Julie was fantastic. From the start we really enjoyed talking to her. She was professional and to the point, yet still very kind and personal. She did a fantastic job with our ceremony and created a great script based on our preferences (which was such a fun part of the process). Julie officiated our wedding on 10/24/25 at the Whiskey Factory in Detroit. Prior to, I had a one on one phone call with her where she was very open and honest, applying no pressure to hire her as she truly wanted us to find the best fit. We met up for coffee where she guided us in picking each part of our custom ceremony. Julie was professional, provided suggestions from her experience, and had an easy going energy. A Seamless Day
We worked with Julie from On the Spot Knot as our officiant and day-of planner. Julie is incredible! She was very accessible prior to the wedding and answered any questions we had promptly. She provided us with some helpful tips and recommendations (e.g., our amazing DJ, my very talented hair and makeup salon) as well as providing forms to fill out to ensure the day went smoothly. Regarding the officiating, Julie provided us with some sample ceremonies and allowed us to modify them to reflect how we wanted our ceremony to go. She was very organized and had all the materials needed to ensure the legal aspects of the marriage were taken care of. She filed our certificate and provided us with a copy of our ceremony. Regarding the planning, we had a phone call a few weeks before the wedding to make sure we had everything in order. She made sure to confirm with all vendors and addressed any issues that popped up the day of, so I did not have to. She arrived early to the venue and was instrumental in making sure the set up was done on time. The reception was beautiful. The entire evening went by seamlessly thanks to her organization and coordination. She made sure that we were able to get cleaned up and out of the venue on time. I am so grateful to Julie for her help throughout our wedding process. She is an invaluable resource with loads of knowledge, incredibly kind, and such a pleasure to work with! Thank you, Julie!

This was a second wedding for both, and as a mature couple, we wanted our ceremony to reflect the depth of our relationship. After meeting with Julie, we knew she was the perfect officiant, even though we could have used another at no extra cost provided by our venue. A seamless stress-free wedding experience!
Julie from On The Spot Knot was an amazing officiant and day-of coordinator for our wedding! When we contracted her we were able to have a sit down meeting and talk through what we wanted our ceremony to be - it was a huge relief to have someone help us put together something that we felt reflected us as a couple. As the wedding day approached, Julie helped coordinate with vendors and helped organize details of the wedding day. She stayed in communication throughout the process. On the day-of the wedding, Julie was absolutely indispensable, helping set up details and helping to gather items at the end of the night. I don't think we could have done it without her and she helped make the day a seamless and enjoyable day for us! Would recommend her again in a heartbeat.

Working with Julie couldn't have been easier. We decided to go with her longer ceremony option which she personalized fully to exactly what we wanted.
Even mid-pandemic, we found a way to last min transfer from an in-person meeting to over zoom when there was a covid exposure. She really got to know us as a couple, and what we were looking for in our ceremony. She made sure our vows were about the same length without us seeing each other's before the ceremony which was a relief.
When we wanted to make last min changes, she was so on top of it and I knew that with her help the ceremony was something that I didn't need to worry about.
I would definitely recommend her for other ceremonies because of how affordable she was for such a high quality service. By the end, there wasn't a single dry eye in the room.

Fun AND Professional Officiants!
Julie and Deb were exactly what the Mrs and I needed for a great wedding! They are fantastic communicators who responded to any questions quickly and just reached out from time to time. When it came to planning, Julie and Deb listened to any ideas and requests we had. Then, gave us TONS of options to choose from (or you can always go custom). We were aiming for something a bit more funny and they were all in! As time went on and we got closer to the ceremony, Julie and Deb sent out reminders/tips and tricks that were helpful. I was worried we would not get an appointment for our marriage license in time, but Julie was able to talk me down from that ledge! On the big day, Deb was prepared and ready to roll. Positive attitude the whole way - even when it was 90 degrees out. I'm very glad we chose On The Spot Knot and would recommend them to anyone!

Julie is very kind, funny and relatable, and that really helped put our nerves at ease as we went through what otherwise could have been a stressful experience. My wife and I received many compliments about how professional Julie was, as well as how meaningful and memorable our ceremony was. I thought Julie's pricing was very reasonable, and she even went the extra mile by mailing in our marriage license for us once the ceremony had concluded. Rob was an amazing officiant
Rob and Julie were amazing to work with. I’m thankful I was able to book them a few months before the wedding without difficultly. Rob was very professional, caring, and to the point. We were able to assist with putting together the ceremony vows and edit whatever we wanted. We had an issue with our marriage license and I was able to communicate with both Rob and Julie to get the issue fixed prior to our wedding. They both were quick to respond to a text or email. Julie and her team were amazing from start to finish! She worked directly with us to tailor our ceremony to our style and made it one of a kind. She was easy to talk with and very professional throughout the whole process. She not only officiated our wedding, she was our day of event coordinator, too. That was truly appreciated. It was wonderful to be able to relax and really enjoy my day and know she was there making sure everything was going smoothly and we were staying on schedule. Julie was absolutely perfect and we are so glad we chose to work with her for our wedding ceremony! We met up with her many months before the wedding and we literally customized everything for the ceremony; we picked all of the readings, verses, everything! Then, she took it home and wrote our entire ceremony (minus our vows, which we wrote ourselves). Julie was always VERY responsive during the entire process. She was at our rehearsal a few days before the wedding, which was amazing and made my husband and myself feel much more comfortable about the big day. On the wedding day, she was prepared and had everything ready to go; you can definitely tell she is a pro at this and knows her stuff! I would recommend her to anyone and everyone looking for an officiant. She was a perfect choice, and very reasonable in cost. We loved her! Being able to customize our ceremony and have it be personal to us was very important, and she was able to make that happen. Thank you, Julie!

Stress-free intimate ceremony in Detroit
My wife and I asked a lot from Julie and she delivered. When we first contacted her just about the only detail we'd settled on a was our date. Heck, I hadn't even moved to the state yet! Julie was patient, considerate, and professional in assisting us through our whole wedding process. We were particularly impressed by her creativity and thoughtfulness helping us craft a custom ceremony as well as her ability to decorate on a budget. (The intimate 12-seat room looked fabulous on a two-figure invoice!)

Our family officiant!
My husband and I booked Julie as our officiant on a recommendation from my brother and sister-in-law. They were very happy with her services, so we reached out to her in regards to a quick elopement ceremony. I am so glad we did! Julie is amazing - she is easy to work with and very flexible. We opted for a humorous ceremony, with a nerdy line thrown in (It's dangerous to go alone! Take this! line from The Legend of Zelda) Our ceremony was perfect! We were so satisfied with her ceremony, that we recently (12/15/18) had her do our vow renewal ceremony as well. The changes she made to our original vows were just as wonderful as the original. From that initial meeting until the day of our wedding we were in constant communication with Julie. She has the passion and experience to make the day go smoothly. Julie married Roibeard and myself on October 16th, 2016. From our first meeting we knew that we had chosen a very kind and caring person as our officiant. She is so professional, organized, and just a joy to be around. We had a very low-key wedding, but she sat down and worked through every detail with us to help make it as special and unique as we wanted. She really tries to get a feel for you as a couple. She also tries to understand what direction to take for your individual ceremony needs. My husband is Irish and we wanted to have a traditional Irish Knot Tying (or hand fasting) as a part of our ceremony. She found a wonderful reading for the hand fasting and made it happen. We also wanted our 14-month old son to walk the rings down the aisle – Julie said no problem at all, that we could make that work. On the day of the ceremony it was raining, ceremony decorations had gone missing, and the groom was severely stressed. Julie remained calm and professional the entire time. She even helped my husband (who has little experience with formal events) with his boutonnière. Definitely above and beyond. Once I arrived (20 minutes late with a sick baby) she reassured me that everything would be fine. She helped to put our stressed minds at ease and remind us of the reason that we were there - for each other. If you’re in the Metro-Detroit area I would definitely recommend Julie of On The Spot Knot for your wedding.

Julie was great!! My fiancé and I are very funny people and wanted a ceremony that was quick and funny and that's what we got. Our families loved all the jokes that were put into our ceremony and especially or jack in the box (instead of a sand or candle part). Would definitely recommend to other couples!

Julie went over and beyond what we were expecting from an officiant. My Wife and I were in need of just a small ceremony and signing of the license. Julie made this extremely personable, and even suggested a perfect place in Southfield. When my wife and I plan our traditional ceremony in the next couple years, we will have no problem choosing Julie for our vow renewals. We recommend her completely!

Julie was super nice right from the first meeting. My husband and I both felt comfortable with her and she was patient and willing to work with us to craft our slightly unconventional ceremony (we did a Lego unity thing I had seen online). Some officiants wanted to limit the number of revisions, force you to stick to their script, charge extra for unity elements, or wouldn't even provide sample wording before you booked with them. Julie didn't do any of that, everything was up front and she always responded in a timely manner. She was professional and punctual, which is very important! Everyone, even my mom's super-religious friends, said how beautiful the ceremony was and we couldn't have been happier. :-D

Julie married Justin and I on New Years Eve. She is amazing, she made our vision of our ceremony come to life!! She comes to the original meeting beyond organized and prepared and takes the time to listen to what you want and your story as a couple and then comes up with an AMAZING ceremony that tells your story as a couple. I was told by people in attendance she had you in tears one min then had you laughing the next and agreeing to everything she said. She delivered the cermony beautifully my guests said and we have to agree and made it feel like it was only us up there. I highly, highly recommend Julie, she will not leave you disappointed.

I highly recommend Julie to be the officiant for you wedding. She was amazing right for the get go very patient and understanding. In our first meeting with Julie she provided us a packet with different verbiage for each part of the wedding ceremony. We took the packet home and revised it all we took parts from on section and added it to another, we added in our own vows. When going through the changes with Julie she was happy to make the changes did not get mad or offended at all. My husband is catholic and his parents are strong practice catholics, I am not. Julie offered suggestions to add to have more of the tridational catholic ceremony. We decided not to do that but we had that option. The best thing about Julie is she was a great support and great for guidance especially with the rehearsal. She was patient in explaining any questions I had and I felt very comfortable coming to her with questions. The best thing about Julie she is amazing with words many times I cam to her and told her what I wanted to say and she changed the words and made it sound beatiful. She was very easy to contact i would text her or call her and she would get right back to me or send me a text and tell me she would call later because she was in a meeting. Her power went out when she was working on my vows and kept me posted of why she did not have them to at the time she said she would. This was helpful and amanzing. She did a great job you will not be sorry I promise.

Julie was a perfect fit for my day. I interviewed some other officiants but as soon as I spoke with her I felt a connection, meeting with her only made me more confident that this was the person who was forever supposed to be a part of my day. Julie took the time to get to know my fiancé (now husband) and tailored a ceremony that fit not only us as a couple, but our vision for the day. Julie is not only my officiant who I am so grateful for, but she is now a friend who I feel was put on my path to build memories with my family.
