  We booked the Aldous Collins Band for a big, 275 person gala that was held on a Saturday night. They were awesome!! We had a mixed crowd, from age 21 to 83 and they were a big hit; Aldous was in the crowd, getting people up and dancing, the brass was an impressive touch with great sound and we had guests commenting on how good they were, both on the night and after the fact.
  
  They were also very professional, friendly and low maintenance and worked well with us in what was a challenging venue with poor acoustics. I definitely plan to book them again and highly recommend them to any one else running an event who is looking to book a band that offers something a bit special.

  Sam and his trio have been performing at our organization's holiday celebration every year for the past five years. Our congregants (young and old and everyone in between) have been perfectly delighted with their lively and upbeat music. In fact, they (literally) have us dancing in the streets! Though the performance mostly takes place inside, we do at some point wander outside and - yes - dance in the streets. This Klezmer trio is magnificent; the musicians put their heart and soul into their playing, which in turn inspires us. We have found Sam to be responsive, punctual, cheerful and professional, which is why we ask them to return year after year. This band is a winner.

  Couldn't be happier with our experience with Of an Oak. From the start, Sam was professional, prompt, and helpful. We asked the band to learn and play a Beatles song for our ceremony. Not only were they happy to do so, they knocked it out of the park. It was perfect. They also played our cocktail hour at the reception and were wonderful. If the style of music is to your taste, don't worry yourself about anything else. You'll get excellent service and excellent music.

  My wife and I are from the former Soviet Union. Although we had a none-denominational wedding, we also wanted to add aspects of our Eastern European Jewish heritage. The band played our traditional dances and an array of complimentary music that had our guests on their feet the entire evening. During the DJ portion, Sam played a variety of music that appealed to all of our American and Russian-speaking friends and family. Although we did not ask them to do this, the band learned our first dance and played it live for us. Overall, the music was great and we would definitely recommend the band to our friends and family!

  Sam is a very talented musician with access to many other talented musicians, and can put together a great variety of ensembles for you. I've hired his jazz duo for a standing daytime gig, and hired Cocek! Brass Band for an unusual "Mega Musical Chairs" event at Faneuil Hall Marketplace. His group's work at Musical Chairs was especially impressive. They were extremely energetic, they were fantastic at starting and stopping on a dime to trick the players, and they even threw in special events, like "womp womp womp......" type riffs when someone was eliminated. This event would not have been nearly as much fun without them!

  Our community had a summer Mardi Gras party and parade. We hired Of an Oak Music's quartet to lead the parade and perform during the party!! They really set the tone for the parade and the party!! They got the community involved by walking around as they played. They were very talented and personable. I notice neighbors asking for their business cards!

  In May 2015 I contracted An Oak Music for a 6,000 person "Welcome Reception" during a conference in Boston and I was blown away. Even with such a large crowd, the group never failed to grasp the attention of all attendees and the gentlemen were very professional and receptive to each request my team had. They went from being positioned on stage, to marching through the crowd and interacting with other live entertainment within the event. The performance was unforgettable, the energy never died and my client was SO impressed. Of An Oak Music was an irreplaceable addition to this event and I cannot wait to work with them again for future events!

  We worked with Sam and Of An Oak Music to create a weekend-long musical program at our synagogue in Madison, CT. Friday night included an educational and engaging program during our Shabbat services. Saturday night the band put together a wonderful concert. Perhaps best of all was Sunday morning, when the group skillfully taught music to our kids and even incorporated our pre-teen instrumentalists into the band for a song. I was incredibly impressed with the quality of each of the programs during the weekend, and would highly recommend the Klezwoods and Of An Oak Music.

  I had two different musicians show up for our engagement dinner. The violinist came from this organization. His name was Joe. He was fantastic. Easy to work with, flexible, and frankly excited about being part of this moment. He coordinated with the other musician, waited together in the shadows, communicated with me via text, and came in on demand playing the most romantic violin piece to set the stage for my proposal. Upon acceptance, he stepped back and motioned the second musician come appear and take his place.
  
  He left us with smiles and congratulations. Great guy. I would hire again. And again.

  Sam Dechemme of the An Oak Jazz Trio performed with his group at my Red Hat Society party in December 2012. His jazz group came in playing "when the Saints Come Marching In" and the women went crazy. They did a great job and the 20 women that attended had a ball. They were very professional and I would call them again for some event in the future. Flo Shulman

  The Dixieland Trio I hired for a Mardi Gras themed event was fantastic. They were extremely professional and played very upbeat big band tunes for the entire 3 hour duration of my event. My guests at this event often complain that the music volume is too loud, but the Dixieland Trio was perfect!
  
  I also hired the Aldous Collins Band for a Great Outdoors themed event. Their laid back vibe was perfect and made everyone feel like they were sitting around a campfire (without all the bugs and dirt!) I would definitely recommend!

They were able to accommodate the exact songs that I wanted for my processional and recessional as well as the type of music I wanted played at my cocktail hour (upbeat jazz) and pre-ceremony (light classical). I wasn't able to hear much of the cocktail hour music as I was busy with family photos, but my guests said it was wonderful! I can verify that the ceremony music was also beautiful. The band was very accommodating when it came to having to move from playing the outdoor ceremony into the estate for the cocktail hour and since they are a three piece band they were able to do so smoothly. I would definitely recommend hiring Of an Oak to add a layer of class to your event especially if you appreciate live music.
