They worked with me even through last minute changes due to Covid restrictions.

Beautiful venue overlooking Waimea bay. Easy to work with, responsive and flexible.

Beautiful location & owners who exemplify the meaning of aloha

The number one priority for our wedding venue - it must be dog friendly. I originally inquired on having our wedding at Owen's Retreat which they also own. It wasn't available and Deedee offered Ohia Farm. The view is amazing and makes for great photos. We had our wedding during the pandemic and Deedee was still very flexible and open to ideas. Our party was very small, about 15 people total. Everything that I wanted was provided by Ohia Farm. Seating, birch wedding arch, subtle decoration, music, tables. Two bathrooms and changing rooms were available to us. With a place like this you really dont need much decor as the view sets the vibe for your event. You seriously cannot beat the view during sunset.

Deedee was prompt in replying to my emails and texts. Signing contracts and submitting payment was all online and very fast. Our deposit was refunded immediately the day after the wedding. Deedee has so much aloha it makes you feel like family. She was okay with our dog running around off leash (granted, he is very well behaved). At no point did I feel like I was working with a stuffy money minded person. She was professional, authentic and down to earth.

Here is an example of the type of person Deedee is. Through the rush of the wedding and all the craziness of that day my wife lost her wallet. We couldn't find it anywhere. I asked Deedee if she could check the property when she had a chance and she was able to do it that day. We were spending our mini honeymoon in Waikiki and Deedee drove from Haleiwa to Waikiki to hand deliver the wallet. This is incredible. Her level of kindness is represented in the way she runs her business.

You will not be disappointed if you decide on Ohia Farms as your event location. Call her! =)

    Not worth the headache...

This space is beautiful but not worth the headache, which I'm really sad to say... You must bring every single thing in and out on the same day of your event (including bar, seating, decor, lights, DJ/music, catering, trash - yes you have to haul out your own trash the night of your wedding - tent, etc). If you are not within the 11 hour time frame they charge you $500/hour which is outrageous and almost impossible to do unless you have nothing at your party... we are neighbors to this property and residents in the community and were thoroughly disappointed with the way the manager treated our guests by screaming at them the night of the wedding when we we're trying to get everything off her property like they wanted us to do. I previously discussed the fact that folks would be staying behind to help move items offsite but she must have forgot. It was embarrassing and honestly baffling. I'd love to share more but do yourself a favor and just avoid this place...

    Ohia Farms's reply:

As kama’aina we live & exemplify the ALOHA spirit with all our clients!

We were taken aback you felt this way since we received your email on 8/11 stating, every one had a great time & loved the view!

Our staff wants to address each complaint to clarify and apologize if there were any misunderstandings.

September 16, 2018 we emailed you info for our venue, cafe lighting throughout the 2800ft deck area and our price list for items available to rent at our venue & you opted to bring in your own.

May 2nd we replied to your inquiry regarding additional hours. Since we did not hear from you, we followed up with you again on June 24th and never got a reply.

Perhaps you forgot we texted you on 8/5, the day before your event at 2:15pm after the tent company was done setting up 2- 20x30 tents, 15 tables & 90 chairs when our staff noticed there was no lights or rain gutters for your tent. Our staff asked the tent company not to leave so they could clarify with you. Workers told our staff, the bride didn’t order any & showed them the invoice. We did not hear back from you but the worker did update our staff. We allowed additional time for gutters & lights to be delivered & set up at no additional cost, workers finished at 6:30pm. We scheduled with you on 8/2 pickup for tents, lights, chairs, lawn games etc the morning of 8/7.
8/5 at 7:45pm, Kevin called us requesting for a 8am arrival at a discounted rate & also mentioned you had no wedding coordinator. We strongly felt we accommodated his request the best we could & allowed Kevin & friends to enter the property at 8:30am (your contract hours 11am to 10pm). Kevin promised he would settle his bill as soon as he arrived at 8:30am for the additional 2 1/2 hours.
Unfortunately, this was not the case. All our clients settle their bills months before their event. We understand the busyness of this special day & there is no perfect time dealing with a bill so we waited until the end of the night & that is when staff asked a group of 5 men if they knew the whereabouts of your husband so we could settle the additional hours. One of the men told our staff, “It’s his f——- wedding night, F—- off!” Staff asked this 1 guest to leave the property immediately! The other 4 men were never asked to leave. At 10:45pm one of Kevin’s coworkers settled your bill.
During your event, we allowed 3 umbrella stands to be used at no additional charge and none of them were put back.

When your wedding coordinator arrived on property after 1:30pm, she informed our staff she was given the roll the night before so our staff kept communication with her throughout your event and until she departed the premises after 11pm with her daughter.

We are a non smoking venue & require all garbage is to be bagged. It was kind of you to suggest, we should’ve called you to pick up the garbage & cigarette butts the day after but we would never expect that from any of our clients. We appreciate Kevin returning our missing sign on 8/20 & picking up your wedding arch! We were sorry to hear the missing trash can has not been found.

We feel our staff were professional and gave the best service for your event. We accommodated Kevin’s request and allowed him & his friends to enter the premise before your contract time and allowed additional hours for tent set up to be done the day before your event.

Thank you for choosing ‘Ōhi’a Farms and we apologize if your experience was not what you expected, however after careful consideration we strongly feel our staff made many concessions to make your event a memorable one.

Our ‘Ohana has been in these islands since the 1800s, not only do we try to be good neighbors, we live with ALOHA!

    Me ke aloha pumehana,
    ‘Ōhi’a Farms
