  Phenomenal!

  Heather is AMAZING!! She as a person is so nice and very helpful, we felt so comfortable to work with her! She gives directions very well, she listens to what YOU want and helps make it a reality. Super easy to work with, wouldn't want anyone else to take our photos! Can't wait to work together again! Thank you so much!

  Top tier photographer

  Heather has been amazing to work with from the beginning. From the first consultation to our big event, she was extremely dedicated to making sure we were nothing but satisfied. My husband and I are not crazy about taking photos and have always thought professional photos weren’t necessary but knew we would need a photographer; Heather changed that for us!! She made us feel extremely comfortable and work through our awkwardness in our engagement photos (which came out amazing). We were so blessed to be able to work with Heather three different times - our engagement shoot, our elopement, and then our wedding reception. Heather captured the most special moments and I can’t emphasize enough how much you must book her!! She is the real deal. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to have Heather as our photographer.

  An amazing photographer and experience!

  Heather is amazing!! She was so warm and friendly from our very first call and made us feel so comfortable. Her professionalism shone through in every interaction, but her passion made sure it never felt like she was just doing her job.
  The day we did our engagement shoot, it was absolutely freezing and we were right on the water. Heather never complained once about the weather, and she made the situation work to our advantage! I hate having my photo taken, and while I was uncomfortable at first, Heather was very patient and soon I felt completely normal. She was able to capture our personalities so well and get amazing shots while never making us feel like she intruded.
  We loved working with her so much, we wanted to book her for our wedding before we even saw the final shots from the engagement shoot! After seeing the final edits, we knew we had made the right choice. Heather sat with us on a zoom call to go through her top choices from the engagement shoot to get our reactions and feedback, so she can tailor her work for the wedding day to make sure she captures what we want and how we want it.

  There is truly no better photographer than Heather. From our booking, to our engagement session, right down to the last seconds of our wedding and beyond, Heather never made us feel anything less than special. She listens to every single request, times everything PERFECTLY and gives you everything you could ever want. She truly makes the bride and groom feel so special, and makes every picture dream you can possible have come true. (She even got us to our cocktail hour 20 minutes early!!!) Heather answers texts and emails right away, gives guidance and feedback for things you would never even think of, and becomes a trustworthy friend throughout the whole process.   Captured the moment!

  Amazing work by such a spectacular person! Heather was so great at seizing the beauty in once in a lifetime moments. She was so patient and didn’t force unnatural poses upon us. She understood lighting and movement and was comfortable with all types of surroundings. Every time I look back at our photos, I instantly relive that wonderful day. I would recommend her for any event : engagement, wedding, hiking trips in Banff, etc. Memories last forever, incredible ones will be captured by Heather Olker Photography.

  Amazing work!

  Highly highly recommend!!! My now husband and I won second place for an engagement shoot. We were able to tell from the emails that Heather, (Owner, Creative Director, Planner, and Lead Photographer) was a very nice and bubbly person. When we finally met in person it’s as if we knew her forever. She got to know us in a fun manner, and really adapted that to our shoot. We had a blast and as soon as we got in the car, we both said Heather is going to be our wedding photographer. We announced our decision after we went through all the engagement photos, which were stunning. My husband and I had a venue change and we’re super worried that Heather wouldn’t be able to accommodate it, but thankfully she was even though this made her commute about an hour and half long. Prior to the wedding Heather made us this detailed Google document where we had free range to fill out a questionnaire and place to add photo ideas. Communication was never an issue either, between text, email, and zoom meetings, we were always on the same page. The day of the wedding Heather had a second person, Sihan. She was in charge of taking photos of the men and then seconding Heather photos. Sihan was so sweet and and her photos are just as perfect. Between both photographers the day went smooth between locations, getting ready photos, ceremony, and reception. We had over 1200 amazing photos to go through!! We were able to choose 60 for our album, which is more than most couples have told me. We choose a custom album cover material, color, and add some type of personal touch to it. The pages are thick and durable and it’s just a beautiful way to remember the day. Heather is amazing! We are already planning on having her take maternity photos when that time comes! Cannot praise her enough.

  One of a kind service, making us feel so comfortable while expertly capturing the moment

  If you’re looking for a wedding photographer, I’ll save you some time and introduce you to Heather! From day 1, Heather made us feel comfortable and at home, something we were so impressed with. During our engagement photoshoot, she provided us fun little games to get in the groove and captured special moments that we couldn’t have dreamed of. We were so excited to show off her work to family and even more excited for her vision on our wedding day.
  Leading up to then, she exceptionally communicated to us logistics and shot planning. She was very flexible and scheduled several meetings to really flush out our desired photos. Heather provided unique guidance that made preparation easy, especially with coordinating with our wedding planner.
  On our wedding day, we worked with Heather and Sihan, her second photographer. We also worked with Alex Yuan and Ben for videography. The whole team was a joy to be with, naturally guiding us and capturing candid moments we shared with our bridal party. Because of all the planning, the bridal party shots and family shots went very smoothly.
  Most importantly, we were blown away with our final photos. We were amazed by Heather’s dedication to her clients, providing us with so many perfectly crafted pictures. She also remained patient for months after the wedding, working with us to get our wedding album details in place. We could not be happier with the moments she captured on her camera, photos that we love to share with family and friends.
  Alex did a great job with video as well, even providing us with a trailer video while he edited the main video. We loved the cinematic take on our wedding day, painting a picture of both the intimate moments at the start of the day to the fun times in the evening.

  Engagement Photos

Prior to and after our photo shoot we had zoom meetings that were detailed and oriented to our style as a couple, things we want and don’t want, and how she can execute our vision. Her expertise is easily recognizable by the creative thought she puts into each shot. We even had to reschedule due to weather which she accommodated easily! We were so happy to work with Heather, she cares so much about each individual and is a joy to work with. We recommend her to anyone!

  Simply the best!!

  Heather is an outstanding photographer and person. We did an engagement shoot with her and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! She is very thorough and eager to capture her subjects vision. After our initial call, she scheduled another call to discuss the location of the shoot and logistics. Together, we came up with the awesome idea to shoot in a park in Queens during cherry blossom season. She told us the colors she thought would be best for us to wear based on the colors of the flowers, we were SO impressed with her knowledge and amazing attention to detail! Fast forward to the shoot, we got there a little late which was a bit stressful but Heather had an amazing attitude. I must say, this shoot was one of the most romantic moments we've had since we've been engaged. Heather asked us to look each other in the eyes and connect. We did just that! There was nothing super posey or unnatural about the shoot. She gently guided us all the way through and really heard what we were asking of her. Heather holds a special place in our hearts forever!

Not only did she make my fiancee and I feel comfortable during our engagement shoot, but she had a perfect balance of giving great ideas for poses and location, while taking into consideration exactly what we wanted.   The Best Wedding Photographer!!!

  Where do I begin, Heather is an incredible talented photographer to work with! Goes above and beyond to do a great job! Through a recommendation of a professional wedding hair stylist, we were introduced to "Heather Olker Photography". From the start, Heather's approach and her overall personality was one that aligned completely with us. You will come across several vendors during the wedding planning process that have overpowering personalities.. Heather and her team are very well organized, responsive, sweet, helpful and communicated very well with us and with our coordinator at the venue. She helped us in creating the perfect timeline for our wedding day, made us feel completely comfortable through the process. Responded promptly to all our questions and concerns. She traveled from NY to Boston to photograph our engagement photo session, and wedding photos. Which we absolutely love!!!
  All things being equal, my husband and I are not the most photogenic people ;) The engagement photo session (which I encourage everyone to get one, if only as an opportunity to get to know your photographer before the big day) it allowed us an opportunity to see Heather as someone who completely goes with the flow with our collective vision. There is so much attention to detail you put into your wedding day and those memories are all now fleeting. But investing in someone like Heather and her professional team for your wedding day, capturing the pictures of not just you, but more importantly to us - our family and close friends - was the wisest investment that we could have made last summer.   Heather gave us the best photography experience we've ever had, especially considering how camera shy my fiance and I generally are. She really took the time to get to know the two of us as a couple through zoom calls and was always very understanding and enthusiastic. Not only were her people skills great, but her level of professionalism and quality of photos really showed. She presented us with dozens of amazing shots and provided suggestions that helped us pose within our comfort zones when we were taking photos. We never felt rushed and you could feel the love and hard work she puts into her creations. Definitely recommend working with her to anyone looking for someone down to earth, and delivers high quality work :)

  Heather is AMAZING!!!!!!! You are not hiring a photographer you are getting a best friend. She has so much experience that she basically guides you thru the whole process. When she presented to me I had to say YES QUEEN!!! I loved her positive attitude and she won me over. Great price for the amount of work she does. She loves her work. She helped us with getting people and setting us up. Ex. Videographer and makeup artist. She was a heaven sent. She made sure we was protected and everything worked out. I don’t think this wedding would have happen with out her and her experience and professionalism. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND. and once you see her presentation you have to say. YES QUEEN!!!!!!

  Great to work with!

  Heather did a terrific job for my son’s bar mitzvah! She was able to capture some excellent shots, even though she had never attended a celebration like this. It was unfortunate that she was getting married the same weekend as my other son’s bar mitzvah, as I would have loved for her to do his party as well. Heather is great to work with and extremely professional. Highly, highly recommended!

  Could not be happier

  My mom Patricia already beat me to it but me and Sam could not of been happier throughout the day w Heather they were so chill and helps us relax, and even thought it was a small event we were able to capture some pictures with them that feel so iconic and timeless. Our house is just filled with their pictures now. Could not be happier - Not sure if you do it but well keep you in mind for baby pics

  Worked with us through a venue change

  My daughters wedding was postponed because of covid and we ended up having intimate backyard wedding when all of the indoor venues had closed. Heather worked so well with us and our family and captured moments that we love so much! Im happy to review you.

  Heather was the most amazing photographer we could have asked for! After seeing the stunning images on Heathers website, I knew she was our photographer I wanted to capture my wedding memories! Her talent and eye are perfect in finding the special moments throughout the day. Her and her team were a joy to work with and beyond amazing!!! I’m so happy she was part of our wedding day! We even ordered prints after the wedding that now cover our house.

  Fantastic, Friendly and FLY!

  Having Heather as our photographer who was not only professional, but fun-loving and caring, made myself, the groom and my entire family at ease on our wedding day. From the thorough and timeliness of her communication, contract and survey(even when I would not be so timely and go months without getting back to her...my bad Heather) to the day of where she would be directing our high spirited family and friends, she put her all into ensuring we would be happy with her services.
  We had a destination wedding where my family is from Arizona and we got married in Leavenworth, Washington. Heather flew out from New York, drove 3 hours from Seattle up the mountains to a campground to photograph a Star Wars theme-inspired wedding. She rolled with the nerdiness, was a trooper through rain and even helped me walk in giant trash bags through mud so I wouldn't get my white jumpsuit and boots dirty before the ceremony. Heather is above and beyond a talented photographer and an above and beyond kind of person with going (and flying) the extra miles for her clients.
  It truly felt like Heather was another guest having a good time, just holding a camera, which was our hope. During our bride and groom photo session, Heather captured the love and fun in Michael and my relationship and caught beautiful moments through raindrops, Washington wilderness and autumn leaves.   I just received the photos Heather took in an engagement party I organized. She made people feel comfortable in front of the camera and the final photographs show how happy the new couple were. The photographs are exactly what people are hoping for.

  Would Easily Choose Heather Again!

  Heather was amazing to work with and made the day as stress free as possible. We never had to worry about someone capturing the right moments or setting the right scenes as she was able to take amazing photo's to capture every last moment. Super easy to work with when it came to posing for photo's as well to make them seem as natural as possible. Couldn't ask for a better photographer!

  Heather was extremely professional, but made us feel comfortable throughout the whole photoshoot! Our engagement photos turned out amazing. Heather is energetic, knowledgeable and really helped us figure out what we wanted from the shoot. We'd definitely recommend her!

  We hired Heather to be our wedding photographer and she took a very consultative approach. She helped us with our timeline and even gave us some pro tips on how to keep costs down on wedding day. She convinced my husband and I to spend more than 15 mins on our wedding day portraits, which, she thankfully did bc we really treasure those! She is able to be creative with the shots and also very organized day of and helped keep everything on schedule. We felt comfortable in front of the camera and we weren't sure how that would go! My family and friends kept telling me how friendly she was with everyone and their random photo opp requests. We def recommend her! She is always smiling.
