Mandi will make your wedding hair dreams come true!

I found Mandi through some searching and googling for a hairstylist for my Amelia Island wedding and I’m SO glad I did!! I was immediately drawn to her talent on instagram and her care for her clients (all those client selfies are so fun! Of course we had to take one too!!). She’s professional and kind, and blew me away with her skills! I had a specific up-do I wanted and she nailed it! Mandi also did my sisters’ and mom’s hair and I loved every single style! My own hair felt so secure and held the ENTIRE day, even after spinning and running for portraits and dancing the night away!! You need Mandi at your wedding too!

Loved Mandi

I couldn’t have asked for a better hair stylist for my wedding! Not only did Mandi do an updo for my ceremony, but she also did another style for my reception! I loved my hair so so much! All of my bridesmaids also looked so beautiful thanks to Mandi! So thankful for her!!!

Mandi is the absolute best! She was so easy to work with and made all of our hair look beautiful. She spent the time to make sure I was 100% happy at the trial and on the day of. She's also incredibly sweet and we had so much fun with her! I highly recommend her and am so thankful!

Beautiful work and wonderful stylist!

Mandi is the best! I showed her a photo of what I wanted for wedding hair and she did it. I got so many compliments. All of my bridesmaids loved their hairstyles too. Mandi is quick but very attentive to detail. Communicating with her leading up to the wedding was a breeze. Highly recommend! ❤️

The best wedding hair stylist. Ever.

Mandi is THE BEST! I was in a panic close to the wedding about my hair and she made all of my dreams come true!! Not to mention, my bridesmaids all looking incredible! Flawless Wedding Day Hair

I am so tremendously blessed to have met Mandi! She is such a kind and compassionate spirit, and she is so talented at all things hair! I have very thick, curly hair (I'm Ethiopian, so picture VERY thick hair) and Mandi worked magic on my hair! She flat ironed my hair, curled it, and then we tried two different up-dos before settling on a beautiful low bun.

On my wedding day, my mom, sister, God-mother and I came by the salon at 8 AM, our scheduled time to have our hair done, and I found a coffee waiting for me. Seriously, she's just so thoughtful and sweet. Even though Mandi had another wedding to head to immediately after our session, she took the time to stop by the coffee shop and ensure that I was properly caffeinated on my big day. So thoughtful!

Hours after we had left the salon, I received a text from Mandi asking me how my hair was holding up, and if she should swing by our venue and do a touch up before the reception! This blew me away! We didn't need to do a touch up because my hair stayed in place, thanks to Mandi's flawless styling! I was so impressed by this, because our ceremony was outside by the beach and there was quite a lot of wind, but Mandi's styling was so perfect that everything stayed in place.

Beyond this, it was such an honor to get to know Mandi and to get to listen to her story. The day I left her salon, I left with two things. Stunning hair, that's for sure. But I also left the salon feeling encouraged and filled with hope. Thank you Mandi, for giving me the encouragement I didn't know I needed, and for making my hair so beautiful on my wedding day! I just can't thank you enough!

Mandi was great!

It was definitely hard planning the wedding from so far away (I live in DC, but got married in Gainesville, FL), but Mandi was great to work with throughout the process!

The hair trial, for me, was essential. I have baby fine, straight hair that I feel can be difficult to work with because it just wants to go back to being straight and flat. Mandi was so welcoming and flexible - she really put me at ease. In the trial, she tried multiple looks for me and my mom. I was pretty set on the up-do from the beginning, but my mom was on the fence, so seeing the other options - which are a little more like what she is used to seeing me do with my hair - was tremendously helpful and brought her around to my way of thinking!

I really appreciate that Mandi took my vague idea and made me look truly stunning! I told my (now) wife that she’s going to have to learn how to braid my hair like that because it looked AMAZING and I want to do my hair like that next time I have a fancy event to attend. I feel like I looked older (in a good, sophisticated way), and it was a relief to not have to worry about my hair falling in my face, or blowing around.

Perfect hair for a perfect day!

Mandi did such an incredible job for my bridesmaids, mom, & I! Everyone’s hair looked absolutely amazing, and she has such great ideas for braids and twists to make hair look even more beautiful. I also bought hair extensions and she took the time to put them in and curl them. Thank you Mandi for making me look so beautiful on my wedding day :)

Mandi came to my destination wedding in the Bahamas and did a FABULOUS job with my hair and my guest's hair. She was so meticulous with every detail and is certainly a pro. I recommend her to every bride I know! My guests raved about how much they loved their styles. Mandi is the best in the business and she books up fast and far in advance so don't hesitate! I hired Mandi to do my hair for my wedding, and it was one of the best decisions I made! I actually discovered Mandi at a bridal expo. I feel very lucky that I did! She was very professional and worked with me to help plan a time for our hair trial. As soon as the trial was over, I paid her in full knowing that I needed her to be the one to do my wedding hair! Not only did she answers all of my questions and concerns along the way.. she also offered her own opinions and expert advice until I was completely satisfied. I've never received so many compliments on my hair! She also did 7 of my bridesmaids hair and finished with time to spare. Everyone looked absolutely stunning. She was able to tweak everyone's style a little to make sure it fit with their face shape and their hair length. While we were putting my hair up I told her it was hers to make how she wanted, and we ended up cutting a few of the pieces in front of my face to make it lay better. That is serious customer service. Hire her, she is worth every penny!

Mandi is amazing! She did hair for me, 4 bridesmaids and my mom for my wedding, and everyone's hair was stunning. My hair was half up half down, the bridesmaids decided to all do the same style based on a mix of two picutres they had, and my mom's hair was short and down. At my trial, I decided to do something with all of my hair to the side because I was worried about the curls falling by the end of the night. Last minute, on the day of my wedding, I decided to have my hair half up, half down. The curls stayed from 11am when Mandi did my hair until the end of the night! I was so thrilled with everyone's hair, and Mandi was a joy to work with. I would use Mandi again, and I'd definitely recommend her for anyone's wedding!

Mandy was a sweetheart! She was very accommodating and worked me in last minute around her personal schedule to fit me in:) She was very talented and such a pleasure to be around! I felt absolutely beautiful on my wedding day thanks to Mandi! I felt like a princess haha My hair stayed put ALL night! She also did an amazin job on my mom's hair and my bridesmaids. I had an updo, my mom had half up, and my bridesmaids had a mixture of half up and just down. She did an amazing job on everyone. She is also so sweet and responsive. Prices for wedding hair are a little pricey but well worth the money! I would certainly book Mandi for my wedding day all over again!

Mandi is absolutely wonderful!! I did a lot of research when it came to hair and make up for my wedding and I can honestly say I couldn't have picked better. After never really liking how my hair has turned out in past weddings, I was very nervous about my wedding hair. I found Mandi online and reached out to her because every picture I saw of her work I was blown away. I ended up booking both her and Jill Stonier and in October 2016 I had my hair and make up trial. This was the first time that I met Mandi and she is just the sweetest. She made me feel very relaxed and I had a ton of fun getting to know her during my trial. I was absolutely in LOVE with my hair and it was exactly what I was picturing when I thought of my wedding hair with my veil. I got married on December 18, 2016 and when the morning of my wedding came I was very excited for them both to arrive at my hotel. The entire morning was so relaxing and my bridesmaids and I absolutely loved our experience with Mandi. My hair turned out perfectly and it stayed in all night which usually never happens with my hair either!!! I could go on and on about how much I recommend Mandi because she was just a joy to work with and is so beyond talented.

Mandi, with Once Upon a Stylist, was an absolute pleasure to work with! She was incredibly quick with responding to emails with my questions and very flexible with setting my trial appointment time as I was an out of town Bride and only in Jacksonville for a short period of time. I was able to explain what I wanted and she executed it with absolute perfection! I could not have been more in love with my hair on my wedding day and it held the whole entire night in perfect condition. She was so accommodating while we were getting ready, suggested an amazing playlist, and handled 14 women's hair like a true Pro! Mandi is the best!! She loves what she does and is so professional with it but so friendly at the same time. I literally just showed her a picture from Pinterest of the hair style that I liked the most and in the trial in less than 30 minutes made it happen and even better than the picture! She is so quick with doing amazing hair and making sure that you love it. I was the typical girl that say "my hair never holds a curl" and she proved me wrong! My hair held the entire night and even into the next day. If you want the best, go with Mandi at Once Upon a Stylist, you will not regret it!

Where do I begin! Mandi was a life saver for my wedding! I was so unsure of what I wanted and Mandi not only did a great job but she exceeded my expectations! I have straight hair and I wanted curls for my wedding, I told Mandi that curls never stay long so I asked if she could come back right before my reception to touch up my hair and also change my hairstyle a bit. Not only did my curls stay through my ceremony but stayed the entire night! I look at my wedding photos and cannot believe my hair stayed put even through all the dancing and being outside for photos. She does amazing work and she is so sweet! I recommend her to every bride! she did updo's for the moms and they looked beautiful! She does great work and I'm so happy she was available for my special day! Don't go to anyone else, book Mandi!! You won't regret it

Mandi was amazing! She came in, worked SUPER quickly, and managed to make our hair look gorgeous. Mandi is so sweet to work with and defiantly loves the work that she does! She took an idea of what I wanted and turned into my dream hair on my wedding day. Mandy is awesome! Went out of her way to accommodate us when we had to postpone our wedding. Opened her beautiful salon to our large bridal party and make up artist team. She did beautiful work on everyone's hair and I was very happy with the results of my hair and the fact that it stayed all day in a humid climate when it typically falls flat within minutes! I would highly recommend her to anyone!

I spent months trying to figure out exactly how I wanted to wear my hair for my big day, and it took Mandi literally seconds to pin down the perfect look for me. She is absolutely incredible at her job and curls hair with such ease, that she probably deserves a gold medal. It also doesn't hurt that she is such a sweet person and so attentive to the needs of each member of your bridal party. I got married in St. Augustine in July and my hair maintained perfection throughout the day. Mandi is fabulous and I could not recommended her anymore!

I must have read reviews on dozens of hair stylists. I had a destination wedding and wasn't very familiar with St. Augustine vendors. My wedding coordinator recommend a certain hair stylist (whom I didn't go with) who had fantastic reviews. I looked through her website and honestly I was completely underwhelmed by the pictures I was seeing. So I asked my coordinator for another recommendation, again completely underwhelmed by these hairstylists. They all had 5 star reviews but I believe pictures speak for themselves. I combed through tons of different hair stylists in the St. Augustine/Jacksonville area. I read every review, all of these girls gushing about their hair stylists and seeing pictures of their hair. Again always underwhelmed. I became frustrated and finally asked my makeup artist, Jill Stonier, for a recommendation. Jill btw is absolutely amazing if you are looking for a quality/ amazing makeup artist. Jill recommended her business partner/hair counterpart Mandi from once upon a stylist. I was paying for my wedding on my own so I was trying to save money where I could. I saw Mandi's prices, which were a little bit higher than many of the other hair stylists. I considered for a second going with someone cheaper. Then I saw her work online and I immediately recognized why she was a little more expensive, it was because she was totally worth every penny. Her work was on a completely different level than anyone else. You know how when you go to a salon and they ask you do you want a junior level stylist, an advanced stylist or a master stylists (at least they do at aveda). Well she is like that. She may cost a little more but she is the master and she makes every other hair stylist look like a junior level hair stylist. I looked at her website and fell in love with every picture. Everyone looked completely amazing after she was done. I cannot say enough good things about Jill and Mandi. They are absolutely amazing in every way. Thank you Mandi for everything

Mandi works magic! She can bring to life any style your looking for, and make it look even better than you imagined it! PRE-WEDDING HAIR TRIAL:Mandi is so sweet and talented! I went in with a picture of my wedding dress and looks for my hair that I knew I DIDN'T want, since I couldn't find anything online that I loved to bring to her. We played around with ideas, and she came up with the perfect updo that is so me and is perfect for the look I was going for with my dress. POST WEDDING REVIEW: Mandi is one of a kind when it comes to doing hair. When I saw her for the first time about doing my wedding day hairstyle I didn’t go in knowing exactly what I wanted, only what I DIDN’T want/like. We worked together and came up with a stunning hairstyle that was perfect and better than what I could have imagined. I had to put my dress on over my head, I literally danced ALL night long at our reception, had a veil fastened into my hairstyle and removed, and I NEVER had to respray hairspray, fix any bobbypins that were coming out, or repin loose curls. She did just a good a job on my three bridesmaids. Their hair stayed perfect all night long through dancing all night too! I wish I lived in the area because I would go to Mandi for all things hair related for SURE. She is also so sweet and easy to talk to when she’s working her magic on you. I know it can be scary choosing someone to do your hair on your wedding day, but you can’t go wrong with Mandi. She will collaborate with you so you get the EXACT look you want. Mandi is incredible to work with. She's such a rock star and so much fun to be around. Mandi was incredible! She handled a bridal party of 8 bridesmaids, 1, jr bridesmaid, 2 moms, 2 flower girls and a Bride....all with gorgeous hair, on schedule, by herself!!!!!! Everyone was SO happy their hair. On the day of, I strayed from what Mandi and I decided on at my pre-wedding trial...and didn't like it. I love Mandi! I wanted a vintage hairstyle with finger waves for my wedding and it's super hard to find someone who knows how to do them and my wedding planner recommended that I go to Mandi. Mandi was super responsive from the first time I emailed her and assured me that she'd be able to do the style and that we would have how ever many trials it took to get it right, and that she would get it right, and she did! As one of my bridesmaids said when she was watching Mandi "it's like you know exactly where each piece of hair should go" and she does! She works with incredible efficiency and your hair stays in place all day long. I just love working with her and she's so positive! I found Mandi through my DJ. I called and and set up an appointment to get a trial run. I showed her what I wanted and she did it right there for the trial run. It was great. I had gotten my hair highlighted a few months back at Aveda and I didn't like it. In fact, I had a few cuts last year that I hated and literally cried after. It was horrible. I talked to Mandi about my experiences. I told her that it's really hard for me to trust hairdressers now. When I went to Aveda, they had given me what i call striper stripes (zebra stripes). I of course wanted to get this fixed before my big day. I told her that I wanted her to fix this. I came in two weeks before the big day and she did amazing. She fixed up the stripes throughout my hair, trimmed it up (not too much because I needed it long). But I was very pleased with her work. The day of the wedding, she was nothing less than amazing. She got there on time and was ready to work. She works fast, but is great at what she does. She completed some of the girls (some opted not to get hair done) and worked on me. She had let me borrow some hair extension to give me more "fluff". At the start of my day, I was a wreck (crying) due to my photographer emailing me the night before (I didn't read it till the morning of my wedding) saying that he wasn't going to stay the entire time and was replacing himself with someone else. Needless to say dealing with that on my wedding day was a nightmare. As soon as she saw something was wrong, she was fixing it. The Dj also worked with this photographer. She was on the phone with the DJ making things happen. About an hour later I got a call from the photographer saying he would stay the entire time. She is truly amazing. She not only looks out for your hair, but your whole day. You can really tell that this is something that she loves and enjoys doing. She was very professional and respectful. I would absolutely use her again. I can't wait to go get my hair done again with her!

I checked out many vendors before I was able to find Mandy and none came close to providing her level of service. Mandy was available anytime via text or phone to answer questions or share thoughts on pictures. She is very personable and great to work with. Only downside to my hair which wasn’t her fault was that right after the ceremony my curls had fallen. That’s what I get for doing an outdoor wedding in summer :) Save yourself some time and check Mandy out first, I doubt you’ll go anywhere else! Remember, your wedding day only happens once and you pay for what you get. Don’t sacrifice your piece of mind to save a little bit of money.

We all imagine what our wedding day will be. We dream of getting ready with friends, our dress, walking down the isle and the first dance.
Well, Mandi has the getting ready part down!! She was so fun, confident, thorough and efficient. Mandi went above and beyond. A few days before the wedding I expressed a small change I wanted to make to my hairstyle. Mandi used her own personal hair extensions, dyed them to match my hair (from a photo I sent) and it was absolutely perfect!

Selecting Mandi from Once Upon A Stylist was SMART on my part! I initially chose her because she was priced fairly, responded very quickly, and seemed like an easy person to work with in general. She actually exceeded my expectations on the day of my wedding! I have very long, very thick hair and my heart was set on having it half up, half down, although I feared that the curls would flatten half way through the reception. Her "fairy dust" & hair spray, worked wonders and my hair was absolutely perfect the entire time. Now, you may think I'm joking, but she really does use some sort of fairy dust. I loved Mandi at Once Upon a Stylist...it was not easy finding a wedding hair stylist who truly understood what I wanted. She was the third place we went. My hair looked so amazing.....she took tons of time to listen - and really understand what looked great on me. I wanted a total Romantic look - and got it!! Hurricane Charley showed up as an uninvited guest on my wedding day. In spite of that, Amanda was prompt, professional and just perfect! I had no idea what I really wanted done to my hair as I had not had time to do a consult prior. My hair is also very straight and doesn't always like to stay up in a "do". Amanda tackled my hair and made it just gorgeous! Sure I had what seemed like a thousand bobby pins in my hair, but all anyone could see was perfect wedding day hair. Even though I was stressing over the storm that was arriving, I did not need to worry about how I was going to look for my groom. Amanda did fantastic work and also provided an ear for me to vent and get calm during such a stressful day. I would recommend her over and over again. My husband, Shawn, and I got married in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 3, 2010. As I am sure anyone reading this knows that planning a wedding comes with a list of a billion things to think about and one of the biggest things to consider is...well, US!

I grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and from years of weddings before my own, I knew that I would be asking Mandi to do my hair. As soon as I had my wedding date, I called her up and she booked a flight from Jacksonville, Florida to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to be a part of this huge day. Most brides would usually feel compelled to invest a lot of time considering hair styles and make-up and nail color, etc. Not me. I had known Mandi for years and it honestly never occurred to me to be concerned about it. When the morning of my wedding came I showed her my dress and told her she could do whatever she wanted with my hair. She worked that long-super-thick-mass-of-Asian-hair into an Up-do that was the perfect complement to my dress! And not only did it look awesome but it held up through the next 13 hours worth of pictures, dancing, hugging, more dancing, and a lot of getting bounced around.

Seriously, this woman has a heart of gold and will absolutely work with you to make your day exactly what you in-vision it to be.

course it was an easy pick on who would do my hair plus my 9 bridesmaids. She was fabulous as always. My bridal party loved her and she added to all the fun we had that day getting ready.

I absolutely loved what Amanda did with my hair. When I went for my trial, I took a photo with me of a style I really wanted, but wasn't sure because my hair was so fine. She did an awesome job with it then and an even better one on my wedding day! Everyone said that I looked like Cinderella, which is what I was going for! Thank you so much Amanda! I will definitely be referring you to everyone I know!

I got married in May and Mandi was so flexible with helping me figure out my day. We did two trial runs a few weeks before the wedding to find what style I liked because I was a lost bride. On the day of the wedding she came early and my hair was done beautifully in a blink of an eye! She is so friendly and bubbly, and she makes you super calm on such a big day! I would definitely recommend her!

Mandi is great! She is super fast and does a really great job. She got exactly what I wanted, even when I couldn't really explain it very well - this was also true for my bridesmaids. She was very easy to work with.
