When it comes to florals, it was hard for us to envision the types and colors that would be perfect to reflect our wedding day. We didn’t want to be excessive but we wanted the pops of color to be colorful and lively but elegant. When we had our meeting with Kristen from Olivera, she really took the time to understand our vision and our personalities. She collaborated with us, offering expert guidance while incorporating our ideas and preferences. She was responsive, attentive, and committed to making our vision a reality. She eased our worries, allowing us to enjoy the wedding planning journey. The result was a floral arrangement that felt uniquely "us" and perfectly complemented our wedding theme.

I can't gush enough about this team and their work! Honestly, Olivera made our wedding what it was. My husband and I were blown away with how they took an already beautiful wedding space to a whole other level and made it so "us."
Sarah and Kristen provided florals for both our rehearsal dinner as well as our wedding. Collaborating with them was so much fun, and they made the process seamless. They took our vision, and elevated the final product beyond anything we could've imagined. We stressed to them that we trusted their expertise, and loved unique ideas, and they really showed up!
For the ceremony space, Sarah suggested setting up the guest chairs in a partial circle so our family and friends were surrounding us, and hanging the floral installation above us in the center. It came together beautifully! We also expressed wanting something a little different than traditional corsages for our moms on the big day, and Olivera created two modern, floral gold cuffs for them. They turned out perfect, and our moms loved them! Sarah provided advice above and beyond the florals too and steered us in the right direction with the finer details that brought the overall color scheme together flawlessly (e.g., napkins and flatware that matched the taper candles and votives from Olivera).
Sarah and Kristen are an incredibly talented team, and wonderful people! They went above and beyond to ensure every detail was perfect for us. You can tell they truly enjoy what they do and take pride in their work (when Sarah brought me my bouquet the day of the wedding, I couldn't tell if I was more excited or her! Haha). I can't stress enough how amazing Olivera is. We're so thankful for everything they did to make our day so special! -

Once we settled on a Spring wedding we knew pretty immediately that we wanted to prioritize our florals - and that we specifically wanted to work with Olivera after seeing their gorgeous portfolio online and work on Instagram. Kristen made the process so easy from initial consultation to the final result. The proposal she put together nailed our vision, merging both of our desires and the final result totally exceeded our expectations. One of my favorite moment from our wedding day was when she presented me with my bridal bouquet as it was not only stunning but surreal. We have received so many compliments from our guests commenting that our flowers went way beyond what's typically expected at a wedding to works of art that were tied the decor and aesthetic of our day together. Couldn't recommend them enough! -

The favorite part of my wedding was my florals HANDS DOWN! Kristen and Sarah were an absolute dream to work with and I fully trusted them to make my vision come true. I really let Kristen take the reins of planning and design with the direction of white florals, lots of greenery, classic, timeless, black tie and she truly brought it to life! So thankful to have Olivera with me on my special day! -

We had more compliments on our wedding flowers than any other aspect of our wedding. Olivera Floral understood my vision better than I did and made the entire day so BEAUTIFUL. Kristen was available for several consultations with my mom, fiancé and mother-in-law. I didn’t fully understand the importance of flowers and loved them more than I could ever have imagined. She executed our colorful vision within a reasonable budget and most importantly her talent was clear from the beginning so I never worried that it wouldn’t come together day of! -

I am a bride who loves flowers and when I saw what Olivera had to offer, I was impressed. After my first meeting with Kristen, I was even more excited. She was super organized, friendly and knowledgeable. Then COVID happened, and Kristen and Sarah weathered the storm with me. At the end of the day, through constant changes and shifts, the flowers were STUNNING!!!! Not only was I obsessed, I received compliment after compliment from guests regarding the flowers. I wish they could have lived forever but they will in the photos and it truly was just a perfect wedding, thanks to so many including Kristen and Sarah at Olivera! -

From the beginning I knew I wanted Olivera to do my wedding flowers! I was familiar with their work and meeting with Sarah to create my vision was a breeze. I had planned on a bright/neutral spring palette but due to COVID we were reschedule to Halloween! I left a lot of creative choice up to Sarah since I knew she would not disappoint she helped changed the color palette to be more appropriate and even had white pumpkins! Their flower, color, and texture combinations received so many compliments. I was so in love with my bouquet! They also went above and beyond for set up and break down. I highly recommend Olivera Floral Design! -

We were suppose to get married in May 2020, but postponed to May of next year and decided to have a small ceremony in August 2020. With so much going in to the May wedding, we really wanted to be surprised and have fun with the August wedding. I had received flowers from Olivera before, so I knew I loved their work, but WOW! I sent her the table cloths we were using and told her to have fun with it, that we didn't want to know what anything was going to look like until the day of. They went above and beyond! The variety of flowers that were used was unreal, many I had never seen before. They took one small detail and made everything come to life! I have received so many compliments already and they are just from pictures taken with phones. I highly recommend Kristen and Sarah! -

Brought my vision to life!
The ladies at Proper Petal were so great to work with, and were able to take my vision for a neutral, textural palette and turn it into the most stunning florals for the wedding party, ceremony, and reception. Working with them was a dream from beginning to end– I described what I was looking for, and they were very clear about pricing, and made a mood board that we discussed together at regular intervals ahead of the wedding. Their mood board broke down the florals into each part of the wedding day– bouquets, boutonnieres, ceremony florals, centerpieces, sweetheart table, which was so helpful in my picturing all the elements together. Everyone that day, including the other vendors, raved about the flowers. They honestly brought the exact feel that I was going for– modern with a touch of bohemian, warm neutrals, tons of texture– to life. They are worth every penny! -

When you're planning a wedding people always tell you, "Don't spend money on flowers. People don't even notice them!" Those people wrong :) You should promptly ignore them hire the WILDLY talented ladies at the Proper Petal. My husband and I are officially Not Flower People, but even we were blown away by the amazing creativity and talent of the PP ladies. The flowers could not have been more spot-on -- happy, modern, cheery, a little retro, and not too big or over the top. They delivered on everything we asked for and went above and beyond, purchasing new vases and compote vases to match our theme without extra charge. We got SO many compliments and they are a true difference-maker in all of our photos. Thank you, thank you for being great thought partners who are so easy to work with! -

From the first time I saw photos of their work, I fell in love. You can tell that these ladies are real artists with their craft, and can create such dynamic arrangements that reflect a wide variety of styles. Sarah was such a pleasure to work with, and she took lots of time and care to respond to all of my emails and meet several times over coffee to discuss all the details and "feel" we were going for. From the beginning of planning, I had a good sense of the palette I wanted (navy and dusty blue with pops of sunset colors), but not much else in terms of flower type or look. Sarah took my description and palette and ran with it, and I was blown away day of. The colors came together perfectly, and really popped against our blue linens. So so pretty. Above all, they are kind, compassionate, and flexible. When we needed to reschedule our wedding due to Hurricane Florence, they were understanding and found space for us in their schedule for our "re-do." And a few weeks before the wedding, when I couldn't decide if I wanted florals in my hair, Sarah provided a few different options for me to decide in the moment - Which was perfect, as my bridesmaids scooped up whatever I didn't choose. They are just the best! I am in awe of what this two-woman team is able to accomplish (though I'm not surprised - they are awesome!). -

We had a phenomenal experience with Proper Petal. Kristen really helped me with my "vision" and she created such a beautiful flower scheme to compliment all of my colors. Practically perfect in every way!
The Proper Petal is absolutely fantastic and a must have for your wedding or event! Kristen and the team were incredibly friendly and patient with my scatterbrained ideas, keeping me organized with a really helpful Pinterest board. They were able to take all of my thoughts and pull them together to create the most beautiful and creative floral arrangements I’ve ever seen, all while keeping to a reasonable budget!
Our floral setup was quite complex, and they did it effortlessly in the very short amount of time that they had access in the venue. They never seemed stressed about the timing and were incredibly professional.
All of my friends and family continue to talk about the flowers months later. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the Richmond area, you can’t go wrong! -

I knew I wanted a fall palette for my September wedding, but other than that I really didn't know where to begin with flowers. Kristen met my planner, my husband and me at a cafe close to my house on a weekend. It was so incredibly convenient for us! I described my (limited) vision and she was very engaged in asking me questions to be able to create my vision. After the meeting, Proper Petal set up our own private pinterest page and pinned pictures of flowers based on our meeting. I was also able to pin anything that looked good to me. It was a really easy way to collaborate! Kristen and Sarah transformed my limited idea of a fall palette into a unique work of art for my wedding while staying within our budget.
I cannot thank Proper Petal enough for transforming my vision into reality! I highly recommend their services. -

Kristen was also a true delight to work with. She is so kind, and gives wonderful attention to detail and took great effort to understand our vision. She created a Pinterest board to share ideas with me and made several phone calls to discuss ideas and details.
Of every vendor we worked with, Kristen receives my highest recommendation because she has the ability to take any idea and make it even more beautiful than you could imagine, and she can transform any space into whatever you could dream of. Her talent and ability are limitless. -

The flowers turned out absolutely perfect - beautiful, simple, colorful, and natural looking! Bonus - she hooked me up with Grace in Bloom, a local company that picks up flower arrangements after events and takes them to local nursing homes. I was so happy to be able to donate our flowers after the reception to make someone else's day a little brighter :) -

Kristen and the Olivera team absolutely KILLED It on our wedding day. The pinterest that she pulled together looked good, but truthfully we really didn't know what the flowers would looked like. The flowers were INCREDIBLE - they were the most unbelievable surprise of the whole day and everyone kept commenting on how stunning they were. She totally brought our vision to life and the arch was honestly breathtaking. Not to mention, Kristen and her team were SO sweet and wonderful to work with, in addition to being professional, knowledgeable, and creative. 5/5 would recommend! -

We hired Olivera for our wedding flowers, and we are so happy that we did! Kristen and Sarah are incredibly talented and executed our vision perfectly. Working with them was so fun. We wanted our wedding floral design to look romantic and timeless - we requested limited greenery and more architectural styling as well as an adherence to a specific color palette. Kristen and Sarah really listened to our vision, which we sincerely appreciated, and delivered exactly what we requested. Our altar arrangement was gorgeous as were all the bouquets and other arrangements. Their selection of floral “accessories” was also great! There were a lot of different ribbon colors, vases, etc. to choose from, and we ended up renting various candles, votives, etc. from Olivera too which made things easier for us. All our guests kept remarking on how beautiful everything looked. We highly recommend Olivera and can’t thank Kristen and Sarah enough for their work! -

Beautiful flowers
Flowers made me nervous because you pay a lot for something you don't see until the day of, but Sarah did a great job. She worked with my budget and makes you a pinterest inspo board that helps show what your final product will look like. The flowers on the day of arrived on time, looking great. She also arranged the centerpieces for my tables with her flowers along with my DIY pieces. They are not the cheapest option in Richmond, but definitely delivered quality. -
