Generally, Occasions is happy to discuss all issues with our brides privately and personally so we can make any concerns right prior to an event, but we do feel this public attempt to disparage our facility does need addressed.
First of all, we would like to thank you for taking the time to write a lengthy review that we are able to respond to, since there were no concerns discussed prior to receiving a notice of cancellation. The entire terms and conditions of this event were spelled out and agreed upon willingly prior to any contract being signed, and now there are many false statements being made.
Occasions Party Centre has THREE indoor event rooms and an outdoor Pavilion. We advertise all of these rooms. We also show potential brides/grooms all of the rooms they are interested in PRIOR to signing an event contract. The Garden Room is the only event room with hanging terrarium globe lighting, which are always present in that room. There is NO MINIMUM PERSON requirement for any wedding reception on our facility. Each indoor room coordinates to an outdoor ceremony site with an indoor rain plan. To reserve The Garden Room, for any reason, you would be agreeing to a for that room.
Occasions can have numerous events on the property in one day, each event at a separate starting time and each event with a separate entrance, including the bridal suite which has its own entrance from the outside of the building. It is not inside any other event room. As a multi-room facility we have successfully pulled-off 2 or 3 events on the same date all the time.
Occasions does NOT charge to bring in any DJ of your choice. We also offer wedding cake as part of our all-inclusive package. Cake cutting fees are only applied when choosing an alternative to what is already included (this fee is NOT $250).
ALL white table linen and napkin service is included at no charge. Only upgraded linens have upgraded pricing.
All pricing information, including the deposit and cancelation policy is presented PRIOR to any payments made or contracts are signed.
There was NO price raise applied to this event. And the previous deposit applies toward the cancelation policy/fees. For this specific circumstance, the remaining balance was discounted - as you posted - then a payment plan was agreed upon so that no full amount was ever expected at one time. We are always happy to work with budget needs in case of a cancelation even when the sole reason for canceling is to move to a less expensive venue.
