From start to finish, everything was a dream....12/10. Just speaking of the Old Tappan Manor i have heard the term "hidden gem" soooo many times and i can see how its true. Truly a gem and absolutely gorgeous. Victor did an amazing job guiding us through the menu and customizing everything for us...you should definitely trust him. They guided us with vendors and literally every other aspect which was SUCH a big help. They truly care and amazing. When walked into the ballroom for the first-time, I actually thought i couldn't breath for a second. I became slightly dizzy out of sheer amazement from how beautiful everything looked all set up. We had the PERFECT night and got so many compliments. I would definitely recommend the old Tappan manor for anyone who wants their dream wedding.

This venue is truly a hidden gem in Bergen County! From start to finish, the entire team at OTM was beyond accommodating and made our wedding day absolutely seamless. They answered every question before the event... and trust me, my mother had a lot of questions... with patience and professionalism. On the day of the wedding, they were so kind and attentive. My husband and I didn’t have to think about a single thing on the wedding day. Anytime I needed something on the big day, it was taken care of before we even realized we needed it. I had multiple bridal attendants helping me, which made the day run so smoothly. Joe, the owner, is the absolute best and Rich and Victor were incredibly helpful too. They’re true professionals who know exactly what they’re doing, and it shows. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!! I would highly recommend using the venue for your wedding, or any other celebratory event!

Absolutely so glad that I found this venue. It’s so gorgeous inside and out, requires minimal decor but I still added a bit to personalize my wedding. Rich was amazing throughout the whole process. The venue was flexible and met our specific needs every step of the way. My only thing was that we had to pay extra to get into the venue early (10am) on the day of to get ready in the bridal suites. I figured because there is only one wedding (ours) that day it should have been complimentary, but I guess that’s their policy.

My husband and I got married at the Old Tappan Manor in May and it was the absolute perfect day. We could not have asked for a better venue! While we had signed on under previous management and had our contacts change a few times before the wedding day, we were very happy to end up with Victor as our manager and main contact. He did a great job making us feel comfortable that everything would go perfectly, and then him and his team did just that and executed the perfect wedding day! Lauren was also a fabulous matr’D and the bridal attendant blew me away with how great and attentive she was! We are beyond apply with our choice of reception venue!

5/5! 10/10! 20/20! Amazing place and food for a king. Everything was perfect in every way. And they recently went through a renovation.

My husband and I hosted our beautiful wedding this past April in Old Tappan Manor . The venue is very pretty and does not need much decor . The waterfall in the back area is gorgeous and was my main backdrop for photos . Vincent is great and was very accommodating to all of our needs . Our guests loved the food and the simple beauty of the venue . All in all, we are happy with our decision in choosing Old Tappan Manor as our wedding venue .

From start to finish, this venue is a true gem. They were the easiest to work with and were amazing the day of the wedding. My guests are still raving about the food and the service!! If you’re looking for a beautiful wedding venue with amazing people, look no further.

From the moment we booked this venue we only had positive experiences. We worked with Vincent, who couldn't have been lovelier. He's super responsive and gives great advice/can answer any questions. A total pro. All of my guests are still raving about how amazing the food was. There are SO many options for cocktail hour, it was hard to choose. We did custom cocktails at the bar & added an exit station of pretzels and churros. All around, everyone loved all the food and drinks. We got married off site (at St.
Pius X), but there's a beautiful outdoor space, if that's something you're interested in utilizing. Our guests took a lot of photos at the waterfall at night.
The ballroom itself is so gorgeous, we did pampas centerpieces and a few other decorations (sweetheart table arch & floor vases), but really you don't need much to decorate this place. It looks incredible no matter what. The staff at our wedding was incredible, quick and friendly. Kept the party going. I really only have great things to say about this place. They made our wedding a real party. It was perfect!

Amazing! amazing! Amazing! Choosing a venue is definitely so hard but my (now) wife and I so confident know that we made the right decision. One thing that really stuck out to us was that they do one event on the premises and I can tell you IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE. This is for sure a place you should check out. Thank you Old Tappan Manor!

I honestly can not say anything better about Old Tappan. From the minute we walked in Vincent made us feel sure that we would have a great wedding there, and we 100% did. From the pure beauty of the ballroom, to the spectacular cocktail hour (gentleman's grill station is a must), an amazing reception and top notch service there isn't 1 negative thing I can say about our experience. We had the greatest day, even in the rain, everyone went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed. The maitre'd and bridal attendant were spectacular, they definitely won the award for fastest wedding dress bustle I've ever seen. Vincent kept telling us "just get here and we will take care of everything" and he was 100% right. I wish we could do it all over again, it was truly amazing.

My husband and I got married at the Old Tappan Manor on July 9, 2022 and it was the greatest night of our lives. From the start, Martin (one of the sales managers) was so friendly and accommodating. He was in contact with so many couples for many different dates, yet always made us feel like we were his top priority. The rest of the staff was just as amazing. The maître'd Lauren and bridal attendant Amada were our go-to's the day of, and they helped to make sure everything went perfectly. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous. The newly renovated ballroom features a gorgeous marble floor, uplighting and chandeliers. The food is outrageously yummy and you seriously get a bang for your buck with all that is included in the cocktail hour! This event was absolutely beautiful, the staff alone made it so perfect for us. I highly recommend hosting an event here (not just weddings!) We will absolutely be back in the future.

What a beautiful place to get married! As soon as we walked inside I knew this would be the place! We met with Martin and he is friendly, patient, kind, easy to talk to. I can’t say enough about how helpful he was with the wedding planning. Our original date was April 2021 but during Covid/ before vaccinates we didn’t think enough people would come and be able to enjoy our wedding. Martin made us feel comfortable every time we saw him and took the time to answer any questions we had, we could always call or email him and he got right back to us. He was very honest with what was going on. The day of our wedding 8/05/21 Martin, Lauren, and Adada were amazing!!! Adada made sure I was okay, if I needed to pee she was there to help me. Lauren made sure we were both calm and enjoying ourselves. Martin made sure we ate and made sure everything was smooth. My husband’s grandparents who were in wheelchairs called to tell us how well taken care of they were by Lauren and Martin. Many guests called us after to tell us how beautiful Old Tappan Manor was. If you haven’t seen it, it’s a must see with a big ballroom and beautiful windows, the waterfall in the back is amazing for gorgeous pictures. And can’t forget the beautiful gazebo in the front. I will def be going back to have other events here!

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Old Tappan Manor in April after having to postpone due to COVID. Martin and his team were extremely accommodating given the circumstances and went above and beyond to make sure that our day was everything we hoped it would be. This ballroom is one of the most beautiful that I have ever seen, and the food and service are exceptional. 12 out of 10, I highly recommend.

My husband and I got married at this venue during the pandemic. We loved this venue!! Martin, the catering director, was so accommodating and very professional! Due to Covid-19, everything was very uncertain, but Martin always reassured us to feel at ease. They were very accommodating to our every need. He walked with us throughout our whole planning process! He even made sure to remind us to enjoy the day.

Amada, the Bridal Attendant, and Lauren, the Maitre D, were also very helpful on the wedding day! They were with us all throughout the event, making sure that we were well cared for (& fed something many couples forget on the wedding day)!

And the food, let me tell you.... Our guests have been raving about the food! Everything was delicious!! I hope I get to attend an event at this venue as a guest in the future so I can eat all the foods I didn't get to eat!!

We love Old Tappan Manor!!

I had my wedding here in December 2020, and it was beyond perfect. Despite all of the Covid 19 regulations and guidelines that had to be followed, Moufid and his team did a fantastic job creating the wedding of our dreams, while more importantly keeping the staff, and our guests safe.
The venue itself is very reasonably priced, beautiful (the ballroom is GORGEOUS!!!!), the food delicious, and the staff is exceptional. I want to give special recognition to Lauren our Maitre D who kept everyone in line and assured that my husband and I were happy and comfortable. She was so calm, sweet, and made sure the night went smoothly. Her hospitality really set the venue apart and was a big part of our wedding day's success. I also wanted to recognize Amada my bridal attendant who helped me maneuver my dress all night and ensured that I looked beautiful in every picture. She also braved the New Jersey December weather while we took pictures outside. She was great!
Last but not least I want to give a special thanks to Moufid. He is so calm, patient, and kind. My mother and I were constantly calling him asking questions, trying to figure out how we can safely have a wedding during these trying times, and he always had great advice and was very informed. Despite all of the constant changes and regulations Moufid helped us create the most beautiful wedding! He is truly one of a kind and the best at what he does.

I definitely recommend Old Tappan Manor for weddings and any other event. You will not regret your choice!

This review is long overdue, but I got married in August and I do not regret ever choosing this venue for our special day. I have so many good things to say about Martin because he helped us out so much leading up to the wedding to the day of.

We had our ceremony outside in the backyard and the reception in the reception hall. Looking back at videos, Martin went above and beyond when it came to the lights (changing colors, flickering, setting the mood every time). Other venues charged extra when it came to details like these, but Martin's main priority was to make us happy and it definitely showed. Throughout the day, he would come up to us and make sure everything was going well and we didn't have any complaints. Our maitre d' Lauren was also fantastic! From setting up the venue hall to going over our rehearsal with family and friends involved to also making sure things went smoothly, she was a great help. My bridal attendant (I'm sorry I forgot her name!) always made sure I was okay and took care of me, my food and drinks, and my dress. All parties made sure my husband and I were well fed - something that we heard from other friends that got married that they missed out on.

We held our tea ceremony (Chinese tradition during weddings) in the bridal suite upstairs. If the bridal party decides to get ready there, there is definitely an ample amount of space for everyone to be comfortable. I had about 20 family members in the suite during this time and it didn't feel cramped. Someone that was in charge of bringing the tea for the ceremony forgot to bring the tea, so my bridesmaids quickly ran down to Lauren and she took care of getting us tower water boiler, tea packets, and several mugs since the amount we brought weren't going to be enough to accommodate the time before heading back down for the start of the reception.

The venue itself is beautiful. The layout of the backyard (if you plan to hold an outdoor ceremony) is inviting and you also pass by an elegant waterfall/fountain which made a beautiful backdrop in pictures. The bar was located in the lobby which was good in-between for the cocktail reception area and the reception hall.

We had no complaints regarding the venue itself and received many praises for choosing a great venue. The FOOD was a big big plus - we received many compliments stating that this venue was some of the few locations that served quality food (they have their own kitchen in the back so nothing is delivered from outside)

To Martin, Lauren, my bridal attendant, the chefs, waiters, set up/break down crew, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for such a smooth and memorable day.

The Old Tappan Manor was the perfect venue for our wedding. We worked with Martin, who made sure all of our wants and desires were met. The food was excellent and the room looked perfect. The outdoor area for our ceremony was quiet, serene and just magical. We have already recommended the Old Tappan Manor to some of our friends. Also of note, Lauren (maitre'd) and Ashley (bridal attendant) were amazing, they made sure everything ran smoothly.

I will forever be so grateful to Old Tappan Manor for all they did for our wedding. This was the most accommodating and beautiful venue I could have asked for and made all the planning super easy. My guests were raving about the food weeks after the wedding and loved all the staff helping us out. Moufid helped us plan everything from Day 1 and was extremely accommodating and so friendly, thanks so much for that! Lauren is the most perfect Maitre D that exists and really knows how to get the job done. The bartenders and servers were all exceptional, fun and super attentive. Lastly, I had an incredible bridal assistant who made everything so easy for me and went above and beyond. This venue really made the best day ever for me.

Old Tappan Manor was everything we dreamed it would be and more--from the incredibly large and beautiful bridal suite to the cocktail hour to the actual reception to the photo ops--stunning waterfall and white light scenery to the gazebo all covered in gorgeous flowers and greenery! Our pictures were sensational. Martin was responsive, helpful, flexible, and kind from the moment we looked (a year and a half prior to our event) til the end of the night at our wedding. We had an amazing maitre'd and bridal attendants-- basically served us hand and foot all night but never intrusive! Our guests raved about the dance floor and the food! Cocktail hour is plentiful and scrumptious, and every single (there was A LOT) course at dinner was mouth watering. The bartenders were awesome, and each and every member of the waitstaff was friendly and courteous. We couldn't be happier with our choice of wedding venue and would recommend them endlessly!

My husband and I had our wedding reception at the OTM. It was absolutely amazing! The food, the atmosphere, the decor, and the staff did not disappoint. We worked with Moufid, who kindly guided us through the wedding preparations and told us not to worry, that guests would be talking about our wedding for days to come. That is EXACTLY what is happening! Our guests thought the food was absolutely delicious, from the extravagant cocktail hour to the Viennese dessert table. During the Viennese, which was also extravagant, guests could get cotton candy served on glow sticks! What?! Our reception exceeded our expectations, and it truly was the wedding of our dreams. Family and friends have been talking about it all day. I highly recommend using this venue!

Perfection! That's what Old Tappan Manor delivered for our wedding day! Martin Shanley and his staff thought of every detail. From the overflowing cocktail hour, the delicious main course and us cutting our exquisite wedding cake. Plus so many wonderful touches! All our guests commented on the fabulous ballroom and grounds. Old Tappan Manor provided us with the fairytale wedding we had hoped for! We could not have been happier!!

We had our wedding here recently and couldn’t have been any more thrilled with the whole experience, from our first meeting with Martin (you will love him!!!) all the way through our reception. The Old Tappan Manor was a gorgeous and elegant venue. Everyone was thrilled with all of the delicious choices at cocktail hour and the entrees were incredible. They even have a bride attendant. She was the sweetest and made my night as well as my grooms smooth and stress free along with the Maître D’. We are so happy with our decision to have our big day there and highly recommend it to couples looking for their dream venue!

OTM was a beautiful setting for our wedding. Both the cocktail hour and dinner food were delicious. The waiter and bar-tending service were all excellent and attentive, and our bridal attendant did a professional and nice job. Moufid was professional, flexible, and accommodated all our requests. It was worth every penny!!! We had 160 very happy guests who could not stop talking about the food.

My daughter had her wedding there May 19 2018. Joseph and his staff were amazing! They treated my daughter like their own. My guests raved about the food and quantity. I can’t thank them enough for making her dream come true!

I just got married in April at Old Tappan Manor at it was absolutely perfect. Venue is gorgeous with marble floors and stunning chandeliers. The grounds outside the venue are also beautiful to take pictures. We were concerned with an April wedding not being able to take nice pictures outside but there are so many different areas to take pictures (in front of a waterfall, in a gazebo or in front of greenery in the front). All of my pictures there are perfect! The food was absolutely delicious as well. The entire staff was absolutely amazing; Martin was super helpful when planning the event and Christine and Lauren were so helpful during the wedding day. Christine was right next to me the entire time to help with anything I needed; holding my flowers, throwing my veil for a picture, getting us food or even helping me change my shoes later in the night. Without this amazing staff I don’t think my day would have went so perfectly!! There was nothing that I would have changed and I highly recommend Old Tappan Manor!!!

I couldn't be happier with my choice of having our wedding at Old Tappan Manor. The team there - Moufid, Lauren and Christine - were honestly the best people ever. We got married this past Saturday, on January 20th - a winter wedding. My fiance and I planned our wedding from California and from start to finish, Moufid made the process easy and seamless. His professionalism and customer service was exceptional. The day of, Lauren took our supplies for decoration and made our vision a beautiful reality. Christine, the Bridal Attendant, was more than I could have ever asked for. Lauren and Christine were our fairy godmothers. Every guest complimented how beautiful the space was, from the reception hall to the bathrooms! Although I didn't eat any of the food, everyone said they left with full and satisfied bellies. All in all, it was the best experience I could have ever asked for and would recommend OTM to all!

I am still speechless with how incredible The Old Tappan Manor was. My husband and I got married here on October 20th, 2017. It was the most magical night. Martin was great to work with; he was so helpful. On the night of wedding, the staff was also amazing and attentive. Not only did the gorgeous ballroom blow our guests away. They also raved about the phenomenal cocktail hour and delicious food. I highly recommend OTM if you’re looking for a wedding venue that’s affordable, beautiful and has GREAT food. I hope I get to be a guest at a wedding here someday, and can experience the venue again!

LOVE the Old Tappan Manor! The staff was truly phenomenal! My Bridal Attendant, Kristine became like a best friend on my wedding day- she was there through it all; from providing me with a warm beverage while taking photos out in the cold to scrubbing the dirt out of my gown before walking down the aisle- I am grateful for it all! I would also like to mention how great our Maitre d, Lauren was. Her effective communication with the staff made our day run so smoothly. We also had the pleasure of working with Martin during our year of wedding planning. We can't say enough! We are so grateful for the prompt and always positive communication. Our guests were raving about the QUANTITY and QUALITY of the food as well as how beautiful the venue is. The recent renovations made our dream of a romantic wintery wedding come true =) We hope to be able to attend a future affair at the Old Tappan Manor!

I don't even know where to begin or how to fully express how amazing everyone was at OTM. We looked at many venues during the planning process but once I saw the ballroom I was sold. The marble flooring and the chandeliers are stunning. The grounds are beautiful and intimate and I knew we would get some amazing outdoor photos. Living out of state my mom did a lot of the leg work for me. She worked with Martin who was beyond amazing from start to finish. He made us feel like family and that we were the only wedding on his mind. The day of the wedding Rich took care of making sure everyone was where they needed to be. He was organized, professional and had a good sense of humor (which was a good thing when dealing with our wedding party!) Lauren was my bridal attendant and I don't know what I would have done without her that day. She anticipated my every want and need. My bridal party loved her too. She is just an awesome person and so good at her job. The food was delicious. The cocktail hour was important to both my husband and I and we were not disappointed! Our guest are still raving about the food. The service during the reception was on point. We had a few guest that were in the restaurant business and they were so impressed by the food and the service. Having our wedding at Old Tappan Manor was the best decision we made. I can't thank everyone working that day enough in helping to make our wedding all that we wanted and more.

I have nothing but good things to say about the Old Tappan Manor. Martin and Rich went above and beyond to make our wedding perfect. Not only was the space exactly what I was looking for, a beautiful ballroom and outdoor space for the ceremony, but they were incredibly accommodating. I have celiac disease and one thing that was especially important to me was the ability to eat whatever I wanted on my wedding day. Martin and Dave (the chef) worked with us to create a special menu that was 100% gluten free. They made sure that there was no chance I'd be sick on my big day. The food tasted amazing and no-one even realized it was gluten-free! Thank you so much for being such a big part of our day!

Our experience for our wedding was top notch! From the first meeting with Joseph to our second meeting with Rich all the way to our wedding day was absolutely perfect. They are so accommodating and made us worry free on our special day. The food was incredible, our guests are still talking about it! Lauren the bridal attendant went ABOVE & BEYOND the entire day through the evening to not only myself and my groom but also my bridesmaids, giving us drinks and ensuring we were getting everything we needed. Rich our Maitre D was incredible as well, always ensuring everything went smoothly from the moment we walked into the door. Highly recommend this venue!

Ack such an overdue review! This was for our wedding in December 2016. Could not have been happier with the service and the day! The Old Tappan Manor is a well-oiled machine, meaning they are amazing at keeping time and making sure things are not delayed or taking too long. They made sure we rehearsed the ceremony beforehand so everyone knew exactly what to do, where to stand, etc. We were brought into the bridal suite during cocktail hour and there was already a table filled with food for us to consume (which I was glad to do!) and they made sure nobody bothered us - it was GREAT to have that little bit of time to ourselves! Lauren (the bridal attendant) was WONDERFUL, even took the time to figure out who was who (family, bridal party, etc) and was so personable and did a fabulous job. Rich, the maitre'd was also great, super organized and really knows what he's doing. Martin was also great to deal with before and during the wedding. The food was amazing, our guests STILL talk about how good everything was. The ooooonly thing I did have to ask for during the wedding was to turn the lights down during the free dancing, but that took less than a minute to be done. Anyway, if you are thinking about having your wedding here - do it! It's a beautiful property, the food is fabulous, and the service is top-notch!

Old Tappan Manor is a hidden gem of Bergen County!! Not only is it absolutely STUNNING (from the details on the moldings to the color of the carpet to the landscaping!) but everyone that works there is incredibly helpful, and from what I heard, the food was incredible! (We got to eat, but I admittedly don't remember much except that it was delicious! My mission is to get to go as a guest to really be able to eat it ALL!) I felt like everyone that worked there was really on a mission to make sure we had a perfect day and we did! Lauren, the bridal attendant, deserves a special shout out though. My friends who are already married were actually jealous of how amazing she was, compared to the attendants they had all had. THANK YOU OLD TAPPAN MANOR!!!!

An all around perfect wedding venue experience!! Just had our wedding reception at the OTM in October 2016. It was everything and more - and I am a very particular type of person. The short answer is: OTM is perfect - no compromising required (physical aesthetic, staff, food, price ALL excellent). Absolutely a diamond in the ruff of NY/NJ wedding venues!! We stumbled upon this venue while doing our initial list generation - neither of us had ever been to or knew anyone who had been to OTM for functions.

The OTM was the perfect setting for our wedding. We had many people coming from out of town and having the ceremony and reception in one location was important to us. The food was second to none. As my bride, I regret that I didn't get a chance to enjoy as much of my food as my guests did. The venue was stunning, the perfect backdrop for our photos. Family and friends continue to comment on what an outstanding time they had. Rich was the maitre d', and Lauren was the bridal attendant. They both were on the ball and readily available whenever we needed them. We could not recommend the OTM highly enough.

We got married here in August and it was love at first sight! From the first moment we met Martin, all of our needs and wants were never a problem. He honestly made the reception the easiest part to plan. The whole place is gorgeous and breathtaking. Even though my husband's party caused us to be 45 minutes late (something always has to go wrong lol) Old Tappan Manor was nothing but accommodating. Martin made sure the photographer stayed on track so that my husband and I could actually enjoy time alone. Everyone is still talking about the amazing time they had. From the delicious and extravagant cocktail hour to the beautiful chandeliers and marble all over the place. I wish I could do it again all over!! Martin even personally told me when he was heading out and made sure I was OK before hand. Of course I was because he left everything in the hands of Rich, the matre'd. The bridal assistant was also very attentive and she made me feel like it was still about my husband and me even though we all know it wasn't lol! You will not be making a mistake having your reception here. Everything is perfect from the bathrooms to the food to the landscaping. And not to mention, it was much more bang for your buck than the 10 other venues we looked at. Thank you Martin and the rest of the Old Tappan Manor staff for making another couple have the wedding of their dreams!

My husband and I had our wedding here on Labor Day Weekend and had a phenomenal experience! The grounds were extremely well kept and the ballroom was nothing short of amazing. The food and service was also exceptional. Our guests are still talking about how great the food and service was. Moufid was our main point of contact throughout the entire process. He was very kind, knowledgeable, professional, and easy to work with. Richie and Lauren also did an amazing job. The OTM definitely exceeded our expectations! We recently got married at old tappan manor and we had a blast there. Everyone is very professional. Martin will work with you to make sure your wedding goes well. I can't say much about this place. You've got to go there to see it yourself. This was one of our best decision for having our wedding there.

A diamond in the suburban rough!!! So many amazing things about the Old Tappan Manor. One wedding at a time, fantastic staff from booking to day of our wedding! Great photo opps in and around the grounds! And the food was yummy and they made sure we ate!! So grateful for our families and the Old Tappan Manor for creating our dream wedding day!!!!

My fiancé & I chose Old Tappan Manor for our upcoming wedding in August 2016. We've been working with Martin and he is very friendly and accommodating. We are soooo looking forward to celebrating our wedding at this beautiful venue with all of our friends & family!

I got married at Old Tappan Manor on NYE and it was the greatest night of our lives. The food, the venue itself, the staff, and of course the booze, were all phenomenal. I'm not really sure what a typical wedding venue, including food, usually costs, but we booked over a year in advance, and i feel like it was pretty reasonably priced for one of the most fun wedding nights of the year. We booked with Martin and even though I was constantly e-mailing him and calling him this past year with random questions, he was super-patient with us and never took more than 48 hours to get back to me. He really went above and beyond and was even willing to compromise on extras long after we'd booked when they were really something we wanted. The bridal suite is huge, which I also really liked and we really wanted a venue that wouldn't have multiple affairs going on at once, and OTM we were the only ones. Martin also allowed us to come in a few days early (since the venue was quiet in the week between Christmas and New Years) to set up some of the stuff - chuppah, centerpieces (we were making ourselves, etc. He was also quite clear on what was owed and when and let me know little things that I might want to take into consideration beforehand (ex: we were being allowed to come in earlier in the day to get ready so the kitchen wouldn't be open yet and we might want to order food for the bridal party, which we did). Richie was also awesome. We met with him about a week before the wedding for the first time, and met with him and Martin a few days before the wedding. Richie was on top of everything. He knew the answer to every question I had and literally did everything he could to reduce my stress level. Our bridal attendant Lauren was so great that my family wanted to bring her home. She catered to us all night, was incredibly patient and polite and had what I wanted half the time before I even asked for it! Book this place, you won't be sorry!

BEST NIGHT EVER! We had our wedding at The Old Tappan Manor on 11/20/2015 - it was truly a PERFECT night!. Martin and Rich are a delight to work with. They were very accommodating with some changes and in working with us to make sure our night was perfect. Martin was so helpful in advising us in all our appointments. We had an absolutely beautiful wedding at Old Tappan Manor! I'm so happy with all the service and accommodations they provided. Rich & Lauren took care of us all night! They made sure we were fed, had a drink in our hand & having a good time. They also took great care of our family and friends. (Very effecient and organized!) BEST DECISION! My husband and I had our wedding here a couple of weekends ago and it was the most perfect day! :) I cannot say enough good things about Old Tappan Manor. My wedding reception was at the Old Tappan Manor on September 26, 2015. Everything about our wedding was amazing. From the first time we went to see the venue and meet with Martin we knew this was the place we wanted to have our reception. The Old Tappan Manor is a beautiful, elegant, and classy venue that only has one wedding at a time! Martin is amazing to work with and is extremely helpful with the entire process. The Old Tappan Manor doesn't make you feel like just another couple walking through their doors. They really worked hard to make sure our wedding was amazing, and it was. I felt that they went above and beyond with every aspect of our wedding from the cocktail hour to the reception to the Viennese hour. We received so many compliments on everything- especially the food! The staff was amazing, especially Martin, Richie, and Lauren. They all made sure that our wedding was perfect from the second that we pulled up to the second that we pulled away. I would recommend the Old Tappan Manor to anyone and hope that I will be able to attend a wedding there sometime soon!

We just had our wedding at The Old Tappan Manor on Saturday, September 12th! We had an absolute amazing time! It was the wedding of our dreams! In the past since week since the wedding, we have received so many compliments about our wedding including how beautiful the venue was, how great the food and service was, etc. It was also very nice to be the only wedding at the venue as we got a lot of one on one attention which was great! This place is a hidden gem in the suburbs of Bergen County! My daughter had her wedding reception this past Saturday, August 29th at the Old Tappan Manor. This was by far the best wedding reception I have ever attended! From the first day I met with Martin Shanley, the manager until the end of the evening when I said goodbye to the maître d\' Rich everything was handled with perfection and the utmost care was given to all. \r\nThe outside of the venue is meticulously manicured and they have a beautiful waterfall which is a great drop back for pictures.\r\nThe bridal party has a beautiful private room to start their evening with a private cocktail time.\r\nThe cocktail hour room with beautiful and the food was plentiful.\r\nThe reception room looked like a place out of a fairy tale book. It was magnificent. The chandeliers glistened and the lights had just the right touch. The room is surrounded by huge windows and the back window allows the view of the water fall. The flowers were from the Orangeburg Florist in Blauvelt, New York and they added the final touch to the room.\r\nThe food was out of this world and the wait staff was attentive to all.\r\nMy guests have not stopped talking about this wonderful wedding. I only wish it was last week so I could do it all over again!\r\nI highly recommend the Old Tappan Manor to anyone looking for a venue for any occasion. This is the place to be!\r\n

My Husband and I had our reception here on June 6, 2015. After searching many locations about 2 years ago, I was consistently disappointed that I could not find a place I loved. Then, I stumbled upon Old Tappan Manor through some more rigorous searching. I called and made an appointment to see it 2 days later. I was immediately impressed with the location, grounds, and amazing ballroom. I fell in love with it before Martin came down to meet me. We worked with Martin Shanley through pretty much all of the steps. He was easy to get in touch with and followed up on every question I had for him, even the minor ones. On top of that, I felt that Old Tappan Manor went above and beyond to give us little extras. Our Maitre d Richie was also great to work with. I only met him a week before the wedding, but everything went smooth thanks to him. Martin was also present throughout the entire reception which made me feel even more confident about the night going smoothly. My husband and I were married at Old Tappan Manor on May 30, 2015 (this past Saturday). We worked with Martin Shanley through most of the process and were pleased with everything! The grounds are absolutely breathtaking (the gorgeous gazebo, the waterfall cascade with patio, the stunning ballroom) and the service was excellent!

There was a minor issue with the sushi station (apparently there was a car accident and the sushi did not arrive on time), but Martin quickly let us know about the issue, assured us they were getting replacement sushi, and offered to reimburse us the amount we paid for it! The replacement sushi arrived towards the end of our cocktail hour and Martin made sure not only that people were able to get some before the reception but also that we received a plate of it after our cocktail hour. People also really enjoyed the mashed potato bar, the carving station, as well as so many of the other delicious food available. The level of attention to detail was incredible!

Throughout the night, all of our guests kept commenting on how great all of the food was and how attentive the waiters were. The facilities were clean and well maintained. We had a fantastic time and I would highly recommend Old Tappan Manor to any fellow bride and groom looking for a stunning place in northern NJ to celebrate your big day!!!!

My husband I were married at the Old Tappan Manor on 10/3/2014. They truly went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect.

From the start, we met with Martin who answered all of our questions and went out of his way to accommodate us. It felt like he truly wanted us to have the best day of our lives as opposed to other more expensive venues in the area who seemed to not really care if we chose them or not. We also got a food tasting which was not offered by most other venues in the area.

Our day-of maitre d' was Richie who was also fantastic. He organized everything so well and was so helpful and kind. We had a first look at a park prior to arriving to the OTM. When we arrived we had attendants who were offering drinks to the entire bridal party in the huge bridal suite.

Since we had the ceremony there, the room was converted during cocktail hour. The ceremony was so so beautiful. The tables were covered by nice curtains and the lighting with the chandeliers and the gorgeous fountain background was just perfect.

During cocktail hour, we were brought upstairs to have some time alone before heading down to greet everyone. We were brought up whatever we wanted to eat or drink. It was a really nice time alone before the crazy reception.

The reception was perfect. Family and friends are still raving about the food, the atmosphere and the huge bar.

Old Tappan Manor made my wedding unbelievable!!!!! The staff was responsive to whatever my guests and I requested. We had our wedding at Old Tappan Manor and it was perfect!! The reception room was stunning and the entire venue was well kept. From the start, Martin was a pleasure to work with. He worked with all of my ideas (and I had many) to make our night unique and unforgettable. Martin and the staff at Old Tappan Manor were kind to all of our guests. They took great care of myself and my husband. One thing that Martin recommended was that my husband and I take some time to ourselves in the bridal suite. We took about 30 minutes during the cocktail hour and it was the best idea!! Martin brought us up food so we didn't miss out on anything. It was really special to spend that time with my husband because the night went by so fast and we were so busy dancing and mingling with our guests, we didn't get the chance to take a break to enjoy being husband and wife for the first time. I have Martin to thank for that awesome idea! The food was amazing, my guests are still raving about it! We had moved out of state and with me being an anxious bride, I had called Martin a few times with questions or ideas. He was extremely personable and so easy to work with. Old Tappan Manor is probably one of the best venues out here in Bergen County NJ. The food is excellent! This is no exaggeration. Everyone loved the food. People were actually so full from the cocktail hour, that they barely had enough room for dinner. Martin goes out of his way to make your day special. Put in a request, and he'll do his best to make sure it happens. 3 things that most newly weds worry about on their day is the food, the dj, and the photography. If you choose this place, you might as make it 2 things to worry about because this place beats out any other location within the tri-state area. They only do 1 wedding per session (Day or Night). That was a huge plus for us. We come from a caribbean background (Haitian and Dominican), so you know food, spices, etc are very important. This food was not lacking in flavor at all. Enjoy!

We had such a great experience with our wedding reception at the Old Tappan Manor. The maitre d, Martin, was quick to respond to emails and phone calls, and was very helpful throughout the planning process. His attention and professionalism was second to none on the day of the wedding. Even my father commented on how great Martin was, and he’s a hard person to impress! When we arrived in the limo, Martin was outside waiting for us. He escorted the bridal party into the cocktail hour room early so that they could eat before heading back outside to take pictures. He escorted me & my husband up to the bridal suite and brought us drinks and a variety of cocktail hour food. He told us to take as long as we wanted and to come down for pictures when we were ready. This was absolutely key: my husband was adamant about not missing out on the cocktail hour for pictures, and we were starving by the time we arrived. It was also nice to have a few minutes alone together before the reception started. This wasn’t something I asked for, and am so grateful that the Old Tappan Manor arranged for it!

The night went very smoothly - we had our own waitress standing by all night, and Martin found us when our dinners were served to make sure we sat down and ate them while they were hot. The décor and grounds are beautiful. I would recommend taking some pictures outside in front of the waterfall after the sun goes down…those are my favorite shots from our wedding.

The food and drink were excellent! Everything we had at our tasting was served exactly the same way that day. The decor was perfect. Martin accommodated us beautifully and flawlessly. We ended up taking pictures at the Manor due to weather and Martin made sure everything was back in place before our guests arrived. He didn't miss a thing all day and night. We recommend Old Tappan Manor to anyone looking for the three aforementioned things on their wedding day. My fiance fell in love with the ballroom and the lighting, and I was impressed with the food. Alex, Martin, Joseph, and their entire staff worked tirelessly to ensure that a good time was had by all.

One of our concerns as a same-sex couple was finding a venue that would understand the inherent differences of our wedding, yet treat us as they would any other couple. We found that, and more, with the good folks at OTM. Not only was our same-gender union a non-issue, but by having only one event at a time, we were really given personal and individual attention that other reception sites couldn't offer to us. We were thrilled with the results!

Our wedding at Old Tappan Manor was wonderfully lovely! When we first came to visit, we fell in love with the banquet hall since it was such a large hall with high ceilings, no pillars (so it doesn't block anyone's view) and had dazzling chandeliers. The staff was very accommodating and our head caterer (Martin) and maitre'd (Alex) helped us greatly when figure out how to coordinate and prepare for the reception. They were great help and always had a warm and personal attitude whenever we came to visit the venue. Their service during the actual reception was wonderful and they treated us extremely special that day! They made sure we took time to eat and made sure we had food ready when we needed it so that we can continue smoothly through the reception. They kept us on schedule and knew how to adapt to changes if needed (i.e. if some activities like the speeches during the reception took longer than expected). They were very helpful to make sure things were laid out exactly as we wanted. They went above and beyond what we imagined and helped us perform tasks even though they were not responsible for those services. We were greatly appreciative of their staff and their attention to detail that made the reception lovely. The food was amazing and we received compliments from our guests for all of the food from cocktail, entree to dessert. Martin and his staff did a wonderful job coordinating distribution of food based on our schedule and worked closely with our DJ. Alex was a wonderful host and demonstrated an exciting flambe towards the end that our guests loved and delighted in seeing. Overall, we enjoyed working with the folks at Old Tappan and would greatly recommend their services to anyone! We look forward to going back to Old Tappan Manor hopefully as guests to another wedding so we can enjoy their great food and hospitality again!

Absolutely AMAZING! Alex and his team are extremely accommodating to make your day unique and special. They were prompt in their responses and the whole event went off without a hitch. The food was unbelievable and there were people actually licking their plates! The venue itself it just stunning! The main room has awesome up lighting and chandeliers that are jaw dropping! They even made my husband as a gift a beautiful Ice Sculpture for the cocktail hour of the NY Giants (he loved it!) The cocktail hour food was also full of varieties (go with the mash potato martini bar-HUGE HIT!) Love them and I highly recommend them!

This place was by far the BEST!!! From the landscaping outside, the amount of food, the taste of the food to the beautiful ballroom and most of all the value for your money. Everything was brand new, even down to the smell. The LED lighting was so worth it. We had a Cinderella wedding and The Old Tappan Manor accentuated this to a tee. Joe and Alex were very accomodating and professional. I wish it was longer. We had a blast!!!! Plus a hugh bonus was the Photobooth. Our guests said that they have never been to a better wedding by far.

I had my daughters Sweet 16 there last month... I know its not a wedding but with a 150 people it may have well been. I searched the internet for reviews before booking and had such a hard time finding any and realized it is probably because they shut down for renovations. The Old Tappan Manor is absolutly gorgeous now night and day from what it was years ago. The service, the food, the environment from start to finish was above and beyond my expectactions. Dealing with Alex was so easy he took care of everything and made sure every detail was covered. I could only say wonderful things about this venue and highly recommend it to any bride looking for a beautiful place to get married.

I had my wedding there a little lesson than 2 years ago, before they renovated. You get a lot for your money! It's in a nice residential area but has pleanty of parking and they valet. It was beautiful! People still tell me that is was the best wedding they ever went to. The grounds are also pretty and I got nice photos near the fountain and grounds. Alex handled my wedding. Everything was straightforward and no hidden fees at all. The food was the best part! It kept coming and was DELICIOUS! The staff did an amazing job! The flambe show was great! You won't regret this place.

From our first meeting, Alex listened to our wishes, and having been in this business for decades, wasn't shy to add his two cents.
The cocktail hour was more than plentiful. We were given six choices of stations and our 165 guests were never in want. Some of the highlights were the Mashed Potato Martini bar, the carving station (my father-in-law said it was the best lamb he'd ever tasted) and the risotto station. The Tuscan style cold-food station was literally overflowing.
The reception itself is in a stunning ballroom with HIGH arched ceiling adorned with a dozen or so chandeliers. The main chandelier makes the one from the Phantom of the Opera blush. There is a large, marbled dance-floor, which we used from the moment we were introduced until the very end of the reception with an hour or so pause when we of course had to make our rounds to greet our guests. The table service was immaculate. All of the staff were courteous, efficient, and professional.
The appetizer was waiting for us when we entered, and the main entree of salmon and beef charbriand was to taste and then some. Most people say that the cocktail hour has the best food at most venues, but the Old Tappan Manor really came to bat for the main hour dining. I didn't meet the chef, but he comes from the Rockleigh Country Club, which by the way, charges more than double what the Manor does. Having been to many functions at the RCC, I have to say without a doubt that the Manor is the better venue.
After the dinner, there was more dancing. The bar more than kept up with our thirsty crew.
THe dessert presentation was very entertaining especially for kids. Thank you, Alex and the Manor for hosting our wedding. It went better than I could imagine.

Martin was so very professional, thoughtful and helpful throughout the planning and the wedding. The entire staff was courteous, friendly and helpful.. and the food was THE BEST!!!!!!! Thank you ALL for making our daughter's wedding day a day to cherish!!

We loved the Old Tappan Manor! Martin helped us along the process with telling us what decisions we had to make. That night he made everything run as smoothly as possible! The venue is just beautiful and the food was amazing. My guests were raving about it for weeks. I would highly recommend the Old Tappan Manor for any event!

We looked at countless wedding venues in the year prior to our wedding, but we knew when we walked into The Old Tappan Manor that this was it! Martin was our contact from start to finish – answering our initial email and in attendance the night of the reception. Martin was able to work within our budget, especially since we were open to a Sunday night wedding.

We can’t stress enough how grand the cocktail hour was, just incredible the quality and quantity of the food! Our guests raved about the passed hors d'oeuvres, carving stations, pasta stations, Polish & German & Italian stations and more! The cocktail space comfortably fit our 120 guests, but we could see it getting a tad crowded with larger weddings. Also, the dinner choices were amazing – we received a TON of compliments on the Filet Mignon, one of the BEST we’ve ever had, cooked to perfection.

As far as the grounds, it’s really something you must see in person – this place is a true hidden gem. The ballroom is simply stunning, complete with marble floors throughout and breathtaking chandeliers. The ballroom also has different lighting features that can be adjusted to your taste! Just beyond the ballroom are doors leading to a picturesque waterfall – a pristine picture opportunity not only for us as bride and groom, but for all our guests as well! If you travel out into the front of the building you can also utilize the gazebo for additional photo ops! Just about a week before our event when dropping off the final payment, we did have to ask about the change of the summer flowers to fall mums and if they would be changed before our big day – which they were! But something to keep in mind if you plan to have your wedding when the seasons change.

The night of our wedding reception was amazing and we wish we could re-live it again and again! Martin was able to work with their distributor to secure us some craft beer and a special tequila request for our guests. Lauren was our Maître’ D, and she was FANTASTIC, we can’t say enough about her – she knew exactly what to do, when to do it, and how to get it done. We also had “D” as our bridal attendant, she was at our sides throughout the ENTIRE night, asking what we needed before we even knew we needed something. The bartenders and waiters did their jobs wonderfully; there was never a line at the bar to get a drink, and the waiters really wowed our guests with their attentiveness – we received multiple comments on how great they were.

We can’t say thank you enough to everyone at the OTM who helped make our wedding day PERFECT! We look forward to coming back as guests for an event in the future so we can enjoy it all over again!

We had a great experience with the Old Tappan Manor. The big draw for us was the beautiful ballroom which needed very little decorating. Martin Shanley was our Catering Director and he did a great job all the way through. No matter what our request was we never heard the word "no". Super professional, great staff, great venue. We got so many compliments from our guests, especially on the cocktail hour (highly recommend the mashed potato bar). The event ran smoothly, even with a very large wedding party. Overall a wonderful venue with great value compared to nearby and similar venues. We would highly recommend Martin and the Old Tappan Manor to any bride and groom. We had about 220 guests and plenty of space.

I just had my wedding at the Old Tappan Manor, and it was incredible! We started off working with Alex, but he retired during the year that we were planning, and our event was taken over by Martin without a problem. Martin was friendly, easy to work with, and extremely accommodating. The ballroom and the venue itself is absolutely gorgeous, with the chandeliers, LED lighting, and marble dance floor, and the food is just delicious. Their pricing is also an amazing value for what you get! They also have a HUGE and beautiful bridal suite that was an excellent place for me and all of my bridesmaids to get ready during the day. I felt like we were taken care of the whole day and night. Frank was our Maitre'd. After the ceremony, my husband and I were ushered up to the bridal suite and given a sampling of every station at the cocktail hour (there were many!), so we actually had a chance to eat that night. During the reception, we were encouraged to eat our dinners, but since it was a lost cause, they wrapped up our meals for us and we ate them the following night. I would love to come back here as a guest. The whole wedding went off without a hitch, and I am so happy with the whole day!

I fell in love with the Old Tappan Manor from the time my mom and I walked in to view this venue February 2012. My fiancé (at that time) and I were frustrated with not finding a venue that was reasonably priced for a Saturday evening wedding. We went to many of the wedding venues in the Bergen County area and even ventured to many of the well known venues in Passaic county but they were either too expensive or did not fit our vision for our special day. Martin worked with us from beginning to end. Our guest loved the food and the atmosphere of the venue. We had over 220 guest and the recently expanded cocktail space was able to accommodate everyone. The bridal suite is also spacious and was able to accommodate our bridal party of 18. The high ceiling and beautiful chandeliers definitely kick it up a notch. The staff were very professional. I would recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for a professional atmosphere,great food and beautiful ballroom and a good value for your money.

Terrific planning and communications led to the best party ever. Food was awesome and service was outstanding. Definately worth your time looking into.

Oldtappan manor, we enjoy our time at my best friends sweet sixteenth on Saturday January 24,2015 beautiful place the food it's great, it's a very elegant place beautiful lights but the stuff are horrible they did not offer us any drinks and it was supposed to be an open bar at the end of the night we saw a waiter steel the money from the floor that was supposed to be for the dj like we used in our parties and it's our tradition it was a female the waiter whi was steeling the tip it's a shame how they have waiters like that in a beautiful prestigious place like the oldtappan manor.

We used Colonial Manor (now Old Tappan Manor) for our reception. The place is newly renovated and ABSOLUTELY beautiful. The food is delicious. I mean, it is really quite perfect and I would definitely take a look around. We had our wedding during the off season so we got a really good deal too, however, they have a lot of hidden costs that they would not disclose to us. They seemed like they were trying to screw us out of money sometimes. The night of the wedding, a bartender started a verbal altercation with one of our guests and one of the managers Alex refused to deal with the situation. On the grand scheme of things, it wasn't a big deal... but I feel they could have been more forthcoming and flexible with how they deal with people. But definitey take a look... maybe you will have more luck with them than we did.

The place is awesome, the food it's amazing but the waiter's should speak English my waiter didn't even understand when I ask her for a simple glass of water

If I could give this place zero stars I would. My wedding was canceled a year in advance due to something devastating. When I emailed them to tell them I would not have the wedding and I would want my deposit back, theyre response was basically “I don’t care about what happened, I am keeping your deposit. Thanks.” It turned out to be a blessing in disguise, bc the place is not well kept, but I would also NEVER a place like this a part of a special day. We understand this is a business, but they had PLENTY of time to book that day, which we confirmed they did. They told me they would give me my deposit back if they were to book that day, and I drove by in that day and they did. I even took pictures and sent it to them but all of my emails and phone calls have gone unanswered.
