Awesome Wedding DJ!

DJ Blake was amazing. His DJ skills were exactly what we were hoping for as he read the room and kept the partying going. His execution of the planned events was perfect. He even surprised us by singing a few songs! We could not be any happier with Blake and only have good things to say!

The overall services provided by Okyne were great! They had all the equipment we needed for our wedding. We would certainly reach out again if we were to need DJ services in the future!

Great Experience!

From the very beginning, I felt so supported working with Okyne Medialab. Their portal made it easy to fully customize and map out our day, and the entire process was organized and professional. My DJ, Alan, completely understood the classy and polished vibe I was going for and catered the music perfectly to match.

Alan did a wonderful job as both DJ and emcee—he took suggestions in stride, made timely announcements, and kept everything flowing seamlessly. What impressed me most was his ability to read the room. Guests were shocked when I told them I hadn’t given him a strict playlist, because he kept the energy high, the dance floor packed, and the music exactly on point all night long.

We also added the cold sparks machine for our exit, and it was such a fun and memorable touch. Okyne Medialab provided microphones and speakers for the ceremony as well, and we had absolutely no hiccups with audio the entire day—everything was flawless.

On top of his talent, Alan looked polished and professional, which I truly appreciated. DJs can be hit or miss, but Alan was an absolute hit. I’m so grateful we had him, and I would highly recommend him to any couple looking for a DJ who is skilled, professional, and genuinely great at what he does.

Hire them!

Working in the event industry, I’ve seen and heard it all. So when it came to planning my own wedding, music was at the very top of my list. I knew I’d have some not-so-average requests for both the ceremony and reception.

Okyne Media Lab delivered. The trio—sax, drums, and DJ—was everything. The music was on point, the vibe was perfect, and the dance floor stayed packed all night. Honestly, couldn’t have asked for more.

DJ Brad was our DJ for our June 2025 wedding and we could not have had a better experience with Okyne Media Lab and DJ Brad. DJ Brad had our guests literally begging for more song at the end of the night! We were worried that the dance floor would be sparse because of our lower guest count (about 70 guests), but the dance floor was packed the entire night! I had several guests praise DJ Brad and the music choices/mixes.

Great execution!

We hired DJ Alan through Okyne Media Group for our wedding, and he truly exceeded every expectation. From the moment he arrived, Alan carried a quiet confidence that immediately put us at ease. He seamlessly managed each setup—ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, dance, and after-party—ensuring that the music consistently set the perfect tone. Throughout the evening, his calming and friendly presence made us feel completely comfortable knowing he had everything under control.

Okyne Medialab - wedding DJ, string quartet, sax player

Okyne was a huge part in making our wedding perfect. We've had so many comments from our friends and family about how fun the dance floor was all night. We had a string quartet, DJ, and sax player from Okyne and they were all awesome. DJ Eric took all of our preferences and recommendations seriously and delivered on every single one. He masterfully kept the dancing going all night and there was never a dull moment.

The whole Okyne crew was nothing but professional, engaging, and attentive and I would recommend them to anyone getting married in Chicago. 12/10 rating and we could not have asked for a better music vendor!

The Soundtrack to the Best Day of Our Life

Okyne Media Lab did a phenomenal job for our wedding day! We worked with two of their DJs, Raheel and Alan, one for our morning Hindu ceremony and another for our Christian ceremony & reception in the evening.

Raheel did an amazing job in the morning, so much so that all our guests said it was the smoothest Hindu ceremony they had attended! He did such an amazing job coordinating with our emcee and our priest to make the ceremony flow effortlessly. He even timed each song to perfection according to the ceremony agenda we provided.

Alan was awesome for our Christian Ceremony and Reception. The whole evening and night went so much better than we could have anticipated! His energy and enthusiasm kept everyone engaged throughout the entire evening/night. The way Alan mixed our songs from so many different genres together (English, Indian, Latin) was seamless and coordinated very well. We’re still having people reach out to tell us they cannot stop thinking about our reception and how great the music was, and neither can we! We’ve also never been to a wedding where the dance floor officially closed at midnight but guests were chanting “one more song!” We’re thankful to Alan for indulging us with a few extra songs :)

Overall, we’ll remember our wedding day for the rest of our lives, and cannot thank Okyne enough for helping to make it so special!

Just the vibe we were looking for!

I can't say enough great things about Okyne Medialab, Inc. We were lucky enough to be paired up with Blake as our DJ. He was absolutely amazing at our wedding! He offered to sing during dinner as a "wedding gift" to us, and our guests still talk about it. I would recommend him to another couple in a heartbeat. I also appreciated the saxophone player and ease of making our own playlist. Overall, 10/10.

Easy, competent and professional

Everything people say is true. DJ Alan truly was so good that people COULD NOT get off the dance floor! Some of our guests told us after the fact we needed to schedule in breaks because the songs were too good and they couldn't find time to use the bathroom :) But in all seriousness, we trusted the DJ to relay announcements on time and in the right manner and they did just that. The intros were executed perfectly with all the hype and the song choice was perfect for the crowd, even mixing in the odd bollywood song or too (we had many Indian guests). The live musicians booking process was fairly easy and flexible, and they did an amazing job and really added a beautiful flair to our ceremony and cocktail hour. Overall, working with Okyne is a low touch vendor that simply delivers an amazing performance.

Best dj ever

2023 bride here! I had the pleasure of working with Brad at Okyne. To say he was outstanding is an understatement. During the reception, he was very transparent and clear with me about where and when things would be happening! He also kept the dance floor absolutely packed the entire night. During our honeymoon, my husband and I could not stop talking about how great we thought the DJ was! The planning process was very smooth and the communication was great. Excellent DJ and Wedding Audio

We couldn't be more pleased with Okyne, and Eric, our DJ, specifically. The audio for our outdoor ceremony and speeches during reception were flawless. The music was perfect. The best DJ!

Okyne Medialab, Inc. was the BEST. I seriously got so many compliments on our DJ. We worked with Al and DJ Brad. We also used Okyne to provide live music during the ceremony which was amazing. I wanted to walk down the aisle to a song that wasn't in their repertoire and they were able to learn it no problem.

The DJ did everything we asked and he kept everyone entertained. He played everything we requested and also took the time to make sure he was pronouncing everyone's names right which we really appreciated. He was the perfect emcee through the entire evening.

Could not recommend them enough. They were seriously such a hit at our wedding.

Excellent DJ who kept the dance floor going until the last second

Al and Okyne Media came highly recommended to us by our planner, and we are so glad we went with Al! We met with Al before the wedding to go over our timeline, what to expect, what we wanted, etc. During the meeting, he was extremely professional and knew what he was doing. That same level of commitment and professionalism continued on the day of the wedding. We did a first look at our dinner room before guests came in, and Al had our first dance song playing while we did it, which I thought was such a nice touch. He did an excellent job of checking in with us, making sure the people giving speeches were prepared, making announcements, and keeping things moving.

Somehow, Al got even better when it came time to dance. After the first and parent dances were done, Al played a song that got the entire room dancing. He did an excellent job of reading the room and playing what would keep people moving. We had many guests who never left the room! When he played the last song, people were chanting for one more, and Al delivered. It was an incredible moment and not something I have seen happen at any other wedding.

We received so many compliments during and after the wedding about how incredible our DJ was (including how well-dressed he was).

It was incredible and exactly what we wanted. I would highly recommend Al for your wedding or event.

The Okyne Medialab team members are truly amazing to work with! The process with their online portal and the opportunities to speak with Al to get questions answered and talk through logistics really freed us up to enjoy our big day. Our wedding went so smoothly thanks to Brad for being MC and DJ. He was prompt, flexible, and communicated well with us as the day went along. Look no further!!

Al & the team at Okyne Media Labs was the absolute right choice for our wedding day!! If you're looking for a professional and fun team, look no further. DJ Alejandro was an awesome MC and kept the dance floor packed all night. Even our grandparents couldn't help but join in :) I'll treasure those videos forever.

Leading up to the big day, we were able to use an online dashboard to put in songs for cocktail hour, dancing, and special moments as we made those decisions. Al spent time with us on Zoom calls to make sure he understood the vibe we were going for as well as what the technical hurdles of the venue might be. We were pretty particular about everything, and he nailed the brief -- even making us a custom dinner playlist when we couldn't find exactly what we had envisioned. The wedding was everything we wanted and more, and the customer service was top notch.

The Okyne Medialab team ensured a smooth, easy and stress-free experience every step of the way.

Each member of their team, Bekah, DJ Andrés and Al were phenomenal. Bekah was so helpful in the beginning as she introduced us to the services they provided and helped us set up our portal. She answered all our questions in a timely manner, jumped on 2 calls with us and provided excellent customer service. As soon as we began working with her we immediately knew we made the right decision.

Additionally, Al jumped in to finalized all the details with us for our wedding day making us feel very confident that the day would be everything we imagined and more. You can tell that he truly cares about all of his clients and matched us with a DJ that aligned with our preferences and style.

Lastly, DJ Andrés killed it. We had so many people coming to us complimenting our DJ and saying how amazing he did. He played so many amazing songs and read the vibe of the crowd perfectly. When I say our dance floor was packed all night - I mean it. There was never a dull moment and I can’t even express how much that means to us. Our dream was to have a packed dance floor and a wedding where everyone had a blast and DJ Andrés and the Okyne Medialab team made that happen.

Great professional organization

Only book if you want the BEST RECEPTION EVER

Gordon seriously killed the game at our reception!!! He kept the dance floor packed the entire night and kept the energy going. He definitely was able to read the room and played banger after banger! Dance floor packed the entire night!

We used Okyne Media lab for our July 2023 wedding. We did the ultimate wedding package plus 2 live musicians (Trumpeter and Saxaphonist). Working with Bekah throughout the sales and planning process was very smooth and she was very responsive and accommodating. Al was similarly very responsive and accommodating in the weeks leading up to the wedding, not to mention FUN to work with! He made us feel comfortable with our decision to add the saxophonist and trumpeter and allowed us to add extra 'must plays' and submit our own playlists.

Brad was our DJ for the wedding itself and he was absolutely incredible! He brought amazing vibes and from the beginning got us pumped up for the wedding party introductions. He was the perfect emcee, announcing things like "one hour left" and "last slow song" which people mentioned to me they really appreciated. He also pronounced all names correctly and checked in with each person giving a speech ahead of time. My sister, new brothers-in-law and father all mentioned their appreciation for these thoughtful details. He was able to blend our playlist in seamlessly, ensuring the dancefloor was PACKED for literally every minute. He also checked in with us toward the end of the night to make sure there were no other songs we wanted to hear.

We loved how the trumpeter and saxophonist came into the crowd to play and they sounded great playing on top of every song. We're so glad we had them there!

Amazing Wedding DJ!

Couldn’t have asked for a better DJ!!

We are so happy we chose Okyne for our DJ!
From our initial phone call with Bekah and prompt emails with Al, we felt comfortable and confident that they would pair us with the perfect DJ.
Our DJ was José and we had a great conversation on the phone the week of the wedding to go over our dance songs and made sure everything lined up with our coordinator's timeline. We also used their violinist and pianist due for our outdoor garden cocktail hour which added the perfect vibe. The whole reception went smooth from start to finish and he had us all on the dance floor until closing time! I provided a song list for dinner and he was able to play that for us too. I'm so glad we went with them and I 100% recommend!

My wedding day was 10-8-2022 and my DJ was through Okyne. In late August, the original DJ I had planned for my day canceled and I struggled for days trying to find a DJ. I emailed so many firms and my experiences were horrible (I will not name the firms out of respect to my experience due of my previous DJ backing out).

After so many emails and calls, I found Okyne. Instead of emailing, I called and Al picked up the phone. I told him my situation and he immediately checked his schedule and said he’d be happy to book my day. This took a huge weight out of my shoulders because of my situation and we interviewed the following week.

I wrote up my own itinerary and presented it to Al on our zoom call and he paired me with DJ Vestus. Vestus also gave me a call to go over the itinerary and I answered any questions he had and went over each page from the type music played during cocktail hour, dinner, dance floor, etc.

The day finally came and I met DJ Vestus after the church at the venue. This was my first time seeing him in person and the confidence I felt through his voice and the energy he showed made me feel that this will be an amazing night. Vestus went over everything again with me while we setup the venue for guest. He got to know everyone and pronounce the names correctly for introductions.

Each event in the venue had different genres of music. Vestus was able to follow my playlists with everything that was requested. We all know that the main part of the venue is when dinner, first dances and money dance is over with and the dancing begins. I created a reggaeton playlist for DJ Vestus that was over 12 hours long. Vestus managed to turn those 12 hours of songs to 3-4 hours with the touch of his creative side. My guest loves the music and lights provided, there wasn’t a moment that no one was on the dance floor. There wasn’t a time where my guest came to me and asked me where I found this DJ because he kept the energy up to the end of the party.

The DJ is the life of the party and must be able to read the crowd and know what to play next. Vestus exceeded expectations and I was so happy to meet him through Okyne.

Party wouldn't have been the same without Okyne!

We used Okyne for 3 services during our January 15, 2023 wedding - live electric violinist for the ceremony and cocktail hour, DJ for the wedding, and Karaoke DJ for the afterparty. All our expectations were exceeded and wildest dreams come true!!!! Bekah was in touch right away to help us hone in on what we were looking for - what services, vibes, overall music taste, etc. Closer to the wedding, the Okyne portal and our meeting with Al and DJ Mayhem were so helpful and all together made us feel prepared and excited for the big day! All 3 musicians we worked with were incredible and the dance floor was packed all night. Highly recommend Okyne for the quality of service, as well as communication and organization!

Professional, Responsive and Fun!

We had a great experience with Okyne for our wedding DJ. The upfront process was very organized and responsive, and the web-based tools made it easy to communicate our vision. They were accommodating with our requests to get an audio recording of the ceremony, and even recorded the speeches and some dance footage from the reception without us asking. Our DJ Kristian brought authentic energy to the event and was an effective master of ceremonies during the reception. After the event, they reworked some of the recordings based on our request. Overall, it was a very positive and professional experience throughout, and I would recommend them to others!

Okyne Medialab is all the benefits of a wedding DJ and literally not one single negative. They have refined the DJ process into what it should be: a customer centered experience run by absolute professionals. You sign the contract and you’re taken to the online web portal client tool where YOU tell THEM what you want at your wedding. There are lists with everything you may or may not want. Bouquet toss? Check yes. Garter toss? Check no. Then you fill in the songs you want for moments or special dances. The “like it, love it, hate it” feature is amazing. One of the biggest selling points of Okyne is they work for you, not themselves and not anyone else. I loathe line dances and put as many of them as I could think of on the hate it list. I was told very clearly that meant they weren’t getting played no matter who tried to bribe the DJ to play cha-cha slide. A week and a half before my wedding, we had a zoom call with the owner Al, who took a half hour to go through every single choice with us, recording pronunciations, finding our special request songs, answering questions we had about what certain things were. Then a few days before the wedding we get a call from our DJ for the event, Jose. Same thing. He’s going over every song, asking us our preferences, making sure that the specialty songs were the correct versions, asking us our preferences for downtime music, etc. But here’s the big take home. I told Jose (and this was the reason I chose Okyne to begin with) that I was going to have 200 guests at my wedding. 100 of them are in their 20s. 100 of them are over 50. I wanted as many people on that dancefloor as much as possible. That meant the 20 something and the 50 something. I don’t know how Jose pulled this off but my dancefloor was PACKED the entire night. Everyone, youngest to oldest, was having a great time, because Jose was reading the room to fit our vibe, and did an excellent job of spacing out our special requests.. And that’s what mattered to me most. So, if you’re still reading this review, just pull the trigger on Okyne. You can either spend your wedding prep being told by a DJ what he’s going to play at your wedding, taking tips from guests to play songs you hate, and standing at his DJ booth with a sticker on his laptop that says “I’m not a jukebox” (all of which I’ve seen before), or you can choose Okyne, tell them your special requests and general vibe, and let them do all the work for you.

Amazing Night!

Okyne provides top tier service. We had a video call with Al the week prior to the wedding to go over every detail and organize the forms on their website. The week of the wedding Jose (our DJ for the night) gave us a call, hyped us up and again confirmed all the details. The service they provide is extremely professional, and the music was on point the entire night. We were very generic with our music request - essentially, get people on the dance floor and keep them there, and Jose did not disappoint! 100 percent recommend Okyne for your big day!

Wanted to Dance All Night!

DJ Kris was our DJ at our 8-13-22 wedding and he did a phenomenal job. He called us two days before our wedding to go over details and ask any last-minute questions, and the day went off without a hitch! He pronounced everyone’s names correctly, timed the beginning of each song for first dances perfectly, and played some awesome remixes toward the end of the night. A bunch of our college friends complimented us on the music!! People were dancing nonstop right up until the end of our reception - no one wanted to leave the dance floor when the night was over. He brought great energy with him and was super fun to work with!

Additionally, we had two string musicians booked through Okyne play at our cocktail hour, and everything I heard them play (I was tucked away in the bridal suite for much of cocktail hour) was lovely. I heard many compliments from guests about them, as well, and it was super convenient to book everything through one company. I highly recommend booking Okyne for your wedding music!!

HIRE OKYNE MEDIALAB! No hesitations. We are absolutely amazed with how things turned out. We had Nicole as our harpist for our cocktail hour and our guests could not stop complimenting what a cool idea and what remarkable talent she had. Then, our reception, Al was our DJ and he really turned up the party. He took our "must play" songs and had them all in the there while transitioning and reading the crowd so well throughout the entire night. It was SO MUCH FUN thanks to this incredible team! They are trustworthy and very energetic in the whole process. Highly recommend! 10/10.

Excellent!

Okyne is a must for your wedding. My fiance and I were lucky to become familiar with the Okyne team through my brothers' weddings several years ago. Each of them had big weddings with super fun dance floors, and they started the trend that as each family member gets engaged (including our many cousins), Okyne is our first phone call. So we had experience across 5 or so weddings working with Okyne and knew we were in good hands.

We worked directly with Al and Bekah and they were incredible throughout the entire process. I was pretty specific about what I wanted the vibe to be throughout each part of the wedding reception (cocktail, dinner, and dancing), and Al absolutely delivered seamlessly. Not only was the dance floor packed all night, he stuck to the helpful portal / playlists we had worked on together while mixing in some of his own recommendations. I felt I could totally trust him, which was a big relief as we have over 12 different vendors to coordinate with on top of also trying to enjoy the day ourselves. Al even attended our walk-thru and in our Zoom meeting pre-wedding had very helpful suggestions to make our entrances unique and non-cliche.

In addition to the music, Al did an amazing job with the flow of the reception. He helped us stay on our timeline and kept the night moving, which was very important for a large wedding like ours. He knows how to read the room and is truly brilliant at his craft. We also hired the saxophone for 3 hours - and wow, he is EPIC. So many people came up to me on both sides of the wedding to comment on how talented Al and the sax player are. It was truly a magical night, all thanks to Okyne!

Amazing experience with Okyne and DJ Kris

We had DJ Kris for our wedding night and he was absolutely amazing!!! He did an awesome job with the music and completely captured the vibe we were going for. You could tell that he was genuinely enjoying himself and he was so much fun! He was also very attentive to the flow of the night and we appreciated all he did to keep the party going. Flexible and Fantastic

We decided to use Okyne at the recommendation of our wedding planner. Our DJ night-of (Chris) was fantastic, playing almost entirely songs off our suggested playlist but making good decisions in the moment to keep everyone dancing. We had a full dance floor throughout the event, but the volume and was also such that when we (and guests) needed a break, we could sit and chat without overpowering music. It was fantastic to dance to all our favorite 80s rock classics, and everyone has a great time.

We also has great sound and lovely music throughout the ceremony, dinner (everyone could hear the toasts), and the DJ did a great job announcing families called over for pictures. Every part of the event ran smoothly, thanks in part to our MC. We also chose to include a looping slideshow of fun photos for the guests, and the projector/screen setup from Okyne was the perfect size (big but not overwhelming for the space) and we got compliments throughout the night.

Most importantly I should highlight their fantastic flexibility and customer service. We were complicated customers, and they rolled with everything. They gave us a gender-inclusive form to fill out (we're two brides and our wedding party was all-gender), allowed us to send Spotify Playlists for "Must Plays" and "Suggested," completely understood our vague "don't play" descriptions (we're very picky about music), and accommodated our need for specific audio files (I cut our first dance song down to 2 minutes, changed the tempo of our aisle song, etc.).

Most importantly, they were incredibly flexible with our multiple reschedulings. We signed a contract in late 2019, pushed a Jan 2021 wedding back to Jan 2022, and then with Omicron had to push back to March 2022 with a week's notice. Through it all Okyne was one of the easiest vendors to deal with, and made the stressful process easier.

The DJ was fantastic, the sound, light, and projection equipment were top notch, and their customer service is a well-oiled machine. Would highly recommend to any Chicago-area couples.

A Dream to Work With!

Al and the entire team at Okyne Media Lab provided us with a five-star experience leading up to and on our wedding day.

We hired Okyne because we loved the flexiblity of having one team that could provide us with not only the musicians for the wedding ceremony and dinner (we hired string duet for ceremony and jazz trio for dinner), but also DJ services for the evening.

This company is extremely organized and professional, which made them easy to trust and work with from the start. Okyne provided various planning documents for us to fill out prior to the wedding, and Al reviewed these with us one-on-one via Zoom about a week before our big day. Al even worked with us to play custom mixes of songs at our wedding that my brother created to make our day even more personalized and special.

We were lucky enough to have Al, DJ Ace, as the DJ on our wedding day. I have one word for this experience- WOW! Our guests had such a blast and danced the night away. Best Dj/Music ever!!

Stop looking and book Okyne Media immediately!! DJ Alan was our DJ and he was beyond what I ever could wanted for our wedding. Our dance floor was packed the entire night. He played all of our favorites and did a perfect job playing to the crowd. We had multiple guests tell us it was the best music they’ve heard at at wedding, and I can’t imagine a better feeling than hearing all your guests chant ‘ONE MORE SONG’ after your last dance song is played. Al and Stacy were wonderful to work with pre-wedding. They easily accommodated our Covid postponement, and we’re so helpful on the days leading up to our wedding. Great Experience with Okyne Medialab!

Gordon is the best!

Working with Al and Stacy, the owners, was great. They were knowledgeable and have a lot of experience in the business. We wanted a professional DJ, someone who wouldn’t play tacky wedding songs, someone who looked the part and could keep the show running. After our meeting with Al, where we went over all our music preferences, style, and timeline, we were told DJ Gordon would be our DJ. He made our reception amazing! People were on the dance floor the whole evening! He read the crowd exceptionally well, selecting the best songs to keep the party going. We also liked the way he transitioned, or faded in and out of songs and to the next. Last minute, our best man requested from Gordon a “walk-up song” before his speech- this ended up being hilarious and added so much more to the epic speech he gave. Overall we were very happy with Okyne and how our reception felt as a result of having an awesome DJ!

Top Music Vendor!

We are so lucky we had Okyne Media at our wedding on 10/16/21! They really created a memorable night for our family and friends! I wanted to choose a music vendor who would set the tone and mood for our wedding from cocktail hour to the reception all night. We had an awesome instrumental jazz trio at cocktail hour and during dinner then had a saxophone player with DJ Alan for dancing. DJ Alan was a blast! Hiring Okyne Medialab was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! From the initial meeting to the reception, every person we dealt with was professional, organized, and warm! Thanks to COVID we went through multiple postponements, but every member of the Okyne team was supportive and helpful through every step. The live cellist we hired through Okyne made our ceremony so beautiful and perfect, and DJ Gordon absolutely crushed it at the reception. Great DJ/Music Services

The team at Okyne Medialab is great to work with. They have playlists that can help the couple choose their music without needed to select every song. Absolutely fantastic

We selected Okyne because they did my brothers wedding a few years ago and we had to peel people off of the dance floor. Their system was fantastic, and they answered any and all concerns we had. Great Wedding DJ!

I hired Okyne Medialab as my wedding DJ after attending a wedding they DJ-ed a few years ago. I had a great time at that wedding and it was one of the most fun wedding dance floors I'd ever been on, so hiring Okyne was a no brainer. Their online tools are great and very easy to use. The planning meeting with Al really helped put me at ease. I could tell Al knew exactly how we wanted the night to run, and the type of music I was looking for. I received a call from my actual DJ Thursday before the wedding. This was also a great conversation and I felt comfortable going into the wedding day that I would not have to worry about the entertainment. DJ Kevin did an AMAZING job at my wedding. From the first few songs, you could tell it was going to be a great time. The music just kept getting better as the night went on. Kevin was able to blend oldies, modern music, and polish music for my family. The dance floor stayed packed all night! Okyne was everything I wanted them to be and more. Incredible

We had nothing short of an absolutely incredible experience with Okyne. From start to finish, they were incredibly helpful, responsive, and informative. We knew exactly what to expect in each step of the process and they gave us the tools to make everything very easy and straightforward leading up to our wedding. More than that, they offered incredible flexibility in a time of high stress - especially adding Covid into the mix with planning and replanning multiple times. I have to say I was beyond impressed with our pre-wedding final meeting. I work with businesses/owners frequently in my line of work and feel it’s incredibly rare to have the owners as involved as Stacy and Al are. It’s no surprise that our wedding deejay was equally as awesome. Kris called us the night before our wedding to make sure he had every detail, and name pronunciation down to a T. He kept our guests on the dance floor the entire night. I would recommend this company 100 times over to anyone looking for an event or wedding deejay.

They were the best!

We hired them both as a DJ and a live cello and violin duet for the ceremony. We also hired them for our small covid wedding last year and our larger 2nd wedding this year. Okyne was super responsive and handled all of our requests with ease. We cannot thank them enough for accommodating us between last year and this year! Our guests were ranting and raving about how great the live music was as well as our DJ! My family had some unusual song requests as well and it all went perfectly! Would highly recommend to anyone who wants a lively dance floor and great music!

The BEST DJ company for your special day

Hiring a DJ for our wedding was one of our top priorities since we all know, the music makes your wedding. Given recommendations from our wedding venue, Galleria Marchetti, we went with Okyne Medialab, Inc. Being a Covid bride, Okyne Medialab INC. gave us no problem with switching our dates 4 times! Finally getting to our July 3rd wedding the following year, Okyne Medialab Inc. sent Kris to be our DJ. Kris was THE BEST DJ! He read the dance floor, kept the dance floor packed at all times and gave me no worries throughout the night. I cannot get over how great this company is. I highly recommend them to anyone that is in need of a DJ!

Lovely music!

Al and Stacy made the entire planning process easy and seamless. They provided me with an intuitive online portal where I could search, select songs, and build a timeline for the cellist & violist (Dorothy & Bruno). The artists arrived early and provided our guests with beautiful music. Our only regret is that we didn't book them for a couple more hours. Thank you, Okyne Medialab!

Great DJ Service!

DJ Gordon was fantastic on our wedding in September 2020! Okyne Medialab was amazing to work with in planning our big day. Our wedding planner introduced us to this company, and we have no regrets!
We had several meetings to discuss our DJ goals for our wedding. The company had a website where we created a profile and were able to customize and select our top 10 songs, bottom 10 songs, special song requests, introductions, toasts, etc… We also had several meetings where Bekah and Al walked us through our profiles, asked us questions, and took many notes on everything we said. They were very professional. They even hosted a virtual meeting with us, our planner, photographer, venue, etc… all together online so that they would know exactly when music would be needed (or not needed). The company had access to ALL of our music requests, even custom instrumental versions of songs.
DJ Gordon was very professional with his equipment set up, he was familiar with all of the notes from our profile, and abided by all the Covid19 requirements- no dancing (due to covid), but fun dinner music. That is exactly what he delivered! We sat at the head of the big table and watched EVERYONE swaying or bobbing their heads in their seats, pretty much throughout the ENTIRE dinner! At one point, ALL 30 GUESTS stopped talking to each other so they could group sing along to music and dance in their seats- it was so entertaining! DJ Gordon kept the energy level perfect the entire evening!
DJ Gordon called us the night before the wedding to make sure we we’re ready for the big day. He nailed the ceremony music, the special dances, the dinner, and the toasts. He, and Okyne Medialab, gave us a wedding day we will always remember. We would definitely recommend to anyone!

Best Decision We Made For Our Wedding

Hiring Okyne Media was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. They were extremely knowledgeable on all genres of music and had great recommendations when I needed help. They also have a great online planning tool for selecting music and constructing a timeline for the wedding day. Al, the owner, was instrumental in selecting the perfect DJ to match our music preferences, and also in finalizing our timeline and making sure they had all the correct versions of our music choices. DJ Alejandro did a fantastic job! The music was on point and our guests danced well into the night and were raving about how good the DJ was. Dance floor was packed all night!

We had the BEST day. Thank you so much to the entire Okyne team, and especially DJ Alan, for making our day so incredible. DJ Alan did an amazing job and kept the dance floor full and fun all night long! I'm so happy with how everything turned out, the songs were amazing, he did a great job announcing the special dances, cake cutting, photo ops, etc. I couldn't be happier. The online system was so easy for my husband and I to fill out with songs we loved/liked/disliked and DJ Alan did the best job incorporating all of this into his set. I also wanted to thank Okyne for helping me find my dance song with my Dad! We always have loved the song "Sweet Child of Mine" but Guns & Roses isn't exactly a great slow dance song... Alan from Okyne researched and found the perfect slow version & it made for the perfect Dad/Daughter dance. Best dj & music in chicagoland

We couldn't be happier with our experience with DJ Gordon and Stacy from OkyneMediaLab! The music was bumpin' all night long and DJ Gordon was a great MC/DJ. Okyne Delivers! Best Party of Our Lives!

I highly recommend Okyne! They did a fantastic job at our wedding. Aside from how responsive and professional they are, Okyne's portal resources were tremendously helpful in choosing the special songs and developing a reception schedule/flow that made sense and brought our vision to life. Our celebration was PERFECT, & Okyne was a big part of that! I had zero concerns about day-of coordination with them - Okyne made the process so easy. For context, we had shy of 100 headcount (so, on the intimate side), so I was slightly nervous about the dance floor vibe. DJ Martin did a super job, and found our crowd's groove really quickly - tons of friends and family were up and dancing throughout, there was a 50+-person congo line, a dance-off, and just an overall AWESOME time. A total blast! People would have stayed dancing until the morning if we had let them (the groove was that good), and we've gotten several comments about how much everyone enjoyed the music/party. Look No Further - DJ Corey & Okyne Are Your DJ Experts!

The whole process with Okyne was really awesome. We loved the planning portal and being able to connect with the DJ and the main team before the big day to speak over the specifics. DJ Corey was super professional and had a lot of control over the night. I feel like that was one of the most helpful things about working with Okyne, honestly. Corey was able to smoothly run the event as well as make game time decisions, if we needed them without having to ask us or interrupt our party time. We were able to kick back, relax and tear up the dance floor without any worries. Great price, professional service, and an amazing time!

The planning process was easy and they followed up with any gaps and questions. The DJ filled in the songs for dinner and dancing perfectly to fit our style. A Jammin’ Time!

We loved using Okyne for our wedding on July 27th! From the start, they were easy to work with and ensured all of our dj details for our reception at Hotel Baker were covered. Top notch DJ

DJ Gordon was perfect. He played a variety of songs that kept people on the dance floor all night. He also was very friendly and easy to talk to. Definitely has a lot of patience and professionalism.

Also, he was a great announcer at dinner for all the dances, speeches, and entrances. We threw a curve ball or two at him the day of an he was great and handled it perfectly.

The uplighting provided was also amazing and brought a more fun mood to my venue.

Okyne was super easy to work with and a great value for what they provide. Everyone we worked with was super friendly and helpful and I will be recommending them to anyone that is looking for a DJ.

Made our reception so much fun!

Okyne Medialab is AMAZING. We were able to use a website to set up our love it, like it, and hate it list of songs. We also met with the owner of Okyne though video chat to go over final details before our day. DJ Dan was amazing and he really knew what songs to pull up to get the crowd going. He even shared the space with our family's Croatian band and went back and forth seamlessly between Croatian folk music and the DJ songs. We had so much fun and Dan made sure everything ran incredibly smooth!

A perfect match!

Al Okyne is the brains behind this DJ service! When we had our initial meeting, we were asked "get to know you questions" so they could get an idea of what music style we were looking for our wedding (and ultimately pair us with our DJ.) My now husband had a VERY specific music style for each part of our wedding, and made a spread sheet of songs to play/not to play, etc. Anyways, we were paired with DJ Gordon & he delivered! All of our "must play songs" were played, and he incorporated my husband's playlist and added other songs to the vibe he was looking for! He was a great MC for the night and SO professional! He even found me on the dance floor to ask if a "do not play song" that was being requested by several guests would be ok to play! No need to go anyplace else, Okyne Media is where it's at!

Everything I asked for!

Alan was our DJ, and he killed it! I always say, you know it was a good wedding when the dance floor was full all night, and it was! He played all of our favorite songs. He took requests that were appropriate, and politely declined those that were not.

We also hired a harpist through Okyne for our Ceremony, Janelle. She did a great job, and we got so many compliments on how nice it was to have her play.

No cheesy dj in sight!

When looking for a DJ for our wedding we were nervous about having a cheesy DJ who was awkward or had fake voice. Our venue (Steve Sleczka -LondonHouse Chicago) and wedding coordinator (Cassandra Vack - Anthony Gowder Designs) both recommended Okyne Media Lab. Working with Okyne was amazing from our first call with Stacy to our prep meetings with Al, and our DJ -DJ Gordon. The process was very organized with the online tools which helped during the wedding craziness because not everything had to be done at once! During our reception DJ Gordon was PERFECT! He had so much energy and the dance floor was continuously PACKED and he led the evening in the most genuine way! There was not a dull moment. We received so many compliments on the mix of music and how much fun the dance floor was.

Amazing experience!

Everyone at Okyne was absolutely amazing and professional! We had some additional requests such as a surprise addition from my bridesmaids and a mixture of greek and American music. Great wedding DJ

Okyne Medialab did a great job DJing our wedding. They were professional throughout the planning process. They were able to answer our questions honestly without trying to upsell us (we were debating a second sound system for our cocktail hour). During the reception, DJ Anthony kept the program flowing smoothly. Our dancefloor was packed almost the entire night, and we got a ton of compliments on our music. Kept the dance floor rocking NON-STOP from 7:30pm until midnight!!

We cannot say enough about Okyne Medialab. Al was our DJ, and he is truly a professional. He came highly recommended to us by a friend of ours who works in the wedding business as a photographer, and I am so happy we went with his recommendation! I am SUPER picky about music, and the DJ was the most important vendor in my eyes. I could not have been happier with our decision to go with Okyne.

Our wedding started with a cocktail hour in a room off to the side of the main room, and Al used a satellite speaker so that we could have music in there. During the cocktail hour, we wanted Rat Pack/Frank Sinatra type music, which then moved into oldies. The music choices were very classy and well-picked - they were exactly what we wanted.

We moved into a bigger room for the rest of the reception, and the second the dancing started, the floor was packed. People literally did not stop dancing until midnight!! Our friends told us that they only left the dance floor when they had to use the restroom, and even then, they were mad that there were "no bad songs" because that meant they had to miss a good song when they needed a restroom break!

My husband laughs because I told him before the wedding that I hope people stay past 10pm to dance. Our wedding had all ages (21 up to probably 85) so I was really hoping that people would stay and dance all night instead of going home early. Wow, was I a fool for even being worried about it! Al had the dance floor rocking until MIDNIGHT and I had multiple people tell me that it was the most fun wedding they had EVER been to!!! Everyone loved the music - there were so many fun songs to dance to, and there was something for everyone. My husband and I love oldies, 70's, and 80's the most, but we also love 90's, and Al worked all of those songs in perfectly. He also played some modern stuff but none of the songs that are overplayed or annoying. My husband and I also hate rap, and we love that Al didn't go to that type of stuff as the night went on. (He would've if we wanted him to, but he listened to what we wanted and chose the songs for our style of wedding.) We also didn't want any cheesy coordinated dancing songs played, and Al listened to that and did exactly what we wanted.

He and his crew made everything so easy because we could customize our song choices online. We could make multiple play lists (Love it, Like it, and Do Not Play) which we LOVED because we were very picky about certain songs getting played or not getting played. Al was great about reading the crowd and sticking with what was working to keep the dance floor packed. He played the kind of music that my husband and I love while also keeping everyone from the age of 21 to 85 dancing together. It was AWESOME.

Our wedding was a few weeks ago and I still have people emailing me telling me they had a blast and were sore from dancing for two days after the wedding! It was exactly what we wanted. I would highly recommend Al Okyne and his team to anyone looking for a wedding DJ!

The dance floor was packed all night!

Okyne was so amazing to work with! Throughout the process, they were extremely responsive and helpful in making sure everything was exactly as we wanted. We used their violinist, Hannah, for the ceremony and it was the perfect romantic touch.
Our DJ was Anthony and we can't say enough good things about him. He was so attentive to what we told him in terms of what we did and didn't want played. Our dance floor was PACKED the entire night. We've been to a lot of weddings and haven't seen a dance floor that packed for as long as it was EVER. Okyne Medialab was the very first vendor that we booked for our wedding! This team is amazing from start to finish. Our wedding vision was clear, we wanted a dance-all-night party that our guests would be talking about for months and years to come. Okyne delivered! Al quickly made himself available to give us a quote within minutes. Stacy was super helpful in answering all of our questions all along the way. The event planning website was so amazing and helpful! The search engine gives hundreds of suggestions for each important dance. The timeline helped us plan out exactly how we wanted the wedding to flow. One night when we were online late, we had a small issue with the website, we clicked on the Help function and Al responded within seconds and asked if he could call us and walk us through the issue. It was so great to have such quick and personal service. Our DJ Corey was fantastic and kept the party going the whole night! My husband and I got married on September 29, 2018. Okyne played such a huge part in our wedding. Our number #1 compliment was in regards to our DJ. We had the pleasure of working with DJ Jonathan. First and foremost, he was also very personable and easy to work with. He was on-point with the music he played, which was tailored to our musical likes and interests. He came by multiple times throughout the night to make sure we were doing alright and to ask if we needed anything.

From the beginning both Stacey and Al played a huge role in the music process and had us fill out an online questionnaire based on our musical preferences. We then had a detailed meeting with Al the week of our wedding to go over our musical selections and to finalize all the details for our special day. Everything turned out perfectly and we couldn’t have asked for a better DJ company to work with.

Our DJ was great and was able to DJ well with songs from two different cultures at our wedding. The dance floor was mostly filled through the night, and he was able to read the crowd well. He was also flexible when we realized we hadn't included enough Arabic music and was able to improvise quickly to please the crowd. With unlimited hours for 1500, you really can't beat the package! They also did our uplighting, which turned out great!

My husband and I were looking for a spectacular DJ for our wedding. I'm a professional dancer, so having a extra special DJ was crucial.

Okyne impressed us from the moment we talked to them on the phone with their professionalism and organization. All the steps they employ to make sure you have a great experience are well thought out and very helpful! Our DJ Matt was awesome, personable and his music choices / mixing were on point!

We were very overwhelmed when we started looking for a wedding DJ until a friend referred us to Okyne media! They were very easy to work with and I loved their online planning portal! It was easy to use and a nice way to make sure everything was buttoned up for the big day. We had DJ Martin who was amazing! Our guests had an awesome time and we received a ton of compliments. We wanted to incorporate a mix of music including some Polish songs and he did a great job. Everyone had a great time and the dance floor was packed! Would definitely recommend Okyne Media Lab!

DJ Alan was our DJ for our wedding on 8/18/18. We were referred to Okyne Media Lab by a coworker who raved about them at her wedding. I am so happy we chose Okyne Media Lab because DJ Alan absolutely killed it with the music! We had an extensive list of songs that we wanted to be played, and hit all of them in the best order and flow. We had many songs from different genres and cultures and he made it so fun to dance to all of them and get everyone out on the dance floor. At the end of the night he was willing to keep playing for as we wanted. Thank you DJ Alan & Okyne Media Lab!

We booked Okyne for our wedding and had an amazing experience with them! Their service was very professional and they were extremely attentive to our needs. We were in constant communication via email, video chats, and phone calls – not to mention, their online tool to specify our song selections was very easy to use. One of the most important components of our wedding was the DJ/music because we wanted people to dance and have a great time. Our DJ, Victor, did an amazing job with our request to have a bilingual reception and played great music in English and Spanish. He was very attentive with us throughout the night and was also able to read the crowd to keep the party going! He had our guests dancing the entire time! We couldn’t be happier with our choice to work with Okyne Medialab. Thank you Stacy, Al, Victor and anyone else from Okyne who worked behind the scenes to make this a great experience! We had an amazing night!

Okyne and DJ Anthony were fantastic! So professional and the consultations we had really made us feel confident that our DJ knew exactly what we wanted.

DJ Anthony was dressed well and was super organized and made sure everything went smoothly. Our guests had a great time and so did we! The transitions were great and he was able to mix the Spanish and English music so well. I heard the 80s Chicago house music at the end of night, after Rich and I were sent off with sparklers, was a big hit. I would definitely recommend Okyne Medialab and DJ Anthony himself if anyone ever needs a DJ for anything. These guys rock!

We also used their Okyne Live - Harpist service for the dinner hour. Their harpist, Janelle, was absolutely amazing!!! It was so much fun watching her get so into the music she was playing. She played well-known current radio hits (Coldplay, John Legend, etc.) and some classics (Frank Sinatra and the like). She definitely made the dinner hour memorable. I would definitely recommend her as well.

First class operation. Wow! The dance floor never cleared. This company is without a doubt, the best, hands down. Stacy and Al were very insightful and supportive with their guidance throughout the entire process. They had great recommendations for us and worked with us when we wanted some killer introductions ( classic Chicago bulls intro). Al takes the time to meet with each couple to make sure everyone is on the same page and they have all the information they need. The professionalism that was displayed by everyone in this company was outstanding. Our DJ was Matt and he was fantastic! He was very enthusiastic, welcoming and engaging with everyone. He was very organized and rocked the place all night long. We could not be more happy with Okyne Media Lab and I will be recommending them to everyone!

This is the BEST dj company! From the start of planning with them, they are professional, respond right away to questions, and have a very user-friendly online profile that you can build your songs before the wedding. DJ Alan was our DJ and he was fantastic. He kept the crowd dancing the entire night! The songs flow from one to the next and there's never an awkward break. He played exactly what we envisioned, and I got multiple compliments about the DJ music the next day!

When we first started looking for Wedding DJ's we were slightly overwhelmed and when we received a short list of trusted professionals from our caterer, we were sold on Okyne after looking through their online tools and setting up an initial meeting.

You could tell they were super buttoned up and organized from the start. Fast forward to our planning session a few weeks before the wedding, and the online tools made it super easy to talk through expectations and flow of the event. Al even recommended a second set of speaker options in our venue since they had so much experience working there. We felt 100% confident in the plan going into the night which made everything so carefree.

At the reception, I had SO many people come up and rave about the music... DJ Gordon played all of the perfect songs from our love and like lists, adding in more that just enhanced the energy even more.

We actually just got a few videos from friends from the dance floor and we have watched them a bunch of times because everyone was so happy and into it. Gordon and the entire Okyne team did a phenomenal job and made us feel so taken care of. It was a really rainy day and we couldn't use the patio so we were so happy that people did not want to move off of that dance floor.
