Great photographer and an amazing experience

We are really grateful to Olivia for eternalizing such a special day! Not being from Boston we opted for having a small intimist wedding celebration here but we knew we wanted that super special and personal moment to be registered by a photographer.

We moved to the area not too long ago and we asked some colleagues for recommendations, but as soon as we spoke with Olivia we knew we wanted to work with her! Being super friendly and yet super professional, she made us feel comfortable since our first phone call. She asked us key questions to understand our needs and was very open to all our crazy ideas, from having our dog join us on part of the photos, to walking around Harvard yard looking for the best spots. She was able to accommodate our wishes and needs allowing us to really enjoy the moment. She guided us in a very sweet way and made us feel comfortable to suggest possible pictures.

We would definitely recommend Olivia to anyone looking for a great professional and photographer!

A magical Boston wedding! I highly recommend Olivia

Olivia is absolutely amazing! I got married at the Omni Parker House in August 2023. We hit all the iconic Boston places including Old City Hall, Boston Common, The Public Garden, the famous swan boat bridge, Beantown Pub, and of course the front of the Omni Parker hotel. She knew all the good spots to stop and take photos and we had an absolute blast chatting with her. She was excellent at coordinating family members and the wedding party for all the important shots. I felt totally comfortable with her from the moment I met her. She helped me finalize the day-of itinerary and kept everyone on schedule and on time - a massive feat! I was so impressed with the quality and versatility of all the photos. She has an amazing eye for places that you might not even think of. These photos were EVERYTHING and so much more than I could have ever imagined. I’m so happy I hired her and would absolutely recommend her.

Highly recommend

It was great working with Olivia! This is coming from a couple who wasn't a fan of most wedding traditions, and a bride who wanted to elope and not hire a photographer. So we were tough customers, but she was wonderful, listened to what we wanted and was absolutely great day of (even when things started behind schedule and were a little chaotic). We were very, very happy that we hired her for our wedding, have wonderful picture and highly recommend her.

Olivia is the best!

Olivia is the best! She is a very talented photographer and was able to beautifully capture every special moment of our wedding day. She was also so great to work with. She made the whole process fun and enjoyable. Her communication was great and she truly listened to our ideas and wants. She was able to help us relax and feel at ease in front of the camera. She made sure we got the specific shots we wanted and that we stuck to our timeline even when rain threw a bit of a wrench in our plans. We couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out and highly recommend Olivia!

A dream to work with!

Photography was one of our top priorities for our wedding, yet my husband and I were nervous about finding a photographer who would make us feel comfortable as we tend to be camera shy and didn't want to look stiff in photos. When we found Olivia my gut said she was the right girl for the job. She prides herself on being authentic and making the experience fun! On our wedding day she got us to laugh and relax and our pictures really reflect that. She was able to capture all the love and joy we were feeling and showcase it in a gorgeous framework! I would recommend Olivia to anyone and look forward to using her in the future!

Incredible!

A photographer was one of the hardest vendors to book for us, and we could't have been happier with Olivia. The experience on the day of was fantastic. Olivia was calm, genuine, organized, and energetic, and we felt so comfortable with her as she was a part of almost every moment of the day. She listened to everything we wanted in terms of places at the venue to take photos, different groupings of family, and even finding a good time post-ceremony to go on a quick stroll to get sunset pictures by the water.
We just got our pictures back, and they are phenomenal. The emotion and pure joy of the day is so well-captured, and her use of lighting, color, and framing is exceptional. There is a perfect blend of posed pictures with candids, without anything looking too "pose-y" or unnatural. So highly recommended!

Olivia was absolutely amazing for our wedding this past October. We were lucky to have a perfect day in terms of the weather, and she absolutely nailed capturing the amazing feeling. Neither of us were used to having photos taken of us (especially me, the groom) but Olivia has a way of keeping you laughing and never making you feel awkward or out of place.

She is very impressive and you wouldn't do wrong commissioning her services for any type of photography. We also opted to have a second shooter, and of course through her experience brought along another amazing photographer for the day.

Olivia was our photographer for our engagement shoot and she was truly amazing! My fiance and I had a blast with her and she made it such a fun experience that we are truly thankful for. It rained but Olivia laughed and had fun with us the whole time. She didn't let the rain stop us from having a fun, upbeat session. We absolutely love our engagement photos and all of our friends and family have raved about how elegant they look. Olivia was absolutely wonderful. She approaches her photography by first developing a rapport with her clients --- in doing so, she uses her humor and friendliness to disarm you of any anxiety or stiffness. My husband usually feels a little self conscious being the subject of repeated photos and wasn't particularly looking forward to our engagement shoot. However, he and I both found the photo shoots incredibly fun in the end! The engagement photos were lovely -- I suggest using the shoot as a "warm up". Our wedding was held at our own family farm, but we splurged on photography -- Olivia's work was so worth it! Since the wedding had no real staff running things like a professional venue does, our wedding was very informal and communal. Despite the relatively hectic nature of the wedding day, Olivia easily stepped up to take charge and give directions to us and all of our friends and family having their picture taken. She and her assistant knew exactly how to organize and frame photos, what looked good, how to tactfully ask people to move or turn, etc. On a day when you've already been asked to make 1,000 decisions, Olivia brought a sense of calm, order, and undistracted joy to the day. Our new married couple photo shoot was one of the most intimate, special parts of our entire wedding. My maid of honor, a professional photographer trained at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, recommended Olivia's work, having seen photographer's portfolios from options I shared with her. I'm so glad I took her up on her strong recommendation. I would love to work with Olivia again in the future.

I met Olivia at a wedding expo in Boston, and she was so friendly and had a great energy about her, I couldn't stop thinking about how awesome it would be to have her photograph our wedding. We almost went with someone very inexperienced, but when Olivia came along, I knew she was perfect for us. She worked with our budget and kept us in the loop every step of the way. We had a meeting before the wedding to talk about our family and how we would like to structure the photos (both of our parents are divorced, so this was really important for us). On the day of the wedding, she was early, her assistant was lovely, and I knew she was there with us every step of the way. I thought our family photos would be challenging because there's so many of us, but she did a great job of moving everything along so my husband and I could get to our solo photos. This was exactly what we needed -- otherwise our family would've been there for hours. I am so beyond thrilled at all of our wedding photos, and I look at them all the time. Picking Olivia for our photographer was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding!
This was one of the vendors we spent A LOT of time researching. Because we didn't do a video, the photos were the only thing we would have of our day. So we wanted to make sure we picked the perfect photographer, and Olivia delivered. Not only did the photos come out beyound BEAUTIFUL , but she was able to really capture the day (candids, details, the lighting..just everything).

I would defiantly recommend Olivia to anyone looking for a photographer :)

Olivia was INCREDIBLE! I wish the value field went above 5 stars because the value you get when choosing Olivia is beyond just financial. She became a friend and tremendous resource for our wedding planning. Olivia is extremely knowledgeable in the world of photography and weddings. Sarah would text her throughout the wedding planning and she would immediately reply back. She even gave us tips and planned her trips to CT to accommodate us.

Her energy and enthusiasm made the entire experience that much more special. The boudoir session left us with a special memento and was an unexpectedly natural experience. It's her personality and professionalism that made this unique element of the wedding experience one we'll always look back on. (To clarify, only Sarah went to the session. I'll always remember it because I have a book filled with the pictures ;)

OK, OK, she's great, you get it. No, but seriously she's AWESOME! Her pictures came out amazing!!! So many photographers only blur the background or capture a few candids, but not Olivia. We were able to see our wedding from a whole new point of view without excessive filters or strictly zoomed-in shots. She even had a professional photographer as her backup because she's part of a network of photographers, which essentially meant we had two photographers for the price of one. Speaking of price, you won't find the value in Olivia's packages anywhere else. We were a bit doubtful at first because the price was so good for what we got out of it, but this is one of those situations where you get SO much more than you pay for.

We were blessed with many great vendors, but Olivia is definitely at the top of the list. I can't say enough about how great she is and how thankful we are to have met her. We look forward to connecting with her in the future and we highly recommend her for your event!

Olivia is an easy-going and fantastic wedding photographer! Olivia and I set my husband and I right at ease when we first met her for our engagement photo shoot. I’m not very used to have my picture taken professionally but Olivia made it fun and helped arrange us so that we have nice and natural looking pictures. She has a keen eye for color, light and texture that she brings to her art. And Olivia was very nice and fun to be around on my wedding day. I can't say enough about Olivia's photography services - she is one talented, fun lady!! She made the planning process FUN and we looked forward to every meeting we had with her. Her creativity started as soon as we did the engagement session, something that made the wedding day that much more comfortable. She made us at ease which resulted in the most beautiful photographs. The most important part is finding a photographer who's creativity you like and she really understood our vision without a ton of direction from us. Olivia was such a pleasure to work with. She was so fun, and laid back and made both of our families feel so comfortable on our wedding day. We could not have been more happy with our experience with Olivia. From start to finish she was professional, fun, and helpful. She always responded quickly to any question I had and made us feel like her only clients. The day of the wedding was truly great. Olivia was flexible--things got a bit hectic before the wedding as we decided whether or not the rain was going to stop. We could not be more happy with Olivia who photographed our wedding along with our engagement photos! Olivia was exactly what my husband and I were looking for in a wedding photographer: warm, friendly, positive, caring, mellow, low key, easygoing, flexible, respectful, conscientous, attentive to details, creative, responsible, and hard working! No joke!

She had a great eye for bringing the small details of our traditional Chinese banquet to life in the pictures that she and her assistant Sharon captured.

She was a delight to work with throughout the whole process. My husband and I never felt awkward, pressured, pose-y or 'fake' with any of our pictures.

Olivia was prompt in putting the photos online, meeting with us to discuss album options, and placing orders for items. She was extremely patient with the editing process as my husband and I needed a fifth edit in order to get our album to the just right size and look that we wanted.

Olivia offered quite a few options for budget friendly, eco friendly, and more lavish style wedding packages, so it was easy for us to find a package that suited our needs, style, taste, and budget.

If you are looking for a wonderful photographer with a great eye for her art, Olivia is a great choice.

Selecting a photographer was one of the most difficult decisions in our planning process. The photos are the one aspect of the wedding that we will have forever, and we were incredibly picky. We loved Olivia's work online, and we clicked with her in person. I'm thrilled to say that we were not disappointed on our wedding day. She was fantastic -- flexible, making suggestions when appropriate but also seeing we knew we wanted, and very friendly and personable with our guests. You spend a lot of time with your photographer on your wedding day, and I could not be more pleased with our choice in Olivia. Best of all, we're in love with our photos, which beautifully captured our day -- and actually bring tears to our friends' eyes!

If love at first sight can be found with a photographer, that photographer was Olivia for us. We knew immediately after meeting her that we wanted her to be a part of our wedding day. From day one she was more than accomodating and would bend over backward to help us in anyway she could. During the wedding she helped everyone relax and have a good time during the pictures which is an amazing feat. Olivia is the kind of person you immediately want to be your friend. Olivia was amazing to work with. We found her through a good friend of ours and as soon as I spoke to her on the phone for the first time, I knew that she was going to be our wedding photographer. Many wedding photographers can too pushy with their "vision," assuming that most people don't know the first thing about photography. Olivia really listened to what we wanted and envisioned for our wedding images while still offering very helpful, professional guidance. Her style is amazing. We were married in June at the Roger Williams Park Botanical Center. This is a tricky venue because of all the plants, glass, and an atypical layout. We had some very amazing vendors but Olivia was our absolute favorite!!! She has such an artistic eye, unique style and the best energy! We received our wedding photos from her a few weeks back and we are absolutely in LOVE. Many have a great vintage feel, she captured such sweet moments, and our portraits with the wedding party are the best I have ever seen.

We also did an engagement session with Olivia at a local farm and we had a total blast. Olivia has an amazing ability to make you feel totally comfortable, doesn't ask you to do ridiculous things for photos, and is a total joy.

Both her and her assistant were fabulous at the wedding. They got such fantastic shots but were never intrusive or overbearing. We would 100% recommend Olivia Gird as your wedding photographer!

Some brides spend countless hours looking for the perfect dress, shoes and even their cake. My dress was the first one I tried on, I always knew I would wear chuck taylors at my wedding and I picked my favorite cake. My hours were spent on my photographer, after all you will never wear that dress again, and my shoes I wear to garden now and the cake well that was delicious. But my pictures, my pictures I will have forever!

Olivia was such a pleasure to work with. Her personality shines through in her work. Not only is she professional and accommodating but her personality is a definite plus! It's hard enough being the center of attention but having a stranger snap pictures of you all day can be uncomfortable. Olivia made it fun and full of laughter!

Our engagement session consisted of bicycles and bringing our dog Duke along for some family shots! All of my friends and family commented on Olivia’s eye for fun, and when we received a copy of our wedding pictures their were so many to choose from!

We absolutely love Olivia's work and having her photograph our wedding was one of the best decisions we made. A couple of reasons why Olivia was a great choice for us:
1. Creative, "photo journalism" style. None of those boring, posed, everyone-smile-now photos. Our photos tell the story of our marriage. Olivia really brought out our personalities in her photography.
2. Value! Olivia bundled the engagement session and wedding into a very reasonable package. You own the proofs, so there is no pressure to commit to an expensive album.
3. Expertise. I ran almost every wedding question, photography-related or not, by Olivia and she happily provided her expert opinion. I was so touched by her willingness to help me through the wedding planning process.
4. Patience. Olivia didn't blink an eye when our crazy families were being, well...crazy. It was really important to have a photographer who was understanding of family quirks.
5. Beautiful photos. Last, but certainly not least, we love our photos. We have received so many comments from friends and families who love them as well. Olivia captured all of the love that surrounded us at our wedding.

Olivia did an AMAZING job! She was extremely professional and down to earth at the same time. If you shoot her an email, she get's back to you very quickly. I will definately be working with her again in the future!

I LOVE this lady. We got the package that included the E-pics and I highly recommend everyone does this with their photographer. We already knew her style on the wedding day and she already knew our personalities. She seemed like a friend in the room rather than a photog. She was quick when she needed to be, patient when she had to be, and all around, she and her 2nd shooter were fantastically funny people--just the type I wanted around me on my wedding day. The teasers that she has up are breathtaking and I can't wait to see the rest!

I wish it was possible to rate Olivia with more than 5.0!

If you are planning a wedding in the Newport area -- heck, ANYWHERE on the East Coast, really (I am sure she would travel :)), look no further than Olivia Gird! I can't urge you enough, she is the best there is out there by far.

Words cannot begin to express the exceptional service that Olivia provided for us, from our Engagement Session to our wedding day and evening. My husband took over the job of finding our wedding photographer, and he is as much keen on a person with a stellar personality as he is with finding a good deal. After meeting with several "larger business" type photographers, my husband was immediately won over by Olivia during their first meeting at a Starbucks in the area. Her warm, friendly, familiar personality resonated through his excitement at telling me he found the perfect photographer for us. I knew he was right at my first meeting with Olivia, our engagement session in Philly. I had prepared myself for a fun day of having pictures taken, but I was nevertheless blown away by Olivia's exceptional creativity, her zest for life and fun, and the very genuine feeling that she was really there for US, and that she was just as excited about our wedding as we were. To top it all off, she is entirely unpretentious -- though deserves every bragging right in the world for her brilliance behind a lens -- a quality that sometimes runs scarce amongst artists. I mean, if someone climbs into a holly bush, after spending a near-freezing day outside with us running around a city, and STILL is honestly stoked about an amazing picture she just took of you and insists on showing it to you right away, then you know you've stuck gold and have found the perfect person to have record the most incredible, memorable day of your lives!

When she arrived -- earlier than she promised -- on the day of our wedding with her awesome assistant Jackie, it felt as though a dear friend was coming to help out the bridal party with our final preparations. The rest of the day, she was at times barely perceivable while capturing her amazing images, though interacting with us and our guests as though she had known everyone for years, cracking jokes and helping us all maintain our glowing, giddy moods. My guests continue to rave about not only the pictures, but about how much they all genuinely loved her! We were sad to have her leave towards the end of the evening.

If you hire Olivia, you can do no wrong! We will be keeping her as our photographer for all of life's main events for years and years to come!!

We just got our photos back from our wedding, and they came out so great! We really enjoyed working with Olivia and are so glad we found her. Our engagement shoot was a great way to get to know her a little better and also get comfortable with being photographed so much. On our wedding day she was super quick in getting the shots we wanted, which everyone appreciated greatly. She has a great sense of humor which makes smiling genuinely in the photos easy and calmed our nerves. We could not be happier with our photos and our experience with Olivia as our photographer.

This photographer is absolutely AMAZING!!! She really listens to you and what you are looking for and finds a way to make it happen. She is sooo nice and funny and makes you feel at ease if you aren't necessarily used to having a camera on you all day. I just got my pictures back a few weeks ago and they really are amazing!! So lovely!

Olivia did our wedding and I can't say enough good things about her! She is an absolute sweetheart and knows exactly how to put people at ease in front of the camera. My family and friends were all very impressed with her. She is extremely professional but she is also very personable (and she has a great sense of humor). She is very good about getting back to you by both phone and email. I had shopped around quite a bit before we met Olivia but after my first meeting with her I knew she would be the one we would choose and SO GLAD we did! She offers quite a bit in her packages and is very reasonably priced. I highly recommend her to anyone!!

**UPDATE: We got our pictures back and we are beyond THRILLED with them!! They are awesome! She takes such beautiful pictures!

Olivia is simply amazing. We met with two other photographers first, but instantly clicked with Olivia's fun-loving, easy going personality. She puts you at ease from the moment you meet her - I've never been too comfortable in front of a camera but she makes it so easy! She really made an effort to get to know us and it made a world of difference that came through in our photos. Her photographs are stunning. Creative, bold, bright and artistic. Our engagement session was so much fun. She spent a whole afternoon with us and made sure that the locations we picked fit our personalities and style to a T. She captured all of the important moments at our wedding and then some! And we didn't even know she was there. I've been to plenty of weddings where the photographer is all over the place and really stands out, but Olivia and her assistant were perfectly placed the whole evening yet manged to get the most amazing pictures of the big moments and the small quiet ones as well. I can't say enough about her! The finished products are amazing and her communication throughout the whole process was impressive. Added bonuses included her very reasonable price, online photo viewer so you can share your photos with family and friends, and as a member of Greener Photography, she fit right in with our eco-friendly wedding theme. Choosing Olivia to photograph our wedding was one of the easiest decisions we had to make and certainly one of the best! Thank you Olivia!!

Olivia is exceptional in all aspects. We are so happy she was able to photograph our wedding.
Not only were we thrilled with the photographs but we have received so many compliments. (Not those empty "you are such a beautiful bride" ones either, but actual compliments on the photography.)
My wedding was in the middle of a hurricane. Olivia turned that nightmare into a beautiful portfolio of photographs that we will treasure. Sometimes I even forget what mess it was.
She went above and beyond any expectations I had and I found her to be especially affordable as well. I recommend her to any bride I meet with complete confindence.
You should defiantly give her serious consideration.

Quality of service: Our photos are gorgeous. We have become 'those people' who have multiple wedding photos of themselves blown up and plastered on the walls all over the house! Also, family members are still raving about them, months later. It's heartwarming to talk to my parents and hear them say they've shown yet ANOTHER friend all the pictures. I love that Olivia could help prolong their happiness over my wedding in this way.

Responsiveness: We scheduled everything (engagement session & wedding details) via phone and email. Olivia was always very responsive, even on weekends, when we were sure she'd be busy working and figured she'd be slower in responding. She never was!

Professionalism: Okay. If someone can corral families together and manage to keep the bride and groom from completely freaking out while taking great pictures, that's an A+ in my book.

Value for cost: From the research we conducted on photographers in the area (RI), Olivia's rates were VERY competitive. Our total cost reflects our engagement session, all the wedding photography, and the digital pictures.

Flexibility: Olivia was really flexible, not only with her schedule, but also with her wedding package. We rescheduled our engagement session with no problem, and made a couple of switches to the packages to get exactly what we wanted. Easy as pie!

In all honesty, we feel like we totally lucked out finding Olivia. She was genuinely happy for us and her enthusiasm for her art really shows in our photos. She was a pleasure to work with, and we recommend her wholeheartedly.

Olivia (and her assistant, Dawn) was an excellent decision on our part. It was a little outside our budget (hence the ever-so-slight deduction) but we found ways to make it work, and Olivia was flexible with planning so we could make it happen. She caught some fabulous moments, and we got the photos digitally after the wedding, right about when I started to get really eager to see them!
