Just What We Were Looking For

We have Olivia for our engagement photo shoot as well as for our wedding day. She is funny, experienced, professional, and amazing. This is our first time being professionally photographed but she put us at ease and we felt super comfortable and had a lot of fun throughout the process.

Timeless photos to last a lifetime!

Working with Olivia was the best!!! I couldn't recommend her enough. Olivia was incredibly kind and helpful every step of the way. She truly is so talented! Professional and passionate!

Olivia was wonderful to work with. She was assertive and a clear communicator. She made the photo process comfortable and I really was able to trust her instincts. We didn't use a videographer, but with Olivia's photos, I can relive the day in vivid detail. I am so grateful for her kindness, professionalism and beautiful work. Strongly recommend!

Beautiful pictures of a joyous day!

Olivia is the best!

Olivia was SO wonderful to work with! Most importantly, our pictures turned out beautifully! They're so special and I'm so glad we'll have them to remember our beautiful wedding day. But, the other great thing about Olivia was how fun she was to have on the wedding day itself. She was calm, friendly, funny, and fun to take photos with while still being such a professional. She definitely helped me lighten up a bit and not be so nervous. She really made the experience of getting so many photos taken quite fun (even in the hot sun)! I highly recommend Olivia!

Amazing Photography and Experience

I have only the BEST things to say about my experience with Olivia Jacob Photography for my wedding this fall. She has been wonderful to work with since the very beginning, and she was incredibly kind and flexible throughout our entire wedding planning process (which included many changes!) during the pandemic. The photos that we have received are simply beautiful. We could not be any more thrilled to have these gorgeous pictures to treasure for the rest of our lives. Caught the Special Moments

Olivia was extortionary and caught the specials moments. I have a very large family, which is hard to gather, Olivia was able to command the announced and got the family pictures done under 45 minutes. She was very responsive in the moments leading up to the wedding, especially the uncertainty of the pandemic. Definitely recommend for your special day!

Amazingly talented, wonderful, and very flexible!

We originally planned a large wedding at a large venue. Due to COVID, we had to change plans to be ceremony and a short cocktail hour in our backyard. Olivia was extremely kind, understanding, and flexible. Having her shoot our intimate wedding at our home was so very special. We’ve gotten our first photos already...we LOVE them and cannot wait for the others!

We plan on having our original full reception next year if COVID allows and Olivia will be joining us then too!!!

Gorgeous. Authentic. Unique.

We hired Olivia to do our engagement photos as well as our wedding photos and are grateful for hiring her. Olivia was such a pleasure to work with. Her portfolio and previous experience spoke volumes, but after speaking with her we were completely at ease. We wanted photos taken from the wedding that captured the event, without looking too posed/formal. Olivia was a blast to work with, very professional while always making both of us laugh. She did everything possible to grab the best shot. We have only seen preview shots from the wedding, but can't wait for the full view.

The Best, The Sweetest

Olivia is both a fabulous photographer and person. She truly loves to see people in love and I'm so grateful that she was there to capture every moment of my wedding.

During the getting ready photos, she exercised her creativity and posed me and my bridesmaids to get some of the most beautiful and classic shots. For the family photos, she managed to get all 30 or so of us to look at ONE camera at the SAME TIME--definitely a near impossible feat. She comes highly recommended by me and my husband (and he's very picky about photography). Olivia will not only be amazing photographer, but also an amazing friend.

Incredible photographer

Olivia was wonderful to work with. I’m not a big fan of being in front of a camera and she made me feel totally relaxed. Olivia did a wonderful job of capturing the small intimate moments in our wedding. She also did an amazing job with couple and family portraits in posing people and framing the shots. Our photos are incredible and captured that understated elegance we were looking for. I would definitely book Olivia again for photography services!

She captured every perfect moment!

Olivia and her assistant Ashley were absolutely wonderful to work with the day of the wedding. My husband had hired a photographer for the proposal in Italy so we did not hire them for engagement photos. When we met on the day of the wedding it had been like we had known each other for a long time, Olivia made us feel so comfortable with her and in front of the camera. My husband and I wanted to un-plug on the day of the wedding so that we could enjoy the day (no phones means no camera, scary right). Not scary at all! We had complete confidence that Olivia would capture every moment and she did not disappoint! When we received the album I could not believe how many photos we got! I'm talking almost 1,000 and they were all perfect! She even captured a private moment between my husband and I after the ceremony between a closing door, it was our truest emotions of the whole day and the first picture we will frame. I can not praise her and her talent enough! I have already recommended her to a co-worker and they absolutely loved working with her as well.

Incredible!!

Olivia was such a pleasure to work with for our engagement shoot and wedding. Her personality and energy is contagious and she knew exactly how to make my husband and me feel relaxed in front of a camera. She captured our wedding day beautifully and we are beyond grateful to have the memories. She is responsive, attentive, and puts so much care into her work. We are embarrassed to say we cannot remember the second photographer's name she brought for our wedding day, but she was also incredible. The Absolute Best!

Olivia was the perfect photographer for our wedding! First off, her photos are incredible, and we've been flooded with compliments. But in addition to delivering the best photos she was so professional, responsive, helpful, and flexible every step of the way. She helped work out our timeline for the day and her advice was so valuable. We had a downtown wedding in our hometown and wanted to stay flexible with the first look, bridal party, and portrait locations, and also planned to walk to the reception through a park, and she was with us every step of the way. We got SO MANY amazing photos of us, our bridal party, our families, and our guests, and she perfectly captured the joy of the day itself. For days after the wedding we kept reflecting on how perfect our wedding day was and how present we were able to be with our guests, while still being able to steal time away with each other -- we honestly forgot we were even being photographed most of the time! Olivia made everyone feel comfortable and contributed to the fun, relaxed and joyful atmosphere of the day, and she documented it perfectly.

Fun, laid back, and confidence-inspiring person and beautiful, natural photos

We absolutely LOVED Olivia, she was the vendor that brought everything together for us! She is very organized and efficient yet laid back and very easy to get along with. My husband and I have no clue how to pose, but she did an amazing job of coaching us into relaxed and natural poses. She helped us quickly move through a 180 person group photo, 40 person family portraits and endless iterations of immediately family portraits in about an hour. She also connected us with an amazing videographer (87 & Smith) and helped me craft a realistic (and understandable) timeline for the day. We loved worked with her for our engagement photos, and I can't wait to get all of our wedding photos soon! Bottom line, Olivia's photos are beautiful and natural looking and she is a wonderfully fun, laid back, and confidence-inspiring person, and I can't recommend her enough!

Amazing pictures!

Olivia made us so comfortable and she really put us at ease during our engagement pictures. When it came to our wedding, she was responsive, very easy to work with and wonderful to be around all day long (and so was her second shooter, Ina). We just got our pictures back and they are amazing - it is going to be so hard to pick just a few to print. She captured our venue (Carnegie) and the day so beautifully - there's just so much joy in her photos and we feel lucky to have worked with her. Olivia is also a master of the family pictures - she is quick and great with kids.

Fantastic!

We had such a wonderful experience working with Olivia and cannot recommend her services enough! Throughout the wedding planning process she was responsive, flexible, and a true pleasure to work with.

The day of the wedding she and her second shooter, Lis, were such a joy to be around. They were patient, pleasant, provided direction when we needed it, and were extremely discreet during the ceremony and reception. Olivia and Lis were able to get through the individual and family portraits quickly and efficiently before the ceremony which gave us plenty of time to enjoy our reception!

When we received our gallery we were absolutely thrilled with the photos. The portraits were beautiful and the candid photos really captured the spirit of the day. Olivia has such a talent for perfectly capturing the little moments, genuine emotions and reactions, and details of the day. We are so grateful to have such beautiful photos of our family and friends and we will treasure these photos! We wholeheartedly recommend Olivia!

Amazing photographer and person

Captured the heart of our wedding :)

I highly recommend Olivia Jacob and her team!!! Olivia and her second shooter did an incredible job capturing our special day. The portrait photos are all amazing, which is miraculous because my husband HATES having his picture taken. The candid photos from the event are even more perfect. I am crying tears of happiness looking at them! In addition to delivering amazing pictures, Olivia was also adept at keeping the event on schedule. She managed to take portrait photos with our large extended families, immediate families, and the two of us in roughly 50 minutes! Lastly, she was very professional, a pleasure to work/ interact with, and her services were quite affordable for the DC area. We cannot thank Olivia enough for her amazing work!

Olivia was a fantastic wedding photographer, I cannot say enough about how kind, talented, artistic, and efficient she was. She did both our engagement pictures and wedding pictures, and was very professional and responsive throughout the planning process, even agreeing at the last minute to lengthen the day-of shooting. The pictures could not have turned out better. I told Olivia initially that what attracted me to her pictures was the fact that they were "photojournalistic" rather than heavily edited, posed, trendy shots. Instead, I felt that she captured real emotions and were edited our photos a way that it timeless. She created a perfect mixture of posed shots and candid shots, and captured a lot of genuine emotion on the faces of myself, my husband, and our guests.

Logistically, Olivia was also a dream to work with. She patiently herded my giant family into family photos, and didn't belabor the process, which helped keep the day moving. Her second shooters went above and beyond to make the pictures great. At one point, her second shooter for our wedding had my little brother (one of the groomsmen) hoist her up on to the railing near the dance floor so she could take pictures from above. I cannot recommend Olivia (and her team) highly enough!

There are so many flattering things I want to say about Olivia, so I'll have to break it up into sections (but TLDR: she is amazing and I highly recommend booking her before someone else does):

PROFESSIONALISM. Olivia is kind, fun, engaged, and very responsive (even when I was not). My husband and I did not have any social media at the time, so we didn’t feel comfortable in front of the camera; Olivia worked with our shyness. She was also open to any suggestions we had. She respected all of our requests, and was gracious in the most hectic times during the day.

FLEXIBILITY. We had a ceremony in a cramped church, followed by a backyard reception (except it rained on our wedding day, so most of the reception had to be moved inside the house). None of this fazed Olivia, and she worked with tight spaces and awkward backgrounds to create beautiful pictures.

PRESENCE. For our engagement photos, Olivia was patient and helpful as she explained how we should best pose ourselves. She took advantage of that time to talk to us about how to get good shots on our wedding day (e.g., reminding us to do a second kiss down the aisle). For our wedding day, Olivia, the second photographer, and her assistant (her awesome son!) were very sneaky during the day’s events, but still captured beautiful candid shots.

VALUE. Olivia is worth more than she charges, especially for the DC area. I was quoted a ‘reduced’ rate by a family friend that was still 60% more expensive than what Olivia charged, and did not include engagement photos. Olivia gave us more photos than we know what to do with, both hosted online for six months and on a flash-drive. Comparing my experience to a few coworkers who got married around the same time, I got the best deal.

QUALITY. Her portfolio speaks for itself! I normally hate the way I look in photos, but love my wedding pictures. I am so grateful for Olivia and her business for these beautiful shots.

We met with Olivia over a year in advance of our wedding. We knew we were having a very small wedding so we wanted to have a photographer who would be able to capture the tiny moments as well as the big things that we're going on during the day. After looking through about 40 different photographers Olivia was the perfect balance of detail shots, candids and family posed photos. On the day of the wedding she certainly did not disappoint. She even helped to call me down as I was waiting to get married. She captured everything from my mom brushing my hair before the wedding to my sister trying out lipstick to make sure it was the right color for the day. At her second shooter was amazing. Her second shooter stayed with my fiance during the setup of the reception venue and did his groom portraits. During the actual event I hardly noticed that they were there. But when we got the photos back they had captured every single moment and then some. Olivia with a dream to work with and I couldn't have asked for a better photographer on our wedding day. If you have any doubts about her put them aside she is a wonderful person, extremely professional, and the photos she produces are magnificent. From our 8 Hour event, we received over 600 perfect and edited photos. Olivia and her second shooter are truly a delight and we highly encourage anyone and everyone to request them for their wedding.

Wonderful! We had an amazing experience with Olivia and her team. They did an amazing job and were able to capture so many emotions and candid moments from us and our guests during our civil wedding. We had pictures at Meridian Park, Marriage Bureau and our roof deck celebration. Through her eyes and pictures, even the dull marriage buro became fun and romantic. I will be recommending Olivia Jacob Photography to anyone and everyone I meet that is getting married or has any reason in the whole world to hire a photographer!! Olivia is the whole package. She is so nice and fun and energetic and passionate. We loved everything about her personality. She was wonderful during our engagement session and so helpful while talking us through poses and making sure that we were having fun. We fell in love with the pictures and knew we had made the right choice after that encounter alone. And then came our wedding day, where she captured every special moment, every emotion, every candid smile and tear. She made the pictures fun and knew exactly what we wanted. From the very beginning Olivia worked with us to plan and execute a perfect day. Her suggestions and expertise were extremely helpful but she always made it clear that it was our day and our prerogative to have it our way. The day of Olivia and her team were professional and helpful, keeping us comfortable and relaxed. Her eye and talent for keeping us loose resulted in absolutely perfect pictures, both posed and candid. During the event, Olivia and her team were nearly invisible but managed to capture everything we could have asked for in stunning fashion. These pictures will no doubt stand the test of time and we could not be more pleased with how they turned out. Highly recommend!!!

We could not have selected a better photographer for our daughter's wedding for all the money in the world! Olivia Jacobs was on-site with us all the time, but was so unobtrusive you hardly knew she was there. She took every single picture we requested and so many more! She was creative, artistic, sensitive to our desires, and such a calming pleasure from start to finish. Although the weather was hot, hot, hot, Olivia had the wedding party out in the field and back to the cocktail party in record time! She scouted out the area a good hour in advance, finding the very best scenes, nooks & crannies, and beauty for each photo. I highly recommend this talented photographer to capture your prized moments. You will not be disappointed! Thank you, Olivia, from the bottom of our hearts.

Olivia was amazing!!! I just received my wedding photographs a little less than three weeks after my wedding and I could not be happier. One of the most important aspects of my wedding was the photographer and having awesome pictures. I researched photographers endlessly. What stood out for me was how she aims to capture the overall emotion and flow of the wedding day. No endless boring portrait photos (although of course we took a couple of those as well to appease family members) but what I really wanted was for her to capture the fun and emotion of the day. She also stepped back and let the moments happen - no forced awkward photos which I really appreciated. She helped guide us during our first look but overall she was very easy going and during the reception I forgot she was there! Could not be happier with her. Thank you!!

I give a whole-hearted, two-thumbs up recommendation for Olivia. Not only is she super friendly while also being extremely professional, the pictures we got from our wedding day are unbelievable (I posted the link to our "photo preview" on Facebook, and people that I haven't spoken to in years came out of the woodwork to comment on what stunning pictures they were). Hire Olivia, and trust in her expertise. For formal (posed) pictures, she has the eye for what will make a great photo, and she can direct you and position you to make that happen. For candid shots, she was taking a million photos all evening, at every turn and every reception event -- which yielded many of my very favorite pictures from the whole night. 100% recommend!!

I can't say enough amazing things about Olivia -- she did an incredible job with both our engagement photos and wedding photos. She was incredibly easy to work with throughout the entire process, and was such a calming influence on our wedding day -- sneaking out for sunset photos with Olivia was one of the highlights of the day for us. Olivia has a great eye for composing beautiful photographs and she and her second shooter, Ash, captured so many wonderful candid shots of us and our guests -- I'm in LOVE with all of our photos. I can't imagine having worked with anyone else to capture our wedding day!

Olivia is wonderful. She took both our engagement and wedding photos, and we would hire her again for any other photography needs. She's incredibly easy to work with, super accommodating, and her pictures are perfect. For the posed pictures, she's willing to wander into the woods in inappropriate shoes to get the perfect shot. During the ceremony and reception, we didn't notice that she and Ash (her second shooter) were there. Her candid pictures are especially great; she really knows how to capture spontaneous emotion. I can't say enough good things about her.

Olivia did an AMAZING job. She is extremely responsive which is huge for wedding vendors. She has a great personality- I felt at ease with her the entire day and felt like we really "clicked". She made me feel very comfortable. She was very assertive and made sure she got all the shots we wanted. The photos are stunning. I will cherish them forever. Choosing the right photographer was one of my biggest priorities for my wedding and I couldn't be happier with Olivia's work.

Olivia is amazing! We had the pleasure of working with her for our 12/31/16 wedding at Stone Tower Winery. We were so happy with Olivia's photography for our wedding! Every part of the process was simple, which was so appreciated in the sometimes complicated planning process. I chose to work with Olivia based on samples of her work-- she captures the small, candid moments so well. She was always quick to respond to questions, and gave us valuable advice which helped make our wedding day less stressful. At the same time, she was very flexible. On the wedding day, she and her assistant were a pleasure to work with-- they made the formal portraits fun, and during the ceremony and reception blended into the party taking pictures. After seeing the photos, I was so impressed by all the great moments that were captured, even when I hadn't realized anyone was taking a photo.

I reached out to Olivia after one of my friends told me they had selected her as their wedding photographer. I checked out her sample of photos on her website and loved the natural style and how her photos captured the special day for her bride and grooms. Once I saw my friend’s wedding photos I knew we had to book Olivia! She came to Baltimore to meet with me for coffee and made me feel so at ease. Also, she was also really understanding about how my groom hates getting his photo taken and is very cautious about photos on social media. I know I was a crazy bride that day but she made us feel so comfortable. I would definitely recommend Olivia to any bride!

We used Olivia's services for both our engagement session and our wedding day. We're so happy to have been able to work with her. She is super nice, really responsive, and has a personality that makes you very comfortable. No matter how much you love taking pictures, it can still feel really stiff (especially an engagement session) because you just don't know what you're doing or how to pose. She really helped us be comfortable in front of the camera.

Prior to our wedding day, I had a CRAZY long shot list because I didn't realize how long it took to take pictures. She helped me on timing and slimming our shot list down. (Side note: I had asked her what her ideal timeline would be on a wedding day - and we went with what she suggested. It made the most sense from both a scheduling point of view and for the best photos!). On our wedding day, she and her second shooter were great. We have a wonderful mix of portraits and candids. She really captured our day - everything from small details (like the invitation suite and programs that we had worked so hard on) to portraits (which included an outfit change for the cocktail hour!) to candids during the reception... all beautiful.

Her turnaround time was incredible (especially compared to some of the horror stories I've heard of people waiting months and months and months). The number of photos we received was incredible. Her price is reasonable. She is great and you will not be disappointed if you work with her. She will truly capture your wedding day with your friends and family celebrating, and remind you of so many things that you missed or forgot because the day just flew by.

Olivia was exactly who we needed to photograph our wedding. She was great at communication, direction, and put us both at ease. Our wedding was joyful and filled with fun and she captured that beautifully. There were no cheesy poses nor awkward shots, just moments captured of smiling faces, dancing bodies, and happy loved ones. Olivia seamlessly brought my wife's entire family together and took a beautiful photo of everyone (30+ people) in less than 5 minutes. And then she did the same with my family. It was something I don't think anyone else could have accomplished.

People kept asking us what side of the family she was from because of how well she seemed to know everyone and how familiar she was with us and everything happening. Everyone at the wedding was thrilled to be photographed by such a happy and wonderful person.

We chose Olivia over other photographers because we wanted someone that would capture the feeling of our wedding day and not just take some posed photos. When you flip through our scrap book it's easy to feel like you were there because everything flows so naturally. We were blown away.

I'm so happy that we chose Olivia to document our special day and would recommend her to anyone that wants a truly remarkable photographer.

My wedding was full of some really beautiful surprises, and finding Olivia was one of them. From our very first phone call with her, I felt super comfortable and completely trusted her with our wedding photos. We completely lucked into having Olivia and Nicholena as our Photographers. Our 6 month engagement, during my busy season at work meant that we were constantly behind in planning, crossing our fingers and hoping for the best.

Well we got it. Olivia sent the photos last week and she did an amazing job capturing our day, our personalities and our joy.

Her prices are super reasonable, her work is fantastic, and she has an amazing ability to make you feel entirely comfortable trusting her to capture your day well, even if you don't have time for an in person meeting before the event.

Olivia is extremely nice, flexible, and honest. I was out of country and only had 24 hours to get engagement photos in DC and Olivia did such a good job that I ended up booking her for my civil ceremony at the War Memorial! It was supposed to be 20 people and when it turned into a 60+ person event, Olivia was flexible and honest about how to get the best photos. She was with us from when I got my hair done at 7am to when the party ended close to 10pm and was extremely nice and fun throughout the process. I would recommend her to anyone who wants a laid back photographer who really enjoys what she does and has a serious talent that shows in her excitement when she takes pictures. Olivia is amazing!

My wife and I wish we could give Olivia more than 5 stars: We were incredibly pleased with the quality of our wedding photos, as well as the work of Olivia and her assistant on the day of our wedding. One of the things that drew us to Olivia's work was her skill at doing both candid style photographs of the guests (e.g. during the reception) as well as more traditional wedding portraits of the bridal party during the wedding itself. Not only did she manage to do this very well, but did so in -- what I imagine were -- some quite challenging conditions for a photographer: basically facing into the sun during the wedding itself. In short: our photos are worth every penny we paid.

Booking Olivia was one of the best and easiest decisions we made during wedding planning. Although I had very little guidance for her, Olivia understood that I wanted a relaxed feeling to my wedding, and that I was interested in having someone capture moments and conversations rather than stuffy details. Olivia and her second photographer Minh made our venue look even more gorgeous than I knew it could, and they captured the expressions and happy tears of my family on the happiest day of my life. We loved working with Olivia and highly recommend her! She is warm, easygoing, energetic, and talented. Olivia and her assistants captured our wedding day perfectly! They did an excellent job taking formal photos with our family and wedding party. Olivia was flexible with our timeline and she did a great job organizing everyone and keeping us on schedule. It rained on our wedding day. Olivia was very resourceful - finding indoor and covered locations for photos and venturing outside in the rain for some photos too! In addition to formal photos, Olivia and her assistants did a terrific job taking candid photos throughout the day. These photos really capture the joy and love of our wedding day. Olivia and her assistants also did a beautiful job taking pictures of all the small details of our wedding. And they were very respectful and unobtrusive - we didn't even notice them taking the photos. We are so happy with our wedding photos - they are truly beautiful! Olivia's prices are very reasonable and she graciously provided a second assistant on our wedding day at no extra cost. Olivia delivered our photos quickly too! We received more than 650 photos less than a month after our wedding. We will treasure them forever!

I can't speak highly enough of Olivia! She's was so easy to work with and has a great eye. We got out pictures last week and can't get enough. Photographs came out so beautiful, she captured every important moment of the day really well.
Her working with a second photographer even for a smaller wedding was such a huge plus as well. Looking at our pictures (only about 6 weeks after our wedding) we can see exactly how the day went! She was very helpful leading up to our big day helping us iron out the timeline and made really good suggestions. The day of the wedding was really dicey weather wise, but she assured us whatever happens, we'll do our best to make it work. And we did, as a result we have ton of beautiful and very natural photos.

We can't say enough wonderful things about Olivia. From the moment we met her, we loved her. She was easy to communicate with-responded quickly and thoughtfully. She is friendly, warm, and energetic. Olivia was a JOY to work with. We had not done an engagement session, so I was a little bit nervous about being photographed, but Olivia put me and my husband at ease from start to finish. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and it made me feel so confident and relaxed. What I love about Olivia's pictures are that she captures the ACTUAL wedding- not a staged or over-posed day of wedding photos. Her pictures are clear, crisp, and meaningful. I've read so many horror stories about photographers that I did not want to take a chance on my wedding. So when it came time for me to be married this past fall, I did a lot of research and had the talented Olivia Jacob do my photography. I emailed her to check her availability and she responded within minutes. In fact, all of my communications were promptly returned. We set up a time to meet and the meeting went so well. She was very easy to talk to and both my fiancé and I felt really comfortable around her. When we met other photographers we did not get the same kind of comfortable feeling. Olivia also helped us through the planning process. She explained that if we wanted X number of portraits, then we needed to allot a certain amount of time. This helped us with creating our timeline. During the wedding, Olivia and her assistant were so great. They took beautiful pictures of everything and interacted with my humongous family with ease and made everyone laugh. They were really encouraging during the family portrait portion of the day making people feel comfortable. About one month after our wedding we received a gorgeous online gallery with 819 pictures (we got 8 hours of photography). I have received so many compliments on our pictures and I love looking at them. Olivia and her assistant are very friendly and great photographers.

My husband and I reached out to Olivia because we loved the geninue, documentary-style photos on her website, and I'm so happy we did! Olivia was easy to work with, responsive, and I really appreciated her attention to detail. She made sure everyone looked their best in our portraits. We didn't really give Olivia a lot of "must have" photos other than the first look and formal family/wedding party portraits, but she clearly knew what she was doing. I cannot praise Olivia’s talent and professionalism enough! We had met with a number of other photographers before finally finding Olivia. As soon as I met her, I was blown away. She put me completely at ease and I knew then everything was going to be great. I knew she was talented – that was obvious from her website – and her style and approach were exactly what my husband (fiancé at the time) were looking for. We also had her shoot our engagement photos. You should understand, we aren’t exactly a couple that likes having our photo taken, in fact, we are quite the opposite, but Olivia made the entire experience so much fun that the time flew by and the photos turned out beautifully. After the engagement shoot we knew the wedding day was going to be a breeze but there were two other factors that really set Olivia apart. One - wrangling our large family. Olivia took charge of the situation and did it all with a grace that put a natural smile on everyone’s face. Two – we’ve all been to weddings where it feels like the photographer is in your face. While we definitely wanted lots of photos of us and our guests, we didn’t want the photographer to be something that stuck out in people’s minds when they looked back on our wedding. Olivia managed to be everywhere and nowhere all at once. We have tons of awesome photos of everyone clearly having a good time. She managed to capture personalities in an instant. Yet, it almost seemed she and her assistant weren’t there. When planning a wedding there are lots of tiny nuances to get hung up on, but booking Olivia will ensure you can check one thing off the list and not have to worry about it again. Thank you, Olivia!

And she is so fun to work with, definitely not just another vendor, but a real friend and someone you can trust. When a drunk guest grabbed her camera and broke part of it, Olivia responded with grace, got her back up equipment and kept shooting. I heard about it from the guest. She never complained to me and no photos were compromised. That kind of professionalism is so appreciated during a hectic wedding. I can't thank her enough and whole heartedly recommend her.

I reached out to Olivia because I liked the photos she had on her website; they weren't just beautifully composed, but they conveyed all of the warmth and joy that I wanted a photographer to document at our wedding reception. Olivia and her assistant did just that. I feel the happiness of our event when I look a them. Olivia began by making all of our family members feel at ease when she took our group portraits. She knew the venue well and selected a room with beautiful light, and she waited until the light was just right to take some shots of us outdoors. During the evening she captured lovely moments that we missed, portraits of couples, and a variety of shots from perspectives only a talented photographer would think of. On top of everything, Olivia was very easy to work with. I would recommend her in a heartbeat and think she could charge a lot more than she does for the quality of her photos and her professionalism.

We hired Olivia to shoot our wedding weekend and she did a fantastic job. We had a three day wedding weekend with a celebration Friday night, a traditional Sikh wedding on Saturday, and an American style reception on Sunday. These were three very different events in completely different venues. The timing was strange (Friday was late at night, Saturday was early in the morning) and the spaces were widely different. Olivia was amazing. She and her partner Minh were able to work with our schedule and capture everything that we wanted. She was so helpful in setting up shots and herding the guests into good positions, all while having a huge smile on her face. She loves her job and it shows. The positive attitude helped to keep us on track and happy even when we were being pulled by all of our guests to take photos. Olivia had helped us prepare for this and had us create a shot list to be sure that we got all of the groupings of people in our photos. she set forth a time limit, which we were able to stick to and ensure that we got some fantastic shots just the two of us. The finished product is remarkable. We choose Olivia based on her portfolio and out photos look stunning. We have received so many compliments and love them so much. Olivia was a pleasure to work with and definitely an excellent choice.

Olivia was amazing!!! From the beginning she was very responsive to all of my emails (even when I sent three in one day)!! We talked on the phone first and she listened to all of my worries and wishes for our wedding day! It was very helpful that she asked me to give her important moments that were above the rest on the day of. With my dad being sick I wanted to make sure all opportunities I had with him were captured and they were!! I have looked at my photos everyday since my wedding and still smile/cry! Great work and very passionate about her job!

Olivia was so great! Our engagement photos turned out beautifully! We had our pictures taken at an amazing park in DC and then with our dog. She made us feel comfortable and the poses were not awkward! She was super quick in providing us our pics (gave us a sample that evening and a week later all the photos!). Last November 14th was the most important day of my life and thankfully, Olivia Jaxob was part of that day. She has made a wonderful work. Olivia took the photos at my wedding. I had very high expectations for my photographer, and she exceeded them all. She was very easy to get in touch with, and very responsive--all my emails with inquiries (including repeated ones...) were answered within minutes. On the day of the wedding, she was professional and friendly, taking all her time for the "candid" pictures and making sure we were not rushed. She was great at suggesting settings without being too directive either. The result is fantastic. She completely managed to capture the atmosphere of the day, which I can feel every time I look at the pictures. My family lives abroad and could not attend the wedding. They told me that by looking at the pictures, they really felt like they were almost there with me, which means a lot to me. I am thrilled that I chose Olivia (especially since I did not do much research on wedding photographers and ended up picking her simply because I loved the photos on her website). She is both personable and talented, and I would recommend her to anyone who wants beautiful and genuine wedding pictures.

Loved working with Olivia. She was completely laid back and unobtrusive- we hardly even knew she was there the day of our wedding. We received more than 700+ wedding photos about 6 weeks after our wedding and were more then pleased with her work over the course of the day. Olivia also did our engagement photos and was more than willing to try out a spot of our suggestion that was about 45 minutes outside DC, and at an early morning hour in order to capture some of the softer morning light. They turned out great as well and she was a lot of fun to work with. Definitely recommend Olivia for all wedding related photo needs- she is responsive, open to suggestion, and has a natural ability to capture just the right shot.

Olivia photographed our wedding in August of this year, and we could not have been happier with her work. She got some incredible pictures (despite rain!) without being invasive during the ceremony or reception, and she was really efficient at getting all the portrait shots we wanted quickly enough that we still got to enjoy the reception. Not to mention her price was very reasonable considering the quality of her work. We would highly recommend her for weddings in the MD/VA area.

Olivia was a joy to work with. She was professional, thoughtful, and kind, and she made sure we got the shots we needed (working with family portraits in particular can be a pain) without being pushy at all. She did a great job of documenting the big and little moments of are day. Her shots are beautiful, her prices are extremely fair, and her turnaround time was excellent. I'm so glad that we decided to work with Olivia--I would recommend her very highly to my family and friends and to anyone else!

Olivia captured both the warmth and intimacy of my daughter's wedding, and with great compassion also managed to evoke the wide and deep range of emotions throughout that day. From the moment we met Olivia, we were instantly impressed with her genuine love for her work and the connections she makes with her clients. We fell in love with her spirit and her amazing photos. She is hands down the most affordable, best deal money can buy in the DC area. We chose a package that included an engagement photo shoot and her service all day at the wedding. She has an uncanny way of capturing details, relationships, and fun. We literally laughed and cried out loud from the emotion that we got from both our engagement pictures and our wedding photos. Her photo journalistic style really told the story of our entire wedding. It was truly amazing.

Olivia even surprised us by bringing a second photographer with her for the entire day, free of charge. Literally, they were with us from 9am to 11pm! The span of photos they took was truly impressive, and the quality was breathtaking.

You will not be disappointed by Olivia's character, work ethic, and tremendous skill.

We hope that we can use her again when we need to capture another memory.

Olivia did the photography for our wedding in Alexandria in April, which was a small event with about 50 guests. We were very pleased with Olivia's work. She was very pleasant to work with. Our wedding was about a mile or two from where we did our pictures after the ceremony, and Olivia was able to capture all the pictures we asked for. This included impromptu pictures on the (packed) King Street trolley on our way back to the wedding site. Olivia provided us with a website where we could access all of our pictures a couple of weeks after the ceremony, and sent us a flash drive with copies of each picture for us to keep. Notably, Olivia's price was far lower than several other photographers we contacted, but the quality was as good as we could've asked for. And, her price includes full rights to the pictures, which some others did not offer (or charged more for). Overall, we would gladly recommend Olivia to others.

Olivia shot our fall wedding on a farm in Loudoun County, Virginia, and was so helpful and great to work with from the very start. She gave us a lot of great advice on how to plan and execute our shot list, and was incredibly quick and seamless in getting our family and friends shots done before and after the ceremony. But our favorites were the more candid shots, which we had loved about the other work in her portfolio. Olivia and her assistant did such a beautiful job capturing everyone's emotions and expressions, and the beauty of the farm. We were very happy with her work, and would highly recommend her to other couples in the DC area.

Olivia was the only photographer that we could find within our small budget and we are so glad that we did! She was very responsive and flexible and we got our pictures back very fast! Her sense of humor really helped put us at ease through the whole picture taking process.

Olivia photographed our outdoor fall wedding. Despite the fact that It was a very overcast day, Olivia managed to take some beautiful photos. I loved the fact that she took beautiful posed portraits, as well as candid photojournalistic photos. She was very responsive throughout the planning process and was very easy to get along with the day of the event. She did not have an overbearing presence, but still did a good job taking control of situations when it is difficult to get everyone on the same page (family portraits).

Olivia was sweet enough to show up earlier than her contracted time and even surprised us by bringing a second photographer!

I only have two small complaints for Olivia. I felt like some of the details of our day were not adequately captured. I would have liked more photos of centerpieces, flowers, and other DIY details that I spent hours creating.

Additionally, I wish that when she had taken the couple photos, she had zoomed out to capture the environment of our venue, but also zoomed in to have allowed for a few more close-up couple portraits.

That said, overall, I was very happy with our wedding photos. I dont think you can get a better value in the DC area. I suspect that Olivia will be raising her prices soon (and rightfully so!). I would definitely recommend Olivia's services to DC brides looking for a photographer under 3K.
