveedores fue todo de acuerdo a nuestro tema, nunca hubo nada que sobrepasara nuestro presupuesto e incluso si se podía reducir gastos (sin reducir calidad) se hacía.
Resultado? Una boda INCREÍBLE. Invitados que quedaron maravillados con cada detalle desde el recibimiento hasta la despedida.

The entire One Heart team did an incredible job turning our jungle fairytale dreams into a reality. They already knew a lot of the vendors we wanted to work with which made confirming/communicating with vendors much easier. Not only did they meet with us many times before the wedding, we were also in constant communication. The wedding was everything I could have dreamed of and more and all of the wedding coordinators were running around all day making sure everything was taken care of. We had a excellent experience with one heart planning our wedding . We had to change the dates 3 times due to the pandemic and Mandy and her team were so accommodating with the process . It dragged out over 2 years but in the end thanks to our relationship with Mandy and the whole one heart team it was worth the wait . They worked great with the hotel and nothing was problem. Mandy worked tirelessly with other vendors and was excellent with communication and understanding . Our wedding was a huge success and everyone who attended it was complementary how beautiful it was and every little detail that made it possible. I truly believe it was all because off Mandy her professionalism and her team that made our day so Special and for that we ate eternally grateful. We cannot recommend One heart enough if your planning a wedding or event. You guys are the best ❤️🙏 Pura Vida .

First of all, this review goes with all the sincerity in the world and with a heart full of gratitude to Mandy, Sarita and their entire team. I was a little scared because I felt that planning a wedding could be very overwhelming, but since we had the first meetings with One heart they made us feel confident and we were able to explain to them what type of wedding we wanted, something that reflected our style, that was unique And different from traditional weddings, Mandy was able to visualize all our ideas and make them come true, the supplier recommendations were 100% correct with what we were looking for and the result was excellent.
On the wedding day, I felt super calm because I knew that the One Heart girls had everything under control, I enjoyed every moment of the day without stress and without worries, Mandy and Sarita took great pains to attend to the guests, to see that they were comfortable and had everything they needed. With me they were always attentive to my dress, my accessories and to help me with everything so that I felt like the most beautiful woman in the world that day.
One Heart's coordination with all providers was great, there was no problem and we would absolutely recommend them all for their professionalism.

So this is long but if you read nothing else, just know that Mandy is worth her weight in gold and her team as well.
My husband and I live in the US, and my husband is originally from Costa Rica, his family is in Costa Rica, and we vacation in Playa Hermosa every year so we knew this was where we wanted to get married. We had no idea the challenges we would face or how difficult it would end up being planning from so far away, so we went into this thinking we would do most of the planning on our own and request the One Heart package that is the last few months of planning just to ensure everything went smoothly. From the beginning I loved the One Heart aesthetic of the other weddings shown, the gorgeous flowers, the whimsical nature, and the beautiful calligraphy and knew it was the exact feel I wanted for my wedding. The first time we “met” Mandy via Skype, we realized that the last 3 months would not be enough and we would be working together start to finish.
Mandy helped us from the ground up and went above and beyond from the very beginning. She visited venues for us, traveling to Playa Hermosa from San Jose, and Skype-ing us and WhatsApp messaging us the entire time, saving us a trip worth thousands. We ending up picking our venue without ever visiting, and it was actually the original venue I wanted which we were only able to get because of Mandy’s amazing negotiating skills.
Next is the vendors. She has connections to some of the most talented and kind vendors which we got to meet during our planning trip about 5 months before our wedding. We got to get to know our potential florists, cake baker, DJ, and videographer, and got to pick out tables, chairs, place settings, and linens in person. I even got to have a trial with my hair and makeup artist – this made my wedding day much more comfortable and at ease. Absolutely none of this would have been possible had we tried to do this on our own.
During the planning process, we couldn’t have felt any more cared for. It was as if we were her only clients the entire time (even after the wedding!). Mandy was always available via WhatsApp to entertain our crazy requests and questions, and our conversations were always personable and fun. We had so very many questions and changes that we made and each question and request was handled perfectly. There were also some challenges along the way and Mandy just made things happen like a pro.
One of the things I am most grateful for is her creativity. Mandy designed our save the dates, and invitations and I just cannot believe how unique and beautiful they came out. They spoke to my style in such an individual way and really helped shape the wedding and the theme. She also was able to get creative with our budget, coming up with solutions that worked with both us and our vendors.
The day of the wedding… First and foremost, I had very little idea of what my wedding was going to look like besides the small bit I had communicated with the florist and little details we had all discussed. But the day of, I was floored. Every moment I had to try to breath in to remember how lovely and perfect everything turned out. It was as though she just understood my vision and worked with everyone else to make it happen and turned our venue into a magical fairytale. The day ended up going off without a hitch (that I knew of at least). Mandy and her team were so attentive, checking on us while we were getting ready, making sure the ceremony went perfectly, guiding us through everything with ease. They even made sure we got food and a glass of wine from cocktail hour during pictures, and fixed my melting makeup approximately 3-4 times.
I really cannot say enough to convey how wonderful it was working with One Heart for our wedding, how lovely and hard working Mandy and her team are, and how important she has become to us. Along this journey, we not only planned a wedding, but also made a lovely friend.

LA MEJOR! Así de simple se puede describir a Mandy (One Heart Bodas y Eventos) como Wedding Planner.
De las mejores decisiones que tomamos mi esposa y yo a la hora de casarnos fue el momento que decidimos contratar los servicios de Mandy.
Desde el momento que la conocimos, vimos el nivel de profesionalismo y de detalle con el que realiza su trabajo. Ella busca la manera que todo lo que vaya a estar involucrado en el evento, tenga el sello de la pareja, que reflejen los gustos y particularidades de ambos. Y lo principal que ella busca es que el día de la boda, uno simplemente disfrute de el día sin tener que pensar en ninguna otra cosa más que disfrutar el momento.
El dominio de Mandy respecto a todos los detalles que hay que tener en cuenta a la hora de realizar un evento como un matrimonio es simplemente increíble, que honestamente a uno se le pueden escapar miles de detallitos que ella los tiene contemplados.
One Heart Bodas y Eventos trae a la mesa adicionalmente una impresionante cartera de proveedores de gran calidad y confianza, que como pareja, nos dio gran tranquilidad de saber que ya han trabajado con ella, porque uno normalmente no conoce de este tipo de proveedores, y aventurarse con alguno sin tener referencia o certeza que van a hacer un buen trabajo, se puede volver algo complicado seleccionar uno, dado que hay mucha oferta en el mercado y llegar a conocer personalmente a todos para ver su trabajo, se puede volver algo muy complicado.
No hay espacio de duda para saber que Mandy trabaja con un grupo de proveedores excepcionales. Adicionando que ella trabaja de la mano con uno y dichos proveedores para convertir las expectativas de boda de uno como pareja en realidad.
También a destacar está el servicio de diseño gráfico y lettering que Mandy ofrece, en el cual ella se encarga de todo lo que son invitaciones, papelería y rotulación para el evento. Nos encantó su trabajo.
Quedamos totalmente agradecidos con Mandy y su equipo de trabajo (Sara y María José) por el atención de detalle, de servicio planeación y de ejecución el día de la boda. Como mencioné anteriormente, uno como pareja, sencillamente se dedica a disfrutar el día, no se tiene que preocupar por nada, dado que ella y su equipo están ahí para resolver cualquier eventualidad. Y así fue el día, mi esposa y yo simplemente disfrutamos de lo que fue el mejor día de nuestras vidas.
